Yep, the transfer window is now shut, no last-minute surprises for Arsenal fans and that’s the last time I include any rumours about us buying players, well, that is until the summer of course 😉
While Chelsea were splashing the cash, Liverpool were following suit. Arsenal, well they just confirmed the signing of Ryo Miyaichi on a ‘long-term’ deal. We won’t see him play though as he is just one of many who is now out on loan, he’s gone to Feyenoord for the rest of the season.
No surprise really was it?
Saying that, I’m glad we haven’t spent £35 Million on a player who has played just half a season in the Premier League and all because he’s English.
We have what we have in the squad and come the end of the season we will all see if Wenger was right to believe in them, I personally feel he has once again buried his head in the sand when it comes to our central defenders.
One good thing though and that’s Arsene Wenger is thinking of recalling Henri Lansbury. Many fans would prefer to see Lansbury getting his chance ahead of Denilson, I know I would but I know other fans will come on and say Lansbury is not a defensive midfielder. Well my answer to that is nor is Denilson.
On to tonight, Denilson is injured so no fear of seeing him lining up against Everton!
No new injuries have been reported other than Samir Nasri of course who is expected to be out for three weeks. Sagna should be ready to challenge replace Eboue at right back and with Squillaci suspended the reliable pairing of Djourou and Koscielny should return, as should Clichy in place of Gibbs. Our midfield/forward unit should be the same as our last premier league game minus Samir of course and I hope Arshavin fills that gap despite playing 90 minutes on Sunday. He hasn’t played too much recently so his body should have recovered and he’s due a big game. Lets hope tonight is the night he really finds his true form.
It’s not going to be easy tonight, no game against Everton ever is but it’s fifteen years since they beat us on our home ground and that was at Highbury. We have played out 194 matches and we just pip the winning stats 95 to 58. We are the only side who has yet to concede a goal in 2011 – that’s some achievement when you look at who we have been up against.
Everton on their day are a very good footballing side and I don’t know how they sit where they do in the league. They are on a good run, having lost just one of their last eight league games. Evertons problem has been too many draws, twelve already this season.
It’s going to be another toughy but we just need to carry on doing what we have been in the league. Stay patient and take our chances when they come and that means all of them and defend well of course. 🙂
That’s about it for today. Like I said, we have who we have and tonight I hope they go one step further forward to showing the world of football just why Arsene Wenger trusts in this ‘squad’…
Have a good day all….
morning…..
Morning Rico,
Liked and agreed with the Post.
The one item I am not sure of is your Lansbury hope. I just don’t see him making it at Arsenal, but time will tell.
arsenal fans should stop sulking over king kenny’s spending you reap where you sow. you cant win trophies with high school kids only because you are interested in making more revenue by spending less. money makes money. you let a distraught torress leave and get a suarez n carroll who wish to play for a team
what an lame excuse. Wenger fukked it up and will backslash him. Even a loan would have done favours. Denilson and Almunia still in the squad is utter bullshit!!
Morning rico,all.
Yep, wether we like it or not this is the squad till the end of the season. So we an either get behind the team of sit down grizzling about it. And seeing that were still in all four competitions (somehow)… I know which of the two makes the most sense.
Great pic and caption rico!! Hehehe
emma, who’s moaning about king kenny, i think its hilarious you have replaced Torres with Carroll – he’ll sure get you into the CL…
Morning guys.
Utter madness. £50 million for an injury prone player and £35 million for a player who has completed just have a season. Utter madness. Caroll will be found out in his second season like all players are and it will be interesting to see how he copes.
Truly great players find a way to do their thing no matter what, the average players don’t and fall after their tricks are discovered.
As for tonight, nothing less than a win will do but for the love of God, we need a performance and not have to rely on a last minute dodgy penalty to getthe result.
Please drop Nik B Arsene’.
Hi RA, time will tell i guess with Lansbury, i think he has what it takes but we’ll see… 😉
Hi Rocastle, glad you liked it, i just couldn’t resist…
arsenal4ever – i hoped right up until the final minute a loan would come in, one injury to JD or Kos and we are snookered until TV is back….
Oh and Liverpool now have Lou and andy as their strike force
Want that one.
Morning Will, cant see nikki starting tonight…
If Arsenal score first in will be game set & match, Not only that we cant score goals we cant keep a clean sheet.
morning
hadnt seen that lanbury news
were’d you here that rico?
hi dave, good to see a toffee on here, is cahill definately out?
If Chelsea win the cl,they will be the one laughing. I feel a central defender could have come in handy. I hope Wenger is right otherwise fans will be baying for his blood.Btw this is not the first time he has failed to strengthen the team.
morning rsd
Arsenal’s growing injury list may force Arsène Wenger to recall some of the players he has sent out on loan.
Seventeen young Gunners are currently picking up valuable experience away from Emirates Stadium with Henri Lansbury (Norwich), Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Aaron Ramsey (both Cardiff), Craig Eastmond (Millwall) and Carlos Vela (West Brom) involved in recent short-term deals.
Wenger often extols the virtues of the loan system but he is wary of leaving himself short of options during a busy period for the Arsenal first team after Samir Nasri and Denilson both damaged hamstrings during Sunday’s win over Huddersfield.
“Denilson looks to have a hamstring problem but certainly less serious than Nasri,” noted Wenger. “But I have given a few players on loan, I might recall some.”
Exactly who he recalls will depend on the conditions of each individual loan deal.
“We have Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, we have especially Henri Lansbury who has gone on loan. I can [recall Kyle Bartley] but he has not played at all in the Premier League,” said Wenger.
“It is difficult at the moment. Ramsey is out on loan for one month. If it is a month you have to wait for the month unless we have exceptional injuries, then you can have the request [to recall a player]. But Ramsey needs games so even if you recall him he needs first games before he plays.”
that at the ofcl
gunnerwill, first they have to get him fit and back on form – i think we would all love us to have bought torres but no way would wenger spend that kind of money on one player and i still dont believe any one player is worth that kind of money…
central defender was definately needed but maybe TV is closer to a return than we are led to believe, that can be the only reason he didn’t buy surely…
Red Arse, I dont get you at all:”… Lansbury hope. I just don’t see him making it at Arsenal…” We have accommodated players like Denilson, Diaby and Bendtner and a host of others who aren’t even championship materials, so why not Landbury? He has that English ‘fire’, the drive to get the job done even if he lacks the silky skills of a Jack or Nasri. We need fighters, not layabouts, and I think his experience in the championship has put that fighting spirit in him which will place him in good position in the team. If Jack, touted as the heir to Fabregas can play in the deep midfield role, why not Henri? Who would you rather pair in front of the defence if Song is out? A Diaby,Denilson or Landsbury? And apart from playing in that deep position, I believe being a hard and tireless worker, he can also replace Song in the B2B role which is one role Denilson cant play in, Diaby has not played well and Frimpong who showed signs of being able to play there is still out injured.
If you lack the strength of a Song, surely you can make do with the fighting spirit of a Jack to get the job done as the defensive shield. Denilson continues to make childish errors in that role and I believe when Landsbury and Frimpong return next season, it will be game-over for both Denilson; Wenger should cash in on him.
its off the afc website rsd
Hi Steven, i’m with you on Lansbury, i look back to the CCgame agaisnt the Spuds, he worked hard and for every minute he was on the pitch – and just how much did his goal mean to him…
he knows how important beating that side down the road is and i’m not sure some others do. Lansbury is going to do for us what Ray Parlour used to, i really rate him and its about time he had playing time, like you say, wenger gives that time to some who make errors every game, time to give this lad a chance….
At least El Haj Diouf has finally left the PL…. Nasty little player, hope Bartley doesn’t ‘learn’ from him at Rangers….
Boo! rico, your photos do make me laugh. 😉 Our chances of beating Everton improve if Cahill is not in their line-up. Here’s hoping…
I think Lansbury will make the grade at Arsenal, too. And Denilson’s form is making players in the reserves look the better deal.
thats what i meant ofcl
must of missed it due to all our transfer activity stories on the site
From what I have seen of Lansbury, he looks a pretty decent prospect. Makes good passes and unlike Denilson, will try and pass forward.
Denilson needs to know he is not a set in stone player, he needs to know that if he continues to have these rubbish games, he will lose his place.
Boo to you agag, you’re about early, glad you like the photo of Arsene… 😉
rsd, i’m not up on all the abbreviations in texts etc…
hej agag how’s you been ?long time
It was a great shame Frimpong got injured as i still believe denilson could very well have gone by now, still the summer window is not too far away…
i really struggle to understand why so many think he is so good…
Hi all.good read and i loved that pic.lets hope Aw’s decision not to buy doesn’t come back to haunt us.
Hi!
We have 19(!!!) players in loan. Liverpool change Torres for Suarez and Carroll. That’s completely diffrente change Suarez for Carroll. They are going to replacie their way of playing. My prognostic: AV will be try to obtain Gameiro (Lorient) and probably Cahill (I read somewhere chelsea want him but Arsenal, at the same time offer a little bit more… (???!!!!) )
I am with you Rico, I have been watching football for years and I don’t think he is that good. Keeping the is all well and good but at one point we need to go forward to score.
‘once a red always a blue’-Torres.
Back from my minihols, rico, rsd. It’s drudgerydrudgedrudge again tomorrow, but at least I get to see Arsenal later. 😉
How are you, rsd? I hope you’ve been well. 🙂
Boo, KT. We live in hope… Maybe, we’ll get VDW or Vertonghen in the summer.
Hi Steve,
I watched Lansbury in the youth teams for a number of years. He has always had superb skill and creative ability.
He was somewhat older than Jack but I (subjectively) put his skill, at the same age, as on a par with Jack’s.
The only serious deficiency he had was a lack of pace. In the Premier League pace is essential and I think that is why he has not been given many chances by AW.
As I said to Rico, time will tell, and I hope I am wrong in saying I don’t think he will make it.
It’s an opinion, based on watching the guy (and other youth players) on freezing cold days with what seemed about 20 other fans. OK?
Red, could he play the anchor role? Pace is not nearly so needed sat in front of the defence.
Like the picture..seems to sum up the whole management structure from Boardroom down.
FIRST QUESTION WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ” NOW WE HAVE THE STADIUM WE CAN COMPETE WITH THE MAN U’s AND THE LIVERPOOLS”?
We havnt even competed with the Spuds, Villa & Newcastles in the market let alone the above and Chelski /Manshitty.
As for the Lansbury debate…he has the talent and fire we need but he is not French or Spanish. If he was he would been in the team at 17/18 years of age, no problem, as would JET.
Bartley, I get the horrible feeling that AW thinks he is not up to it because despite the disgusting lack of CB cover for 3 seasons, and the buying of Squillacci, this lad cannot even get a CC game?
At the risk of becoming know as a boring critic, I would like to repeat my mantra from 2005 in which I wrote ‘ This present AFC squad could become great if and only if..Arsene admits that he has a massive blind spot in his coaching make up ie; he cannot build a defence either from buys or youngsters. He has failed with every buy so far since Tony and Bouldy left’. Of course this was before the Vermy signing. Sadly the hole in AW’s ability is as wide now…
I am pretty sure that at the start of November most AFC fans would have wanted to see JET & Lansbury as regulars on our bench and not Denilson & Diaby. BUT AW only sees his foreign imports as special sometimes.
Finally, I think we will still do well in our own little league ,The CC, The FA cup, and the battle for fourth…that will keep the board happy!
in a new baby enduced coma for last 6 months just about getting some life back again
sorry @ agag must get used to blogging again
Hi KT and thanks, i hope it doesn’t either…
So soon agag 🙁 but yes, bright side is you see the game, its not being shown in the UK 🙁
Gunnerpete, do you really believe its all about being English? If it were to be then he shouldn’t be in management…
I don’t get why so many of our younger lad don’t get their chances though, it’s not as if we have eleven Messi’s keeping them out. Our first eleven all fit is class, but for me it’s about time we saw Lansbury, Jet, Chuks, Bartley etc etc on the bench. I always harp on about how the English boys love the club they are at, they have AFC in their blood…. some other however do not!
Baby-induced coma, rsd. 😆 But babies are cute. 🙂
Gunnerpete, I think Lansbury won’t be worse than Denilson. And that’s setting the bar low. He seems always up to the challenge. He even volunteered to be GK at a U21 game late last year, right?
Will,
I personally think Henri could play an important role for us, perhaps in that anchor role. I thought he was the real deal as a kid. But the signals from AW aren’t good.
Two others I thought were a cut above in the youth teams were Randall and Barazite. Both 6 footers with great skill, but Barazite has been released and poor old Randall seems to have been out on loan forever.
I am also really disappointed by the treatment of JET. I loved watching him play. He is huge and full of talent but he is not getting the chances.
For the record I cannot stand Denilson, as Rico knows from when we were on a different blogsite, but he gets chance after chance and I simply have never understood that.
Oddly enough, Denilson is not just lacking in skill but he also lacks pace, so maybe there is hope for Lansbury and Randall after all. But I have my doubts AW agrees.
You’ve got to love spuds resilience.failing in bids left right and centre.they even went for phil neville!add llorente, forlan and rossi to that list.
@kt arry got get himself in the press
i mean what would he say in his column
KT,
Do you think ‘Arry is really bidding or is he telling porkies?
Apparently he also made a £25m bid for Carroll last week, but got turned down. Must be his aftershave! 🙂
I am mystified regarding JET. Wenger constantly tells us how great he is going to be yet never gives him a chance, rather sticking with Nik B who needs 8 shots to get one on target.
We are so close to being dominant but unless Wenger has someone in his ear reminding him of the club’s world standing, we will not progress.
RA, I think AW really rates Henri 🙂
Wenger – Lansbury will be an Arsenal player Dec 2010
Henri Lansbury has the ability to make it at Arsenal, according to Arsène Wenger.
The midfielder broke into the first-team squad at the beginning of the season and scored in the Carling Cup win at Tottenham in September but did not make another start before joining Norwich City on a short-term loan move.
Lansbury has shone for Paul Lambert’s side in his four appearances so far but Wenger believes he can, and will, end up playing at a much higher level.
“For me, Lansbury will be an Arsenal player,” said Wenger. “He is doing extremely well [on loan].”
Another Arsenal midfielder out on loan is Aaron Ramsey but he has been frustrated by the weather since joining Nottingham Forest. “Ramsey’s bad luck was that he went [on loan] and the games were cancelled,” said Wenger.
“So we don’t get the games we want, but he is doing well.”
so signing of transfer window any thoughts
Morning all,
No suprises then, we will again post a generous profit at the end of the season, but posibly with a cup or two, yes we could have bought players, but if were honest with ourselves, we are not desperate for them.
Vermaelen will be back in the next few weeks JD has proved he can fit in well, Kosey has come on leaps and bounds, Frimpong to come back Ramsey nearing match fitness and about to bounce back in. What with others also feeding back in, my concern was up front, with shooting with power and taking the many chances we make, but you all keep saying AA’s form is allmost there, and RVP is now fireing on all cylinders, you all love Czezs. Wilshere Cesc Nasri Song Walcott all quality so why the long faces. Wenger has built an absolutly great squad, those players i have mentioned gelled together right, will beat Barcelona, if they can beat the so called best in the world we can win everything, i’m happy the board are happy and Arsens happy.
JUST SMILE HA HA
Morning Steve, i bet you were smiling as you wrote all that 😉
Ok guys, how many of the current first team squad would you keep?
Will,
Frome the squad as per AFC.com – 20, maybe 21….
Morning rico, still smiling, never ever thought Wenger would buy with our league position,we have a great team, its how he presents it that causes me concern, but he keeps getting the results, who am i to doubt him, i forgot to mention we have Sagna who is one of the best Clicky brilliant on his day with Gibbo not a bad back up, i doubt Denilsons role but others love him, we have Chamakh as back up, and still havnt tried Theo down the middle yet. I still like Vela we have Lansbury some like him, we have JET who some rave over. Miakhi or what ever his name is, get his work permit and his in for next season. the future is looking very Rosey, who needs to spend.
Rico,
You are right about AW’s comments on Henri but giving him one sub appearance in a CC match does not seem to back his words with actions.
When you write down the list of 1st team mid-fielders we have, which we did some weeks ago, and then add Henri, PingPong, Aaron JET, Coquelin and Randall we are stuffed with mid-fielders, so I think a “pruning ” is acoming.
Where’s Wath when you need him? 🙂
Will, given a choice between JET and Bendy it would be JET for me. You might be surprised with the number of others who would disagree.
Still that’s football and everyone is entitled to their own opinion and who knows who will be proved right? 🙂
There was one result on Sunday really cheered me up, and that was Real and Moaniho losing! He always takes credit when his teams win but always gives them a rollicking when they lose. Pillock!
Steve, love your enthusiasm but it is obvious we need a top class CB to work when we get injuries and we deffo need a clinical finisher.
Will,
Probably easier to say who should go!
Denilson, Eboue, Bendy, Almunia, Rosicky to start with.
I actually think Big Al is a decent bloke but time and tide etc.
I also like Eboue and Tomas but one has no end product and the other looks as if too many injuries have crept up on him.
Will, morning,
squashy kosi JD Song Vermin how many do you want, only two can fill that position and we have two many now, Clicky has Gibbs. Sagna has Eboue thats where i think we need a replacement
Haha Steve, its not all bad apart from at the back…. that is if all our main players stay fit…
RA, i think he has not played more of a part because he was coming back after a long term illness, i think we could see him play a part in the final 6/8 weeks and then next season its up to him to push his way past Denilson…
Now that shouldn’t be too difficult for him 😉
Ok, I see your numbers and after JD and TV, who is an actual dominant CB who can handle high balls?
Right now I would sell no-one, the windows shut and we need them all to get through the rest of the season – i just wouldn’t play denilson…..
😆
Hello, RA and Steve. I’ll jettison Diaby, Denilson, and Almunia. TR7 is a favorite and I don’t want him to go just yet. VDW would be a good summer purchase, I think.
jd and song are the only two players who can head in center half roll.
There isn’t one, Bartley and Miquel are next in line and neither have played in the PL and I haven’t seen either of them play enough to pass comment on them…
But, if reviews about Bartley are to be believed, he should be bought back from his loan right now….
And he’s pretty tall, 6′ 3″ nearly 😉
agag, you must not keep tomas just because he’s your favourite 😉 😉
rico, I have emailed you. 😉 And I am hopeless about the crocked ones. 😀
Aw wouldn’t sign messi even if he came and knocked on his door with a cheque of 200 mil to facilitate his own transfer.its like if you went hunting and an antelope brought itself to you, strapped itself and killed itself but you still refuse to take it home to eat it.Aw has money but still won’t spend it.he has taken a huge gamble and i just hope we don’t collapse in March as a result.
Bonjour Gunners,
Despite what is being commented today, I will go far as to say that I’m quite happy with Arsene’s decisions including NOT splashing out to buy any fancy names in attack which I know some ppl have been shouting for & letting out all promising youngsters on loan where they’d be getting much needed playtime so that they can be gauged as future Arsenal material or not.
EXCEPT the one major decision of not bringing in a CH for cover for the rest of this makeorbreak season for his team. I can’t believe he’s trying to shoot himself in the foot again. Bringing in someone on loan would have made sense & I for once can’t believe when he says that he can’t find one that would meet his requirements.
Kudos to Rico on the “I personally feel he has once again buried his head in the sand” comment & pic.. nicely done! Very lady-like of U for having resisted saying “head in @$$” instead which is what I think it deserved (unless he knows something about TV’s condition that we all don’t)
After the spuds failed to sign a new forward its seems they’ll have to be baled in the latter stages of the season.
KT, good comment about Messi, AW is his own worst enemy sometimes, how much money does he need to save in the AFC Bank….
One word of advice to caroll, women in liverpool will kick your ass…
excuse the pun ktr7 lol
… And I think it’s high time we all stopped with the oft-repeated brainless cliche that Arsene prefers the foreign legion to the English lads!!
I never believed that, not even for once in the last decade. And especially now that he has fast-tracked exceptional English talent into the first team vis-a-vis Lil’Jack, Gibbsey, Ramsey (if I can be excused for calling a Welshman that)
And if U r one of those clans that argue that we should be going after 35Mill players whose only talent are that they are your countrymen, then please kindly refrain coz that would be the end of any meaningful discussion
morning all…good post rico – now we can leave the transfer speculation to one side and concentrate on the business at hand…
i was at highbury the last time everton won on our ground. 95/6 season, 2-1…john spencer scored both everton’s goals and southall had a fine game in goal for them…
Well said KT, I do think the spuds would get baled out… They look like they could be on their way down, not even finish in Europa Cup places, run into a lotta credit problems & eventually having to get baled out, i.e. sell Bale & co to buy the new batch of Darren Andertons
Hi Rennie, i think we all agree on the not spending silly money but like you say, one CH is all we cried out for…
re the picture, trust me i was tempted 😉
Breaking news:Nicklas Bendtner tried to leave Arsenal on deadline day but missed the door…
Rennie, i don’t honestly believe he favors the overseas players, its just been a case of the english ones haven’t come up to the mark, until now – we have a few good ones and now they deserve a chance…
morning oliver – thank you re the post and you are right, now its the business to get down too starting tonight, whoever plays need to show why the boss has faith in them, no more sloppy lethargic performances….
KT, you are on good form again, i really like the last one about nikki 😆
our first eleven has generally played quite well when together, so hopefully they can continue to that. samir has been huge for us this season, i think he will be missed, but hopefully we will still be too good. we are already at the point, however, where we have little margin for error with injuries. should either cesc, song, or either of jd/kos go down, we’ll be in trouble…
JET and Lansbury need to come back now, Rambo is only on a months loan to get match fitness and I can see him going straight into the first team upon his return.
Further reports indicate the torres deal almost collapsed last minute as terry and torres’ wife failed to reach an agreement…
Don’t even think about that happening oliver, that is such a huge worry, just one of those you mention will tear the heart of our side…
Agree with taht Will, rambo cannot be re-called anyway and yes, its better for him to get match fit and then he’ll have a big part to play in the run in. Its hard to believe how far we are into the season already.
One bit of good news about the chavs getting torres, they have to play the mancs twice, i hope he hits them for a few goals in the first game, then goes out of form again….
We need the MAncs and Chavs to draw bother games.
I want their unbeaten run to end Will
As do I but the way Chelsea are coming back, do we really want they getting more points?
kt that jt torres one goes “Breaking News: Torres Chelsea deal breaks down after John Terry fails to agree personal terms with Torres’ wife….”
I see chinese whispers have ruined it
see fergie and rio mubblings have broke here
you seen the everton email yet?
good point Will
Now lets get serious.i don’t think torres will be successfull at the chavs if he and drogba are forced to play together.the sum of parts will be greater than sum of the team.
where will Anelka fit in too, if he is the one to make way i can see him sulking off in the summer….
Afternoon all, I am wondering if AGAG has survived the shock news of her beloved Fernando joinin the russians…?
Greetings Rico 😉 have ya miz’d me ??
N then you all ran off…………… bloody typical, bout as typical as Wenger spending nothing on a new player…!
rico, have you heard if tim cahill will or will not feature for everton? he would have just returned from quatar after playing into extra time in the final – he always scores against us, so i will be very happy if he is not available for selection…
hiya wath, welcome back…
Ah, WATH, where have you been, i have sent out a search party for you 🙂
I have missed you, how are you 🙂
Morning Oliver, how’s you..? Cahill does indeed always score against us and normally a header as well. Quite amazing that as yet we have not heard the normal rhetoric from Wenger about how close we were to signing this one and that one bla bla bla….. Suppose that will only come when JD or Koz get injured in the next week and we stuffed for centre half’s…..!
Hey, WATH, old man. How are you? I am heartsore 😥 over my second favorite Spanish player joining the Chavs. It turns the stomach. But what can you do?? 😥
Hello, oliver. I’ve been trying to see whether Cahill is available for selection, too, so far nothing.
rico, I knew you’d like the food photos. 😀
I haven’t oliver, the toffee fan that came on didn’t answer me this morning when i asked about him, i hope he doesn’t play and of course they haven’t got that pienaar guy anymore have they…
Rico xxxxxx just for you 😉
Even a search party would not find me where I been 🙂
I am good thanx although not to chuffed with our transfer activity ooops i mean total lack of rather, yet again mr stubborn has missed the boat…!. Now watch that come back and bite us in the arse like you know it’s gonna…!
We’ll soon hear all the excuses i’m sure WATH, smae old same old after a transfer window closes……
agag, you are soooooooooo bad 😉
AGAG, I’ll give you old man, how comes I’m supposedly old and your the one who always needs holidays..???? Hmm think you need to be put across my knee and given a good hiding for your cheek 😉
Football is finished as we know it, while the russian mafia and the oil barons can pay what ever they like with no action from any of the powers that be then footie really is a complete farce and totally surreal.
I’m not going to ask anymore about that then 😉
AW’s taking a big risk on TV but we can only assume he’s very near fitness and a return after his small procedure…..
cahill is the biggest question for me right now. i hope he does not play, i think everton have missed him while he was away playing for his national side.
hi wath and agag…no doubt there will be something or other to “appease” supporters disappointed at the lack of signings.
i’ve made my position known previously – i think we really need defensive cover in this squad. we didn’t sign anyone, so i am over it. it’s time to move on, we have an important game tonight. if arsene chooses to come out with any sort of condescending “we were close to signing so and so…” then he is the one keeping the issue alive. you don’t bring anyone in, then don’t say anything – no need for that, all it will accomplish is polarize opinion further…
Rico, 2b honest am sick of his bullshit and treating us all like idiots, he is never pro-active we are a quality centre half away from being in a good position to try and win the league but yet again the pig headed man will do it his way and fail, we have only four centre backs one is a walking disaster one hasn’t plaid for months and no news on when he will play again so one more injurt and we are properly in the shit, his answer to this is we have Song, what crap as usual square peg for a round hole, Song is not a centre half and even if he is played there we then have who to play in his role in midfield, diabolical or denilson, oh pls don’t make me laugh they are both cringeworthy. He has done this crap three yrs running and hasn’t learned a thing. Sunday showed how very average we are when our best players are rested simple as that.
Oliver you and I have spoken on the subject previously and AW seems totally oblivious to what we are crying out for yet feeds us the same old drivel of quality and depth in the squad, as said all now very boring and very tedious…!.
On Everton – Tim Cahill has now returned after playing for Australia in the Asian Cup but Moyes intends to give his goalscoring midfielder a few days off.
GOOD!
WATH, you won’t hear me arguing with your comment, our first string is class, our second string is miles away….
I’m getting fed up with him too, why say he’s going to buy if he knows he not, he must think we are all fools…
Well, in my case i am, i honestly thought he would stick to his word….
wath, everyone needs an element of luck to win something – look at man united this season. they haven’t yet won anything, but the amount of things that have gone their way is unreal. we fail by not making our own luck, but taking risks with a small first team squad, by neglecting experienced cover in certain spots. this has been happening for a few years now. i don’t like it any more than you do, but i don’t make these decisions, so i am not going to rant…if we suffer key injuries again, we’ll be in trouble and the gamble will have backfired yet again…but we are not there yet…
Thing is though Oliver he’s making the same mistakes year after year and we have money to spend and he fails to remedy the problem it’s not ranting my friend it’s pointing out the obvious and we pay a lot of money to see him make the same mistakes and not buy the quality that we need and it’s 2 players only and yet he carries on with this stubborn bullshit.
Oi, WATH, you’re being cheeky. Again. 😉 And mysterious about your whereabouts. rico, I’m guessing WATH locked himself up in his GG warehouse. And enjoyed every minute of it. 😉 I’m not too far off the mark, am I, WATH?
Our second string should find strings with which to fashion nooses and hang themselves, rico. But that’s just me.
oliver, I think I’m resigned to AW not ever buying anyone of note. He pulled a rabbit out of the hat with TV, but I watch Squilli, and ask myself, what the…?
wath, i have ranted on this previously and the point i tried to make is that i am done ranting. i was not suggesting you are ranting – i agree with many of your arguments, but i see it as something we cannot do anything about. for me, i have to focus on a huge game tonight – remember how they outplayed us at the ems last season and we got a lucky late equalizer? we need to win tonight just to keep pace with united – they host villa (who won at ot last season) tomorrow night, in what should not be an easy fixture – villa are playing much better than earlier. so this is not only an opportunity to keep pace, but perhaps close the gap on them as well…
if we get burned and lose key players to injury, i’ll vent about it then, but not yet, not while we have a very important – and difficult game – in a few hours.
Trouble is, we cannot change anything right now and can try and stay rational about the lack of a new CH but wait until the injury happens (obviously hoping it doesn’t), then that will all go out the window and we’ll be angry and for what, one mans stubborness….
Has anyone seen Miquel play??
That must have been one large warehouse agag, he’s been gone for what seems like months…. 😉
I’ll have you know, It’s a rather large warehouse and who say’s I’ve finished 😉
Wikileaks reports that the warehouse was supersuper sized. 🙂 See, WATH, you’re being all mysterious again. 😉
Good news on Cahill, rico. 🙂 I think we’ll get our CH in the summer; once we’ve offloaded the deadweights. 🙂
Oliver, your right there is nothing we can do about wengers stubborness and ego and we only want to see our team win but it leaves a sour taste in my mouth that he treats us all like idiots and yet I have to pay a lot of money to watch my team play every week and yet still listen to his drivel. I now choose not to go in very often as it’s my token way of saying I’m not happy but for me not going in there are many to take my place that are happy with what he serves up. I think tonight will be a very hard game but i think the longer we kid ourselves we are good enough will just prolong the pain when the truth hits home and we fail dismally again when it matters at the business end of the season.
AGAG, I just know you wanna join me just not sure if its just for the GG or the over my knee spanking, I have a feeling both 😉 😛
i do too agag, but from the reserves current squad 😉
afternoon
rico, I fear someone has consumed much too much GG again. 🙂 WATH, I think you should go to bed and sleep the intoxication off. 😛
rico, we must be optimistic. We’ll get VDW in the summer, and he’s an RB, but maybe he can play as CH.
Hello again, rsd. 🙂
hows things? wath agag rico looks like the full team is here for match day
game on telly in philippines agag?
(have nb correct)
not in england
agag, sadly i won’t believe any signings will happen now until they are done 🙁
Full house, whats this Bingo 😉
No TV coverage for us tonight 🙁
I think three matches are live tonight, here. Chavs, Mancs, and us. 🙂
rico, I just hope we don’t hear any excuses. But AW seems to have a list of ready ones. 🙁 Sigh.
He best had agag, desperately hoping he has done the deals in january but they won’t be joing until the summer..
Oxo
Hazard
VdW

http://www.firstrow.net/ are good wath
Thanx RS, there you go Rico more for you to try 😉
WAO WHAT A DAY SD -London IN DA HOUSE! Any body?
Okay maybe not.
But today has being about how mad the transfer market has being it just shows to tell you that Abramovic is the coach and wants to fix the team himself.
I need Red Arse or Oliver to calculate how much Chelsea will be losing per day when Torres gets injured. That will be funny.
Wenger will be shaking his head right now.
Liverpool would have got a better deal had they not bought Carrol for £35mil but you can see that Liverpool doesn’t a proper scouting structure and Kenny has being off football for donkey years wouldn’t know how to scout for players.
The could have bought a £15mil striker and a good defensive midfielder somewhere.
But right now , Arsenal is just looking like the most sensible club around in this modern age and i am proud to be proud of it.
I could see some Liverpool fans in here as well i just love it when other fans do that.
Carol will score but is not a world class £35mill?
Newcastle owner is smiling right now.
By the way Peoples we are second and Fergie is constantly looking behind checking us we are making the leaders scared and catch them we must.
Oliver please tonight i bet our first 11 is not up to what Chelsea spent yesterday? (£75Mil)
🙂 🙂 🙂 : )
I am off. rico, I’ll make sure to take photos of garden greens in a few weeks. Good night, kids. (That includes you, WATH, you young man, you.) 😛
Nite AGAG enjoy the game… be good and I’ll think of you when I savour my GG…! 😉
SD, yes we are a well run club if only our manager went and spent the money that we have made on a quality centre half I’d be very happy indeed…!.
BYe guys
VM is coming back i guess that is why Wenger didn’t buy.
Catch up soon agag, be good,
Hi SD, thats what i think too re TV
Thanks for the link rsd, i’ll give it a go…
Got to pop off for a bit, back in a little while….
Cya for the game Rico…..! 😉
Afternoon all.
Boo, who’s in the house 😆 😆
The problem is, we are in need of at least two positions, maybe three. How long will TV, Cesc, Rvp, Nasri stay around with a sub-standard squad and never winning anything of note?
http://www.smileyhut.com/silly/tumbleweed.gif
full strength line up apparently rosicky in for nasri
Will, but we cannot do anything about until the summer now…. i’m praying AW has sorted a few things for the summer already….
rsd, i hoped AA would fill in but rosicky is another player due a good game…
glad to see he has selected the side we all wanted and expected…
hi rico, i am back…
szczesny, clichy, jd, kos, sagna, jack, song, cesc, rosicky, robin, theo…
The last goal sicky scored was against these mugs one year ago in the same period.what are the odds he scores tonight?…30 yard thunderbolt is just what the doctor ordered for him.
Afternoon all, If all went well in the hour mark expect AA or B52 on the field.
I am curious if will we use the same formation as before or we will change to a modified 4-4-1-1
boo… good line up oliver….
chelsea already 1-0 down…
KT, he needs one too….
Good oliver, may they concede more too…..
if that particular score holds, the mackems will move ahead of the spuddies in the table…
we’ve started slugglishly, to say the least…our core is playing as though they have not had recent action.
so much for that, chelsea equalize thorough pen. and then rooney gives united a 1-0 lead inside a minute.
now we’re on top here…hopefully an arsenal goal is coming…
how was that not offside?
Bollards 🙁
i can’t watch, no stream will connect…. 🙁
we’re playing better than in the first ten minutes, but…as arsene would no doubt say, our first eleven seem to “lack sharpness”…perhaps this another side of mass squad rotation?
right now we are eight points behind united. we really need to pick it up…song is down, he and szczesny collided. first sagna, now song.
everton just had a couple of decent chances…we are not dominating this game in any sense.
thanks for the commentary oliver, doesn’t sound good….
not very good at all…1-0 down at the half…yes, the goal was offside, but everton worryingly appear more up for this than our players do.
five live say that saha was ‘clearly’ offside….
8 points, i cant see the mancs dropping that advantage….
he was…it was obvious to everyone but the referee and his lino…
but something is missing from our players out there. everton are playing as though it means more to them and it is hard to say they do not deserve the lead, as wrong as allowing that goal to stand is…
Let’s hope Wenger earns his wage then.
I’ve seen some shit refs n linesman in my time but these ones are right up there with the best, Mason is one smug fucker how many crpa decisions is he gonna carry on making and the offside goal is beyond funny…! We’re also playing pretty crap Felliani is taking the piss and running the midfield.
Is Song injured and off??
clear offside kozzz touched the ball slightly, but Saha was more then 1 meter offside.
We weren’t dominating the midfield as we usually do.
There isn’t Theo on the bench, so I can’t scream bring Theo on. Rosicky looks good so I can’t say bring AA on.
Maybe more central role to TR7 to allow Jack and Song to go up front aswel.
Mancs are 2-0 up now…
Song didnt come off Rico looked to of shook it off…!
not watching is so frustrating….
good, thanks WATH, parlour is really angry about the goal – hes on 5live….
song off for diaby…we instantly get weaker in a key position.
oh yippee diabolical is on for Song….
Song off now then and Diaby on… oh dear, come on diaby prove me wrong….
now our players are getting petulant and frustrated. we’re not going to get anything from this if we don’t settle down and play…
robin is going to get sent off if he does not cool it…
players are still seething about the offside goal, seem to be forgetting about the task at hand…
arshavin for rosicky, who i did not think had a good game. he has not played for quite a while, so..
Great finish from AA
sarrrrshhhhhhhhavvvinnnnnnn!!!!!!!
tell me more…….. pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese
we’re level, rico…through arshavin
bent just scored at ot to half villa’s deficit…come on villa!
i guessed that bit oliver 😉 😉
come on now arsenal, get the three points for all us fans sake….
we are looking better now, this is the game we need to win this 1.
RVP is about to shoot.
wouldn’t it be something if we could get the winner and villa could nab a draw…..
its not impossible…..
2-1 KOzzzz from a corner kick :D:lol:
WOOP 🙂
kosssssssssssss
kos with a header off a corner…2-1 up!!!!
You serious Stef ????????
Now to get a third cos this aint over at 2-1
definitely AA plays better through the middle behind the main striker/s
This is not good for my heart……
1 more goal to put this 1 to bed
Stef, we have been saying that, the only person who doesn’t see it is…. Wenger…..
Square pegs round holes!!
mancs 3-1 up 🙁
chavs 3-2 up 🙁
Come on, make it 3-1 afc….
It seems odd but the pairing Cesc/Diaby is better then Jack/Song, Sagna looks OK lil shaken up thoou.
Stef – you serious??
Bad game for Theo then by all accounts….
yeap more fluid rico, they are quicker.
Clichy had a chance for a goal but he was looking for some1 else to shoot and it didn’t work.
Diaby is quick and when his head and feet work together he can be good, just wish he could stay fit and live up to all the hype he gets….
is theo being smart keep going over or is he getting battered….
Five minutes 🙁
End Game 2-1 it is AA changed the game we once again look good 😀
chavs win 4-2 🙁
phew…match report later tonight, rico.
never mind the chavs rico, we need the mancs to drop points
lansbury just scored n-wich’s likely winner versus milwall..
PHEW, bloomin henry, we get three points the hard way yet again…. but three points it is thankfully, just hope Song is ok…….
and even my ‘local’ team scored a winner in the 90th minute, sadly though it was against Rambo’s side….
oliver, thank you re the report and great news about Henri, i am really hoping he comes back home soon, we need him…
i am so chuffed too for AA, maybe next game wenger will play him where he should be playing him…
Stef, they are behind us and i don’t want them winning other than the last one of the season against manure – now they have bought some old out of form striker they could be a serious threat to us….
bloomin heck, bellamy nicked an equaliser for cardiff 🙁 🙁
I’m off guys, be good and thanks goodness for three points…..
nighty night all…..
Morning guys.
15 – 6 – 2
Morning Will, i take it that attempts to goals 🙁
New Post going up
