Santi Cazorla admits his time is up. Ivan talks transfers & England kick off…..

Morning all.

Once again an Arsenal player helps me out for a post.

We’ve heard from Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil, now we have an input from the Spanish camp from our own little midfield maestro:

I think that Spain as a country has always been obsessed with the World Cup. We often spoke about the different World Cups throughout history.

For Spain, it was always a pain, getting so far and then getting knocked out and when you’re young a lot of people talk about it.

The 1994 one was the first one I can remember. Among my clearest memories, like for a lot of other people, is (Diego) Maradona and what he did.

My favourite was probably the last one. For everyone in Spain, getting to the final and then Andres Iniesta’s goal… for the whole country it was great.

It’s a dream for me to play in a World Cup, especially after the last one in South Africa and what we achieved.

It’s probably the last chance for a few of us to play at the World Cup, so I want to seize the opportunity and do my utmost to enjoy it.

Santi will be 33 years old when the next World Cup comes around and I doubt very much if he’ll be involved in it so when he says this summers competition is the last for a few, I think he knows that it certainly will be for him.

Spain’s World Cup adventure could very soon be over too if they play like they did last night against Holland. The 5-1 loss was quite flattering really…

Chile beat Australia 3-1 (that Sanchez fella is pretty darn good Arsene!) and Cameroon were well beaten by Mexico. Ok it was 1-0 but the Mexican’s had two other chances denied by the officials, one which definitely should have been allowed imo.

Come on England.....
Come on England…..

England kick off their campaign tonight against Italy, 11 pm here in the Uk so I’ll probably need a siesta if I’m going to manage to stay awake for this match. Apparently Gianluigi Buffon has suffered an injury in training and could miss the game which if true, is great news for England.

There’s a few reports going around suggesting we have made a bit of money this transfer window. £6 million from the Fabregas move away from Barcelona and Real Sociedad have paid us £9 million so they can keep Carlos Vela.

Whether there is any truth in those reports I don’t know, but if there is, I hope it helps to ensure this transfer window is a going to be a really good one…

It has to be doesn’t it…..

Ivan says:

Transfers are obviously important and we are deep in conversations already.

That’s nice to know eh……..

That’s it for today, have a good one all…….

    Morning all.
Missed the Spain – Holland game – went out for a curry – but saw the goals … Watched Chile v Australia.

Chile certainly weren’t that impressive and will get spanked versus a decent team. Very over elaborate, and tended to attack centrally via one yard passes as opposed to playing out to the the wings. It maybe because none of their players are over 3 ft 6.

Australia were nothing more than a pub side. I think Arsenal ladies would give them a game and probably beat them.

Song to Chelsea. LOL. He just loves that bench.

  2. Micky Dee says:

Geeze Southyork…that’s a bit harsh!I thought they did OK once they got their confidence. Go the gunners.

  3. goonster says:

Not that I give a flying fuck about that shithead song but am gonna be sick to my stomach watching another ex gunner line up against us.

  4. potter says:

On last nights performance , time is up on a number of Spanish players only Iniesta’s passing seemed truly world class. They got taken apart by a Dutch team that clearly wanted it more . Watching Costa he is a Drogba clone not as clinical in front of goal but coupled with Cesc replacing Lampard Mourinho’s blueprint is coming clear.

Have to agree Goonie , if Vermaelen goes to United as predicted the Arsene scouting scheme will be supplying all of our rivals again and the idiot with the mike will get fed up up with “”And we welcome back whoever . Every home match.

  5. TT says:

goonster re fabregas ask your self this.

    1. Why did Barcelona want to off load him.
    2. Why did utd pull out.
    3. Why did he only go for 27m when Luiz went for a lot more to PSG.
    4. Why did Arsenal not go for him when all was needed was to say come home.
    5. Why is it that no other big club actually showed the slightest interest.

Cesc is no longer the player he was. He would slow down our game when what we need is to speed it up. We already have one of the best #10 in the world, even maureen acnowledges that.

Get me a top striker, right back and a good DM and we will arguably have a better team next year than Chelsea as long as we can keep our players fit…and hiering the new fitness coatch may just clinch that.

  6. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning all.
    Pub side SYG?
Well next time your local gets a side in the World Cup let me know lol
Spain are gone…..they actually need to give guys like Santi a go and stop playing the same guys they’ve had for 8-10 years now.
They’re a stale, aged unit nowadays and that’s the issue when you have massive success.
It makes it very, very hard to bring new players into a very successful side.

  7. goonster says:

Potter if verm goes to manure then that’s it for me and football. I ll probably take up kite watching.

  8. goonster says:

Howdy Scotty oz…have to agree with SYG there. Australia was pretty shit last night. You guys tea should have taken shawn along 😀

  9. frednerk says:

What I get pissed off about..
we make a statement telling us gooners the bad days are behind us regarding selling players,
we are compeating to buy the best,
we do not want to strengthen our rivals,
yet all we get throughout the transfer window is grief.
we have all this….so called wad for transfers,
and it seems our only aim is to make it last as long as possible.

  10. Scott from Oz says:

Stan, no need to get over excited until your boys play us.
One things for certain…..we will put up a better fight than the Spanish guys.
Remember Holland always do this….well, until the pressure is on 🙂

  11. Scott from Oz says:

The problems we Aussies have is a great outdoor lifestyle here meaning surfing, swimming, cricket and other sports get their share of participants.
Also, Football is amongst 4 big codes here, so we have a quarter of the talent pool of “footballers” actually playing the game.
We also have had crap coaching so for us to even make a World Cup is an enormous feat, considering we hardly live for the game here…well, most don’t.
We go alright, all things considered.

  12. goonster says:

Ha good one Scott but you know the outcome of any fight between an elephant and an egg. If you ausssies fall on us you cracked and hell If we stamp our huge feet on you. We ll crush us 😀 there’s only one winner Scott the way I see it.

  13. goonster says:

TT am sorry but costa is way overated plus saying he’s a better player than Drogba is actually a ridiculous statement. He’s not even close to giroud let alone drogba. Wait till August and see for yourself.

  14. nick farrer says:

More hot air from the human pr mole gazidis wengers busy commentating for canal + he hasnt got time for trivial matters like sorting this squad out the guy is a charlatan & a parasite !!

  15. southyorkshiregunner says:

Australia get to the World Cup because they don’t play anyone … Iraq, Iran, Fiji, Qatar, UAE, Indonesia, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Virgin Islands…

Stick Austroilia in with some proper football teams and they’d never reach any world cup finals.

Tommy Oar. Possibly the worst player I’ve seen.

  16. nick farrer says:

Wenger will be rummaging around like someone at the reduced section in tescos its all last minute.com with this until he goes nothings ever gonna change groundhog day see if im not right hes busy cleaning his 4th place cup or his lovechild diaby is !!

  17. goonster says:

SYG 😀 that was pretty harsh in Tommy oar. Lol. It’s not his fault he’s got two left legs.

  18. tsgh says:

Well played Scott re the OZ.. Jedinak was an Aussie rules player in the centre of the park…

I want him at Arsenal even more now…
    You forgot Tahiti Syg… 😛

On a serious note , goonie did i not say the oranje will turn up? lol

  19. southyorkshiregunner says:

    Morning Ginge…..

Hiya Adam – No idea re: Carzorla. It’d be great to know the reality of what actually goes on. If Chile get anything out of the Spain game, which is possible but doubtful, the last place Carzorla will want to be is in Spain.

Martinez will definitely figure in the next game.

  20. potter says:

Cazorla to Atletico , he was pretty vocal about getting Cesc back and he is with him in Brazil . perhaps we have created another disaffected player not happy with the ambition shown by our beloved leadership.

  21. rogerbij says:

Im gonna hit up a controversial topic – Nigel De Jong to Arsenal . Now this got a lot of thumbs down a few days ago, but after watching him start and take it to Spain last night, I think this isnt a bad option at all. Noone could accuse us of being soft in the middle – if you look at him he’ll kill you. He is that hungry animal prowling and driving the pack, and last night in the first half when spain were dominant he broke up play and made the midfield a battleground. He’s not beautiful, but we have the rest of our midfield for that. Im going to give this a tentative thumbs up here – a Dutch international is not a bad choice.

  22. tsgh says:

TT you make a valid point but its not music to the ears of AFC who love and worship Cesc the snake… lol

Every player has his day and it looks like Cesc as beeen lucky to have been at the top since 17 to about 26… only a few manage a career at the very top for that long.

Even the great PV04 was sold after AW saw how Arteta made him look in 2005 against Everton…

I would rather we got a proper DM so that the likes of Sc19 and Ozil can excel at what they do… as a compromise 😉

  23. tsgh says:

Goonie, you remember us discussing Blind in January? top player; he plays the no.3 role and no.6 role perfectly and is left footed just as AW wants his CMers…

You have a point Roger but I think De Guzman did lots of the donkey work for De Jong imo…

  24. goonster says:

Oh don’t start ginge we all know that’s how we start then implode when push comes to shove. Plus Spain was really atrocious. They need to get players like isco illaramendi a chance. Xavi iniesta and the other old guards needs to retire.

  25. Adam says:

Potter. When you actually think of the positions we need players or cover in and then factor in that Vermaelen might also go, to say nothing of the possibility of Podolski too I just cannot see Wenger buying 5 or 6 proper players myself. Unless a player of Javi Martinez’s quality is bought in that midfield area, the failure to sign Cesc and the decision to strengthen Chelsea is going to look pretty odd.

  26. tsgh says:

Syg/Potter-I will be very surprised if Simeone is interested in SC19… SC19 will be his ‘laziest’ player; without sounding bad…

I think Simeone has a bigger need for a striker than even AW with Villa and Costa leaving with Koke and Turan also moving…

  27. Danish Gooner says:

Deep in conversation ????? Is that when Gazidis sends a text to Wenger and Wenger sends one back saying he is on holiday ???

  28. potter says:

I don’t think that Iniesta is finished last night some of his through balls inside the backs were sublime , he just had no-one to get on the end of them. Xavi however looks to have peaked , which makes the sale of Cesc even more baffling.

  29. goonster says:

I still think the Italians will win it. My gut feeling though. Something is not right with the Dutch team. Spain is a crumbling piece of shit. Germany well let’s see them play a proper game. Which leaves italy. No one is talking about them which suits them nicely. I think they got a combination of youth and experience. Pirlo is still weaving his magic. They ve got immobile and insigne. Shame montolivo is injured. So there you have it. Italy is my favorite to win the world cup.

  30. Scott From Oz says:

Syg, didn’t we beat England last time we played them?
Oh that’s right, you said “proper” teams.
Stan, there are possibly 3-4 sports Holland would beat us at.
The other hundred or so though 🙂 🙂 🙂

  31. allezkev says:

BT62 that is a very point you make re: Van Gaal.

Next season, ManUre will be very much back in the mix.
Van Gaal won’t fanny about like ‘you know who’.
He isn’t interested in legacy or building for the future.
For Van Gaal it’s all about now….
ManUre will be organised and strong, and imo nailed-on for a top-four finish and maybe more!!!

ManC will be strong as will Chelski, both will strengthen big-time this summer.
And despite CL football, Liverpool will be major contenders.
Whilst Everton will again be dangerous….

So if Wenger dithers and if Tom Fox and Law ponce about, then we could find next season really is a season too far for a top-four finish….

  32. goonster says:

Brazil don’t count. This is the worst Brazil team I ve seen in years. Bunch of average diving cheating coonts.

  33. Adam says:

Potter. I believe Barcelona have others coming through in that position but my understanding from friends within Arsenal is that Cesc is carrying a lot of baggage these days so that ‘might’ have contributed at both ends. I suppose that we look back at the player he was and although I think we perhaps should have bought him back, if there is a better candidate in the works who we actually sign rather than make a derisory offer for, then perhaps it might work out (he said, hopefully, but without conviction). 🙂

  34. southyorkshiregunner says:

Ginge said: Every player has his day and it looks like Cesc as beeen lucky to have been at the top since 17 to about 26… only a few manage a career at the very top for that long.

    Too true.

Rooney is EXACTLY the same. Playing on reputation. A bit like Charlton in 1970

  35. Scott From Oz says:

Adam, Wenger signing that many is even less likely after he has publicly stated bringing in more than 3-4 players at one time upsets the balance of the squad.
    Interesting times, as always.

  36. southyorkshiregunner says:

Scott. Goran Erikksen played 22 players in that game. It shouldn’t have even been billed as an England game more an England XI

..The country’s most prolific striker ever made his debut in that game…. King Jeffers…. which shows how serious it was taken….

Don’t go bringing up the England 0-1 USA in Belo Horizonte next, I might end up busting my didgery-doo

  37. Scott From Oz says:

Smug, you’re only as good as your last game, and last time out we won, so there we have it.
And “soccer” being our 3rd or 4th football code here whipping the “home of football”.
    Those were the days 🙂

  38. goonster says:

Don’t even wanna bore myself with our inactivity. Transfer or not we are miles behind the top teams now. A fully fit arsenal team can compete pound for pound with the best but ask yourself this. When was the last time we ever had a fully fit team…that’s as rare as hair on WATH’s head.

  39. Scott From Oz says:

Trust me though, our coach has taken the right attitude in.
We were absolutely no chance, so heading over with a younger squad at least gives them some experience against the best.
All I said before the game was these guys would fight their hearts out.
    They did.
    Spain on the other hand……..

  40. southyorkshiregunner says:

In 2001/2 Wenger brought in a few players.

Wright, Jeffers, Campbell, Van Bronkhurst, Kolo Toure and the Japanese kid. We won the double.

More than four players in that lot.

Wenger does talk a lot of bollocks at times.

  41. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, that’s been the killer for the last year or two.
Our best 11 is at least a match for any in the League.
Our next 3-4 are the same.
    After that, we are gone.

  42. goonster says:

Oh come on scott. We did beat your ass in the world championship of swimming. The only sport I know you can murder us in is cricket but that don’t count I mean who watch that drab piece of an eye sore. I ll rather watch porn 😀

  43. Scott From Oz says:

If anyone ever asks me who the Dutch guy in the porno wearing an arsenal kit was, I will know hahahahaha

  44. goonster says:

Hey Scott whatever happened to your world class swimmers seems like the rest of the world have caught up with you guys. Since Ian Thorpe the torpedo you guys have produced zilch. Just keep yapping about beating England in the ashes. I mean who cares. It’s England they suck at everything except being English 😀

  45. goonster says:

Hahaha no Scott that will be robbing van herpes. Am too classy for porn. Am a blonde Adonis remember?

  46. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, our swimmers all fancied themselves as celebrities and forgot they had to work at their trade.
Bunch of prima donnas, the lot of them and it had been coming for a while.
The Olympics was the best thing to happen to Oz swimming.
Watch those same swimmers in the Commonwealth games later on, because they have not been in the social mags for quite a while now.

  47. Gunnerdna says:

Morning all. If Silva had score and make it 2-0 it would be a different story. The problem with Spain is the team is unbalance just like arsenal.

  48. goonster says:

Oh please where have I heard that before. You guys are done, washed up and found out. The south Africans have a good pool of swimmers too. The common wealth games is not actually how to prove your mettle. You only compete with south Africa and great Britain. Wait till the Olympics. We dutch have a suprise for you all. Plus the Americans too are really strong. I doubt you ll win any medals at all. Maybe as the biggest swimming nation to flop at the Olympics. Lol

  49. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, what was the name of that Dutch girl that won medals galore….well, apparently she was a she…..De Bruin was it?
Mate, even you wouldn’t do porn with her lol

  50. goonster says:

Lol what video scott…you had better not let cassie see that. She reads this blog I ll have you know. Lol

  51. Bt62 Gooner says:

Afternoon all, Scott you were spot on with your prediction yesterday, unfortunately. Kev 12:06 pretty much how i see it panning out, Van Gaal, won’t suffer fools lightly, and Arsenal, will just be Arsenal, i suspect,i live in the hope of a proactive transfer window, but only hope,

  52. goonster says:

Dna am still bruised bro. Don’t even want to remember. Some still think we don’t need him. Mind boggling.

  53. Gunnerdna says:

This story is so annoying, ARSENAL have profited from the sale of former hero Cesc Fabregas to bitter rivals Chelsea – Barcelona have paid them £2.5m due to a contract clause.

  54. ktr7 says:

Good read rico despite the lack of arsenal related news.

Watching the dutch last night absolutely tear into spain especially in the 2nd half gave me a thought as to another reason why we did not go back for cesc.

Lehmann recently said ever since cesc replaced vieira our game slowed down a lot since he takes 2 or 3 touches more than the frenchman. However now with Ozil and Ramsey in the middle we play much fasterin terms of progressing forward. All we lacked is more pace up front to properly execute and exploit this.

It seems to me that most top teams are playing this way.Real madrid tore to Bayern playing this way, Liverpool/Chelsea tore us apart this way.I think next season we’ll go back to the invincibles blueprint if we can get the players Wenger wants.

It was thrilling to watch Holland last night because of how direct and hungry they were.Robben can really play when he wants to.

  55. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, I am not sure people think we wouldn’t benefit from having Cesc, but if we spent the cash on him, we’d surely have to give up on strengthening a position we really are short in.

  56. Gunnerdna says:

Goon, being defensive of mistakes arsenal made and dismissive of facts is the way to go, so i’m not surprise re Cesc Fabregas. The entire Spain squad is deemed no good and look how we got smashed under Mr Pensioner Lord AW?

  57. ktr7 says:

I also enjoyed Rvp’s goal yesterday (header).he showed he is a world class striker since he had to improvise that finish.not many strikers can do what he did.its what separates very good strikers and world class ones.i don’t think i’ve ever seen a goal quite like it.take a bow vp.if only we had such a forward…

  58. Scott From Oz says:

DNA, that’s the way to go now, but not long back it was all the rage to demand Ramsey be given away.
    Times change, hey lol

  59. Bt62 Gooner says:

Kt, having watched BM last season, do you think Pep is trying to turn them into a new version of Barca?

  60. goonster says:

You know what Scott he’s gone let’s stop talking about him. It hurts to see our former hero wearing the hated ones jersey. Imagine the consternation when fabregas assists costa to score the winning goal against us in the fa cup final or maybe help put us out of Europe all together cause it will happen sometime and at this rate I ll say sooner than later.

  61. ktr7 says:

Bt62 pep is obsessed with possession football.he is trying to make them the new barca but with inferior players. Most Bayern fans don’t like it and prefer the style employed by Heynckes.

  62. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, will we feel joy is Jose does to Cesc what he has done to so many creative players over the last few seasons though?
    He’s gone.
    We have Aaron.
On the last 12 months form, I know who I’d rather 🙂

  63. Gunnerdna says:

No Ramsey debate for me, can’t stand old age pensioner mentality, always ignoring the truth by deflecting the conversion to the past.

  64. goonster says:

Yeah Scott we have Aaron but guess what no one ll have said that 2 years ago. I remember how me and you suffered from continuing supporting him when everyone had their heels on his neck but the thing is he ll be overplayed again burn out and be injured for huge chunks of the season. Where will we be then? Huh? Not getting fabregas will come back and bite us in the butt. Mark my words.

  65. goonster says:

Spot on adam and he better deliver or the emirates ll be a hornets nest and trust me he and the players won’t like it.

  66. goonster says:

Oh he worries bt he does worry. Had we lost that fa cup you would have found out first hand.

  67. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, as Adam said, the pressure is really on Wenger now…more so than ever before, and he has nobody to blame, and no excuses.

  68. Gunnerdna says:

People sitting thinking that we will keep this group of player without winning trophies need to wake up. Loyalty is only at afc. lol

  69. Adam says:

Bt. Judging by the relief on his face at the end of the Cup Final I would say yes. And I have seen him sitting opposite me at the Emirates when the crowd were restless too. I would say he feels it acutely. The question is, will he react to it?

  70. Adam says:

If he handled the last few transfer windows properly then perhaps we wouldn’t be looking at a large turnover this summer,

  71. goonster says:

That’s exactly what I told my cousin last night dna. Who here thinks ozil or even our hero ramsey ll stick around if we go another year without a trophy. Look guys if a gooner like cashley could leave us for chelshit I won’t put it beyond anyone. As a matter of fact I ll do what Ktt7 did all those years ago…don’t have any favorite player anymore.

  72. Adam says:

Stan. There are only two trophies that really count and this year we will be up against a rejuvenated Chelsea and Man Utd. Factor in Liverpool and the obscene buying power of Man City and it ain’t gonna be easy.

  73. goonster says:

Adam this might offend a few wengerites but I wish he didn’t renew his contract. He could have left a hero now trust me his legacy ll be ruined. Next season ll be his worse as a manager. He’s been found out. Even Martinez can out fox him now. I fear those maulinga ll be a regular occurrence as long as he stays put. God help us all

  74. Gunnerdna says:

Goon, i can’t believe Sagna leave to sit on Man City bench. The girls these players date/marry will influence what they do, better wages change players mentality. If Cesc lift the PL its gonna have a effect on arsenal team when they consider that AFC turn him down.

  75. frednerk says:

Who is the most likable manager Wenger or Maureen=Wenger
Who’s mentality would you rather have when buying and selling players.Wenger or Maureen=No Brainy

  76. Adam says:

Stan. Shame you feel so negatively about it. I have my own feelings about Wenger but he is here now and has over 100 million quid to spend to lift a very decent set of players into a PL winning squad. I wouldn’t get too down about it yet. Other teams have there own issues too.

  77. goonster says:

Dna sagna I understand he’s suffered 2 broken legs. Plus he’s over 30. Come on now. We needed to move him on. Plus his crossing is pretty much up there as the worse thing on TV only topped by keeping up with the kardashians. Am not overly fussed he’s gone. Good luck to him.

  78. nick farrer says:

Less we shouldnt forget wenger will need a holiday straight after the world cup as all that commentating will tire him out the guy just continues to mug the fans off before we know it he will be talking diaby up as a new signing u cant make this s*** up any other so called big club would have sacked his sorry ass by now but hes making kroenke & gazidis to much dosh! What a complete joke !!!

  79. goonster says:

Haha adam…A 100 million quid? More like a million. Come on now. Arsene ll rather die of coronary heart disease than spend a hundred million on transfers.

  80. Gunnerdna says:

Goon, if arsenal can’t keep MA08, Diaby, Jenkinson & OG12, Sagna could have stay. The AW mentality states that square pegs fit round holes, Sagna was perfect for that. RB, LB and CB. With exception of SC, Why no other arsenal players are linked to any other club?

  81. Adam says:

Stan. We will see. Most speculation is idle and we hear the usual complaints from the usual suspects, none of whom to my knowledge actually attend any games and the vast majority don’t even live in the UK. Arsenal are a different club to the one I grew up with but they have always been a focal point for the lunatic fringe. One will be along at any moment.

  82. goonster says:

Great comment nick farrier…I have the same reservations about this summer. It’s not going to end well adam. Mark my words. Heads ll roll.

  83. tsgh says:

Syg, well Conte will be one of my preference if/when Aw leaves…

Rudi Garcia plus Gervinho coming back of course… lol 😛

  84. potter says:

Hi Adam , lunatic resident of block 10 here.
Barcelona sources are suggesting that Chelsea actually paid 38 million euros ( £ 32 m ) for Cesc of which Arsenal receive just 1 million. Every report from differing sources has different figures. Probably we will never know exactly as in their financial reports clubs don’t itemise individual deals.

  85. goonster says:

Ohhhhhh blood ll flow. I can see it now. We implode by mid November and the fans riot. Wenger is forced to resign kroenke sells off and rides into the sunset. And we are left with shadows and dust.

  86. tsgh says:

Barca had Cesc and still won jack all…

Whilst Ath had no super stars and did very well…

We have finally managed to go away from a one 1 band team to a collective force…

Will Cesc have wanted the captain armband back straight away?

  87. Adam says:

Hi Potter. You know the form here though. Just make up a load of old cobblers, including figures, to support your own position. The transfer window isn’t open yet.
I have been critical of Wenger for years now but he has a contract so let’s see what he comes up with. That’s all.

  88. goonster says:

Dna likewise….we ll be hit for 6 again and this time our ex players ll contribute which ll hurt more.

  89. tsgh says:

What makes folks think Sagna will be on the bench?

He is the 2nd/3rd choice CB as Lescott is out and Richards sick note will leave…

  90. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Shadows and dust Goonie???

The only thing you have in commom with Gladiator is the letter G. 😛

May I remind you all that the season starts in August and ends in May, No trophies are won between May and August. And the transfer window shuts on 31st August not now.

Good Afternoon Sunshines and Moon rays.

  91. Bt62 Gooner says:

Adam, been there myself when the flak been flying, he certainly doesn’t seemed to have learned from it.I think it’s more the thought of his philosophy on the way to do things failing, that puts him under pressure. imo.

  92. Adam says:

Hi Dev. Goonie is the self appointed King of the Doomers today. He may be right.
BT. I completely get that but, having just given the club another £3k I can’t get into the negativity before the transfer window has even opened.

  93. goonster says:

Howdy DG yes season ends in may but my guess is ours might end in November. We see lucky with the fa cup draw plus fergucoont retirement made the league closer. Next season maureen ll want to win it. Shitty ll want to retain it manure ll be like a pissed nun with painful boil down her ass and not having to play in Europe ll help their cause. I forsee terrible season guys. A very bad one.

  94. tsgh says:

£3k? that could buy me a few pastries from Golan Heights that will make me finally have the girth and wisdom of Hunter.. lol

  95. nick farrer says:

Anyone notice how these ex gooners like winterburn groves & the biggest culprit ray im on wengers payroll parlour keep bumming him up lol ! Wengers become unsackable they should call arsenal arsene fc now cos hes just a total dictator hes ego is bigger than the club wenger should have left about 5 yrs ago the fact hes still there says more about the spineless turds running the club !!!

  96. Hell Raising Devil says:

put a few quid on that Ginge

never take anything for granted with Abramovich around

So put eur5 on maureen getting sacked.

  97. tsgh says:

Good news for us… Buffon suffered a slight ankle sprain. He will see this morning if he can play. If not, Sirigu starts.

  98. frednerk says:

Ts respect what you say but,
most of us gooners feel that Fab would have been a good signing,
we have a load of midfielders who just don’t carry any weight when it comes to a tear up,is he really a one man team..got me there.
We have once again made another team stronger,I keep reading on here that maureen has’nt a clue yet we can’t beat the chavs at anything.
£.S.P.Stuck in a pension fund..is no good to the arsenal fans.

  99. Adam says:

    Where is Rico when needed?
Ts. Listening to the crap some on here speak I might have been better off spending the money in just that way. 🙂
    Fucking keyboard warriors.

  100. Bt62 Gooner says:

Adam, depending were you read the window is open now/ July1, I can understand your reason for not getting into a negative tail spin. I’m hoping Arsene gives me the reasons, to lift my self imposed exile, i do miss a good day out in N.London.

  101. Gunnerdna says:

The “early days” argument and AW track record in the transfer market doesn’t adds up, a surprise would be good.

  102. allezkev says:

    Kif Int Habib.

Rumours of selling Santi Cazorla, hmm yes, that would be a very bright move, I don’t think.

Of course, the small economist inside Arsene, might see the benefits of getting a good price for a 29year old.
But i’d rather he’d see Cazorla as a key member of the squad and key to any success next season

  103. nick farrer says:

Id love to see 4 new signings minimum back up keeper maybe alex mcarthy atreading a new right back someone like piczeck at dortmund a solid holding midfielder artetato slow now diabys a joke wouldnt mind witsel at zenit big strong eye for a goal & a pacy striker maybe jackson martinez at porto when walcotts missing we lack any natural pace like to see gnarbry get more starts as well !!!!

  104. Scott From Oz says:

Damn, we have some negativity floating around, and I can understand why.
I mean 9 seasons without a trophy is unacceptable.

  105. goonster says:

Lol scott…we can’t always be “smiley spastics” 😀 we re human after all even though sometimes I wonder if adam is 😀

  106. tsgh says:

Fred, I really really really like Cesc even now.. same as I like RVP….
but at the end of the day the player could have joined us last summer but either him or DD were pushing for a move to Old Trafford…

In my view if I was a long/life term supporters like yourself, kev, Adam, potter, syg I may have a different view to you…

But unfortunately, I am someone who s always looking at things with a skeptical eye

Some call it paranoia or being strategic…lol

e.g I still do not allow anyone to stand behind me in lifts, I still take evasive actions when I am on holidays which ‘cheeses off’ my mrs.. and look backwards every X steps when I am walking.

The moral of my gibberish is that IG said Cesc won’t be coming back in 2011 and Ozil signing was the final nail imho… it is a shame the media made fans have false expectations when IG even said during his latest Q&A that Cesc was not coming back…

  107. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, fair enough but why waste every waking moment stressing and complaining about something that may or may not happen?
The window will come and go, and no matter how positive or negative we are, it will come to an end and we will have what we have.
How long til the TW ends?
    No point worrying yet.

  108. frednerk says:

Wish I could take that line ts,but like you say,us old gits get angry when another old git(wenger) give’s us bullsh#t.

  109. tsgh says:

In my view we can all field 11 players… I know I go on about Arteta and a few other players but 1 player does not make a team as we all know…

if Chelsea beat us 100 but lose to Crystal Palace; the same 3 points are won and lost… the issue is that AW does not know how to pick his battles whilst Jose does…

Jose will rather beat AW an lose to Blackpool… that says something imho…

  110. goonster says:

Alright scott…I hold my hands up. I know when am beaten. It’s just that seeing fabregas hold that jersey irks me big time. Next he ll be sitting next to the abominable one spouting shit about us. Imagine John Terry scoring and cesc hugging him. Lord God in heaven. Somebody shoot me. Shoot me now.

  111. Scott From Oz says:

    Don’t concede mate lol.
Keep battling against the forces of evil, the voices inside.
    Keep the faith 🙂
Believe me, this is it for Arsene.
If he doesn’t get the job done this time, he is finished with most Gooners, I reckon.
I’ve found what I believe to be valid excuses for lack of big signings, but right now, knowing what we know about finances and knocking back Cesc means he has backed himself into a corner, so simply must do business.

  112. Scott From Oz says:

Oh, and anyone wanting a 2010 WC issue Spanish shirt signed by Cesc can get one from me, going cheap 🙂

  113. goonster says:

I hope you re right scott….I really hope you are. I can’t take another 6.2.5.1.6.0 I just cant.

  114. goonster says:

Kt oranje don’t interest me anymore. Ajax provides the bulk of the team and I hate Ajax plus you just know we ll get knocked out in the quarter finals so why get excited.

  115. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, give us a big, ugly, scary DM and it won’t happen.
Also, give us all 11 players working in defence and it won’t happen.
Apart from Citeh, when I absolutely maintain we could have and should have won, barring shit decisions, the other debacles had one of our best workers missing.
Yes, Aaron again……we still underestimate how much he means to the side.

  116. ktr7 says:

I know ita hard ts but thats why we need to bolster the squad to at least have that option.when theo is out as it stands we can barely break at pace.

  117. potter says:

Ts re :- 2.28. If you are right about his statements and you probably are . It suggests that contrary to public opinion . Wenger does not have the final say at the club.

  118. ktr7 says:

ts away from home in big games it will be advantageous to have the squad to pull it off.

Scott thats why i asked.i think with a WC striker and those 2 on opposite flanks especially away from home it could be a joy to watch.

  119. ktr7 says:

I agree scott.and thats why i think wenger was unwilling to disrupt the Ozil/Ramsey axis.they accelerate our game so well since they are not tiki taka type of players.with the right players up front we could go up a notch.

  120. Bt62 Gooner says:

Ts, don’t know if you listen to Bergkamp Wonderland podcasts, a while back John the Gooner in Barcelona, made a comment about Cesec. He referred to interviews given to the Catalan press, by Fab regarding Arsenal as less flattering, than we hear in the UK. He’s gone, lets move on.

  121. Wath says:

I see Stan ain’t taken his pills today………….. All that creaming from watching his team last night.

Oh how different is SIlva had buried that chance a minute before that manc cnut equalized.

  122. goonster says:

And for your information I don’t cream when the oranje play. Never had never will….I only cream for my darling arsenal. How are you fella? What’s your predictions for tonight’s game?

  123. Wath says:

Ox is still not fit enough to play JM…..

I think if Roy picks an attacking side Stan I think England will win, He needs to be attacking…!

So when Holland win the WC your not going to be happy Stan…. Your such a liar lol

I am good mate, Hows Cassie…? hope she doing well, apart from being married to you of course 😉

  124. Wath says:

    All good matey…. I’ve just opened a nice red….!
Some decent footie yesterday…! Nice seeing some good players that we know will be playing for AFC next season 😉

  125. goonster says:

I ll be rooting for the azuris WATH. I ve always had a soft spot for the Italians. Hopefully they Clinch it. Hey adam feeling better?

  126. Wath says:

I like Italian as well Stan…… Pizza over pasta though….!

Greece with a Portuguese manager…. What ever next…?

  127. goonster says:

5pm WATH….dna If that’s Cuadrado then am not surprised. He’s been my favorite player in Europe over the past two seasons. I hear he’s on his way to barfa. Bummer.

  128. Wath says:

Cuadrado is a player Ts likes Stan but his dodgy ownership means we won’t be looking to sign him although we have been linked with him a few times.

  129. goonster says:

WATH he would have improved us massively. Shame though. Quick tricky can beat his man and unlike gerwanko has an eye for goal. Am gutted WATH. Ozil ll have had a field day.

  130. goonster says:

Well we ll probably buy the next big thing….he’s black he’s big he’s from the congo. Give it up for pirre utanga umbongo 😀

  131. Wath says:

You all love this Umbongo fella……….. lol

Yep quick and tricky Stan but he’s part owned in Italy so that normally rules us out of buying a player.

  132. goonster says:

WATH I can’t wait for the day he ll be unveiled. A mammoth crowd is expected. He ll be larger than life.

  133. Wath says:

I can’t wait Stan………….. Lee apparently is so excited he’s already booked a weeks leave to celebrate…!

  134. goonster says:

Eto is just past it…He’s been around for so long so I don’t actually think he lied about his age. I ve known eto since the early 2000s. That’s a 14 year career. And he’s still playing in the top level.

  135. goonster says:

Oh yeah I ve heard good things about him dna. Don’t think he ll love to play second fiddle to sir chesny though. Which is why not getting Australia’s finest from fulham stinks now.

  136. rico says:

Ahhhh, you all been missing me?? 😉 😉

I see the parental control has been taken off one or two computers today… lol

  137. Gunnerdna says:

Goon, if we get Julio Cesar or Ospina, Scz will be 2nd choice. All Scz have is a big mouth.

  138. goonster says:

Hahahahahahahahahahahahah dna you ll be the death of me. A big mouth huh? He’s talented though I ll give him that. He’s just like bentgoat the world’s best striker but with talent.

  139. goonster says:

Wenger won’t sell verm to United. He won’t be that stupid maam. That’s 3 arsenal captains to our direct rivals. Nah I don’t think so. The fans ll be up in arms.

  140. goonster says:

More like she came back to offer moral support to kev WATH adam lee et al. This England team is shit 😀

  141. Gunnerdna says:

Goon, we have to support England they have Ox and JW, although I hate the hype around Gerrard, Henderson and the dude from Southhampton. Lol

  142. goonster says:

Lol dna I don’t have no problem with England just like my beloved oranje they always ley you down. 2002 world cup under sven England took the lead against Brazil and up till thay goal were the better team. Then after the goal they went defensive. Playing a 4 6 0 formation. The rest is history. Had they gone for the jugular and got a second goal. England could have been world champions.

  143. goonster says:

I ll rather have that Japanese right back from shalke. Going forward he is a beast. What we ve lacked since Lauren retired. Sagna is below average going forward. That’s why am not losing sleep he’s gone.

  144. goonster says:

Serge aurier is not a bad addition too but he’s from cote d voire meaning he ll be off to the acon every year. So that’s a no no to me.

  145. rico says:

Goonster, that Japanese guy is reported to be rubbish at defending though, surely we need to have a player who can do his primary job properly first?

  146. Gunnerdna says:

Goon, do u honestly think a Japanese right back can survive in the Pl against Stokes and the likes? Sagna wasn’t good going forward but he was hard like nail. Uchida would be a good deal for shirt sales. Lol

  147. goonster says:

Dna y p lee played for the spuds for years and didn’t do badly. Plus he’s Japanese meaning you ll get a lot of relentless running. He ll always be an outlet for our attack. Those guys can run for 160 mins and still look fresh. God. Am waiting to see how shit he is in defense before passing judgement on him.

  148. goonster says:

Maam gazidas can’t afford my wages. I ll be off to the chavs soon to join up with the abominable one.

  149. goonster says:

Thanks maam…would rather have a premier league proven striker. I ll rather have loic remy.

  150. rico says:

Out of all the strikers we have been linked to, Martinez has the best goal to game ratio. Looking forward to watching him…

  151. goonster says:

Dna he’s 28, has leaked and has few years left in him. No resale value plus no premier league experience? Thanks man. I ll pass. Remy is half his price and twice the player.

  152. goonster says:

Rico he plays in the superliga come on now. Francis Jeffers ll rip the superliga apart. It’s just Porto and the rest. A one team league.

  153. Gonerjoe says:

We do have a right back that can run and run is a better crosser than Sagna ever was.
Plays better the more he plays is also Arsenal through and through not worried about our right back we just need cover.
If the was an iota of truth in Cazorla to Atl Madrid Cesc would not be at Chelsea.

  154. goonster says:

Exactly joe…the corporal is still lurking plus like you said he’s arsenal through and through.

  155. rico says:

Not sure Jm would agree goonster…

Joe, I too am in Jenks corner, but I think most know that by now… 😉

  156. goonster says:

Dude jenko is 22 right?? At that age cashley was already a full international. Age has nothing to do with it.

  157. Gunnerdna says:

Jenkinson is not ready to start for Arsenal, the team have so many holes and people ready to add another 1, I don’t care if he has a bed room full of arsenal gear and hate Tottenham, so do I.

  158. rico says:

It’s all about personal opinion Gdna, I know I wouldn’t be unhappy if Jenks takes the rb position and we sign an older rb to cover…

  159. Gonerjoe says:

Mark my words Jenks should be starting for England tonight. The current one can’t remember he’s name and can’t be arsed to look him will let England down.

  160. Gunnerdna says:

Rico, the only school I attend is Sunday school, I’m not at the level to produce so much paragraph just yet. Lol

  161. goonster says:

Lol joe Jenks is twice the player that scouser is. I remember him shutting down robben at the allianz arena. An arsenal legend was born so I thought but as always le scrooge had other ideas. Sagna should have fought for thay shirt but as soon as he came back arsene chucked jenko on the bench and played an atrocious sagna. He was so poor that some fans almost turned him into another eboue.

  162. goonster says:

Gee rico am almost done with my post. Wait for it. It’s to die for. I ll go down a legend for that post. You ll get 3000 comments. Mark my words.

  163. Micko says:

Watch it tsgh, haven’t touched a drop since yesterday, scared I may not make it through the ingerlund game later.
Did you see the ground staff spraying the brown patches green in readiness for the game tonite, we got plenty of bullshit over here if only they would have asked, it would have been nice to have contributed to the world cup.

  164. rico says:

Chilling out now Micko, just watching Joel Campbell shine…!

    I haven’t been in a lift in years, maybe I should…. lol

  165. potter says:

Campbell seems to have an eye for goal is far in advance of Sanogo. Plays deeper than actually leading the line.
As for Johnson he’s not a full back he spends more time in front of his winger. Infact he often makes the winger look bad because he takes their space and leaves them nowhere to go.

  166. rico says:

Sunbathing Ts, never thought there was much point when it’s grey and cloudy…

Must be something I’m smoking instead… lol

  167. rico says:

Agree re Campbell potter but he seriously lacks pace from what I have seen.

Hi agag, I was kidding, honest. lol

    Just how old is Cavani?

  168. tsgh says:

    Lol Rico…
Potter,Johnson is just misunderstood.he wants to be Cafu…lol
Was he not a winger when he moved to Chelsea and Portsmouth?

  169. agirlagunner says:

rico, Campbell could work on his composure, that’s for sure. In any case, he’s made some good runs and got himself in some good positions. As for Cavani, whew. 😛

  170. Gunnerdna says:

England: Hart, Johnson, Jagielka, Cahill, Baines, Gerrard, Henderson, Welbeck, Sterling, Rooney, Sturridge

  171. Wath says:

    He’s looked very good………………

Get it…. that’s the cat amongst the pigeons…………

  172. Wath says:

Rico, he’s quick, composed and that left foot is a rocket…! His movement is good as well. Looks like Greece playing regular football has done him the world of good. Add the superstar striker and him and maybe we don’t need Remy…!

  173. rico says:

He hasn’t looked quick to me Wath, but maybe nothing looks quick when the eyes are ageing… 😉

  174. Wath says:

He’s not lightning Rico but the boy is def quick….!

I won’t even mention your eyesight and the bifocals…!

  175. rico says:

agag, I have no standards 😉

Quick is good enough Wath, play him alongside Giroud, he’ll look lightening quick… lol

    Slap!

  176. Wath says:

Where is Adam he will be creaming himself watching Campbell and thinking him and Umbongo will be mustard together…..

  177. potter says:

He’s bulky which doesn’t help in giving the impression of speed. But he runs from deep and once he gets going he looks hard to stop.

  178. Micko says:

Arsene probably see’s it from a different angle, 5 mill for the lad, tidy little profit for the board.

  179. Scott From Oz says:

    Morning guys.
Just woken up to see a uprising score line, and Campbell is doing well I hear.
I said when we signed him I’d seen him play a few times and he had a heap of potential, and his left foot is ALMOST up there with. Podolskis.
Let’s hope he has a Cracker of a WC.

  180. rico says:

    Micko, you old cynic… lol

What are you implying Gdna, AW is into German players these days… lol

  181. rico says:

Joe, not ignoring you, just focussing on our new striker….

Hi Scott, would love to see JC stuffing up the Italians, that game will tell us a lot…

  182. Scott From Oz says:

    That was a sensational pass.
Already reading everywhere how good he is….needs his chance….will be sold blah blah blah.
At the time, just another kid we wasted our money on lol
Damn we are a funny lot, we Gooners 🙂

  183. Scott From Oz says:

Rico, for sure…..the next two games will most definitely show us where his future lies, but what a start!!

  184. potter says:

Cahill and Jagielka will get run ragged against this lot. Uruguay playing long balls to Cavani will be up their street.

  185. rogerbij says:

Who wants a bet that we will have campbell and vela as our strike options with Giroud next season? Cheap n cheerful 🙂

  186. Gonerjoe says:

Scott he has to come back to Arsenal
Your right on campbell he only cost 1m some of the stuff written about Wenger and the club when we bought him.

  187. potter says:

Won’t be Vela we are trousering cash for him, Probably Giroud , Campbell and Remy. Send Sanogo to Olympiakos to replace Campbell.

  188. Sukky says:

Someone said to me here that campell is not better than gnanbry.Tonight, that comment backfired. What a great performance by Joel campell. This guy will survive at a striker in Epl and he can play on the wings too. That assist is ozilish.Come back to arsenal Joel!

  189. Scott From Oz says:

    Hiya Wath.
Greece have a tough league physically….could be what Sanogo needs, though I still like what I saw of him.
Campbell must get his crack now though.

  190. Gonerjoe says:

Just a thought but if the story about selling vela’s contract clauses for 9m this pay for Remy.

  191. rico says:

Sukky, why compare the two against each other, one is a striker, the other a midfielder.

    Hardly fair…

  192. Wath says:

One game don’t make a player but the lad def put himself about scored a good goal created and caused them big problems…!

  193. Scott From Oz says:

Wath, I’m not basing my opinion on one game though.
I said when we signed him he had plenty to offer, but was young and green at that time.
It’s been a while since I saw him play, and the improvement is immense.
He’s ready for his chance, I reckon.

  194. Wath says:

Wasn’t aimed at you Scott was a general comment mate including what I myself said about him.

When we bought him he was raw with talent now looks like the loans for a change have proved positive….!

Fingers crossed he is the real deal and not just had one good game BUT Ts will love it and say at least it seems he’s a big game player…!

Gdna, rumours mate and think we looking elsewhere…! ACON def a consideration.

  195. Wavy says:

Campbell as good as Remy? Or is he better? What a cracker of a game he has just had. Will he be given his chance with us next term or will Wenger spurn him and persist with the trouserless one? Or has Wenger just kept him up his sleeve?
Look forward to him coming on as sub in the 85th minute of games especially when we’re trailing and need goals from the 50th minute!
But I likeCampbell he looks like a player!

  196. Scott From Oz says:

Ginge loves his big gamers, but I guess in this case it’s a fair call.
WC and CL goals show some quality, and both finishes were brilliant.
I was actually more impressed with his ball to set up the last goal though…..brilliant.

  197. rico says:

If that’s the case agag, I’m surprised he was good… lol

Thanks Gdna, was he playing hide and seek….

  198. Joaquim Moreira says:

Campbell is a fantastic player. Quickly, good shot, the goal on his eyes, technical good, . Last goal, “born” for his left foot.
Remy ? maybe. Campbell can (or must…) play with someone.
i’m concern with the right bacl, the Gk and the midfield, Hopr Cazorla don’t leave.
    Waiting for england-Italy

  199. Wath says:

Gdna, Campbell said a few months back Arsene had told him that he will be back at Arsenal for next season…!

He has good awareness Scott and thats as important as banging the goals in. A very good all round game but we can’t get carried away on one or two good performances and we def need more than him up front this summer joining the forward line.

  200. rico says:

He certainly looked good tonight Jm but early days for me.

We are all waiting for England v Italy, just have to stay awake… 🙂

  201. Scott From Oz says:

Wath, no doubt we can’t rely on him…he needs week in, week put experience in the PL to prove himself there, so yes, we need more.

  202. Micko says:

A few of us said the same last season scott, thought he may have been brought back and eased into the first team, starting the league and fa cup games, he had a good game tonite, didn’t look over-awed in the CL either, will he be at the emirates next season, that’s another kettle of fish.

  203. Bt62 Gooner says:

Wath, i’m chuffed for Soup, all his hard work in Greece could be about to pay off, really chuffed!!

  204. bondex says:

hi all, I’ve missed a major part of the talk today.Campbel IMO has shown that he can be a very good addition to our squad but we still need a top top striker

  205. George says:

Joel Campbell will be sold 🙁

    We won’t buy vela

As you were , Walcott will compete with sanogoal go and poldi. Gnabry will be up against the ox for Rw. We will sign a rb prob French for a few quid and diaby will be like a new signing. We will also grab a goalie no ones hears of like rami shaaban..

The money is staying in the yanks bank account.

N arf miss Cuffley it’s well hot here in Dubai

    Miss you guys/gals

  206. Wath says:

Micko, A season on loan playing regular has done him 10 times more good than the odd game in the worthless cup and sitting on the bench eh…. Maybe we seriously need to look at our loan system as well as the injury situation… both seem flawed.

  207. Bt62 Gooner says:

Rico, waited all day to see Joel play and wasn’t disappointed.I think England may surprise people tonight.

  208. Scott From Oz says:

Micko, he’d have to be given a run, wouldn’t he?
Right now, I can’t see a way Wenger won’t be listening to the thoughts on comments of fans when deciding his transfer strategies.
He’s had enough stress of late 🙂

  209. Scott From Oz says:

    Wath, spot on.
I’ve said for a while young players should be sent to countries like , dare I say it, Australia….Greece in this case…where the kids are already technically good enough to compete, but will learn how to play against tough pros.
Surely that’s more beneficial to a 19 year old than playing youth football.

  210. George says:

He looked very strong wath , and like most here ge was v impressive against a slow heavy footed Uruguay.

I’d like to see him get a chance but our board are supertight. Ozil aside we don’t splash the cash required for that goal machine our rivals fear.

Chesea both manes and the scores have strikers the prem fear , we have bless his cotton socks girlie, who up until shagging about was decent but not fearsome

  211. potter says:

Precisely why I have argued for a full reserve league for some time. If players like Cesc and JW can play with men , so should all the others if they want to develop.

  212. Wath says:

George, well mate it’s early doors and if anything the cesc deal to the chavs makes it even more important for the club to buy well and buy big. Tons of time is the good thing and we know the positions we need.

  213. Wath says:

Totally agree Potter, many more will grow up quicker won’t have it so kushy and we’ll see if they up for it or not…!

Right off to the couch with GG to watch the next thrilling encounter… 4-1 England…!

  214. Wath says:

    Possibly Scott…….

As you say George, half the players go out don’t even get a game… what a waste.

Right offski… Stay awake Rico lol

  215. Micko says:

How do George, stuck out there in Dubai, we’d have to be made of stone not to shed a tear for ya, hope it’s going well.

wath, I guarantee he would have had a much bigger impact than our potential 20 million striker Sanogol !!!

  216. rico says:

    England players should be ashamed!!

They need a few singing lessons from our international ruby players!!

  217. George says:

Hi micko…Campbell looks to be streets ahead of sanogo

Sanogo reminds me of Christopher wreh a 4 goal a season striker who will be a cult figure before joining me in Dubai lol

Dubai is going well, beats the plight I went through in London

It’s a mad place…I play football with golden oldies …I played with ruel fox and john Barnes just this Tuesday gone …the Arabs here love a blast from the past

Staying up to watch another 0-0…..

  218. rico says:

All good thanks George, as I hope it is with you. Get you playing footie with Mr Barnes, must have been good fun….

I hope we can bash the too….

  219. Scott From Oz says:

    Very sharp.
This is what I liked about their squad….young and keen, with very few demons.

  220. Micko says:

Christopher Wreh, was he really related to George Weah, may have to get tsgh to look into that one !!
Good for you George, sounds a million miles away from the ole house removal days ! Enjoy the good times matey.

    Nite guys.

  221. rico says:

    Night Micko…

I’m off too folks, going to watch the game and probably snooze during parts….

    Night all, catch up tomorrow….

  222. Scott From Oz says:

Rico, I never seen what everyone else seems to in Baines.
Apart from a left foot, I don’t get it.

  223. potter says:

You can get past one Italian sometimes two, but don’t try 3 . Sterling . Get one on one and be dangerous.

  224. Scott From Oz says:

Great goal, and needed after going one down.
How is a player left 25 yards put unmarked though……the Italians goal was poor defensive work.

  225. Wath says:

Spot on Nash…. no cover for Baines what so ever….!
Lallana would be a better bet than Rooney on the left or Barkley thru the middle and put Welbeck on the left. We need to hit the spaces better and we’ll win this as they slow and square at the back…! More GG for me lol

  226. Scott From Oz says:

I’m not blaming him, just asking what people see in him.
    Him over Gibbs?
    Not in a million years.

  227. Scott From Oz says:

Baines was told up easily there, so I can blame him now 🙂
Your guys are right in this though.

  228. Nashua gunner says:

BUT, how many games did he played though?

When you travel on a long distance you don’t take your fancy car but the one that goes the distance.

  229. potter says:

Where was Ashley Cole when you needed him ? Baines is so negative never once tried to beat a man always went inside or back.

  230. Gunnerdna says:

Too much dribbling from the English players, Italy makes the ball do the work. Gibbs or Cashley would have been a better option at LB.

  231. Gunnerdna says:

Aurier cross the ball like a winger, he should have at least 4 assist instead of just 2, good player.

  232. goonster says:

Pirlo is the shit guys. Had he been brazillian or an argentine he would have been world footballer of the year a few times. What a player. Zizou is my favorite player of all time closely followed by Andrea pirlo. What a curl on that free kick. Had that gone in it ll definitely be there amongst the goals of the tournament.

  233. longmanandersen says:

Out of the two right back prospects in this game I’m very sold on Aurier. Thats not to say I’d be upset with us signing Uchida (well asides from the fact I’m also a Schalke fan) but Aurier has shown a lot more both offensively and defensively.

  234. George says:

Morning Scott, guess I missed something lol

I think Baines is a good player, but Gibbs has had a good season and should have been there. Like someone earlier had mentioned….the media picks the England team. Rooney the salad dodger was absolute garbage…

Sterling was impressive though. Looks like the ox will be in next game

  235. tsgh says:

    Good morning all,

Did Micko and Wath sabotage my wi-fi and Virgin TV last night?
I an’t believe I missed Gerv and Bony scoring against Japan…

I love the internet, all of a sudden J Campbell loving by folks who did not want him… lol

WAth, JC was the only Arsenal player able to score against Yanited… big game player indeed.

Hey George good to hear from you…

  236. tsgh says:

L.Baines and Rooney were horrendous. Both overhyped and picked on reputation, not form or whether they fit the side. Cole omission huge mistake

  237. tsgh says:

21 year old Joel Campbell already has 34 caps for Costa Rica, and has just netted his 10th goal. 7 assists for his country too

  238. tsgh says:

Quiz for Syg, explain to me why Gerv has scored more goals in the WC and continental cups than Wooney? lol

  239. Scott From Oz says:

    Morning all.
Campbell showed he is most definitely worth a chance, so that’s that.
Pirlo is very good, bit what the hell were the English midfield doing?
He had way too much space and time on the ball, and his job was made very, very easy.
England played well overall, but defended too deep, and invited Italy to attack them.

  240. Scott From Oz says:

Ginge, I know……..a mate on FB was demanding we get Campbell at the Emirates next season.
I merely replied “just what we need, another bloody kid” which was fitting as he said that 1000 times when we signed the guy.
Of course it went straight over his head lol.

  241. tsgh says:

Pirlo showing shows why AFC fans should pappreciate a player like MA08… not saying they are equal btw…

Balo’s technique is also very underrated…

Yes Balo’ has a reputation but as I mentioned a few weeks back he still played 33 games in Serie A last season and that was with a suspension as well…

    19 goals 14 yellows in 41 appearances. 7 assists…
