This summer is as far as I know, the first time this name has been linked with Arsenal..
Emmanuel Rivière is 21 years old and currently plays for French club AS Saint-Étienne in Ligue 1.
He’s described a s being a main striker BUT can also play on either wing!
He’s played through the age levels for France but has yet to represent the ‘big boys’, his nickname is ‘Manu’
Well, we have already had one Manu who was just mighty fine, we have also had a striker who could operate on either wing – he was just awesome and holds the clubs goal scoring record, probably always will….
Inevitably, because Rivière plays in his dual role of striker come winger, he’s been labelled as the ‘New Henry’ – I am not sure his career stats back that up.
84 Appearances – 19 goals and 8 assists hardly make him the next wonder striker in the making do they?
Or do they??
Well, let me remind you of our own Thierry Henry and his stats before he joined Arsenal…
At Monaco he made 141 appearances, scored 28 goals and had 37 assists, then at Juventus he made 20 appearances, scored just 3 goals and had just 2 assists!
Hardly figures that would make every Arsenal fan shout from the roof tops ‘Go get him Arsene’ are they?? Not today anyway, we are all so desperate for the club to sign a striker who will score goals for fun aren’t we…..?
The player himself is chuffed to be linked with us –
I am flattered to be linked with the clubs mentioned. I am a young player, so to be linked with Arsenal is fantastic for me.
If Arsene Wenger is interested in you it means you have potential to be a very good player. People compare me to Thierry Henry, and that is a big compliment. If I can achieve half of his career I will be happy.
He only signed a new deal at Saint-Etienne last season but, he’s hardly likely to cost the earth, he’s still pretty much unknown.
Yep, like I said earlier, he’s got Wenger’s name written all over it……
The only thing is, Kenny Dalglish is taking an interest in him too so if Rivière really is a target of Arsene Wenger, he best act fast because sure as heck, King Kenny won’t hang around…
Maybe this fella really could be the ‘next Thierry Henry’ – Only because he can play central and on both wings of course, and he’s French… 😉
There will only ever be one Thierry Henry and he was ours and always will be in every Arsenal fans heart…
Just as we will always be in his….…..
Just briefly touching on last night’s goings on, I was quite surprised to read that Ivan Gazidis suggested that Wengers future would be ultimately be down to the fans.
He said:
Arsene is ultimately accountable to the fans – they ultimately make judgment. If you are seeing the relationship between the fans and the manager break down over time that is unsustainable. But I don’t think we are anywhere near that.
Hasn’t this ‘relationship’ already broken down??
Anyway, Mr G promised a busy summer in the transfer market, just like Wenger has before him. We are supposedly talking to many targets but the bit he left out is that those targets have all said ‘No’…. 😉
Otherwise, we’d have signed a few of them by now wouldn’t we?
Morning rico,
You do love a signing don’t you, Me too but my preference is down the other end, i wont even think about forward players until i see a brick wall at the back. I would be smiling till the start of the season if we employ Samba& Cahill and a very good keeper,( I’de be singing and dancing in the rain)
Morning all
Hi Steve,
We need them all, which one comes in first matters not to me 😉
But yes, I see where you are coming from, tighten up first and until Nik goes, he won’t sign a striker anyway…. well, not imho 😉
good post….
morning all
samba and cahill me to will be very happy…..
morning af,
the samba rumour gathers more pace today….
Morning peeps, I,m with you SP get the other end sorted first….the dippers are linked with more players than us!!! (lol)
I don’t think the relationship with the fans has broken down already.
We hear a lot from the vocal minority, who, it must be said, are somewhat irrational and emotional but the majority still support the current management. We were all frustrated at the end of last season, as Mr G said himself but we are not one of the also-ran clubs who sack the manager whenever they get a few bad results.
In the end, our implosion at the end of last season may be a blessing in disguise, because it has made crystal clear that there are problems to be addressed, whereas, in the past, it has been possible to write off failure as a fluke or bad luck. It seems from what Mr G said that everybody is on the same page now on that point.
Yeah u all right as my thought i would love to see this team for next season
schez/fabianski
sagna/jenikson cahill/ djouro sakho/TV baines/kosiel/gibs
nasri/ramsey song/ilner/frimpong wilshere/rosciky/lunsbury
RVP/walcot Benzema/chamke gervinho/arshavin
Hi Lee, you ganging up on me 😉
Woops, hit the wrong button 🙂
aj, i see where you are coming from but what happened this season happened a couple of seasons ago too, after the brum game – we were top of the league, then went on to draw games and our lead went…
why didn’t wenger learn from that?
Let’s dig Rico out Tuesday!! 😉
infact wenger should go, new manager pls sign them all, dis guy, hazard, parker, gervinho, benzima, sambs, cahil, wallians and sell delnison, diaby, squalici, almunia, bendtner.
🙂 Lee
No Cesc then wubeyeth
ewa, wenger won’t go – not yet anyway…..
Yesterday i had to dodge the rain, today i need to get the woofa out before it gets too hot, crazy english weather…..
Back in a bit…..
Samba is very good in the air but turns like Gareth Barry and will be roasted by the nanis, defoes, rooneys,of the epl.
Morning Rico, 🙂
I was so delighted to see that we have been linked with the perrenial Blaises Matuidie.
Every Summer for the past 5 years we read “Arsenal will have to pay £x million to sign Matuidie”, and every year, somehow, Arsene seems to find the strength to resist! 🙂
Classic.
Morning rico……any news on samba or cahill. Heard gervinho might be unveiled any time soon. How true is that…morning red arse……have always wanted to say that..
Just hope we unveil someone soon before I lose it……gazidis didn’t only allay my fears he comes across as a very shrewd business man. The kind I would want to employ to run my firm for me…..what do u guys think of him. That’s my opinion though..
Hi Guys/Gals
Quiet one today…
Haven’t we signed anyone yet…. 😉
morning all…no surprises from ig’s meeting with the ast. i hardly expected him to go fred wilpon and throw everyone/everything under the bus…he agreed with some points, mollified some anger about others, and overall tried to placate…generally what i expected….now we’ll see what – if anything – happens over the next few weeks.
Hi oliver,
no surprises at all, same old rubbish coming out from the club…..
Hi Guys. Am I the only one excited about Gervinho?
He’s an Arsenal fan from top ’till toe, has pace, flair and really good technique and dribbling skills! IMHO he would definitely be a great asset to the squad!
Only donwside is, he’s African, and would be away for a month and a half..
morning rico…pr exercise, little more…didn’t expect much last night and that is how it turned out. ig said basically nothing…
morning dk. i am not sure the link with gervinho is as concrete as some would have. we definitely need another striker, not sure gervinho is exactly what we need…
Hi ADK,
it’s the last bit that worries me, losing him for 6 weeks in Jan/Feb is not ideal – but it does seem that the deal has been done and we will hear on 1st July….
That is if the reports are true 😉
I’m hoping we will sign him, I agree with you oliver, that we need a striker, but Gervinho is a winger. We exactly don’t have many of those, have we? 😉
Also, i’m really hoping that Theo will be used as a striker.. He could cause a lot of problems for the defenders with his pace if you asked me.. and he could create extra space for the other players..
The bit that made me laugh oliver was as in the post, i don’t think wenger is accountable to anyone….
Reports in France suggest he has signed for us already….
Hi rico
I’m hoping that we will sign him, and that Ivory Coast crash out early in the competition, although that is highly unlikely.. 😉
Ivory Coast aren’t that good tehse days are they ADK 😉
But, like has been mentioned before, this could be the last winter ACoN’s so shouldn’t be quite so bad…
are you sure rico?
I hear different reports all the time about the ACoN..
Someone says it will be in the summer, someone says winter.. What to believe?
I think 2012 will be January, after that it moves to the summer, i’ll try find out for sure ADK
Let me know when you find out rico, thanks in advance 🙂
Wikki
Ahead of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations several European clubs called for a rethink of the tournament’s schedule. As it takes place during the European season, players who are involved miss several matches for their clubs.[8]
In January 2008, FIFA president Sepp Blatter announced that he wanted the tournament to be held in either June or July by 2016, to fit in the international calendar, although this would preclude many countries in central and west Africa from hosting the competition (as these months occur during their wet season).[9]
In May 2010, it was announced that the tournament would be moved to odd-numbered years from 2013. This will mean the tournament will not take place in the same year as the World Cup. It also means there will be two tournaments within twelve months in January 2012 (co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea) and January 2013 (hosted by Libya).[2]
Even though i’m not a fan of wikipedia, that seems trustworthy enough for me 🙂
Thanks rico 🙂
Lille are planning to hold talks with Arsenal over the proposed sale of their Ivory Coast striker Gervinho.
The 24-year-old scored 15 goals to help Lille win the French league and Cup double last season.
Speaking on French radio station RMC, Lille general manager Frederic Paquet said: “He wants to go and has developed contacts with Arsenal.
“He has expressed a desire to go to England. We will soon have talks with them and see what they offer.”
Paris St Germain have also enquired about Gervinho but Paquet does not want to “strengthen a competitor” by selling to a domestic rival.
And Paquet went on to describe 20-year-old Belgian winger Eden Hazard, who is also thought to be an Arsenal target, as “untransferable”.
My pleasure ADK 😉
that seems like he’s ours. But I won’t hold my breath rico.. let’s just wait and see.. 🙂
Good morning!
No news on new players and the players coming out?
Not yet realized how we lost Gameiro …
I remembered yesterday the 1st game of the League in Liverpool. We played with Almunia, Wilshere (replaced), Chamack (the large rib), Vermaelen … against 10 and we got a whole lot drawing 1-1 against the “new” Liverpool with its new large acquisitions, Joe Cole, Jovanovic, N’gob … (where we are going to these big acquisitions …). It curiosocomo summarized the season: the highest percentage of ball, conceding a goal in numerical advantage and only get a draw “miraculously, ” many of the ball passes without progression, an inability to shoot forward and create shots on goal and a defense / goalkeeper who is frightened and trembles with any ball pumped into the area
I think that’s best ADK 😉
Hi JM, no, no news on any comings or goings 🙁
Only me though, I have to go out again,
Back later….
News:
Chelsea seem willing to do anything to ensure the Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, Tottenham. According to British media on Tuesday, the Blues are willing to offer Didier Drogba in order to amortize the amount payable to the Spurs.
Given the reluctance of Spurs losing your brain’s midfield, the team Abramovich “waves” now with Drogba, a former love of Harry Redknapp, who never hid like a lot of the qualities of the Ivorian.
At Stamford Bridge, Modric would earn a weekly salary of 130,000 pounds (150,000 euros), a value close to triple the Croatian earns at White Hart Lane.
The coach of the Spurs conceded last week that did not want to lose his star: “Of course we want to keep Luka. It’s a special player and we want to keep it. If we sell, we will basically sell the club …”.
Afternoon…..
Citeh want Modric too JM….
I am bored of this window already.
You and me both Will….
Roll on July 1st, that’s when I think we’ll hear more, the non domestic transfers begin then…..
II hate the biddiing word that Gazidis uses.
zzzzzz indeed…
lets just hope our players are getting some rest and doing something they enjoy. get that done now because it’s time to go to work once training resumes…
I think oliver was right earlier Will, all he said was something of nothing – they all sound like wenger puppets….
It iis a get out word.
I don’t believe anything that comes from our current board…..
oliver, the only one not resting is Lansbury 🙂
Me either, they just give meaningless platitudes.
it was an orchestrated pr event, no more, no less. i certainly had no illusions that ig would say anything that could pin the club down…and i understand why he wouldn’t – so i am not necessarily disappointed with last night’s meeting…just apathetic, as i expected very little from it.
take ig’s comment that we will have “some new signings coming in and some of the existing squad going out” that sounds great on the face of it, as i don’t think anyone can reasonably argue that our squad needs some freshening up…however…
we have already had one signing (jenkinson) arrive, and several youth (randall, cruise, etc) players released. the cynic can point to that as possibly the extent of our summer activity. ig was intentionally vague here – i agree with not tipping our proverbial hand. yet it also serves as cover if, as some probably suspect, the club plans to follow the recent season pattern of only limited player transactions…
i personally do not think that is the case – i do think we will see more departures than arrivals, but as we have some young players who may well be ready to make the step up to the senior squad, i do not consider this as necessarily a bad thing…
i think that jenkinson will not be our only arrival, but i also think that we will not see a massive influx. i struggle to believe that even arsene thinks we can stand still considering how last season panned out. who comes and who goes remains to be seen, but i do think that we will have a busier summer than the last few…it may be slow now, but i think things will pick up over the next few weeks…
whether things change for the better or not…well, that remains to be seen…and that will be a discussion for another day, supported by an adequate sampling…
rico, we can often glean more information from what arsene/ig/sk/afc board don’t say, than from what they do say….
oliver, i actually don’t think IG is referring to the youth/reserve players in the departures, i think he is talking about nik, denilson and possibly clichy and Eboue…
However, i don’t expect big name signings, just better than we are letting leave..
I think Cesc and Nasri will stay, unless a club offers ‘silly money’
rico, i don’t think he is either…yet, should we see a summer of inertia, his comment from yesterday could then be cast as referring to what already took place. it would be revisionist, but its vague enough allow the club room to do that (recast)…
i think samir will ultimately stay – cesc, i am not so sure…part of me thinks that something has already been in place for a while (perhaps as far back as last summer) and the transfer (to barcelona) will not be confirmed until a point where it will be more palatable for arsenal supports…the fee will, of course, be “undisclosed”…
maybe…maybe not…
The only thing that makes me believe Cesc will stay oliver is his contract – hence my comment about silly money….
possibly…we’ll see how things go this summer. i think we are fast approaching the point where we need to ask whether or not sanctioning a cesc transfer to barcelona might not be in all parties best interests…obviously, getting fleeced will not be in afc’s interests in any way, shape or form…but if a reasonable deal can be done, perhaps this summer is the time to do it.
cesc is our captain and a huge player for us, but he is not irreplacable. any player – or manager – can be replaced…
oliver – if it was down to me, i’d sell him now – not just to barca, but to whoever offered the best money, other than in the PL….
he is not happy with us so why strangle him? he needs to be freed….
re nasri, if he thinks he can hold the club to ransom, then i would also sell him to the best offer, he is yet to truly prove he is a great player…
agree, no one player is bigger than arsenal, no manager is bigger than arsenal either…
everyone at the club can be replaced……
samir’s situation is a little more complicated for me – i am not certain it is entirely about money. i think it is at least possible that his apparent reluctance to commit may be linked to cesc’s status in one way or another…i don’t know…
if samir is about money, then sell him to spain or italy. don’t worry about the club selling him to man united – that will never, in a million years, happen. united need a midfielder like him, and we are not going strengthen them, no matter what the circumstances…in fact, we won’t strengthen any prem rival with a player of his caliber.
we’ll see how that goes. whatever his motivations, i doubt that he will be allowed to start next season in a position where he can walk away for nothing after the season…
being the ruthless one that i am, i don’t care what samir’s problem is, he either wants to play in the red and white of our club or he doesn’t – if he doesn’t, he can go and i don’t honestly care where oliver…..
what OUR club needs is players who truly want to play for us because of what the club means, not what the club plays…
Earlier ADK posted about Gervinho – ok, he may not excite every fan, but one thing he keeps saying is he wants to play for us, if he’s truthing, he is 80% on his way to win over the fans…
IF of course, all that is true….
if…as with everything else, if…
i think i am in the minority when i say that i feel samir not yet signing a contract does not automatically equate to him not wanting to play for us – i don’t know enough about his reasons to characterize this as a “he wants to play for us or he doesn’t” black or white situation. do i wish he would commit now? certainly…if he has reservations regarding arsene, where the club is heading, his team-mates, would i blame him? certainly not…after all, don’t many of us have at least some reservations about all three of these aforementioned aspects? should we really blame samir for hedging his bets if these things are influencing his decision?
i think a big difference between your perspective and mine is that i don’t see this as a situation where samir is holding the club to ransom – at least not yet…the longer it drags on, the closer we get to that situation. but hopefully things will come to a head before then, and this will be resolved one way or another. in an ideal world, samir discuss his particular reservations – whatever they may be – openly…yet that would effectively hold the club to ransom, as to do so will publicly call the club out…
this situation is anything but ideal…if his motivations are purely money, the club should draw a line in the sand – take it or leave it, if you will…if samir has other reservations, such as the club’s direction, management, quality of players, style of play, etc, the club and he should try and work these out privately – hopefully they are…
i won’t say he is holding us to ransom or is only interested in sick jack just yet…
Been thinking about Cesc and Nas and i have to admit i have now reservations. I sat with a piece of paper and tried to put down my best team and found i had too many good players to chose from. I started to think of all your preferences, Samba Cahill Gervinho Benzema Young Parker and so on only too find i had far too many players to field in a team of eleven i found that if i put who i would like in the back line, just say Sagna. Cahill Samba Virmin then i looked at midfield Nas Cesc Jack Rambo. Then up front Robin and Theo. what do i do with.
Squil, Kosi Bartley Miquel Song Frimpong Lansbury DiabyRyo Vela Chamy Arsh and so on.
So when we look at buying, where is everybody going to go, if say we bought two experienced back liners we must lose quite a few,Would you want to lose Kosi Bartley and the rest, and midfield if Cesc and Nas stays and Lansbury moves in where do we put these players.
Cesc Nas Song Frimpong Diaby Jack Rambo Arsh Vela Chamy
Buying players leads to trouble
now sagna – in an interview with a french radio station – confirmed cesc wants to leave…”i can say it’s true that cesc wants to go to barca.”
nothing we probably didn’t already know/suspect…i wonder if sagna’s comments – just a day after the ast/ig meeting – have been specifically timed…
We can only go on what Wenger has said oliver and i think he said about ‘little problems’ with his contract – add to that what has been said about the money – then we can only assume its a wage thing…
If he is demanding a massive wage which is more than sy RvP is getting – that to me is holding the club to ransom…
I don’t like players who do that with wages, and Nasri has been with us how long??
We don’t need or want another Ade do we….
Steve
Buying too many leads to problems, buying to replace what we have with better players doesn’t, not if it means that those replaced leave..
Cahill and Samba imho would only push JD and Kos harder…..
Four quality defenders who would fight for their place and allow rotation without disruption…..
Re Cesc
We all know he wants to go to Barca – the reality is though he is still tied to a long term contract…
Red Arse will be pleased:
Yet again the link to Blaise Matuidi has surfaced….
What a load of bollards…. 🙂
What about Vermy and miquel Bartley
steve, i get your point, but your argument can easily be flipped…i.e., stockpiling kids leads to trouble…if you have more kids on the books than you have squad slots, you are forced into playing them, and can possibly lock yourself out of purchasing ready-made, experienced players – which i think every squad needs – the type of players which will get a promising, oh-so-close squad over the proverbial hump…
the answer is in expectations…not every player that is brought through the ranks should be considered potential first team regulars…there will be some hit-and-miss…every player should ideally have exposure to the first team, with the view of attracting suitors for the players who show themselves a level or two below our best and brightest…
not everybody is ready for the first team, and i don’t think that everyone is potentially first team material…there is room for at least a couple of experienced squad purchases…
TV is going to always be first choice Steve, well, thats if his injury doesn’t come back – i’m not a big fan of Kos either 😉
Bartley and Miquel – the latter i don’t rate but if we don’t buy one of samba or Chaill, i hope he stays….
Miquel is rumoured to be in the ‘Cahill deal’ 😉
rico, do you think arsene would come out and say that samir has not affixed his signature because he is not sure we are set up to win during the next couple of years? or because he doubts arsene is the best man to get the most out of this squad? when asked, arsene is, of course, going to say that there are “little problems” with the contract…that could mean anything. i have heard tons of speculation that samir wants more money – but none i would necessarily deem as credible.
i don’t think we should be so quick to label samir as a greedy mercenary. if there are other underlying issues, our club is not one that will publicize them.
point is that we don’t know what samir is demanding – if demand is even the right term – be it wages, assurances, etc…for now, i am willing to give samir the benefit of the doubt and say it is not as simple as many in the media seem to make it…
i heard that miquel was offered in a loan capacity as part of a cahill package…rumor only, of course…
Oliver thats what i am afraid of, we have bought One or two young defenders but if we buy two ready players whats the point, IG said they will be busy in the summer, He is going to have to be.
My view on the reserve players like, Frimpong, Coquelin, Lansbury, Bartley, Chuks and Afobe etc is down to one thing….
Desperation becuase I am fed up with watching us the way we are, i live in hope that one them will be the next jack wilshere, I live in hope that they will be ready to make a difference…
Wenger has done that!!
I, nor any other arsenal fan should be hoping that youth steps in to save our day, OUR club deserves better..
The youth/reserves will be ready when they are ready but they need to learn, and the only way they can do that is to learn from better players around them…
We don’t have enough of them do we….?
And that can only be bought, three players would do me, four would be perfect….
oliver – re samir, both you and i can only guess, neither of us know the truth do we – i choose to believe one set of rumours, you the other… That is fine and it’shealthy but, one thing we cannot avoid is the fact that he cannot love the club enough..
Otherwise he would have signed….
How long has he been with us??
That is why when Cesc goes, he deserves no hassle, the man has stood by us for so long, all he wants to do is go home…..
steve, my view is similar to rico’s…we cannot keep hoping for the next great kid to get us over the hump…we have some good young players and some not-so-good young players on the books…not everyone will make it.
what we should not do is be afraid to address the “here and now” needs in our squad simply because we have bartley and miquel already on the books. there are no guarantees the either of them will make it, and i think our club expects that many of our youth players won’t make it here, and so can be sold for profit.
Steve – in an ideal world, we would get rid of Squilli, and bring in Bartley – but even then with JD and TV’s injuries, Cahill and Samba would make sure we are set up for good in the defence…
However, I suspect we will get only one CH and he will be very tall 😉
I still don’t rate Kos……
rico, i think samir can love the club while still hedging his bets, absolutely…
he may love arsenal football club as an institution, but if he sees the extent of this club’s ambition as simply to finish top four year after year and “compete” (not necessarily win) for trophies – and if neither arsene or anyone else can provide assurance that this ambition won’t change, i would consider him perfectly entitled to consider his position…i certainly would under those circumstances. and for me, it wouldn’t mean that i don’t love the club – it may mean i don’t love the people running or managing the club…
my argument may be complete nonsense and it may indeed be all about the $$ for samir…if that is the case, the club should draw a line in the sand with him and prepare themselves to sell him if he won’t extend his deal. however, i am not convinced this is actually the case, and until i am, i am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. or until it becomes clear that he is holding the club to ransom. for, while considering his options, he also needs be prepared for the eventuality that the club and he will not come to an agreement…if this happens, samir needs to be just as ready to move on as the club should be…
Bartley and Miguel both on loan for a full season SP then Bartley will be 100% ready to replace squilli or NOT either way we’d know and Miguel needs a loan to play lots more toughen up and learn his trade, we def need 4/5 quality centre backs time and time again we have come up short there with injuries etc etc and we get plenty games to rotate them.
Good day all….. how rude of me 😉
AW continues in South America?
In my opinion, is to find players to replace Fabregas and Nasri, without great cost (up from 4 million to 5 million) and risks. Any player in Europe is hired at 20 or 30 million and may be a failure. Risking a maximum of 5 million can be an asset or in case of failure, be relatively easy to be transacted
JM, I heard he is back in Europe from end of last week….!
Good point JM with the costs from Sth America I think maybe wenger went to sort out the Alvarez deal if its at all true…?
We will see soon enough.
oliver – i’m sorry but i don’t think he loves us more than fly – and for me, we don’t need players like that..
I look to Dennis Bergkamp, Robin van Persie and think why cannot players be like them – even Henry gave us many years when every club in the orld wanted him…
Some may suggest TH left us after robbing us, but i am sure his breakup made him move…
I am fed up with AFC players using us as a stepping stone and personally, i think Nasri is doing that…
I’m not suggesting i am right, not for one minute but, time will tell….
Hi WATH 🙂
oliver, i wouldn’t say all that if he had been with us for 4/5 seasons, he hasn’t been here five minutes and he has yet to prove himself for an entire season…..
Hi JM, I think the Alvarez deal is done, but i think the club are waiting…
maybe waiting to announce 2/3 at once….
Right you mutley crew, i am heading offski – i have a funny feeling we will sign Samba and Gervinho in the next day or two 😉
That would be decent start wouldn’t it…
Be good and stay safe all
Nighty Night……….
Rico, I am sorry but i think you are living in the past, Love the club, i think that is Bull nowadays, Ronaldo has been offered 21 million supposedly to move to city, he is on 13million a year at Real and he has said no, he said he would be quite happy to sign for life at Real if they asked him, does that mean he loves Real, or he has enough money already and likes sunshine. Ive worked for loads of firms and never loved any of them, footballers are no different in my opinion. I moved from one job to another for a few quid, At the end of the day its just a job
Argentianian League. finish next weekend. Velez is the champion (Alvarez club). Brasil I think was finished. Last weekend was the final cup. July is the American cup. Colombia won Toulon tournament.
And the price of the players is very important…
News, comment by others ones:
a)Arsenal are in talks with Ivorian striker Gervinho, currently serving in Lille, said Frédéric Paquet, director general of the French champions.
“He wants to go and has been in contact with Arsenal. Let’s see what happens, “he assures, adding that the club is not willing to sell Gervinho for PSG.
“We’re not thinking about strengthening a competitor, ” he said in remarks to the newspaper La voix des sports.
This season, Gervinho, which only has one more year contract with Lille, scored 15 goals and ten assists in the championship held.
Frédéric Paquet also assured that the Belgian Hazard, the orbit of several clubs, is not transferable
b) Fellow team Fabregas at Arsenal, the Frenchman Bacary Sagna admitted the Spaniard wants to play for Barcelona.
“I can say that it is true that Cesc wants to go to Barca-fabregas wants to return his homeland, to their hometown. Want to play one of the best teams in the world, FC Barcelona, and understandably so.
At the moment, is still the captain of Arsenal, “Sagna admitted to the program by Luis Fernandez on RMC radio.
Hiring Fabregas is a big priority for Barcelona next season.
Steve, just quicky as i have to go…
my comment is based on what i hope for, i get what you are saying but, i just hope and pray for players to wear the red and white to be there for the right reasons……..
i know, i am dreaming but i want arsenal back, and when our young english/london boys finally get there – we will see it again, well, a few anyway….
A good mix is all i hope for, just like what wenger had when his reign began…..
I forgot:: is a good sense announce a player only when the League finishs. In my opinion, it’s what is done with Alvarez.
Morning all
New Post up….
