No matter what happens I have to give him at least four weeks’ holiday. The [Under-21] tournament finishes at the end of June so he won’t come back until the end of July. That means he will not be ready to play at the start of August or maybe at the beginning of September.

That is what Arsene Wenger has told our club website, if that’s for real then I hope England get knocked out early, Jack comes home and gets his rest prior to next season! 😉

Surely the same time has to be given to Kieran Gibbs and Henri Lansbury too so if reports are true and our squad is to be trimmed this summer, three players out for the first month is not good is it and that is without any other hic-cups during pre-season!! I guess we will have to worry about that when it comes around.

On to todays big game at Stoke City, the home of rough and tough tactics enforced by Tony Pullis!

It’s the place that Aarron Ramsey suffered a double fracture in his lower right leg following a brutal assault committed by Ryan Shawcross.

Today Ramsey faces them again for the first time!

Today it’s time for revenge, not physically but by getting three points!

We play first today, after that there is a little match going on at Old Trafford, a game we need to be drawn to stay in with a shout for the title, well, more like a whisper really but should the Mancs win, and we get our three points, we can still get second place.

Second place would be good wouldn’t it, not so that Wenger and the board can bleat on about ‘how good it is to be second in such a difficult league’ but it would mean no Champions League qualifying matches next season.

We know Cesc Fabregas, Diaby and Samir Nasri are missing for today’s fixture, Ramsey steps in for Fabregas and no doubt Arshavin will replace Nasri as he did last weekend against the Mancs.

Thomas Vermaelen has been declared fit and ready to play so the only question will be whether he starts or just makes the bench.

The rest I’ll leave to Wenger 😉

Let’s just show heart, show guts, show passion for Arsenal and show all fans how much OUR club means – especially today to the away fans who follow OUR club through thick and thin this season and there’s been plenty on the thin side hasn’t there.

Go get three points guys and do yourselves proud again, just like you did against the Mancs…..

Finally:

I’d like to give a small mention to a small club, Tottingham Hotspur – having completed their first season in the Champions League and doing so well it seems the league form has suffered somewhat. Following their 1-1 draw at home to Blackpool yesterday we are  certain of  Champions League next season, they however will probably not!

Also, they cannot catch us in the Premier League, let alone overtake us – maybe now Harry will realise how hard it is to compete at the top.….

Happy St Totteringham’s Day to every Gooner – may you all celebrate 50 years of their failure !!

That’s it for today, have a good one…..
