I feel like I have written this name so so many times in the last twelve months, in fact probably longer, so much so I am now at the point of pleading with Arsene Wenger. 😉

I truly believe Henri Lansbury is one player Arsenal Football Club cannot afford to let go this summer. He’s English, born and bred in Enfield, London and has been with Arsenal since he was a boy. I don’t think for one minute he would need to be taught about what Arsenal Football Club are all about, I strongly suspect it’s running through his veins.

You don't need to tell Henri what it means to score against the Totts.......

We all know last season he played a major part in helping Norwich to gain promotion and I am sure they would love to have him back there, permanently; in fact I am sure many clubs would like to sign him.

What our club needs to do is make sure they don’t get the chance, I really hope that while the club is going through the reserves/youth and having a clear out, they also make sure they tie a few down to new deals, Lansbury being top of the list, well, my list…. 😉

Henri’s contract is up soon and not long ago one of the red tops reported that he needs to know he will be part of the first team next season otherwise he will consider leaving. Whether he said that or not, we will never know..

Yesterday, ahead of European Under-21 Championships later this month Lansbury spoke about his future:

I think Arsenal’s the goal now, I have to go back and give it a go from there. It’s a chance for me to show the boss that I’m capable of a first-team place and it’s up to me to do it.

Lansbury would not rule out a return to Norwich if necessary!

It’s always great to be promoted into the Premier League. Paul Lambert gave me my chance to do that and I thank him a lot. It was great, obviously, getting first-team experience again and playing week in, week out was great. Promotion’s massive and to get that at 20 years of age was great.

Lansbury has also been inspired by Wilshere’s elevation to the senior England team.

Jack’s taken his chance and he’s done well, he’s a great player and I think it’s a great bunch of lads here that can do the same thing.

Jack Wilshere has shown what you can expect from an English player who has talent and passion, Lansbury wants to follow in his footsteps.

Surely he has to be the next Englishman to be given his chance?

If not, then what is the point of all of it??
