Three points should have been ours! Arsene cries Foul!

Morning all.

Before anyone jumps down my throat suggesting that 1-1 was a fair result, maybe it was overall but…

With less than ten minutes to play and 1-0 up, we really should have been more mature and able to hold onto that lead for the rest of the game.

We were slow to get started, in fact we didn’t really get started until the half-time whistle was about to be blown.

Everton arrived at The Emirates full of confidence having beaten Manchester United in the week and boy did their confidence show in the first 40 minutes. We couldn’t get the ball and even when we did, we couldn’t keep it.

Ross Barkley was running rings around our midfield, Carl Jenkinson was getting battered on the right but for all their possession which at times, was far far superior to ours, they couldn’t find a way through to score.

Distin dragged a shot wide and Barkley had a shot on goal which was deflected over the bar.

Everton were good, some of which was their own doing but a lot was to do with the way we were playing, which was very average, especially in midfield.

But is was us who had possibly the best chances of the first half when Kieran Gibbs was just inches away from getting on the end of a cross from Santi Cazorla and then credit has to go to Tim Howard for getting off his line quickly to stop Olivier Giroud and then Aaron Ramsey.

Half-time came and went…..

Tim Howard was again forced to make a couple of good saves, again from Giroud and Ramsey after which Szczesny was called into action. First he punched away a stinging long distance shot from Pienaar and soon after another from Barkley.

On 70 minutes, Arsene Wenger  made changes, not just one though, he went the whole hogg and used all three of his substitutes. Tomas Rosicky, Theo Walcott and Mathieu Flamini came on and off went Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey. (All three had not had the best of days)

Flamini almost broke the deadlock but for a couple of inches again….

Everton then went close, Mirallas saw his shot deflect into the side netting and Distin headed over…

Finally, we broke the deadlock on 81 minutes. Tomas Rosicky chipped a ball in from the left, Walcott headed the ball back across goal and Giroud had a gaping goal ahead of him. He totally missed the ball but thankfully, Mesut Ozil was right behind him to bang the ball into the back of the net.

Surely we could hold on for the points…

No.

Substitute Deulofeu fired home after some build up play in which we were naive to say the least.

Lukaku could have made it 2-1 before the end but he didn’t and then Giroud very nearly stunned us all with a stunning shot from distance which only the right hand-side corner of the woodwork denied…

The game ended soon after with points shared.

Arsene Wenger cried foul after the match:

I believe they put very good pressure on us when we got the ball to stop our flow but when we got out of the pressure they stopped us every time with a foul.

Just to make a foul without being punished by the referee is a huge advantage.

He did add that Everton deserved their point…

Not a disaster but a disappointment that we missed the chance to go 7 points clear of the chasing pack…..

The FA Cup draw took place later in the day, one which saw us land a home tie against Tottenham…… Nice!

That’s it for another day, next up is Napoli….

    Morning All
    Morning Rico, good post…

    Everton visit Gazprom in Feb’…
And are home to the Northern Oilers in May…

    What goes around etc…

Let’s put Napoli to bed and then see how we can terrorize the Northern Oilers leaky defence next weekend..?

  2. TT says:

    Morning all

Don’t agree about us being more mature when defending the lead. It was a fantastic goal and sometimes you just have to hold your hand up and admit the opposition deserved something out of this.

We looked tired and ragged in the first half for most parts and its now that the lack of rotation in the last month is starting to show. But with Podolsky and Walcott back we can start to rest players a bit.

I’m not overly worried about the draw as I think people are underestimating Everton a lot. No team will find it easy against them and they will take points of the other top teams.

Hopefully we can add one or two good squad players in January, but I dont think we will be seeing the club going after a top striker until next summer though and we could have done with some magic upfront. Not that Giraud is a bad striker but he cannot win games on his own like the very top strikers can.

  3. rico says:

    Morning Kev. Thanks

Still feel we have missed a big chance to break away in the league. We rode the storm, got the goal and then totally fluffed our lines…

Just hope we can play an awful lot better on Wednesday as if we don’t, I fear we will kiss our CL hopes goodbye…

  4. NashuaGunners says:

    Good Morning Rico and All

Good Report but I do sense your frustration when we couldn’t defend like Chelsea (parked the Bus) especially when we took the lead and less than 10 minutes to go on real time.

No doubt they boss the midfield for a long part of the first half but never threaten us on goal. The problem with the midfield, they kept giving the ball away so cheaply.

  5. rico says:

    TT

For me, both Arteta and Flamini had the chance to stop that attack before the ball was played out wide. Gibbs too could have done a lot better. He gave the guy too much space and maybe on another day, he’d have got his entire body in the way of the ball…

I agree Everton are looking very very good, but with such little time left in the game, we should have held on imho..

  6. tsgh says:

Morning Rico, kev, TT and all

    Excellent write-up Rico…

I concur with you on this TT: ‘We looked tired and ragged in the first half for most parts and its now that the lack of rotation in the last month is starting to show. But with Podolsky and Walcott back we can start to rest players a bit.’

I too believe a draw was not a bad result at all… it gives us a breather to go to the Wastelands in a relaxed state (hopeful having qualified for the next round of the CL) and end their home record.

Hopefully, AR16 and MO11 can get a rest mid week too…

  7. tsgh says:

I take it UEFA have ‘chickened-out’ of sanctioning Napoli following their crowd troubles against us and OM in the last few weeks…

Concerning January, can AW make a deal with Rumeneiger and Sammer to buy Suarez so that we can get Lewandowski instead?

Another player who is saving Milan on his own is Balo… I know his attitude is questionable but boy he is world class…

  8. potter says:

If Gibbs had got closer the ball would have gone to Coleman to cross . It’s the problem that both fullbacks had yesterday with our wide midfielders leaving them with no help and getting stuck with two men. Wilshere refuses point back to cover because his fitness depends on 5 to 10 yard bursts and 30 yard covering runs are beyond him , bit like Arshavin he is a central player and should not be on the wing. Arguably Webb could have called a foul against Lukaku whose overhead kick which was so poor that he never got to touch the ball but did prevent Koscielny from getting to it. However Webb likes to play advantage and tries not to stop the play, his biggest fault is that he doesn’t go back and book players when the ball goes dead. But as I said when I got home last night , it was the best game I have seen this season so far but it exposed the frailties that still exist. Arteta was owned in the middle and was getting by passed too often, he does a good job but when there is a bit of pace about we need better.

  9. rico says:

    Thanks Ts..

i don’t think we can afford to rest Ramsey and Ozil on Wednesday. Napoli are a good side who are more than capable of beating us in Italy.

Play like we did in the first half yesterday, they will too…

  10. NashuaGunners says:

Presumable, I think AW went with his best team. TR is a game changer coming from the bench unlike JW. JW lack the speed to track back and Jenks suffers.

Ramsey our gem but give the ball away sometime so cheaply thus causes us to chase the ball and add presure in the midfield.

Gibbs did well throughout the game but at the latter part fail to close down the space between him and Deulofeu and thus gave Deulofeu enough time to direct his shot.

  11. rico says:

I meant when the shot was hit really, as the Everton guy was about to shoot, Gibbs could easily thrown his body in front of the ball..

I know I must sound picky but its the little things that could mean the difference between winning the league or not…

  12. tsgh says:

I guess you are right there…

I was thinking that JW or Sc19 can get another trial at no.10 and then we can play both Flamini and MA08 in the pivote…

Monreal can then play on the lhs as a no.11 with TR07 on the other side…

  13. rico says:

Jenks could have done better on the original cross too…

Am I right in suggesting the players were getting a bit twitchy with each other too in the first half. I’m sure Arteta and Jack had a couple of words…

  14. tsgh says:

Ng, not sure JW is that slow to be honest… he just chooses to tuck in-field at the wrong time imo….

You are right again about JW and MA08…

When JW moved to the lhs side after getting a bashing from Mikel, Gibbs gave JW a disappointed look and a shake of the head after one Ever-loan attack when I think Ozil/OG12 ended up coming over to cover.

re. rotation the EPL is more important so if I was in Monsieur Wenger’s shoes i will have an eye on that one especially since it is away…

  15. potter says:

That’s what I meant about Jack point blank refusing, Arteta told him that Jenks was being left with two but he wasn’t interested. Again when the cross came over he had two the crosser and the overlapper . it’s the style we play and the harvest we reap from it.

  16. MO11 says:

Good write and exactly what I thought of the game. I really think AW should have started Arteta, Flamuini, TR07, Ozil, and Gnbary. I thought Ozil was on a totally different level yesterday, outstanding everything good started with him. Yesterday highlighted how much we need a top class striker, don’t get me wrong Giroud is good and very nearly got us the three points at the end but in games that are tight like the one last night we need a striker that can do something from nothing, can take their chances, is in the box when the ball comes in, and takes gambles and in the big games I just don’t see that from Giroud. Don’t get me wrong he is good but just hasn’t got that bit extra you need in those big games.

I was gutted about the goal we conceded really we should have been more switched on, I don’t know why after we scored we still looked like we wanted another we should have sat back and tried to hit them on the break and use Theo. After we scored we still looked very open and you could see AW wasn’t happy at all. I think AW has a point about the ref he let far to much go in Everton’s favour and should have booked McCarthy and Barry very early in the game for the persistent fouls everytime we were trying to break forward and Lukaku should have at least been booked for pushing Kos in the first half.

We really can’t say if this is one point gained or to lost until we play our next two league games, lets hope this will have woke the lads and shown them to win the league so can’t just expect to walk over teams every week.

  17. potter says:

TS I didn’t mean that Jack is slow, in short bursts he uses speed to get away from players . However it’s the lung bursting recovery runs that he like Arshavin did finds difficult.

  18. NashuaGunners says:

Yes Arteta and Jack were exchanging words (in-fighting) whether due to Jack not tracking back or Arteta hanging on too long to make a pass, I really don’t know.

Arteta positional sense is really good but we need mobile DM. He lack the strength and pace which were exposed yesterday.

  19. tsgh says:

I agree Potter, I noticed that during the match…

Its the the first time it has happened to be honest but maybe MA08 is not strong enough as a leader… I choose to see it as an ego trip from a younger player who sees himself as a better player maybe 😉

He had a similar issue with Poldi in pre-season too…

  20. rico says:

That’s worrying then, our players don’t do that sort of thing normally…

Thanks Mo, or why not start Theo? We have lacked pace, he’s back but sits on the bench. Doesn’t make sense..

  21. chubby says:

Everton time wasting and petty fouls, they work hard and flood midfield with bodies.Ref should have got a grip.Arsenal slow out of the blocks…Monreal to start

  22. rico says:

More reason to be disappointed after yesterday. Great start, I just hope it can continue.

G24, we certainly need a striker in Jan..

  23. MO11 says:

Rico because I think Serge offers more and Theo doesn’t look 100%. Serge when he has played so far has been impressive and has earned has chance and a big like that could bring out the best in him

  24. emma says:

    Morning everyone,

Wenger should make a bold decision on wilshere. It’s either he is left on the bench or rotated with ramsey to give him a rest. I wouldn’t want to play him on the flank. Theo and Serge should be used on the rhs. In the last 2/3years that’s what has cost us with some players not wanting to defend. Jenks did very well yesterday despite Wilshere hanging him dry on his own. Serge hasn’t put a foot wrong whenever he has played. I remember stoke, swansea and his cameo at OT. Probably Wenger has a plan who Knows

Well for Giroud I have always said he is backup striker. He is not the kind of striker that can make something happen out of nothing. Unfortunately we can’t get such a striker in Jan. We will have to go with what we have and hope that it’s enough to win the league at the end of the season.

As for the goal I thought Gibbs had it covered. How the ball managed to find it’s way thru the pocket of space beats my thinking.

It’s a wakeup call. Hopefully this match has setup us up for an interesting encounter at manshitty. Am i the only one thinking it’s good we drew otherwise we would have gone to manshitty with 7pts cushion and probably not turn up. We will go there with the mentality that we can’t afford to lose and pinch the 3pts before their very eyes 😉

  25. rico says:

Either for me Mo, both give us pace and width, something we seriously lack… Gnabry though does drive into the box like Ox does and causes defenders problems…..

  26. emma says:

rico – Cazorla has being average after his injury. Thought this could be the season we see the best of him but it’s turning out the opposite. They say form is temporary and class is permanent hopefully he gets his Mojo soon

  27. rico says:

That’s my point emma, but still Jack is seen to be the one who is messing things up in midfield..

I’m hoping that the second part of the season, the injured and those struggling a bit now turn their game around as they are going to need to.

Also, Giroud is struggling a bit, and that’s because of the workload his been given.

Now we are starting to see exactly why not signing a striker in the summer was a very poor move..

  28. MO11 says:

The problem with SC19 is that he is playing out wide and isn’t getting that free role he had last season and early this season where he played brilliant. If you think back to our 2nd league game against Fulham away SC19 was outstanding but he was playing the free role since hes been pushed out wide he hasn’t been as good that could be that he is getting used to it or that its just not going to work. I really think that we need to give Serge more of a run because we defo need the pace and the width and I just hope that yesterday acts as a wake up call, but guys lets be honest who really thought we would beat Everton, Shity, and the Chavs. I just wanted us to beat the weakest on paper of the three and give us a good start to the month. Lets just hope that this is a wake up call for us and AW mixs it a bit.

One thing I find with AW is that when things are working well he just thinks regardless of who we play we should just keep playing the same way, the problem with that is its far to predictable and Martinez is a good manager and has always caused us problems and that was with Wigan. He now has a good team even if the best of those players are loanees and AW should have known this and mixed it up and gave them something to think about.

  29. tsgh says:

MO11, SC11 has always been a winger though so I am not sure how he has to get used to that role…

If we cast our mind back, he was removed from the free role because he was struggling there at the beginning of this year.
TR07 came in and pushed us over the line to finish in the CL position…

I think he is just tired from not having a summer off… he will be back to his best maybe not to score the 12 goals he scored last season..

  30. rico says:

Mo, you have a point about AW playing the same old way, most times this season it’s worked but others, not.

We can’t afford to approach the Chelsea game in the same way we did the CO Cup game but, I bet we do…

  31. tsgh says:

I think the fans are panicking more than the footballers… I hope it does not transcend onto the players…

A draw against Everton is not too bad at this stage.

The way I see it if Liverpool win on the weekend and we draw at least we still remain 3 points above 2nd place liverpool having played the top teams all away apart from Chelsea… 😉

  32. MO11 says:

We haven’t played Liverpool away, Everton away and Spuds away. I know Spuds aren’t a top team but its a derby and anything can happen.

  33. MO11 says:

Rico I hope he bloody doesn’t Shity and Chavs will try do exactly what Everton done to us and thats why we need to change it others I think we will find it tough

  34. tsgh says:

You are right MO, my bad…, we played Liverpool at home; but normally we struggle against Everton and Liverpool at home and win away so…

Half way down the season, considering match day 1 results against AV, its not too bad imo…

  35. MO11 says:

tsgh course thats true and thats what the lads need to keep telling themselves and think if we came back from that we can come back from anything, to me last night we just seemed to bottle it apart from Ozil the midfield really scared we need to play with confidence we are top of the league for god sake.

  36. emma says:

Mo – Yesterday’s match will help the players refocus. Don’t worry we will pick all 3pts at shitty this weekend 😉

  37. rico says:

    I hope so too,

A result in Italy would pick them all up before we head off to Manchester. Not much time to rest…

  38. olumidzti2013 says:

I was also unhappy with the goal. We’ve not even settled down from our goal and it was cancelled out. I wonder why people are talking about fair result. In previous seasons, we’ve dominated games where we later lost 3 points so there’s nothing wrong if we do take 3 points despite not playing well. Although we’re 5 points ahead, the next 2 matches could exhaust it & that’s the fear.

  39. NashuaGunners says:

Man of the Match yesterday was Koscielney. Roberto Martinez must have hoped the Belgian’s superior physique and muscle-power would prove too much for the Frenchman. But he was wrong. It turn out the other way. Kos immaculate display to keep Lukaku quiet for most part of the 90 minutes was incredible.

  40. NashuaGunners says:

For Everton to score yesterday Kos had to be hard done by Lukaku and created a distraction for them to scored. Even AW identified the foul inside the penalty area, but obviously Howard Webb missed it.

  41. stevepalmer1 says:

Afternoon all, A good assessment Rico, When you said disappointed i felt that described yesterday well.
I tend to look at our team on the same lines as you do your Hen’s, once that egg has been produced that’s them done for the day, but i assume they lay every day, where our boys don’t. Games like yesterday come along a bit to often for me when your talking of winning the league, even with hens they do miss now and again and if you get an upset in the coup i suppose you have Bacon for breakfast. Our players have substitutes that if they have a non laying day can be replaced, but try telling your hens they only have ten minutes to produce. As i said i feel we have too many bad days and with the strength of our squad i find that unusual, but when you go round and collect your eggs and a couple are missing how long do you give them before you accept that its not going to happen. How many times do you allow a bad pass to go before you replace and why does it have to take seventy minutes to decide. Hens can go off by just a little scare, and i tend to think our team are very similar.

  42. BrainwashedKev says:

    There ya go Gavin…

    Champions vs Middlesex

    January 4th,

    5.15pm ko….

Middlesex get approx 9,000 tickets for the match , so we’ll have to fume gate the stadium afterwards to get the smell out from the unwashed of N17…

  43. agirlagunner says:

Boo!! Still feels like two points lost to me as well. Hope we don’t capitulate v. Citeh in like manner.

I certainly hope we top our CL Group; would give our players a boost for Saturday, not to mention we won’t be facing the big guns just yet. I’m sure en route to winning the CL, it is bound to happen, but I’d rather meat Bayern later rather than sooner. 😀 😀

  44. agirlagunner says:

SSP, little to disagree with there. TO be fair, we’ve gotten rid of a good number of bad chickens. 😉

rico, would you really have bacon for brekkie? 😛

  45. agirlagunner says:

Haha. I thought you did cos you didn’t comment on it. 😛

Maybe a few key injuries to BM, rico. 😀 One of my favorite memories from our CL campaign last year was the shell-shocked look on Neuer’s face Giroud scored early. I had a feeling they thought we were there for the taking. He looked even worse after Loscielny scored a second. 🙂

  46. AndrewH says:

All feels a bit flat doesn’t it? Not sure it ought to. Maybe not quite so confident for Satutdays game with little recovery time.

  47. rico says:

I must concentrate more sometimes agag 😉

Injuries would be nice. Just hope we can get something in Italy…

  48. agirlagunner says:

Andrew, but there a backs-to-the wall urgency about our players when the sked is tough so I think we would be up for it on Saturday. Plus, we don’t do so badly against Citeh and we’ve been pretty even with them for the last three seasons.

  49. rico says:

It does Ah, conceding a goal so late on is hard to take. Especially after we had weathered the storm during the first 40 mins..

  50. rico says:

Welcome olumidzti2013, sorry for the delay in getting on..

He’s bound to agag, we just have to make sure we stop him. Score early, that’s what we need…

Nipping off for dinner now, back shortly..

  51. Scott from Oz says:

    Morning all.
Rico, i do agree that under the circumstances we should have held on, but i won’t admit that to you 🙂 🙂 🙂
Still can’t believe that guy took the shot and not the cross…incredible.
Right now, i want a result v Citeh and Chelski,
2 draws would be acceptable, but we can not lose either game.
A win and a draw would be sensational.
    2 wins….heavenly.

  52. Gonerjoe says:

I think we can rest players for Naples they don’t seem to able to defend. Lost one and drew the other in the last two home games conceding 3 goals in both matches.

  53. rico says:

I’ve just been watching a gardening programme Potter, part of it was filmed in your part of the country…

  54. rico says:

Gj, I can’t see AW taking any risks on Weds, he wants the CL more than the PL imho…

I reckon he’ll start his strongest side..

  55. Gonerjoe says:

Why does it seem that it’s only Theo that seems to score one on ones. Even with not being as good Everton in the first 30 mins they had no shots on target in the entire first half. As you wrote Rico we had 3 very very good chances to score and should scored at least 2.

  56. rico says:

Gj, surely some credit has to go to Howard for coming off his line quickly?

Gibbs was unlucky not to get a touch not to get on the score sheet…

  57. Gonerjoe says:

I always feel a missed one on one should go down a very good chance and if you look at Ozil’s goal he went high in to the goal.
If Giroud and Ramsey had gone high they would have scored.

  58. Gonerjoe says:

Not sure Everton’s love in, in the press and radio world today puzzles me they had very good 30 mins at the start. But they made very little in the way of chances. The goal they scored will be a goal of month contender and your right Gibbs should have been a lot closer and still not sure how it got past Szes

  59. stevepalmer1 says:

Although Sundays game was disappointing i feel that we should still be upbeat, yes we have a few tough games coming up but should those games go the wrong way we still have the second half of the season to come after Christmas. Podolski Oxlaid Chamberlain Sanogo Gnabry Eisfield and the rest that we have not seen to much of in the first half. Viviani you know the guy the Italian who stands between the sticks his legs are as fresh as they have always been the Ox well rested Gnabry has hardly broke sweat and Eisfield wrapped up in cotton wool Theo still hasn’t broke sweat so when you look round we still have almost a team that hasn’t kicked a ball yet and were 5 points clear at the top, Yes we missed a good chance yesterday but there will be others we have fresh legs for the run in so players who look as if they are flagging a bit could take a couple of week recouperating and things shouldn’t change too much. and of course we now have Bendtner firering on all cylinders. yes, things don’t look that bad at all, and who knows perhaps Akpon will get a chance.

  60. Gonerjoe says:

Just a point seems bit wrong to me that an established PL team can have 3 lone players starting in PL matches.

  61. stevepalmer1 says:

Whats wrong Gonerjoe is that those players can pay 2 games against some of the same teams then be called back to their own team and play those same teams again

  62. Joaquim Moreira says:

    hello everyone!
Everton has a fantastic team this year. They change his way of playing and they are more stronger since last 15 years.
However, like I said a few times before, we couldn’t play with Ramsey-Cazorla-wilshere-Arteta and now Ozil at the same time. Last year I told somethingwith the same mean. When rosicky is in the line-up, team answer is completely different.
Ramsey is now a very strong player. So we must play in the center for not unbalance the team and the midfield. JW can’t play on the right or in the left. He his not a quickly player and tends to go always to the middle. In this movement, they are colisiosn of the space with Ramsey,Cazorla and Arteta. The result is we only play in a small area off he pitch and we loose most of the qualities off our strong midfields players. Cazorla his the same. Moreover, both play usually with the left foot.
Like last year, the midfield change when Rosicky came and the full back be incorporate in the attack mouvements.
Rosicky, caught” in the game, requires speed, takes the lead, defend, play through wide passes, requires a different pace, is a player who plays with his right foot, and the game is getting another speed and above all other depth. Furthermore, it does not occupy the spaces of the other peers, because it adapts to play the right side, unlike JW. Nop system which played the 1st part, without rising defsas laterals are harmless, except that if you climb, the defense is also uncompensated.
In summary, I think our midfield with these players, players have to do the same thing, the spoiling yourself and stealing each other space, creating “holes” in the structure of the team, shallow and very predictable .

I prefer thinking one game at a time. Wednesday there will be another fixture. Very importante for our future. Then another fixture on saturday. But first, wednesday match.

  63. stevepalmer1 says:

Yes good points JM. I don’t think its right that our full backs are doing a grand job defending but when they go forward they are left exposed as nobody is backing them up. I also get a bit annoyed that Gibbs Sagna Or jenks run their hearts out down the wing but have nobody in the box to aim at

  64. stevepalmer1 says:

With the talk i am hearing just lately about loanee’s i wondered if anybody has any thoughts about another item that has been brought up match fixing, Has it crossed anybodies mind that loaning out players to help certain teams can also help your own team at the same time especially when the loanee is in the same league. Imagine a very good player from one of the top teams who may earn vast Wages but the team he is loaned to cannot afford his wages so only pays half and the other club the other half. Now doesn’t that seem wrong that he is being paid directly for helping to stop his own teams opposition, Even reckless tackles could be seen as aiding his home team, or am i just looking for excuses..

  65. Gonerjoe says:

I have a problem with the lone system one player is bad enough but three is unfair it makes it a lot more difficult for other teams playing Everton. Then these players can’t play against their own clubs. I feel it distorts results and it’s not just Everton the player who scored the winner for Stoke on Satueday was a Liverpool player.(bad point)
It allows clubs like city and Chelsea buy players to keep them away other teams like William. It also means with players out on lone the don’t have to pay all the wages which helps them with FFP.

  66. Gonerjoe says:

    Steve
Just seen your 9.40 post and I agree with you or maybe it just finding some one else with problems with the lone system makes me feel I am not a kill joy. How about this we buy a world class striker in Jan and then lend Giroud and Bentner to Newcastle for the run in with call back clause.

Joe, if i speak the truth i am against loaning out. I feel that if you buy a player and then cannot play him you should either fit him in your own system ie reserves or sell him on. to buy and loan out seems wrong to me, Scott said the other day that a loan player who you have brought and loaned out has probably agreed with the club before signing can that be right.

  68. potter says:

The loan system has always been flawed , Currently Chelsea have 2 out, Lukaku at Everton and Moses at Liverpool, Whilst L’pool have Borini at Sunderland and Assaidi at Stoke. Citeh have Scott Sinclair at W.B.A, Southampton have Puncheon at

  69. potter says:

Palace , Graham at Hull, Spurs have Livermore at Hull . All of these players are unable to play against their parent clubs. In the past Adebayor was at Spurs

  70. Gonerjoe says:

The loan system should be for youth players under 22 and in lower leagues or in other European leagues. The lone system is another way for the money clubs to stack the league for themselves.

  71. Scott from Oz says:

I reiterate my opinion on loans…players should not be allowed to loan out players to clubs in the same league.

  72. Lee says:

All this match fixing and betting scandals is bloody unreal….Manchester police are currently investigating a punter who’s put £10 on manure winning their next game!

  73. Scott from Oz says:

The fix is obviously on 🙂
    Morning guys.
    Lee, cheers for your comments.
The poor bugger has been taken to a Sydney hospital to have tumours removed from around the spine….won’t stop things, but will ease his pain.
3-12 months…they can not be more accurate.
    He is in good spirits.

  74. Scott from Oz says:

A mate has just proven that Ricos golden haired boy that plays for Everton scored off a deflection…one person in the world picked it up…it came off Gibbs shin!!
That accounts for the top spin.

  75. Scott from Oz says:

Nah…Gooner on the road is raising money for Cancer by attending a different city of every Arsenal game of the season. He has been to America and Canada and is now here.
I am putting him up for a few nights around the new year, and we have a find raising night this weekend.

  76. rico says:

Someone on Sky Sports said similar yesterday, but I didn’t notice the deflection, was sure there was light between Gibbs and the ball…

  77. BrainwashedKev says:

Wonder if Podolski will be in the party to visit Naples, in anticipation of his involvement at Wastelands on Saturday….

    Just to freshen things up….

  78. Scott from Oz says:

    Hey Kev.
Now, we have decided…amongst all the crap going on…to put a pool in, instead of the family visit next year.
But…and it is a big butt :)….i am more than likely coming over in April or may, so Kev, if you are not standing at Heathrow with a sign for me, i will never speak to you again 🙂

  79. rico says:

I sure hope he gets his target and more Scott..

    Hi-de-hi Kev…

I wouldn’t be surprised re Podolski, he’s been in training now for a couple of weeks. 20 mins from the bench would be good if the game allows…

  80. Scott from Oz says:

He will Rico, he already has 3k from two cities here in Oz with the big one this week.
A few of us pitched in and are taking him to Melbourne for an A League game, followed by the Arsenal, then backing up the next day for a day at the Ashes 🙂

  81. Lee says:

DJ Campbell said that he is 100% innocent and is looking forward to being cleared to play in this Saturday’s1-1 draw with Millwall….
