Of course Jack Wilshere will never ‘replace’ Cesc Fabregas. No-one can replace our captain and as far as I’m concernedΒ he is so good heΒ deserves toΒ be playing in the same team asΒ Cesc, not in his place. However, there is a player out there in this big wide world who Martin Keown reckons has ‘everything’ as a midfielder and could be the right man, should Cesc ever decide to leave us.

Lewis Holtby is his name and Martin Keown is a big fan of his. Holtby reminds him of the Chavs Josh McEachran and our very own Jack Wilshere – he loves a free run of the midfield and looks for pockets of space.

He has fantastic vision and a sweet left foot, though he can use his right as well. He mainly plays out on the right and cuts in with his left, but I’ve seen him cross with his right. You wouldn’t have known it was his weaker side says the ex Arsenal man!

So just who is this 20yr old midfielder??

Born on 18 September 1990 in Germany, this ‘kid’ has a big choice to make. He may have been born in Germany but his father is English, in fact a born and bred Scouser who supports Everton, they both do. Because of that, Lewis has to decide whether to play for England or Germany. To date he has represented Germany but he could change his mind yet!

He’s another tidler at 5′ 8″ short and because of it, Borussia MΓΆnchengladbach released him in his teens, saying they thought he had physical deficiencies!! What idiots, just look at how Wilshere is progressing…

Anyway, if there is a player out there who wouldn’t cost too much and bring another bit of special play to our side, it could just be Lewis Holtby…. I’m sure Schalke 04 wouldn’t rip Arsene off….

Talking of Jack, Tomas Rosicky and Chamakh are the latest players to have an opinion on young boy.

Chamakh says, ‘I have been very impressed by Wilshere, he’s a great player and I think he is only going to improve further. ‘As well as being a great player he is adorable off the pitch.’

Tomas Rosicky adds,

‘He is great talent. For his age he has a great brain and he has a great future. ‘When he has got the ball he is very calm, that’s something that sometimes younger guys don’t have – they panic a little bit or something.

Β ‘With him you don’t see that though – he is very comfortable with the ball. That’s the first quality you are looking for and he has got that. ‘Obviously we want Cesc in our line-up but all players who started at Tottenham showed that they are ready.’

So, there you go, we have Jack who Chamakh finds adorable, we have Rosicky who thinks Jacks has something that younger kids don’t have (don’t ask) and finally, Keown reckons there is a German born English player who could just turn out to be the icing on the cake!

Don’t know about anyone else but January is beginning to be a month that can’t arrive soon enough, especially as we have Β£56 million ready to spend. And think about that while clubs like the Dippers are in dire straights, especially if they get docked 9 points next week should the sale not go through, then there is Β Man UTD, who yesterday announced losses of Β£80+ million in the last year….

Is there light at the end of the tunnel forΒ Arsenal – orΒ isΒ itΒ just some fool with a torch and the batteriesΒ are about to run out??

Who knows…… But I’m sure we will soon find out!
