£4.8M 'New Signing' to play in November?

Well, you just know Arsene Wenger will say it don’t you… Aaron Ramsey, who cost us £4.8 million in 2008, will be like a new signing when he returns!

Ramsey has just been named Wales Young Player of the Year at an awards ceremony in Cardiff, despite not playing for long long time, this lad is so good that no-one could pip him to his prize. Well done Aaron!

Talking of which, Ramsey is due to return next month which is great news for him and for all Arsenal fans.

As soon as I wrote his name my mind drifts back to that horrid game, his last game and funny enough it was at the Britannia Stadium, home ground of Tony Pulis’s Stoke City. Prior to that game, Ramsey had finally made the breakthrough into the first team, he had proved he had what it takes. The match that sticks out was against Wolves. The first half he struggled alongside Abou Diaby but injury saw the Frenchman substituted for Alex Song. It was then he settled and looked so at home in midfield and we went on to win the game with ease.

He’s scored a few goals, one in particular was a corker against Portsmouth, we were already 2-0 up when Ramsey picked the ball up in midfield, dodged a tackle, then unleashed a beauty from the edge of the penalty area! Yes, the edge of the penalty area, boy I wish a few more of our players would take a chance from that range!

During all of this, Ramsey had also made his mark on the International scene for Wales.

In December 2009, Ramsey scored his second goal for us in the home fixture against Stoke, little did he know then that the next time he faced the same opposition he would fall victim of a horror tackle that many no doubt, feared would end his career, a career that had really only just begun!!

But fall victim he did to a dreadful tackle from Ryan Shawcross… Here it is!!

I know its horrid viewing but something in football needs to change. The only way is to make the FA realise that this kind of tackle will not ever be forgotten and they need to take action. This kind of tackle cannot and should not ever be accepted in football!!

On to a brighter note, Ramsey is back in training and could be making his return next month which is great news. He’ll need time but what I am sure we all hope is that his head and body has recovered well enough to enable his career to carry on from where it left off.

Add him to Fabregas, Walcott, Vermaelen and van Persie who are due to soon return, we should get our season back on track and back to winning ways!!

Oh those days 🙂

Morning Stef, I don’t think we will see him playing too much until the new year, gentle intro back into the game and steady progress…

Just hope he is ‘mentally’ up for his return, we all saw what happened with Eduardo…

  2. rico says:

gg, we don’t know that, he is young and this could make him stronger… I think what finished Eduardo off with us was the Celtic game, that was horrid for him.

There is no reason why he shouldn’t make a full recovery..

  3. W.A.T.H says:

GG, I think Aaron is far stronger mentally that Eduardo and the important factor is Aaron never actually saw his leg hanging off like Eduardo did…! those mental scars will be with Eduardo for ever. I think Aaron will be fine…!

  4. agirlagunner says:

Boo! rico, I am excited beyond belief about Rambo returning. 🙂 🙂 Some good news, at last. He’s young, and will be back good as new.

And rico, you forgot to add Bendy to the list of players coming back from injury. You tend to forget him, don’t you? 😉

  5. rico says:

Nikki agag, I did forget him, a slip i can assure you 😉 not that he fills me with great confidence. Saying that though, I would like to see how he and Chamakh could do up front together.

  6. rico says:

You all seen the pictures/story about Joe Hart and Gareth Barry out partying the night before the England game…. What is it with these English players….

  7. W.A.T.H says:

Morning Rico, Adios almunia sounds rather good to me…….

Please will you shut up about no injuries your bound to put the mockers on them now…!

  8. agirlagunner says:

WATH, that’s okay, I entertain mean thoughts about Almunia pretty much all the time. 😉 His “Adios”, will be the sweetest goodbye ever.

rico, I think Nik will improve; Chamakh should be enough challenge; and I hope they partner well. It’s Robin I really want to see again. Seems aaaages ago when we last did.

  9. rico says:

    WATH 🙁 was only answering a question…. 😉

I’ve been hoping that for many a season now agag but he doesn’t – i think he’s a bit up himself, i blame it on his better half 😉

  10. Rosicky7 says:

Chamakh left thr field yesterday early with head injury also Sanga did not play for france anckle injury,This is not good news for us.

  11. rico says:

It’s really sad to read all these stories about the dippers and how they could be off into administration…

    :P:

  12. agirlagunner says:

But rico, Nik’s funny. If only for entertainment value, he’s worth keeping. 😛 And he banged in some important ones for us last season when RvP was injured (is Robin ever NOT injured??? It seems we talk about his absence more thatn his games.)

The doodoo that the Dippers are in makes me sad, too (as if)… I really still like their No. 9 even if he’s not been in form.

  13. rico says:

I think the club need to soon face facts with RVP agag, he is not to be relied on, he’s a luxury player now. You are right, we only seem to mention RVP when wondering when he’s back or when he’s due his next injury… 🙁

If the dippers lose in court this week, i can see the likes of Torres, Babel and Reina up for sale… mme, all three would do me…

  14. W.A.T.H says:

Rico that sea air is sending you doo-lally…………

I’ll take Torres for sure but def not Babel, Reina oh go on then 😀

If Torres signed AGAG would be drooling all day long………

  15. agirlagunner says:

Shame, RvP is never fit long enough to be one of our reliables.

Just Torres will do me though. Babel’s a diver; and Reina dives but doesn’t catch the ball. 🙂 🙂

  16. agirlagunner says:

Oh you know me so well, WATH. But drooling is so ewwww. 😕

I think I’ll be all sighs and daydreams though if we bought Torres. 😳

  17. rico says:

I don’t think we could take a risk on RVP and Torres, maybe together they may get through a whole season, as long as they alternate injuries 🙂

  18. agirlagunner says:

How amazing would we be with both, rico? They should schedule their injuries though, I agree. 🙂 🙂 That’s a sweet, sweet thought. (dreamy smile)

  19. rico says:

Torres would be an awesome signing agag, just the kind of 30 goals a season striker we need. I think he just really unhappy at the Dippers and thats why he gets injured and off form….

  20. rico says:

    Hi Erick, how’s you??

Sagna injured apparently Erick and Chamakh picked up a head injury.. Clichy always seems to have an average game these days…

  21. Red Arse says:

    Hi Rico, and Everybody.

A nice positive read on a Sunday morning. 🙂

I think things will look up even more as the season progresses. In January Wellington will complete his signing for us and he could be a superdooper surprise package to unleash towards the end of the season.

  22. Erick says:

RA howdy mate I was to Email you mate but work has been hectic hope all is well and this season we will be going up only Come on Arsenal

  23. rico says:

For sure I have Erick 🙂 Not good to hear you are so busy though…

Hi RA, it’s a bit of a fun headline but we know wenger will speak the words 😉

Looking forward to Wellington playing, he could be the ‘AA’ kind of lift towards the run in. we just need to get back on track and not slip too far behind… Could do with the chavs losing a few games now…

  24. Erick says:

Agag he did do well going forward but Romania used his side to create chance is Diaby with the french squad he didn’t play

  25. agirlagunner says:

Enjoy your trip to the coast, rico!! How fantastic that you get to do it every day.

Erick, when can you go on hols? You know what they say, all work and no play…

  26. Erick says:

Agag Diaby is in the official site with France and wilshere will be joining the senior side they are exhausting this kid

  27. agirlagunner says:

Erick, that sounds excellent. 🙂 If we don’t reward ourselves, who will? That’s why I reward myself all the time. Haha. Might I ask where you are off to??

I didn’t think Diaby was fit. Well, France shouldn’t play him. I’m tired of our players getting injured on international duty.

  28. Erick says:

Its a place called Mombasa off the Indian ocean its realy cool but very hot Agag just google it you will love it

  29. agirlagunner says:

I know where that is, Erick. A bag was even named after it five six seven years ago. 🙂 The photos look very pretty, indeed.

  30. Dan says:

I think players who cause injuries to others should be banned for the same amount of time that the player they injured it out, if it ruins their victims career why should it not ruin their’s?.

  31. ANELKA says:

Seeing that video again makes me angry! At first glance it looks like an accidental tackle, but after reviewing it a few times, it is very clear that Shawcross had more than enough time to try and pull out of the tackle and he didn’t. More must be done to protect the players, these injuries are happening far too often.

    More must be done!

  32. W.A.T.H says:

Totally agree Dan………. being saying that for years as well as the pathetic rule of the player who receives treatment for a foul from the physio who has to go off yet the player who kicked him stays on…? how ridiculous is that..?

  33. W.A.T.H says:

Spot on Anelka, awful tackle and amazing how that scummy pig has been giving it the big un for ages about being an honest player and not dirty, funny how the guilty ones are always pleading their innocence…!

  34. rico says:

I’m really naffed off about Wilshere being used by both England sides, we should have stopped this, wenger and the rest need to grow some!!

  35. guy says:

i will forever love sol campbell for his reaction to this tackle. he looked like he wanted to kill everyone, and ricardo fuller aint a small lad. but boy did he poo himself when sol went off

  36. W.A.T.H says:

What can AW do Rico, it;s up to Jack to actually say excuse me i am not a robot pick me for one team or the other as I aslo need a break…! pathetic the way they are trying to kill the kid, typical English FA bullshit…! Pearce is a total knob as well.

  37. Red Arse says:

    Hi again, everyone. 🙂

The way that Fergie Blue Nose does it is he tells the player he has a groin strain, and oh dear he can’t play for his country.

Look at how Giggs and Scholes dropped out of one in two games.

  38. W.A.T.H says:

U start playing those “injury” games you leave urself open for a 5 day ban from the player playing if they think it’s dodgy…! You know for a fact we’d get jumped on from a dizzy height…! so 2 answer ur question Rico no we as a club can do sweet FA has to come from the player…!

  39. W.A.T.H says:

KT think we have both said Clichy is on a downward spiral that isn’t stopping and Gibbs will be 1st choice by Xmas big time…

  40. W.A.T.H says:

Ok let me depart a while I’m going to make sure it snows in an hour am lighting a fire to do a bbq…. apologies to all enjoying the good weather it’s about to stop lol 😀

  41. Red Arse says:

How about a little ankle/willie/ear strain, can’t play Friday but I’ll be fine next Tuesday, once the lady I met in the night club fixes my ankle, willie or ear strain!

    Seemples! 🙂

  42. rico says:

WATH, guess Jack just wants to play for his country, i would have been the same…..

Hi KT – Clichy is going tough time, I won’t be surprised if he is soon a gonner…

  43. K-TR7 says:

AA has got to be the laziest footy genius.he is the second most effective attacker in the CL after eto’o.he has scored/assisted in every 36 minutes…he also creates 3.33 chances a game in the league which is the highest.

  44. rico says:

Agree re Nasri KT, it’s almost like he suddenly feels at home and settled in th PL…. Took his time though 😉

  45. K-TR7 says:

Rico nasri is certainly the business this time.i also hope jack stays grounded and he isn’t worn out by the time he is in his early 20’s.

  46. W.A.T.H says:

KT the way the English footie management treating Jack he’ll be worn out by Christmas. . . . .

Pires took ages to settle so do many others, Nasri showed signs last season but now looks the real deal..!

  47. rico says:

Its hard to believe that Pires struggled, especially the way he ended up playing…. but struggle he did and if Nasri does the same then we’ll all be happy 🙂

  48. W.A.T.H says:

Nasri has the skill Rico and now he looks as if he happy settled and enjoying himself…! I’d be happy for the ten goals n ten assists a season 😉

  49. rico says:

You don’t want much WATH 😉 I think he will do better than that though, he’s our new penalty taker and the way we keep getting them he could end up our highest goal scorer 😉 (ok, i know cesc is really our pen boy)

  50. W.A.T.H says:

Ok i’ll bow 2 ur superior knowledge and I’m happy u think he’ll score more and make more assists…!
    😉

  51. rico says:

I live in hope WATH 😉 He certainly seems to have got better a darn sight quicker than his fellow frenchman….. 😉

  52. rico says:

I’m off for the days guys/gals….

Stay safe and catch up tomorrow…

WATH, you behave and no snow tomorrow 😉

    Nighty night 🙂

  53. gazzap says:

Eduardo lost 2 yards of pace. I really hope Ramsey doesn’t lose any pace beacuse if he does it could seriously harm his chances at the top. I have everything crossed for the lad.

  54. W.A.T.H says:

gazzap, think Eduardo also lost his bottle and after what happened to him who can blame him, just have a feeling Aaron will come back strong as ever and will be the player we think he’s gonna be, Aaron, Jack, Cesc, Nasri and Song in midfield is pretty decent in my book…!

  55. charlie says:

I think Ramsey will only featute next season. Even then, it may take him another year to get back to his previous form. Such is the cruelty of such injury and the irony that the culprit is still playing and TALKING SHIT.

  56. W.A.T.H says:

I think you’ll be surprised charlie, Aaron will be playing by the end of this year and I’m sure will be as good as ever.
