Three points please, that’s all.

Morning all.

November 2015 seems like a long time ago now. Sunday 29th, Arsenal headed to Norwich for a 4.15pm kick off. A win and we’d have gone into second spot but it was one of those days when chances spurned cost us two points. Saying that, the home team spurned a few too and no doubt when the final whistle blew, Alex Neil’s side must have been kicking themselves for not taking all three points. How they’d love those two extra points right now as relegation is a real possibility.

At the other end of the table, how Arsenal could do with those two points too and not just those missed opportunities as the season has gone by but it is what it is right now and the scrap is on for 3rd place. Should we not secure maximum points today, Europa could still be on next seasons agenda….

Back to that day at Carrow Road. Arsenal started well as far as possession goes and Alexis was the first to drag a shot just wide of the post and soon after, Koscielny had to be replaced by Gabriel after suffering injury. Ozil saw an effort on goal cleared off the line before Giroud couldn’t quite find the right ‘flick’ – he loves those doesn’t he, but not enough go in…

Arsenal finally took the lead with a little help from the Norwich keeper. Ruddy fluffed a clearance, Alexis intercepted the ball and passed to Ozil. A little dink over the keeper and 1-0 it was, not that it stayed that way for long. 1-1 it was when Norwich hit back within minutes when Grabban fired home from close range. The home team really should have taken a 2-1 lead into half-time but Hoolahan fired a shot over the bar from close range.

Alexis was the next to suffer an injury and as he trudged off, Joel Campbell came on. Bellerin fired a shot into the side netting before Cech made a top top save to keep Bennett’s header out. Howson could have snatched all three points for the home team but again, dreadful finishing cost them dear, a bit like it has for Arsenal all season….

As said, Norwich will be fighting to avoid relegation and they’ll give their all of that we can be sure. Arsenal need to perform, they need three massive points which would go a long way to securing Champions League football.

Go and get the job done boys….

    Morning Rico

Why 3 points? And why secure Champions League football? its not like we are going to win it and all it is going to accomplish is to put more cash in the owners pocket and make change less likely.

Been following Arsenal since 1971 and for the 1st season I cannot be arsed whether we win or not. In fact if loosing may speed up the departure of the fraud then that may be the best outcome. Sometimes you need some pain before the cure.

  2. potter says:

It’s been a long few months since my own personal noisy neighbours got another chance to keep taking pops at me in my local. Really need to stuff them out of sight and send them down and get me the bragging rights once and for all.

  3. TT says:

Even if he signs the players Rico it will make no difference IMO. The guy could have the Barcelona team and he would still botch the job. Its not the personnel in the team that I consider to be the problem but the manager. I recon a decent manager would have won the title this year with the current team.

To be honest we could buy 3 or 4 world class players and in a year they would become average. Look at what has happened to Ozil and whats happening to Sanzhes.

  4. Lee says:

Wenger also defended the ambition of club owner Stan Kroenke. “We can work in complete freedom,” he said. “Every club should work with the resources it generates. He’s never stopped me in the market. He’s very ambitious. We are all very ambitious.”

  5. goonster says:

Rico am with TT we need to lose. Not just lose but scandalously. I don’t want no champions League with this tosser in charge. We ll be out in the next round. What’s the use?? We need to lose to keep up the pressure.

  6. Marshall says:

A win will be good. I’d rather we play meaningless tue/wed nights than cold thursday nights. Plus it will caress Wenger’s ego- he will be the fella who always gave us champions league yey!

  7. goonster says:

Lol Rico would you let me express myself for once maam??? Am not insulting any poster just venting. Why do you keep censoring me and deleting my posts? ?

  8. goonster says:

I didn’t write the C word did i?? That’s our agreement when we started HH. you agreed to it so why renegade on our agreement rico??

  9. andrewh1313 says:

Goonster, you know as well as I do, Champs League or not, we are bloody stuck with what we have till HE decides otherwise. That’s the depressing thing.

  10. goonster says:

Andrew what you don’t get is if we do qualify for the bloody champions league which we never tend to do well in. Bam that’s it a new contract for le senile but if we don’t maybe just maybe the board ll just let him see out his final year and let him go. We need change Andrew and we need it NOW!

  11. rico says:

The board are a bunch of toothless tigers and yes men, I doubt they’ll do anything about Arsene Wenger…

Didn’t Ivan once say that when the day comes that the club loses the backing of its fans, that’s when change will come…

  12. Adam says:

The board are just there to maintain an internal structure Rico. Abramovich has a board and has employed lots of managers but, as I understand it, he still makes major playing decisions if he doesn’t like what he is seeing.

  13. goonster says:

Oh please rico don’t buy that hogwash. The board is toothless as long as the fraud brings in money and champions League. Once that dries up they ll kick him to the curb and believe me next year we won’t make the top 6 with le senile in charge. With conte pep maureen poch and klopp you bet we ll finish 7th. Lol. The board is toothless she says.

  14. Marinello says:

    Afternoon Rico, Kev and all,
I read an article in the Evening Standard about the wage bill at Spurs being below what Chelsea, United and Arsenal and City pay. Trouble is, players are human and Harry Kane will want to earn more than £50k a week. If Spurs cannot find the extra money it will be difficult for them to hold onto players like Kane. When you see what Theo gets paid a week,
and what he does in an Arsenal shirt, none of it makes sense.
3 points today. I want to see Arsenal turn up and win convincingly.

  15. andrewh1313 says:

    >> We need change Andrew and we need it NOW!

No, we needed change a year ago!

A sensible individual would have gone out after last year’s cup final, and been respected, and the wasted years would have been largely forgotten. Now the majority of supporters (here anyway) will have a tainted angry opinion of him when he finally goes.

Now would be better than next year or god forbid further years, just cannot see it happening because we lose a few matches. Surely once kickoff starts, you wont cheer a Norwich goal?

  16. Micko says:

Two wins at home sandwiched by a loss at Citeh next week will secure 4th !

Stan, try French surrender monkey, works for me every time.

  17. goonster says:

Micko I don’t do French mate wenger has made me abhor everything French. I might nail a big blossomed French bird though 😀

  18. Gd10 says:

I could never ever actively hope for an arsenal loss.

Unless, doing so stops totts, yoonited or chavski winning a league.
    All other scenarios never.

  19. goonster says:

Andrew mate you go too far. Sensible and wenger don’t go hand in hand. We owe him remember? He formed the club in 1996 and he has the right to be here till he’s had enough. He built this club andrew. What a nutjob.

  20. rico says:

I wish they were younger and more dynamic Adam…. Agree re Roman, he seems a bit more proactive than Stan and reactive.. Lol

  21. goonster says:

Adam you wimp 😀 see that’s why me and Lee are like blood brothers. No one understands me like him. Hey brudder Lee give him hell for me slugger 😀

  22. rico says:

Afternoon Marinello. That’s just what the panel were saying at lunchtime and at a time when they’ll need to be careful with money, they could be forced to sell…

  23. Adam says:

Rico. I imagine there are lots of things that go on behind the scenes at board level. A lot of schmoozing and the old school tie etc. I do believe that the stadium was built on the back of a lot of schoolboys being roasted before open fires.

  24. goonster says:

What ll I give for Norwich to score around the 10th minute. Lol the 12th minute protest ll get really fruity. I ll literally love to see that old crone shit himself live on TV. Lol come on Norwich put le senile out of his misery.

  25. rico says:

Stan, you really are pushing hard for a spell in moderation…. If you can’t be behind the players and club, why bother?

  26. goonster says:

Lol Rico we need shitty to beat Southampton and Norwich to do us in. Why do you keep clamoring for the champions League. I have it on record that you don’t even rate the competition. So many times you ve written it off for the PL title so why this time??? What ll we achieve by qualifying that we haven’t in the past 20???

  27. goonster says:

Get behind a man that blames me and every gooner for the club’s crisis??? Are you kidding me? Did you not see his press conference yesterday? Get behind who??

  28. goonster says:

You won’t let me curse. You won’t let me and ts talk about dortmund. Now you won’t let me express myself??? What’s the deal rico?

  29. rico says:

I don’t rate the champions league Goonie and I’m not fussed about it but the best players do, they all want to be in the competition which is the reason I hope we get 3rd.

Get behind the club and the players is what a true fan does on matchday….

  30. goonster says:

I ve been here since the inception of this blog. Have I ever had any problem with you or any blogger? Why can’t you just let me express myself? Am not hurting anyone. Am i??

  31. rico says:

Chill out Stan, maybe wishing harm on Wenger was a step to far, as were other comments directed at Wenger. I want him to go too, but name calling him every day won’t do any good, nor will hoping Arsenal lose…

  32. goonster says:

Rico 3rd 4th 5th or 15th what difference does it make?? Fucking leceister city are winning the league and we re 13 points off, behind leceister rico. Leceister!!! Don’t you get it?? Qualifying for the champions League ll only paper up the cracks. I ll rather take a mid table finish with a fresh approach than a top 3 with le loser in charge. He’s washed up rico. Look at the players are his disposal. Ozil Sanchez cech kozzer and see the players Ranieri is winning the league with. Yet you want him to stay on. Are freaking kidding me?

  33. goonster says:

My only consolation this season is the spuds blew up their title challenge mid week. Seriously how would we have survived if those inbred scums had won the league??? They ll invade every Arsenal blog just to rile us all up. Wenger needs to go maam. He’s been here for too long. We haven’t had a convincing win in a while. We always struggle to put 2 good performances together. I ll take Bournemouth manager howe over wenger anyday.

  34. Adam says:

I can’t see that personal abuse is remotely productive myself although I can sort of see where it comes from. Quite the opposite inside the ground actually where it is a positive hinderence to the performance of the team.

  35. goonster says:

Well you sound like you want him to stay maam 😀 you always blame kroenke whereas the problem lies solely on le fraud. I didn’t see Kroenke telling elneny not to shoot or playing Sanchez into the ground during the early part of the season. Joel Campbell has been one of the shining lights this season but what did wenger do once his babies are back from injury?? Sends the poor chap back to the reserves.

  36. goonster says:

Adam these guys are men. They get paid millions annually. If they can’t take a few jibes in their direction because it’s hampers their performance then whoop di do. They are in the wrong profession then. Fucking lily livered wimps just like their prick faced manager.

  37. goonster says:

What can be more hostile than anfield may 16 1989. Seriously. You were there adam. Did you see our boys bat an eyelid. No!!! They went about it like true professionals. We needed to win by 2 clear goals and by George we got it. Those are men we ll bleed to support. We had an arsenal legend as manager. Those guys bleed for the shirt. FUCK wenger and his over pampered softies.

  38. rico says:

I have never solely blamed Kroenke Goonie, do you ever read comments or are you too busy typing your next insulting comment towards Wenger?

  39. Adam says:

if you think insults are constructive Stan, then that’s up to you. It’s just not for me as I would prefer an intelligent debate. Abuse just clouds the issues.

  40. Gd10 says:

Come on now. Wenger us a lot of things but this abuse is a bit out if order.

Do you honestly believe he’s deliberately sabotaging our club? if that’s the case then abuse would be warranted.

But he’s not. He’s just a past it old manager who can’t see where he’s going wrong and that he should leave. I believe he thinks he’s the right man for the job and believes he’s doing his best.

He’s just the old office worker who insists on using fax instead of email.

He deserves pity. Not abuse IMO.

    Protest yes. Personal attacks no.

  41. goonster says:

Lol Adam always the gentleman 😀 why you little…. Adam you remind me of Neville chamberlain but am sorry mate we need a Winston Churchill right now. Diplomacy haven’t worked in ages. Fuck that. It’s time for war. No more appeasement. We need to hit him while he’s down. Get it over with. Man Where’s Lee when you need him?? 😀

  42. goonster says:

GD10 he deserves worse compadre. Am sorry I can’t type it here rico ll just moderate the hell out of it 😀 lol but he does deserve worse than abuses.

  43. goonster says:

He deserves pity??? Hahahahahahah for 8 million a year?? Jesus Christ in heaven. Am in the wrong business 😀

  44. Adam says:

Stan. Again you are confusing what I think with the way I express myself. If you ask Kev he will tell you that I have been advocating the end of Arsene’s reign since the day he and I met several years ago. Just because I don’t call him a c…t and a wanker every day and abuse him doesn’t mean that I support his continuing as manager.

  45. goonster says:

Come on Adam you know am just riling you up. Lol 😀 I know what you meant just too befuddled to think clearly to change my mind. You know I ll do anything for you mate. If you want me to go to wanker’s dressing room and lick his balls….for you I will :D.

  46. goonster says:

You see how divided the gooner support is?? Just hop on Twitter and see the vile treats and counter threats folks fling at each other. He has divided the club guys and if he continues it ll only get worse. A war in the stands is eminent. I see a lot of injuries and possibly death. He needs to step down NOW.

  47. goonster says:

You better kev I ve been following some of them for years and they are at boiling point now. Expect them to explode some time in the future. Be afraid kev be very afraid. Lol

  48. goonster says:

Lol I see what’s going on here. Stevie wonder huh?? Alright then. I ll be waiting. You can’t keep it up till the game ends can ya.

  49. Rick says:

    Afternoon Rico and the House
Nice sunny day down south Rico and I just do not know how you keep your cool
Kev sorry I have not responded re Nketiah but I will do so .
He has finished the season in great style by scoring a hat-trick in the last game against the spuds The game finished 3-3 and we concided 2own goals

Eketiah finished with 24 and only a chelsea player can stop him from finishing Top scorer.
Enjoy the game Kev See you later.

  50. goonster says:

Adam you and kev are trying to swat the discussion to something else. Kev you crafty old goat. Lol I know nothing about Stevie wonder so I won’t venture a comment but when the game starts I ll be waiting for y’all 😀

  51. Adam says:

I don’t think so Stan. Music is a constant thing to chat about for Kev and I and let’s face it, there was no discussion really was there? We all have our own views about the manager but, at this moment, it’s a wait and see what happens next situation.

  52. Rick says:

I hear the crossbar was still shaking 10 mins after the game finished .Was his shot that hard ? and what do you think of Isaac’s performance?

  53. goonster says:

Lol Rico see what I mean?? He’s so full of shit. Hey news flash wanker you won’t last 6 months anywhere else. You old windbag. God in this guy arrogance knows no bounds.

  54. rico says:

He belted it good and hard.. Unlucky not to score..

I didn’t pay much attention to the game to be honest Rick, just background noise whilst on here…

  55. malaga gooner says:

    Afternoon Rico and the house

the statements Wenger comes out with are getting desperate.

So the stadium would never have got built with out him

  56. allezkev says:

Stan, as Adam said, we chat music all the time, and as if I’d try to divert you off of your flow… ?

    Newcastle have just scored
    Sunderland losing.
    How will this effect Norwich?

Cheers Rick, fancy conceding two own goals – wallies…

  57. rico says:

Giroud can’t hit a barn door.

Iwobi starts yet another game so he’ll soon be injured!

Ramsey starts after being dreadful in his last game while Campbell is ignored yet again… As is Welbeck who is quicker than Ollie and much more lively…

    Beggars belief…..

  58. Gd10 says:

Word to the wise. Never take what the press report for gospel.

Always always read the full transcript or watch the full interview

The press smell blood and are twisting everything ATM.

  59. Wavy says:

8 minutes gone and from Arsenal all we have had is crab soccer! Norwich quick, direct and dangerous! Arsenal slow, ponderous and predictable.
Am I spending my time productively watching the same old boring garbage?

    Come on Arsenal excite me?

  60. rico says:

Well that protest didn’t do much good. In fact all it did was wake up the ‘There’s only one Arsene Wenger’ fans…

  61. Wavy says:

Our midfielders remind me of three Denilsons! They are so unimanative and recently so inaccurate!

Elneny shoots, he’s outside the area, it’s deflected!

    Be still my quaking heart!

  62. Marshall says:

    *Definitely for grammar nazis here.

Desicions like Ramsey and Giroud starting no matter how shit they are are what brings a ‘hostile environment’ in the Emirates.

  63. Joaquim Moreira says:

    always the same.
    Is Ramsey in the pitch?
Why we not play with two central forwards?
all the players played in the middle when we were close the area only Giroud is there between 3.-4 defenders…

  64. Wavy says:

    I’m surprised I’m still awake!

He may well have built the stadium, single handed but he certainly hasn’t built a team, well not recently! What has become of the real Arsenal???

  65. andrewh1313 says:

Its the fans fault we are rubbish! Its the fans fault that Giroud and Ramsey are selected after last week. Fans fault we havent tested goalie in 45 minutes. Arsene Knows … i cant say it

  66. Wavy says:

59 minutes, first shot on goal! Scored admittedly but….ffs!
I’m really not impressed. If the old geezer says at any point that he thought Giroud played well, I’ll line up a lynching party!

Are we good enough to secure 3 points? Well we’ll see!

  67. Gd10 says:

No re protest at 78 mins then. Plus everyone’s gone home so no full time one.

    Thst worked well then…

  68. Micko says:

Howdy rico, desire or hunger call it want you want but it’s a great thing, well done Danny Boy, made all the difference !

Only 2 points behind the Scum.

  69. Marshall says:

Well we got the 3 points alright. Playing shit as usual. Those two protests doesn’t make arsenal an appealing brand anymore, do they?

If arsenal display was appalling wait till you hear the manager’s interview.

  70. Gd10 says:

Clever arsenal allowed Norwich to attack the whole 78th min… All that were visible on tv were the away fans until the ball went out and the camera panned to our fans for all of 5 secs. Lol

    Half baked indeed.

  71. rico says:

Marshall, I thought the protest was pathetic and tbh, I’m glad. Do it after the game so the players don’t get effected but somehow, I think today they knew it was coming…

  72. George says:

Appreciate the win but there was alot of big players acting like big #$%#$…. Ozil dissent, Sanchez straight down the tunnel…Giroud did nothing other than assist…. Ramsey and Sanchez lost the ball countless times…

we scraped it like i predicted

  73. rico says:

I think there’s going to be a lot of coming and going in the summer….

Hi George, 3 points mattered today, that’s all. The performance was just to typical of Arsenal. Poor. Didn’t like seeing Alexis strop off though but that’s him, he just wants to play… Sadly, I think he might leave…

  74. Marshall says:

Sanchez has been poor though. He still looses possession easy.

Yes Rico, they are pathetic. But for once I wanted Wenger to know a huge chunk of the fans are fed up with how the club is being run.

  75. rico says:

George, I think a lot will depend on what Wenger does in the transfer window. I hope both stay of course but who knows…

Marshall, I think he’s already knows, regardless of what went on today. After all, he’s been questioned about it for the last few weeks…

  76. Joaquim Moreira says:

posted 6:28: “why we not play with two central forwards?” . Welbeck came in. Five minutes later: first shot at the goal :1-0. Giroud-Wellbeck. It was difficult to understand this?
It’s difficult to understand if the other team defend in the last 20 meters with everyboduy, if we only play in the middle, if we haven’t wingers, if we aren’t speed enought, we must play with two players in the area?
    The fans are completely split!
    More comments tomorrow

  77. Micko says:

Jm, it’s all about grinding out results now, it ain’t pretty.

70% possession 1st half and not a shot on target.

Danny comes on with half an hour to spare to save our blushes, man of the match performance, have to ask why didn’t he start !

Giroud, his confidence is shot to pieces, hasn’t scored in over 14 hours for us now.

Leicester having to go to Old Trafford to win the league tomorrow, what’s the big deal, it’s not like it hasn’t been done before !!!

  78. potter says:

Just back from a turgid day. Could have probably should have stayed at home. The protests and the reaction of Arsene’s supporters shows how badly it was explained. The first one was quite lighthearted but by the time the second came round things had turned and arguments were rife. Can’t see it getting any better the sides are too deeply entrenched. Changes are needed but doing it this way although gaining publicity probably will have a negative effect. Interesting to hear that the television perception was that it was a failure because from where I was the lower tier seemed to be split 75 / 25 which is not an inconsiderable amount.

  79. joe says:

Wenger out protest fell on its face today and maybe if the idiots who wanted Wenger out spent more time supporting the team than holding up stupid signs we would have had better results at home

  80. rico says:

    Morning Adam and all..

Had a frost overnight but lovely and sunny now. I suspect a big storm is brewing over there… lol

  81. Wavy says:

Morning all. Azure sky above, lovely. There deep black clouds massing in the south, however.

Today has started well but what will tomorrow bring?

  82. Adam says:

It is Rico. Reading through the blogs and speaking to those at the game yesterday, it seems that the world outside Arsenal can only see the problem in the most basic (for or against) terms. It is a lot more nuanced than that and just because most people didn’t hold up posters yesterday it doesn’t mean to say that they are happy with the way things are and the future, as far as we can predict it. There is a debate to be had but the press are desperate to set the agenda. Calling those that chose to hold the banners ‘idiots’ isn’t going to help anyone. They feel impotent and would like to be heard.
As for yesterday’s game? Well, it was truly and utterly pathetic.

  83. potter says:

Morning Joe :- Idiot speaking , Did I hold a banner yesterday ? no , Do I want Wenger gone ? yes , Why did I not hold a banner ? because I was watching the game . Why do I want Wenger gone ? Because I was watching the game.which is the same answer. To all of you that can’t see the wood beyond the trees I have to ask whether you took any enjoyment from watching that turgid display of non interesting football. Did you take the time to read what Red Action and BSM had to say before the day or like most of the people for and against in my area did you take your lead from the social and traditional media and form your opinions from there.
The purpose was :- Time for change , and the changes were in relation to much more than just the Wenger out situation. In fact a seven point missive and I would ask all the people that I won’t call idiots but whose logic I question to actually read the points and consider whether they feel that there is some merit in some of the points.
To make things easy for you here are the points.

Our majority shareholder, Stan Kroenke, showing he’s purely motivated by cash when he went on record to say he doesn’t care if Arsenal are not challenging for honours.
A complacent Board with absolutely no football experience, focusing purely on Arsenal as a profit-generating entity, not a football club.
A Board happy with Kroenke milking millions of pounds out of the club every year, and refusing to give valid details of what the payments relate to.
Being sold the vision of moving stadium to compete with Europe’s elite, but (apart from revenue and profit) we’re now probably further away from the big clubs in Europe than we were before moving stadium.
A huge amount of cash sitting in the bank and comments from Ivan Gazidis that we can buy pretty much anybody, yet the money remains banked and our squad remains lacking in key areas, year after year.
A manager who seems to be past his best, refusing to adapt to the modern game and dragging us down through lack of signings, poor tactics, predicatable (and often very poor) performances, and not being able to get the best from his team.
Consistent failure to challenge for football’s big prizes and using 4th place finishes as a cause for celebration, when all Champions League football means is more income for the Board to celebrate.

Basically speaking, Arsenal Football Club has gone stale.
I would add from my personal view that so has the football that frustratingly we suffer to watch.

  84. allezkev says:

    Morning All.

    Morning Rico
    Morning Adam

From where I was sitting – well standing actually, the demo was a damp squib, about 1 in 15 held up posters…

Nobody was arguing and there was a guy in front of me with a poster and another couple dotted around, we kind of felt it was uncomfortable airing our grievances in public, even if most of us wanted change.

I went into the Rocket before the game and there was a guy at the door distributing the Time for Change poster, so I guess that plenty were given out. I was given one as was my son but we just chucked them. It all felt a bit odd…

As for the game, well Elneny, Ozil and Cech played well…

After about 30 minutes I had to ask if Ramsey was playing…

Tbh, the sooner this season comes to an end, the better. We all need time away from Arsenal and Euro 2016 could be just the distraction we need not least a summer where the Press are focusing on England and not shit transfer rumours which wind-us-up…

  85. rico says:

It won’t help at all Adam. In fact calling fellow fans idiots regardless of which side of the fence they sit, does little good either…

The club is in a mess imo and things need sorting out as soon as the season ends but with Wenger going off to the Euros, what will be done I wonder. Nothing I’d imagine…

  86. rico says:

Good comment Potter and spot on imo…

Morning Kev, I’ll be looking forward to the cricket myself although I may take a peep at the Euros just to keep an eye on the players AW signs early in the transfer window… 😉

Ramsey was very poor again as was Giroud. We often say how playing Walcott is like playing with ten men but with those two on the pitch yesterday, it was like playing with nine….

Tbh Rico, if Wenger goes to the Euros or sits indoors all summer, it shouldn’t matter, the club has enough staff to facilitate transfers without Wenger being on hand 24/7. All he needs to do is answer his phone and say Oui or Non, hopefully it’ll be the former.

  88. Joe says:

OK calling someone an idiot may be very harsh but I wrote that post last night after watching a video of 14 or so Arsenal fans holding up a large banner outside the stadium singing a chant which ended with the line they hoped Wenger died in may.

  89. Adam says:

Rico. There comes a time when things become self-evident. We are deep in the mire for sure. Anybody watching the team’s displays this season can be in no doubt about that. How many times have we played well this season? It has been rubbish and a tale of under-achievement and disappointment. Is there really any debate to be had about that?
I agree with Potter. I would like to see Arsene leave because he isn’t doing a very good job and the club simply must strive to be better. The shambles on the field yesterday and for the vast majority of the season is ample testament to how bad it has got and to view where we are by citing the failure of the other ‘big’ clubs is dumb and totally counter productive.
The feeling in the ground yesterday when it was realised that Giroud and Ramsey were starting was shocking. If the board want to treat us as customers and ignore the deep feelings that some fans have for the club, then at least put on a decent show because, generally, this season has been bloody awful. Whose responsibility is that?

  90. rico says:

Kev, hopefully he’ll just give Ivan a list of players and back up players that he wants and stays out of things after that. But as far as all the other stuff going on, he’s got a few big decisions to make I’d think…

  91. rico says:

That kind of stuff really cheeses me off Joe. I want a change of manager but to wish him harm is disgraceful imo…

  92. rico says:

I agree Adam, I’m not sure how anyone can defend the kind of football we are playing, nor the team selection and substitutes.

It truly has been awful this season and worse than ever yet we don’t really have a bad squad. It lacks a few yes, but on paper, it’s not ‘that’ bad…..

  93. Joe says:

Potter I read your piece very insightful and well reasoned and I agree with a lot of it but for the moment I feel Wenger should get my support and respect.
By the way the football is dreadful and we should have won the pl this season and for a change it wasn’t the results against the top four clubs.
It was the results against the bottom six and this is hard to take even if you are someone who believes Wenger time at the club has not run its course.

  94. Wavy says:

Rain? Somebody’s reign will be coming to an end sooner rather than later, I think! But it won’t be at the end of this season!

  95. Adam says:

Rico. There will always be those people who lash out stupidly. As far as a great influx of players this summer goes? I think we had just about enough to win the PL this year as we have done in the past. For me, signing the world’s best will make little difference. The club is stale. It smells and feels out of touch. Players that we know are good look laboured and disinterested. There seems no motivation and little desire. Arsene’s time is up, whichever way you look at it. What has he done this season that suggests otherwise?

  96. rico says:

I know Adam but wishing AW dead just shows what kind of people some of the fans are, it’s disgraceful imo.

As for the rest, you know I agree, AW is past it and I think the players know it too…

  97. Adam says:

Again Rico, I take that to be self evident. Is it the case that we have won only a single one of the eight London derbies this year? I know it doesn’t suit Arsene’s increasingly flaky narrative but it must be relevant. If he stays next season then he will surely sign another contract, judging from his past comments anyway.

  98. Joe says:

Rico morning, as you may of noticed I haven’t been posting recently the reason for that is that I have lost any enthusiasm for this season.
Because of our results whether this is because we just haven’t played well enough or other reasons.
As for the idiot post that came because I was angry and a little drunk but it’s strange that all the condemnation I got was for using the word idiot no one condemned the chant.

  99. rico says:

Adam, he can only sign a new one if it’s offered. I live in hope that an offer of a new contract won’t be there for him, not this time…

The derby results have been awful….

  100. rico says:

To be honest Joe, I wasn’t really aware that fans were saying such things and I’d never condone such stuff as you can see…

‘Idiot’ probably touches the nerves of fans who go to The Emirates because it kind of suggests every fans is part of the protest yet as Potter, Kev and Adam explained, they weren’t.

Tensions are high right now I guess, especially as it looks like nothing will change in the summer…

  101. rico says:

    🙂 Joe, I doubt it’s just you and I. Most sensible fans/people wouldn’t condone such stuff…

    New post up now…
