Is Thomas Vermaelen a Centre Forward?

Morning all,

It’s blatantly obvious to anyone that cares, Arsenal Football Club cannot defend set pieces. It hurts me to say this but facts are facts and Mr ‘Arsene Marmite’ is not known for his defensive coaching skills and never will be.

If we were to ever be in a position to acquire a defender then chances are Marmite would coach it out of them. Word is out that Thomas Vermaelen may now be finally ready to take up his position in the team and this is a piece of managerial magic timing.

Out of every competition and the final nail has been fully driven into the coffin, the master tactician has decided Vermaelen is now ready. But where to field him I can hear you all saying?

Well that may be the Marmite Tactical ploy.

He knows that it is safe to field him now that there is no fear of winning any silverware but if he plays well there could still be a mathematical chance of second place and we don’t want to take that chance so Thomas will be fielded as a centre forward.

We very seldom get that high up the field so he shouldn’t get to many touches which cuts down the chances of injury and the perfect position to let him ease back in after his very hard season, we cannot take the chance of a burn out in our run in.

So Thomas back in and Robin has played far to many games this season so he can warm the bench and seeing that Robin is predominately left footed but he did score with his right foot, he would be perfect cover for Sagna should he tire so that’s sorted.

Marmite is even worried that Chesney has been a little taxed so has decided that because our figures are better than most of the league teams, it could be the chance to field Jens as he has now been well rested from his last fine performance, knocking over all those attackers can take it out of you when your 41.

So a decision on Jens and Ches will probably be decided on a spin of a coin, good tactics that.

Marmite has also heard those vicious rumours of Christopher Samba nearly joining us and wants to nip that in the bud. His years in the game has told him Samba could never play on the wing so he wants to put that rumour to bed early.

Arsene has studied the results this year, gone over all the figures and worked out that we have had a successful season, he’s concluded that we need not get involved in high-priced Demigods. He feels so confident of his tactics that he doesn’t believe we need to change too much.

Denilson is just coming good and Diaby should be fit for the second half of next season so plans are for no change. He is concerned that Pat Rice may not be able to hobble out to his seat so a stretcher bearer may be called for but if it does get too much for him, Marmite can always fall back to Jens, although Jens has trouble pulling on a jersey at his age he can still find his own way to Pats chair, so no hiccups envisaged.

It may be a step to far to accomplish what we have this year for next season but anything in the top eight will be remarkable. The team is gaining experience as we go along and as long as nobody has a really good spell, there shouldn’t be any upsets. He is quite adamant that the funds put aside for transfers will not be needed as he has complete faith in this team and knows that the belief he has instilled together with the mental strength will endeavour to get us through another good profit year.

So everything is rosy in the Arsenal garden and the only thing supporters will have to decide on is either pie and chips or toast and yes you guessed it Marmite.

Breaking news has just come in that several players from all over are being linked to us, Marmite has had his aides running about to squash these stories as he feels it may affect the turnout for the walk prior to the Villa game.

Arsene has since stated that he has no knowledge of these players and that The Arsenal are not involved.

Finally, a close Arsenal insider has confirmed that the march planned for Sunday should not affect the afternoons event and a full house is expected….

Oh, just one other piece of good news which involves about Cesc and Nasri, Marmite was again asked if there was any truth in the rumours that they may leave the Arsenal for pastures new.

Arsene replied in fluent French, that the south of France is quite breathtaking at this time of the year, so reading between the lines it’s just a holiday together, I’m sure Arsene has informed them of the perfect hotels.

Well that just about wraps the news up for the time being but you can be sure if anything happens in Arsenal Wonderland you will be the first to know, ‘Sac le Bleu’.

I siad it and said it again.

Just get players who are proud to play for Arsenal and literally die for Arsenal and not those gutless wonders on display.

Every year, we have that “Summer of Discontent” with agents preying on “indispensable players” are trying to break that rigid salary structure and Wenger behaving like a french poodle rolling over for his favorite players.

Time to stop this rot and retain players that are committed to Arsenal:

1 – Sell Fabregas as he had lost all interest and commitment to play for Arsenal.

2 – Sell Nasri as he is just a pretty boy, easily intimidate by the physical nature of English Football, a square peg in a round hole and bluntly, he is not suitable as a leader and gone missing in action when the heat is on. You need to build the midfield around Wilshere-Ramsey-Song plus a new creative playmaker with flair. Nasri is not and if we reatin him, we will have another “5 more fo misery of that Cesc-led Era”.

3 – Clichy. Just sell him as he is a liability, not top-notch and committing one or mroe “fatal error” per match. He got a greedy agent and any competent LB from premeirship league will give out defence more solidity than Clichy.

4 – Gibbs? He is not it and a pale shadow of Clichy. Sell him and look for a new LB.

If Wenger still isnist on retianign this highly-expensive and mediocre squad he ahd assembeld over 6 years, then Kroneke shoudl get rid of him in August 2011 as he had certianly lost hsi marble and still deluded and obsessed with proven right with his “hand-picked orldclass youngsters who will certianly blossom next year…next year…next year…ad infinitum”.

    Theo Walcott?
I retierate. He is a central striker like Michael owen or Robbie Fowler and not a right-flank attacker liek Dutch Total Football 4-3-3.
Theo doe snot have that football brian to play as an attacking right midfielder cum striker as hsi isntinct is to score goals and not to create chances or cross the ball from forwards.
Might as well trade Theo for Pennant if Wenger wanted a right-flank attacking mdifielder.

Thoe’s main attribute is hsi speed and quickness where he runs at defenders in the centre with plenty fo space, between defenders, off-the-shoulder quickness and diagonal runs to latch onto an accurate long pass over the defence. He is a traditional central striker where his quickness will give him that split-second to striek the ball with half-a-yard space. Adnw e all know Theo can hit the ball hard and accurate.

Might as well sell Walcott to English teams that paly him as central striekr ratehr than stupdily hanging him out at right flank which does not work for the past 3 seasons…..like playign Diaby as left-side mdifield.

I see Wenger destroying Theo’s career and confidence by stupidly playing him at right-flank instead of centrally.
I cnanot envisgae Theo renewing hsi cotnract and may even demand a transfer if this kind of abysmal and gutless football at Stoke City are dished out this week and next week.

    Stoke City match?
I thought I saw Theo having a cuppa amongst the spectators and not on the pitch?

Merlin96, you make good reading, and I can understand your anguish, but we have the nucleus of a good side but without the commitment, Cesc and Nasri are two of who I would keep.

both players are still young and have acquired experience and that is what is needed in our side right now, we need to add to that experience with players with fighting spirit, players that will instil confidence back into a side that have given up.

We can blame individual players but the reality is that the Manager did not buy in January, we needed shoring up at that particular time and he missed the boat as usual.

Had we injected talent and commitment at that time, I believe we would have had a very different ending to our season. You have your Favourites the same as I but selling quality is not the same as selling fringe players that do not have the skills required.

it was a tactical error and the management know that, the question is will they now put that error right. Wenger himself has admitted that we lack commitment and experience so he understands his made a massive mistake, but can he put it right.

    Morning Steve

Your post has made me smile, i love marmite but i cannot say the same about Mr Wenger right now…

The thought of next season seeing Jens in PR’s chair, Denilson or Diaby on the pitch is quite worrying..

If PR is to retire, that surely is the first man Wenger signs or promotes from within the club. Then together they should get on and sort out the in’s, the let the outs go….

  4. arsenal fan says:

i think we give wenger a chance till the end of next month n still if no good steps are taken by the manager for eg
    1.removing deadwood
2.bringing atleast one quality player of proven material (pls not melo from a mediocre juve side)
    etc etc
then it will be time to raise our voice even more

  5. T-buzz says:

    Morning,
I agree with some of Merlin96’s points re: Fabregas, Clichy and Gibbs but not with Theo and Nasri.
For a few seasons now Clichy has been sloppy and it’s worrying that when he should be peaking, he isnt. Gibbs, I can’t quite say why he isnt living up to expectations, maybe injuries play a part but he keeps looking like a poor dear caught in the headlights of a Range Rover.
Fabregas I have to say looks like he’s lost interest and can’t wait to with his Barca Buddies (and I can’t blame him.
Theo for me has been a vast improvement from the past seasons and he can get better from the looks of things so please be patient with him.
Nasri too is a player we should keep as he’s another player that has upped his game this season.
Denilson and Diaby, no explanation required; one way tickets outta the Emirates IMO and Manuel Almoose to tag along!!
    Nuff said.

  6. arsenal fan says:

Mourinho has already bought a player for next season from dortmund for helping them win the league
    what is wenger waiting for

  7. jonny d says:

Sell mediocre players like Fabregas, Nasri, Walcott and Van Persie – always injured – bring in proven winners – the likes of Messi and Ronaldo and Xavi. Wenger should sell the defence now, with the exception of Vermaelen and bring in proven Premiership defenders. My choice would be Evra, Asley Cole – surely time to forgive – and to convert Diaby into a defender. Song is useless and must also go. In fact, the only players from the current squad we should keep are Wilshere and Szezeny, the rest are pretty much dead wood with no desire to play for the club. Buy Scott Parker and make him captain, bring in Gareth Bale and Ashley Young and we will have the nucleus of a side capable of winning anything. If Wenger won’t do this, he should go now.

  8. rico says:

arsenal fan – what i don’t understand is how jose has bought his players already, the transfer window is yet to open, same for the mancs when they bought their keeper..

T-Buzz, i’m not coninced re Gibbs either but i don’t think injury has helped, i’d send him on loan to bolton to train hard and toughen up a bit…

Clichy, i think he could be gone, stalling over wages and his form is off…

  9. T-buzz says:

Hi Rico, Iam good thanks. Back to work now after being off on paternity/annual leave so I now have time to myself…. 😉
    How u doing?

  10. rico says:

I’m good too thanks, bet it was hard going back to work leaving the little un.. 😉

At least we get you back again 🙂

  11. rico says:

jonny d, we wouldn’t pay enough for messi’s big toe and i don’t think fans would want cashley back…

‘mediocre players like Fabregas, Nasri, Walcott and Van Persie’ –

They are far from mediocre, they are the ones we need to be keeping…

  12. arsenal fan says:

i think atleast they get the contract signed form before n at start of the the window its the first thing that happens ,di maria transfer was the same last season before the window opened
plus dortmund dont have anything to play for they have won everything
    ps:Im fine

  13. T-buzz says:

Jonny D, as much I would love to see Messi and co as Arsenal players, even if it’s just for a Season, you and I both know it aint gonna happen unless AW is sacked and Pepe G takes his place.
Converting Diaby into a defender? You’re better off turning Almunia into striker, I dont quite see any defensive qualities in Diaby and he’s always looking like one tackle away from a straight red card or a long spell on the treatment table.
Evra is a ponce that hates Arsenal so I wouldnt even touch him with sh!t stick, Arsely Hole was a big loss but bridges burnt IMO.
I do agree that we need solid defenders at the back bcoz Kozz’r, Squill and DJ lately do not fill me with confidence. Sagna’s been great though…

  14. rico says:

makes a bit of a mockery of the window though, wonder who wenger will sign over the next few days 😉

    Back shortly…

  15. arsenal fan says:

even actally i dont know how the transfers are done but they are done!
    I think
1.cesc goes for 40mil plus deadwood for 20mil
    2.sign a striker benzema,cavani,barrios etc
3.defender for any cost i dont care
    4.player like hazard,pastore,goetze etc
5.imp: change in still of play
BUT hope even if does the 1st point correct for a start then there is hope

  16. T-buzz says:

arsenal fan, imagine Fabregas being sold to Real Madrid for £40m just to piss Barca off for all their shenanigans at the beginning of the season 🙂

  17. Steve Palmer says:

    Morning all,
    glad you smiled rico,
I think its safe to say this has not been our finest year, but at the end of the day, we will finish in the top 4 we got through to a cup final we beat Barca and we play Champions League next year, sure a shit year but we achieved more this year than last. Now before you shout my head off, ponder on this for a second, Wenger and Arsenal are not known for their excessive spending habits, and as much as some of you would love to see Messi and co in our new strip I can assure you this will not happen. Everyone of us has a plan that will make The Arsenal successful, but can you make them successful with limited funds. Now the reason I ask this question is because that is what Wenger will have to do , because Arsenal history is not about spending to much money, and it doesn’t matter how much you shout and scream about how much Arsenal are worth it will not change the way they do business. I have been so het up over our form and bad results I could see in my minds eye that the only way to change Arsenals ways was to lose Wenger, but installing a new manager would be a feeble ploy because he would have no money to work with either and could he guarantee Champions League football for fifteen years , so if your going to suggest ideas of change please bear this in mind

  18. arsenal fan says:

it will be good presently la liga is not as tough as the premiere league it will be good for him

  19. terry says:

hhahaha jonny d’s comment is fuckin hillarious….
sell mediocre players and look at the names he mentions … they r d best we have.

after a lot of analysis this is wht we should do i feel:

sell d crap and replace them:
    chamak- benzema
    rosicky- schweinsteiger
    denielson- melo
    diaby-schweinsteiger
    almunia- mannone (internal)
    squillachi- chelleni
    traore- pedro

    loan:
    jet (premier league)
    lansbury (premier league)
    afobe (championship)
    gibbs (premier league)
    miguel (championship or league 1)
    mayachi (dutch league)
wellington (it hink he should change his loan club)
gallindo (should change his loan club)
    francis c (continue with lorenr)
    frimpong (premier league)
vela (premier league) (he should be loaned till arshavin leaves the club when arshavin goes he should replace him and for christ sake arsahvin is a forward not a left winger)

these are the basic purchases we need to make … there jus replacements

now wht we need to buy is wingers.. that sumthing this team lacks.

wingers: charles nzogbia or asley young

  20. rico says:

    Hi Jayden

Although i am not the author of this post, my view is its about Wenger playing players in positions other than what appears to be their natural role..

Over the last couple of seasons…

    Eboue – left wing
    Theo – RW
    Nik – RW or LW
    Robin – LW
    Song – CH
    Denilson DM
    Diaby – LM

The list is endless, hence, Is TV a striker??

We don’t do the hit thing on HH, if the title is ‘different’ is about a bit of fun, thats all….

  21. Steve Palmer says:

Jayden sorry your confused, and no it was not for hits just a bit of fun as not a lot going on at the mo.

  22. rico says:

    Hi terry,

wishful thinking – but just imagine if you got what you asked for…

    If only, eh…..

I’m not sure on the loans though, but only my opinion, i’d like to see Lansbury and Frimpong involved in the squad, maybe Bartley too

  23. terry says:

i know its not gona happen but we need to sell those players and buy good players.

regarding the loans i would want lansbury, frimpong and bartley to develop into better players.
if they remain at aresanl all they will get is like 10-15 games and these players have the potential to make it big i dont want their growth to be halted … i think plying week in and week out will onli help them and they could join the team whe they are completely ready. we are ARSENAL the gratest club in the premier league we should not be risking our chances of winning by playing raw players … they need to prove it like wilshare did at bolton i.e. in the league that they are ready for our first team action.

for one i would include lansbury but frimpong and bartley need premierleague loans according to me.

  24. rico says:

NICKLAS BENDTNER wants answers from boss Arsene Wenger after admitting he is unhappy at Arsenal.

The Denmark international has not only become annoyed with his lack of action this season, but the striker is frustrated at being used out wide.

He looks likely to leave the club unless Wenger can guarantee he will become more involved next term.

He said: “I need to have a talk with him because I’m not satisfied with playing on the right wing, which I’ve done more or less all season long.

“I’m concentrating on getting the Champions League place, then we’ll do the evaluation at the end of the season.”

Bendtner, 23, does have a dream move in mind. He joked: “Is it a free choice? If so, I choose Barcelona. It would be a dream to play with Xavi and Iniesta.”

This is funny, he could warm their bench instead of ours….

  25. Steve Palmer says:

Any news on Ryo and he’s Visa rico not heard a great deal about him lately, and I would like to see him used where Theo plays

  26. Lee says:

It pisses me off Steve, we seem do all the ground work and be linked with these type of players and end up doing sweet f.a!!

  27. oliver says:

morning all…tongue-in-cheek, i see. if we want to bring tv back for the last couple of games – and i can see arguments for and against it – slot him in at cb, where he belongs, and drop jd, as i suggested in sunday’s post-match…let jd work on getting himself sorted out, he was utterly dreadful in our last two away games.

  28. rico says:

Hi oliver, just a bit of fun, we all needed it i think..

agree re JD, i think it’s a case of playing too much for his first season back after a long time out….

  29. oliver says:

i am wondering if he might not have been rushed back after the shoulder injury. regardless, he looks an absolute mess and can do with a match or two off to work on things.

it’s very late in the season and probably will not have that much impact on the final two games, but dropping a player who has struggled – and citing poor form (as opposed to an injury) as the reason that another player is getting an opportunity would be a step in the right direction for arsene…

  30. oliver says:

again, that is not to single jd out – a player who has had an overall excellent season, and is surrounded by players that have also let us down in the past several matches – but everything has a starting point. i see this as an opportunity to remind players that starting positions should not be taken for granted and that those who don’t perform are at risk of losing places…

the problem with that last sentence is that i don’t think that is how things work at the moment, at our club…another factor which contributes to our sustained inability to get over the hump.

  31. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Hi all!
Raul Meireles and Suarez will be almost we need.
I have a look to some comments and I think the goal is not fall down to League 1

  32. rico says:

I think you could be right too oliver, but then that has to beg the question, why did wenger buy Squillaci? If he is not trusted to come in for an injured player then what he doing with us?

Spot on too, we don’t seem to have a ‘play bad, get dropped’ way of thinking, not do we think about who we are facing, we play the same old way each game…

  33. oliver says:

rico, i think the easy answer is that squil has not been as good as arsene expected. that he was trusted earlier, but that arsene gradually lost faith with him…

  34. oliver says:

we’ll see…i personally doubt we will see any significant additions. i think some players will depart the club, and depth will be provided from the youth/reserves. perhaps a signing or two for adding depth.

  35. W.A.T.H says:

If wenger dont buy what we need by the end of June i’m going Barnet every other week.

Sell my season tkts to what ever mug wants them and i’m not paying a penny til the club gives us value for money simple as that and I’m not putting a penny into their pockets either they can get stuffed.

  36. oliver says:

so do i…i don’t think we can afford inertia. the clubs around us are not standing still…

i can think of two players – and i think that you know who i mean – who have regularly featured in the squad and occasionally started – who have effectively been frozen out…that suggests at least two departures to me…i think there will be others.

whomever we promote/sign, i don’t think it will make that much difference if arsene does not concede that he has gotten some things wrong for more than just this season, and changes some aspects of how we play and his man-management techniques. i think these are two big things that hold us back: getting too little out of most of our squad, and promoting a system that discourages accountability, de-emphasizes squad places on merit. if he cannot correct this, we are headed nowhere…

  37. rico says:

I don’t mind seeing a couple of reserves step up but at the same time we need at least three players far better than what we have…

    T-buzz, me too…

  38. Steve Palmer says:

Wath has hit it on the head with what he has said although that maybe a tongue in cheek moment but when Arsenal start to feel it in their pockets that’s when things will change, Speculate to accumulate and were not talking vast sums 2to3 players may just lift heads and start producing what we know the players can produce. lets face it a team that can finish in the top four is quite a feat in this league and with a little bit of fore sight it could have been so much better.

  39. oliver says:

i think any of us hoping for a lot of new signings will be disappointed. there may be some activity, but i think it will be supplementary in nature…

i won’t be particualarly disappointed – as long as we try and more out of what we got. i still believe we have many players who have been mis-managed and improperly utilized…the square pegs in round holes again…

  40. arsenal fan says:

    we need three players
1.defenger i want vidic hate united but love him
    2.schwienstiger,de rossi
    3.hazard type player

  41. W.A.T.H says:

SP wasn’t tongue in cheek at all mate the only prob with what I am doing is renewing my tkt to give to mates every game so they still getting the money in it just won’t be mine. Wait til that 30k on the waiting list actually get offered ST’s for over a grand Lee and lets see then how many take them up…. I bet a lot on that list will “pass”……!! That list is from yrs ago when we were still good and enjoyable to watch….!

  42. W.A.T.H says:

SP we also been saying that the last 3/4 seasons though mate, with a little foresight we could of won the league….. How many more times does wenger get to make the same mistakes over n over..?

  43. rico says:

It doesn’t stop at Wenger though WATH, how many more times will some of our players get their chance, i sometimes wonder if some of them think, ‘he doesn’t care so i wont’

surely though at some stage something has to give….

but, i reamin hopefull that 3 will be replaced, Eboue, Nik and Denilson. Not like for like position wise but sell them to buy the experience we need..

  44. Steve Palmer says:

Hi Wath, Things have changed from the old days where teams got in debt to win trophies, rubbing shoulders with foreign business men has taught English Directors that you do not need success to make money. Its blatantly obvious to the likes of us what needs to take place to turn an above average team to become successful, but it means investment, and Arsenal have made their intentions clear that this is not their priority. maybe its the loans that they want to pay off affects their decisions or maybe its a paying business thats ticking over quite nicely

  45. arsenal fan says:

Wenger says he knows what has to be done for next season n transfer plans have already started arent these statements coming when there is the time for th renewal of season tickets!Doesnt it happen everytime

  46. Steve Palmer says:

I have called for Wengers head now for several seasons believing that its he’s fault that we haven’t won anything, but when i sat back and analysed what he has achieved i can only congratulate his achievements fifteen years he has qualified for CL with lets face it limited resources, many have stated that he inherited players and that is the reason for his success but fifteen years with bits of kids and he still knocks out top four finishes is an achievement that will not be seen again from an Arsenal manager. My criticism has changed from Wenger to the board I believe he has been strangled with what he can and what he cannot do, and at sixty odd years old+ and six mill a year wages so would I

  47. rico says:

We’ll never know who is entirely at fault for the lack of funds Steve, maybe if Wenger leaves and tells all but he doesn’t strike me that kind of person and 6m a year would keep me quiet too…

He has to take some of the blame though, just take the purchase of Squilaci for example, how much did he pay for him?

How much extra would he have had to pay to get Samba last summer?

  48. arsenal fan says:

And if he thinks squillacis are type of experienced players we need then n he buys such players
    im scared thinking about it
    plus what is AKB

  49. Steve Palmer says:

Very true rico but what did he pay for Anelka Henry Adebayor and many more, he may be a Magician but not every trick works every time

  50. rico says:

Fair point there Steve but they were good 😉

Serioulsy, they were younger, he often gets it right with the young, it’s the older players he mucks up on – but then saying that, is it the scouts who are getting it wrong? They are the ones who are meant to be watching them…

  51. W.A.T.H says:

Don’t that make him a hypocrit Steve to take a huge salary and then be in on the decision to raise the ticket prices… WTF is that all about..?

He is very generous and lavish with his pay rises to very average players and then tells us we must pay to buy in the transfer market…? utter crap. Sell the crap you bought and overpaid would be a great start. The excuse of board or wenger for me Steve is they now one and the same, he bought into it got paid handsomely and played along with it.

  52. Steve Palmer says:

What gets me rico, is that he takes on these youngsters and we bring them along, not costing fortunes and when we know that they are not going to make the grade we tend to keep them, now I don’t understand why, they keep them on the edge of the first team and now and again they may get a game, we watch them and realise they don’t come across as future stars but we still continue with them.

  53. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Olivier
Is not in that sense (unfortunatelly…)
It is an example of how one can spend money in a profitable way.
Meireles was a player who had won everything in Porto internally. For his career and himself, is a rewarding international experience in another league, other challenges, Suarez, the same in Ajax.
Try another championship, another kind of football, other challenges, new opportunities. Join the triumph of ambition in another country are examples of players we need.
Liverpool are totally different. In my opinion, integrated in our team, we had almost all the problems solved. We needed the rear.
By the way, if we had gone to get these two players in January, perhaps we would not lament the lost titles …

  54. rico says:

He does it with them all Steve and it doesn’t make seanse at all, over pays them and plays them but they are not good enough – sort them all out and get rid of them, use the wage to play better players, use what we get for them to buy much better players – we all see it….

why can’t he, or his bosses….

  55. Steve Palmer says:

Well said JM, when there’s a need for strategic replacement it should be be done then and there, as for Squilakchi and Koshelney we needed them at the start and although in all honesty I had never heard of them before they have done a job, both have had their chances and Koshelney at the moment is probably the better Vermaelen getting injured was unfortunate and has made problems but as you rightly said that could have been rectified in January.

  56. rico says:

    Hi JM

Had TV not been injured I still believe Kos wouldn’t have played so much but for his first season in the PL he has got better and better, still not the finished article in my book but…

Coming from the league he was in, i think i may have expected to much to soon from him hence sometimes feeling let down…

But yes, January is probably when Wenger mucked up most, he knew TV wasn’t coming back, he had a chance to get the right defender in to see us finally win something – yet again he blew his chance…

Which brings me back to Samba 😉

  57. allezkev says:

So if TV had been fit in August Rico, who do you think the 1st choice centre-back pairing would have been?

  58. Steve Palmer says:

You may be right there Wath, but i still get the impression that he talks with fork tongue at times. his wages I must admit are very high and yes when players are not brought in through lack of funds seems amazing, but when you see us getting through to finals which in itself brings income and CL which is estimated at 30mill just to qualify and payments for each stage you get through makes his wage seem worth it to the club, where the rest goes is anyone’s guess

  59. rico says:

    Hi kev,

Our first few games was Kos and TV but had JD been fit, i think he may very well have partnered TV…

Marmite Wenger, you either love him or hate him… 😉

  60. rico says:

Steve, i’m beginning to have a worry about you, have you just applied for a job on the arsenal board 😉 😉

  61. oliver says:

city and the spuddies kick off in about three or so hours from eastlands. i imagine that some will secretly hope for a spuddies win in order to make city’s task of catching us that much more difficult…not me – no circumstance exists where i can bring myself to root for them…

we should secure third (or even second, which is still (faintly) within grasp) by winning our games. if we cannot get a result in either of these last two games, and slump to fourth as a result, well…we’ll have deserved it.

  62. oliver says:

good, neither do i. if city win these final three games and we don’t win ours, they will deserve to have snatched third spot from us, and it will be another indictment of arsene and players…

  63. oliver says:

not only have liverpool moved ahead of the spuddies, everton still have a chance of overtaking them. that would push the spuddies all the way down to 7th. unless i am mistaken, any finish below fifth means no european football next season. brum will play in the europa cup (possibly as a championship side!) next season, thanks to beating us at wembley. and if city finish in the top four, stoke will also be in europa, regardless of the fa cup final result…

we will have cl qualifying tie at a minimum. somehow, i do not think it is unreasonable to want and exepect more than just that from our side.

  64. rico says:

my sentiments too oliver, and if i’m honest, nicking second would do us no good either, it will be a false dawn….

  65. allezkev says:

Spurs in the Europa Lge isn’t a problem. More games to stretch their squad and stop them challenging for a top four spot.

  66. oliver says:

city drawing with the spuds suits us and city – in fact, i would not be surprised if mancini sets his side up to play for the point tonight.

still, i would feel best with spuds losing tonight and us winning our final two games.

  67. allezkev says:

The thing is Oliver, with Spurs out of europe, won’t they be nice and fresh and more of a threat, along with Liverpool ,for a top four place?

  68. allezkev says:

Arsenal may finish 3rd this season, but i suspect it’s gonna be a darn sight more difficult next campaign, especially if your prediction of Wenger sitting on his chequebook again this summer.

  69. Joaquim Moreira says:

    I hope the spuddies win.
We must try to get to 2nd place. It is important to the CL. Do not forget that last year, we were “heads-of-series” in the final 32. This year, with Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, Porto, MU, Bayern is hard … probably, Arsenal will not be there. Be 2, involves getting in the second “pot”. Anyone who stays at 4th, start playing earlier and may soon be eliminated.
Returning’s transfers: MU will be strengthened, Chelsea, will change the team but also have much money to do so; M. City, also has much money, Spurs won in the CL a lot of money and will reinforce the team; Liverpool, the team has structured already and maybe a little tune; Arsenal is a big mess. The idea is that, by the opinions and comments, everything is undefined. To help, there is a sign of discontent over rising prices. If the sum the players mentioned by fans as acquisitions, amounts to more than fifty; outputs in some cases, were less players that existing on the fingers of one hand. Apparently, AW continues.
But was it so bad? If we stay in 3rd, no worse than the previous year. We could have won? Yes that happens to be a champion team, not waste so many points in a row at home and away games, particularly in this time of the championship. We had the final of the League Cup. Bad lost. We are removed from MU in the FA Cup in Manchester. I think MU has not lost a single game at home this year (unlike Arsenal, who made a good championship away from home and a bad one at home). We went away from Barcelona by LC. Normal.
How many teams have won at Barcelona in LC? I think only Arsenal.
And how many teams in the league defeated the MU? Do you remember when MU had a first defeat in the league?
I have pointed to the case of Liverpool. They spent money, went for two players, who were actually two ribs. There are two advantages to the team that will probably be monetized this year, because Liverpool will reach the place in European competition. at the same time, the team has already structured for next year (strong candidate, in my opinion).
It has weaknesses? It has, but what matters is consistency that won, won a team, became a strong and cohesive team, scoring and respected, happy to play.
An investment in certain two players in two key positions.
In short: we do not have a “battalion” of players. Buy a lot of players, a team lost is balance, changes its structure and the benefits are rarely immediate.

  70. oliver says:

kev, i don’t think necessarily they would be. one could then argue that participating in the europa cup would give them the impetus and motivation to get back into the cl. they will try and get back into it, regardless of whether they finish 5,6, or 7.

if they win tonight, they substantially increase their chances of finishing fourth.

  71. allezkev says:

Oliver, i would imagine that the success Spurs had this season, in the CL, is impetus enough mate. But hopefully Harry becoming England manager should bugger them for another 20 years.

  72. oliver says:

can’t root for the spuds to win, sorry…i agree that we should do everything we can to finish second, but we will need to win out, have chelsea lose out, and make up a goal difference of minus seven. third is our likely finishing spot, same as last year…

  73. W.A.T.H says:

JM, what you say is very good but I think two players for us is not good, we need 3/4 and the problem at the moment is we currently have no balance which is also the problem. We need a few players that will also give us the balance and the quality in certain positions that we lack and for me at the moment as we have said before no leaders no balance no team… far to split up and fragmented, slow and precise but we go nowhere.

  74. rico says:

As for the swampies, ‘Arry is clever, talked a lot about citeh and how they will scare every team in the future, deep down he was making excuses for tonight if they lose….

3/4 WATH, and the rest 😉

  75. HCAA says:

    Hi all,

we don’t have a single natural winger at the club, which may or may not change depending on the work-permit situation with the kid at Feyenoord.

  76. W.A.T.H says:

3/4 quality and a few of the loanees back that are worth keeping the rest can be sold 😉

  77. HCAA says:

Listening to 5-live, apparently SAF has written in Rangers programme for tonights home game with Dundee Utd (Walter Smith’s last home game). He writes about how he nearly became Arsenal Manager in 1986, and whilst on WC duty with Scotland, he asked Walter Smith to work with him at Arsenal, but Smith had already accepted a job at Rangers.

  78. oliver says:

hcaa, miyachi seems to have played very well for feyenoord. i am not sure he will be ready for us next season. i see him as one for the future, not necessarily tomorrow.

    harry dropped gomes, it seems…

  79. JonJon says:

    im still not happy..
    those fuckers booed aaron..
    and we got beat 3-1..
    i need doctor..

have we really put ourselves in a position where we need spurs to win tonight????

from being pole position for taking the title we end up being 4th when it was a two horse race 12 week ago..

lol… only at arsenal..you couldnt make up this shit..

  80. rico says:

HCAA, was just reading that too… to think we could have had old red nose for 100 years…. phew 😉

  81. oliver says:

jj, i don’t think we need spurs to win tonight. if we cannot win our last two matches, and city overtake us, we won’t have deserved third place…

forget the spuddies, city or liverpool – if we can just, for once, take care of our own business – we’ll stay here in third.

  82. rico says:

you sure gomes is not ‘injured’ oliver 😉

hi jj, not for everyone, i certainly don’t want them to win…

  83. HCAA says:

    Rico,

we’d be a different club today. We’d definitely have a CL gleaming in the cabinet.

  84. oliver says:

rico, i think the official line is, yes, it is an injury…all i will say is that the (suspected) practice of using minor injuries to deflect potential questions over benchings in not limited to just arsene.

that said, i think we have had instances in the past where a frank, honest explanation of why a player was dropped – i’ll say almunia, strictly for argument’s sake – would have benefited everyone. for arsene, it would be a means to clearly and unequivocally communicate expectations to the dropped player AND the squad as a whole. for the player, it would be a form of accountability. for the fans, it would be confirmation that, accountability does actually exist in the dressing room…that is not throwing a player under the bus, its being honest, for the collective good.

  85. JonJon says:

oliver/rico if city go within 2 points of us with 2 games to go do u see us holding on??

how does wenger explain going from finishing 4th in a two horse race???
    lol
we are fucked and falling to bits and we need city to go away lol

i want city to smash em but i think we’ll finish 4th if they do..

  86. oliver says:

jj, if city win tonight and we don’t at least beat villa on sunday, i think they will overtake us. if they do, they will have earned it, and a slide to fourth will be one of the many costs of our lack of form…

should this scenario play out, i expect arsene to still characterize this as a good season, talk about the young squad, talk about the external factors which undermined our challenge and carry on as before.

surely, you don’t expect him to publicly come out and say that our season effectively ended on the afternoon of february 28th? some of the players – i think jack is one of them – have already at least implied such…i think that is accurate, but arsene will never concede that…we both know better than to expect him to, don’t we?

  87. oliver says:

it seems crouch put into his own net trying to clear…i thought that sort of thing only happened to us…

  88. rico says:

HCAA, i guess we’ll never know but you could well be right….

oliver, was jesting about gomes because that is was wenger does, always hide a ‘drop’ behind an injury…

jj, no is my answer, we hold on to a lead as well as i would hold on to a red hot poker… no chance…

  89. rico says:

you know guys, i am not sure i really care where we finish, avoiding the qualifiers would be better but to finish 4th may be another jolt for wenger…

2nd, 3rd, 4th, what does it really matter – for me 1st is all that counts and we won’t be that….

  90. oliver says:

rico, i don’t think arsene would consider fourth a jolt.

where ever we finish this season is where we will deserve to be. i think we are in the right slot right now, but if city (the only team who can) overhaul us, it will be because we allowed them to, and so we will deserve fourth in that instance.

  91. JonJon says:

    wenger said something had gone..

    whats gone?? where did go??

    you dont just ‘go’

and it wont come back if things stay the same…

we need a shake up wenger needs to kick some ass and show some balls this window cos i think this squad is fucked and we need a change

  92. oliver says:

jj, he conceded something vague without directly explaining it. even he cannot ignore how results have generally collapsed; he can, however, acknowledge something is amiss without explaining it directly.

it’s not much different from his “we have our plans and know what we will do comment”…implying action without specifying anything at all. his plans may entail absolutely nothing, with correpsonding action following…

  93. rico says:

oliver, he bloomin well should do, he doesn’t want us to play in the qualifiers so maybe 4th might make him think… not this season, but for next….

jj, for me, wenger let it go the day he let OUR club turn up at Wembley this season, dressed in tracksuits..

    utter disgrace….

  94. rico says:

on that note, i’m off for a cup of tea, bit of television and off up the wooden ones..

catch you all tommorrow, night night and enjoy the rest of the day…..

  95. W.A.T.H says:

Oliver, wenger comments the last few seasons at the end of the season are all pr crap and always he says we will buy the cheque book is out we will only buy super quality etc etc etc bla bla bla and now he’s started again… yes Arsenal you should have plans and you should know exactly who you want and need as the rest of us do…. Thing is its prob all hot air to get the season tickets renewed like normal…. promises of diamonds and we end up with coal…..!

  96. HCAA says:

Take care Rico. Do you think Wenger has the same sort of power at Arsenal as Abramovic has at Chelsea, WATH?

  97. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Hi all!
Hope to finish at least, 3tdh …
I’m going to have a cup of tea and watching football on Tv (spanish and english)
    see you tomorrow

  98. allezkev says:

Three days after the FA Cup Final [17th], Man City entertain Stoke at Wastelands. Five days later [22nd] they play at Bolton. They are only 2 points behind but have an inferior goal difference.
Arsenal have to beat Aston Villa and hope Man City draw at least one of their last 2 games because i’m not at all confident that our mob can win at Craven Cottage, or even draw. Mark Hughes would just love to put us into 4th…
    Goodnight JM

  99. W.A.T.H says:

Wenger has far to much power HC certainly not as much as Abramovitch cos he dont own Arsenal but he certainly is a one man dictator he seems to do as he pleases with noone to answer too, we’ll see if Stan is happy with that though. Evenin AK, See the way Kompany said after the game we think Arsenal will drop points………. They all see us as weak…!

  100. allezkev says:

Yeah mate, it’s a joke. We should be going into the last two games fighting it out with United, not sweating on City. Evening btw Wath

  101. W.A.T.H says:

Look at how physically big city are……… we used to be like that…! now we powder puffs…! mentally and physically…!

  102. allezkev says:

Man City have won 7 of their 18 EPL away games, and their record since Christmas isn’t very good.
Kompany can say what he likes. Considering the dosh thrown at his team i think he should kook in the mirror before commenting in Arsenal.
I think Man City will also drop points.

  103. W.A.T.H says:

Maybe he’s a pretty good kook for all we know 😉
They got 2 pretty easy games though mate…!

  104. W.A.T.H says:

I spoke to a mate of mine who used to play for us a few yrs back and he said to me did you watch that shit on sunday…? I said not really I was far to busy watching paint dry…! He said “fightless” we have no passion or pride but where does that come from..?

  105. allezkev says:

Wath, do you believe that Nasri, Cesc and Clichy ‘are’ injured..? Or do you think there is ‘more’ behind the reasons they’re out of the squad?
Maybe the team/squad vs Villa will enlighten us?

  106. W.A.T.H says:

Nas was obviously injured from the manc game as for Cesc n Clichy no idea mate, I reckon Nas stays n Cesc goes thats what my head and heart tells me…..!

  107. allezkev says:

Passion/Pride, it comes from the top Wath, the management.
Wenger seems to be losing his grip, and maybe the players are losing faith in him?

  108. Osi says:

I lost all hope the day we lost to Westbroam, I didn’t care about us finishing 2nd or 3rd. It doesn’t make any difference for me. But now after we lost to 2 stupid long ball teams I’m really worried. I really want Arsene to carry out some clear out in the summeer, raise money to add to our savings and buy some quality down t earth players who appreciate hard work.

We need to sell Fab, Bendtner and even Clichy and Nasri if they don’t play for us. I think for once we need to get rid of Clichy he’s too expensive and cost us so many points on his own.

  109. allezkev says:

If Cesc goes, the club will give Nasri whatever he asks for, and i agree Samir will stay [ frankly we cannot afford to lose him].
As for Clichy, i can’t say i’m really bothered. As long as the club get a reasonable screw for him.

  110. W.A.T.H says:

Clichy has gone backwards since he fucked up in the 4-4 yids game, he’s been a liability ever since….!
Players that dont want to be there can leave no problem its just will the manager buy what we need and its the 64million dollar question that for the last few seasons he hasn’t done but has always said big things before the transfer window and then done sweet fa………..

  111. W.A.T.H says:

Things is though AK as my mate said you shouldnt need the manager to motivate you all the time personal pride should mean u turn up and give 100%…!

  112. W.A.T.H says:

Clichy has a yr left on his contract and for a fullback I reckon top whack is maybe we get 6mil for him….! better than zero 12months lata

  113. allezkev says:

My son rang me today, about our season tickets. I’ve got two, but he and his mate use [pay for] them.
Arsenal, like you to re-new by the end of May. But i reckon you’ll be ok up to the middle of June. I can see a lot of fans holding on until the last minute to see if Wenger means what he said recently, or if he’s coming out with his annual pack of lies.
Some may decide to not bother re-newing at all, and who can blame them.

  114. Steve Palmer says:

evening all, i have left it a bit late so I may have missed you all,,Arsene after all his years here probably feels like lots of guys who have been in a job for many years, that he is part of the furniture but although he has done an excellent job for us, he is only the figure head, if it suited the board he would be discarded but who would they find to replace him and still bring in the revenue that he does. also the feeling I get is that supporters feelings are wearing thin, whether Wenger would want to take another managers job is something else, but with his track record of top four finishes and champions league football year after year, I don’t think he would be out of a job long. I honestly think that the board have kept the purse strings tightly drawn and are now being forced by supporters to invest in the team, as unrest on the terraces will affect them in many ways. bad publicity is not good for our sponsors and that is important to them so I expect to see money spent just how much depends on Wenger’s choices, but I doubt he’ll break the bank

  115. Osi says:

allezkev I want to keep Nasri as well but if hes refusing to renew his contracts and keeps not performing as he could then unfortunately there’s an attitude problem with him and we cannot afford anymore attitude problems. Arsenal is a big club and players should performe with guts to win us something.

W.A.h I not only fabregass has gone backwards but many other players have gone backwards as wel Clichy is a god example ofthat.

  116. allezkev says:

To be honest Wath, considering his recent performances, £6million is a good price.
    Hi Osi, how ya been?

  117. W.A.T.H says:

AK same as me re the ST’s…. I aslo got 2 but am giving them to mates next season I am not going in not giving them my money simple as that, I want value for money and that place is a rip off for what we get.

SP yep we all get bored in our job but if he feels bored or de-motivated then do the right thing. I believe the board didnt want to spend until we were taken over which was aplan from yrs back BUT that also means as I said earlier wenger was privy to this and went along with it. Lots of changes are needed, does he have the will the motivation and the stomach for it or has he actually had enough..? we will see very very soon.

  118. allezkev says:

    Hiya SP, good post today.
The Board at Arsenal have always been tight SP, you’ve been following Arse long enough mate to know that. So yes, i agree with you, those tossers hide behind Wenger and AW doesn’t have Dein to fight his corner anymore.
Will things change under Kroenke? I hope so. But a good start would be to get rid of that useless fat idiot Hill-Wood.

  119. allezkev says:

Osi, i know what your saying about Nasri, and yes, if he tried to take the piss, then selling him would be the only option. But hopefully a compromise will be reached.
Osi, i share your pain, AFC have been awfull

  120. allezkev says:

Wath, i think there is gonna be a lot of soul-searching among season ticket holders this summer. The economic climate will almost certainly force some fans into dumping their tickets, whilst those on the waiting list will have to weigh up a Grand+ to watch a team going nowhere as opposed to maybe putting bread on the table.

  121. Osi says:

    Need to go list:

    Fab: £35 to £40m
    Bendtner: £15-£20m
    Denilson: £4-£6 m
    Clichy: £7-10m
plus all on loan players. that would raise more than £millions and would allow us to buy 3 wordclass players; a striker, a midfielder playmaker and a defender in addition to other less quality but hard working players with winning mentaality and experience.

  122. W.A.T.H says:

Osi who in their right mind would pay 15/20 million for bendtner, we will be lucky if we get 10mil for him…!

Ak, will be interesting to see who off the waiting list will want to watch mediocrity for a grand plus a year, all well n good being on the list 5/6 yrs ago but now…. the proof is in the pudding I have head club level uptake has so far been very very poor…!
Every picture tells a story, a successful team on the pitch creates success off it as well seems our board can’t see that.

  123. allezkev says:

Hi JJ, i’ve never heard you as pissed-off as you’ve sounded these last couple of days mate. It’s not good is it?
Osi, that looks a good list mate, not sure we’d get as much as that for Bendtner, but you could be right…

  124. Osi says:

most clubs are with relative right mind (no mind at the moment) pay more than 15-20 for shit players less capable than our great Dane.

  125. W.A.T.H says:

Ak, JJ is always a miserable fucker he’s had his green lycra hotpants nicked off his washing line….

Osi, As for Denilson we’ll be even lucky to get a fiver for him and pay for his taxi to the airport..!

  126. allezkev says:

Wath, only when they are hurt in the pocket, will they open the purse strings. I hope all the posh seats blow them out. Then those assholes might have a bit more regard for us plebs in the cheap seats. Cheap seats…… now THAT is funny [ironic]

  127. JonJon says:

sell nikki and chamakh get benzema
sell aa and rosicky get hazard
sell denilson and diaby get de rossi
sell clichy and troare get baines
sell squidge and eboue get jageilka
    sell almunia get buffon..

    get a defensive coach..

    no messing about this time

  128. W.A.T.H says:

Osi, My mates Great Dane is most definately better than our Dane and that useless tosspot def aint great 🙂

He does have a very vivid and wonderful imagination though I’ll give him that…. Can you imagine the Barca lot reading he wants to play for them…????

    What a delusional knob….!

  129. Osi says:

Bayern were interested in Bendtner and when we see Bent going for more than 23millions I would bet against bendtner going for 15Plus. I believe Bendtner is talented and can score more than he did for Arsena. If he wasn’t able to score more for Arsenal it is because he didn’t fit into our philosophy of passing side ways and not crossing.

  130. allezkev says:

Wath’ you paint a picture of JJ that i didn’t really imagine, him coming from Oop NOORTH. But if he likes lycra, well i’m broad minded, i won’t take the piss out of a fellow Gooner.

  131. Steve Palmer says:

Cheers kev hope your erections stayed up,
as for Hill Wood i agree but i get the feeling that he is also a figure head and i would think his days are numbered share holder are being urged not to sell their shares to the yank but in this climate I can see him get what he wants sooner or later, whether that equates to more funds I wouldn’t like to say but I honestly don’t think that trophy’s are that important to him. And Wath I can see Wenger being manager for quite a while yet, I don’t believe he has had enough yet, when he misses a CL qualifier that’s when I think we will see him go, he has always struck me as a records type of guy, maybe not cups because of the restrictions but records i think are his thing

  132. W.A.T.H says:

We won’t get a defensive coach we won’t sell nearly as much deadwood as we all know needs to be booted out and we won’t buy what we need.

I’m resigned to three more yrs of wenger crap and lies and excuses and maybe in that time we will see if Kronke has any balls or not to hold wenger accountable thats of course if he gives wenger the money in the bank and lets him spend IF he sells the crap.

  133. JonJon says:

    haha wath..
no kev its not good this squads a joke and its time was up a few seasons back
wenger just kept spinning his web though..
not any more not this summer i want to see this squad sorted out before the first kick of the new season..

  134. Osi says:

Denilson is worth about 2m if sold to clubs in their right mind in Brazil, but in Europe no club is on their right mind. my pricing strategy is based on the market of football transfers which is at the moment very inflated, it has nothing to do with the quality of the players I’m selling. I could have inflated te price of Fab, but the thing is that FAb is wanting badly to get out which will affect his price.

  135. W.A.T.H says:

AK, JJ is a very secretive Village People groupie…. Enough said….!

Osi, your right that bendtner would maybe be better if played correctly as a centre forward and not a left or right winger but still think he’s very average, bent at least scores goals bendtner seems to find a way of missing them.

  136. W.A.T.H says:

I’d of got Samba in Jan JJ he’d run through a brick wall for you and thats exactly what we aint got…. You’ll laugh but I’d get Samba , Johnson from Brum and Cahill….! three no nonsense centre halves who will spill blood for the shirt…!

  137. allezkev says:

SP,i’ve had more erections over the past few days, than i’ve had for ages, it certainly gets the blood pumping mate, and i sleep so well afterwards. 5 down, 4 to go.

  138. W.A.T.H says:

Don’t go getting all shy and embarassed JJ it’s ok we accept you the way you are…! Greem lycra hot pants with purple spangles, Rico told me you sent her the pic and asked her opinion 😉

  139. JonJon says:

    its not green wath
    it lime..
    and it aint purple either..
    its pink

    neon lime and neon pink..
    80’s wham style..tight white shorts..

  140. allezkev says:

JJ, i can’t say i was a big Samba fan, but i’m warming to him. Still prefer Cahill though.

  141. Osi says:

anyways we need t sell these players to raise money and buy quality committed and hardworking players instead.

  142. W.A.T.H says:

Sorry JJ didnt mean to mess up your vivid colour scheme……….

De Rossi in Englans would spend 60% of games suspended and he’s not hard he’s just a dirty snidy prick, anyone gives him a proper dig he dont like it….! We want battle hardened warriors who know what playing in England is all abt…!

  143. Steve Palmer says:

Right i’m off to get in the old womens tights , its the only thing that holds my gut in Nte all

  144. allezkev says:

Ha ha ha. Erections, lycra, tight white shorts. I’ll have to watch Bang Babes on TV before i go to bed at this rate.

  145. W.A.T.H says:

when u read shit like that from Bendy u realise why he’s so crap, he just thinks he’s the dogs testicles….! how can a player who thinks he’s so good actually put in a shift, he’s obviously far to good for us already.

  146. W.A.T.H says:

We are a world wide force HC we are the most expensive team to watch surely that counts for something…?

  147. allezkev says:

JJ/Wath, all that Bendtner crap just about sums him up. i couldn’t believe it when i read that Wenger was going to have a chat with him to persuade him to stay. Why?? If Wenger rated him, why then does he stick him out on the wing. Unbelievable…

  148. W.A.T.H says:

AK, now I do take that comment with a pinch of salt, Thats typical wenger bullshit and pr peacekeeping, no way will he tell him to stay I reckon. I reckon he’s one of the first out the door and I think we all have a whip round for a bye bye card….

  149. allezkev says:

HCAA, to be fair to Wenger, the Arsenal of 15 years ago is light years away from todays version. We aren’t that far off, and that’s what does my head in, if only Wenger would spend a few quid more, we might have picked up 2 or 3 trophies since 2006.

  150. W.A.T.H says:

JJ, I remember yrs back after his loan with Brum and we took him back a mate of mine’s brother in law is Brum and he said bendy was a big gangly lazy piece of piss………. pretty much got it bang on didnt he….! Wenger has just pampered the ego and fed it… he should of been told pull finger or your sold simple, along with a few others who should of been told exactly the same.

  151. allezkev says:

Wath, i really hope your right. To me Bendtner, Denilson [of course] and Eboue out the door. All of them very very lucky to have worn an Arsenal shirt, but it time to go chaps.

  152. JonJon says:

the only reason why nikki wants first team footy is cos wenger has been paying him silly money to be shit and nikki thinks cos hes a star now that guarnatees him a spot
it doesnt mate just score the goals
    then you get the reward…

  153. HCAA says:

That much is true WATH – agree with you on the CB’s –
but I’m sure he meant from a football perspective, like all the other major clubs would fear us.

  154. allezkev says:

    Yeah goodnight JJ
As it goes, i’ve got a hot date tomorrow. With a 9ft concret post and some sand & cement, so i’ll bid you all goodnight.
