Wenger's biggest hint yet and don't bother ringing him, his phone will be engaged…..

Seems like our boss has been talking to a French radio station about the current transfer window….

Currently, everyone is standing still, Everyone expects everyone else to make the first move. Everyone holds on to their cards, hoping for the major transfer. Nobody blinks until late July, early August. Then we will analyse the gaps in each team.

But I am very active on the phone.

If everyone is standing still waiting for everyone else to make their move, isn’t that the best time to sneak and a buy your players? Surely a manager like Wenger has his targets, does it really matter what everyone else is up to??

The simple answer is No!

Wenger has also reportedly spoken about the future of the three that are linked with moves away from the club and I think he gives  a huge clue as to what will happen.

First he spoke about Samir Nasri:

We will do everything to keep Nasri at the club. My wish is that he stays here. If he looks back he can see that he’s come quite a long way with us, and I think there is still a bit to do. It’s the club that makes the player’s career.

Then when asked about Cesc Fabregas and Gael Clichy he said this:

Obviously we want them to stay. They are part of Arsenal and big players for the club so we want them to stay, but we will see.

I personally think that tells us a lot, the club will do everything to keep Nasri, but the other two, we’ll wait and see…

What could happen of course is that should Fabregas leave, the club will then up Nasri’s wages and everyone will be happy and the new contract will be signed.

The squad get back together this coming week so I think we can expect things to start moving fast….

Until then, we’ll just have to carry on reading the garbage that fills the newspapers each day, most of which is pure fabrication…

This morning’s papers see Arsenal in a £20 Million link to Stewart Downing which made me chuckle and a Chav link to Theo Walcott that made me spill my tea as it’s so far-fetched and Inter Milan have offered a higher price for Ricky so we are set to lose out unless Wenger goes back with a better offer…

You couldn’t make it up could you, well actually, they have, I’m sure..

Have a good day all…..

    Morning guys.

As I gave said before, since we challenged Fleet Streets darlings, the media have a hard on for us and every year we read about the mass exodus from our club.

    Annoying and tedious.

  2. arsenal fan says:

    Good post
hope we get a signing or two,
its the same as all times wenger will still be bargaining as always…..

  3. JohanOtbaG says:

Isn’t the quote about Cesc and Clichy from Jack Wilshere? He said exactly that thing a couple of days ago..

  4. arsenal fan says:

Fabregas will leave–that could be a problem
Clichy will leave–dont care if he stays or goes
    Nasri–will stay i think

  5. Arse&Nose© says:

after the whole nasri saga would you be able to forgive and forget if he stays? I think its a PR disaster and he is fast becoming the new Adebayour

  6. arsenal fan says:

who do you think can wenger will replace clichy with?
    1.fabio contrao
    2.jose enrique
    3.leighton baines
    4.jenkinson

  7. rico says:

    A&N

Nasri has said his career is about winning trophies according to SS’s – not about money, anyone think he is waiting to see who AW signes before comitting himself…

Will, yep, same old tabloid stuff made up as they go along…

AF, I think he will stay too but Cesc and Clich out…

  8. Adam says:

Arsene Wenger, the steely-eyed poker player looking above his cards into the eyes of his opposing managers. He waits to make his play. He Cunningly judges what hands his opponents are holding. He sees them dip into their pots of gold and smiles ruefully. Then, just as it seems the game is lost he makes a move which staggers his adversaries. With just seconds to go, he signs Squilacci. Game over.

  9. rico says:

af – the cheapest option knowing wenger…..

But, I don’t think Gibbs is ready to be relied on, he’s too fragile and not yet shown he has what it takes…

    Jenkinson is right sided..

Maybe TV will be moved accross and we get Cahill and Samba (or similar)

  10. Danish Gooner says:

Wenger is derelict of duty. How the hell can he keep sitting on his hands after that disasterous season we just had.The only reason is that he cares more about the money then actually achieving anything.

  11. rico says:

DG, I never know why though, it’s not his….

jonny, i have heard/read that link before but has gone quiet about him recently

  12. Will says:

Let’s give it a week or two guys.

Remember who we are, we are The Arsenal, the only club great enough to have The before their name. We are not the Chavs, buying history and we are not the fickle spuds.

    We are THE ARSENAL.

  13. big ernie says:

Yea right …… Owd red nose knew the pwayers he wanted and has gone out and got them….. no mucking about, no will you accept 50p less for them ….. that’s who I want, that’s who I’ve got ! ….. This is more to do with Scroge Wenger looking into his purse and not stumping up ….. until some of the control is taken from him, we will get no one of any worth, why do you think all out best players want to leave ? cause they know he will try and buy in poundland or from the bargain bucket ….. the one’s we already have from those areas who have proved to be a liability and he can’t offload them cause everyone can see their worth ……. Please stop all the cr@p and just buy some quality …. this is the one and only time that I am going to say this, but we could do a lot worse than follow United’s example !!

  14. rico says:

    Will,

If we all sit patient for two weeks, what are we going to talk about?? I may as well shut HH and go off on holiday for two weeks 😉

  15. rico says:

big ernie, i’m with you on that one, it’s not rocket science and surely wenger knows who he wants, just go and offer the right price and get them in….

the chavs and citeh won’t hang around next week, i bet… Nor Arry and Kenny…

  16. Will says:

I am dismayed with the anger and in fighting on here and elsewhere on Arsenal-land. Just remember who we are.

  17. arsenal fan says:

we wanted benzema, hazard, cahill and im sure we get their replacements as gervinho ,alvarez ,samba

  18. juan says:

Nice positive outlook there but lets be honest here. Nasri has let his own contract run down, hes gone. Clichy is gone, cesc is gone. Before making any signings that is a massive blow to a team that desperately needs adding to. If three above go unless some big big names come in you cant blame RVP and co for looking at their own situations. Wengers stubborness in the transfer market along with his unwillingness to make his team grind out results when needed is catching up on him. Hes got to realise that english game has moved on and this notion of building this perfect team that plays perfect football while not spending big money is a failed ideology

  19. rico says:

    Will,

What can you honestly expect, we are The Arsenal, and we should be a lot more pro-active than we are being, we are a huge club, behaiving like minnows right now….

  20. rico says:

Morning Kt, it’s down to the player now i think and whether Wenger goes back witha better offer but it shows what we are like doesn’t it…

If it’s all true of course….

  21. rico says:

I don’t think so Wiil, not one bit – throughout the season you really gave our side and wenger a hiding when we couldn’t score, couldn’t perform, couldn’t defend etc, don’t you want all that sorted out before we start pre season?

  22. K-TR7 says:

I told you guys that if inter were interested he would join them.Wenger dallied again and we have lost out.if he goes on to be a legend at inter Wenger will tell us how close we were to signing him.Wenger out.

  23. Will says:

When we were playing yes but I never wanted Wenger out. I want another DD in charge who makes Wenger take risks.

  24. goonerstan says:

If we lose out on Alvarez then that says a lot about the ambition of this club. When we can’t even sign a relatively unknown so how the hell are we gonna sign the class players we all are crying for…..morning all. Thanks for standing me up the other day Rico. Am so mad at you.

  25. rico says:

I wasn’t suggesting you ever wanted him out, i’m talking about transfers Will… and how he is being in the market…

  26. K-TR7 says:

Rico we need to accept Alvarez will join inter.we were penny pinching and that alerted inter who have nabbed him under our noses.inter have reportedly offered him £100k a week and am sure in addition to offering more cash for the transfer there is no chance he’ll join us.

  27. Xristos Sfetsios says:

Bye Bye the whole squad.. stupid media… RVP also on the way out .. Theo on the way out..
Next thing… the stupid parrots behinds their desks at these corner news agents are gona write that the Emirates pitch wants outs and has asked for a transfer to fulham because 60 000 seats is one fan to many..

Hope these news readers all get hit by a bendy bus!!

  28. MikeB says:

Whatever has happened to Arsenal the corporation?

As a major fan of Wenger, and all that he stands for, I am happy for him to conduct his transfer business in the way that he feels is right, and I understand that he likes to do business in a calm, genteel, and above all private fashion, BUT…

What the hell happened to Arsenal’s public and media relations machinery?

The fans, the players, the board, the owner, and the club I have loved for so many years, are taking a serious beating from all and sundry, and yet they do and say nothing…. It’s foolish, it’s ridiculous, it’s unfair on the fans and the players, and it’s self-perpetuating.
The media writes crap, day-in and day-out, we understand that, BUT….

As a result, the Arsenal fans, through vehicles such as this and many other rational and articulate blogs, respond with frustration and anger.

The media then takes that frustration and anger, tweaks it, embellishes it, and writes another nonsensical story that is even more far-fetched than the last.

The fans again respond with more anger and frustration, and the wheel of journalistic vitriol turns once again; ad nauseum and ad infinitum.

I don’t expect the club to respond to every nonsense story in the Daily Star, or the Mail, or wherever, but this is becoming farcical.

So far this window, I’ve read stories of Nasri, Fabregas, RVP, Walcott, Arshavin, Clichy, Bendtner, Denilson, Diaby, Risicky, Eboue, Lansbury, Almunia, and Vela; all leaving for pastures new; with no response from the club, apart from some third-source platitudes from Wenger.

Even when that idiot-woman Bracewell-Smith vented her anger on the board all we got was a feeble-minded response from an apparently geriatric incompetent… It is not good enough!

We have few enough friends in the media as it is.
The fans and the media are desperate for some kind of legitimate story from the club and they are clearly getting nothing… and so, in place of truth and interesting updates to digest and comment on, the fans get angry and frustrated and then vent their fury on what they see as an uncommunicative and uncaring Arsenal establishment, while the media continue making-up stories that have no foundation in truth whatsoever.

This is undermining the players, the manager, and the club, and giving our detractors (SKY Sports et al) opportunity after opportunity to slate us with impunity.

It is also pissing me off!

For Christ’s sake get it in gear Arsenal… This is becoming embarrassing!

Rant over… please get back to whatever it was you were saying… Thank you.

  29. K-TR7 says:

Will we scouted him for 3 years.the Velez president confirmed we were interested,so did Palermo’s Zamperini.we had also scouted kompany since he was 15 but Wenger as usual dallied and Kompany has become a beast for city.its typical Arsenal.

  30. goonerstan says:

Yeah KT..Its beyond me how this man thinks. I have had enough of wenger. Its alarming I barely see an arsenal shirt these days. We are now a ridicule. Most younger fans have abandoned us even my girlfriend makes fun of me. My nephew a budding arsenal fan has left us for the northern chavs.

  31. rico says:

Kt, I never believed he was joining us if i’m honest, i don’t believe any link and until afc.com announce a signing, i’ll carry on that way…

  32. Limpars Wand says:

So it’s come to reading between the lines of 2nd hand quotes which, for all we know, aren’t even real. Let’s not even mention those trusty ‘inside sources’ and ‘senior officials at the club’.

At what point do journalists/bloggers think ‘hey, not alot is happening, maybe i should retire my quill and go on holiday.’?

  33. MikeB says:

    Morning Rico,

I’m sorry, but there’s ome anti-Arsenal-board-of-directors hack impersonating me… if he posts on here please ignore him 😆

Yeah, it was me and I meant every word of it..

Hope it’s all good with you.

  34. rico says:

Alls fab thanks, other than the small team we are talking about 😉

Hope all is good with you too…

  35. K-TR7 says:

Hi mikeB.What a post!its very true what you’ve said.we have been asking for the club to at least communicate to us.it would really help to settle the fans’ nerves.i find it rude how they treat us and without any communication is slowly gobbling up our common sense.a speculation made by one paper when written over and over again by several papers will make it sound like the truth.the club could put an end to this but they choose not to which leaves us with nothing to cling on but more infuriating quotes from Arsene.its pretty messed up. or the club to at least communicate to us.it would really help to settle the fans’ nerves.i find it rude how they treat us and without any communication is slowly gobbling up our common sense.a speculation made by one paper when written over and over again by several papers will make it sound like the truth.the club could put an end to this but they choose not to which leaves us with nothing to cling on but more infuriating quotes from Arsene.its pretty messed up.

  36. MikeB says:

    Hi KTR-7,

    I couldn’t agree more.

Some old hack once wrote that when a man is dying of thirst he will chase a mirage.

When he gets to the mirage and finds no water, he will sometimes even drink the sand.

But that’s old hacks for you. 😆

    Have a good one

  37. Will says:

    Mike B, nail, head, hit.

It is the PR dept I am angry at. The press take the piss and we take it like cowards.

  38. MikeB says:

    Hi Will,

yeah, I know exactly what you mean.

I sometimes wonder if it’s all down to dear-old Ivan Pavlov…. we’ve been beaten-up and done nothing for so long now, we’ve started believing it’s normal.

  39. Will says:

I get laughed at when I say the press really doesn’t like us but come on, it really is obvious.

I just want Arsenal to come out and say, where are your facts?

Remember when Wenger challenged the press over the kiddie fiddler charges?

  40. MikeB says:

    Sorry folks, but gotta go.

Rico, thanks for allowing me to, yet again, vent my spleen 😆

    Have a great day y’all

  41. K-TR7 says:

Mike there is probably no interest from city/mancs for nasri but that story has been recycled so much it now sounds like the truth.same applies to the story about us accepting 35mil for cesc.its probably not true but when it has been recycled by all papers branding it an ‘exclusive’ we are inclined to believe it.its like torture but the club don’t seem to be in any mood to give anything away, even if it would ease our worst fears.Wenger is playing with his pokerface on i understand why but its taking a toll on us and the anger and frustration against the management will just grow even if the management think they are carrying the best interests of the club at heart. so much it now sounds like the truth.same applies to the story about us accepting 35mil for cesc.its probably not true but when it has been recycled by all papers branding it an ‘exclusive’ we are inclined to believe it.its like torture but the club don’t seem to be in any mood to give anything away, even if it would ease our worst fears.Wenger is playing with his pokerface on i understand why but its taking a toll on us and the anger and frustration against the management will just grow even if the management think they are carrying the best interests of the club at heart.

We need to draw a line in the sand at HH. Here and no further, we need to stop reading the absolute and utter crap written about our proud and historic club and we absolutely need to stop arguing about it on here.

    Here is the line ________________________________________.

  43. rico says:

    Always a pleasure Mike,

Will, No way, HH is free to discuss what people want and if that includes the garbage written in the paps, so be it…

  44. Will says:

I think debate is healthy but the arguments that are flying around the world of Arsenal are getting too much and yes, I am guilty as well.

    Remember, we are not Tottenham.

  45. Will says:

Rico, I am not saying don’t debate, but there are some arguments that are not Arsenal and I am just as guilty and I will stop that now.

  46. Joaquim moreira says:

    good morning!
The season does not start for Arsenal tomorrow?
The strange thing is that I if so. as no team has already almost completely set, ready to work in an integrated way, to acquire team spirit and achievement and ready for new challenges to come.
    But I’m from another time … 🙂

  47. rico says:

    Will,

You cannot just create your rules on here, fans have their own opinions and are free to talk about them, that’s why this site exsists…

If bloggers want to read the papers and talk about it, vent their angers and frustration, this is the place to do it….

We are not arguing, just discussing all the crap that the reporters write…

    It’s good fun!

  48. Will says:

I am not creating rules I am trying to remind that we are the Arsenal and we should leave the internal bickering to the lesser clubs like Tottenham and Chelsea.

  49. W.A.T.H says:

The media are throwing around quotes willy nilly and it sells papers and makes great headlines, I don’t really care abt headlines but wengers lack of ambition and lack of intent in the transfer market isn’t great for any of us…! lay down a marker for fans and players alike and show he means business, ferguson has bought Young and Jones and done good business already clearly not sitting around on having won the league again and what are we doing…. buying yet more kids and unproven talent…! great in 5 yrs isn’t good enough 5yrs never comes…! wenger for me is very close to ruining all the good he has done……! time to act Arsene..!

  50. arsenal fan says:

dont you think that a big signing should be made before the asia tour so as to improve excitement levels there……..

  51. W.A.T.H says:

AF, it’s not about excitement levels we not kids here or 5yr olds in a sweetie store we need to see some intent and ambition from wenger to show that he knows he needs to buy quality players and to rectify the weaknesses we have within the team/squad…!

  52. goonerstan says:

I actually gave up on wenger a while back. Just like one mug says over at legrove….wenger is a LIAR!

  53. goonerstan says:

Am sorry WATH but I don’t believe that….wenger is just using the board as a pretext to ruin our club. He’s been handed a cool 60m yet what does he do? He sold the whore and kolo in one window yet no replacement was signed. Instead he replaced kolo with skillashit. Mark my words he will sell fab yet he won’t invest in the team. Like KT said previously….WENGER OUT.

  54. rico says:

stan, i don’t think any of them tell the truth…

It’s like the ticket prices, they always say big things about signings just when St’s are due for renewal or they are hike up the prices..

  55. rico says:

Because he isn’t buying players to make us winners, or at least to give us a chance of being winners….

And the board are as bad as they should be making sure he does….

  56. Will says:

    goonerstan says:

Am sorry WATH but I don’t believe that….wenger is just using the board as a pretext to ruin our club.

What are his reasons for wanting to ruin the club? Are some unknown forces paying him to ruin Arsenal?

  57. Will says:

Still not answering why a highly successful man would want to “ruin” the business he works for and who pay him very well.

The question stands, why would Wenger want to ruin Arsenal?

  58. rico says:

Personally speaking I have no idea but what i am saying is that by making so few quality signings over the last few years and by signing players like Silvestre, Squilli, Bischoff – and keeping so many under rated and poor players in our squad, his actions suggest he is not really interested in winning trophies….

Oh and lastly, by selling high quality players and not replacing them…..

  59. jeremy says:

Don’t be surprised he doesn’t sign anyone. The reason being” I have ready made youngsters straining at the leash. They are ready to take on the epl”.We have heard it all before many times only to go back to square one. This will be his final chance to get the gunners firing . If not,he could be out after ten matches.

  60. rico says:

    jeremy

Gazidis said ‘the fans will ultimately decide wengers future’ – well if things don’t happen this summer, your comment about ten games may not be far from the truth…

If of course gazidis was truthing and he has the balls to follow up his comment….

  61. Joaquim moreira says:

    W.A.T H. : newspaper cover a dayly Portuguese sports
If Cardozo out (and probably yes to Russia) Benfica target is Bendtner.
Asia Tour ends after the middle of July. I don’t understand why we must by players only after that Tour. The logical is going there with all the squad for the season 2011/2012 and start to prepaare it for the next big and important challenges

  62. goonerstan says:

Highly successful my ass…wenger inherited GG’s classic team in the mid 90s. He sprinkled it with a few world beaters and took the credit for creating a fantastic team. In his early years In arsenal he only had to slug it out with old red nose but when it was taken up a notch what happened? Wenger fell apart like a park of cards. Its so painful that gooners on here can’t see his flaws. He’s lost it. I lost faith in him after the debacle in Birmingham…hey WILL open your eyes!

  63. W.A.T.H says:

Erick u bandit where you been………..

GS, I dont agree with you on wenger wanting to ruin the club at all thinks thats a daft accessment to be honest and the board are the ones who are supposed to be his bosses so answer me why they are happy to let him have a free hand in how everything is done..? they have milked the cash cos lined their pockets and wenger fits perfectly into they way they have sold us down the river since Highbury…! His ego was the the perfect excuse to run with project youth and its failed has he now at last got the balls to admit he should of bought the last few years and put things right, only time will tell but I think not, JM is spot on why have we not got our players and targets bought already wenger must know who he wants so go get them…. the players should be in place to have pre-season to gel and get used to their team mates and the way the team plays…! bargain basement buys yet again…? Its a joke we are supposed to be a big club the board promised that we would compete with the tob clubs in europe and buy the best players… dream on… lies lies lies………..

  64. Erick says:

Am great guys got a contract job and am working like an elephant and living like an ant lol… guess I haven’t missed anything

  65. W.A.T.H says:

I like that comment Erick and nope you’ve missed absolutely nothing 😉

    Glad you well mate…!

  66. Erick says:

Aw is really messing about eh we have not signed anyone yet and three of our starting eleven are on their way out

  67. Erick says:

Thanks Wath hope you are well mate, at this rate qualifying for the Europe league will be like winning the league

  68. rico says:

Come on Will, we are not here to make comments about peoples intelligence…

Wasn’t Parlour in the sqaud too?

  69. Will says:

Well the Duh can of made me have to. It was an amazing way to put across and deep and interesting point.

So 1 or 2 players was Wenger “inheriting GG’s classic team in the mid 90s.”

Anyone care to list a few names from that classic mid 90’s team?

  70. goonerstan says:

Slow down there sparky! What’s with the insults? I have my opinion and you have yours.why the name calling…when is it a crime to be passionate about one’s club. I want the best for my club and that’s all..please refrain from insults afterall u were championing that a couple of weeks back.

  71. W.A.T.H says:

Someone mentioned this a while ago and I can’t remember who it was but answer this one :

Who here thinks Wenger would of bought Bergkamp…????

  72. W.A.T.H says:

The only one they might not of bought would of been Vieira as he was unknown !! Pires and Henry were both known…!

  73. Will says:

I really don’t think GG had the sight to get a Pires or Vieira. We get a Selley or a Helder.

  74. goonerstan says:

Dude it wasn’t meant to….I consider you my amigo. If I got on your bad side am sorry.

  75. Will says:

No problem Stan, I am just fed up with Gooners all over the world reading this made up media dross, believing it and then turning upon ourselves like we are common Tottenham fans.

I want to win as much as everyone but we were spoiled with that team, I doubt any side (Barca apart) will ever see a team with so many world stars at their peak together again.

Also, we go against 3 teams who spend what they like, that is like you running your family shop going up against Tesco’s.

  76. rico says:

    Will,

Forget the spuds, we are nothing like them, not as a team nor as fans….

Re the Tesco comment, I understand what you are saying about the money but no-one is really asking for our club to spend 20, 30 or 40 million on one player, we don’t need to do that and some of Wengers oustanding signings in the past have proved that.

I actually don’t care if a player he signs costs 1 million or 15 million, it doesn’t matter – no amount of money can tell what is in a players heart.

All AFC needs is 4 signings right now, four players who will give everything they have within them to be winners….

If Cesc, Nasri and Clichy go, then we need one more…..

  77. Will says:

Rico, I am frustrated as well but I am trying in my ham fisted way of saying, don’t let the media bastards tear us apart and try and have a little perspective.

We have a training ground international sides fight over
We have the best and most up to date stadium in club football
    We have no real debt
All we need now is Gazidis to push Wenger like DD did and we are golden.

  78. goonerstan says:

Yeah will but like my was will say “no fire without smoke”. Am really terrified at the prospect of losing so many players in one window. Now its walcott and RVP…..tomorrow they might say its bakky sagna and wilshere……lord help us

  79. goonerstan says:

Yeah will but like my father will say “no fire without smoke”. Am really terrified at the prospect of losing so many players in one window. Now its walcott and RVP…..tomorrow they might say its bakky sagna and wilshere……lord help us

  80. Will says:

Stan, what you first have to accept is, the press have an agenda, they want to whip up a frenzy so they can create more stories and make more money.

In any of those “exclusives” how many actual interviews or corroborated quotes did you see?

I am not saying they are all lies but try and remember the primary role of these journo’s.

  81. W.A.T.H says:

Will I hear what your sayign re the press and they have always hated us have never taken any notice of them BUT they dont detract from the fact that wenger has failed us the last few years and we all know it, we dont need the papers to tell us we all have eyes and are perfectly aware of our weaknesses if he went and bought the players we need then the papars would actually have very little to talk crap about….!

  82. Will says:

You say he has failed us and maybe he has but maybe, the board have made him say things and they have been lying.

  83. W.A.T.H says:

Will, noone makes you say anything you dont want too, he is paid 7million pounds a year so if that salary buys his silence he is as guilty as they are dont you agree…? They are guilty of a great many things and a great many lies BUT even with less funds than others the players we needed were not 30million pound players they were prob 10/12 million and three of those kinda players would of won us titles and trophies and even if we would not of won we would of not laid down and died with a bit more fight in the team and leaders…!

  84. goonerstan says:

Will am sick of it….why do these punks hate us so much? What was our crime? And wenger and the board are not helping at all

  85. rico says:

Let’s just all believe what is, when it’s announced but I have to say, when all these rumours about players want to leaving begin, i also start to think like Stan re the no smoke etc….

robin is usually quick to deny any such rumour and no doubt he will tomorrow if its rubbish, same could be said of Theo..

Right now, it’s really hard to be positive, AW knows that we fans are frustrated, he could have done something about that, he knows who he wants to buy hopefully, why take so long over it….

  86. Will says:

This happens every year, the papers are full of all the players we are going to lose. Yes, Wenger has brought it upon himself but the press have an anti-Arsenal agenda and I honestly wish I knew why.

People, vent your anger at the Arsenal PR dept.

  87. W.A.T.H says:

Arsenal have never been any different re PR and making statements Will they wont change now, they are useless and pathetic and don’t think about what the fans need to hear as any kind of response or reassurance….! Their viewpoint is its merely gossip we dont need to respond to gossip…!

  88. rico says:

Ok, I know it;s just media talk but this is interesting….

Uzbekistan captain Odil Ahmedov claims Arsenal have expressed an interest in acquiring his services.

The 23-year-old spent the 2010/11 campaign on loan at Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala from Pahktakor Tashkent.

Having caught the eye in Eastern Europe, he believes he is now ready to test himself in one of the continent’s top divisions.

A switch to the Premier League would certainly appeal, with Uzbek football often overlooked.

Ahmedov could help to break down those barriers, with the opportunity to turn out for Arsenal set to catapult him into the spotlight.

He admits he would relish the chance to represent the Gunners and hopes something will come of the reported interest.

He said: “Arsenal are interested in me and if I move to them, it will be a success for the whole of Uzbek football.”

  89. rico says:

No Will, but I am talking about where he comes from, is there some under lying connection…..

  90. Potter says:

Why do the press hate us so much , Firstly in London traditionally most reporters were Spurs supporters and latterly we are perceived as a French team in London. In the north of England we are universally disliked for having the temerity to be the only Southern team to consistently win trophies and as so many of the Managers from that part are the spawn of Sir Alex , his acolytes really don’t want to go against him or else they won’t get their invites to their monthly get togethers.

  91. rico says:

They always have Potter and always will, why, I don’t know but latterly then haven’t liked us signing so many overseas players and of course, there could be the French/British connection 😉

  92. goonerstan says:

I Say to hell with them…….all we really need is to get rid of the dross in our team ala denilson diaby eboue bendtner etc….keep our star players and get some good squad players…..at the end this same biased press will be singing our praises. Remember how they used to fawn on henry bergy and paddy V…we just need the old wenger back and its world domination all over again…its possible y’all. Wenger just needs to see the light. So far project youth has failed us so I guess its back to the drawing board.

  93. rico says:

‘Wenger just needs to see the light. So far project youth has failed us’

    Spot on Stan…..

  94. rico says:

Man City have signed Clichy and it will be confirmed tomorrow …

according to one of Citeh’s blogs………………

  95. K-TR7 says:

If fabregas is to leave and nasri stays i don’t want him to play in cesc’s role.if we don’t buy anyone id rather jack/ramsey/rosicky in there.i know stats don’t tell the whole story but he had only 1 assist all season and its no surprise.i saw how he several times took that extra touch in promising positions instead of playing onrushing players in.

  96. rico says:

    Kt,

No we haven’t signed anyone 😉

When Cesc goes, I hope we play a different kind game…..

    A Team game…….

  97. rico says:

That’s me done guys, catch up tomorrow…

Be good and here’s to a busy news week for AFC, positive news of course 😉

    Night all……

  98. W.A.T.H says:

They can’t possibly of paid 19million for Clichy must be a typo more like 9million if we lucky….! Anyway, seeing is believing…!

    Nite all…..

    2moro should be fun !!
