German Ace tipped for summer Arsenal move, Ramsey heading out.

Morning all.

Joachim Low is the favourite to replace Arsene Wenger in the summer according to this mornings headlines in the Mail. The same newspaper, along with others suggest Aaron Ramsey will be sold too as the club fear losing him for free next year. With the World Cup taking place between the 14th and the 15th July, if Low is heading our way, he’s not going to have much time with our players pre season. I doubt he’d need a holiday after the World Cup because for him, much of his season is a holiday. I jest a little because of course he’ll be working hard off the pitch to prepare for this summers big event but he’s not hands on with his players for seven days a week like a club manager is.

Would it matter that he’d not be at our club until late July with a new season kicking off just weeks later?

As for Ramsey, if managerial change really is going to take place which most of us hope will, perhaps he’ll think again about signing on. Especially if he believes change will make him a better player, the kind of player we all saw during his one great season. Same can be said about so many of our current crop imo. They’re not rubbish, far from it, they just need managing and coaching in a different way. A better way. A bit like Henry who at the time of leaving Arsenal, possibly thought he knew pretty much everything about how to play the game only to be coached by Pep Guardiola and find out he still had so much to learn and so many ways to improve.

Thierry summed up the Spaniards’ coaching methods quite simply:

‘It’s s like if I said to you, ‘Meet me in London’ and I don’t give you the address, just meet me in London. If you are clever, you might find me. But Pep gives you the GPS, the address, the car and everything.’

Granit Xhaka is still walking around London trying to find Arsene Wenger, but at least he’s got plentry of his teammates to keep him company in the big City.

Talking of Arsene, well he seems to continue to keep his head firmly in the sand.

This season is worse than last season because last season we won the cup and we made 75 points.’

“I don’t deny that, but we’ll analyse that at the end of the season. Don’t worry, I can live with reality. At the moment, we lost a cup final and we lost a big championship game.” I can live with it.

He might be able to live with it but we fans can’t, not anymore and our only hope is that the board and owner can’t either because only they can sort this mess out. When PHW says Wenger has outstayed his welcome, well, you know he has.

We play Brighton today and it’s on television if anyone is interested. I’m not, not really, but I’ll watch it anyway. That’s what we do isn’t it, because we love the club. Just detest the way it’s run….

Morning Rico and all. A nice post but the whole Low thing leaves me underwhelmed. He hasn’t managed at club level for a while etc etc.
I’d love us to get a street fighter like Simone or even Luis Enrique but it’s easy to pluck names out of the air when you don’t have to take responsibility for the choice.
This week seems to be the straw the broke the Camel’s back and there is a momentum for change that I doubt can be turned around now as one by one, Arsene’s mate’s suggest he should leave – while raking in a few quid from the media for saying so.
We are heading toward a new era at Arsenal, one way or another. That’s for sure.

Ouch! Wavy get that case off my toes!

Morning Rico. I wonder which Arsenal side will actually turn up today. I can’t not watch I’m afraid, but only from the comfort of my armchair. If they concede goals early on, I’m out. I can’t stand watching them, the slow slow build up, then nothing to show for it, only for the other team to hit them on the break.
I, until recently, thought all we needed was a DM and a good defender. Wrong, we need far more than that now.
Whilst all the talk is of Wenger going, the pressure is off the team, but they also need to share the responsibility and man up for every single game remaining.
Like someone said about Bould, they should all get their finger out and play like the overpaid professionals they are.

Adam bot Enrique brudder anyone but Enrique. Yes loew is not my first choice but i ‘ll rather him than the aforementioned. The managers we ‘re currently been linked to are all underwhelming bar jardim. I expect it all to be paper talk. We need a younger hungrier more dynamic manager. Don’t get me wrong now anyone is better than letosser but why not give the long suffering arsenal fans something to cheer about. Loew Enrique ancelloti are all meh managers. Let’s go hardcore get someone vibrant and ambitious. Morning Rico great post again. Can’t help but emphasize the “again ” ?

It is Adam but unlike a lot of arsenal fans u don’t think the game is up yet for Wenger. He ‘ll be managing arsenal come next season. When a man keeps insisting only he can decide when he leaves and will sew out his current deal then best believe that man knows something all of us don’t know. Ask yourself this if he was on his way out how come no succession plan is being planned as we speak. How the hell did we get to this?? Why does one man wield so much power??? Adam it’s 10 games to the end of the season and there are still uncertainty surrounding the future of our manager!!! Am sorry brudder but am not biting this time. The hook looks enticing and captivating but it’s all a ruse. He ‘ll be here till next season. Mark my words.

Stan. Surely the point is that nobody, save a few insiders, actually know what’s happening inside the club. If he stays then there’s going to be season-long problems. If he goes then we’ll see the owner and board in action. My feeling is that he will leave at season’s end but that’s all it is, a feeling.
After your predictions for the Cup Final I think I’ll stay with my gut on this one. 🙂

Think it will come down to the double header against Milan and whatever follows. If our league form continues to falter and we exit Europe then the game is up . Whether he goes immediately or at the end of the season is another question.

Think he beat John Landy ( Australian by a day or two ) but he will always have that milestone to his name RIP Roger Bannister.
Arsenal however , I don’t know what to think or say . Will have to see how things pan out today , If I was a betting man I would go for a 2 each draw.

One team is direct, gets a shot in. The other makes 10 passes going nowhere then loses ball. No Sanchez, no invention going forward. Pitiful so far. Great zonal marking at corners, we just let them get header in EVERY TIME .FFS.

Aub is on the shoulders of defenders in all the games he has played and not once did anyone attempted to pick a pass or tried a long ball for him to run. Wilshire slows down everything by taking multiple passes, Xhaka has forgotten how to pass forward and Ozil constantly passing with his back to goal and sideways. Say what u want to say about Elneny but at least he moves the ball quickly and can pick a pass. Try him with Aub and see the possibilities, an at least he tackles.
How does AW let this go on for 60 minutes without a substitution. Unbelievable.

Any other club would sack their manager, why don’t Arsenal?
Bould is a disgrace too. If he’s not allowed to coach, why is he there? He should be sacked too. No pride at all.
No one up off the bench shouting instructions to players, they sit there like the three wise monkeys; See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil. Utter shite.

We will be mullered by the teams left in it, even if we get through to the next round. Still it will make the boards decision easier.

I posted at the end of January that Arsenal had much worse than it was. I was not mistaken.
A midfield with Ozil-Iwoby-Michtarian-Whilshere is the total doom. From the beginning of the time he said that playing with Ozil and Iwoby was wrong the principle of a suicide; adding two more players is the total disaster. Defended badly (I think we conceded goals for 11 straight games, whatever team it is), especially because the midfield does not defend, it attacks badly (because we have several players doing the same thing), we do not go out to play (because defenses have difficulty doing so, midfield players are far away and mostly back to the game), the attack has no solutions (advanced low which makes aerial play unfeasible, there are no extremes except the sides that decompile back) and as always, is not finished, much slowness, football denounced and much seen. We did not lose only Sanchez who finished and played; we missed giroud, which was very useful to hold abola, to do tables and an added value in the aerial game; we lost Coquelin, who was not a great player, gave some security in midfield and was a “buffer”; we lost OX, which printed speed; we lost TW, which within quality, could extend and stretch the attack. The players we acquired, from my point of view, do not add anything to the team.

Hello Rico,
A rare contribution from a supporter abroad.
It’s all been said hasn’t it -“should’ve quit while he was ahead and won the cup”
Thereby he would have maintained his grand record and there probably would have been a great sending off party. Not so.
He reminds me of most of the great singers/entertainers of our times who, just keep on going, in spite of the fact that their voice no longer can reach those notes. SO SAD!
The Arsenal Board have to find a temporary replacement NOW and show him the back door (for now) because his enormous ego just blinds him to what he is doing to this fine club.

Goonster

Wavy it won’t be his last mate. Am still reiterate that he ‘ll still be here till next year. I watched his whole post game presser. He didn’t strike me as a man under any pressure. He won’t be sacked and they spineless board womt fire him. Heck he’s more likely to get a new deal than get fired. I may be in the minority here but the only way Wenger is leaving is when he’s done. He ‘ll leave on his own terms.

Obi

What a contrast, Conte won the league last season and his job is on the line. AW coaches Arsenal to a mid table team, and he’s as defiant as ever…… go figure.

Meerkat

I so hope you’re wrong Goonster. If he doesn’t do the decent thing, what is left of his legacy at the club, will be tarnished, and once that has happened it’s too late to redeem himself.

Losing to these today, was the ultimate in humiliation, not the score but the way we played. So predictable.
And there they sat on that bench, and all Wenger could rouse himself to do, was have a go at the 4th official.
M didn’t even do that, he just sat like a dummy.
Compare them to Pep, no there is no comparison. He treats every win as though they have just won a cup, and is very prominent a d vocal all through the match.
It’s so sad, the only light at the end of thhe tunnel is a frickin’ train coming.

Meerkat no it isn’t losing 1 nil to Sheffield United (or was it Wednesday) with Phil jagielka in goal was the worse result for me. They lost both keepers and had jag in goal for 20 fucking minutes yet we couldn’t muster a shot on target ma’am. Just one fucking shot!!! We kept passing the ball sideways till the final whistle. No other result trumps that for me. It was a total disgrace and fuck me that was almost 10 yesrs ago! He ‘ll be here till next year meerkat I ‘ll eat my hat if he leaves earlier.

Rico. I agree. He has forced the board’s hand now surely. The fact that he still thinks he is the answer to the problems that he has created should really set the alarm bells ringing. But I reckon an empty Emirates will speak even louder to the bunch hooray Henry’s who cling to Arsenal like leeches.
