Keeper bid accepted? Ladies kick off, and a peep at next seasons kit ….

According to the Spanish radio station Onda Cero, both Manchester United and Arsenal have put in a bid for the young Atletico Madrid Goal Keeper David de Gea, they even suggest that both bids have been accepted and come the transfer window, battle will begin as to who will finally seal the deal.

The same radio station also suggest that Atletico Madrid still owe us money which could swing the deal our way. They owe us for Jose Antonio Reyes and Fran Merida.

The latter we know left us for free as his contract had expired but as he was under the age of 23,we are due to be paid compensation.

Personally, I can’t see there being much truth in this story, we already have Szczęsny who is only 20 and Fabianski who at 25 years old is still considered young in ‘goal keeping years’.

Arsene Wenger and the boys are showing support for Ladies this week as the defending champions get themselves ready to enter a new era in Womens Football.

The FA Women’s Super League kicks off tonight with a London derby between Chelsea and our Ladies at Tooting and Mitcham United FC. The WSL will receive live television coverage and the league schedule should all give the women’s game a higher profile between now and the season’s end in September.

“I hope it will increase the popularity of the women’s game,” said Jens Lehmann.

“The male Premier League is very dominant all over the world but, as I have experienced when visiting schools, half of the children [playing] are girls.

“I think there will be plenty of room to develop women’s football. A lot of girls are playing at the moment and it will get bigger and bigger.”

Kick Off is at 5.30 UK time. Good Luck to the Ladies…

Oh, thanks to The Daily Mail – pictures of our new kit for next season…

That’s it on a no real news day – have a good one and enjoy the Real Madrid game later…. 😉

Hi Will, I agree, we have enough but this keeper is meant to be something special, have seen him a couple of times and he’s very good – i suspect old red nose will get him…

VDS retiring and Kusack wants out of OT…

  2. rico says:

I can’t see any truth in it for us Will, he wouldn’t settle for second, he’s playing each week for AM, he’d be the Mancs no1 is suspect…

  3. Joaquim Moreira says:

He is a good Gk; not a very good GK.
Anyway, maybe now the second/third spanish gk. In a couple of years the first one.

  4. Am says:

He will be off to Old Trafford. He is the same age as Szczęsny and they both will battle it out to become the best premiership keeper over the next 10-15 years, it will be like the new seaman and schmical battle. Add in Joe Hart and there is three top keepers in the league.

  5. W.A.T.H says:

Morning JM, I agree he’s a good keeper but not great and we have a young keeper we do not need another one we need and older experienced keeper who can give us 2 good seasons while Chez still learns…!.

JM, would you buy Rolando or Cahill ?????

  6. allezkev says:

Good mid-morning Gooners. Hi Wath, where’s this list?
What do you think of the new kit? And what’s with the oak leaves around the crest…. Are we celebrating something next season? Could it be something to do with 1776, over to you Oliver?

  7. allezkev says:

Btw, what’s the point in spending millions on some Spanish goalkeeper [haven’t we had enough of Spanish g/k’s] when Szczesny is quite good enough?

  8. allezkev says:

Not a problem for me, my cats ‘do it’ in my neighbours gardens and over the fields at the back. I’ve got em well trained.

  9. rico says:

Sky Sports are reporting that The Big Russian is NOT going to sell his shares – an offer has been made by Stan, 197 million for the lot 😮

  10. rico says:

I think it’s interesting he won’t sell, is it because he wants to help Stan?

Is he waiting for them to be worth more?

Or, is he waiting for it to go wrong for Stan and then make a move….

  11. Will says:

he likes Squil so hhe will say we have TV, JD, Kos and Squill and Miquel coming up quickly and Bartley.

I would not hold my breath.

  12. rico says:

    This is funny:

Sky Sports are talking about the swampies game tonight, someone is at the club shop and all the things for sale with a ‘CL Logo’ are half price 😆

  13. rico says:

We’ll have to wait and see..

😆 Lee, he will for sure but i still think we need one more, hopefully Cahill…

  14. allezkev says:

Rico, i was really hoping that AFC would finally sign Cahill this summer, but with the price up around a ‘reported’ £20mill i’m beginning to worry that AW is losing interest.
    Hi Lee/Will

  15. allezkev says:

That, in essence, was what i was trying to say to HCAA yesterday, lets see how the new ‘boss’ handles things before we talk about ditching AW…

  16. allezkev says:

Rico, that would be a fantastic deal, if we could get Cahill using Vela as the carrot. Still think we’d have to shell out around £10mill+ CV to get him…

  17. W.A.T.H says:

Breaking News………….. TTB has officially just past Milton Keynes on his lowbed, Estimated time of arrival Ooop Norff is 11.50am Saturday 16th April.

Unconfirmed reports are that JJ has been spotted in Nicaragua…!

  18. rico says:

That’s the only way i see us getting him kev, i can’t see wenger playing vela, i think he is in the naughty corner for some reason.. i’m thinking more 5M + Vela and Denilson….

  19. rico says:

Will, it’s ok to get angry with the club but lets not have a dig at eachother, we are all better than that…

    Anyway, moving on very swiftly…..

  20. W.A.T.H says:

See Usmanov says he loves Arsenal and is not selling his shares…..! good news indeed that, keep a leash on what Stan can and can’t do…!

  21. allezkev says:

Wow, now unloading Denilson would be a dream, but do you think Coyle is that daft?
On a positive note, i did hear that Ryonaldo might get a work permit this summer after all.
No chance for Wellington unfortunately, or Galindo.

  22. rico says:

WATH, I like the fact that the russian isn’t selling too, i wonder why though other than keeping an eye on stan…..

give it a year or so, will he make a shock move?

  23. rico says:

    See you later kev…

Lee, i thought the same, how would he know what a good player is?? Saying that, would be good to steal him from under the chavs nose….

  24. W.A.T.H says:

I’m busy with it Lee 😉

Rico, won’t be a shock to see Usmanov offer to buy out SK in a yr or 2 in my opinion but the same would apply to him as well we still need someone there so he doesnt have sole ownership allowing him to do anything he wants…! I think they must try work together and make the “Brand” massive worldwide which would increase turnover and profits…!

  25. W.A.T.H says:

JM, you think Rolando physically strong enough for Arsenal and the prem league..? Transfer fee 20million or less..?

  26. allezkev says:

STOP PRESS: according to a BBC source, Vermaelen is due to play a ‘behind-closed-doors’ reserve friendly before end of season.

  27. W.A.T.H says:

I wonder if it’s not worth just letting him go on his summer hols now and have him back a few weeks b4 pre-season to get him 100% for next season…?

  28. allezkev says:

Wath, i think he’ll be flying next season. He probably can’t wait to get out on that Grove pitch again. May make the signing of another c/h redundent?

  29. Joaquim Moreira says:

Rolando is a international player, since the U-18.
    R. Carvalho, for instance, was physically strong enough for prem league?

  30. agirlagunner says:

Boo! Sooo quiet. rico, you’ve been really impressed by De Gea. I haven’t seen him play though. I shall look him up.

Hey, KT! Still off Arsenal or are your spirits somewhat recovered? Hola, WATH, what’s happened to your list? Hello, AK. How are you?

  31. W.A.T.H says:

So my question is JM, is he as good and as strong as Carvalho..? because Carvalho was good enough does not mean Rolando would be strong enough maybe he is different kind of defender, thats why I asked for your opinion as I have not seen Rolando play.

Greetings AGAG, the list is a work in progress….!

  32. Will says:

The only defender we need is one who can defend high balls and handle the KEvin Davies of this world.

  33. agirlagunner says:

Ça va bien, merci, Monsieur AK. 😉 Et vous?

WATH, you said a list, but yours seems to becoming more and more like a doctoral dissertaion. I did tell you, you’ll be writing for rico, soon. 😛

  34. agirlagunner says:

No parcels, AK. 😀 That can be remedied easily enough. But I am behaving. It won’t do to be worried about “credit card fraud”, when in truth, too many “Buy Now” buttons were pressed.

A cuppa vodka coming right up. 😉 I don’t stock tea, sorry.

  35. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG, listen here lady fax girl…… This list is a masterpiece…..! lol watch you moan like hell when you see it…!

  36. allezkev says:

Cheers agag, you’ll lead me astray with all this talk of GG….lol
Now, nobody has commented on the new kit. Do i deduce from that, a feeling of ‘couldn’t care less’..?

  37. allezkev says:

Wath, i’m off up to London tomorrow for a weeks work. Don’t leave me to fret over your list until the end of next week….

  38. W.A.T.H says:

AK, I reckon Bartley and Miguel need a season out on loan, why bring Bartley back to sit on the bench, a season with Bolton learning still and when the season finished we will know if he good enough for the first team and if not sell him…! Miguel needs to play so a loan will do him good as well, no messing a season long not a few months here and there…!

  39. W.A.T.H says:

The list is done AK, gotta wait til her ladyship is here though she wanted to be around when I put it on…! I’m off in a bit though for a few hours so latest I’ll put it on after watching the yids get smashed 😉

  40. allezkev says:

Wath, re:Scummers, that’ll be the highlight of the evening my friend, i shall look forward to your list matey…

  41. agirlagunner says:

Aha, WATH. You’re getting rid of Cesc, Clichy, and Robin. Not. Looking. Forward. To. It. 🙂

Oh no, AK. Trust men not to mind supplies until they’ve run out. Best you be stocking up, then, AK. 🙂

  42. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG, I’ll make sure you see the list 2moro don’t worry 😉 you take care, am off for a bit, see you after the footie…! lata…!

  43. allezkev says:

agag, i never run outta tea….. as for everything else, well i am a bloke, therefore helpless..lol
So now we know that Stan is as tight as the rest of them… God Bless America…

  44. rico says:

That’s what i was saying the other day Will, things change but everything will stay the same under Stan….

  45. Will says:

Said he has let his hockey team run down and now they get young kids and try to make them stars but that team is at the bottom of the league.

  46. agirlagunner says:

This takeover thingie sounds less and less promising, Will.

AK, I know. So helpless. 😀

It’s not on where I am, rico. 🙁

  47. allezkev says:

agag, i can never find anything, but always know where the teapot is….hehe.
You know, maybe all this ‘Stan tightness’ is either a ploy to calm expectations of a massive transfer splurg in the summer. Or an intention to calm the expectations of selling clubs?

  48. rico says:

Let’s not believe all we read just yet, he’s in so let’s see what in does in the transfer window.

  49. allezkev says:

Any of you going to watch the Dallas Cup youth competition? Arsenal playing Sun’, Mon’ & Weds…

  50. allezkev says:

Yeah Will/Rico, we have to see what happens this summer, just don’t expect too much. Better to be suprised rather than disappointed eh?

  51. agirlagunner says:

I thought last summer’s transfer window was looooong. The upcoming one looks set to top it. 😉

You’re flying, rico?? Cool. 🙂 You going, AK??

  52. rico says:

kev, we will get a few good un’s in…. 😉

I’m watching on the televisoin agag, not flying 😉 😉

  53. allezkev says:

agag, i’ll be in London driving, i’d love to be in Dallas watching the Arse Yth, but i’ve a huge gas bill and a large electric bill to pay. You see…helpless….hehe.
Rico i think it’s on ESPN, am i right.

  54. agirlagunner says:

Oh. Oops. But I’m sure you deserve the hols, rico. 😉

AK, oh bills, bills, bills. Gotta say I hate ’em!

  55. rico says:

Still 1-0 kev but hanging on a bit…. Should have been 2-0 but, the ball bobbled – good job wengers lot aren’t playing on this surface 😉

  56. allezkev says:

Agag, me to, and why oh why do they all come at the same time. I was just getting over the shock [!] of the electric bill when British Gas dug me out a couple of days later. All i ever say to my money is…goodbye… Have to put the kettle on!

  57. Stef says:

Hi HH I just watched the game congrats to the ladies for the nice win.
I really liked Chapman performance can we shift her to the boys 😀

  58. allezkev says:

Ahymore bills i may be driven to GG….
You gonna watch the Spuds’ demise tonight Rico?
I shall savour every moment and no doubt all their ‘chums’ in the media will be all knashing teeth tomorrow, let them knash.

  59. Stef says:

Hi Kev re hymn, the song that they play at the begining of each game.
I think schalke-inter will be interesting game so i am gonna try watch that game and switch occasionally to the spurs-madrid game.

  60. JonJon says:

we dont need this keeper..let manu have him
we have one of the best up and coming keepers in europe already if we need a keeper it has to be an experienced one..
but i dont think we’ll get one..ches has done enough to impress everyone..
im happy with him as number one next year..let fab and the don battle it out for number two..and use the money elsewhere..
or sell both fab and manny and get some experience in as number two..doesnt have to be world class but someone whos been there and done it at a top level consistently for years..not some spaniard whos played most of his career in the second tier of spain..

    evening peeps 😉

  61. allezkev says:

Beg ya pardon Stef, had volume down, listening to CD, don’t fancy listening to the ‘pundits’ yawn…

  62. Stef says:

Hi rico good win it’s my first game that I watch the Ladies, I am pleased with the win but I expected better play to be honest.

It’s all god just been off for while because I was angry to Arsenal performance and I didn’t want to share negative attitude on the web, we already have enough of that.

  63. JonJon says:

if bales croation and madrid are scottish..
bale gets a two match ban for that effort he just had in the box
what a dive..eboue eat your heart out 😉

  64. allezkev says:

JJ, just seen it on Arse.com, it’s as if he was hanging on, so as to settle his AFC business. Very sad mate…

  65. rico says:

Stef – i wouldn’t judge them on tonight, first game with all the press coverage, new lague etc and of course, a bobbly pitch 😉

They usually play a lot better than they did tonight, they keep the ball on the ground, short sharp passing and clinical finishing 🙂

  66. JonJon says:

AFC have just announced it in the last few minutes
    hi guys
what a dampener..although we knew it was coming i didnt expect its sudden timing..
we know understand why we sold a tad earlier than expected..danny was at the end..
    for all our baords faults
danny was the one who took us into the emirates and his illness has left the club rudderless the last few years, especially without dein..
    sad sad loss..
one of the few board members that actually did something for the club
god bless ya danny..thanks for everything mate..

  67. Joaquim Moreira says:

They play for be watching on TV…
I’m going to watch Schalke – Inter.
    Neywer and Eto play here.

  68. Stef says:

What a miss by Pavlichenko. 🙂

Rico that pitch was dreadful even AFC would’ve had problems playing, gonna watch more games and I do understand this is ladies so little to no aggression on the field, so the game is different.

  69. Stef says:

How things change in short time Stan bought most of the shares only Usmanov not willing to budge. And now Fiszman death, everything in a short period of time as if some1 pressed the fast forward button.

  70. rico says:

Stef – spot on, i guess DF was desperate to see his shares go where he wanted – he was a true arsenal man so maybe it’s time to trust in what DF has done….

so much in such a short space of time… surreal…

  71. Joaquim Moreira says:

We need to devote Sunday to win the Fizman.
W.A.T.C.H: Rolando replaces Carvalho in Porto who is much younger and was under-18 international. Rolando will be maybe one more year in Porto, but not surprised that you can come this year and is not for the WBA, Lorient or Frankfurt. The leave is for a great European: Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Bayern …
    Raul scored for Schalke

  72. Stef says:

Lee, who is SF? Do you mean DF?

Come on Ade! go Ade! The game is on, but I might fall asleep as well.

  73. allezkev says:

Yeah Rico, it has been a lot to take in. And ‘you’ said it was a ‘quiet’ news day…..
    Come on Ade…

  74. Joaquim Moreira says:

    I have forgotten …
Mourinho hasn’t a contract clause with Chelsea that he can not coach any English club over the next 10 years? (now 7 years)
We ned to devote sunday victory to Fizman.

  75. allezkev says:

Goodnight Stef, yeah, i am going to give it some serious thought….
See ya Lee, give those Spuds hell

  76. K-TR7 says:

We lost 4-3 to barca and the media gave us hell calling us shite.the spuds lose 5 nil with a ‘better attack’ but get the sympathy vote.i hope the spuds release a DVD as they won’t be hearing the CL tune for some time.lets hope our players are up for the NLD next week.

  77. W.A.T.H says:

Evening all, a very sad day for AFC, many won’t know or appreciate what DF did for our club, he was proper Arsenal, respect…..! We’ve lost one of ours, nothing else needs to be said tonight, fuck the yids lets spare a thought for Danny and his family tonight and lets all chat 2moro thats what he deserves, night all. R.I.P Danny Fizman an Arsenal man through and through.
