Morning all.

I don’t know if any of you realise but our FA Cup triumph was our first trophy for nine years! Honest, it’s true!

During that same period of time, our ladies team were flying high and winning most of what was on offer and here’s a list of their achievements during those nine years:

UEFA Women’s Champions LeagueΒ Champions –Β 2006–07

WSL: Β 2011 and 2012

FA Women’s Premier League National Division: 2005–06, 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09 and 2009–10

FA Women’s Cup: Β 2005–06, 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09, 2010–11 and 2012-13

FA WSL Continental Cup: Β 2011, 2012 and 2013

FA Women’s Premier League Cup: 2006–07 and 2008–09

FA Women’s Community Shield: Β 2006, 2007 and 2008

London County FA Women’s Cup: Β 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09, 2009–10 and 2010–11.

That’s it.

Phenomenal achievement!

Since our 2005 FA Cup win against Man Utd, the ladies have picked up a staggering 27 trophies!

Vik Akers, who founded the team way back in 1987, won a staggering 33 major trophies including theΒ quadruple in 2007Β but after 22 years in charge, he stood down in 2009.

Laura Harvey took over from Vik Akers and the success continued with further trophies secured Β but in 2012, she packed her bags and went off to America to manageΒ Seattle Reign FC.

Next in place was Shelley Kerr and all seemed to be going wrong as we lost a few players to Chelsea. Two games into this seasons WSL, they have managed just one point and were beaten at home by Reading, something which didn’t used to happen.

They are still in the FA Cup having beaten Chelsea in the semi-final and now face Everton onΒ Sunday, June 1st in the final. Good luck to them.

The mens season maybe over but the womens has just begun and I truly hope they start to find winning ways and get right back up the table.

GetΒ the men and ladies on track together and share some wonderful times ahead as one….

And the Academy of course, that needs a huge shake up as we need to start seeing a few younger players progress into the first team.

One who won’t be around at Arsenal any more is Chuks Aneke. He is one of many who have been told by the club that they are free to leave.Β I’m quite saddened by his departure, especially as just a few summers ago he turned down a move to Barcelona in favour of staying with the club he loves. That club has now turned their back on him.

This is one player I hope we have a chance to bring back home one day because I think Arsene Wenger, or whoever made this stupid decision has missed a trick with Chuks…..

Still, we have Abou Diaby eh!! What a joke!

Here’s a list of who will definitely be departing for free this summer:

Free transfers

Aneke Chukwuemeka Ademola Amachi
Ansah Zak Andy
Bendtner Nicklas
Boateng Daniel
Fagan Zachari Freddy Casey
Park Chu Young
Siemann Leander

Both Bacary Sagna and Lukasz Fabianski are free to leave too but the club are no doubt hoping they will sign the contracts offered to them, but I doubt either will.

I also suspect that even though many other fringe players have been retained at this stage, they will be sold before the new season begins.Β

That’s it for today…..
