Talks for Spanish icon begin, smoke and mirrors….

Morning All,

Another day yet again of names of players linked, Agents comments, newspaper “exclusives” and of course the great “twitter” in the know comments from in the know nobodies…..!

What are we to think and believe..?

Well we’re now told Arsene has personally spoken to Spain’s number one keeper Iker Casillas to tell him how great he is and to obviously tell him that we think he’s a great keeper despite his nightmare world cup. In all honesty it’s the kind of thing that we want the manager doing if he has identified a target and the deal is close, the manager is there to persuade players to join us, to tell them his vision and maybe of other targets we are looking at buying to strengthen the side. If I am honest Casillas to me looks like a keeper who needs a new challenge and a new environment, he has gone stale at Mardid, i think if we are all honest we’d all admit that Casillas was a brilliant keeper, you don’t just lose that. Is Jose responsible for him loosing his confidence ? Was being dropped so terrible that he’s questioned his own ability, Arsene has in the past been very good at getting the best from players who looked short of confidence and players who at previous clubs had struggled. It could be a good buy, lets see how that one pans out.

Depending on what papers you read or what website or twitter account the players linked with us could fill a book, The usual subjects are filling the back pages of the papers and there are of course agent comments which can be read in two ways, firstly the agent wants his client to leave the club they currently play for or in most cases the agent is stirring the pot just to get his client a new and improved deal with the club they are currently at due to the fact his client is so “wanted”.
Then of course you get the chairman or presidents of clubs getting involved by stating no offers have been received for player “X”….. If an offer had been received he isn’t for sale…. That’s the club saying publicly they are for sale but anyone who is interested better make a huge offer.

We all know it’s smoke and mirrors this time of the year and as fans we want to know that Arsenal are looking at star players and even more importantly than a star name that we’re looking at buying quality players. We invest our time and feelings in getting excited by certain stories and we’re upset when player “A” signs for a team and it looks as if we have lost out but reality is were we ever interested in player “A” in the first place. The media write stories that we have missed out on this player and that player yet reality is 99% of these players named were never ever wanted by us, it sells papers and gets internet hits to make it up though.

We have all said this is a huge transfer window for the club and many still think we will fail yet again, we have a team in place to buy players that are just not streetwise and savvy enough to close deals, they are stubborn and set in their ways yet we bought Ozil, we’re told those negotiations went on for months, Maybe just maybe the club at the very top have realised how they need to act, lets hope so and lets hope we manage to sign up two or three of these quality players we are linked with.

Also a very happy July 4th to those on the other side of the pond…!

Have a good day…………

    Morning all,

    Good post mate.

It all comes down to “i’ll believe it when it’s on the Arsenal website and the player is wearing the Arsenal shirt”

  2. Wath says:

You only think 1 or 2 signings winner… I hope your wrong because if your right then that’s not enough…!

  3. snaparse says:

morning to you wath….was just saying on the other post what a brilliant work you have done this past few days cheers to u…….like you I believe the manager should always try as much as possible to sell the dream to our targets as it is not all the players that move clubs for money alone

  4. Woody says:

    Quiet today!

What’s in store for today then? More speculation and no action…just as I thought.

I don’t want to be negative but it just feels like one long transfer window, spanning about 15 years, when ur a gooner.

    Bored bored bored

  5. Wath says:

Always the same Nickie, when a player on the pitch posing with the shirt then it’s a done deal…!

  6. tsgh says:

As I was saying on the previous page Campbell a freebie and Pires an OM failure were signed about now 13 years ago…

It’s always been the AFC way… I am not saying I agree with the approach but…

  7. tsgh says:

Manchester United: Luke Shaw + Ander Herrera = £64 million Chelsea: Cesc Fabregas + Diego Costa = £60 million

Yanited after S and Vidal too at £70M…

Barca to confirm £80M signing of LS07 soon…

So how is it that Barca weren’t allowed to sign players and LS07 is banned from participating in football related matters but a deal is apparently on? the only issue left now is the Partnership agreement between Liverpool & Barca.

  8. Wath says:

Thanx Snap, the posts are just a load of healines from the media thrown together in a mish mash….!

I agree the manager is there to sell the club and the vision to players we looking to buy, he not there to do the actual deals or the negotiating…! That’s what’s been wrong since DD left or since he was frog marched off the premises lol

  9. Nickie says:

Hopefully the Suarez transfer is completed soon and it causes a domino effect. This window needs to start hotting up, it’s all very dull when there is no football on.

Hi Ts, how concrete do you think these Khedira rumours are?

After the season had finished Wenger said he looks to add 2 or 3 players. We needed 2-3 player just to replace the ones leaving Sagna, Fab and possibly another CB. I really hope it’s another 2-3 on top of necessary replacements

  10. Wath says:

Woody, it’s the first week in July, relax…! lol

Ts, other players have been bought yes but hand on heart I am not upset about any of them having not joined us…! there are a cluster of players I like and when one of those joins a rival I shall be really pissed off but as yet i’m fine with the other transfers that are going on.

  11. tsgh says:

Hi Snap, your prediction for tonight?

As I said from day 1 quarter finals for Les Bleus…

Its a shame FIFA want Brazil to win the WC…

I expect bad officiating against Colombia my other latino team tonight…

I might have to change my profile photo from Valderama to James… lol

  12. Wath says:

What’s the betting after the WC is over and the hype quietens down Barca get the Suarez ban reduced….! Watch this space…!

  13. tsgh says:

Lol Spot on Wath… same here

I won’t have minded Shaw but at £17m max including add-ons.

Snap, the UNFC will wiggle out of the LS07 ban I am certain…

  14. snaparse says:

true wath but is the CEO really the type that can complete deals?? if so why isn’t he doing it already anyways it all a bit complicated so………

  15. Wath says:

Snap, I think they are busy behind the scenes and these things take time due to so many people involved and so many looking to get as much out of deals for themselves as well.

  16. tsgh says:

Nickie, I don’t know of Khedira rumours honest…

The only rumours I heard about were Balo/S and debuchy..

you remember me saying we will buy him when you said he was a bit old in early June?

Morgan AW is definitely interested in but fee will be telling due to our policy of not paying certain amounts for certain positions. Southmapton and Goonie’s friend R. Keowman are going for Witsel ,that means they would have 3 solid DM’s…

  17. snaparse says:

ts if true re the Suarez ban then it proved what will all know that uefa/FIFA is a group of corrupt thugs ruing the game

  18. tsgh says:

😀 Wath… there was me thinking it was blond; I got to have my eyes tested….
Micko sort me out with one of your dodgy spec savers vouchers please. 😉

  19. snaparse says:

ts I expect us to put on a good show and make it difficult for Germany….heard cabaye has been tasked to keep an eye on ozil…pogba needs to be disciplined today….if we play well and limit the Germans use of the middle I can see us nicking it 2;1 Lol I hope……on the other one I’m definitely supporting James have been a keen follower since his Porto days….was really impressed when he player against my boy hood team(st Etienne )let’s hope the ref doesn’t screw them over

  20. tsgh says:

If I was Deschamp I will go with Morgan, Cabaye holding with Valbeuna behind Benzema…

Matuidi neeeds to sit this out..

Cabella could cause Howedes loads of problems this evening.

I think Leow will move Lahm back to RB to keep an eye on Evra and Greizmann; Khedira will start in CM

  21. snaparse says:

no way is matuidi sitting it out ts…….he is our most important player in midfield……I’d rather pogba sits out this than blaise IMO

  22. Nickie says:

    I’d probably go

    —-Schnid — Cabaye —–

    ———-Pogba———–

    Val——-Benz——–Griez

  23. tsgh says:

You are right Snap… Matuidi ahead of Pogba … Matuidi plays box to box much much better…

But I think Deschamp will fear if he loses leaving Pogba out… he is the Wooney of your squad…

You know the Les bleus better so… your view will be valued.

  24. snaparse says:

apparently kos won’t be starting today I really don’t like sakho against intelligent players….don’t mind him against the physical ones though

  25. snaparse says:

pogba is extremely talented and will become a top player but hr is not the finished article yet and playing against seasoned professionals in kross schweini lahm and ozil you might just want the safer option IMO

  26. tsgh says:

I think Pogba is a tad over rated; but still a quality player…

Listing to Talk Sports experts raving about him makes me laugh… those same guys were saying Fergie was right to let him leave Yanited.

For Juve I believe Vidal and Pirlo carry Pogba’s bad decisions loads of times…

If he was in this league he won’t be as confident or over rated imho…

Nickie, I doubt Morgan will start.

  27. tsgh says:

I think maybe Deschamp thinks/believes Varane and Kos are too similar like TV and Kosser that is why he prefers the Sakho/Varane partnership.

  28. snaparse says:

varane is more calm and more assured on the ball…..sakho is really like kos but more brutal and less assured on the ball plus his positioning is not really that maybe I am been biased as I don’t really rate him or I like kos but…..

  29. Wath says:

I’m happy if Kos don’t play, less chance of getting injured…. Least we have 2 or 3 players leavings for home today…! Sooner the better with my selfish Arsenal hat on…!

  30. Wath says:

Funnt Adam as I was thinking that it’s been a welcome distraction but am now at the phase where I just want it over and done with, games have for the most part been really good but bored with it now…. Preseason starts and I just want Arsenal stuff now…!

  31. snaparse says:

Lol….u selfish lot I’m enjoying the world cup but i will also be happy if arsenal players come back fresh….was watching a few highlight of wild here during his break through season and I most say I think if he focus and stop believing the hype he will be a very good player I know I haven’t really been his big fan but I’m expecting him to have a big season….same as gnabry

  32. tsgh says:

the knockout stages have been poor with last minute wins for the bigger teams/nations…

maybe time for extra time to be dropped by fifa…

  33. Wath says:

Spot on Bondex……! As much as Wenger pisses me off i still respect the man and he is class…!

  34. Joaquim Moreira says:

Aurier is gone… Debuchy is our next right back.
    Fuerza Colombia!
    Allez les Bleues!

  35. ktr7 says:

Good read.we just have to wait for official news because all these rumours are doing my head in.In other news how desperate are Liverpool?..

    Liverpool Echo @LivEchoLFC · 1h
We want you to help us convince Alexis Sanchez
that he’s better off at #LFC than #AFC – send us
    the reasons why using #joinLFC

    🙂 🙂

  36. tsgh says:

    kt… 😀

@LivEchoLFC Have you tried dressing Flanagan in Suarez’s shirt and praying that Sanchez is 95% blind?

  37. Wath says:

They very desperate Kt they always have been hence they like looking in bins……….. enough said…!

  38. tsgh says:

So Rico, what are we going to do with Theo’s contract as he now has only 2 years left on his contract? 🙂

By the time he comes back to full fitness he will have 18 months left and the media will slate AW for not extending hsi contract earlier…

  39. ktr7 says:

ts Liverpool fans are a truly delusional bunch.some of the gems i’ve read are absolute belters.will try to post some.

  40. Wath says:

@livpooecho…… Tell Sanchez it’s only of matter of time before you win the league again because it’s only been 24yrs so law of averages says………

  41. Rick says:

    Good Afternoon the House
Another signing for the youth team.
The Finnish u16 international Hugo Keto has just joined us
Where did this one come from, Jonker.

  42. ktr7 says:

Something that I haven´t seen said is –
Barcelona are a side on the decline. In
contrast we are a side on the up. To
jump ship from us to go there at the
moment could be your very own Michael
Owen moment Mr Suárez. In fairness to
Mr Owen, there was absolutely no
indicators that Liverpool would win the
    Champions League while he kept
    Jonathan Woodgate company in Madrid.
This time though…. there are some
    warning signs Mr Suárez.
Sure Luis Enrique, Barca legend, might
turn that right around. Although Valdes,
Puyol and Fabregas have already gone.
Xavi, Sanchez, Mascherano & Dani Alvez
rumoured to be joining them. Sounds like
a team in transition that Mr Suárez. Do
you see them surpasing a pretty settled
Real Madrid? Do you see them winning
the Champions League next year? You
are 27 now… at what age do you want
to start winning major club honours
    outside of Holland? Liverpool are
showing signs that with you in their
team, that could be as early as May
    2015. Barca – – – not so much.

    🙂 🙂

  43. tsgh says:

lol… Kt that made me laugh

Who do you think will be more pleased with Jaws leaving Liverpool to Barca?

Norwich fans who have conceded 13 to 15 goals from LS07 alone or Barca fans who need a defender but are getting another striker who won’t probably get on with Messi?

  44. ktr7 says:

It gets funnier lads…on Alexis allegedly rejecting them…

We are in the Champions League and
arguably the greatest club in the history
of football…I for once cannot understand
    his reluctance to join us…

It would be comedy gold if we were to sign Alexis and Suarez joins Barca and his ban gets dropped/reduced 🙂

  45. tsgh says:

    Thanks Rick…

How is it that Suarez has now been banned for a near total of 34 games but still yet to receive a red card?

  46. ktr7 says:

Brendan Rodgers, for his part, can offer
guaranteed Champions League football – Arsenal
must play a qualifier in August – and the promise
    of Suarez’s soon-to-be-vacant, iconic No 7
    jersey.

    🙂 🙂

  47. ktr7 says:

    Unreal from joe cole…

Cole believes the mentality at Liverpool
made it difficult for him to settle in,
with their insistence on being known as
the “biggest club in the country”
    catching him off guard.
“When I joined, the guy interviewing me
said ‘you’ve joined the biggest club in
the country’ and reeled off the trophies
they’d won,” he said. “I just said ‘yeah,
if you put it like that, I suppose you’re
right’ and Liverpool used that as the
    headline to the interview.
“I didn’t want to upset anyone so I just
went along with it. But obviously they’re
not the biggest club in the country any
more. How do you judge how big a club
    are? Nottingham Forest won the
European Cup twice but they’re not a
    bigger club than Chelsea.”

  48. Wath says:

    Hey Rick, how you doing……!

    Ts to answer your 2:27 it’s because he’s a complete and utter f’kin lunatic…..

  49. Luznic says:

Afternoon all, the rumors are interesting reading them even when I know some are just lies, why would AW buy Schneiderlin and Khedira its just rubbish meanwhile the S news keeps getting me excited

  50. tsgh says:

Phil Thompson and Hansen will ‘kill’ J Cole next season for that comment.lol

    Its unreal isn’t it Wath..

Luznic… you have forgotten about Vidal too… lol

  51. allezkev says:

Fred, I missed your comment yesterday, and yes it’s great to exact some pay-back on West Ham…
I think the lad comes from Kent…

Arsenal really need to get their arse in gear and start scouting Essex again… 😉

    Afternoon All
    Afternoon Wath, good post mate…

A Finnish goalkeeper Rick, not sure what to think about that…
But as you say, Jonker’s influence maybe?

  52. ktr7 says:

    “Sit Alexis down
with Brendan for 5 minutes, then he’ll be begging
    for a contract”

    🙂 🙂

  53. Luznic says:

yea Ginge the Vidal link to me is laughable as Arsene will see him and Ramsey as same type of player plus we might not sign Schneiderlin and Khedira as Diaby is like a new signing we will sign S though the only people I fear are the oilers they may bring some crazy cash and trust Barca they are not honorable

  54. bondex says:

I’m not so excited about any of the news ,that’s why im preparing my mind for campbell as the next big thing 3 other unknown players that AW will dig up from the french league.

  55. allezkev says:

Ashley Williams extends his contract at Swansea….

    And it’s a ‘Blow to Arsenal’…!!!

    Really? How come????

    We’re we in for him?
Would he have signed for Swansea if we were in for him?
Is he really that good anyway??

Usual pile of shite from the Press…

I suppose in their tiny world, it was a ‘Blow’ when Bendtner left….

    Fcuking morons….

  56. bondex says:

Kev, the press won’t stop amazing me … they will soon announce that Arsenal has just suffered a BIG BLOW in not signing me too.

  57. Nickie says:

really not enjoying seeing “man U to hijack bid”, “Man city now enter race, Pellengrini wants him”

  58. allezkev says:

I would love to see Colombia win, but FIFA will be in the ear of the referee and Fred will be doing his dying swan impressions if it gets tight…

  59. Wath says:

I wonder if the “flu” bug in the German camp is gonna have an affect on fitness…?

    Suppose we’ll see in a few hours…!

Not bothered between Fra v Ger BUT i so want Brazil getting knocked out…!

  60. tsgh says:

you know fifa so well Kev… lol

Fifa won’t want any Brazillians lynching the delegates if Colombia win… lol

  61. Luznic says:

Ashley williams ?? I would rather have Djourou, the press just digs up something either to spite the Arsenal fans or to just get something to write about, how do they consider how good a job they do when all they do is tell lies

  62. Bt62 Gooner says:

Afternoon all, Keto had a trail at Afc in April and trained at Lfc, spent part of his life in England.

  63. Joaquim Moreira says:

Giriud e Mets out of the teams.
    Allez les Bleues!!!
yestrday, Huntelaar.. today? none linking to us?

  64. agirlagunner says:

Boo! WATH, you’ve been deputizing well, I must say. 🙂 Lady Boss will be happy. I marvel everyday that rico (and everyone else who writes here) is able to come up with talking points. 🙂

Rumors of “imminent” signings are coming thick and fast. Alas, they have been “imminent” for ages now. And we have yet to unveil a marquee signing. 😀

I love these twitter stories. 🙂 The agent of “S” has “followed” AFC and some AFC players; now we know that “S” really is coming over! Lol.

I was all set to cheer on France but having seen the line-up, I’m not so sure, now. I want to see our boys in there!

  65. agirlagunner says:

Pogba not contributing anything so far. Benzema looking lazy. Evra getting so much grief down his flank. Tsk.

  66. snaparse says:

good game so far……Germany exploiting matiudi’s limitation on the ball…they are man marking cabaye

  67. STV111 says:

GER 1-2 FRA, BRA1-2 COL, NETH 3-1 COSand BEL 0-2 ARG Bold predictions 😉 you heard first

  68. agirlagunner says:

STV, hey, France can still win this. Just overrun at midfield now.

Snap, I think France should just go for speed. Germany look about ready to collapse anytime someone runs at the goal.

And man, the Germans are flopping…

  69. STV says:

yes AGAG but nerves might get them. Germany is not convincing..
Me rooting for the dutch as always they were amazing and ruthless so far

  70. tsgh says:

    Stv,some bold prediction mate…lol
Hi Agag…Benzema doing what he does best f all until he scores.lol
Imagine carrying Benzema,Ozil,Poldi,SC19 against Chelsea? 6 vs 10 comes to mind

  71. tsgh says:

Snap/Agag as we discussed earlier, time to drop Pogba for Morgan.
Cabaye and Matuidi will over run Khedira who is not much fit.
    I have £5 on France to win…

  72. agirlagunner says:

Ruthless at diving, too, STV. Haha. After v Persie, I just cannot bring myself to cheer on the Dutch. 😛

  73. snaparse says:

true aggag…..but that is as much pace as we have as possible I will argue putting sissoko on

  74. STV says:

yes 😉 VP 🙂 He is an a…o.. but good for Holland in some games tho Huntilaar not getting chance cause of him. 🙂

  75. Luznic says:

Germany just have to win, they are my tournament favourites, Germany will win this 2-0, I love watching penalties though so I won’t mind a German penalty triumph

  76. snaparse says:

true ts but the Germans are marking cabaye out and pogba is the only one in midfield goof enough on the ball and can carry upfield too

  77. agirlagunner says:

Haha, ginge. Benzema needs to be more clinical in front of goal. He is either wasting Griezmann’s crosses or playing offside. Germany have been hardly dominant. Terrible mistake by Varane.

  78. tsgh says:

I never thought loew lose tactical enough to use Kroos instead of Ozil to mark out Cabaye- Snap

  79. tsgh says:

Agag do you remember me asking on here if after wc AFC fans would prefer a swap with BM for Ozil?

  80. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, nope. And NO!! I would rather keep our Little wizard of Oz. he will find his magic again.

  81. tsgh says:

    Sakho is shite!
Ozil is class agag.to me its all about peoples expectations.
People will define him as a £42m player but its not his fault Bale inflated the market.

  82. agirlagunner says:

Really, Ginge? You think so? Cause Sagna has been good this season, but has been average the previous two.

  83. STV says:

Sakho is shit agree he is still riding on that 2 goal he scored against Ukraine. The game lack spark

With Debuchy coming we need a very good dm to cover for defensive frailties

  84. snaparse says:

benzeama as always never turns up…now we really miss ribery….ts leow surprised me too cabaye off…..cmon Remy……have always loved kross as my best German player

  85. STV says:

Sagna was not getting any better 🙁 imho both parties needed to move on.. He served us well when he was here.

  86. STV says:

yes debuchy not best defensive rb in the world could get caught on counter meret lacks bit speed so a dm some one like dejong/krooz would help

  87. agirlagunner says:

Injuries aside, and I am a Sagna fan, I never felt like his game improved, ginge. Certainly, his crossing never did. 😀

  88. tsgh says:

    True Stv re 6:41
To me Benzema always bottles it when it matters.will I pay £30m expecting him to take us further?Never

  89. tsgh says:

People talk about but DM but Schweinsteiger was a winger 5 years ago…
    Football brains…
    Hummels has been sensational

  90. tsgh says:

Lawrence says Kroos not good enough! Lmfao
And he gets paid for such opinion. He might have played the game but he is clueless.
He rates Pogba more than Kroos.lol
Agag/stv I wanted Sagna for CB role.

  91. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Krauts advance.

    Froggies out.

    Goooooooodddddd

That would mean more players returning home early. More time to rest.

  92. tsgh says:

    Dedchamp selection wrong.
loew read Hh and played lahm at rb and brought in Sami. 🙂
Riberry definitely missed.Cabella should have played to trouble Howedes.
    Agag ditto re Hummels

  93. STV says:

He should’nt have Kos replaced with that shit sakho.. am dreaming Ger Neth final it would be awesome

  94. agirlagunner says:

When Boateng is made to look like a rock, you know Deschamps has lined up his team wrong, hahaha. I don’t rate Boateng at all.

  95. tsgh says:

lol Agag- he is half Ghanaian so you cant slate boateng too much.. 🙂

Apart from that he shows you don’t have to be a world class player to play for a top team.. Scott will agree with that. 🙂

  96. tsgh says:

Agag- that is why when players are rated on goals alone things go wrong even though goals are stats too… lol

  97. tsgh says:

After all that Benzema vs OG12 stats since 2005

    Benzema 108 goals from 211 appearances whilst OG12 has 106 from 218 appearances…

One has played for Montpellier whilst the otehr has played for lyon and RM… just saying. 😉

  98. agirlagunner says:

STV, I’ll remind you of your predictions, okay? Bookmarking this page. Haha.

If Giroud had missed the chances Benzema did today, you can be sure the media would be all over the him.

Sorry, ginge. You know BM are next on my hate list after Barcelona. Lol.

  99. tsgh says:

Lol Agag- I didn’t know that re BM; Is it because of Muller and Robben.. .the synchronized divers?

  100. goonster says:

Afternoon guys wanted France to win so bad. Now only germane stands between us and world cup glory. God help us.

  101. tsgh says:

lol Goonie… JC will drive one to the top corner tomorrow.

How are you and a happy 4th of July to you Yank! 🙂

  102. agirlagunner says:

… and Schweinsteiger, and Thiago (Barca DNA included), and cherrypicking at BvB, and Pep… I also thought Lahm was an ass when they played us; plus for some reason, there is a smugness to Neuer which gets on my nerves.

  103. Hell Raising Devil says:

now mates…..why do you slate Deschamps for picking a mug instead of Kozzer?

He did us a favour……..by benching him and thus loose the game. That means Kozzer and Giroud plus maybe Remy and Debouchy will be early at the EMS. Getting more rest.

    So come on mates………….

    Three cheers for Deschamps.

  104. agirlagunner says:

Allez Les Bleus then, Dev. 🙂 You got that part, right. Well, I hope Poldi, Merts, and Ozil never play another minute in this WC. Maybe, it’s their turn to have the flu. 🙂

goonie, it’s Joel Campbell, how could you forget?? I thought Arsenal over the Oranje?? 😛

  105. tsgh says:

    Cynical Dev… 🙂

Agag- your hate list is longer than mine then… 😉

As someone who has supporter BVB 09 for nearly 20 years; I have surrendered to the dominance of Fc Bavaria whilst we had to sell our best players from Sammer to the lil Mozart to make ends meet.

4 to 5 years ago when we won the title 3 times in a row it felt good and but

Saying that I have some respect for the likes of Matthias and co as great footballers.

Imagine locking Neuer and Scez in a room alone… their egos will be box office material… lol

  106. tsgh says:

    supported*

I didn’t realise Pearce has gotten him self another managerial job at Forest. lol

  107. goonster says:

Hahahahahah stv of course am still around. It takes more than WATH’s stinking breath to get rid of me. How have you been my man? What happened?

  108. agirlagunner says:

I tend to haaate teams that beat us, ginge. 😀 I was never a gracious loser. KT is a BvB fan, like you; I’m rather indifferent to the Bundesliga. When I first started watching football, I liked AFC almost instantly and Juve a bit. Then as Juve just bored me to death; I loved Arsenal more and more.

goonie, okay, JC to score a hattrick against your boys tomorrow. 😀 Lol.

  109. STV says:

IGood to hear goon 🙂 hardly getting time/mood to stop by.. been good u too I hope. Me too rooting for oranje actually since 1998. but Arsenal over oranje ofcource I’ll tolerate Rat Van Persie it it means good for them 😉

  110. tsgh says:

    Paulinho and fernandinho start..

Why no Ramires? We should put in a bit for him he is so under rated…

  111. goonster says:

Yipeeeeeee….finally a blogger that loves the oranje. Stv you owe me a drink. Suck on that wath you cross eyed freak 😀

  112. STV says:

How cud I imagine germans getaway with this sloppy play.. :p Not as good as Camel or Octopus of course but I got 90 % predictions right this wc 😉

  113. agirlagunner says:

I liked Henry and Trezeguet and watched their clubs. 😳 But Juve boooored me before long. Arsenal never did. 😉

goonie, you now have an ally in STV. 🙂

  114. goonster says:

Nah man I settled down. Hard to believe huh. Some southern Carolina girl got me whipped. No more traveling for me am afraid. Am stuck. Lol

  115. rico says:

    Evening guys and gals….

Just been having a read back and a few of you deserve a yellow card for your comments about Theo… And other ‘rico’ related comments… 😉

Ts, have you had a weeks holiday too? You must have, either that or you may have upset your boss for all the time you have been on here? 😉

    Especially as men can’t multi-task…. 🙂

  116. agirlagunner says:

ricooooooo. 🙂 I hear you’re enjoying some sun. 🙂 re: Theo, wasn’t me, I swear. Hahaha. That was Wavy.

  117. tsgh says:

    lol… Rico.. I multi task alright… the typos show…

Just answer my question on Theo taking our money and going sick for a year again… 🙂

  118. rico says:

Stv, what are you suggesting? 😉

Multi-task Ts, does that mean you can talk and write crazy stuff at the same time?? 😉

As for Theo, all the time you defend Arteta, I’ll stick to defending Theo, after all, it’s not his fault he’s learned very little from Afc coaching staff….

  119. Rick says:

Evening sorry I cut things short school run come up
Wath thanks for asking having a good week .
Like Fred and Kev I think the signing of young Sheef was pay back for last year.
But signing Keto is even better. Kev we only have Huddet under 18
and have been on the look out for another G/k for some time.
Now Keto spent some time at the Pool last season on trail and played a number of games for their youth team They built the lad up saying he was the best player to come out of Finland for a number of years. He was offered a contract and they expected him back for training. However we have Hi jact the deal and given him a 3year contract. The pool are a little upset that they have lost him. Ha Ha
    Loving it.

  120. agirlagunner says:

re: Theo; don’t bin me, rico. 😛 Glad you’re having some sun and fun. 🙂 🙂

Hiya, Rick. How are you?? Anything that upsets the Poop makes me happ. I wish the matches of the young ‘uns were shown. I know so little of them. 🙂

  121. Rick says:

    Hi Agag Im fine thanks.
We used to .have our own tv and a number of youth team and Ladies games were shown live. But the club have told me that because of the present TV contracts they can no longer do it.

But the Pool Man U and the Chavs have their own tv and show most of their youth team games.

  122. snaparse says:

evening house can’t say I’m no disappointed but it is a relatively young squad so I expect us to learn and come back stronger benzeama IMO has not really developed in Madrid he does lack mental strength IMO too weak but he did improve later in the game so..now I’m official team Germany Lol….

  123. allezkev says:

Clive Tyldesley, possibly the worst football commentator in the World…

Andy Townsend, definately the biggest tosser on TV..

  124. Hell Raising Devil says:

Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy is set for a medical at Arsenal ahead of a £7.9m transfer, according to report in France.

The Magpies have accepted an offer from the Gunners and the move could now be finalised in a matter of days, claims L’Equipe.

Debuchy, aged 28, was eliminated from the World Cup today after France lost their quarter-final against Germany. He could now be available to undergo his medical in the next couple of days.

The former Lille man has recently expressed his desire to return to the Champions League and fuelled speculation that a move was in the offing by removing references to Newcastle from his Twitter bio.

Arsenal are in the market for a new right-back after losing Bacary Sagna, Debuchy’s understudy in the France squad at the World Cup, to Manchester City on a free transfer.

Newcastle could ultimately pocket £12m based on add-ons, the report suggests.

  125. Gonerjoe says:

See what happens when the ref let’s a team kick the sh*t out of a team without issuing cards when he should. Hope Germany do a job on Brazil on Tuesday.
It was like watching Arsenal at Stoke.

  126. Wavy says:

I have never witnessed a more biased referee, abetted by a dodgy linesman in my life!
    BENT OR WHAT?
There were some shocking assaults committed by Brazil that went totally unpunished and some non fouls not committed by Collubia that were punished without any justification at all.
I am appalled and horrified and really glad Ingerland never got out the group. I hate injustice!

  127. Gunnerdna says:

Did u all c the tackle on Neymar? Take a moment to reflect on this Brazil is the most successful national football team in the history of the FIFA World Cup, with five championships: 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. They are also the most successful team in the FIFA Confederations Cup with four titles. Brazil are the current holders of the FIFA Confederations Cup after winning the 1997, 2005, 2009, and 2013 edition of the tournament. Did they get help from the referee?

  128. Wavy says:

In the days prior to 1982 they didn’t need any help they played sublime football. Now they don’t. They need help as honest toiling Is not enough. Fluent or football does not describe what they did on the fiels of. ‘Play’ tonight was little short of actual bodily harm, on the street they would have been prosecuted! Football that wasn’t! Brazil have been shite for a long time and will. E way into the future. If they win this comp it will be a travesty of justice. Similar to Rolf, didn’t we all love him’s sentence today!
    I’m still shocked and horrified!

  129. Wavy says:

Neymar, broken vertebrae apparently..very harsh, he didn’t deserve such a serious injury, but when your teammates are dishing out serious violence on the pitch someone somewhere is going to retaliate! Shame he’s out but, ‘live by the sword……..’
It is a team game after all!

  130. Scott From Oz says:

Germany are looking stronger every game.
Holland are a chance, but can’t defend, but if they sort that are right in it.
    Brazil…likewise.
    Argentina aren’t good enough.

  131. Lee says:

    A little one WATH….
    All ok Kev?
We getting “S” what you reckon? Or does stubborn bollocks think we won a pot and were 7 points adrift but had loads injuries so would/could of won it with those players fit? So no need to strengthen……. surely he can’t think that????

  132. allezkev says:

Morning Lee, morning Wath, morning Scott.

    Pissing down in London…

I wish they’d get the bloody Sanchez deal finalised.
The longer it drags on the more chance there is we’ll get gazzumped…

  133. allezkev says:

We’ve not been linked to Kalou for a week or so!

Does that mean we’re in for him again. 🙄

  134. Lee says:

No Kev apparently Kalou is a smokescreen it’s Darren Bent that we are after……music to your ears!!!

  135. Wath says:

Debuchy is decent enough Lee in my opinion….! Also not to young to be a long term player to stop Bellerin or Jenks making it…!?!?!?

I think stubborn bollox knows we need to buy quality and there are no excuses not to.

New post going up at 12…. breaks the day up a bit lol 😉

  136. allezkev says:

According to the Daily Star, Man City have joined the ‘race’ for Alexis Sanchez, along with Arsenal, Liverpool and ManUre.
    But no mention of Juventus!!!
Does that mean that the Star have information about Juve dropping out of the ‘race’..???

Or, as usual, are they talking the same old bollocks?!!!

  137. allezkev says:

Somebody else broke the Man City interest in Sanchez, last week, so you have to congratulate the Star, for being so quick off the mark…

  138. allezkev says:

I imagine the the Mirror will ‘break’ the Sanchez to City story next week…

Then The Mail will report Liverpool’s interest the week after…

It’s a bit surprising that no paper had ‘revealed’ this week, that Bendtner is leaving…. zzzzzz

  139. Wath says:

Mate if they link another team with a player it gives the story more substance….. It must be asked what substance they on….!?!?!

  140. Wath says:

For a change Kev the Metro have a point, Barca seem to want/need as much cash as possible to offer Lfc as much cash up front as possible for the gnasher deal…. S they want “S” done as quick as possible…. If we have been doing the business the last few weeks then you with think that now Chile out the WC “S” can be spoken to directly to agree the deal…! Lets hope so….!

By the end of next week it would be pretty bloody good if we have got Debuchy, “S” and Schneiderlin….!
