Morning Gooners,

Why is it that as each transfer window approaches we sit, wait and wonder if a certain player is going or staying? Is it me or has this really been going on as long as I imagine?

Of course we all know who it is this time around and again it’s Liverpool who want our young Englishman. The way Rodgers was so smug in an interview last summer when asked about Walcott, I strongly suspect he’s been waiting and hoping he can finally land his man on the cheap in January or for free in the summer. According to reports this morning, £8 Million is the price Rogers will be offering in a couple of months time.

Well if Theo wants to head off and join Liverpool then he really needs his head tested. I doubt their wage structure is any better than ours, their manager certainly isn’t!

However!!

Something seems to have changed in the last few days, maybe weeks in fact after Walcott stepped onto the turf at Upton Park and secured us 3 points against West Ham. He then gave us a bit more impetuous up front when he came off of the bench against Qpr but not as much as he did in the Capital One Cup against Reading.

Once he scored our first goal, the man came alive and so did they all and his three goals went a long  way towards ensuring we were in the pot for the next round.

It now seems Wenger has nothing but praise for our number 14:

In our team, we have freedom of movement. Nobody is handcuffed. When we have the ball, we have a lot of freedom to move. It’s important to know where we go, but I think Theo has learnt a lot on that.

He has good pace, [makes] excellent, intelligent runs, and what has changed with Theo is he’s become a very good finisher. I would take an example of his first goal the other night at Reading. It’s a real ‘finisher’s’ goal.

On his contract situation:

I’ve not thought about that [losing him], because at the moment I think we will still manage to make a deal with him. There is urgency [about sorting it out]. We want to sort it out before Christmas, one way or the other.

You fibber Arsene, of course you have thought about losing him and you really don’t want to.

Wenger needs t0 start playing the guy and not just from the bench either. His goals so far read seven in eleven fixtures and if he carries that on he will end up scoring more in one season than RvP did.

If he does, he made just save the club money in January too as a striker will no longer be at the top of the wish list.

It all makes sense, just play him, starting tomorrow at Old Trafford!

Next summer, we are heading to Indonesia.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis presented Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono with a personalised Arsenal shirt at No 10 Downing Street as part of a state visit to the UK.

Ivan Gazidis said:

Everyone at Arsenal is extremely excited to once again be visiting Asia and travelling to Indonesia for what will be the Club’s first visit to the country in 30 years.

We know that Arsenal enjoy fantastic support in Indonesia and we are all looking forward to bringing the Club closer to these loyal fans and learning more about the country’s rich heritage and culture.

I am sure it will be a great success and a wonderful experience for all involved but to be honest, I’d much rather Mr Gazidis was trying to sort out Theo’s contract with his agent, and finding new clubs for a few of our players…

Anyway, enough from me for today, have a good one…
