Another setback for Bendtner, tops up for grabs again…

Back to the Premier League today and a nice tasty fixture against a side that are floating around the relegation places. I used to enjoy watching Fulham under Roy Hodgson but now under Mark Hughes they are just another side who I hope we tear apart and embarrass. No doubt they will arrive at The Emirates in the team bus, the same one they’ll park in front of our goal and try to hit us on the break.

Samir Nasri and Sebastien Squillaci have both recovered from their respective injuries so other than Thomas Vermaelen, Cesc Fabregas, Diaby, Almunia and Frimpong, we have no other players out. Fulham have a list of injured players themselves, one of course is our old boy Senderos.

Todays game is dedicated to Centrepoint and that’s the only charity we must talk about today. I know the old saying goes ‘Charity begins at Home’ but too many times this season we have gifted three points to our opponents in the league, today that must stop. We need to start making our home our castle and let no other side come to The Emirates a take points. For me it MUST begin today. If Partizan are watching, lets give them something to fear before Wednesday!

Fulham have won just two games this season under Hughes and his managerial career club looks as dodgy as it did when he was at Manchester City, I hope we make it worse for him too! You may have guessed, I’m not a fan of Mark Hughes, never have been, never will be!!

We’ve never lost to Fulham at home in the league (since 1914) and they haven’t won away from home since the opening day of last season when they beat Portsmouth. So on paper this game today should be a breeze but with us these days you never know which side will turn up.

Talking of which side will turn up, Nikki Bendtner can’t be too pleased with what his boss has had to say about the attack force at Arsenal.

We can play Chamakh and Van Persie together, we can play Chamakh up front and Van Persie behind.  What is interesting is that we can play all kinds of formations with the two. I am pleased because Van Persie is getting stronger every day. He had 70 minutes the other night against Wigan and I am confident that if we can get him injury-free in the next three weeks he will be back to his best level.

So it looks as if Wenger is focussing on Robin van Persie and Chamakh playing up front together Does that mean he’s ready to ditch the 4-3-3 formation, making us more direct. He has said before he wants to change the way we play at home, I hope that starts today. But where does that leave Nikki B?

What did make me laugh though, Wenger was asked if he thought van Persie was injury prone, his reply was ‘No’. Strange one that!

December is a big month, a lot of sides in the top five or six play each other, we face Manchester United and Chelsea, the Mancs fixture is next weekend at Old Trafford and the Chavs come to The Emirates on Boxing Day. Win those and we’ll be going into the New Year in a really strong position.

For today though lets whip the hides of Fulham, go top of the league and help Mark Hughes get the same Christmas present he got last year, his P45!

Thank God you are not mentioning the England debacle!
The rest of the arsenal sites are totally getting on my nerves!
How does it affect arsenal if world cup is held in England or not???
Kudos to you…

Morning rico.

I remember that game in 1914.I had to take three different trams and it cost me an old penny (including programme) to get in.

Unfortunately there is a small blip in your post.We have never lost to Fulham at home 😉

I am glad you pointed out the charity donation.Wouldn’t it be nice if the media for once pointed out the good things a proprtion of the footballers do.

My inside info is that Nasri will be marked by three players (ric knows what I mean)

Last word on the WC draw.We sent the wrong representatives, forget bribery or corruption.

Now if we had sent Katie Price and Cheryl Cole it would have been a done deal 😉

It’s chaos here. The traffic controllers staged a walk out without warning and people are stranded and add that to the weather conditions in the UK,it’s not funny.

You know what would really please me today is to see the old Mozart actually score by rifling in a shot, which has been sadly missing in his game.i used to marvel at his shooting.
No prediction from me,but i reckon we will win by the odd goal.

morning all

@Kelsey, Cheryl Cole is a good choice but Katie Price is a no no. I would select Sienna Miller and Kelly Brook 😀
1914 really 😮

I mustn’t be abusive but katie price could take the whole committee on and literally s*** them into submission or death 🙂

Come on goonners!!!! but step by step… we must thing a match once by once, today Fulham, then Partizan and so on…:-)
Bentner is the only player who can replace Chamack in is right position. VP is a different player. Rshavin, vela, etc the same.
So, I’m waiting for the broadcasting at 3.pm. In Portugal, they broadcast Arsenal and Chelsea at the same time.
Best wishes!

Against Villa Mozart had great chance to score but made a mess of it am hoping to see more of him but if RVP start Mozart seems as the one to make way

I wonder what your views are for Bendy to be used in defence as apposed to attack,he is not my favorite striker but his tall and difficult and heads the ball more than some others,i allways see a striker with a bit of speed but Bendy’s a carthorse, but i believe he may fill a hole up at the back, whether his ego could handle it is another thing

Defensively we were allover the place yet Sagna and clichy put some decent crosses in.Theo continues to disappoints and Song was ah well Song (bad hair day)

Arshavin was great in the beginning, but faded as the game wore on. Chamakh really should’ve scored, he got some good feeds. Nasri saves the day!! And in what fashion!

The second goal was top class.
1 more DM in January please mister Wenger.

kelsey

Both goals were sheer class,as AW just said, you can’t teach that. I said earlier today that Nasri was the man Fulham feared, and he will get better and better.Just heard he was voted french player of the year.
Defence is another matter.
Technically the ref should have stopped the game with the clash of heads, but goals change games and didn’t it show it.
Everyone is dropping unexpected points but we MUST buy a a no nonsense central defender in January.

He’s Player of the Season, so far, Sami. He really has benefited from a football-free summer. And the chavs dropped points. this is hping up to be quite a fantastic weekend. 🙂

rico, as a true Cesc girl, I feel it my bounden duty to say we still need Cesc. Haha. But a fit one, otherwise it’s pointless. 🙂

We need players to step up in Cescy’s absence, and Nasri’s well and truly emerged from his long shadow. And long may Sami’s fantastic form continue 🙂
