Now or never says Arsene Wenger. United as One….

Morning all.

As the corruption scandal continues to haunt FIFA, Arsene Wenger believes this is the best chance the organisation has to review the game. Not only how FIFA operate themselves, but football in general. Top of their list should be the international schedule:

We face a situation where it’s impossible for the players to get through a season and have rest.

This kind of friction that it creates between the clubs, national teams and international competitions can create a split.

One day the clubs could move away and say, ‘Enough is enough. We pay a huge amount of money for our best players so we’ll get them together ourselves and organise our own competitions.

It’s important that all of that gets on the table while we have the opportunity.

It is now or never.

Music to my ears!

In the main, this last break has been farcical imo. Ok, as said before there were a few World Cup 2018 qualifiers and Euro play-offs but surely, there has to be a better way to get those fixtures played without flogging every international player to death. I don’t know the answer but the people who get paid vast amounts of money to discuss and resolve issues such as this, should do.

Talking internationals..

Alexis played the entire match for Chile as expected and Petr Cech also played 90 minutes for the Cech Republic – both players suffered defeat.

The match between Belgium and Spain had already been cancelled and then just a couple of hours before Germany were due to take on Holland yesterday evening, fears of another terrorist attack resulted in that match being called off too.

France

In London meanwhile, France and England came together and showed unity against evil. The England fans were awesome, the French the same at such a difficult time. Emotions were on show, understandably, as many French players were captured with a tear in their eye.

The game didn’t matter, neither did the result, in fact nothing mattered really did it as far as sport goes other than how two countries came together as one through this great game.

france2

Two countries, two sets of players and two sets of fans, all united against one dreadful and brutal group of extremists…..

On a brighter note though, I don’t know how the English fans managed to sing the French National Anthem. I tried at home and couldn’t keep up but they did their best and that’s all what mattered.

Finally, the world of rugby has lost one of it’s true greats. Jonah Loma has been taken at just 40 years old having suffered a long-time battle with a kidney disease. He leaves behind his wife and two young sons..

RIP Big Fella…..

This old arguement about Internationals has been running for years. The World Cup is nothing more than a marketing man’s dream now.
I say put Paul Merson in charge of football. He’s a bright bloke.

Exactly, Rico, and Arsene would be a perfect choice to lead it.
One thing nobody can question is his love for the game.

Will it ever end?

Rico. You know what I mean though. Not a big fan of eating Turkeys myself.
Yes, that poor dog.
The PL sold out for a handful of roubles years ago. That worked out well didn’t it?
