According to the Spanish radio station Onda Cero, both Manchester United and Arsenal have put in a bid for the young Atletico Madrid Goal Keeper David de Gea, they even suggest that both bids have been accepted and come the transfer window, battle will begin as to who will finally seal the deal.

The same radio station also suggest that Atletico Madrid still owe us money which could swing the deal our way. They owe us for Jose Antonio Reyes and Fran Merida.

The latter we know left us for free as his contract had expired but as he was under the age of 23,we are due to be paid compensation.

Personally, I can’t see there being much truth in this story, we already have Szczęsny who is only 20 and Fabianski who at 25 years old is still considered young in ‘goal keeping years’.

Arsene Wenger and the boys are showing support for Ladies this week as the defending champions get themselves ready to enter a new era in Womens Football.

The FA Women’s Super League kicks off tonight with a London derby between Chelsea and our Ladies at Tooting and Mitcham United FC. The WSL will receive live television coverage and the league schedule should all give the women’s game a higher profile between now and the season’s end in September.

“I hope it will increase the popularity of the women’s game,” said Jens Lehmann.

“The male Premier League is very dominant all over the world but, as I have experienced when visiting schools, half of the children [playing] are girls.

“I think there will be plenty of room to develop women’s football. A lot of girls are playing at the moment and it will get bigger and bigger.”

Kick Off is at 5.30 UK time. Good Luck to the Ladies…

Oh, thanks to The Daily Mail – pictures of our new kit for next season…

That’s it on a no real news day – have a good one and enjoy the Real Madrid game later…. 😉
