Morning all.

Once again an Arsenal player helps me out for a post.

We’ve heard from Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil, now we have an input from the Spanish camp from our own little midfield maestro:

I think that Spain as a country has always been obsessed with the World Cup. We often spoke about the different World Cups throughout history.

For Spain, it was always a pain, getting so far and then getting knocked out and when you’re young a lot of people talk about it.

The 1994 one was the first one I can remember. Among my clearest memories, like for a lot of other people, is (Diego) Maradona and what he did.

My favourite was probably the last one. For everyone in Spain, getting to the final and then Andres Iniesta’s goal… for the whole country it was great.

It’s a dream for me to play in a World Cup, especially after the last one in South Africa and what we achieved.

It’s probably the last chance for a few of us to play at the World Cup, so I want to seize the opportunity and do my utmost to enjoy it.

Santi will be 33 years old when the next World Cup comes around and I doubt very much if he’ll be involved in it so when he says this summers competition is the last for a few, I think he knows that it certainly will be for him.

Spain’s World Cup adventure could very soon be over too if they play like they did last night against Holland. The 5-1 loss was quite flattering really…

Chile beat Australia 3-1 (that Sanchez fella is pretty darn good Arsene!) and Cameroon were well beaten by Mexico. Ok it was 1-0 but the Mexican’s had two other chances denied by the officials, one which definitely should have been allowed imo.

Come on England.....

Come on England…..

England kick off their campaign tonight against Italy, 11 pm here in the Uk so I’ll probably need a siesta if I’m going to manage to stay awake for this match. Apparently Gianluigi Buffon has suffered an injury in training and could miss the game which if true, is great news for England.

There’s a few reports going around suggesting we have made a bit of money this transfer window. £6 million from the Fabregas move away from Barcelona and Real Sociedad have paid us £9 million so they can keep Carlos Vela.

Whether there is any truth in those reports I don’t know, but if there is, I hope it helps to ensure this transfer window is a going to be a really good one…

It has to be doesn’t it…..

Ivan says:

Transfers are obviously important and we are deep in conversations already.

That’s nice to know eh……..

That’s it for today, have a good one all…….
