Top two starting to sneak away… Joel Campbell’s Arsenal career finally gets going…

White Rabbits

Morning all.

One has to feel sorry for Norwich. With the score at 1-1 with just minutes to go, a crazy moment by one of their defenders, which resulted in a red card and a City penalty, saw them lose. Darn, we could have done with them dropping more points. I’m sure they will though and we probably will too, but not yesterday.

I didn’t see the game, seldom do when the boys kick-off so just Match of The Day highlights for me.

Joel Campbell started the match as many of us expected, and he came close to opening the scoring with a curling effort – sadly, the ball didn’t curl enough.

Soon after, Gomis should have given Swansea the lead. With just Cech to beat, his touch was heavy, he fell over in hope of a penalty no doubt, and there was Bellerin to clear the ball. Merts was left stranded in the build up, Bellerin was superb to cover the ground in order to get back.

Gomis had another good chance but his header was straight at Cech. Giroud then had a golden opportunity to make it 1-0 but his shot flew over the bar. He really should have buried that one.

Montero was fouled by Bellerin/Campbell resulting in a free-kick which Sigurdsson fired into the box. Merts looked to have hand balled it but luckily, no penalty given. I think we got away with one there.

Second half.

Giroud made amends for his earlier miss. Mesut Ozil with the corner and Ollie rose high to head home Arsenal’s 2000th goal under Arsene Wenger.

Petr Cech was called into action soon after but he doesn’t like conceding does he? Not in the league anyway.

Our second goal was slightly fortuitous imo. Bellerin’s shot/cross deflected off of Ashley Williams high into the air and as Fabianski looked to take control of the ball he was bundled into by Koscielny. Either that or Fabianski bundled into Koscielny but I think that had a player done that to Cech, we’d all be asking for the foul to be given. Kevin Friend saw nothing wrong and that’s all what matters. Anyway, our old keeper spilled the ball and Koscielny tapped home the loose ball.

The start of something good?
The start of something good?

The third was pretty special, very special for Joel Campbell. Ozil was yet again the provider with a lovely cross into the box which ended up at the feet of the Costa Rican. Campbell took a touch and then fired his shot back across the goal.. That will have done him the world of good and it might just kick off his Arsenal career. Finally!

He’s been talking to the Arsenal Player:

I’m very happy. I had to wait for this moment and now we have to keep working to strengthen our team.

I’m very happy but the important thing is the team wins. We had a good game so we have to keep going and prepare for the next game against Bayern Munich.

The fans were incredible. They supported us the whole game and it was very important for us.

The away fans are always incredible….

3-0 and game over.

We remain level on points with City and all we can do is keep on winning and hope those around us drop points. Utd dropped two yesterday, West Ham dropped three and Chelsea lost again which is always good news. Costa is facing another retrospective ban too which makes my day even better….

Next up for us is Bayern Munich on Wednesday..

Happy Sunday guys….

After seeing the replay, Merts should’ve copped a straight red as well as giving up the penalty, but in real time it was a tough one to call.
Good result.
Good performance in the second half and as we’ve said several times of late, Job done.
Morning all.

Rico, I thought it was fitting that Koscielny scored, after your piece about him yesterday, which I only got to read this morning. Fantastic.
And to see Giroud break the 2000th goal record was for me, also fitting, for a man who has his critics but still has been a fantastic record for us, still the best minutes to goals ratio of any Premier league player, could be worse, could have Rooney as your centre forward, he deserved it, well done.

What else can be said,?
You gotta be happy with that, Campbell didn,t let himself down either.

Wow even, Gary Lineker has come out and said
“I think Arsenal could well win the league. There, I’ve said it”.
Plleeeaaassseee keep it up Lads !!!

Rico, just have to disagree a little with what you said yesterday , about not really been fussed about the result come Wednesday, C,mon girl I,m sure you,ll change your view on that the closer it gets to the game. Lol.

The fact that we got away with a handball and then the 2nd goal which could have easily gone against us, just makes me think that Lady Luck is smiling on us this season…

Afternoon All…

Top post Rico.

Great performance yesterday…Campbell was the only one under scrutiny…and boy, did he pass!

Pundits, that word again, are still expecting Arsenal to bottle it as usual…

They’d all be disappointed…all the while we crumbled after great starts and hopes, we never had a goalkeeper of rare class and experience like Cech…we never had three CBs performing at world class level in Per, Kos and Gabriel… we never had two world class orchestras in Ozil and Sanchez. We never had an Arsene Wenger who had a plan B. Those days we played with a manager who believed possession was more important than winning.

But it’s all turned around.

We have a team that are determined, fight for one another and hungry.

People say we don’t have a deep squad. Man City that does lost just Aguero and Silva …and have been struggling. We’re without Welbeck, Walcott, Ox, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky…all attacking players and still blew our jinx team apart with three solid goals…it even could have been more.

If dear Gunners can’t stay behind this very team for the title, then they never will.

Good Afternoon to The Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

I missed the best part of the game. I looked out my front window at half time to see the water from the recent heavy rains running the wrong way on the the street and rising fast. So, off out with spade in hand to check the drain basins on the street. They were only partially clogged, but just overwhelmed by the volume of the runoff. Luckily the rain abated and the water level dropped, but not before my neighbours basement suite was flooded.

When I got back inside I had lost my game connection and by the time I got reconnectd the game had only a few minutes to go and I had missed all the goals. Oh well, we won the game and my house was still dry.

Almost as good was the Chelski result. It seems Maureen Yo is in deep trouble. Here is a nice article from the Mirror;

My favourite part is “…No wonder he went through that man-child, monosyllabic charade on television.

He knows it. It was the sound of silence from a Bridge under troubled water. …”

CG, A bridge under troubled waters, I like it. I think Giroud has picked up where Theo left of, Nervous gasps when he went down, though. He has out scored Rooney in every season ever since he joined Arsenal,
Ozil man of the match again, He,s fine form is certainly beginning to filter through,
Joel Campbell found out yesterday, that having the “worlds best number 10”, to assist you, you can finally start scoring goals again.

and kudos to Leicester and Watford continuing their fine form, jeez Watford 2-0 away to Stoke last week and 2-0 home to West Ham, big results for them.

Rico – They are expecting one of the largest El Ninos on record in the Pacific this winter. So, it will probably be a warm and wet winter with little or no snow. The local ski hills are very worried that this ski season could be a bust.

Oh well, at least I wont have to shovel it.

Rico – Yes! Arsene said it with one of those wry knowing smiles of his. Wink wink, nudge nudge, know what I mean, eh eh! I’m sure Jose will be mightily amused by his arch enemy, the Specialist in Failure.

I wonder how much he regrets those words now. However, he is making it very hard for Roman to keep his services. Adam will not be pleased that his source of amusement may be axed.

Bellerin,s speed to make up over half the length of the pitch in under 6 seconds to recover Gomis,s chance on goal. Remarkable speed.
another example of AW ability to spot talent, he made sure Bellerin, then a 16 year old was part of the Fabregas deal.
He doesn,t always get it right, but when he does, theres no one like him.

CG. I have started a Jose To Stay campaign. The worst thing would be that he got the sack. A day when his scumbag team lose, he has yet another meltdown on camera and we win away by 3 goals is a day rich in both humour and a warm satisfaction. The subtleties and ironies are quite superb. He really couldn’t be a bigger dickhead if he tried. It is effing great.

Adam – Amen Brother! You are preaching to the converted.

Watching Jose frown, pout, rage, squirm, etc. as his once arrogant, but now humbled and hopefully soon humiliated, team lose yet again gives me a perverse sense of peace and joy. Sadly, I doubt he will last much longer in the job.

Rumour has it that Roman is ready to cut him a cheque for a years salary to buy him out.

It may have been the sale of Cech that moved Moronoh, oh ho, ho, ho, ho, ho! To move his frame to mindless revenge, jealousy and envy! Plus he just didn’t get his own way, the spoilt brat. And we all know he’s a control freak. So he’s stamped his feet and had a ickle temper tantrum and is now taking it out on his own players just to prove he IS in control! Yeh, right!
Yes I’m enjoying the poison pygmy’s meltdown and long may it continue until he’s totally despised by all and totally unemployable anywhere!

Evening, Congrats to the Ladies, I feel a manager of the month coming for Wenger, has won all games in Oct, surely.

Cech is 1 clean sheet away from equalling David james,s Premier league record of 169.
Lets hope it happens against Spurs

He,s played 13 games for Arsenal, with 8 clean sheets
11 million, what a bargain.
Wavy I think your right, Roman over ruling Jose in the Cech deal, surely was the beginning of his Meltdown.

Wavy
Wavy

If you remember the Pygmy was quite vocal about selling Cech to another European league. Roman decreed that Cech, to reward his loyalty, and super service to the chavs could choose where he wanted to go next. He chose not to leave London so Arsenal, who had almost certainly tapped him up earlier in 2015, made an offer and spent £10m bought his to Islington and as they say, the rest is history!
The small one did not get his way at any point during this transaction, made it quite clear that Cech would win us at least 12 points every season and suggested that it would make a real differences to where we would finish in the table. He was in a proper strop then and his mood has not changed since! He lost his precious toy and replaced him with a younger model who is out long term injured. Every week the midget has seen us perform better and better whilst his own team has gone from bad to worse. Who does he blame? Wenger, of course for having the temerity to have bought his reserve goalkeeper and wants him back, and no one will listen to him, no one will work for him, and no one will do what he says, and no one cares about him anymore, band everyone hates him, and he’s going to the garden to eat worms! I wish it was the worms turn to eat him, along with all the true supporters of the game of football!
Long may he fester in puss of his failure!

Morning all.
Joe Say has one problem…though I see it as a massive asset for all who detest him and Chelski.
He truly believes he’s bigger than the club.
I hope he sees out his sentence, and no amount of “good” behaviour should see Roman pay him out.

I kinda enjoy the mourin’s theater of bollocks too.

I agreed with alleskev that to be a joke, Mou should be in Chelsea forever.

But I guess with Roman’s iron hand, NO WAY JOSE.
