Six Reasons why Next Season will be well worth Watching….

As the Summer Window speeds to its conclusion on August 31st, most Gooners are concentrating their attention on the acquisition of new players but what of those talented members of the squad we already have and enjoy? And what does 2011-12 hold in store for them and us??

Jack Wilshere is the cream of the crop, a hugely talented and highly motivated rising star. A player who has everything, one of the best to come off of the Arsenal Production Line. His development since the summer of 2010 has been stellar. He has fantastic technique, allied to great strength and a wonderful winning mentality. Our Jack never ‘Goes Missing’…

He stands on the brink of becoming the teams most important and influential player, the heartbeat and brains of the side.
He can and he will, only get better and I am really looking forward to seeing him take more giant strides in his football development over the next 12 months.

Watching him will soon make me forget those current members of our squad, intent on ‘jumping ship’…

The King is dead, Long live The King…

Many fans still have and understandingly, unease about the clubs goalkeeping situation. I am not one of those, because in Wojciech Szczesny I believe we have a top quality goalkeeper. A goalkeeper with the potential to be between the ‘sticks’ for the next 10 years and more. The confidence he exude’s, spreads a calm across our back-four, a calm only disturbed by Squillaci..!

He has had his David Seaman moment at Wembley but that shouldn’t overshadow an encouraging first season as our No.1.
It’s behind him now and he’ll learn from it.

Now I expect to see him push on and grow into one of the best goalkeepers in the EPL and Europe.

Aaron Ramsey and Emmanuel Frimpong are both emerging from their own injury nightmares.

They have catching up to do but I’m going to enjoy watching them do it this season. They both bring their own particular skills to the team. They have great technique, pass the ball swiftly and accurately, keeping the team moving.

Ramsey shows great intelligence and elegance as he probes and ultimately dissects the opposition and full season from him should see us with a real top top quality player in our team.

Frimpong is all sinewy power and strength, a real alternative to Alex Song. Once his fitness is up to speed and he can stay the course for 90 mins, i think we’ll have a real ‘find’ on our hands.

Both have the hunger and desire to really evolve into major performers for our team and maybe this season will see that happen?

The last two have huge potential. Ryo Miyaichi and Benik Afobe. Both have looked impressive in pre-season, both have given me great encouragement and belief that we have another couple of really promising players in and around the squad.

Ryo could be a sensation if he gets his work permit. If he played for Newton Heath I kinda suspect that he’d already have a permit tucked away in his pocket. As it is, we’re waiting, still but I’m optimistic this time. Coming off the bench, against tired opponents, Ryo could be devastating, imagine Ryo, Theo and Gervinho ripping teams apart?

He is still very young, but has improved in leaps and bounds already. A work permit and a year under Wenger could see Ryo as a major player in 9 months time. Lets hope so.

Benik is an interesting option for Wenger to ponder. Fresh from a successful loan at Huddersfield town, he has matured and could be a valuable player to have around the squad, up to the New Year. We cannot predict what lays in store for some of our players, and having Afobe around, to come off the bench or give Wenger the option to rotate, is a real plus.

Of course, if he doesn’t get much exposure, then the option of a loan in the January Window is always there.

Well that’s my Six Of The Best. I for one, will enjoy watching their progress, they’ll be like six new signings won’t they? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hello! Nice post, i agree re the youngsters. I’m especially excited about Frimpong and Miyaichi. But what about Aneke and Coquelin? They have been getting some really good praise from Wenger. But even though we are lucky to have such talented players on our hands, we still need someone to guide them. That was the problem 6 years ago, we were all waiting in excitement, waiting for this crop to mature, but they never fully did, as we never had someone to guide them..

  2. Rocastle says:

Ryo, Theo, Gio…. Comin at ya!

I just find it worrying that at the arse end of last season we were relying in a 19 year old rookie to give us drive and belief. Very worrying.

We have a new goalkeeping coach installed now too, Tony Roberts, the guy credited to unearthing Woj.

  3. goonerstan says:

Interesting piece by online gooner….he actually captured the mood we all are in currently. Normally I look forward to the first game pf the season with huge expectation now am just filled with dread! Morning all sorry for spoiling it for y’all but am so bummed. Cracking post by the way allez.

  4. rico says:

    Morning Lee, Rocastle and ADK…

Make that two central defenders and i’ll be over the moon ๐Ÿ™‚

Who reckons ANR holds any truth about Jags and Cahill signing, I’d settle for those two ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. rocastle says:

The online gooner dont need hits, they wouldnt write a post with such authority and certainty without there being something in it.

Apperently the peasants have lodged a bid for Samba, I’d rather have him than Jagielka. Were missing a Sol Campbell type.

Rico, did you get the email?

  6. rico says:

Just seen it Rocastle, thanks – now I’ll see if i can work it out asap ๐Ÿ™‚

Me too re Samba, be cheesed off if those scumbags get him….

  7. allezkev says:

    Morning Gooners
    Thanks Rico/Lee/Stan/ADK..
Yeah, i go along with the centre-half…
That’s why i was so gutted for Bartley, as he might prove to be an option.

  8. rocastle says:

allez, hes gotta give Bartley a chance, along with the others, theyre not quite ready yet, but theres only one way that they will be and thats by throwing them in at the deep end, Theyre not all Wilsheres unfortunately. The same goes for Gibbs.

  9. allezkev says:

On Aneke ADK, he is a right monster, we might see him in the Carling Cup this season.
Isn’t Coquelin going out on loan again [maybe not]…
I’m sure i read somewhere that he’s going back to Lorient again.
Or maybe they just want him for another year?

  10. allezkev says:

Rocky i totall y agree with ya mate. i’d take Bartley, for all his rough edges, over Squillaci any day.
    Bartley will improve. Squillaci won’t…imho.

What was it that the Online gooner was rabbiting on about?

  11. rico says:

    Morning Kev,

I’d still rather see Bartley than Squilli, he’ll learn from that bit of bad luck but, did you see the look on his face when it went in??

he was mortified, how often do other players we have show such emotion when we concede? The lad cares, another one with a bit of grit in him me thinks… He may not be a born and bred Gooner but he shows heart and passion….

  12. Elkieno says:

I watched barfly at rangers last season and wasn’t impressed at all. The few games hd played v Celtic he was skinned many times by their wingers. Will he be EPL level and is he what we need? I hope so but not holding my breath. hope I am wrong but. Snd yes a good, solid no holds barred CB!
    Comin u Arsenal!!!

  13. rocastle says:

The online Gooner, along with Mylkes Palmer have it on very good authority that Cahill and Jagielka will both sign by the end of the week, Palmer goes onto say therll be a third for definite.

And yes, I would play Bartley over Squilacci any day, the guys a disaster. Remember that horrible feeling you got when Senderos had the ball at his feet? Thats what I get with Seb

  14. allezkev says:

Rico, that is exactly what i thought.
His big chance and that happens.
Defending is all about learning your trade. tony Adams was a bit wild when he came into the team, but he learnt his trade.
I just hope that the club and the fans give him time, because there’s something about him that makes me suspect that he will eventually be a cracking centre-half. i just hope it’s with an Arsenal shirt on his back!

  15. hec says:

Afobe, Miyaichi, carling cup players, thats all, what happened to the clear out , and what happened to “its going to be a busy pre season we`ll be bringing in lots of new faces” as I write we still have on our payroll Eboue, Almunia, Bendtner, Diaby, Vela and even Denilson is still a Arsenal player , what manager is going to pay these average players such huge salaries ,not many dopes like Wenger around, and where is all the new faces , I read that one of our scouts will be going to watch Scott Dann play a week before the season starts , that says it ALL about Wenger, I often wonder if he gets a bonus bringing in kids and selling them , does he see no profit in say buying SAMBA for 12 million and selling him 5 years later for 6 million.

  16. allezkev says:

Oh yeah Rocky, i also get that feeling. I also used to get it when Silvestre, Cygan and Stepanovs were on the ball.
What a trio that lot make eh?

  17. rico says:

    Welcome Elkieno

Don’t worry about the spelling, we don’t check that on here, we knew who you meant ๐Ÿ™‚ Good to see you here….

  18. EastSidePaul says:

Hey nice post, but can we please stop doing this, I know its a positive out look on what is a very bad situation we are facing at the moment, but we need to stop looking at our youth players and expecting so much of them. For all we know Jack could be off game for the entire season this year, its not likely, but it could happen.

All these players have huge potential, but potential is not what we need, we don’t need more false hope of a world beating team in 2-3 years, that has already been promised and has failed to be be delivered. Its time for Wenger to make a real push, spend the cash bring in the players.

Also must say, Emirates Cup, first time seeing Arsenal play live, had a great time, shame about the result. Amazing to see Henry back. 50 Boca fans in the corner really put us to shame, I hope the fans learned something from them, constatnt singing, whistles and drums. Not forced drab drawn out moans of Aaaaaarrsenal… Aaaaarsenal…

All in all was fantastic weekend, Stadium looked amazing.

  19. Erick says:

Morning Folks, top post and a great lift from all the doom…lets hope we can get the best out of them..I heard Bartley had a great game minus the own goal?

  20. goonerboiz says:

i hate to be the negative one hear but this is going to be arsenals worst season in over 20 yrs arsene is past it and has become a very delusional man he is now taking on the fans he lied to us i mean where are all the signings he promised us you talk of szchensy becoming a top keeper in a few years what guarantee do you have that he wont wnt to go to mancity and madrid in a few years and earn more money and they will have bring in another youth player we need to buy top players now we have the second largest revenue in the league but its a struggle to get decent centerback and keeper and its because of wengers delusional philosophy he thinks that is more important than the fans our best players will and will be replaced by youth aserne wenger out

  21. allezkev says:

ESP, fair comment mate. But i’m not gonna slit my wrists.

I know the players your talking about, who we’re still stuck with.
And i’m not trying to be wise after the event.
But i never really rated them, and i’m not a big fan of Song either!

I’m just more optimistic about the currant crop.

  22. rico says:

    Hi ESP,

With so little going on in our transfer window right now, we have to look to the positives, BUT

We all know we need experience in there aswell, maybe Wenger will buy that in the next couple of weeks but if he doesn’t, the players kev mentions are going to be really imortant…

  23. Adam says:

Morning Rico. Every day I look through the Arsenal news, more in hope than anticipation. And very day I feel a little more disappointed than I did the day before, or last year, or the year before that. Still, I take great heart in the fact that the steely-eyed poker player Arsene Wenger is taking such prudent care over Mr Kroenke’s money. Do you believe that Kroenke can actually speak? His silence is deafening. I would have thought that a statement of intent might be in order. I see we are down to Scott Dann now. Seems we buy defenders on price and not quality. Still, as Wenger, the master of the double bluff, says, we are a poor club and sweat is our fuel. I just can’t work out how he makes it through life on a measly ยฃ6 million a year. But let’s not worry too much. Late signings are his forte. Remember Silvestre and Squillaci were signed by the only man in the Universe who though they were good enough for our poor club.

  24. EastSidePaul says:

I really hope so, nothing would please me more.

Until last weekend, I never even knew Harry Redknapp had a twitch….

  25. goonerstan says:

we won’t be signing MATA….FACT. I can’t see le scrooge parting with 52mill for him. So there goes my “marquee” signing of the season! Oh bother.

  26. rico says:

    Morning Adam

I’d rather Dann than Jags, I wonder where ANR get the idea that wenger is to sign three players before Friday…..

  27. Adam says:

If you have read Myles Palmer before, that should come as no surprise. Nasri and Cesc are becoming open sores and I was going to say, have dictated the whole of the club’s transfer window so far. But, thinking about it I imagine that, even if the had both been sold by now and we had ยฃ60 odd million in the bank from them, do you think it would be any different? When I find myself seriously considering Joey Barton I wonder how things got here.

  28. rico says:

    So, the rumours are:

Barca are going to make a final offer for Fabregas, the player will sacrifce 5M of his own money on the Barca deal to help fund the move…

Citeh are going to make a final offer on Nasri – ยฃ22M

We are in talks with Joel Campbell about a move

We are going to offer ยฃ10M for Scott Dann

  29. Adam says:

I had a very interesting and lengthy e-mail from a lifelong Gooner who lives in Thailand yesterday. Not a radical by any means. Reckons that the Thai Arsenal fans are as perplexed as any of us as to what has happened to the club.

  30. rico says:

I don’t think it matters how much money we have Adam, I don’t think Wenger would ever spend silly money on players – that doesn’t really bother me either…

Sometimes I wonder if he faffs around like its a power thing, the media, ex players, fans etc all know we need a CH, it’s almost like he enjoys keeping us all waiting.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he has the player in mind and he’s just playing with our minds…..

No evidence of course just my own view, why else wouldn’t he have sorted this out by now…..

  31. Adam says:

Rico. I just re- read your last comment. If you are right about his mind games then the club is in trouble. As for “silly money”. What is that these days? Don’t forget that Wenger is on record as saying he would spend ยฃ30 million on a player. He is also on record as saying he wouldn’t.

  32. goonerstan says:

Do u guys really think we ll be signing anyone…cause I ve lost all hope. Jags says he’s happy at everton….campbell is playing russian roulette with us….valencia rejected our bid for mata…the list is endless!

  33. rocastle says:

No, theres no room for Gus Casaer in there Allez!!

with a strike force of Kaba Diawara and Frannie Jeffers and Pal Lydersen, you lot can eat my dust

  34. rocastle says:

Was that not almost the back four he rolled out at OT that afternoon?!

    Luzhny – Grimandi – Stepanovs – Cole

I was sobbing before kick off!!

  35. rico says:

Hi WATH, just got up ๐Ÿ˜‰

stan, he’ll sign one or two, it’s just a case of wondering how bad they are going to be ๐Ÿ˜‰

  36. rico says:

Manchester Untied are ready to make a move for released Arsenal youngster Jamie Edge, according to reports.

The starlet has been with the North London side since 2009 when he moved from local side Cheltenham Town. Edge played 20 times for Steve Bouldโ€™s Under-18s and make one substitute appearance for the Reserves in his two year spell with Arsenal.

The promising England teenager has been linked with United previously and will almost certainly be interested in the player who is now free to talk to other clubs.

    ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  37. allezkev says:

Stan, chill-out mate, there’s 4 weeks to go.
Remember how we eventually got Arshavin, it took time, but imagine if we’d paid what Zenit originally wanted?

  38. allezkev says:

    Rocky :lol;
Yes mate, whenever things get bad, they can never be as bad as having Gus Ceasar in your team.

  39. rocastle says:

Kaba Diawara, theres a trip down memory lane, that guy made Bendtners first touch look like Mara fecking donas.

He could trap a ball further than I could kick it…

    What a player…

  40. rico says:

    I think so kev…

That news about Jamie edge is a bit strange…. Has Wenger let one kid go a bit too early??

  41. allezkev says:

Rico, apparantly, AFC are chasing a Real Madrid midfielder.
    Jose Rodriguze {spelling}. He’s 16 though….

  42. arsenalDK says:

    Allezkev

Do you remember him? Thats a good question, thats his nickname here in DEnmark, but it has no meaning whatsoever. I don’t know how he got it. Theres a drink here called faxe kondi, i don’t know if drank a lot of those lol

  43. allezkev says:

ADk, yes i do remember him mate.
After that goal he got for Denmark in the European Champs’, we all thought we was getting a goalscoring midfielder….
And i was there, at Highbury, when he scored. We lost 3-1, but strangely everyone was so pleased for him, that the defeat didn’t really register.

  44. ArsenalDK says:

He joined us after the euro 92′ right?

I was only 6 back then, and had no idea who he or The Arsenal was ๐Ÿ™‚

But i heard that he scored only one goal for us ever, and was voted the worst signing in our history??

He’s a legend here i Denmark though, and the current assistant manager at Blackburn

  45. W.A.T.H says:

ADK, The nickname is indeed a reference to his liking for Faxe the lager….!

me in bed, I dont need an afternoon siesta like half you geriatrics on here ๐Ÿ˜›

Terry mancini in mine with Ted Drake up front… Sorted ๐Ÿ˜‰

  46. rico says:

I know Kev, but i often wonder why the brit kids go and yet wenger buys more from overseas…. don’t make sense… ๐Ÿ™

  47. rico says:

No a siesta Wath, a lay in ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have another one of those afternoons ahead, got to pop off, be back later this evening….

Enjoy the peace without me ๐Ÿ˜†

    Laters all…..

  48. Will says:

Where will we be when we have no debt, a great crop of players and a new stadium sponsorship paying the correct amount?

Think about 4 finacial streams with no debt and think of these incomes.

    Ticketing = ยฃ100m a season
    Commercial = ยฃ60m a season
    Sponsorship = ยฃ50m a season
Tv rights and prize money – ยฃ50M

That is a very conservative ยฃ260 million pounds a season with no debt.

    Not looking too bad huh?

  49. oliver says:

as am i…i am a fan of arsenal, more than anyone particular player…or manager. the club is – and will always be – bigger than the individual.

  50. Will says:

Exactly and I don’t support the club because we are succcessful or well known, I support the club because it is in my family. Arsenal is in my blood.

Of course i want to see us winning and challlenging but it is not even 1% of the reason I support the most glorious team in world football and I for one am glad we are not buying tin pots.

  51. Doc Brody says:

Another day with no new signings. Arghh it’s so frustrating! I think I’m going to take the rest of the week off (from checking Arsenal news) and then hope something’s happened by Saturday.

I still support Wenger. I probably always will. I’ll complain. I’ll criticize. But I’m always a little suspect it’s the board that’s tied his hands. And besides, i don’t believe another manager could do better with these players. I just wish they’d bring in some new blood on defense. It’s getting so painful. We should have wrapped up our transfer dealings a month ago and given the new boys time to gel with the team.

Oh, and trophy or no, I too am looking forward to a season with Theo, Gervinho, Wilshire, Ramsey, the Verminator, and a health Van Persie.

  52. TH14 says:

Interesting Blog, but in listing all the above, does this team really look like chalanging for Silverwear? With Cesc and Nasri going, do you really think this arsenal team will make top four??? I dont…

What I find disappointing, is why are we penny pinching? Why are we going around looking for Free transfers and players on final year of the contracts? Has Asrenal lost its appeal to sign big players?

Arsenal are now under new ownership, when this happened to Man u, Chealse, Liverpool, Man city, Sunderland, and so forth. None of the above clubs where compaining about not having much money to spend or there debts. I have to now wonder if Stan Kronke is the right man for us, as we seem to act like we still have a stadium to pay off, when its filled every oppertunity and our top players are being sold, and no top players turning up.

Seems like all our money we spend on something we love is going in to Stan pocket. Something needs to change, fans are getting robbed.

As all we can look forward to are unproven youths as stated above who are good but not as good as the competition…

  53. allezkev says:

Doc, have you read that post on On-Line Gooner, about some deals being concluded by the weekend…
Not sure where the guy got his info from, and i’m very suspicious of those kinds of rumours, but it might cheer you up mate ๐Ÿ˜‰

  54. W.A.T.H says:

Seems at the moment in all things Arsenal for every positive there is a negative and for every negative there is a positive…!

  55. Lee says:

“Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has insisted that the club must show ‘respect’ towards Arsenal in their pursuit of Cesc Fabregas.”
    hahahahaha!!

  56. Doc Brody says:

    @ allezkev. No I hadn’t read that, but i hope it’s true.
I’ve decided I’m going to check this blog once every day and look at nothing else. I’m risking my sanity (and carpel tunnel syndrome) by constantly clicking refresh on Arsenal/sporting news pages.

  57. W.A.T.H says:

Doc, if and when anything happens it will be plastered everywhere until then believe nothing its all bullshit…!

  58. hec says:

Wenger talks about transfer SILLY MONEY you know what I call silly money the 7.5 million pounds a year we pay that clown.

  59. Doc Brody says:

@ Rico: request… when or if a signing occurs, change your background image for the site! That way we’ll all know instantly at a glance without having to read a thing ๐Ÿ˜‰

  60. Merlin96 says:

Sometime this week, PHW may released this Press statement instead of saying we may go trophyless this season:
    It went like this:

“It is beyond belief that a marquee club like Arsenal FC should goes trophyless for another season. Wenger has a freehand to buy any player(s) he wanted and has no more excuse not to deliver a piece of silverware this season.

Wenger said to give him 2 years to delvier a piece of silverware. This is his 3rd and final year to prove he is right.

Moreover, our players’ total bill had exceeded 50% of FY2010/11 revenues and we will be reporting a small losses.

We need a trophy-winning team to grow the revenues to bring back players’ bill to not more than 50% revenues generated.

I will not go so far to say that Wenger’s job is on the line, but you can enver predict the future happenstance.”

  61. Merlin96 says:

To win the ttle, it is best to be knocked out in August 2011, rather than Feb 2012.

Thne, we can send in Arsenal Reserves to play in the Europa CUp like:

    ………………..Mannone

    …Jenkinson…Bartley….DJourou….Traore

    ………Frimpong………….Lansbury
    ………………..Ramsey

    …Benik………..Chamakh…….Ryo???

You do notice that 2011/12 squad is rather thin, lack depth and breadth…as Is truggled to field a decent Arsenal Reserves in CC and FA Cup competition.

Meaning, if I realised it so will Wenger; and he is definitely buying before August 31 else he is kinda dumb isn’t it?

  62. TH14 says:

@ Merlin, I think he will be buying but not sure if it will sufficent to challenge the likes of Man U, Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea. As been quoted in the press, the players we are linked with are the same sort of player Spurs have been linked with, so it looks like we be fighting for 5th place with them and maybe sunderland!

  63. W.A.T.H says:

It’s only 6million a yr hec……. not that much really !! Least he’s had a busy summer and always on his phone I mean he’s told us that…! ๐Ÿ˜‰

TH14, thing is 2/3 buys in the right positions and we’d be competative in all competitions…! Been saying that for years now though…!

  64. stevepalmer1 says:

First class post, been waiting for one like this since our friendlys started, your post says everything that i have been thinking about since i watched them together, your right AK we have talent in abundance the only one i would question is. Maybe i’ll wait for half a dozen games before i make that comment, the way this teams going i could make myself look a right mug.

  65. allezkev says:

Thank you Steve, and thank you Oliver, that is praise indeed.
Off to Dover in about 45mins to see the Stiffs, quite looking forward to it. A game of football involving Arsenal, with no pressure.

  66. allezkev says:

Many an afternoon i would creep over Highbury and take in a mid-week reserve or youth game.
    Happy Days…

  67. allezkev says:

Oliver, that is great news concerning Bartley.
Lets hope they haven’t done it to ensure they get a fee if he leaves and that Wenger actually intends to give the boy a chance.

  68. stevepalmer1 says:

Did i read in the comments last night, that young Miquel has won player of the tournament, where ever he has been playing.

  69. oliver says:

    ak, enjoy…

that is always a concern – do we give a young player a new deal in order to tie him down as he makes the progression into the first team? or do we give a young player a new deal in order to increase the resale value when we move him? a bit of both, i think…

nevertheless, i think bartley will have an opportunity to stake a claim for the first team squad. we still have most of the month ahead, but with the opening league fixture only 10 days away, i think it is becoming increasingly unlikely we will bring anyone else in. if this turns out to be the case, i expect bartley will have the opportunity to provide comepetition and potentially earn a berth in the first team squad.

  70. arsenal fan says:

    good post allekezev,
hope these rising talents help us to win the league and many other trophys…..

  71. arsenal fan says:

12 years ago this day we signed thierry henry and today we penned a new deal for bartley…..

  72. Will says:

I have a feeling that most of the despondents are under 30 and have been raised on the likes of Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira et al so they are somewhat spoiled.

  73. K-TR7 says:

Good read AK.you raise very good points about our youngsters but its now up to Arsene to add that 5% he always says we lack.

  74. Adam says:

Nobody with a brain expects Wenger to enter a slug-fest with Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd where spending is concerned as that would be stupid and unwinnable. At the very, very least most would like to see him fulfill his promises. Promises that he made to the fans during the past seasons. That would be a great start.

  75. oliver says:

    no news yet…

tomorrow’s members day…friday we’ll find out who we play in the cl qualifiers…

player movement? nope…not a peep at this moment…

  76. goonerstan says:

Anybody home? Still nothing to cheer about but hey at least we extended kyle’s contract….SWEET.

  77. goonerstan says:

I don’t DK….for the life of me I just can’t understand the guys running our club…..I think they all need psychiatric help wenger especially…how did we get stuck with these guys….Lord give me strength.

  78. ArsenalDK says:

Goonerstan.. I understand your frustration.. But.. There must be something going on, otherwise, why would wenger not buy the needed players? He has publicly stated that we are lacking defensibly, and that there are players available. The only thing that would explain all of this, is that he does not care about the club, and about winning things.. And I, for one, don’t believe that..

  79. rico says:

    Thanks oliver,

cesc is to be at the members day i read, bet he loves that ๐Ÿ˜‰ and both he and nasri are pencilled in for the new season team photo….

    interesting ๐Ÿ˜‰

  80. goonerstan says:

    I hope u r right DK……I hope u r cause I just can’t take the silence and inactivity anymore…hi rico

  81. rico says:

hi stan, i think we’ll get 2 or 3 players in before the close, i really do – who they are though, that’s what counts….. I think we’ll get

    Campbell
    Oxlaide whatever
    Dann or Chaill

  82. ArsenalDK says:

I’m always right stan, or so I would prefer ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m as frustrated as you, but luckily, i have learnt not to listen to rumors, it helps on my blood pressure ๐Ÿ˜‰

rico, does that mean we are not selling Nasri and Cesc?

Oh and BTW, the two danish clubs FCK and OB have progressed to the play offs las evening, does that mean that we can face them?

  83. oliver says:

as long as they – and notable others – are there, no reason not to…i have our first team photo from 06-7 (inagural ems season) with jose antonio reyes in it. remember that he moved to real madrid right before that season started…

squad numbers should be issued shortly as well…

what odds that al retains the number one jersey?

  84. goonerstan says:

Rico we don’t need two kids in one window….so no mata! I thought we were promised a marquee signing. So we ll lose fab4 and nashit then we replace them with Campbell and oxpan chamberpot! Wow this just great…

  85. rico says:

oliver, go wash your mouth out ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Almunia Number 1… Never in a month of Sundays ๐Ÿ˜›

Hi JM, Holidays over yet ๐Ÿ˜‰ No news….

  86. goonerstan says:

I think oliver is right rico….I remember paddy V lining up for the team photo on members day back in 05….he even wore the captain band…weeks later he was sold to juve. I wouldn’t hold my breathe on that one.

  87. W.A.T.H says:

As they say Rocky plenty time yet b4 the season starts no counting ya chickens yet mate ๐Ÿ˜‰

  88. goonerstan says:

You and me WATH…just sell those two buggers and let’s get on with the season….we are the arsenal for crying out loud. With or without fabregas or nasfit we ll still be the arsenal…so flog them off to barca and man shitty respectively..we don’t need players like them. We have a rich history filled with classy players like bergy roscastle booby p and thiery henry…..ooh to be a gooner!

  89. rico says:

stan – those pics mean nowt, they’ll soon take another photo when cesc and nasri have left ๐Ÿ˜‰

  90. rico says:

I’m waiting for the new signings Rocastle, you seen it’s in the side bar too now ๐Ÿ™‚

Here here WATH, no chickens being counting yet, I’m winning this league ๐Ÿ™‚

  91. W.A.T.H says:

Agreed Stan, if they don’t wanna be there they need to be outed, put cesc up for sale to the highest bidder fuck barca…! same old problem is getting wenger to buy quality in to replace them both though…! I’ve always said I dont give a shit who leaves its about who is brought in and so far thats rather disappointing but not unexpected..!

  92. rico says:

But, we all know Cesc is Wengers golden boy, he won’t sell him to the highest bidder…

That, coupled with the Nasri situation really baffles me as we are a club that won’t waste money…

    Doesn’t add up to me….

The board and Arsene Wenger are not ruthless enough….

  93. rico says:

    That’s why it’s called a ‘Fantasy League’ WATH ๐Ÿ˜‰

Of course I know women know nothing about football, i’m good on netball though ๐Ÿ˜‰

  94. Will says:

Guys, stop stressing, you are Arsenal supporters, you will support Arsenal no matter who plays for them, always remember that.

  95. rico says:

    You get worse WATH ๐Ÿ™‚

if I get the pins out, my eyes will be open because i want to make sure i hit Rooney arse ๐Ÿ˜‰

  96. W.A.T.H says:

I thought that was how all you older ladies played the lotto pins n numbers ๐Ÿ˜‰ fantasy footie will work the same.. its how wenger buys centre halves ๐Ÿ˜€

  97. rico says:

Got to go now, the wooden ones are calling…

Catch up tomorrow all, be good and sleep well when you get there ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Nighty

  98. W.A.T.H says:

Not rubbing it in at all Stan, your enthusiasm was infectious but the problem was you got to happy to soon mate, seen it all before but hey you never know if they sell the two wantaways then Mata may still happen…!

  99. W.A.T.H says:

I hope we sign him to Stan although hand on heart I’d prefer a couple of defensive signings before Mata thats where we really are poor and in need of strengthening.

  100. goonerstan says:

Its defensive signing all the way for me but wenger is not a defensive kinder coach. He believes in pure attacking football. I don’t see him getting more than one defensive signing but I ve been proved wrong before.

  101. goonerstan says:

Yep that’s the day we ll all know how long we ll stay in the title race..good night WATH…..have a good one.
