Dutch Master waiting in the wings – Leave Ryo Miyaichi where he is?

Going on from the talk about who should play at which level for their country, I was looking around to see who from our club is making an impact at under 17 level.

One name stood out and that was Kyle Ebecilio, Dutch Number 6 below. ( That was my number in my playing days πŸ™‚ )

Just what is it about Orange?? .....

Kyle arrived at Arsenal from Feyenoord in 2010 and in February this year our club announced that he had signed his first professional contract.

No doubt many of us thought, β€˜woopee’, another kid signed on, another big wage to pay but this kid seems to have what it takes. He’s from a footballing family; he has a brother at Ajax and a cousin at Chelsea so it’s obviously in their blood to play the game we all love.

His brother Lorenzo is a proper winger, could be worth thinking about πŸ˜‰

I digress – Kyle was signed from Feyenoord, the club that now has many players representing their country at under seventeen level, the club that our very own Ryo Miyaichi is on loan to at the moment.

Kyle Ebecilio has just helped his country to a 2-0 victory over Germany, the same Germany that everyone bleets on about being the greatest right now in the way they bring through their youth players.

The game was at 1-0 until four minutes from the end but then Anass Achahbar played Kyle Ebecilio a ball behind the defence and our boy calmly finished to clinch a 2-0 win.

He said it was β€˜a goal made at Feyenoord’.

Ebecilio may have left the Rotterdam club to join us last summer but Feyenoord still had five players representing their country. He had this to say after the game:

It was a difficult game but the team worked hard and we did very well, I worked hard too but in the first half I didn’t play so well, I was much better in the second half. It was a good goal, I used to play with Anass at Feyenoord, and we used to do that a lot.

Kyle was a regular in the qualifying rounds to this competition until he was sent off in the last game against Ukraine. The Netherlands were already through, he missed three games in the elite round. This in turn meant he had to follow the tournament in Rotterdam from afar and it was a nervy affair for our man.

I was very thankful to the team that they made it through the elite round and I’m happy to be back in the squad for the finals. I couldn’t see the games in Holland but one of my team-mates was calling me all the time when there was a goal or something.

The Dutch coach,Stuivenberg was delighted to be able to turn to Ebecilio again.

He was very important, especially against Emre Can from Germany, a very strong player, both with the ball and physically. He is the only one that could really compete with him so I am happy that he is back.

Ebecillio now believes the team are together after losing a friendly against Can.

We lost 2-1, but that was our first game all together as the national team,. It was quite difficult. Now the team are playing much better than before. Everyone is now a team player and we work for each other, we know what to do on the pitch.

Kyle may only be seventeen years old but the way his career is going, it won’t be too long before we see him playing for the first team, he has already played a few games for the reserves. Isn’t it just a shame he’s not five years older…

Ryo Miyaichi is currently on loan at Kyles old club – he’s only eighteen years old and until he gets his visa, he cannot join us.
This season to date he has played in eleven games, scored three goals and set up four, not bad really for such a young one.

Looking at how many players from Feyenood are already representing their country at under 17 level, would it be wise to try and bring Ryo back this summer, or would it make more sense to leave him where he is for one more season?

After all, we know one player who came from there don’t we and he’s pretty good these days….

Finally, speculation is mounting that Thomas Vemaelen will return to the side to face Stoke City on Sunday, while Fabregas, Djourou and Nasri are still doubts. No doubt Wenger will tell us more during his press conference.

That’s it folks, have a good day……

Morning.

It is great hearing about all these prospects but how many come up to the premier league and are truly ready to perform at the highest level straight away? Most of them take a season or two and frankly, we don’t have that time now.

I see the Jones boy at Blackburn is making noises about us, problem is, he is 19 and again, inexperienced. We need players in the 25 – 28 age group who have done it at the highest level.

Ryo has had a v.good debut in the Dutch league.

However I believe he needs more time, maybe another season at Feyennord to fine tune his game and he needs to bulk up…too slight for the EPL.

He’s at least 2/3 years from playing for our 1st team. He can beat a man, has gr8 pace. He’s lacking that final ball into the box to the striker. If he gets that right he’l be a hell of a player.

What’s amazing is that he went straight from a schoolboy team to Feyennord!!!! He has impressed the club…..management and supporters love him.

But boy he has talent..love his playing style. Really want him to play for Japan in the Copa America. I thought Japan were a really good side in the World Cup and they’r going to have an amazing team in the nxt world cup with players like Honda/Kagawa/Miyachi ;-).

How good is Jones? Tbh I haven’t been following Blackburn much (does anyone?)

I really believe that we need 1 CB this summer. He has to a beast like Cahill. Like I said before we need an English CB to instill some grit and spirit in this side.

However a lot of other teams are now circling around Cahill – L’pool & Man City. However he’d be a fool to go to City for the money because he would struggle to get a game.

L’pool aren’t going to be in the Champions League so we are the right choice but we need to go for him.

I haven’t enough of Sakho to praise/recommend him. But I believe we need Cahill.

Verminator is fit I believe. He’l be a welcome addition to our defence. I wonder who drops out? Kozzer/JD?

This is true Rico.

The kid does sound good, I am not too sure about Ryo and his pace, in the video’s I have seen of him, he never blasts past players.

I agree, Cahill.Age and experience.

Rico

yes a season in the Championship would do him a world of good, because in this division you have little time on the ball and if you hang on to it for too long you’re going to get fouled and the referees in the British Isles are not as stern as they are in Europe.

On a side note, I tried to watch the Championship for about a month. I must say the quality of football was horrendous. The ball was always in the air, long balls/hoof it up/kick and rush…pretty awful stuff really. Also so many rough tackles it was unbelievable. But one season here and it’d definately make a man out of a young player πŸ˜‰

The mancs are in their 3rd CL final in 4 years…you’d think a team containing cesc/rvp/nasri/jack/AA would be the one with such a record not one having fletcher/anderson/carrick/park/Gibson.its really not rocket science;we have quality and lots of it but we need more grafters.red nose sure does know how to mix and match his players.

We really need to step it up both domestically and in Europe.Silvio Berlusconi has said they are building a team (AC Milan) to win the CL next year.Bayern aren’t resting on their laurels either.red nose has said he’ll buy 3 players.pool/chavs/city/spuds will spend.we have to follow suit.its not right that a club of our stature has won f*ck all in Europe.

Re. Miyachi

Although Walcott is faster, Miyachi has got very good dribbling skills and is a natural winger. Walcott for me is a striker – he’s got the pace and is lethal!

Will
Will

So if we can get JJ’s favourite player – Hazard and add that to Ryo and Theo with Rvp, Nasri, Jack and Cesc’s passing ability. We should look good going forward.

I see the media are protecting the thugs again.

Stoke City’s Ryan Shawcross has stressed that any negative reaction from Arsenal fans still angry about the leg breaking challenge which ruled Aaron Ramsey out for a year will not deter him for performing on the pitch this Saturday.

The centre-back has already faced the Gunners at the Emirates since the incident in early 2010 and insists that he is fully focused on maintaining the Potters good run of form ahead of a the FA Cup final on 14th May.

Reflecting on his treatment in North London, Shawcross told The Sun:

“I got booed and abused when I went there and it didn’t really affect my game.

“If anything, it spurred me on to play better. I’m sure I’ll get more of the same this time but I’ll be able to deal with it.

“Our fans and players love putting one over on Arsenal. There’s a bit of a rivalry there because of past games, and the fans will be as loud as they always are when Arsenal come to the Britannia.

“We want to put on another good performance and we look at it as a game we can win.”

To add extra intrigue to a usually feisty battle, Aaron Ramsey is being tipped to retain his place in the Arsenal starting line-up having scored the decisive goal against Manchester United last Sunday. The Welsh international looks set to continue in place of Cesc Fabregas who is struggling to recover from a thigh problem.

Will

I can see Kroenke doing it. We have far too many players who are plainly not good enough.

I think we should give Shawcross the silent treatment when he gets the ball.

KM
KM

Yes, these thugs – Shawcross/pulis etc are always been praised/sheltered by the media because they are one of their ‘own’.

I really despise teams who play negative football and the managers that practice it.

from a daily sport’s newspaper:
Arsenal, is attentive to the Brazilian midfielder Willian Shakhtar Donetsk and can move for his signature if Samir Nasri left the team at season’s end.
The French international has several interested in your football. There is talk of big clubs like Inter Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea.

and more from the some newspaper:
Fabregas is a priority for Real Madrid
Jose Mourinho is already preparing the next season with Real Madrid and is now a big target: Cesc Fabregas.
The English press today announces that Real Madrid would be willing to pay 40 million euros for the Arsenal captain.
It can be a struggle for two in Spain to buy the midfielder since the Barcelona repeatedly shown interest in Fabregas.

Hi!
It’s a little more of the “war”between Barcelona and Madrid!
For the media, a great club, is one that has money and win titles … losing or even going shopping. Madrid had not won anything for years but was always considered a big club (that is, in fact);Juventus, the years that gains nothing and had to play in 2nd division from other causes, too; most European media, don’t know what was Chelsea before Abram, but the power of money has become much stronger.
There will be a lot of speculation but the crisis is widespread. And the crisis is also of assistance, sponsorship, merchandising …
Wait and see. The newspapers also have to sell and launch sensationalist headlines.
Today, the most important are the semi-finals of the League Europe. πŸ™‚

Well according to my source this is correct and that are two further bids on the table from Barca and Inter. This has been on going since the week before Danny Fizman died. Not saying Cesc will go this summer (it’s all about valuation by Arsenal) but it looks extremely likely and personally I would rather it happened this Summer than next year.

We must sell Cesc now for as much as we can get (a) because his heart has not been at AFC for a season and (b) because he has shown a tendancy to hamstring out from Dec onwards. With the money we get buy Benzema and Chellelini from Juve. The by adding Frimpong and Kocielny to DMF we have a great future.

Sorry one other caviet….we must have the guts to clear out the failures by June….ie; Denilson, Diaby, Almunia, Clichy, Eboue, Squillaci, Rosicky, Bentner. With this lot sold we have a big increase in buying money and we save a fortune in wages…..JOB DONE!
