Sell Ozil because Wilshere is better says football legend!! Seaman wants league trophy for one reason…

Morning all.

Ray Wilkins says:

I think Jack Wilshere could be the equal of Ozil, if not better.

He has a total commitment around the pitch. Ozil has wonderful touches but when he plays against the big teams sometimes you see him go missing.

I’d have Sanchez, all day long, Wilkins told talkSPORT. I’d bring Jack Wilshere back and let Ozil go.

And there was me thinking he’d sought help for his drink problem….

Jack is Jack, Mesut is Mesut but when it comes to the impact either can have during a match, Mesut wins hands down for me. Perhaps Wilkins has a bit of a point about the big matches but let’s be honest, it’s not only Mesut who goes missing in these kind of matches, especially if he’s referring Utd game away, so highlighting our German maestro is bang out of order for me. Oh, and isn’t he a Chelsea fan, one who watched Hazard go missing in every game last season?

He’d like to see Alexis remain in the Premier League though which I guess means he’d be happy to see him at his old club or even City, as Arsenal are never going to meet the demands of the Chilean…

I know I should ignore what these idiots say about Arsenal but it’s been going on for so long now, it’s become bloody annoying.

Anyway, Charlie Nic reckons our squad is the strongest in the league and we have depth all over, unlike Chelsea he says who if suffer an injury to Hazard and/or Costa are in deep do do……

So might we be if we lose Alexis and Mesut…..

One result went our way last night at Wembley with the neighbours winning. The result keeps them in Europa and we all know how much they love Thursday/Sunday football. The more games they win in that competition the better, that is until the final stages of course as we don’t want to see them lifting any kind of cup. All being well the same will apply to Utd after their match tonight although that game is under threat because of the pitch being frozen.

The group games in the bigger competition are now over and the club we could draw on Monday are:

Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Bayern Leverkusen, Benfica, Porto or Sevilla. Avoid the first two and we might just be in with a chance of going further, although like David Seaman, it’s the Premier League I really want us to concentrate on:

You look at the squad and the only problem really is keeping Ozil and Sanchez at the club. I think he’ll be saving his money for those two.

It could be (Arsenal’s season in Europe) but I would take the Premier League first just to shut everyone up.

We’re entering a crucial part of the season, January is going to be vital. They’ve shown they can beat the best in both the Premier League and the Champions League this season.

They’ve now get to keep that consistency going because that’s where the club have fallen short in the recent past.

That’s not quite true really as apart from Chelsea, we haven’t beaten any ‘big’ club in the Premier League yet and the same can be said of the Champions League. I’m not knocking the way we won our group but apart from PSG, you’d have expected us to beat Basel and Ludogorets and in the last game, we did it with style too which was great to see. That ‘big club’ test will come soon enough as on the 18th December we travel to Man City, the team most pundits thought would win the league this season, that was until Conte switched to three at the back and they changed their minds.

The Champions League doesn’t kick off again until the middle of February so from now until then, the Premier League is all the squad and manager needs to focus on, apart from a trip to Preston in the FA Cup early next month.

Next up is Stoke at 3pm on Saturday afternoon. A different kind of test for this Arsenal side but one would think Arsene Wenger would know exactly what to expect from a side managed by Mark Hughes, especially away from home….

Have a good day guys….

Morning Rico and all. I really thought that, after being dragged from his car in a recent drunken stupor and ordered to undergo urgent treatment for serious alcoholism, Uncle Fester would have decided to keep his private thoughts to himself. It is odd how most of these ex-players and journalists seem impatient for us to lose Ozil and Sanchez, preferably to Man City, Chelsea or Man U. I guess it’s so they can have an easy story and recycle the same old stuff. Their disappointment when Bellerin recently signed a new contract was palpable.
By all accounts Fester is a rather unpleasantly weird man, diminished by addiction and probably trying to scrape up the odd few quid here and there to fund his love of cheap alcohol. I would recommend Turpentine spirit. Let’s hope he continues along the path towards inevitable self destruction while still worshipping his football God, Mourinho.

  2. Marshall says:

    Hi all,
Wilkins should be checked for what he’s smoking. The media hates when it’s all smiles at the arsenal. I stopped reading that garbage the so called pundits throw at us. It’s just utterly stupid what he just said. Maybe he’s in depression.

  3. Alex says:

Yes, Özil missing in big games… And Sanchez? Missing a penalty against Liverpool with the result we all know. Özil wasn’t on the pitch that day… Btw, Cazorla was too.

  4. Marshall says:

The pundits and journos are envious of the stability at arsenal. Their beloved United and Spuds are now mid table teams. Chelsea and scum dippers are always fluctuating and their favourite Pep’s City can’t even contain themselves as seen over the weekend. Their managerial darling in Mourinho is a now a sh*t show… they always want us to fall and it irks them we have been the only team on the up from two seasons ago. Stuff them!

  5. Le Coq Monster says:

    Morning all and thanks Rico.

    28,000…………………………….the number of empty seats at Wobbley last night ! 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

Played with Wilkins for SENRAB, cant remember much about that season apart from me scoring at least one in every single game and winning the League and Cup……….he probably assisted me on quite a few ………….he turned into Uncle Fester and played at the highest level !………I looked like David Cassidy and had girls knocking at my door………..football or girls ?…………if only I could have thinked with my head ! hahaha

  6. frednerk says:

    Morning All
    Coq….Senrab..You must be 60 then
In that team do your remember the Keeper
he looked after Wilkins and also went on to run a club
    in east london.

  7. Joaquim Moreira says:

The worst team in the last 16 th is Leicester.
We can draw with Germans. spanish or Portugueses.
This year, the seconds are very good teams.
Bayern is Bayern; Leverkusen is dangerous; Madrid is the champion; Sevilha is stronger in the UEFA competitions; Benfica is good; Porto too.

In favor: statistically, 80% or more of the clubs that finish in 1th, go to the next phase.

  8. tsgh says:

    Good morning Rico and all…

    Agreed there JM.

Scott- does Sanchez saying over 5 years ago when conte was the manager of the Old lady mean that he would like to play for the chavs in the medias’ eyes ? 🙂

  9. Le Coq Monster says:

Morning Fred……………..yes 60 !…………..the only players I remember are my two mates who asked me to play for SENRAB…..one went on to play for Wycombe and the other had Arsenal trials but didn`t make it, it was only years later that one of them told me about Wilkins and that basically even though in East London……Senrab was like a Chav pre- youth team, but if you google SENRAB, you`ll see they have an enormous amount of past and current players including an Arsenal Invincible !………and of course John Terry who unlike me managed to think with both parts of his body and play footbal and shag women ! hahaha

  10. frednerk says:

    Coq
I know senrab well I played against them many times
    3 years up.
Barnes street was just around the corner to me.
Them days most of it was floodlight football.
around Wapping,Bethenal Green and Globe Road.

Wilkins lived miles away and lived with my mates family
Mile End Road,he was the keeper at Chelsea thats how
he ended up living with him.

Tommy Langley also played in that side, and went on to play
    in greece with Trevor Ross.
No go area on this site(stories).

Terry nearly signed for us a couple of times.

Bet Wayne Bridge kept ringing up his Mrs
after all that time in the jungle.

Hello boys and girls ?great time to be alive. Watching the uncouth one squirm gives me great pleasure. Hope it continues till he’s finally kicked off the epl once and for all.

  12. Le Coq Monster says:

Fred………………….From Bethnal Green, I used to play a lot of floodlit football at Meath Gardens on red ocre pitches and some around Wapping……..funny, we used to get picked up from Mile End station when playing for SENRAB !
Terry`s hero was Tony Adams !………and although we think of him as unsavoury, he did bale out SENRAB with some money a few years ago !……………..had he joined us instead we would be looking at a probable hero………………kind of like the guy for scoring with the bastard that knocked us out of the CL Missus !. hahaha

  13. Le Coq Monster says:

    Afetrnoon Loonie Goonie 🙂

So much to do today and not enough time !…………..so glad we have 24 hours and didn`t go metric with the time as 20 hours wouldn`t be enough !.

  14. allezkev says:

Didn’t John Terry play for Senrab?

His brother used to play for Dagenham and Redbridge when my Uncle was the kit man there…

A couple of Spud players came from Senrab as well if I recall…
Was Ledley King at Senrab, Fred..?

  15. allezkev says:

Ah, I should have read all the comments before posting…

Tony Adams played for Gidea Park Rangers, my son played for them, back in the day…
Glen Roeder and Ray Parlour came out of that club as well…

    Afternoon All…

  16. Le Coq Monster says:

I feel hard done by Kev !……………not even a mention of mates Micky and Martin …………..

  17. allezkev says:

Senrab Street, just off of Commercial Road close to Stepney Gardens…

Back in the day an area where dockers came from and workers in the clothing industry.

    Classic London working class…

  18. Le Coq Monster says:

True Kev………………I ended up in the “rag trade” as a top cutter ( eastman machine )……also known as …sweat boxes !……………..dont miss it one bit ! hahaha

  19. allezkev says:

Didn’t Sanchez Watt come from Tottenham?

Maybe I’m mixing him up with another young kid…
This kid came from Broadwater Farm…
Famous for riots and other stuff…

They like a riot in Tottenham…

How long have you been in Lands End, then Cocker?

  20. Le Coq Monster says:

Since 1991 Kev !………………….not Lands End though……which is the most overated dump in Cornwal !

Near to Launceston…………the gateway to Cornwall.

  21. allezkev says:

My uncle was a top man on a Hoffman presser, Cocker…
My Mum and two of my aunts were machinists…
I had another uncle who was a Hoffman presser, it was a major employer.
My Mum worked in Green Lanes.
My uncles in Shoreditch, it was all over in the 1960’s up till the 1980’s then it started to disappear…

  22. Le Coq Monster says:

You call them riots Kev, but knuckle draggers call them parties……….same with the burning houses. cars etc`…………they call them BBQ`s

  23. allezkev says:

I’ve been to Lands End, nothing there mate….

As you say Cocker, massively overrated…
    I don’t really know Launceston…

There was a guy on here a couple of years ago who lived around Ilfracombe (spelling), I think he was into diving and snorkelling…

    Rico will remember…

    Afternoon Rico…

I gotta go to work, lata Cocker

  24. Le Coq Monster says:

I worked mostly near Brick Lane, Kev…………with my brothers, one was also a Hoffman Presser and the othera pattern cutter/designer……originally my old man had a workshop in Chiltern Street where we were trained…….then the council bought the property for St Mathias School and it got left standing for years !.

  25. Le Coq Monster says:

Should be two t`s……St Matthias School , my old school……………….I lived next door to it !

  26. allezkev says:

Ah no, this was St Mathias School, Newington Green, N16…

Blimey, it was getting like All Our Yesterday’s, ha ha ha…

I know Chiltern St, isn’t that close to the bagel shops in Brick Lane..?

  27. Le Coq Monster says:

I see there`s also a St Matthias School nearer to Newington Green…………probably Kev`s one ! ……………………………………..got panicky there for a sec`, thought Kev might have been the Kev I bullied for his Flying Saucers and Sherbet Strawberry`s ! hahaha

  28. Le Coq Monster says:

Yep, Kev !…………..and just down the road from the Pie & Mash shop in Bethnal Green Rd………………..fcuk me I`m dribbling now ! hahaha

  29. allezkev says:

I’ve been in the pie n mash shop with Brudder Lee and Mr Adam in Bethnal Green Road…

But as a kid our local was Cookes in Kingsland High Road, close to Dalston Junction where you caught the trolley buses…

  30. rico says:

Evening guys… loved reading the comments about the old London…

Hi Kev, I can remember the guy, he owned a surf shop but I can’t remember his name right now…

  31. Le Coq Monster says:

    Evening Rico.

Feel I`m going to explode if I see another Alexis/Ozil transfer/contract rumour……….unless we tie them down the stories will not stop !………especially if they keep putting in top performances that are better than the players who are on more wonga !………….wish I could filter out the stuff !…………………I prefered it when we were shit and slagging off Wenger was the most popular news ! hahaha

  32. rico says:

Evening LC, just read that AW said both will stay regardless and he’s prepared to lose them for free in 18 months rather than sell them…

  33. Le Coq Monster says:

I hope he sticks by that as I dont care about the money and would rather have them for 18 months and lose them than sell them in January or Summer.
I was of the same opinion when RVP went……………I`d rather have kept him for one more year than have sold him to Manshafter as he won them the league, who knows had he stayed we may have won the league and he might then have signed an extention.
I still dont think we will win the league this season, but we at least currently in the hunt, but without our super two we wouldn`t be in the hunt…………….can anyone tell me who we could possibly get to replace them who would be better and available ?………………………………………silence !………imo…no one !.

  34. potter says:

All you guys from the East end ,I feel quite out of it coming from Kentish Town .Must be at least 5 miles . Kev will know exactly. My football was at the Inns of court , Hampstead Heath ,the Scrubs and ended up at Athenian Finchley before county league in Hertfordshire. In all probability with London being so large our paths never crossed but at the grand old age of 69 you never know what could happen next. However it puts the comments we make about the game into perspective. Although none of us made it to the top we all have a pretty fair grounding and know how the game works.

  35. Marshall says:

Morning all, you all should have a re-union. Am imagining had LC gone pro and become a chav or a spud player, now he’d be a 2 penny columnist writing crap about arsenal.

Speaking of crap about Arsenal, these Ozil-Sanchez transfer saga are hard to ignore. I have been, really but as a club to quieten these two penny columnists tie down the deals asap. Or has Theo passed on his negotiation skills?

Surely when the club signed class players they knew the going rates for keeping and maintaining such players. It’s not about a player being greedy but like in any profession, if you are among the best at what you do in the world you ought to be compensated like one. Hope it is sorted.

  36. rico says:

    Morning Marshall.

I feel the same, at least neither will be sold before their contracts expire. Mind you, we’ve heard that before haven’t we?

  37. Lee says:

I think I read that 12 or 15 PL players earn more than Alexis (not quite in Brudder’s Adam & Kev’s league but…..)
If it were me I’d streamline the current squad, put Ozil & Sanchez on £250k then add a Griezman or Lewandowski……show some proper intent.

We don’t need to sell so don’t fucking do it, make The Arsenal even more of a force. Wasn’t the move to the Emirates supposed to facilitate this??

  38. Marshall says:

Good points Lee, we are meant to be world force. Hell we are always in the top 10 of highest revenue making clubs. Sanchez is easily among top 3 players in the league at the moment. Well let’s see how it pans out.

Rico, they always say that. It’s an open secret how Arsenal like making their monies, they wouldn’t let such talent go out on a free. They never hesitated in taking the 24m for RvP.

  39. rico says:

As said Marshall, we’ve heard it all before eh. How would the club pass on the amount of money those two would get on a transfer deal. Just hope they really want to stay put….

  40. Adam says:

Morning Rico and all. Seems to me that, as we’ve had some decent results lately, the press have seized upon the contract situations of Ozil and Sanchez as a stick to beat the club and a device to drive a wedge between the club and the fans. They seem to have succeeded in both endeavours.
