Not long ago we all read the ‘alleged’ comments made by our Brazilian. Most papers ran the story and the gist of what he said was, he’s a winner, he wants to win trophies and medals and feels that in order to do so, he needs to find himself a new club.
Anyway, since that all came out, everything has gone very quite. The papers haven’t said a lot, he has said no more and AFC.com, well they don’t say a lot about anything in any case, not until there is something definite to report. To be fair to them, they haven’t responded to any of the media speculation about who is leaving, other than Wenger saying that Nasri won’t be sold to the Mancs and he will do all he can to keep our captain.
Two clubs have been rumoured to be interested in our young Brazilian.
Seville have been reported to be keen to offer him a way out of our club and the price mentioned in the Daily Mirror is £8 Million – well, if we get that for him, I actually believe that is a very good deal.
For us I mean, not Seville…
Denílson Pereira Neves – joined us in 2006 for £3.4 Million!!
He was unproved and had little experience in club football! After he signed, Wenger described him as being described as “a little bit in between Tomáš Rosický and Gilberto”. It’s quite clear the Gilberto comparison was down to him being Brazilian, but Rosicky, well surely that can only be that once upon a time Rosicky used to shoot from outside the penalty area. Denilson is one of a few in our side who remains confident to take a shot outside the area and credit to him; he has scored a few corkers.
Denilson had not only played for his country at every junior level, he also captained them along the way, ever since he was in the under 15 squad. In November 2006, he was called up for the first time to the Brazilian national side for a friendly match against Switzerland , ironically it was to be in place of his then Arsenal team mate Gilberto Silva who pulled out for personal reasons.
He didn’t make it off the bench sadly…
Anyway, he is Brazilian; we all thought we’d captured a pretty darn good player, didn’t we??
Like Nikki B, Denilson is still only 23 years old and he has many a year in front of him in football.
His Premier League debut came in December 2006 when he came off of the bench diruin a 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United.
He scored his first goal in a Carling Cup match against Newcastle, helping to earn us a 2-0 victory in September 2007. He had a good game and later that month AFC announced that Denilson had signed a new contract. Another goal came for him against Sheffield United in the Carling Cup, his was the last goal in a 3-0 victory. A corkder from long range I believe.
He earned his first Premier League start in November 2007 and he had a pretty good game, late goals from Gallas and Rosicky securing our victory late on in the game. The ugly side to his game was shown in the Carling Cup quart-final, a game in which he saw red just before the end of extra time.
2008/09 season came and Denilson would get more playing time. We had lost Gilberto, Flamini and Hleb. During August of this season he started all of our matches and scored his first PL goal for our club in a 3-0 defeat of Newcastle at The Emirates. Most of his playing time was alongside Cesc Fabregas but also replaced the unfit Cesc Fabregas in the latter stages of 2008.
2009/10 season started well for Denilson, he blasted his first goal of the campaign from 25 yards out past Tim Howard in a 6-1 home victory.
A month later he signed a new five-year deal!
Then came his back injury keeping him out for two months. He came back to face Standard Liège on 23 November where he scored our second goal in a 2–0 victory, this was another goal scored from long range, it also marked the 100th game for Arsenal.
Denílson went on to score goals against Hull City, Everton, Stoke City and West Ham United. Six was his goal tally for that season, all from outside the area. He made 28 appearances that season, three of which were from the bench.
2010–11 saw the breakthrough of Jack Wilshere into the first team. We all knew this kid was very good but me personally, I never anticipated him playing as much as he did in his first season. Once he showed how good he truly was, how could any manager leave him out?
This coupled with Denilsons reported injuries meant we saw less of him during last season. Many fans were glad, he had been a victim of a lot of abuse in the blog world and the less he played the happier a large section of fans were. He started just six Premier League matches and featured 16 in total. Overall, he made 32 appearances in all competitions, 20 starts and 12 from the bench.
No doubt Denilson has realised his time is pretty much up with us, Wilshere is on the rise and with players like Lansbury, Coquelin and Frimpong waiting in the wings, his chances for first team football are more likely to lessen than increase.
He may have come out and said what is reported and a lot of what he is supposed to have said is true. It may also be that Wenger has told him that his chances have all but gone and he’s better off elsewhere, we will never know the truth.
One thing we do know though is our young Brazilian has gone from playing and captaining his country at all the youth levels, to a player who looks lost and low in confidence..
Has he been given a fair chance to prove his worth under Arsene Wenger or is he another player who has failed to make his chances count?
i’ll tell you what happened to denilson..
hes crap..
Morning jj, how did i know you would say that 😉
and he got pampered..
given contract after contract, game after game..
and it took 5 years to figure out hes shit and now nobody wants him..
morning my dear..
i dont know, what gives it away?? 😉
same with almunia..
crap
game after game..
captains armband for christs sake..
and when the penny finally drops and we want rid nobodys interested..
I’m not his biggest fan either jj – but has wenger played him in the wrong place all these years…
almunia?? 😉
Almunia is worse than denilson jj
how he has managed to play so many games playing so badly i will never know…
He’s not good enough, at least for the Premier League. He might be better off in a slower and less physical league. I never rated him, not even during 08-09, where he played game after game.
our prob with almunia is he had no-one challenging him, other than fabianski who was eqaully as bad if not worse, as for the armband, rewarding rubbish is just so wrong….
Morning all,
A smiling post rico I bet your giggling.
Like most of our players this year, they have not really played their best, supporters frustrations build up with losses and sometimes its accredited to certain players, often coincidence where those players get the blame, and it seems Denilson has been on the end of some fans abuse, my view is Denilson has not played well when he has played but it has to be said that the rest of the team bar a couple have also been very poor. I thought our defence has also been terrible and thought with a new centre back it would make a huge difference but when Vermin came back just the same, so really just bad play all round, If Denilson does finally find a new home I wish him well
Morning A
It’s not only about his lack of pace, he doesn’t read the game either – any player who can read the game well can make up for their lack of speed to a degree…
We got the wrong Brazilian should of got Sandro, oh well maybe we will go and get Leandro Damaio before the spuds do, he must be some player to be leading the line for Brazil ahead of Pato, Fabiano, and Adriano…..I think hes only 21.
Morning Steve
i wish him well too, he’s not up himself, he seldom moans in the paps etc etc but then nor would i on his money. i don’t believe he is playing in the right league and he’s certainly not right for us..
But then we have a few who we can say the same about…
Totally agree Rico, and he doesn’t even try hard enough while tracking back, a sin for a defensive midfielder. He gets bullied out of possession ever so easily, makes accurate but only-sideway passes. Hardly ever makes a telling pass forward. If we get 8 mill for him, it would be quite unbelievable.
Hi Jay,
Maybe Wenger being in South America right will get you your wish??
A – Denilson’s stats flatter him big time don’t they, he pass completion etc is near perfect i think but some don’t look at where he passes…
But, he does score good goals 😉
Many believe we need many new faces to inject a bit of enthusiasm, personally i think we have the nucleus of a very good team that can beat anyone on their day, but confidence and enthusiasm has been missing and one players mistake can bring a teams spirit down, I believe Wenger knows that, but supporters are not helping with scathing criticism, and now Wenger knows he has to be seen to be doing something. I honestly don’t think we are miles away from victory and i also believe wide spread changes will not guarantee trophies, we have what we need but they have to believe as a team, if we can find that solution we will be on our way.
Yeah he’s scored 2-3 good goals. The others were Lampard-esque. (Read deflected)
been a while A..hows tricks
I kinda agree with Steve. More than personnel, the culture at the club needs to be changed. I don’t know how that will happen by merely bringing in a few new faces, who again, in all likelihood, will be French/African, and just join the clique. Wenger needs to change this summer, more than anyone.
@JonJon, err?
I still think he is a very good player. He is calm and hardly loses the ball. Was at fault for not tracking back a few times but generally a good player that allowed others to do the more dynamic stuff. It is a shame we started playing him in a DM position as I am sure that is not his best. I for one wish him well and hope that he goes on to have a good career.
Steve – agree with that, how often have we suggested that too many chnages disrupted our team this season when we played in the FA Cup and CC – i think the same applies with new signings – we don’t need seven or eight, just four would do it, as long as major players like Cesc and Nasri stay…
A – we need established PL ready players, not another Wenger/Grimandi ‘spot’ from France 😉
I think Denilson is brilliant, can’t believe we thinking of selling him……………………..!
Rico – unless that spot is a Viera, Petit, Henry, Pires of course eh?
I feel we need one CB, one CDM, and one striker to replace Bendtner. That should do in terms of squad strength. But they all need to be top class.
Yeah no more of these young Frenchies. And I would love a striker with some magic about him, someone who could score good individual goals you know, out of nothing.
Falcao anyone? 😛
Btw, we apparently did not score a single goal from outside the box in home league games last season. That says enough. I’m not even sure if we scored a single good long range goal in the whole campaign.
Oh and how rude of me, morning all…!
We need a complete change of mind set thats the problem, wenger is spouting on about not changing philosophy well thats all well and good but we need changes within that philosophy, we not saying start playing hoof ball BUT the commitment and attitude withing a footballing philosophy is still number one priority, if your not prepared to graft and fight for the ball and compete then it doesnt matter what the philosophy is you’ll never ever win games when it matters.
darren bent and ashley young..
Maybe just a change of Captain may just change attitude, granted we will have new faces and new styles maybe bigger defenders and hopefully a defensive coach helping. let Cesc do what Cesc does and stop chasing referee’s, put that in the hands of a Vermaelen, or kosi even a new bloke, make the Captains job just a job and not just a pay rise.
Drew10 – i have had to take your link out, it spams you…
agree if its that kind of standard, but what i mean is a league 2 player with potential…
Denilson = fine shot; the odd good goal; tippy tappy; not really up for the fight. = nailed on WHU legend.
I remember an interview with Cesc & Theo earlier in the season when they were asked who gees up the boys before they go into the tunnel for the start of a game. And they said ‘noone’ ! No one shouts a little, or motivates the players at all before they walk out of the dressing room! I don’t say that shouting is the only way one can get motivated, but this is strange to say the least!
Cesc’s reply was “We’re more European in that way”.
Morning WATH – i always knew Denilson was one of your fav’s… 😉
what a silly comment..
is song or jack as good as vieira??
no..
so why would you compare denilson to vieira??
especially when hes not as good as jack..
its like using the arguement we cant sign players cos they all cost 50mil..
rubbish
Wenger won’t change his ways but what he can do is buy the right players who change it on the pitch, will he do that though?
sorry A
thought you was someone else i used to blog with years ago..
morning wath..
wash your mouth out 😉
jj, who asked that??
JonJon,
No issues mate. Im beginning to realize that “A” is that kind of a name to use.
Steve, i think the armband will go to RvP is Cesc ever goes, don’t agree with it because of his position, but i’m sure wenger will..
either that or Almunia 😉 😉
A – I also thought you were the Le Grove A, only becuase you ‘debate’ in the same way 😉
Err, I don’t really like Le Grove. Didn’t know there was a “Le Grove A”. Do i debate in a particular way?! Haha.
rico
im multi tasking.. 😉
no good at multi tasking
randomness occurs 😉
the lg A used to get a battering everday..
nobody agreed with him..
🙂 jj, i have done that before, i can be quite funny…
rico, you are probably right but i have always believed that the Captains armband should be worn by a defender, they see a lot more than a striker and can relay messages easier, can often have time to see the manager and take in his orders, you don’t need a captain up front you want a greedy bugger up there just thinking of one thing get that ffffing thing in. A solid disciplined defence needs a strong personality, someone that shouts an order and instinctively its carried out, an armband is not for show, its a respected piece of equipment, and when its used right it shows.
i do it all the time..
i got my little un, im making food im watching telly and blogging
or trying to.. 😉
random mini blogging fit 😉
When i was playing i got a Gibbs style headslap from my Captain after missing a couple of headers, he told me concentrate, I scored three in the second half never heard a word from him. sorry NCIS talk
Ok I’ve been and washed my mouth out JJ that tasted crap, was that to remind me exactly how bad Denilson really is 😉
Agree again Steve, I actually believe we need to buy our captain, i know that would upset a few but so what, if it means we start becoming disciplined at the back and winning, they’d soon realise it was a good move..
Leave our creatinve players to get on with what they do best…
Denilson has played some really good games for us- when he first arrived against Spurs, a couple of years ago away to Portsmouth and last year away to Barca- the only midfielder who did-but these are islands in a sea of mediocrity. You cant say he hasnt had chances- but so what- he is a young player who could improve his impac ton a game. What I’d really like to see is a player who will stop feeling sorry for himself and wait for his chance and give it a real go and over come his internal demons-which lies at the root of his caution. If he thinks life will be rosy elsewhere he is badly mistaken. I believe he has the skills but is not blessed with great pace. So what nor is Fabregas. His situation is not totally unlike Arshavin- except Arshavin does not retreat into his shell when it does not work. Four or five top performances would turn the haters around.
Got to pop of for a bit,
Back later…
Good points there GB, also try him in different positions Wenger seems to stick with the same kind of plans for everybody, i like the idea of moving players around and confusing opponents, doing this may uncover hidden talents
Spot on goonerboy. He’s certainly not “crap”, but he’s short on confidence. Like Song was when he started out, but Song has shown the strength to overcome it. Having a barrage of abuse from the fans can’t help, and he gets that partly because he’s a subtle player, plays neat possession, nothing thrilling.
His blog reputation is for not tracking back and playing sideways passes – something that a couple of people already repeated above as though it was their own opinion – but blog reputations are bollocks frankly, as people spread ideas they read in someone else’s post after one poor game. He’s just not as bad as people like to say.
Maybe he’s not right for Arsenal in the current set-up. But it would have been good to see him win the fans over.
So your saying he’s only had one poor game Greg..? reputations are made on the pitch and to say he’s only crap in the blog world is rubbish? to say his blog reputaion is bollox is also way off the mark. I watch him week in week out and the fella is nowhere near good enough for Arsenal simple as that. Your opinion is he’s not crap which is fine but to judge blogs on giving him a bad reputation that isn’t warranted is miles off.
Afternoon Wath, where was you last night…. you stood me up….lol
Ah you on about standing up again AK….? 😉
Sorry mate got misled and had to drink lots with someone thet needed company so who am I to refuse a friend in need !
I’ve only been on-line since Aug of last year, so my opinion of Denilson, and for that matter Diaby,Eboue and Song, were/are based on what i’ve seen on the pitch. I don’t rate the first 3 and think we can do better than Song, but he’s adequate for now. I’ve not been a fan of any of them for around 3 season’s, people may have different views and fair enough, but to me , none of them are the kind of players that win you honours on a consistant basis. We might get away with carrying a couple of them, but 4 is just too much. Simply not good enough in my opinion…
Ah, i’d never get in the way of a man and his GG, lol.
And although i used to cut Bendtner a bit more slack, you can add him to the above now…
When people actually state something it maybe cos they actually agree on something not repeating parrot fashion and prob means that he is infact in most people’s opinion a very average player who most refer to as crap. Maybe a little harsh but yet another who never seems to bust a gut and put in a bit of graft.
Come on, it’s ridiculous to imply that bloggers have trashed Denilson so readers like me have turned against him. I supported him whenever he was on the pitch. But I don’t think he offers unique to this team. We have better players in each of the three central midfield positions, and we need to replace him with a world class experienced midfielder.
Thanx AK, Wasn’t on the GG last night mate it was wines…! 😉 and very nice they were too
Wath, i love a drop wine mate, luvly jubbly.
A, some people on here earlier were suggesting that critism of Denilson on blogs, had turned fans against him. I was just putting my point of view. I’m not an expert by any stretch of your imagination, but i think i’ve got a passing idea about a player. For example, when i first saw Nigel Winterburn, i liked him and he became one of my all time favourite players. When i first saw Denilson i simply couldn’t see what he offered. No pace, no good in the air, couldn’t tackle, didn’t shoot, couldn’t cross a ball, didn’t have an eye for a defence splitting pass, all he did was play ‘safe’ sideways passes…well pardon me if i don’t get excited by that…
Anyone that gets excited by denilson has pretty low expectations of a decent footballer…!
I don’t expect players to come in and ‘rock your socks off’ straight away. But you look for something, anything that might have you saying to your mates that, ‘that was good’. Players develop at different rates, for every Wilshere there’ll be someone who’ll take more time. But you still look for that ‘something’ in their game, that they can bring to the team.
Wath haha.
Yeah i know what you mean, but for example Gilberto wasn’t exactly dynamic, and it took awhile for me to see his value, but eventually the penny dropped and i luved him. He developed into a great defensive m/f.
Denilson brings nothing to the table, not to me.
All the same i wish him well, wherever he goes…i just hope he hurries up and leaves
Boo! Nik yesterday, Denilson, now. Ah, The Great Unwanted. 😉 They are just not good enough. No two ways about it.
Hello, AK and WATH.
Denilson gets stick and so does Bendtner and in all honesty i believe both have played out of position. Having said that they have also not played well. In another team may be they will click, but enough time has passed and it won’t be in ours good luck to them on their travels
Hello, Steve. Bendtner did carry the team when we were without Robin in 09-10; but this year, he’s been woeful. Denilson is just clumsy and slow and runs around half the time like a headless chicken.
Hiya SP/AGAG, either of you gonna watch the England game?
Initially i wasn’t interested, but i reckon i’ll watch it now, just to get a footie fix.
Hi Agag always nice to read your honest opinion,
Afternoon AK I’ll watch it hopefully after i win on the derby
Were it not for our lads, I would find England painfully unwatchable. One too many Chavs. Eeeek.
allezkev,
Mate I don’t think I disagreed with you anywhere. All in all, I’m making the same point – I don’t rate him. Someone earlier mentioned that his reputation of passing sideways, not tracking back etc is a ‘blog reputation’, which is why I wrote what I did.
A,
I know you didn’t disagree, sorry if that’s the impression i gave.
We need Denilson to go, and replace him with a player that can actually play in the “Alex Song” position. Preferably someone who can challenge Song to up his game.
I know some people have doubts, but i’d like to see Frimpong given a go before we spend out on another def m/f.
Personally i want a good dominant c/h and a goalscorer [2 if poss].
Hello AGAG how’s you sexy..? All good I hope. As for a headless chicken I’d take that over denilson as it’s quicker…!
AK, Frimpong was surprisingly good at pre-season; and if interviews are anything to go by, not short on confidence either. Definitely one to give a chance.
Hola, WATH. Howdy? Still abusing your liver, I see. Tut tut. 😉 Poor Denilson, sooo unloved.
Ditto Agag, although we all knew that Jack was good, nobody could have predicted the impact he actually made. Imagine if we’d signed Joe Cole?
So for me, give Frimpong a go, and lets not forget Coquelin as well.
hello!
Give another chance to Denilson!
It’s a great player. When you lose, dump it on read the full fury because he’s little one and does not shine like the others. If someone makes 8 million purchase of a good deal. Little appreciated. Arsenal loses. Denilson, stay! You could launch a petition to get Denilson. NB to another.
AW can go to South America but all players, good and reasonable, the 1st and 2nd division teams are all referenced from Spain, Portugal and Italy. It will not discover anything. Or on the other hand, may find one or more players who do not play in teams but are referenced in these three countries. In addition to the scouts, newspapers, etc., are seen the matches in Argentina, Brazil, Libertadores, etc.. We know everything that goes on in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Peru …
I will devote to reading while Li is winning
Defoe – Arsenal ??? brrrr!!!
Bloody hell, JM, had a couple of beers and am feeling very mellow. Then you have to mention Defoe, ugh.
AK, I thought Joe Cole would come good at Liverpool. He has been absolute rubbish. Definitely glad we dis not sign him.
JM, Li Na is great. 🙂
Agag, i thought Cole made a mistake going up North, i kinda wanted him at Arsenal, but as it turned out i’m glad we didn’t get him.
It reminded me of Tony Cottee, when Graham didn’t get him & he went to Everton it opened the door for Merse.
We didn’t get Cole and instead Jack blossomed into the great player he is. Karma?
Denilson can stick to making coffee….!
Jo Cole only went for money AGAG he’s a circus pony…!
My liver and I have a great understanding AGAG I keep it lubricated and it looks after me in return…!
Defoe for 10mil…… I’d take Odenwingie for 4mil all day long..!
I’ll also like someone to go stick a pineapple up David Villas arse far enough so it snaps his vocal cords…..! As RVP would say “shut the fuck up” you stupid little man…!
allez, NB to spurs and Defoe to Arsenal and then we be rule out of the Uefa competitions
Is he for real……………..?????????
What a complete knob….!
The last line is comment of the decade so far…!
“I’m still young. If I don’t find another club in Europe, I will go back to Brazil and play there for six months,” he was quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror. “My idea is to accept any offer from Spain, Italy or Germany from a club that is playing in the Champions League. I dream of maintaining a place in the Brazil national team.
“I’ve spoken twice with Arsene Wenger and my decision is clear. I’m not happy at Arsenal and, after five years at the club, it’s best for me to go.
“I don’t blame Arsene Wenger at all. I believe I’ve had my best season personally but want to win titles.
Wath, i think Odemwingie would be a good signing, but i doubt if we’d get him for £4m.
Villa would probably enjoy it and ask for more!
JM, Sanchez to Barca, si?
I don’t know Tony Cottee, AK. 🙁 But Karma is a Capital Bee, I agree. 😉
WATH, maybe The Great Unwanted can open a diner… Denilson to make Coffee, and the Spanish Waiter to serve it. 😀
The Catalans talk about Cesc nonstop; it’s all just white noise to me now. I still want to punch a few of them in the face though.
Wath, i hope Denilson continues to talk himself up. That way we’ll get shot of him quicker.
Not many ppl would get food AGAG the waiter would spill most of it…..!
Something got lost in translation there Wath
so its the blogs fault denilsons crap then??
just like it was the fans fault we didnt win anything..
heres an idea..lets keep all the players..buy nobody..close down all the blogs and play all our matches behind closed doors..we’ll clear up
Agag, Cottee left West Ham 1988, he was similar to Defoe a bit, a small goal poacher. Quite a good finisher, but he joined Everton for the big bucks.
The fee was £2million, a lot 23 years ago.
I would guess the whole thing got lost in translation SP, prob what we missing is he’s delusional as well, yet another to put on the list…!
I was nowhere near interested in football in ’88, AK. My life revolved around Hello Kitty and My Melody. Haha.
WATH, the Spanish Waiter could take the pineapple out of Villa’s nether regions; juice it, and serve him a pina colada.
Hello, JJ. 🙂
AGAG, hmmmm thats spiteful re: the pineapple for Villa but I like your thinking 😉
Come on Recital 5.1
R you gonna preach to us now Steve 😉
forget that what was we talking about come on England
i hate sport Wath
Steve, did you get a winner in the Derby?
Bloody frogs……….. lol
David Villa has told Cesc Fabregas, Arsenal footballer, who wish to see in Barcelona next season, according to the newspaper “The Sun”.
“I like Cesc. We know what he can give the team. I hope you come to Barcelona. Not only is the player but also because it deserves to be back, ” said David Villa.
According to the publication, the emblem of London just sell Spanish midfielder for 54 million pounds – approximately 60.6 million.
Alexis Sanchez (form Udinese) Barcelona – interesting player
We was gonna have a slap up Chinese AK but looks like bubble & squeak now, wasn’t that hungry anyway.
Cabbage is good for you Steve. Full of iron…..
Rico, six cans red bull in the fridge and almost a full bottle Vodka could be a dream coming on. we must have the only Frenchmen that don’t win anything
Afternoon, what a day 🙁
Boo, rico! Busy bee-ing? 🙁 Your Villa’s been talking, you know. I hope he gets the pineapple treatment. 😀 The stains grow more hateful by the day. Grrr.
That’s a whole lot to drink, Steve. 🙂
Got a big game against Barca AK
sorry i should have said the lovely Agag
Hi agag, i’m all for him getting the pineapple treatment too, we are in for this all summer….
4.0 ENGLAND
Anyone watching the Jack and Theo show shortly?
Steve
I’m looking forward to see ing this battle, is Senderos and JD in the centre of their defence, i haven’t seen the lineups..
JD is there haven’t see Sendo
yep his there
Steve, looks like you’ll be enjoying your tipple!
I’ll just do some chore (argh), and will watch, rico. I hope our boys do us proud.
Mr Wenger.
Please can we have: Gary Cahill, Ashley Young and Darren Bent this summer?
We can then set about winning the league.
Thanks Steve, just seen him too…
Got to be done agag, only because jack and theo are playing 🙂
cahill, baines, parker, young, bent
and we are set..
Not sure if we actually need Baines but I would not say no.
Rio Ferdinand…50p head…
Baines on for Cole, must watch him 😉
I hadn’t F5 jj, dodn’t see you Baines comment 😉
Will, if Clichy goes we do, or a new LB – Gibbs is too injury prone right now and Traore i think will leave…
we need good wingers Theo up front with Robin, feed them and they will score. i will say again theo is not a winger . o fuck set peice
England hasn’t a good squad…
4.1
Joe Hart and his walls of 2. What a twat.
fuck 4.2
Steve, 4-0 to the Swiss did you mean 😉
i would say baines is a better defender than both clichy and gibbs..
hes better going forward as well..awesome at crosses and dead balls..
im not bothered about losing clichy..but we will need a new lb cos i dont think gibbs is ready..
id send him on loan for a year first to a pl club
Good old Johann
And they blame Theo for the second, didn’t he do what you are supposed to do, stand tall and still….??
come on england..
come on jack and theo..
hart was to blame, you do not place just two players in the wall and then to make both worse, because Hart only had two players, he saw both balls all the way and STILL missed them.
Thank the lord that Jack has passion and skill.
the first was glen johnsons fault..
he put lampard in trouble
2nd was harts fault..no matter what the wall does you dont get beat at your near post like that
Theo is not up for this game.
Behrami… haircut like Tin Tin
lol
😆 kev
That’s harsh on Theo Will, England are crap, Bent keeps straying offside, the attack is limp… Too much time given to them…..
England needs a player like NB 😉
Lampard finally out! young in
Also, we are to direct.
Amazing that its all Arsenal players fault at least there in there where the shit is Joe Hart wanker Ferdinand Wanker Joe harts fault for everything and if he had been in their goal when Jack went down it would have been Harts fault. One of the worst penalties i’ve seen Lampard wanker
You ok Steve?
jd is a very lucky boy
Already a great cross from Young, if only Nikki B was English indeed jj, he would have scored from that cross 😉
Baines clearly tripped in 1st half.
Walcott clearly tripped in 2nd half.
Clear to everyone except that effin blind referee!
Wenger, get your cheque-book out and sign Young…
See Arsene, that is why you should spend what it takes to get Ashley Young…..
yes
kev
wenger should get the cheque book out and sign the ref 😉
but yeah youngs an option i would like us to take
Yes thanks Will bit excited Youngs goal has calmed me
jd has been worse than senderlump
Young has to be bought look how much speed it would give us as well with him and Theo either both up front or wide…! Not like he gonna cost 30 million either is it… watch wenger just waste that chance and not even bother to try and sign him
JJ, haha. I think Fergie’s in for him….
Stevie P, have some more bubble & squeak, it’s good for the nerves, all that iron…
Benaglio is the swiss keeper (Arsenal want him)
Now, we have a typical Arsenal match in defense versus english strikers. Imagine Almunia in the goal, JD and Senderos central backs and if I’m a swiss I will be nervous…
I hate to say this… but Djourou has been a bit crap.
Ches
Sagna Tv Cahill Baines
Young Cesc Jack Nasri
RvP
Bent.
Cheers for the advice Ak But the vodka is doing fine.
JD is one of the reasons we need two CH’s….
you still want Bent
Jeff Astle????
english players are over priced wath
its better to sign players from denmark and wait until they are 29 to become good
Who wanted Bent 😉
Arrys wife would have scored from that chance 😉
The Swiss play on with one of their men down, so why does our stoopid player put it out???? Plonker!
WATH, £16m, thats all it would take, Young is worth every penny….
Old Red Nose might need to have a re-think about where he spends…
Rio is rubbish….
England finally get a wicket.
Our soon to be new signing on then…..
come on boys
may they now star to tumble kev, i thought they’d never get the breakthrough, just like in the WC ….
even on the back of this i would still want bent parker and young..
parker and young are bargains..parker plays for a 2nd tier club and youngs in the last year of his contract
the english players are overpriced bollox wont wash this summer the players are gettable
come on jack
Jeff Astle? Sure he is too old now.
Just Young for all of those.
JD is nervous… very nervous or other think…
i’d be happy with those three jj, very happy…. but add Cahill and Samba and i’d be very very very happy….
;p
Taking off Walcott wasn’t a smart move…
Jacks hurt
Hi JM,
🙂 re Astle
jj, i’m not sure Bent is worth what Villa would want for him, despite his goals….
kev, you know what i think about Theo, fans knock him when he’s on but whe he goes off the game drops… that happens for us and for england yet its always his number up first….
Rico, i like Downing, but what impact did he make? Theo was creating opportunities, so why take him off?
JM, Djourou, he didn’t have his bubble & squeak…
I’m not convinced on Downing kev, for the reasons you just said – no impact whatsoever, but, it’s England and in all honesty, the game was dire…
Every player looks totally done in, just praying that Jack and Theo have no after affects….
cinders played better than JD….wtf
thought young had a good game..
jack as well..love jack me..he’s just a little jack russell in the middle of the pitch..with exceptional skills..
hes the closest thing to paul scholes and he’ll get better..hes such a talent i dont think people actually realise what weve got in jack..like pearce..why does jack have to go u21..hes a senior member of the full squad its disrespectful to say take a step down..its like banfield picking him for our reserves lol..
Righto, i’m off up the pub, whose coming???
No bubble just the squeek, i was right 4 goals
Wilshere my man of the match for 90mins
Rico, 231 for 1, it’s gonna be a long slog from here. Cheers…
go kev 😉
You take it easy AK don’t forget to tell your Mum where your going and don’t stay out past Nine, have a good un mate
Not me kev, its the XFactor final 🙂
Jack is mine to Steve…
kev, there is always a quick break in the morning, OR, the rain will come in and save us 😉
hahaha
Night all, try and be good you lucky people
Night Steve, have a lovely evening…
Seems as if everyone has gone now….
im still about 😉
multi tasking still jj 😉
jj, you will like this ‘rumour’ Cahill was spotted at The Emirates on Friday….
yeah 😉
was he now?? well i’ll believe it when i see it 😉
im not getting my hope up this window i want to be suprised..
For sure he wasn’t jj, he was with the England squad 😉
transfer rumours are comical sometimes
just what i was saying to you the other day jj, if nothing else, they are just something to laugh at rather than believe…
its one way of passing the summer
hate no football and arsenal dont have an active window so you get bored over summer
need something to clear us up.. 😉
like the odemwingie story lol
I know exactly what you mean jj, what else is there to chat about, its rumour, rumour rumour and its fun in a funny kind of way…
i reckon the odemwingie story could have legs….
i hope not
i would hate to think the state this club is really in if we sell a few players made abit of cash and then spent 4mil on odemwingie.. 😉
well jj, someone i know in the footie world reckons he would be an absolute catch if we got him for 4M – i have to be honest, i know nowt about him, hence me asking but, lord knows why i do, but i trust him….
we had a couple of builders in jj doing pointing, one is a massive England fan, follows the guys everywhere and has done for many many years..
he says jack is the best england player he has watched in a long long time……
Hey Rico, you still about?
Hi rico,
Sorry 🙂 Jeff Astle was a good center forward on the beginning of 70ths. I remember him at WBA, at least
You watching Britain’s Got Talent???
Yeah, as you said, an early breakthrough in the morning and our bowlers tails will be up.
If Cookie had taken that catch, i reckon we would have got among them. A couple of wickets and the Sri Lankans will be bricking it…
JM, do you remember Astle missing that chance against Brazil in 1970, hench me comparing him to Bent after he missed that chance…
I am kev, i am doing well to be awake this late for two nights in a row 😉
JM, i was teasing, i know you were too re Jeff Astle 😉
The rain will make it a draw kev, we are in for some really bad weather over the next few days – to be in with a chance of winning SL need to bat on and make 600 at least before they declare, they won’t i don’t think..
I didn’t see the Cookie drop, was is Dilshan??
Rico, i’m not sure, but it was a dolly drop.
BGT – i’m watching… 🙂
I’m not too worried, you just get days like today, when the radar is a bit off. Tomorrow Finn could blow them away.
Is that right about the weather, as my garden is gasping.
Funnily enough my neighbour reckoned that he sensed a storm in the air.
My lot are addicted Rico, lol.
Who do you think’s gonna win? Thought that pianist was quite good….Do you think Wath is watching???
Where’s the 3rd Test Rico? Up North i suspect.
WATH, no way, he is upstairs watching a DVD 😉
I want the Scottish guy or the four black kids, they are really good…
kev, the 3rd Test is at The Rose Bowl, Southampton
DVD eh? What’s it called? Whiskey Galore???
Yeah those 4 kids are very good.
Hampshire! Not a Test up North, strange…
Prob as its onlt 3 test series, a 5 series would prob see them go to OT at least..
Nah re WATH, he watching Wizzard or Oz, his fav 😉 😉
I just don’t want that young one to win, his time will come but i bet you 50p he wins it kev….
On that note, it’s time i went and made a cuppa, together with a hobnob is the bestest…
I will bid you a very good night kev, thanks for the push for todays post 😉
Have a good one… 🙂
Nighty Night
See ya Rico, bow wow Fido…
😉 kev, she say woof back…
Allez, I’ve an idea of that game. Clearly in my mind is that goal by Jairzinho against Banks.
Brazil had a wonderful team in that world Cup.
JM, that England team was probably a better side than the team that won in 1966. But somebody spiked Banks’ food/drink and he couldn’t play against Germany in a quarter-final game that England were leading 2-0 in before somehow conceding 3 goals to lose 3-2. The substitute goalkeeper was a guy called Peter Bonetti, and he had a nightmare.
I know i’m biased but i honestly believe that a Brazil vs England final in 1970 would have pitted the best two teams in the world, at that time, together. Brazil would probably still have won as they were a fantastic team, but it would have been a great final.
Morning all
New Post is up
yes, was from chelsea…maybe the reason 🙂
Italy, Germany and Uruguay had also good teams.
