Cesc Fabregas Day, it come's round every year……

Morning all,

It’s the time of the season that seems to come round every year and it’s usually just after Cesc Fabregas has his birthday.

For many people its Easter, Christmas, Bank Holidays but in this case its Cesc Fabregas Day.

Even before the season is over, speculation about our fine Captain begins and in all honesty it’s not his fault.

As far as I know, Fabregas has not come out and said that he wants to leave at the end of this season publicly, so why is it that at this time of year all the hype starts and fans get duped into thinking that Cesc wants away?

I have noticed that a minority of fans are now accepting Fabregas day as the norm and they are slowly getting brainwashed into believing that we can get along without him.

All I have to say that we probably could, but why should we?

Reading newspapers and other Arsenal websites, it seems you don’t have to look that far for a story about our charismatic leader. He’s homesick, missing his family or some  other kind of nonsense. This must be so annoying for a man who has only really wanted to ply his trade here.

He made the fatal mistake of saying that he had dreamt of playing football for his he’s beloved Barcelona one day. Since he said that, Fabregas day came into being.

Now most ordinary players, myself included dreamt of playing for a certain club. Some are lucky enough to fulfil their dream, others like myself, were never good enough. In Fabregas’s case he is good enough, in fact at 24 years old he would be quite a steal and if that came to pass we would have lost a remarkable talent.

I have read supporters blogs and the majority of them are reporting that what Arsenal need is experienced players to cover some of the positions that they feel is an Arsenal weakness. Experienced players that can blend with what we have and form a resolute force in the league we play in.

Fabregas is one of those experienced players, so why should we want him to go?

If anything we should be singing his name out and showing him that he is at the right club and letting him know that its imperative he stays and finishes the work he has worked so hard for.

Yes we have a need for experienced players and yes in my opinion they would help our team to have belief in themselves but definitely not at the expense of our longest-serving player. I want him in the mix, using the experience he has learned at The Arsenal and passing it on to the other young Gunners in our squad.

It has to be said that Fabregas has not had his best season with us, he has suffered quite a few injuries and has missed quite a few games. He has also been rushed back after injury because he was needed and that resulted in him breaking down and letting the team down.

I believe he came back to quick, and that has resulted in his injuries progressing and taking that much longer to get over, a rest in the close season should see him back to full fitness and back to the player we all admire and respect.

I do hope that Arsenals penny-pinching board have not seen our Cesc as an easy alternative for funding the experienced players that supporters are shouting for, rather than putting their hands in their pockets and spending some of the money that the supporters put there in the first place.

Cesc deserves to be our Captain and he deserves our support.

Fabregas in my eyes is at the right age to lead us into one of the brightest spells in Arsenal history, with a couple of new signings we could be on the threshold of something special.

Lets not get rid of experience just add to it and sit back and watch it unfold.

Instead, let’s  keep Cesc and watch he and his team pick up those coveted titles and tell Barcelona they can keep their money!

Morning all, top read Steve, thanks…

I totally understand where you are coming from, we all want experience, yet Cesc is one of our most experienced so why do so many fans want him out…

I just think many fans are fed up ‘waiting’ for the day he returns to Spain and rather than prelong the agony, get it over and done with and move on.

  2. rico says:

The online gooner article is interesting, i’d love to know how he knows the deal ‘is done’

  3. Adam says:

Rico. He has a crystal ball. If Cesc leaves to go to Real Madrid he will probably, though not certainly, play under Mourinho for at least one season. So, he will be subject to the boring negativity of that man’s ideas and footballing philosophy. He will not know who will be his manager in the future and it would be doubtful that he would ever get his wish to play for Barcelona. I am not saying that it won’t happen but if it does he will be leaving Arsenal under a bit of a cloud I feel. Perhaps Barcelona simply will not pay what Arsenal want. At this stage, who knows.

  4. VanMoulds says:

    Morning,
    nice post.

All I have to say that we probably could, but why should we?

EXACTLY, we are one of the best sides in the world and we want to be number 1! so lets not sell our players to the catalan cockends!
Excited by who Wenger will bring in this Summer, what about Micah Richards anyone?? can play centre back, big, strong, quick, Arsenal fan and would be cheaper now.

  5. Adam says:

Jayden. That’s why I said he would be leaving under a cloud. For a Catalan it would be like saying he wants to get away and anywhere will do.

  6. rico says:

Hi guys, i don’t think so Lee and JP, no way will Cesc play for Real Madrid, thats like one of us supporting the yids 😉

george, not quite but it could do this weekend if we get three points 🙂

  7. Jayden Price says:

    Yes, absolutely, Adam.

fwiw – I 100% don’t but that OG story, its Barca or Arsenal.

  8. rico says:

Hi VanMoulds, i was all for selling him to be honest and wenger using the money to strenghten, only because i believe cesc is getting a bit of a crock but Steve’s post has made me think…

  9. rico says:

Adam, Cesc has always said he would only leave us for Barca, no matter much any other club offer us, the decision remains with the player…

And our player only wants us or barca…

  10. Adam says:

Couldn’t agree more Rico. But who knows what has gone on behind the scenes and in Cesc’s life. I will wait and see what happens. Cesc of course could put it all to bed early by saying that he isn’t going anywhere. We can be absolutely sure there will be many conspiracy theories with sites like Metro, Caught offside, Goal etc leading the way. These will be accompanied by hundreds of articles as to why Arsenal will be better off without him. That is what I see in my crystal ball, unfortunately.

  11. rico says:

We’ll soon see I guess Adam, and there is little we can do about what happens….

One thing though, if he is to go, i hope it’s done early…

  12. rico says:

West Ham co-owner David Gold claims they would be prepared to sell the club’s England stars if they suffer relegation.

That would mean losing Footballer of the Year Scott Parker, as well as goalkeeper Robert Green, Matthew Upson and Carlton Cole at the end of the season.

    Go get Scotty Parker Arsene

  13. caffeinenut23 says:

I’m not going to believe anything about any transfer until it comes directly out of Cesc Fabregas’s mouth. Until then, it’s all speculation, since he has to agree to any transfer.

  14. W.A.T.H says:

Perhaps Cesc has been told Pep is taking over at Real and now he’s all happy and filled with love for Real and he’s off………………

    😀

  15. Will says:

Emmanuel Frimpong is hoping next season can be an improvement on this year for both himself and Arsenal as the teenage midfielder continues his recovery from injury.

The 19-year-old was hoping to be involved during the current campaign after featuring in the Gunners’ pre-season before a serious knee injury in training ruled him out until his return to the reserves last month.

The Ghanaian-born player admits he endured a difficult period, at times fearing he may be left behind and even questioning whether he would ever return.

At the same time Frimpong watched from the sidelines as the Gunners lost the Carling Cup final and then tumbled out of contention in the Barclays Premier League, FA Cup and the Champions League.

Frimpong told Arsenal TV Online: “Next season could be Arsenal’s season and next season could hopefully be my season.

“I am quite confident if I don’t get injured I can do something big.

“You have to stay injury free, sometimes it is just down to bad luck. Hopefully next season I’ll have a good year and won’t get injured.”

While Arsenal visit Stoke on Sunday, the match is followed by the clash between Manchester United and Chelsea.

Frimpong admits that although the Gunners have a small glimmer of hope, the title is likely to end up at either Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge.

“There is hope but if you have to be honest you have to think either Manchester United or Chelsea are going to win it,” he said.

“There is still hope, I’m sure the players aren’t going to go on to the pitch and think they are just going to play for second or third, they are still going to fight to the end. That is what the manager has been saying.”

He added: “Most people did think Arsenal would win something this year but that’s football, you can never rest on your laurels.”

As for his own travails since August, Frimpong admits to having had self-doubts.

“At the start it was very tough because sometimes I thought I might not even come back and play again so hard when you see players going out and training, you don’t know what to do with yourself.

“It was tough and hard to get over it.”

He added: “When you’ve been injured for so long the club isn’t going to be waiting around for you to get fit.

    “They have to move on.

“That’s where sometimes it was tough because people are looking to take over your place even though they are old friends.

“Everyone is here just for their own career so when you are back training you just have to put in your whole effort and see how things pan out.”

Of manager Arsene Wenger, Frimpong said: “He’s a great manager, that’s why he has been at Arsenal for so many years.

“Knowing the type of manager he is he will give you the chance so I just have to train well and do well on the pitch.

“He doesn’t really talk a lot but when he does he does make sense.”

  16. Joaquim Moreira says:

Cesc, Nasri and Diaby out for sunday.
    Vermaelen may come back.
    Clichy it depends…
Guardiola and Mourinho maybe out of theirs clubs next season.
And transfer windows still open… specially for many speculation and few certainties.

  17. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Porto-Braga, Europe League final.
    geographical distance: 55 kms
Flying to the final: 1350 km (Dublin).
Notes: Porto again lost out to European competitions – the last was on March 9, 2010 with Arsenal.
The “arsenalistas” (Portuguese media) (Braga) defeated Celtic in Seville, Arsenal, Liverpoll, D. Kiev and Benfica.
    We are everywhere! 🙂

  18. rico says:

He added: “When you’ve been injured for so long the club isn’t going to be waiting around for you to get fit.’

Unless your name is Denilson or Diaby 😆

  19. rico says:

    Sure seem to Will

Frimpong should spell the end of Denilson though, lets hope he stays injury free – i think he will be the reason wenger won’t buy a midfield beast….

  20. Will says:

I don’t see how Denilson will get a game with Cesc, Nasri, Jack, Rambo, Frimpong, and AA in front of him.

  21. rico says:

And Lansbury next season Will, he has hardly played this season, surely he will leave next month…

  22. W.A.T.H says:

Re:Parker, Nope he’s a yid Rico and his whole family so I reckon thats where he will end up and they did try to get him last season as well.

  23. Joaquim Moreira says:

Will, is Arsenal of Sarandi and the history is very interesting. Sarandi is close Avellaneda, place of the two of most important Argentina Clubs: The Independiente and the Racing. The founding members of Sarandi, were supporters of Independiente and Racing, and time to decide what equipment and the emblem of the club, decided by the colors of Independiente and Racing, and about the name, inspired in Arsenal London

  24. rico says:

Depends if he wants a chance to play CL football WATH 😉

Tiny Totts won’t be in it next season at this rate…

  25. rico says:

Didn’t realise Ashley Young has only one year left on his current contract at Villa…..

  26. allezkev says:

    Afternoon Gooners
Good post by StevieP. Gotta say i tend to think Cesc could be saying adios to us this summer.
Re: Frimpong, we’ll also have Coquelin competing for a m/f slot, so double the reason to get shot of Denilson.
Rico, would you like A.Young @ AFC? Hi btw

  27. allezkev says:

That report in the Daily Hill-Wood, Rico they mentioned 45mill, was that Euros or Sterling? 45million Euros is about £38million, isn’t it?

  28. allezkev says:

As for West Ham’s clear-out, the only West Ham player i’d take is Jack Collison [if he’s 100% fit].

  29. allezkev says:

What’s the betting those Stoke morons boo Ramsey [if he plays].
What sweet irony it would be if Aaron got the winner.

  30. rico says:

The Spanish giants are ready to go up to £45m – £10m more than they offered last summer. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is facing a seemingly impossible task persuading the 23-year-old to stay.

    Pounds, shilling and pence 🙂

  31. Will says:

Nice one JM, good info there.

Kev, we all know they will boo Rambo simply because the English media have made the Arsenal player to be a wimp that can’t take a leg breaker like the players of olden days.

  32. K-TR7 says:

Howdy all.good read steve.am staying away from the cesc talk as for all we know he hasn’t said anything.he is our best player and as steve has said selling him will be losing experience that we are so desperate for.he may have not played his best but he still has 9 goals and 17 assists.neither ramsey nor jack are anything close to el capitan.unless he submits an official transfer request i’d hang onto him.

  33. Will says:

Arsene Wenger will tell striker Nicklas Bendtner that he should stay at Arsenal, when the two meet to discuss the players’ future at the end of the season.

Bendtner, 23, has not been able to hold down a first-team place in the Gunners side this season, making just three league starts and 12 substitute appearances, scoring two goals.
Yet Wenger told ESPN that the player still has a future at the Emirates Stadium:

“I will sit down with Nicklas at the end of the season to see how he feels. I hope he will stay.

“I completely agree that he did not get enough chances – it was a very difficult season for him. He must be frustrated and I am as well because I feel he was not involved enough.

“That is part of the competition as well but we will see where we go from here at the end of the season.”

Seriously, a striker that scores 2 goals in 15 games is championship winning standard?

  34. rico says:

Will, let’s hope Nikki isn’t happy then as he just isn’t what we need up front…

Hi JM, I hope Wenger is too 😉

  35. allezkev says:

Finished in the garden for today…
Well Rico, £45million pounds, [sovereigns or dubloons] looks to be the best we’ll get. I still tend to think that Wenger persuaded Cesc to stay one more season last summer, and another trophyless campaign has probably made up Cesc’s mind.
Still look on the bright side eh, one more year of Bendtner, now doesn’t that make us all eager to re-new our season tickets……….

  36. allezkev says:

Does another year of ‘Super Nick’ mean i can forget about any chance of AFC signing Benzema? Oh what joy….

  37. Santos says:

Howdy yall! Its been a slow friday. Cesc has Barca at heart. If he goes , who do you think will replace him? I need a world class name.

    Rico
How is it going? Is Diaby out again? what a crock!

  38. allezkev says:

Will, just heard on Talkshite that Stoke blogs are running a campaign to boo Aaron Ramsey. Now why am i not in the least suprised. Those tossers really do deserve the crap football that arsehole Pulis serves up!

  39. HCAA says:

    Hi all,

decent read Steve, I like everyone else recognised Fabregas’ potential when he came to us, and alongside Vieira and Gilberto definitely looked the part, but since then I have become less impressed, and I don’t agree that he deserves to our captain.

  40. allezkev says:

But what do we really expect from people who come from the arse end of the world?
As i said earlier, it would be sweet irony if Aaron scored the winner.

  41. allezkev says:

Ere ere missie, don’t come the old acid….lol
I got two up, posts, but there’s a lot of aggro, i’m bloody knackered.

  42. allezkev says:

HCAA, who would you have as capt? For me Vermaelen.
Will, a hat trick mate would absolutely wonderfull.
Rico, got 8 more posts to go….ugh

  43. Steve Palmer says:

    Evening all,
rico, you caught me on the hop, didn’t realise you would post it today, but as usual you have done a lovely job, sorry I wasn’t more helpful
It appears we got this in just at the right time, speculation and a range of prices, I wonder if the media and everybody involved will only be happy when Fabregas is playing for someone else as opposed to us, Amazing when you look at it, that two of the best clubs in the world are supposedly after him after a season that he has had, and that’s before Chelsea and City get involved, which will probably be the story tomorrow, I shall only be happy when the new season starts and Cesc is wearing our new strip. Can anybody explain to me why these people believe that The biggest and wealthiest club in London if not the whole league would want to give them our talent, I thought Arsenal and Wenger was united in their ideas to bring youngsters through the system the Arsenal way, and use them to bring success to our club to make it the best in the world, of course in my eyes it is now

  44. HCAA says:

    AK,

not sure we have a captain at the club right now, though hopefully Jack Wilshere can grow into the role. Was all for agreeing that Wenger deserves 1 last chance to prove himself, but after his comments regarding Bendtner I’m not so sure.

  45. allezkev says:

HCAA, i’m at a loss over that one mate. Does that mean we’ll still have a team photo in early August with the same old failures in Arsenal shirts, minus just Almunia?

  46. Santos says:

I believe Aaron has the mental strength to bounce back and exorcise the Stoke demons. He may score a brace too. Wenger must give up this obsession with Bendtner: its bollocks.

  47. Will says:

Steve. The English media say they want all the best players in the Premier League but they hound the best Arsenal players weekly.

  48. rico says:

    Hi Steve,

sorry to catch you on the hop but it was so good and so relevant, it just had to be posted today 🙂

can you believe, got a nest of bees in my chimney and i have had to light the log burner in attempt to smoke them out – it’s alrady 23 bloody degrees…..

    🙁 🙁

  49. HCAA says:

    AK,

Big clubs spend big money to compete for big prizes. We might be sitting 3rd, but we’re not really in Man Utd’s league. They’re in their 3rd Champions Lge in FOUR years. We’re light years apart. Yes we beat them deservedly last week, but where were those performances when it mattered? Wenger is a spin-artist. Big clubs don’t consider 2nd-place ‘successful’. Wenger boasts about qualifying for the CL 15 years in succession, with one losing final 5 years ago. Since then, can anyone honestly say we’ve looked like winning it? We couldn’t even win our easy group this year. I’d love a championship-manager style clear-out.

  50. K-TR7 says:

Exactly what i said yesterday HCAA.its a travesty that despite being in the CL for 14 years with us making only 1 final which we didn’t win.when they list the favourites we are in the 2nd tier of clubs behind the mancs/chavs/barca/madrid.we should be in that group.

  51. HCAA says:

I read something yesterday questioning whether Arsenal are a big club. In England, we’re part of the establishment, woven into the fabric that is our football. We’ve always been a big club in England, hence the medias collective orgasm every time we screw-up. Of course we are known and respected world-wide, but we are not feared. When Mourinho was asked at the start of the season who he thought might win the CL, Arsenal weren’t even in his last eight. First and foremost football is about winning titles, or at least look as if you’re capable of winning it. We haven’t looked like that for a few years.

  52. JonJon says:

    evening all
no matter what the fee cesc needs to stay..

we need to get rid of the likes of diaby denilson and rosicky and buy one top quality midfielder to add to cesc, nasri, jack, song, rambo and promote the likes of lansbury and frimpong.

  53. rico says:

    hi jj,

    sorry, been bee watching 🙁

i think its a tough call, do we keep a really unhappy player?

do we really know what cesc really wants to do?

i know it can’t happen but i wish he could tell us….

  54. K-TR7 says:

Thats what i think too jj.unless cesc submits a transfer request barca/madrid/inter can shove their bids where the sun doesn’t shine.

  55. K-TR7 says:

Rico thats just it;we just don’t know it yet.does anyone know what his intentions are?he has yet to speak so i’ll not judge.

  56. JonJon says:

hi guys yeah rico its a tough call but if we want to go places next year we have to do business properly…

cesc may seem unhappy at the minute and 45mil seems alot of money but do we really want to keep losing our best guys??

if we showed some ambition in this window and sort out the squad..maybe cescs head might clear up, hes only thinking what we are..

but losing cesc isnt sorting out anything..we need to add to our world class players not sell them..

keep cesc..add to him..fuck the rest of them off instead

  57. JonJon says:

if we finally showed some balls in the transfer window then im pretty sure cesc will want to stay, if he sees some quality brought in around him he will think yeah im up for it this season…we all will..

a club of our financial stature should be now spending 45mil in the window and not looking to make 45mil..

  58. K-TR7 says:

We are rich.we don’t need their 45mil.we can’t keep losing our talismen every year.

  59. rico says:

sadly guys its a case of us having to sit back and see what unfolds…

right now i’m thinking about who’s coming in 🙂

  60. JonJon says:

ive read a few reports recently that europes hottest prospects are thinking of snubbing us..
    which is sad
but its what you get for fucking about and not fixing dodgy areas and not winning anything..
we havent won diddly in years..why would anybody decent want to join us??
and if we lose cesc then the pulling power becomes even less favorable to us..

  61. K-TR7 says:

Why did Wenger let Kompany slip through our net?…he is the best CB in the league imo.

  62. K-TR7 says:

JJ i saw a report that stated that Hazard is already having doubts about joining us due to us not showing ambition.

  63. HCAA says:

If Fabregas is to stay, he shouldn’t be captain, and there needs to be a complete tactical shift. Part of me thinks that he is responsible for the lazy lack-lustred, passionless, losing attitude that hangs over us like a bad smell.

  64. K-TR7 says:

HCAA thats harsh on cesc.everytime he dons the shirt i’ve never doubted his commitment.he also covers more ground than any other player.

  65. rico says:

    HCAA,

Things that Cesc gets wrong seem to stand out, especially like the incident against barca – but, they stand out because they are few and far between.

For that blunder, give thought to coming of the benchfor tweny minutes against Aston Villa, the times he has changed games on his own….

We can’t just single out one incident just because it was against barca.

look at the other players who commit stupid tackles, stupid passes etc etc week in week out…

  66. JonJon says:

    will
no nonsence box to bix mid
    pacey tricky winger
    hitman

    HCAA
part of alot of ppl think the same as you..but if we look at the facts we havent won a trophy for years..the fans are pissed..cesc hasnt won a trophy..hes pissed..

also..when we were totally shite and were finishing 20 points behind the league winners cesc was the one carrying this team..
its only been this season really his influence hasnt been as big but without him we wouldnt have even finished top four after moving to emirates..
the attitude is something the board and the manager has created..not cesc..

  67. JonJon says:

kompany was a huge boo boo ktr
wenger was watching him for ages..what was he watching when he got snapped up for 6mil..
but hes not the only player we let slip thru the net in favour of average players that have now been pushed down the pecking order by 20 year olds..

wengers mistakes are starting to add up and snowball..he needs to put it right this summer..

    no bullshit..just do it

  68. HCAA says:

    Rico, JJ,

You both make valid points, I just think the club pander to his ego. He isn’t good enough to start in Spain’s strongest XI. He doesn’t inspire his team-mates to greater things, he doesn’t lead when the tide is turning against us, he didn’t lead in the CC Final against Birmingham. He captains a team with no sense of urgency or hunger, no will-to-win.

  69. JonJon says:

he didnt play in the cc final..

and yes hes captain but he wasnt made captain by his own choice and he doesnt pick the team or buy the players..

hes not had a great year..but thats not to say we should sell him to the highest bidder…

the only ego thats pampered is wengers, cesc needs to stay and wenger needs to fix the problems that hampered us the last few years..cesc isnt the problem..

  70. rico says:

HCAA, they always do it – look at Paddy and Henry, all three were made captain just to make it harder for them to leave..

Cesc isn’t a leader but he has been awesome for us over the years, but…

Right now I think we spend too much time focussing on him, stop playing the game around him – against the mancs we showed how to be a team and cesc needs to fit into that team, NOT the team fit around him.

I stand by my own view and that is if he really wants out, then let him go – we don’t need anyone at arsenal who doesn’t want to be there……

We are bigger than one player or one manager, we always will be and life will go on without ‘whoever’….

Let’s just wait and see what happens, like i have said, we can’t change it and i’m looking forward to who we sign, those that go, well so be it…..

  71. rico says:

cesc is a bit of the problem jj, he demands the ball and often in stupid places on the pitch, he needs to realise, as does wenger, that arsenal football club is not all about cesc fabregas nor is it all about aresne wenger…

  72. JonJon says:

id be concerned if he didnt demand the ball..
and id rather him on the ball than anyone else..

the team is built around cesc but thats not the problem…

  73. HCAA says:

I think Kyle Bartley should play alongside Vermaelen at the heart of our defence with Koscielny on the bench.

  74. JonJon says:

    what about jd??

kyles a good prospect but he’d be 4th choice at best..5th behind squillaci..

  75. rico says:

Guys, I got to leave you to it, but I wouldn’t sell RvP, not for love nor money – not today, not ever 😉

Nighty all, have a good one…

  76. JonJon says:

    not bad mate..
abit pissed that the club decided to fleece the average fan..again..
like they need an extra 4.5mil..
but hey ho this seems to be the ‘arsenal way’ recently..

  77. HCAA says:

    JJ,

Bartley was quality in the SPL and UEFA/Europa Lge for Rangers, and if he doesn’t get 1st team with us, he’ll be off, and I’d choose Bartley ahead of Djourou and Squillaci all day. He had a good game in the Old-Firm derby as well. He’s been out on loan the last 2 seasons, if he’s not ready now he never will be. Love to see a front three of Falcao, Benzema and Podolski next season.

  78. Steve Palmer says:

Wenger has held his hands up and said he made a mistake in January for not buying a replacement for the ailing Vermaelen. He said he believed that he was almost ready to return so never brought. Even if that was true Squilly and Kos still wasn’t performing that well and for five mill even ten he could have had Cahill, i am not saying that Cahill is the bee’s Knee’s but he was at the right price at that time, what a mistake that was and here we are talking about a back heel that had it came off wouldn’t be in question

  79. JonJon says:

bloody hell hcaa how much cash you think weve got??
    we aint mancity lol

id love falcao or benzema..not to sure on podolski, although hes good at national level..
but we dont need all three..

bartley played in central midfield for rangers and although i rate him hes nowhere near as good as JD at this minute in time

i reckon JD is our best defender..

  80. HCAA says:

    JJ,

van Persie because he’s been with us since 2003 and during that time has averaged 22 games a season. He’s on big wages, and I don’t think that would be tolerated at any other club with serious ambitions of winning titles.

  81. JonJon says:

    hey steve
wenger may as well use that comment for the last 10 transfer windows

big thing is..will he use the one coming up to put it right..we cant change the past but we can learn and put it right in the present..

if wenger does the same old same old its just neglect..

  82. SUGA3 says:

£5-10M for Cahill? good one mate, keep them coming 😉

he is about the only chance for Bolton to cash in in the foreseeable future, so don’t expect a price tag lower than £15M or more…

not forgetting his nationality and what comes with it, are we?

  83. JonJon says:

    rvp is a crock
but hes also a game breaker..when hes fit hes world class..just look at his goals this season..he brings so much to the team

hes not diaby..whos a crock and plays shit when hes fit

rvp can actually win games…we need to keep him and give him support in the form of falcoa or benzema

then when hes injured we can cope without his goals cos somebody else is bagging them..then when hes fit they play together and we score for fun

if we want to save wages then sell the players who are crocked or crap..dont sell our best ones..

  84. HCAA says:

    JJ,

If we went back to 4-4-2 we would need all three, and with a couple more decent signings, maybe it would elevate us to the next level. Sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate, big prizes bring big rewards.

  85. JonJon says:

i dont think we need cahill
i dont think we need a cb at all..
weve got TV koz and JD…all quality cb’s..
the waek link in the defence is the fact out of our 4 fb’s only sagna can defend..
and when songs off form or injured theres nobody to come in..

imagine being an arsenal cb when youve got eboue and clichy next to you and denilson or diaby in front of you..and if your really unlucky almunia in goal

fuck me you could be bobby moore and franz beckenbaur and you’d still look average cos no team can defend when its only got two natural defenders in the squad..no matter who they are..

  86. JonJon says:

if we went back to 442 we would assume immediately that rvp and theo take the spots..
and if we sign falcao for example then we have three top finishers..as well as AA is we keep him…and vela if we keep him..
if we play 442 we have loads of good strikers..
we dont need to go out and do a ‘mancity’ and buy 9 strikers..
all we need is one..but he has to be lethal..

  87. Steve Palmer says:

In January that’s the price he was up for, of course we wouldn’t get him for that now, that’s why it was bad management.
Agree with you JJ if he fucks up again that’s my lot with him in fact he could piss off now as far as i’m concerned

  88. SUGA3 says:

I wonder where you get this kind of info from, as it sure is interesting…

no club will sell you the player they can earn some good money in the summer in the winter when the prices are overinflated, simple as that…

it’s up there with Cesc deserving to be our skipper 😆

  89. Steve Palmer says:

I suppose you want to give it to somebody that has not earned it do you, you infer that you don’t think Cesc is a leader, Wenger picks the team and he has fielded some complete arseholes who give the ball away all the time and thats Cesc’s fault is it.

  90. HCAA says:

    JJ,

I think Arshavin will go, which leaves van Persie and Walcott, who as we know will get injured, so we do need all three. Sell off Rosicky, Diaby, Bendtner, Chamakh and Denilson and get some real wingers with Ramsey and Wilshere central midfield, we’d take some stopping.

  91. JonJon says:

    suga
i said a few seasons ago i would have taken podolski
he always seems to score on the big stage..gets lots of goals for germany in the big tourneys hes always up there with the top scorers but i dont know much about him at club level and he seems to have disapeared of the map last few years
probably worth a punt though..if anything his stats at the very top level prove hes a big game player..

  92. SUGA3 says:

no mate, but what do you think having a captain who does not want to be here does to the teams’s morale?

hugging his Barca bumchums before the game? are you kidding me?

you don’t pick a captain for his play, but for his suitability to lead the team, there are better players to be just that:

    – Arshavin (Russian captain, bigger job than captaining Arsenal ever will be)
    – RvP (shame he is a crock and can’t play the full season to save his life)

just to name the two who happened to be available this time around…

  93. JonJon says:

yeah i agree with the wingers but HCAA

with a couple of wingers we could play 442 or 433 properly at any point in one game..

make us more fluid instead of the same old same old every game

personally id like hazzard and bring ryo back from loan if we can..depends on his visa status after the copa cup but with a couple of wingers and a lethal striker it would make us more dynamic and more diverse..

  94. JonJon says:

id like us to sign a quality midfielder as competition for song and move TV to left back to create a more defensive back 4 of sagna jd koz tv

    and make tv captain..

  95. Steve Palmer says:

That’s all I keep hearing he doesn’t want to be here you have started believing in the media crap, all he’s done is to question Arsenals fore sight he feels he’s a winner and wants to see the signings that we want and there slow coming, and he as well as us is getting pissed

  96. HCAA says:

Can’t argue with that JJ. That’s why players with the quality of Benzema and Podolski are essential. World-class strikers are in short supply. It’s about time Wenger grew a pair and repaid the fans patience and loyalty and showed some ambition. Signings of this magnitude make a statement of intent.

  97. SUGA3 says:

started believing in the media crap, did I?

    hello?

didn’t he say he wanted to leave last season? and make no mistake, we would not be having this conversation if Barca did not try to give AW a taste of his own medicine by coming up with that pathetic ‘offer’…

  98. JonJon says:

cesc has never said he wants to leave..
even last year he never said he wanted to leave..
the only thing hes said is that the club need to win trophys
that doesnt mean he wants to leave that just means he wants what the rest of us want..

    hes not a leader though

if he goes he goes but if he stays great..if he really wants to leave he’ll bang in a transfer request..

  99. Steve Palmer says:

JJ you could be right about TV as a future captain he has shown some of the qualities needed but he hasn’t played for close on a year, hardly convincing for me and he still hasn’t played yet.

  100. SUGA3 says:

    JJ,

and if the club once agains shows no ambition, he may well do it…

    and will anyone blame him?

  101. JonJon says:

also if we sign a quality midfielder it could mean we could drop song back to defence if needs be and still be solid in midfield..

i dont think the gk position or the cb position is as bad as what people make out..

the only thing bad about it is we concede most of our goals from set pieces..which is a training ground thing..we dont score many from set pieces either so its something to do with how we drill them..
buying a new top quality Cb wont change the set piece issue if we keep doing the same things in training..

  102. JonJon says:

    no suga
    i wouldnt..
hes just pissed hes won fuck all..
just like the rest of us..

i firmly beleive we can keep him this summer if wengers grows a pair and signs 3 top players this window…

if not, then yeah i can see a request being banged in..but until then i think hes not actually wanting to leave he just wants to win something..

we would never have kept henry and vieira all those years if we werent winning..
    same applies to cesc..

  103. Steve Palmer says:

I do believe the set pieces against us has improved a little bit with JD he has got up and headed quite a few but thats only on one side

  104. JonJon says:

i think songs been a class act for almost two seasons now
    great player

hes been off colour last few months i think due to injury and fitness but i rate him..
