Jack Wilshere out until September, Champions League secured next season thanks to Tottenham…..

No matter what happens I have to give him at least four weeks’ holiday. The [Under-21] tournament finishes at the end of June so he won’t come back until the end of July. That means he will not be ready to play at the start of August or maybe at the beginning of September.

That is what Arsene Wenger has told our club website, if that’s for real then I hope England get knocked out early, Jack comes home and gets his rest prior to next season! 😉

Surely the same time has to be given to Kieran Gibbs and Henri Lansbury too so if reports are true and our squad is to be trimmed this summer, three players out for the first month is not good is it and that is without any other hic-cups during pre-season!! I guess we will have to worry about that when it comes around.

On to todays big game at Stoke City, the home of rough and tough tactics enforced by Tony Pullis!

It’s the place that Aarron Ramsey suffered a double fracture in his lower right leg following a brutal assault committed by Ryan Shawcross.

Today Ramsey faces them again for the first time!

Today it’s time for revenge, not physically but by getting three points!

We play first today, after that there is a little match going on at Old Trafford, a game we need to be drawn to stay in with a shout for the title, well, more like a whisper really but should the Mancs win, and we get our three points, we can still get second place.

Second place would be good wouldn’t it, not so that Wenger and the board can bleat on about ‘how good it is to be second in such a difficult league’ but it would mean no Champions League qualifying matches next season.

We know Cesc Fabregas, Diaby and Samir Nasri are missing for today’s fixture, Ramsey steps in for Fabregas and no doubt Arshavin will replace Nasri as he did last weekend against the Mancs.

Thomas Vermaelen has been declared fit and ready to play so the only question will be whether he starts or just makes the bench.

The rest I’ll leave to Wenger 😉

Let’s just show heart, show guts, show passion for Arsenal and show all fans how much OUR club means – especially today to the away fans who follow OUR club through thick and thin this season and there’s been plenty on the thin side hasn’t there.

Go get three points guys and do yourselves proud again, just like you did against the Mancs…..

Finally:

I’d like to give a small mention to a small club, Tottingham Hotspur – having completed their first season in the Champions League and doing so well it seems the league form has suffered somewhat. Following their 1-1 draw at home to Blackpool yesterday we are  certain of  Champions League next season, they however will probably not!

Also, they cannot catch us in the Premier League, let alone overtake us – maybe now Harry will realise how hard it is to compete at the top.….

Happy St Totteringham’s Day to every Gooner – may you all celebrate 50 years of their failure !!

That’s it for today, have a good one…..

JJ made some good points last night/early morning, about Everton Vs Man City. Wonder if that doyen of stylish football Pulis garnered any ideas about roughing up City in the Cup final? Me thinks 90mins of aerial attacks on Kompany & company at Wembley.

  2. rico says:

Citeh must be pretty cheesed off, all that money spent, no doubt more will be spent this summer and right now they are not guaranteed CL football next season…

  3. allezkev says:

You know, the rest of the football world, outside of these islands, must think it’s hilarious when they see the likes of Stoke prosper in our football.
What does Pulis bring to the table? Football bordering on the edge of physical assault, unacceptable aggression and just good old fashioned violence. Makes ya proud to be British!

  4. allezkev says:

You know Rico, i accept that fans don’t want to see financially doped clubs like Cittie win anything. But i’m sure we don’t really want to see a bunch of thugs like Stoke win anything either. So for me, it’ll be ‘Play up City’

  5. Graham says:

This season finishing 2nd is nothing to be happy about. The standard of the top 3 teams has been poor.Anyone of those teams who played anywhere true to their real form would have won the tile by 20 pts.We won 1 game in 7 yet are still within touching distance. Will we ever get a better chance?i doubt it

  6. allezkev says:

Marmite????? You either love it, or hate it. I luv it, but it’s porridge for me this morning.
    How’s Fido?

  7. arsenal fan says:

i have a question if wenger doesnt buy anyone till the season starts and we are again with same team buys a unkown french defender n another mediocre midfielder !!!Will there again be that much enthusiasm to the next season by the fans who are angry with him?

  8. rico says:

Phew, i thought you were hoping for a stoke win… I’d rather they were just below West Ham…

  9. rico says:

Hi Graham, trust me, very few bloggers here are happy with 2nd place, our rise then the fall has been a disgrace…

  10. rico says:

hi arsenal fan – there will always be a group who will back wenger regardless and nothing will change their view but for me its a summer last saloon if that makes sense.

  11. rico says:

I love it kev, especially with marmalade 🙂 Bit of a porridge fan myself but went for the lazy option…

Fido is just tip top thanks 🙂

  12. rico says:

I have snatched this from AshburtonGrove

The Sunday Times has released it’s annual Rich List and there are a number of people within the top 1,000 wealthiest people in the UK who have Arsenal connections.

The clubs second biggest shareholder Usmanov comes in second, ahead of Roman Abramovich. The Uzbek is valued at £12.4 billion.

  13. arsenal fan says:

anyway hope we defeat stoke n ramsey scores the winner it will be great!!!yesterday mtch between spuds n blackpool was a comedy of errors thanks to their keeper!one thing for sure atleast one keeper is worse than almunia

  14. allezkev says:

AFC fan. It all depends how we start the season. We can’t help ourselves getting caught up in the excitement, but in the back of our minds we’ll suspect that they’ll be another Easter collapse if Wenger doesn’t strengthen.
Graham, my worst ever season remains 1979-80 when AFC lost two cup finals. But this is definately ‘The One That Got Away’ re; the League.

  15. rico says:

I’d love Ramsey to get the winner too, mind you i don’t care who gets the winner as long as we get one…

Yep kev, M&M on white toast, mutts nutts 😉

  16. allezkev says:

Rico, you seem convinced that ‘The Uzbek’ is gonna take over? Not sure myself, but it wouldn’t really suprise me i suppose.

  17. allezkev says:

    Mutts nutts, ha ha.
Yep that would be sweet to see Aaron stuff it down their throats.

  18. allezkev says:

Good to see Benik Afobe score for Huddersfield again yesterday. It would be great for him [and us] if Town get to Wembley and get promoted. Then he could do another year with them, this time in the Championship.

  19. allezkev says:

Hmmm that would be total ballcocks, because it may mean a few more years of zero investment in the team. Where’s David Dein when you need him….

  20. rico says:

At least then we’d have a few more medal winners kev 😉

Norwich got promoted yesterday – good for Lansbury

I have a sneaky feeling that Afobe will be part of the CC Campaign next season, what is he now 17/18?? Same with Chuks

  21. Doublegooner says:

Usmanov & Dein had dinner together at the Orange Tree, Totteridge.

Obviously still close …but obviously wanted to be seen !

  22. allezkev says:

Delighted for Lansbury, really hope Wenger integrates him into the squad next season Rico.
Doubles, when did this occur mate?

  23. rico says:

No he won’t be missed, just glad that clubs are interested and a move is on the cards, he hasn’t played for ages, surely he’ll want out…

  24. rico says:

Thats interesting DG, wonder why they wanted to be so public, i really do think the pair will be back….

not saying i want that to happen, just think it might…

  25. rico says:

Me too re Lansbury, can’t wait to see him back in red and white and playing where he belongs…

It’ll be like having Ray Parlour back in our squad…

  26. allezkev says:

Wilshere saw off Denilson, maybe Lansbury & Bartley will see off a couple more wallies out of the squad.
I’m offski for awhile, may try some Marmite & marmalade, hehe.

  27. Will says:

I hate this media fascination of Pulis and his “good, old fashioned English football”. I am sorry, I remember those days and the media wondering why we couldn’t produce teams like Ajax, Munich and the great Brazil teams. Well, now we have teams who play “total football” and the media hate it and want to hark back to days of leg breaking tackles. Oh fuck it, I hate the English media.

As for the game today, we need to do a Barca, with every vicious Stoke tackle, we need to crowd the ref, pressure him, let him know what is happening and that we won’t stand for it.

But we also need an enforce that tells their thugs that the next nasty tackle they make will be their last as he will break his legs.

I hate what City are doing, same as Chelsea, buying success and it is distasteful.

    Ok, I am rambling.

  28. rico says:

    Morning Will, good ramble 😉

Mark Halsey is the ref today, he’s one of the better one’s isn’t he, well fairer?

  29. Will says:

I still think after every “nasty” tackle “and we know there will be a few) our players should make the ref aware.

  30. rico says:

But you watch our players get booked if they do that Will, only manure and barca get away with such behaviour…

  31. rico says:

    By Michael Calvin….

Stoke have won many friends on the way to the FA Cup Final.

It’s payback time today, when Arsenal visit the Britannia Stadium. The consequences of Aaron Ramsey being roughed up don’t bear thinking about. Just this once, it’s not the win that matters.

It’s winning friends and influencing people.

What precisely is the point of the Football Association?

They leap into action when someone says a naughty word on Twitter.

But when they have an issue of substance to consider, the shutters come down.

The secrecy surrounding the QPR trial is scandalous.

It has added to the sense of chaos and incompetence.

Instead of protecting themselves, the FA are damning themselves.

  32. JonJon says:

    morning all..
i was reading a wenger interview last night and i had a real chuckle to myself

    ‘The next step is the
top three because we want to avoid a qualifier.
    We will fight like mad.’

ok..now we are going for the avoid a qualifier trophy and a fight like mad trophy…??

    lol

the thing what really tickled me is that while this is typical wenger..hes right isnt he..we dont really want a qualifier for cl next season..

but what would be better to ensure cl qualification would be to win the league

  33. K-TR7 says:

Good read rico but id like to mention that a top 3 finish ensures automatic CL qualification.

  34. rico says:

    Hi jj

Some of his comments make me laugh, although they are not really very funny – to be where we are and him talking about securing third just smacks of lack of ambition to me…

Pity he didn’t get his side to fight tooth and nail about five months ago, then todays result probably wouldn’t have mattered quite so much….

Cesc would be lifting the PL Trophy instead…

  35. rico says:

Hi Kt.. the reference was more about ‘not for wenger to bleat on about coming second’….

    😉

  36. K-TR7 says:

We have conceded the least amount of goals from open play in the league.we have however conceded 56% of our goals from setpieces.

  37. SUGA3 says:

    harro 😉

nice read, thank you very much!

AW is a funny fucker, ain’t he? we should have been ‘fighting like mad’ throughout the season…

    radical idea, I know!

  38. JonJon says:

trainig ground ktr..its a drilling thing..
no new cb will fix that issue
although no team has won the PL without an english CB…

  39. rico says:

Hi SUGA, spot on, not just in the last three games, bloody crazy…

off for a bit, later all…

  40. SUGA3 says:

    JonJon,

nah mate, just putting a certain pompous individual in his place 😉

he just doesn’t seem to get it, does he?

  41. JonJon says:

mate ive had same problems with him..
only advice i could give is to let him carry on with the name calling..its his tactic to wind u up and make you agressive and then hope everyone else jumps on you..hes a fucker for it some of the regulars think hes brilliant but hes constantly disrespecting the rules of the site and he doesnt realise it..
i find its easier to let him get on with it and if you ignore the insults and just pick him up on the crap he talks youve got him hook line and sinker..
a man who debates with facts has more credibility than a man who debates with insults..

i dont even read alot of what he says anymore to be honest he bores the shit out of me..

  42. SUGA3 says:

and the funniest thing is that it’s only me who gets the yellow card waved at me 😆

to be honest, I enjoy that sometimes, cornering his ilk using the strength of logocal arguments and watching them squirm and blow their top…

  43. W.A.T.H says:

JJ you lycra loving village person you 😉

Mario Gotze is a good little player Kt mentioned him the other week but he’s so similar to what we already have and we really don’t need anymore techinically gifted dwarfs……..!.

Oh and morning and happy mothers day to everyone who is a mother…. Not naming anynames tho 😀

  44. JonJon says:

    howdy sailor 😉

yeah hes similar i have to agree with you both..

rambo and jack today for stoke WATH..young lions ready to roar i reckon..

better chance than using denilson and diaby anyway..

  45. JonJon says:

i dont know how diabys still here..
its not like hes rvp, it aint like he makes a difference to the team when he is fit..
hes just an average player who’s never fit..

maybe weve still got him cos we pay him silly money and nobody is prepared to meet those demands for a crock

  46. W.A.T.H says:

JJ, Diaby = he’s tall, fwench n skinny and reminds us off someone and hmmmmm thats about it… Oh and every now and then he gets an Arsenal first team strip slightly dirty….! He also costs us 60% of the yearly season tkt increase…!

  47. JonJon says:

guys same can be said for alot of our players cant it but weve covered the wages many times before..

    hiya kev
ive got a bit of faith today..

  48. allezkev says:

JJ we’ve got 4 Brits in the starting XI and we’ll need a bit of that grit up there on the Dark Side of the Moon.

  49. JonJon says:

    lol lee 😉

not a bad team..looking forward to seeing jack and rambo play..let the young guns loose i say..

will be watching gibbs closely too..good luck today son show us what youve got eh…

  50. JonJon says:

    whos feeling the vibe today??

wish i would have gone now kev but cant afford it anyway..
i had to work a 80 hour week to afford my cup final ticket and it costs me an arm and a leg to travel around supporting them, we in the middle of a reccession here arsenal and ive been hit for six and i need all my arms and legs..dont even get me started on the home games…

but im still feeling the vibe today ;)…i hope they fucking do it i really do cos i cant fucking stand stoke…

  51. allezkev says:

Pity Lansbury couldn’t be involved… Know it’s too soon after playing for Norwich, but i bet he wouldn’t disappear when the tackles start flying.

  52. allezkev says:

Calm down calm down [in a Scouse accent]. JJ i hate them as well and not just recently. Been to the old Victoria Ground and they’re a bunch of total c**ts.

  53. JonJon says:

rvp has 17 goals in 18 games..
ive heard talk ppl want him to go cos hes just a crock but hes class…
he needs help…he needs a supporting striker who can take the pressure off him..
we should have no talk of selling him

  54. allezkev says:

How about putting a couple of Stoke players out of the final? What goes around comes around…

  55. SUGA3 says:

    why don’t they think?

why bother crossing into the box without any presence and with Huth + Shawcross in there?

    SMH…

  56. JonJon says:

we cant get thru the middle we are looking for other options but they arent really there are they..

  57. rico says:

Suga, also, why isn’t theo cutting in like he did against the mancs, just no way in right now….

  58. rico says:

You just have to smile at the ‘swing low’ 😉

that is exactly why arsenal should not tell the media what they think about other teams tactics…

  59. SUGA3 says:

    @OptaJoe Opta Sports

57% – Arsenal have conceded a higher proportion of goals from set-pieces than any other PL team this season. Flaw.

  60. allezkev says:

That’s it, fuck this, i’m off into the garden to fire up the barbacue, i’ll see all you fine Gooners later.

  61. Will says:

It is pathetic. Could you see this Stoke side being the Vieira, HEnry, Pires, Bergkamp, Keown, Campbell side?

  62. HCAA says:

I’ve changed my mind about giving Wenger another year. Please take your spineless persona and fuck off.

  63. Will says:

Wenger has THIS summer and this summer alone. Don’t get the people in we need, he has to go.

  64. K-TR7 says:

Will-Cesc Fabregas makes alot of difference to this side.if he doesn’t transmit a transfer request id turn down all bids as we have no equivalent of him yet.

  65. SUGA3 says:

    rico,

yes, he should have done better, but why can’t we learn to deny them space in front of our goal?

a set piece and failure to close down the opponent, story of our undoing for how many years exactly?

  66. HCAA says:

Fans need to let Wenger know, because he is so powerful at Arsenal, he just doesn’t get it. Maybe next week at home against Villa, Wenger needs to be told exactly how we feel.

  67. K-TR7 says:

Suga Thats why we concede loads from speculative shots.we back off instead of attacking the space.

  68. Joaquim Moreira says:

    It´s pathetic!!! Allways the some!!!
Continues to play without a player in a modern area. There is no depth of play. it’s just knitting!!
And now come two to unbalance the team!!

  69. Lee says:

I’d like to take that fucking baseball cap and poke it where the sun don’t shine….prick!

  70. HCAA says:

    Lee,

We can’t blame Pulis for our pathetic team. Pulis has never been relegated at any club he’s managed and has them in a Cup final. I bet if you offered Stoke Wenger, they’d laugh at you.

  71. rico says:

I’m off folks, got a BBQ to go to shortly….

Catch you all tomorrow as i don’t think i’ll make a lot of sense if i pop back later 😉 😉

Dreadful showing, dreadful result and I’ve had enough of this season…

    Til tomorrow all….

    🙁

  72. Joaquim Moreira says:

Definitely, and ask this question a long time ago, is the team with the coach? With his options? Is united? Without unity, there is no ambition, no team, no motivation and can not have football.
Arsenal football has no depth. Period.
In football, there isn’t, like in skating, technical notes and artistic note. Period.
All opponents, with the exception of the top teams, play the same way. Defender all together aggressively and put the ball in front, where the powerful forward, trying to gain fouls, corners, penalties, etc. How many goals, suffered by us, not the result of set pieces? Most certainly. Can any of you give me those statiscal results? Period.
A coach who hypothetically has two center-forwards, who has not played with any, it is because he lost confidence in them a long time ago. Without a center forward, which “locks”the two central defenders, no depth of play, makes it easier for defenses, it is very “tricot” and it is possible to spend an entire game without scoring opportunities. Period.
There are flaws in goalkeeping, defense, etc. In my opinion, the major problem is the number 9. If AW has lost confidence in the two center-forwards, he must have had to go get a new one. This one from Stoke, for instance, on January. Looking for Malaga
(on the 1st division of Spain) which was seeking, in January, Julio Baptista from Roma (who was an Arsenal player), served us perfectly. Period.
Who began to see the 2nd part of the game today, questioned who was losing 2-0. It is a team psicilogicamente lost. A team with no guts, no strength, no motivation, no calls, no will. Period.
The fans are tired of seeing Arsenal play well (is it really?) and did not win anything. Tired and worn. Period.
For the tenth time (or more), we could approach the first place, move to 1st or win a contest, we lose. I confess to you that in addition to this information, we do not know in the World, club, which has lost over its history, so many late European Cups, FA and league championships and bend the straight end. Period.
    I will rest!

  73. Lee says:

HCCA…. He’s a prick and you’re right our under-achievement is fuck all to do with him…

  74. W.A.T.H says:

Well that sums us up eh and our esteemed manager say we lacked something…. No shit Sherlock….

  75. allezkev says:

Didn’t see the game , and in truth i didn’t need to because it’s the same old crap we’ve been suffering for the last 4 years.
Had a few sherberts so i’d better be carefull, but if Wenger doesn’t act this summer then he should be taken out at dawn and effin shot… Rant over

  76. allezkev says:

I’d sack the lot. How many times do you have to make the same mistakes before the penny drops?

  77. Joaquim Moreira says:

I’m watching Porto- Paços de ferreira.
    I’ve watching Barcelona-Espanol, before
All Arsenal fans should watch those 2 matches and understand why Barcelona and Porto plays better then us

  78. W.A.T.H says:

AK, we cant defend mate, 1st n 3rd goals were a joke and where were the midfielders for the 2nd…?

  79. Will says:

56% – Arsenal have conceded the highest percentage of goals from set pieces of any team in the Premier League

  80. W.A.T.H says:

Will we don’t need the stats to know we cant defend eh mate, we can all see it…… apart from le boss

  81. allezkev says:

Wath, when the 1st goal went in i kinda knew that it was game over. So i just went off to do other things, i’m sick of the same old shit and sick of the same old excuses, if that prat don’t sort it out this summer then i give up.

  82. Will says:

I turned the game off when they kicked the ball forward and two defenders watched as Ches strolled out to clear it only to be nearly blocked by the SPRINTING Stoke forward.

  83. Steve Palmer says:

To be quite honest, this planned protest walk that’s going to take place on the eve of the Aston Villa game should be abandoned and so should the support for the team. Save your selves the trouble of travelling, and all that effort in walking the streets. Instead go down the pub and order yourselves a nice cold pint, and sit and watch the dart board or the pool table as they will have more life in them than Wenger’s squad. Yes show how you feel about the price hike and the lack of new players, but do it in a way that the board will understand.
While you sit and sup that refreshing cold beer and you hear on the radio or television that the Arsenal’s losing side are playing in front of an empty stadium, that’s exactly when the message will well and truly sink in.

  84. W.A.T.H says:

Steve the problem with what your saying is half the stadium will still be full of jcl’s wenger lovers and jap tourists….! I reckon an on the dot protest that 20mins b4 the end everyone walks out…. BUT who would do it….? A protest where ppl show their feelings will work if ppl actually get off their arses and do something rather than merely moan abt it

  85. W.A.T.H says:

AK, why does wenger take off AA tp play bendy left wing play Chamakh centre forward and drop RVP back into midfield, what the fuck is that all about…? why did we not go 4-4-2 why bring on big strikers and play one wide left when he is right footed… it beggards belief….! Wenger looked like he’d just accepted we were pitiful…!

  86. Steve Palmer says:

True Wath, but untill they feel it in their pockets things will continue as they have, for the next 5 years.

  87. allezkev says:

Wath, i’m at a loss mate. As SP said a half-empty stadium can often galvanise some action from the Boardroom. But not while Hill ‘silly bollocks’ Wood is the chairman.

  88. Will says:

Have you seen the genius of Wenger? Poor defending from set plays and a poor competitive spirit were to blame.

  89. allezkev says:

I know a lot of fans out there rate Song, and whilst i’m not blaming him alone, i thought he looked fairly feeble as the d/m. I honestly think we can do a lot better than him. What do u think?

  90. Steve Palmer says:

I can appreciate supporters wanting to attend the games and also the walks, but to then go to the ground and fill the stadium up I can only imagine the laughter from the boardroom. It just goes against the grain.

  91. W.A.T.H says:

Will wengers comments after the game are as pathetic as the players that played, sorry walked about in arsenal shirts… Bereft of passion fight and spirit and the prick has the cheek to say we didnt show fight today, we aint showed it for most of the season you delusional arse….! Song is a decent squad player for me AK thats about it….!

  92. allezkev says:

The thing is Steve, you can’t expect fans to spend 100’s on a season ticket and not go. Boycott the clubs merchandise, including the new shitty shirts might have an impact?

  93. Steve Palmer says:

    Kev, Songs quality.
the teams spirit is not there,I believe they are as worried as we all are, and now, have lost interest the same as us.
Wengers half time team talk. (Any body for tea)

  94. W.A.T.H says:

Don’t be daft Steve wengers team talk was, pls look at yourselves and ask what you just did for 45 mins and look to corerect it…… jasmin tea anyone….?

  95. allezkev says:

Thanks lads, i thought i was alone on the Song question. To be honest, i’ve never really rated him that highly. I just think he gets ‘bigged up’ by fans because we’ve got bugger all else in that position.

  96. allezkev says:

Fair enough Steve. I respect your view on Song, but i just don’t think he protects the back four and is too slow generally.

  97. Steve Palmer says:

Kev, with all televised games, believe me when i te, and they woll you that when its seen on the tele that the Ems is empty the reasons would be like a knife in the back to the board and sponsers

  98. W.A.T.H says:

I think Song is decent but certainly not as good as we need, thats my opinion, I think he has improved ten fold but still doesnt do the simple thing gives away far to many freekicks and doesnt protect the back 4 enough but then again he not the only one on that count. We say the same thing every other game and yet nothing will change in the summer wenger will spout bollox abt frustrated players needing a chance so he cant possibly buy and we also getting back loads of injured and loanee players so we have the quality and mental strength and spirit blah blah blah…. Boring, tedious and tiring keep hearing the same shit over n over

  99. allezkev says:

well steve, if it’s gonna happen, then the Villa game is when it should. A crowd under 50,000 would certainly make those Boardroom tossers sit up.
Maybe the fans should all leave 10 minutes before the end. Lets see a lap of ‘honour’ in front of an empty stadium eh?

  100. allezkev says:

Wath, did you hear the Stoke fans chantting Boring Arsenal as our mugs passed and went nowhere. Do you know, those fuckers are right, AFC’s overpassing IS boring.

  101. W.A.T.H says:

Comes to something when Stoke fans can see it and wenger can’t how mad is that and spot on mate they are right. Steve maybe he would of added “please close your eyes and visualize” 😉

  102. W.A.T.H says:

Ak, 50000 next week and they will say ppl have left early for summer hols…. any excuse to shove their heards further up their bums….! they happy with a top 4 donr forget 20yrs of 2nd place is a success, well we were 2nd today so thats obviously acceptable as well, how can you blame players when thats what the manager preaches…?

  103. W.A.T.H says:

Samba says we nearly bought him in January, we prob offered Blackburn a fiver and they wanted a tenner….!

  104. Joaquim Moreira says:

To an observer, there is no empathy between AW and the team.
There is no joy, no soul, no calls, no ambition.
This form of the game no longer, smarter players with the coach.
It is a proposal for a very predictable game.

  105. W.A.T.H says:

JM, spot on, the only thing the team are to the manager is a reflection of what seems apathy and a broken spirit and a n acceptance that we are merely going through the motions…! no passion no nothing.

  106. W.A.T.H says:

We could not of offered more than a fiver Kev, how would be pay 50k a week wages to ten 16yr olds next season…?

  107. allezkev says:

You know Wath, i was never really convinced by Samba, but we could do with a some big lump at the back whose more interested in defending than looking ‘technical’, and he looked just the kind of big lump we could do with.
Not only that, it’s the effect he’d have on the rest of the pussycats we have in the back4.

  108. Steve Palmer says:

I have got to be honest, I still can’t see Wenger spending. We only ever hear we nearly bought. The only way I can see us buy is with another Manager and that won’t happen. I don’t like to sound defeatist but i just hope we haven’t got another season coming like this one

  109. W.A.T.H says:

I thought that in Jan when his name came up, I though hmmm he aint good enough for us he aint that good on the ball etc etc then I thought wait a minute stop being a pratt i am forever going on about us lacking passion and bottle and this is the type of fella who would run through a brick wall for you… Sign him up I say another one would be Johnson from Brum and of course Cahill but we don’t need technical we got enough of that and look where thats got us, we need brawn over brain n skill its so so so sadly lacking.

  110. allezkev says:

Hi JJ, glad you saved your dough mate. Those assholes are not worth your hard earned cash.
If my boy didn’t want to keep my ticket going, i’d tell them to stick it.

  111. JonJon says:

we are shit at set peices..
we dont pay any attention to dead ball situations we rely on technical ability and triangle to win us games but if we conceded less and scored more set peices we would improve our GD by 15- 20 goals

we concede 57% of our goals from set pieces and we score less set pieces than anyone else in the league..

its a fundamental flaw and not only that wenger has lost control of the players..

  112. W.A.T.H says:

Steve stop being such a miserable pessamistic git……. I totally agree with you, I can’t see him buying. He’s lost it, there is no spark there no nothing the lights are on but noone is at home.

  113. JonJon says:

mate that was a bulshit display

the squad is too big half of them arent good enough and they are demanding payrises cos they are pampered..

    wengers losing control..

  114. W.A.T.H says:

We play triangles in areas of the pitch that dont hurt teams JJ, no speed no penetration and hardly any chances created, all in front of the pen box square n backwards try pass through the eye of a needle into the box and we lose the ball…! no width just predictable and boring and poor…!

  115. JonJon says:

rosicky eboue denilson diaby almunia nikki chamakh none of them are good enough but want to play

    gibbs, clichy, nasri delaying contracts

    cesc wants trophies

    200 players out on loan..

wengers stockpiling and pampering is beginning to bite him on the arsenal..

  116. Steve Palmer says:

Just watched the Twitcher on MOTD he sais he needs to move on some players and needs to bring three top signings to give them a decent chance next year, and here, we know Wenger will keep all our shit and buy a nobody for fucks sake

  117. allezkev says:

Bloody hell, SP/Wath, that’s just what i’ve been thinking as well.
He’s not gonna change, and those tossers in the Boardroom aren’t gonna change either.
Roll on 2011-12, Diaby, Eboue, Rosicky, Squillaci in the squad and the same old excuses by AW.
    Happy Days

  118. JonJon says:

he better fucking sort it out steve..

i hope those lads march next weekend and i hope the stadiums empty during the game..

there needs to be a few hundred ppl in the stadium who have banners saying sort it out …the stewards can stop small sections but if you get it going and get a few hundred to back you the stewards cant do fuck all..

  119. JonJon says:

buying one or two players wont change a thing..
we need a clear out first
    too many bad eggs

  120. W.A.T.H says:

Wenger is comfy in a safe position he’s happy with finishing top 4 as thats the brief he has from the board who just want the shekles, the season tkts sell our the money still rolls in happy days…!
Bar 4/5 players the squad is a reflection of the manager there is no accountability there is no motivation to succeed they are all in a comfort zone with little or no pressure to perform and failure is rewarded.

  121. JonJon says:

listening to what i say is a trophy..

bollox…start listening to what we say now or walk away and let somebody else do it

  122. Steve Palmer says:

I know gooners have paid a lot out for their season tickets but that’s the only way that the board will listen is with empty seats, they have already said that they think the ticket hike is justified, and fans are still clammering to pay the price. i know an empty seat is still a paid for seat but for viewers on the tele its an empty seat

  123. allezkev says:

As far as the managers position is concerned, and with the exception of George Graham, it’s not the Board but the fans that force a change in management.
They’ll do bugger all unless there’s unrest on the ‘terraces’.
Now i still stand by giving Wenger this summer to sort it. But that’s it for me if he sits on his deriere (or arse) and lets things slide.

  124. Steve Palmer says:

I can only see one solution to our problem Arsene likes contracts,I might just get one out on him

  125. W.A.T.H says:

If he sits on the fence this summer and does fuck all AK then we got another summer of “choke & passionless” next season…!

  126. allezkev says:

SP, haha, that’s the spirit mate.
Wath, if he does nothing this summer, then he deserves everything he’ll get, and i won’t feel sorry for him because it’ll be his stupid pride that’ll be the cause of his demise.

  127. W.A.T.H says:

    Cheers Steve…..

We cant give him the summer in my book AK, I want players in and out and done latest end of the 1st week of pre-season, if he aint done the biz by then history shows us fuck all will happen and we get the bullshit and the lies all over again……

  128. allezkev says:

Wath, i know what ya mean mate, and to be honest it’s difficult for me to argue anymore.

  129. allezkev says:

The thing is, the Board won’t act this summer whatever. As i said earlier, it’s the fans that’ll get him out, and i feel that that scenario is still one more year away. He still has a lot of support, but his stupidity is seeing that support draining away. Give it another 12 months, maybe less, and there will be demonstrations frpom the fans.

  130. JonJon says:

weve got 61 players on our books and that doesnt include the 16 players on loan

we need a clear out first this summer before anyone comes in..

if this isnt a busy window for us then i will be disgusted

  131. allezkev says:

The thing is, he can still rectify his position if he spends some serious cash on at least 3 quality players. IF being the word. It’s still in his hands, it remains to be seen if he is smart enough to change tack or stupid enough to repeat his errors of the last 4 years?

  132. W.A.T.H says:

There’s the problem as well AK he’s made the same mistakes time n time again….! cheers mate chat 2moro, JJ the size of the squad is a complete farce…. 50%/60% of that lots just aint good enough so why are they even on our books…? why are they paid as if they successful players why are they paid as if they have performed and delivered…? The whole thing stinks and then wenger says a price hike is justified, on 6.5mil a yr very easy to be patronising eh.

  133. W.A.T.H says:

If we did that at work and made the same cock up again n agian we’d get fired simple… If you don’t perform you dont get a raise and a new extended contract you get a warning and told to pull your finger or you’ll get the boot…? notice the difference..?
