So the truth is out about our two Polish goalkeepers – both of them came to us having been shown the way by KrzysztofΒ DowhaΕ„. Arsene Wenger has nothing but praise for the man who has now seen three of his student cross the shore to ply their trade in Britain.
Of course we know that Fabianski and Szczesny are playing at the best club in England but DowhaΕ„Β is also responsible for Celtics oneΒ time-keeper Artur Boruc who is still Poland’s number one as far as I know. However, how long that remains is anyone’s guess.

Despite Wenger singing the praisesΒ for Dowhan louder than Susan Boyle can belt out her latest single, he has never tried to recruit him.

We have the two Polish keepers, would theyΒ and our other goal keepersΒ benefit from having himΒ at the club rather than Gerry Peyton? After all, Peyton has been working with Almunia for six years, has he really improved during that time?

Wenger obviously doesn’t think so, he says:

No we didn’t try to sign DowhaΕ„, we watched Fabianski, I don’t know who brought us Wojciech but when he arrived he was tall and young so he did not always master everything well. But DowhaΕ„Β at Legia has produced some fantastic goalkeepers. In Poland, they produce some fantastic goalkeepers.

On Szczesny he says:

I have followed him since he has arrived here. In the youth team people spoke about him that he could save us games. But he has come through those difficult times and has done well here.

What does Wenger mean, β€˜I don’t know who bought us Wojciech?? Did he not buy him, if not, then who did?

We have all seen Fabianski improve a littleΒ but now we have finally got to see our youngest Pole perform in the first team, I have a sneaky feeling it will be the twenty year old who finally stakes his place for his club and country for a long time.

That β€˜long time’ though could be dictated by his own body….

Wojciech Szczesny suffered a setback through a serious injury a couple of years ago. He broke both wrists whilst lifting weights in the club gym, the bar fell on his arms and he broke both wrists. Six months later, a little bit of metal work in place and he was back training with scars in place!

Our young Pole knows what he wants, many β€˜ordinary’ people wouldn’t come back from a double wrist break, let alone a goal keeper so that tells us all we finally have a future number who is the proud owner of:

Attitude, winning mentality, determination and commitment – without any of those we would not be watching him play now.

So, to whoever did buy him, well done you!!

Finally, not that it’s really news, the club have confirmed that the already injured,Β young Japanese forward Ryo Miyaichi, will be joining the Club in January 2011.Β Wow, bet you didn’t see that one coming, shame it wasn’t David Villa, he was on fire again yesterday!!

Have a good day all, only seven days to go until we face Chelsea….
