Sagna gone? Serge Aurier drops a huge hint! Sir Chips wants more….

Morning all.

Subtle as a brick!

It is true that I would be a bit disappointed to stay in Toulouse after a season like this one. I want to try something else.

I have never prioritised a club in England as even the promoted clubs are respectable, so I would take the opportunity for the one that will show the most interest in me, that will give me the most game time.

After that, you can’t really say no to Arsenal.

It is a club with history, with a French manager, who has welcomed many France players. Plus, Arsenal are always thereabouts when it comes to trophies and a club that plays in the Champions League.

We see so many who talk the big talk about Arsenal, so many who suggest that we as a club want to sign them, yet seldom does that player ever end up gracing the turf at The Emirates. In fact, I’d say none do.

Aurier’s comments are different. He obviously wants a move away from his current club, he clearly wants a move to England, in fact, I’d say he really wants a move to Arsenal. Could he make it any clearer? I don’t think so. Not sure telling the world he wants to leave the club he’s at right now is the best way to go about things though…..

This story has gathered pace over the weeks and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a deal has been agreed between the two clubs.

I know, I know, I’m always wrong……..

Sir Chips has been talking about Arsene Wenger:

I hope he will continue and there will be successes to come in the very near future. We have added one trophy, and we want more.

Anybody who does a job like that, for as long as he has, deserves every success that comes his way. He did it and I have never seen a man more delighted.

Our manager hasn’t had too much to smile about over the years and at times, especially after a hefty defeat, he’s looked like a man with the world on his shoulders. But finally on Saturday he looked like ten years had been taken off his life as he smiled and got soaked in Champagne.

What Arsene Wenger has achieved by spending so little money will always be admired by some, many in fact but this if football, not an investment business and if Arsene Wenger and the board/owner want more success, they need to dig deep and pay for it.

I’m not suggesting for one minute that we throw money at other clubs for the sake of it, just sign who we need and make sure they are good, darn good!

Then Arsene Wenger might just enjoy the kind of success Sir Chips believes he deserves…..

Finally, well done to young Tafari Moore who last night helped England Under 17’s beat Holland to win the European Championship in Malta.

Gossip:

L’Equipe report that Bacary Sagna has signed a deal with Manchester City and The Sun report that we are set to off Cardiff £6 million for their goalkeeper David Marshall…..

That’s it for today, have a good one…..

    Morning all..
Oh Sagna why??? One of those cases where you can’t really blame the player or the club. I can’t wish him goodluck since he’s with the enemy but i only hope he retains his abilty not to beat the first defender with his cross.

  2. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Morning Chappies and Lasses.

    Morning and fine article Lady.

5 days already since we lifted our last cup. Syrup out.

  3. rico says:

    Morning again all…

Not too long I hope JM

It’s a great shame jeff but I guess he wanted more money and trophies as he gets older…

  4. Hell Raising Devil says:

I have nothing against Sagna either. He has gone for the money and gd luck to him. It is his last big payday. As JWJ says, I hope he retains his ability not to beat first defender with the cross. And also leave gaping holes at the back when we play them again.

  5. Sukky says:

Nice post rico,Sagna is gone we all know that but some still don’t wanna accept it.No matter what happen I will always respect sagna for his hardwork, commitment and loyalty.Wish we sign that french lad before WC.

  6. Hell Raising Devil says:

It would be more hilarious if AFC did not spend too much big and win plenty.

Its like waiting for buses Rico. You wait a long time and then three or four come along.

  7. Sukky says:

Lol.Thanks dude.if aurier is that good, let’s get him because I don’t rate jenkinson at all.

  8. rico says:

    Thanks Sukky..

    I reckon so too Devil….

I rate Jenkinson Sukky, the more he plays the better he’ll get imo…

  9. Hell Raising Devil says:

    only 2 out Sukky?

There are Freebies this year at AFC.

    Sagna, Bendy, Park, Flappy, etc

So there will be a clearout.

its easier to clear them out than bring new ones in.

And we donot know beforehand who is coming. The club are not generous enough to let us know before they are signed, sealed and packed.

And regarding Jenks, give him time Sukky. He will be a future rock like TA06 was. So pls no nafnaffing around.

  10. Sukky says:

The only thing jenkinson is good at is RUNNING.He’s positioning is very poor,he can dribble, his crosses or cut back is not consistent.

  11. Gunnerdna says:

Good morning HH, I think its safer buying Coleman than Aurier, he is a huge gamble at just 21 to have as 1st choice for a big club like arsenal.

  12. potter says:

Jenkinson’s positioning will improve with experience . he is a big unit , tall, fast and strong. A few weeks tied with a piece of elastic to Mertesacker and you will have a future defender useful defending corners and set pieces . He will learn if he gets the playing time .Be patient.

  13. ArsenalDK says:

6 goals and 6 assists from a right back? Get Aurier in right now! Especially as he would only cost about 7 million. You can’t keep an unhappy player..

  14. frednerk says:

    Sukky,
Have a look at the last 5 England u/21 games,
a top right back yet no, did you ever see Pat rice when he was young, given a chance he may learn quick enough,
we have to walk before we run mate.

  15. Hell Raising Devil says:

The problem I see with right now is that people keep comparing Jenks to Sagna and other finished articles. Imo it should not be that way. Rather, we should focus on what is the good Jenks does and then comment. Sagna is gone now. So if Aurier comes then well and good. But AW should give Jenks more playing time. If for example Jenks gets a good run in the team then we might see a different player. As Potter said….he is big, tall, fast and strong.

  16. Hell Raising Devil says:

I heard on the grapevine that he was counsel when the world was created arong 4 billion years ago.

    hiya habib

  17. Scott From Oz says:

Nah Potter…I get there and stay there 🙂
    I’m off guys.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, and have a great day.

  18. Sukky says:

Jenkinson agaisnt napoli in the emirate cup,Jenkinson agaisnt chelsea in the league. He’s prone to mistake. He will kill the team in so many games.Jenkinson vs Hazard, just saying.

  19. potter says:

As previously stated Sukky , he is learning his trade , the yard stick is if he keeps making the same mistakes . Lee Dixon who was probably the best right back we have had since the second world war made mistakes too when he first came . Everybody does . It’s life. It’s what you do to rectify them that matters.

  20. bradster says:

    Afternoon all,

I think we need to choose the right CB. TV seems to not fit with either Kos or Merts and if he leaves we need a player that can complement both.
Jenks seems rusty and inexperience when I see the mistakes he makes which to me results from not having regular playing time and not being loaned out. I understand why he was kept when you see how injury prone Sagna was the beginning of this season and poorly he was playing.

  21. Wath says:

Makes me laugh that Citeh are paying all that dosh for Sagna when he ain’t gonna play much is he…. Zabaleta been one of their best players this season, I can’t see Sagna playing instead of him that often…!

  22. Sukky says:

You guys think JOEL CAMPELL have a future with us?The guy is a beast in international football.I guess costa rica is in World cup.

  23. potter says:

City have two tactics when buying players .
1 :- Get the best you can.
2 :- Weaken your immediate opposition.

Clichy – We are still waiting for Gibbs to mature.
    Adebayor – Never suitably replaced.
Nasri :- As above until Ozil
Toure – Left us short at the back , we still are.

Now Sagna , forced to buy to back up Jenks.

  24. rico says:

Agree Wath, I can’t see him playing that much and I suspect he knows it. But will he care if he gets the wage he wants…

Brad, personally, I’d rather we signed an older right back, one who won’t hinder Jenks career with us..

  25. bradster says:

what happened to all those other right sided defenders we were linked to last season? Like van der Weil, Janmaart, Lowton, Richards, Piszeck, Uchida and Chorcia.

  26. bradster says:

Haha Potter, only our manager has that mentality. If it wasn’t a world cup year Wenger will say they are all on holiday and unavailable.

  27. blonde Adonis says:

So bac is on his way to shitty…oh well. Nice knowing ya. Let’s sign aurier NOW. Maureen won’t faff about this summer. He ll want every available player. Get cracking arsene.

  28. blonde Adonis says:

Gee rico it’s blonde adonis…blonde adojis. Who is this goonster u keep referring to.

  29. blonde Adonis says:

Yep some mugs over at just arsenal.com ruined it for me. There’s only one goonster but since he wants to he be goonster I ll let him be. Am the blonde adonis now. 😀

  30. blonde Adonis says:

Anyway I have a post for you maam. My first ever. Gee I hope I don’t get mauled for it. I ll send it down soon.

  31. blonde Adonis says:

U better don’t devil…stick to raising hell. That’s what you are good that. Am a blonde Adonis.

  32. frednerk says:

Is it a good idea to sign players for huge transfer fees just before the world cup,our luck with injuries would scare the life out of wenger……would’nt it
Mind you……….I know he was free(kallstrom)
but..that never stopped him ..did it

  33. blonde Adonis says:

BA??? No way. I won’t be an acronym like DO AGAG. Nah am the blonde adonis and that’s it.

  34. Hell Raising Devil says:

Tell us beforehand of the post Rico. Will have to order fireworks, a band and cheerleaders.

    Cant wait for it Stan.

    No salad cream ok!!!!

  35. blonde Adonis says:

You know what fuck it….Am the goonster. Am not gonna let no prick steal my name. I coined it. I can’t just give up anytime b some bully shows up. By the stars and moon I am the GOONSTER.!

  36. Hell Raising Devil says:

no sauce either mate. I do not consume artificial things. No sauce, no cream, no mayonnaise etc.

Its a natural life for me…..with natural habits. Have to take care of my body mate.

Righto…….off for another 6 miles. That would make a total of 18 miles this week since Sunday.

will be back later on maybe.

  37. rico says:

Good point there fred, but do you really think we’ll sign players who are at the WC… 😉

    Afternoon Adam…

  38. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Before I go………

I think that the majority of the players will be retained. But I feel that we will sign only 1 maybe maybe 2 who are at the WC. Otherwise I see only young ones who are not chosen and maybe players who are at the WC but are not in the 1st team of their nation.

  39. Adam says:

Rico. Yes, unfortunately hours spent on the phone with one call after another. It’s like that sometimes. So Sagna’s gone then?

  40. rico says:

Oh to be so popular Adam… 😉

Had a hectic one too, been all over the place, well that’s how it seems. Still, Fido looks good after her haircut.. 🙂

  41. goonster says:

Hahahahahahahahahahahahah potter you re up to something there…Gee but that’s a mouthful. Lol

  42. goonster says:

There there WATH….Bloody arse? Really? ? That’s all you can come up with compadre? Men you slipping brother. Loosing it. Going soft. Tsk tsk tsk.

  43. Wath says:

I’m under orders Stan, I have to be polite mate 😀

How you doing fella, how’s Cassie..?

  44. goonster says:

She is coming through WATH thanks for your concern as always. The doctor said to keep her for further tests and observation. Don’t know what that means but if it makes her feel better then am all up for it

  45. Adam says:

If Kroos is available I would have thought we should be in there, especially at £20 million, unless Wenger sees Cesc coming back.

  46. goonster says:

Adam the sight of cesc santi ozster and n my man rambo lining up on the pitch will make the opposition shit themselves and me cream continuously till I run out of under pants 😀

  47. goonster says:

Is that confirmed yet rico?? I don’t think bayern ll sell him but hey I ve been wrong before.

  48. goonster says:

What??? Well I will…right now I can count how many under pants I have. They are like 1 2 3 4…There 4 under pants. One each for cesc santi ozster and rambo.

  49. Wath says:

Glad to hear thinks are looking up for Cassie Stan…! Good stuff.

I think Kroos and Cesc are both similar to Ozil and Santi…? do we need more of the same… for me i’d rather a big physical central midfielder…! Don’t need more of what we already have..!.

  50. goonster says:

WATH we were left hanging after ramsey ozil and Wilshire got injured. You can’t gave enough sweet things like my grand ma ll say. Bring him home arsene.

  51. rico says:

The paps are saying it’s done goonster. We’ll see…

I’m with Wath, good to hear things are a bit brighter for Cassie…

  52. Hell Raising Devil says:

Back. That was a bloody good run. But it was tough. The last half mile was painful.

  53. Wath says:

Stan, if we had a big strong midfielder Aaron and Ozil could of been rotated and rested and would maybe not of got injured…!?!?!

  54. Hell Raising Devil says:

You cream till you run out of underpants Stan???

More of till you run out of cream mate.

Is Cassie your little baby Stan?

  55. Wath says:

Stan, they do adult nappies for people like you 😀

Yep saw the letter Rico…. and comments from earlier from Lord Peckham…!

  56. allezkev says:

I don’t expect Wenger to do any business before the World Cup.
In fact, I don’t expect him to do much business at all, period…

Reading NewsNow for the next 8/10 weeks, is just gonna be major wind-up, and the back pages/Talk Rubbish/BBC Sport equally so, as our competitors will be doing their business, which will only go to make us feel more frustrated by the lack of action by Arsenal…

  57. allezkev says:

We have gone through this charade since Dein left, nothing is gonna change…

I simply refuse to get caught up in the Press/Media driven rumour (lie) factory again…

And anyway, Arsenal will not make any serious purchases until Champions Lge Group Stage qualification is assured, so it’s all bollocks until August in any case!!!

  58. allezkev says:

Wenger will bring in inly two players for certain, a goalkeeper (for Fabianski) and a right-back (for Sagna) and only because he has no choice…

All the other rumours are just fantasy…
    IMHO….

  59. Lee says:

Stag do in Amsterdam this arvo! 😆
Cesc coming back? Vela, Griezman and Schneiderlein…..plus a striker! I’d be happy with that!

  60. frednerk says:

Don’t get Griezmann and Vela link,
Are they better than Caz,Theo, oxo and Gnabry,
spanish 2nd tier football is only for the whipping boys..ain’t it
Man shi#y’s Nagrado and naves died half through the season..did’nt they
Fab is a different kettle of fish…ain’t he.
Schneiderlein looks the type..would be a punt,
we have aim higher than 4th.

  61. Kc says:

102 assists for cesc at AFC ..if he is realy on the move, will be mad if we don’t take a punt

  62. rico says:

Griezmann is a ‘proper’ winger isn’t he and I’d say we don’t have one of those at the club, well apart from Walcott..

  63. Kc says:

Agreed Rico..as much I like ball retention..I love it when pure wingers and not midfielders play at the wing..the game is more balanced and fast and direct

  64. Kc says:

And factoring that walcot may not come back until the end of the year and will also take him time to rediscover his form …saying that I would like to see more of Gnabry at the wing..look a proper winger tinke even though he Likes to drift inside a lot

  65. rico says:

Ditto – get some pace into our attack. My preference is two touch passing ending with a goal kind of play … lol

Or one touch of course…. 😉

  66. Kc says:

Pay me 200k every week and I will not give any damn whether you wish me happy birthday or not..Fuck off Taya

  67. Kc says:

    My preference is two
    touch passing ending with a
goal kind of play … lol …..that’s how football should be..not passing the ball within the midfiled for hundred times

  68. Kc says:

Rico..Yaya posted on twitter that it is true and he will talk about it after the world cup and Silva said he never look unhappy so he is surprised …there is certainly a fire behind that smoke..this is not AFC transfer rumuor that don’t have any fire behind the smoke …lol

  69. Kc says:

Please he should buy gervinho only for him to miss a sitter that could had qualified them for champions league …have a feeling Van Gaal will fail

  70. frednerk says:

Not seen Antoine Griezmann in the flesh,
but seen a lot of play backs, two footed, can head a ball, not seen him get away from anyone yet with speed,
    What ever happened..to sir steve.

  71. frednerk says:

Either we missed something with shining bonce or wenger got there to early,
Surely Hazard can’t be right(Gervino’s better than me)..

  72. rico says:

Can’t see what we missed tbh, if only he’d scored a few more goals from the many chances he fluffed….

  73. allezkev says:

    Morning Rico…

Morning Lee, my son has been to Amsterdam, he said it was a very interesting and historical City, full of blonde women with pouting lips… 😉
