Can Jack Wilshere come back for good this time?

Morning all.

A question on many Arsenal and England fans mind no doubt.

Can and will, Jack Wilshere come back from his latest, and what he says is his most difficult injury, and be stronger and fitter than before?

Talking to the Arsenal Player, he said:

It’s going well. I’m working as hard as I can to try to come back. I know what it takes because unfortunately I’ve been injured a few times in my career and I know what it takes to come back. I’m not going to rush it. I’ll make sure my body’s right and at the moment I’m feeling good.

Mentally this one has been the toughest to take because I had a big injury last year, came back, got myself fit, back in good form, played for England. Then I cut my holiday short for two weeks and came in to try to get myself right for this season.

I thought, ‘This season I need to be fit for the whole season and go into the Euros with a whole season behind me’. Unfortunately on the last day of pre-season I got injured so it was probably the toughest one for me to take.

We fans get frustrated when the same players suffer injury time and time again and Jack Wilshere isn’t the only one. Abou Diaby and RvP in the past and more recently, Tomas Rosicky, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but as much as we get frustrated, being injured so often must really cheese the players off, after all, all they want to do is play the game they love. As Jack alludes to in his interview, not only does he want a strong season for his club, he wants to be in France playing for his country at the Euros and England are missing him right now.

We often joke about RvP having one good season for Arsenal and by that I mean, one season where he was fully fit for most of it and scored goals, plenty of them and it would be really horrid and sad for Jack, if his career followed the same path.

He’s still young in footballing terms so he has a time on his side but the more he suffers, the harder it will be for him both physically and mentally. Jack has Tomas Rosicky and Danny Welbeck for company in the long term injured category:

We all know it’s difficult and just being around other people helps. At the moment it’s me, Danny and Tomas because we’re the only ones with long-term injuries. Just being around other people, speaking to them and having a bit of banter with them helps as well.

We’re still early in the season and the busiest part of the season is coming up. I want to be part of this team and I proved last season that I can get back and fight for a place. I know it’s not going to be easy but that’s what I want to do.

Fingers crossed this is his last serious injury and any others he might suffer, keeps him out for days or weeks rather than months, half or an entire season and he can have a great career at Arsenal which so many fans believe he deserves.

Finally, well done to ROI who last night secured their place at Euro 2016 in France with a 2-0 over Bosina and as England face France at Wembley tonight, I hope it’s a peaceful evening for all….

Have a good Tuesday guys and gals…

Morning all.

Reading between the lines of what Jack reportedly said, I get the impression that there is some doubt in his mind about ever playing again, at this level. Of course he is working his way back to fitness, our sort of fitness! But I suspect he has been warned that he should prepare for the worst, if he gets crocked again!
I hope I’m wrong but his tone seems very pessimistic.

May be the prevailing weather conditions here that’s colouring my view, grey and overcast, again!

lol Rico… Not complaining at all…; i would have thought a British company could afford to sponsor our national team…

Adam, Paul Scoles is the sort of guy who should be employed turning a spit on a mangal…

A ginger turd…

Rico I was listening to an interesting interview last evening, with Graham Hunter and Charlie Nicholas…
Charlie used to wear shin guards down his calves and ankles instead of his shins…
Could be an idea for Jack?

The way that Charlie was talking and considering that he’s a Jock and grew up a Celt, I got the feeling that he loves Arsenal even more than Celtic…

Graham Hunter was also quite a closet Arsenal fan, which did surprise me…

How’s it going Riz…?

Jack is a strong boy, very strong boy…and he’s a great player too. The day it dawns on him that he’s not made of steel instead of bones , then starts getting wise with challenges, that’ll be when his injuries woes will be over. And he’s a player whose potentials for greatness are not in doubt.

But if he comes back, continues with his reckless playing style, he won’t last up to three months to get back to treatment table.

Until we see Chile’s line-up tonight we may never know on Sanchez.

Rico. This stuff goes on all the time. When Jack comes back Hodgson will flog him to death. And Jack won’t change his style of play. With him the second touch is a tackle.

Hmmmm…I’m beginning to get worried how people believe our next five fixtures in the League are all easy wins. I hope Wenger and his players do not think like that or we go through a horrible patch!

Tai
Tai

It’s not just you Rico…it’s all over the place. In Wenger’s shoes I’d start any first choice as long as he is fit instead of resting him for international duties.

All PL fixtures are tricky though Rico. The mark of champions is that they can maintain their quality through a season, albeit with the occasional blip. For too long we have allowed other teams to drag us down to a lesser level. Hopefully that will be different this season although we dropped against Spurs and in the early CL games.

I didn’t expect you to get that either.

Squad depth again Rico.

Tai

What I meant is…I will always play any fit player in the League, no rests or deliberate rotation if we really want to win it…instead of resting players, only to get to internationals and are fielded in two high-intensity games in less than a week. Whoever gets injured gets injured…after all Wilshere got his long lay off in training.

Morning Rico,

I am beginning to think that Jack might have become perennially injury prone.

That might be because of the way he dribbles with the ball using only his left foot, or it might just be that it is in his genetics.

Moving away from the football aspect for a moment, if you drop a glass object it is sometimes possible to glue the pieces together, but if it happens again the next repair tends not to be so good, and eventually the object is not capable of being fixed anymore.

Jack is not a piece of glass, of course, but the number of similar injuries does beg the question as to whether or not his ankles are ever going to be up to the rigours of professional football.

Another 90 minutes for Sanchez then?! FFS. If he breaks…….

Re Wilshere: I have my doubts he’ll ever be a player that can be relied upon to be fit most of the season. Until he proves he can be, a replacement should be brought in.

That tackle was poor and inappropriate considering the occasion. Hardly entente cordiale. More straight out of the sewer known on maps as Tottenham High road.
