Morning all.

Two years ago today, we signed Ollie…..

So the flops arrived home yesterday and were welcomed home by just four England fans according to the newspaper reports! Can you blame the lack of greeting after that dismal showing?

No, neither can I and if those England fans who went to Brazil to support the team had any sense, they’ll still be enjoying the sunshine, sea and maybe a bit of decent football…

But I guess the England players won’t be too upset, especially knowing that they can now go off on their own family holiday and all with a brand spanking new X-Box courtesy ofΒ a sponsorship deal involving XBox manufacturer Microsoft. Oh goodie!

Sarcasm aside, Jack Wilshere has spoken out about the future of not only himself but for all the younger players who have been involved in this World Cup:

It’s easy for me to stand here and say we’re young and we can go forward, but if you look at a team like Germany,Β they’veΒ got young players who are delivering now.

Time is running out for us to say we’re young. I’ll be 23 in January and that’s a good age for a footballer. Ross Barkley and Raheem Sterling are good young players.

Luke Shaw looked like he had played over a hundred games for his country. He was just natural. They showed in this tournament what they can do. But in the next tournament, we really have to deliver.

It’s a nice group of young players and hopefully we can stick together, learn from this, take all this disappointment and bottle it up. This is the worst feeling.

He’s right, it is time for England to start delivering but for now, it’s over. Between now and the Euros in 2016, surely Roy Hodgson has to move on with the younger players and leave the old has been’s at home….

Last night saw Bosnia batter Iran 3-1, both countries are now on their way home.

Argentina just edged out Nigeria 3-2 in what I thought was an entertaining game. Messi, well he’s something else isn’t he.

Argentina will now face Switzerland in the knock-out stages after they defeated Honduras 3-0.

Nigeria will face France in the next round. Giroud’s side could only manage a 0-0 draw with Ecuador and Antonio Valencia was sent off in that match for an awful challenge on Lucas Digne. Down to ten, Ecuador had little hope of getting the win they needed to progress.

Tonight see’s the group stage come to an end with the final four fixtures:

Portugal v Ghana
USA v Germany
Algeria v Russia
South Korea v Belgium

I’m looking forward to the Germany game….

Have a great day all, the sun is just starting to peep through the clouds here… Nice!
