If they had half the determination and commitment as one of my chickens!

Seriously, clipped wings and a six foot fence doesn’t stop her jumping out of their ‘space’! Most people I know who keep chickens manage to contain theirs without the need of such a high surround but just one of mine seems hell bent on getting out to reach the greener grass on the other side of the fence.

You may wonder why I am chirping on about keeping/containing chickens, well some of you out there might actually be interested, the others, well bare with me.

These days, Arsenal FC are so similar to that one chicken.

We oten seem to have players who think the grass is greener at another club and will do almost anything to get out out, but not too many go on and achieve big things do they, nor do they find true happiness. Well not if all the comments they make after they leave are to go by.

Cesc Fabregas is one exception to that rule, RvP will no doubt be another over the seasons to come but who else?

Some may say Clichy and Nasri but both have felt the need to talk about their old club on more than one occasion since leaving but why? Surely if a player is truly happy, they have no reason to look back, let alone have a moan. But hey, they left for trophies and they both now have one.

The best, or rather most annoying quality of my chicken it’s it determination, dedication and commitment to jump that fence no matter what or how high!

How much would we love to see our squad be full of players with that kind of inner determination, with that will to never give up regardless of what the challenge/obstacle in front of them is?

That kind of personality throughout an Arsenal team seems to be a distant memory.

Never will we have a better chance to beat a Manchester City side which boasts quality all over the pitch. They have a few out, their ‘engine’ is missing, as is their little maestro up front and we need to make that count.

Will we rise to the occasion?

Bacary Sagna, possibly one of the most guilty of under performing this season believes that the fans who criticise Arsene Wenger these days have it all wrong and the players are too blame for the shoddy performances, not the manager:

We see that Wenger is a very, very good coach. When you hear the criticism it’s a bit embarrassing, because we’re at fault a bit. In, fact we are totally at fault.

For Wenger’s sake, we had to react. For him and for the club.

We need that ‘reaction’ to start today from the first whistle to the last….

Man City haven’t beaten us at our home in the league for years, only a top performance will keep that great run going and I have a feeling we will see that…

Have a good day all…
