Morning all,

It’s the time of the season that seems to come round every year and it’s usually just after Cesc Fabregas has his birthday.

For many people its Easter, Christmas, Bank Holidays but in this case its Cesc Fabregas Day.

Even before the season is over, speculation about our fine Captain begins and in all honesty it’s not his fault.

As far as I know, Fabregas has not come out and said that he wants to leave at the end of this season publicly, so why is it that at this time of year all the hype starts and fans get duped into thinking that Cesc wants away?

I have noticed that a minority of fans are now accepting Fabregas day as the norm and they are slowly getting brainwashed into believing that we can get along without him.

All I have to say that we probably could, but why should we?

Reading newspapers and other Arsenal websites, it seems you don’t have to look that far for a story about our charismatic leader. He’s homesick, missing his family or some  other kind of nonsense. This must be so annoying for a man who has only really wanted to ply his trade here.

He made the fatal mistake of saying that he had dreamt of playing football for his he’s beloved Barcelona one day. Since he said that, Fabregas day came into being.

Now most ordinary players, myself included dreamt of playing for a certain club. Some are lucky enough to fulfil their dream, others like myself, were never good enough. In Fabregas’s case he is good enough, in fact at 24 years old he would be quite a steal and if that came to pass we would have lost a remarkable talent.

I have read supporters blogs and the majority of them are reporting that what Arsenal need is experienced players to cover some of the positions that they feel is an Arsenal weakness. Experienced players that can blend with what we have and form a resolute force in the league we play in.

Fabregas is one of those experienced players, so why should we want him to go?

If anything we should be singing his name out and showing him that he is at the right club and letting him know that its imperative he stays and finishes the work he has worked so hard for.

Yes we have a need for experienced players and yes in my opinion they would help our team to have belief in themselves but definitely not at the expense of our longest-serving player. I want him in the mix, using the experience he has learned at The Arsenal and passing it on to the other young Gunners in our squad.

It has to be said that Fabregas has not had his best season with us, he has suffered quite a few injuries and has missed quite a few games. He has also been rushed back after injury because he was needed and that resulted in him breaking down and letting the team down.

I believe he came back to quick, and that has resulted in his injuries progressing and taking that much longer to get over, a rest in the close season should see him back to full fitness and back to the player we all admire and respect.

I do hope that Arsenals penny-pinching board have not seen our Cesc as an easy alternative for funding the experienced players that supporters are shouting for, rather than putting their hands in their pockets and spending some of the money that the supporters put there in the first place.

Cesc deserves to be our Captain and he deserves our support.

Fabregas in my eyes is at the right age to lead us into one of the brightest spells in Arsenal history, with a couple of new signings we could be on the threshold of something special.

Lets not get rid of experience just add to it and sit back and watch it unfold.

Instead, let’s  keep Cesc and watch he and his team pick up those coveted titles and tell Barcelona they can keep their money!
