Remy deal agreed, Cesc on the verge of PL return & Sven Bender linked…

Morning all.

Highbury House is having a few problems so it’s a short gossip post today.

Loic Remy has reportedly agreed terms with Arsenal and will sign on the dotted line over the next few days. That’s according to Sky News Radio. The price is around £10 million and as much as some may not enjoy this news if true, I’ll be ok with it. He’s pacey, he’s used to the Premier League and he can score goals.

But, I see him as a replacement for Nik B, not a key striker signing and if we can sign another player who can score 20 goals or more a season, we’ll be good to go.

The other big story yesterday surrounded Cesc Fabregas. Apparently Barcelona don’t want him any more and he’s been told to pack his bags. He’s heavily tipped to make a return to the Premier League.

Of course we are favourites to sign him because Barca not only probably owe us money from the original sale of Fabregas, but no doubt they owe us for Alex Song too.

The Sunday People believe that Arsene Wenger is keen to bring the player back to The Emirates..

Borussia Dortmund Sven Bender is the midfield man on Wenger’s wishlist, reports the Mail on Sunday. He’s currently recovering from an injury sustained back in February.

Lastly and according to RMC Sport in France, Colombia international keeper David Ospina will be joining us this summer.

There you go, that’s the newspaper’s covered…

Have a good day all…

Update and a wrap on the knuckles for me.

Good luck to Arsenal Ladies today as they face Everton in the FA Cup Final.

Let’s hope they can emulate the men and bring the big trophy back to The Emirates……

    Morning all.
Rico, under tough circumstances, you always come up wth something….legend!!

  2. rogerbij says:

Cheers Rico, well thats not a bad roundup (as always if true). Ill take Remy gladly as a Nik replacement, and while Fab isnt exactly the position we need, I would take him with open arms – especially if we hardly have to stump up any cash because Barca still owe us. Happy Sundays

  3. dan says:

Morning all 🙂 Great story to wake up to! If this is true then Im a happy man. loic remy is a proven goal scorer and wants to play for arsenal so happy days… happy Sunday

  4. rico says:

Thanks Scott, the gossip is easy this time of the season. Most days it’s a saviour 😉

Thanks Roger, I’m hoping the Sven story is true….

  5. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good morning Chappies and Lasses.

Despite the difficulties, the Lady manages to satisfy the castle. 🙂

    Good for you.

I feel that if Cesc comes back, it will be Podolski who makes way. With Remy in, and having an advanced midfield of Cazorla, Ozil, Cesc and Ramsey, I doubt Podolski will be kept.

  6. tomstoned says:

totally agree if remy is a nik replacement..cesc..well i dont want him back..but i could be persuaded ; have a great Sundal Rico and all Gooners ..

  7. rico says:

    Morning Devil, thanks.

Podolski has said he’s staying I think. Not that that means anything.

Tom, I’m not keen on bring Cesc back either.

  8. Bobby says:

Can fabregas play as a Lw.if he cant i say we leave him and bring in greizmann..or fab/carzola will complain about playing time

  9. tomstoned says:

Rico a small question regarding the fantasy premier league next season if there is any interest in continuing im willing to put up some prizes…since i work in Svalbard i was thinking that maybe an ice bear skin or something like that..if that doesnt offend people that is ? what do You think Rico…think about it and let me know ..

  10. Hell Raising Devil says:

I would like Cesc back. No, not because I do not want him anywhere else. but because I feel that with Cazorla and Ozil he would provide Theo, Giroud and Remy with all the assists needed to set them up.
Take into consideration Ramsey and Jack and we would have a midfield to die for.

With Sven in the mix and Flamini as backup we will murder some of the opposition.

  11. Scott From Oz says:

    I want Podolski to stay.
His last 5-6 games were his best for us.
Yes, it was probably be to show the German coach he is up for it, but he showed what he can do.

  12. rico says:

Tom, no thanks re any bear skins. I am absolutely against any such thing.

Bizarre thing to ask a vegetarian.

  13. rico says:

I read Liverpool are interested too Scott..

I’d worry about Cesc’s attitude, he’s always been a bit ‘me me me’ imo…

  14. Scott From Oz says:

If Cesc doesn’t come to us, it will because we don’t want him, or so it goes.
Still, I’d rather him playing in another league.
    Sean would be devastated massively!

  15. Scott From Oz says:

I try to weigh up the quality Cesc would bring against the potential unrest in the squad.
One thing even a dumb Aussie can tell is we have the tightest, happiest squad we’ve had for a long time.
One other little point…..and I’ve asked this plenty of times.
Back when we weren’t winning trophies 🙂 , we were guilty of letting up best players go, but I always asked what did we win with these players at the club?
    RVP.
    Song.
    Clichy.
    Nasri.
    Etc etc etc……

  16. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Imagine this……

    Bender, Ramsey,
    Ozil, Cesc, Cazorla
    Theo

    Phew.

    Or Giroud up front.

    Or Remy

    Or Podolski

Wilshere and Flamini to rotate that midfield.

    Awesome I would say.

  17. rico says:

    Exactly Scott. Couldn’t agree more…

    The short answer is, nothing…

I’d much rather we signed an out and out left winger Devil. A player like Bender, Remy and another striker and of course a right back and keeper…

  18. rogerbij says:

…Remembering of course that one of our creative midfield will be out injured all next season (taking bets now), so Fab will add depth and quality like we always bang on about. Second, Rosicky will not be playing with us forever so bringing back Fab now wouldnt be a bad idea. I totally agree this is not a priority position we need, but when good things come around big clubs take advantage. Im not against it at least – so long as the real gaps are still plugged.

  19. tomstoned says:

food for thought if Diaby stays on his feet dont forget him he is a world class midfielder..maybe the best we have..all this talk about buying a midfielder..well me i would rather see Diaby fit for a whole season..than buy anyone out there..

  20. shitu sys says:

Of course they are good but we need big striker example Benzema not only him to sign Morata and Di maria is ok and we can beat any club in Europe because we have Ozil, cazorla,Ramsey, wilshere and more so that we can do better

  21. allezkev says:

If Wenger goes into next season, and gives any thought to Diaby being anything other than someone he can use in the odd cup tie, then he really has learnt nothing from the last 9 years…

  22. allezkev says:

If, by some miracle, Diaby can remain fit for half-a-season, then take that as a huge bonus…
But Wenger really needs to make his recruitment plans without giving any realistic thought to a fit Abou Diaby…

  23. Hell Raising Devil says:

Diaby is a liability. its his last year on contract. So even if he does manage to stay on his feet he will skeedaddle the moment he sniffs money.

Tr07 will help with the rotation. He cannot play a lot but the matches he plays he always helps a lot. Yes I would keep him but to freshen up the others as well.

  24. allezkev says:

Sven Bender (not sure where that story originated from) is an interesting one…
Borussia Dortmund may need to sell in order to strengthen, especially as they lost Lewandowski for a freeski….

€20m might just be enough to persuade them to sell…

  25. emeka ike says:

i did like us to bring cesc back cos he can provide plenty of assist and he can also score goals on the other hand remy will be a good option upfront and he can provide a strong treath in our attack and he has an eye on goal, pls wenger should get it done.

  26. ktr7 says:

Make no mistake, Cesc was immense for us.for such a young man he had so much bottle it was scary.the milan away performance, Villa cameo when he came on and completely destroyed villa, several games vs spurs…

However we have moved on.I’m excited to see how Ozil plays next season.also Ozil’s tendency to work the flanks is what allows Ramsey to push forward.for example look at Ramsey’s goal vs pool.Ozil drifts wide right taking Gerrard and lucas (i think) with him.he then clipped a pass back to the middle where ramsey was charging forward and ramsey smashed it in.I want this combo to become even better.

Cesc mainly stays central unlike mesut.this is would hinder ramsey’s charges forward.also this made it easy to mark cesc out of the game which completely disoriented us.think of anderson fletcher essien mikel…over the years.Mesut’s mobility makes him more elusive and difficult to mark.

Lets address our weaknesses 1st and if we have spare change who knows?…

  27. Hell Raising Devil says:

Cesc can play the Arteta role from the deep KTr7. So that would allow Ozil=Ramsey combo to flourish.

  28. goonster says:

Morning guys….fabregas??? Yes please. He is exactly what we need right now. A player of his caliber will boost the reams morale. Plus why question his imminent acquisition? Rico when a world class player becomes available you move mars and Jupiter to get him. Where will he play they kept asking? Well last time I remember he plays in the midfield. Bring back cesc please and while you re at it bring sanchez with him. COYGS.

  29. Scott From Oz says:

KT, don’t underestimate the effect Ramsey has on Ozil, either though.
Plenty were taking shits at Ozil with his form dip, but passed over the fact it coincided with Aaron’s injury.
Oh come on, you all knew that was coming from me 🙂

  30. goonster says:

You all sound like we always have all our players fit all the time. Last season we lost jack rambo ozster and Aoc for huge chunks of the season. Hence our title aspiration went up in flames. Plus with fabregas ozil and santi ll raise their games to another level. World class brings out the world class in world class players 😀

  31. rico says:

Kt, if AW doesn’t sign a striker with pace and a winger with pace, no doubt Mesut’s game will be similar to it has been. He needs the speed and intelligent players ahead of him if we are to see him at his best.

He needs a couple of players who can think like him, Dennis had those, now Ozil needs them…. imo…

I don’t know much about Di Maria, but I bet Ozil does….

  32. goonster says:

Question Kt have you watched cesc lately. He drifts all over the pitch. He played like that with us cause arsene built the team around him. We shouldn’t be looking at individual players right now. The question is will cesc strengthen or weaken Us….your guess is as good as mine.

  33. Hell Raising Devil says:

Ha Goonie. so we have to move heaven and earth for world class people.

what did you move in order to get Cassie?? 😛

Rico…..you are right about speed. But its not only Ozil who needs speed. Its every intelligent player pre requisite. They need speed around them,

  34. Scott From Oz says:

Look, Cesc is absolute quality, so he’d be great on the pitch for us.
The effect off it is what I am not sure of….

  35. goonster says:

Morning scotty oz….how are you fella? Vacation in Australia is looking tantalizing to me right now. Any good spots you can recommend and please don’t say the outback! That place gives me the creeps.

  36. rico says:

David Villa and Frank Lampard are both off to the MLS with New York City…

Bet those moves are nothing to do with money… 😉

  37. goonster says:

DG cassie is home now….she’s been home for a week now. Looking frail but sitting up in bed and smiling. That’s all am asking for.

  38. Scott From Oz says:

Stan the man, any part of Oz is brilliant.
I will show you around mate!
Stick to the Coast….just avoid the sharks 🙂

  39. rico says:

For sure Devil, we have all been saying we need more speed in the side for a long time, but as Kt said, he’s looking forward to seeing Ozil this next season, so am I if we sign the right players to bring the best out of him.

I also believe it’s time to ditch 433….

  40. goonster says:

Gee Scott am a Dutch man. We were birthed in the seas as the legend says. Am not worried about no sharks. But thanks for the rip though.

  41. ktr7 says:

Devil i highly doubt cesc can play the arteta role.Cesc has not played as a CM since his young Arsenal days.and in all our big losses away from home Arteta’s mobiliy and lack of athleticism has been a major factor why teams blew past us.The likes of Barkley simply waltzed past him.Cesc will not change that if we put him there.he may have more quality on the ball but the same problems will persist. We need a Fernandinho type of player in there not cesc.

  42. Scott From Oz says:

I should add the sharks are pretty quiet here now, Stan.
The crocs put them in their place 🙂

  43. Scott From Oz says:

Rico, there is the problem…bringing in players who offer balance on and off the pitch.
    It’s not easy.

  44. goonster says:

Rico there was a video making the rounds after van herpes left. Where gibbo jack and rambo said the most missed player in the dressing room is cesc. Not van herpes eboue or even nashit. Fabregas ll be a huge lift both on and off the pitch. Alright picture this rambo pulls a hamstring and is our for 3 months whom ll u rather fill his shoes? Fabregas or………! Exactly cause none I mean none of our current midfielders comes even close to him. I mean this guy is absolutely class. It ll be ludicrous if we let him sign for a rival. I ll rather have him sitting on our bench than face him on the pitch. End of.

  45. snaparse says:

morning to you all……nice post rico…….I can really say re Remy but I think he is a decent player and he can give us that bit extra…re cesc I don’t think he will be a bad signing just think its unnecessary to sign him when we have other pressing issue….just heard aurier will be a gunner soon how true that is I don’t know

  46. goonster says:

Yikes how come Scott? Since when do crocs swim in salt water? Ok this is getting really weird really fast.

  47. ktr7 says:

Goonster id say cesc’s mobility has improved barca but Ozil is no doubt better at it than him.bringing him will force us to push mesut wide and this will not solve any of our problems.Cesc can’t play wide. You have mentioned squad depth but Cesc is no squad player.if he comes he starts and mesut will not be dropped.this will not address any of our issues.

What we need is more pace up front 1st.I cannot count the number of times Ozil broke forward on the counter with only Giroud in front of him.it was heartbreaking to watch.20 minutes on Ozil’s debut at Sunderland is all you need to see how good he is when there is movement ahead of him.Walcott should’ve scored a hattrick that day.

  48. Scott From Oz says:

H haha Stan, there are two types of crocs…saltwater and freshwater.
Saltwater are the nasty ones /)

  49. potter says:

It seems that Pat Vieira and Txiki Begiristain are working on Cesc to go to City. They will make an offer that our board will refuse to match. It will come down to money versus any desire Cesc has to play for us again. I reckon the money will win.

  50. goonster says:

That’s why we are after remy vela and sanchez. Dude its a no brainer. If fabregas is available we must and I insist we must get him. Rotation is the key to a successful season. Gee Kt we are talking about fabregas here not some Sunday league player.

  51. rico says:

I know Scott, I guess if AW believes Fabregas will be a team player and person, then maybe he’ll be tempted to get him back…

  52. goonster says:

Potter we have first refusal on him. Shitty can stump all the cash they want. All we gotta do is trigger the buy back clause which is 25 million pounds and we are good.

  53. ktr7 says:

I know goonster its Cesc but he isn’t going to solve any of our problems and thats my point.we have more pressing issues than spunking £30 mil on another AM.If we have spare change after addressing more pressing needs then fine but as of now i don’t see the point.

  54. Hell Raising Devil says:

Goonie is right. Whichever way it goes we will be winners.

If we want him we get him for 25mill.

If others buy him……..say shitty pay 40mill for him…….we get 20mill.

  55. rico says:

potter, do you know if there is actually a clause in his contract, I don’t. But if there is and AW wants Cesc back, I guess City will have no chance….

But then again, surely the player can still refuse to sign for us….

  56. goonster says:

I see no division anywhere maam. Just a bunch of frightened brits who don’t want fabregas to “stunt” the growth of English and welsh players. Well all this is just blustery. If arsene wants him….He ll get him. We can all shit bricks but he has the final say and in this case. He had my vote 😀

  57. Hell Raising Devil says:

KT…..Cesc in not an AM. He is a mobile midfield/forward player. He can play any position in midfield and attack. And yes Rico he can play DM in the Xavi/Guardiola style. That has always been his desire. He accepts to play forward but his main favourite role is sitting in front of the defence.

  58. Scott From Oz says:

Devil, is that the case, or do we get 50% of no my profit Barca make from an ensuing sale?
I ask because a guy I spoke to recently said this was the case.

  59. goonster says:

Kt according to reports we have just signed remy and aurier for less than 20 million pounds. Cesc for 30 million that’s 50 million left to buy a beastly dm ( which to me is outdated and irrelevant to the modern game) and a winger cum striker. Bam that’s your summer done and dusted.

  60. Hell Raising Devil says:

because we are entitled to 50% of any fee Barca get if they sell him. That is one of the clauses inserted in his contract.

  61. rico says:

I didn’t mean it in a ‘nasty’ way goonster, just some want him back, others don’t… Simples 😉

  62. ktr7 says:

I think gooners are more afraid of seeing Cesc at another PL club which I understand.he was also adored by the fans here and therefore sentiment is playing a part in this too.I understand all these factors but until we can sort out other issues 1st there is no point imo to spunk a huge chunk of our budget in a position we have the most depth in the league.

  63. rico says:

Is that definite Devil, or just rumour?

I just can’t see Barca agreeing on that when we sold him…

  64. Hell Raising Devil says:

I have known about it since we sold him. It was made public Rico. Remember he had 4 years left on his contract.

  65. ktr7 says:

“According to reports…” until i see it on arse.com i don’t pay too much attention to them goonster.

  66. goonster says:

Kt how old is rosciky again? What about artekkers and santi. And oh tell me a time jack rambo and Aoc has been fit all season long?? Thought so.

  67. goonster says:

Remy was spotted at the emirates. A month later sky sports radio carries the news that we ve signed him. Coincidence??? I don’t think so. Aurier and remy are in the bag. Fabregas and another striker cum winger and we are done. Community shield here we come.

  68. Scott From Oz says:

So it is ANY fee Barca get, Devil?
    Ok.
That’s what I thought but this guy was adamant….just thought I’d ask.

  69. rico says:

I’m always a bit sceptical when it comes to what is written about contracts and clauses by journalists Devil.

    Can’t think why.. 😉

  70. goonster says:

Lol rico that’s why I volunteered to take dem chickens off your little paw. And maybe woffie too 😀

  71. rico says:

    Telegraph:

‘Although Barcelona have placed a huge buy-out clause of €200 million (£176 million) in Fabregas’s contract, they have agreed to give Arsenal first refusal should they eventually decide to sell.
If Arsenal were to refuse that option, they would still be entitled to half of Fabregas’s next transfer fee’.

So, if City want to sign him, they will have to pay £176 million and we get half of that, £88 million.

I think AW would rather City signed him… 😉

  72. Hell Raising Devil says:

Remy and Aurier are both signed I think. Same as Goonie. I think we get them for a combined 17 mill.

  73. Hell Raising Devil says:

once he said that he will give the 100mill back if he was offered that money by the board to buy.

He would shit in his pants if Shitty paid all that money and we got 88mill. And I can assure you AW would not hand that back to shitty.

  74. ktr7 says:

Devil ever since Wenger put cesc in the AM role in the 2008/2009 season he hasn’t been played anywhere else.heck even Del Bosque would rather play him as a false 9 than in midfield CM.in fact Cazorla is often preffered as the alternative to xavi in the spanish NT.at Barca when they have tried him at CM he has been underwhelming and has often been subbed around the 60 minute mark to a chorus of boos.Flamini even says he forgets to defend.Cesc at his best requires a free role.

To play him as a Busquets would be a disaster imo.he is not a defensive player.he is more valuable in an attacking role.if we were to set up that way we would have to completely restructure our midfield to accomodate him there.Pirlo for example has workhorses in pogba and vidal next to him but juve have still found it difficult in Europe with that setup and as a result from next season will scrap that setup for a 4-3-3.

  75. goonster says:

DG it’s a foregone conclusion. Fabregas is coming home. I have already ordered a new arsenal shirt for brianna. Guess the name and number….yep you got it. It’s FAB 4 alright. 😀

  76. goonster says:

Kt Kt Kt… Tsk tsk tsk. Let it go brother. Fabregas is coming home. Remember what arsene said last year. That fabregas has decided to stay one more year at barfa. That was when it was reported that manure want him. Wenger is in constantly in contact with cesc. There’s no way in hell arsene ll spurn the opportunity to manage his love child again. He is coming y’all. Yeeeeehaaaaaaw

  77. Joaquim Moreira says:

    And about the right back?
Fabregas was a leader but next season I don’t believe in that and can cause internal problems in the team.
However, he not give us “muscle” in the middle. That it’s the most important for balance the games bettween the important teams and win advantage against the other ones.

  78. rico says:

    Pleasure Scott 🙂

Someone on Twitter is claiming that Aurier has told him he has signed for us Jm..

Agree re the ‘muscle’ in midfield, desperately needed…

  79. goonster says:

Aurier is in the bag maam….no faffing about on that one. Bac sagna is gone so we gotta move and move fast. I believe we ll be done with our shopping before the world cup.

  80. ktr7 says:

Goonster Wenger said that before we signed Ozil…however there is no doubt wenger loves cesc.however id rather place that £30 mil bid on Alexis.

  81. goonster says:

It’s time for another one guys. Wait for it. Arsene is building his third and final great arsenal team. This time we ll be devastating. We have money to spend players wanna join us. Sponsors are tripping over themselves to brand us. Gee It’s a good time to be a gooner.

  82. Hell Raising Devil says:

in the modern game the need for a destroyer with muscle in midfield is a tad going backward.

I agree with you though. We do need a PV type of midfielder who can pass, is intelligent, and can destroy teams. But the present mould is more of the Xavi type player. A creator rather than a destroyer.

Once if you remember I said that AW would, in the ideal world, like to have 5 defensive minded players and 5 advanced/forward minded players. That is the reason why he buys Advanced Midfielders instead of wingers and proper strikers.

Movement and intelligence is the key here.

As a coach though, I still think that CB, CDM and CF should always be specialised positions.

  83. goonster says:

Kt Alexis won’t cost 30 million. You know that I know that everyone knows that. We ve just signed remy we have OG plus sanogo I think that’s the striking department done. We will get fabregas. You just watch. It might go done to the wire but we ll get him. I for one can’t wait. COYFGS.

  84. Hell Raising Devil says:

oh yes they will brand you Goonie…..with a hot iron up your arse.

imagine the word PUMA branded on your arse with a hot iron.

    😆

Scott would have to cover his ears not to hear you scream. And even that would be insufficient. 😛

  85. Bt62 Gooner says:

Afternoon all, pace and power, early signings and some tatics please. Cesc a luxury, sort out the major positions of concern and then and only then look at other signings. Rico a veggie really? don’t know how you get the strength to do post everyday. As for papers full of bs most of the time.

  86. potter says:

I thought it was 50% of the profit but different sites are saying different things . I looked at the club accounts on player sales but they lump them all together .

  87. rico says:

    Pescatarian really Bt….

‘Most of the time’ – I’d say all of the time re the papers…. 😉

  88. rico says:

That’s the thing potter, I’m not sure anyone knows the true conditions of his buy out clause.. Too many mixed reports…

  89. ktr7 says:

Reports have shone a light on Mohammed bin
Hammam, who is believed to have bribed officials
to vote in favour of Qatar’s bid and Fifa are open
    to changing the decision
Fifa vice-president Jim Boyce has left the door
open for the 2022 World Cup host to be switched
if corruption by Qatar can be proven.
Reports in the British media on Sunday claimed
that former Asian Football Confederation (AFC)
chief Mohammed bin Hammam paid up to €3.7
million to football officials in order to gain support
    for Qatar’s bid.
Bin Hammam was formerly a member of Fifa’s
Executive Committee until being banned from all
football activity for life in July 2013 amid
    allegations of bribery.
Qatar were awarded the tournament in December
2010, beating off competition from the United
States, South Korea, Japan and Australia.
However, the bid has since been shrouded in
controversy with doubts over players’ ability to
play in the Qatari summer heat expected to see
the event moved to the winter months between
November and January, while the human rights
record has come under immense scrutiny too.
Several figures in world football’s governing body,
including president Sepp Blatter, have admitted
fault in overlooking the climate in Qatar as a
    potential problem.
And Boyce has welcomed an investigation into
the latest claims, putting faith in Fifa’s chairman
of the investigatory chamber of the Ethics
    Committee, former United States Attorney,
    Michael Garcia.
Boyce told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Sportsweek : “As a
member currently of the Fifa executive committee,
we feel that any evidence whatsoever that people
involved were bribed to do a certain vote, all that
evidence should go to Michael Garcia, whom Fifa
have given full authority to, and let’s await the
report that comes back from Garcia.
“If Garcia’s report comes up and his
    recommendations are that wrongdoing happened
for that vote for the 2022 World Cup, I certainly
as a member of the executive co would have
absolutely no problem whatsoever if the
    recommendation was for a re-vote.
“If Garcia comes up with concrete evidence and
concrete evidence is given to the executive
committee and to Fifa then it has to be looked at
very seriously at that time, there’s no doubt
    about that.”

Good to see we agree on that devil.I haven’t seen cesc play that Busquets role ever and it would be too risky imo to shoehorn him in there.teams with the likes of yaya and barkley would simply blow past him.i also don’t think he has the positioning of say arteta to play there.Id prefer a more physical Arteta like Morgan S of Southampton since playere like martinez are unavailable.

  91. ktr7 says:

I’d pay over the odds to get Alexis.we are in dire need of such a player.Im envious of teams that have hazard reus neymar…types of players.i believe alexis would be excellent for such a role.

  92. goonster says:

Who else thinks shitty will come apart next season if yaya leaves. He’s been their best player for 3 seasons now. I pray he does. We ll have one hand on the community shield then.

  93. Gunnerdna says:

GM HH, good post rico. I can’t believe people debating if AW should bring Cesc back. Cesc>>>>>>SC19, JW, Rosicky, Flam, MA08 & Diaby, this is the main reason Cesc is needed.

  94. ktr7 says:

Goonster if city were to lose yaya it would be devastating for them.no player in the world can do what he does for them at the moment.a monster of a player.

  95. goonster says:

Kt they ll be in the sewer up to their chin. Hey nickie fab ain’t going to no rival. He is not van herpes.

  96. ktr7 says:

GDNA the debate is mainly about priorities.Until we resolve our glaring back up GK, DM, ST, WF and RB issues there is no way would i consider spending such a huge chunk of cash for a position we already have enough players for albeit not all are cesc’s quality.if we have cash left after addressing those issues fine.otherwise our squad will end up being even more unbalanced than before.Frankly i hope he stays at barca or goes to another league.

  97. goonster says:

Dna you and me both brother. Cesc is class and he bleeds AC plus zelalem Crowley and other youngsters will learn a thing or two from him. Remember HOW Jack Flourished Under Cesc Tutelage. Little wonder he seems to have stagnated since secs departure. # bringbackcesc

  98. Gunnerdna says:

@Goon, Yeah bro still in the 757. lol. I’m doing my own player assessment by re-watching all the games on the player, and trust me some of these player at arsenal don’t make the grade, so i would take Cesc alone than Remy and Eto. We have a bunch of average players we need to get rid of before lifting that PL and CL trophy.

  99. rico says:

    Hi Nickie/Gdna..

Talking about Cesc? It’s called debating and having the right to express an opinion…

  100. ktr7 says:

Goonster i have always held out hope that diaby could play that yaya role for us even if not to yaya’s standards…but i must admit am running out of patience and hope…

  101. goonster says:

Kt if a player of cesc ability is available you don’t question if he is needed or not….you sign him. Cesc has more talent on his pinky than santi ozster rambo and Wilshire combined. People tend to forget how he singlehandedly almost took us to the title in 2008.

  102. goonster says:

Dna am sick of folks who keeps banging about us bringing in world class yet one is available at a price which we Can afford and all of a sudden we have too much players. Look guys it all comes down to arsene. Knowing him he ll rather cesc than another striker and I for one won’t begrudge him.

  103. Gunnerdna says:

ktr7, 30 mil for cesc fabregas is a steal when you have a team with so much mediocre midfielders, what about the club overspending for once. I call to buy 6 tickets for the game against NY Red Bull and where we want to sit it 599 us a piece, do u honestly think i’m gonna pay to see that money to see the postman and friends, hell no. If Cesc join another PL club i don’t know if i would be able to watch him play against us.

  104. ktr7 says:

Stan Collymore reckons we are 3 years away from a serious title challenge…ok…despite finishing 7 points off the winners and leading the league for 128 days this past season…ok…

  105. goonster says:

Kt diaby is twice the player yaya is. It’s so unfortunate that injury robbed him of his best years. Am sorry Kt but it’s down hill from here for him. He should have peeked now but injuries has always been his bane. It ll take him 2 years to regain his composure and form by then he ll be in his late 20s. It’s too late for him I think. Bummer.

  106. Gunnerdna says:

When Ozil got injured we struggle to create chances, watching the games over in a more relax mind frame will show our MF is not as good as it seems to b.

  107. ktr7 says:

Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree GDNA/Goonster.my view is different from yours and thats fine.Wenger is paid top dollar to make the decisions and i trust he’ll make the right one.

  108. goonster says:

Stan who?? Oh please not another drunk scouser. Listen to him often and you end up a wife beater too. 😀

  109. goonster says:

Gee is it me or is everyone named stan an arse. Sheesh. Guess I have to change my name to Clint or Roger.

  110. goonster says:

Hahahahahahhaha DNA you don’t wanna watch the post man? He’s not actually a bad player. Just raw. But trust me in 2 years time he ll be a beast. Loan hin out arsene.

  111. goonster says:

Dna am not a big fan of sven bender. His twin brother I ll take but not him. He seems to go missing in big games. I ll keep artekkers though. Bring him in towards the end of games. To pass the opposition to death. Flam I ll release.

  112. ktr7 says:

Goonster I would never sacrifice a ST for cesc…no way.am sick and tired of seeing Giroud as our main ST.its been painful to watch.no way…

  113. Gunnerdna says:

Goon 199 US for the cheapest ticket, but who want to drive to Jersey and watching Arsenal from a birds eye view. I have some friends who are desperate to see this Arsenal i’m always talking up. Did u see the postman miss against stoke. lol. My basketball team got eliminated last night by the Spurs.

  114. ktr7 says:

Sven isn’t as good as Lars Goonie…that i agree.Lars is not leaving though and he plays a similar role to ramsey for leverkusen.we need a DM more.

  115. goonster says:

Are you really going to new york to see us take on the red bulls? Damn what I ll give to see dem players live. Lucky you bro. Lucky you. Wish I could but I can’t. My wife and daughter needs me.

  116. goonster says:

Well Kt that’s why we have 50 mill to dangle in front of any striker we fancy. Aurier plus remy cost us less than 20 million then cesc for another 30 mill and we still have another 50 million to play with. Come on Kt. I need you on my side for this one. Stick me brother. Have I ever steered you wrong?

  117. goonster says:

Kt dms are overated and archaic. How many dms did Madrid deploy to win la decimal. Come on now. Dms are a thing of the past. We just need to defend as a unit. Barfa did it during their all conquering era. We just need the players to keep their shape.l

  118. Gunnerdna says:

Goon, the last PL teams i watched was Loserfool vs Totts in Baltimore. My brother in law is a United fan he already got ticket for the Champions Cup, the final will be play in Miami

  119. goonster says:

Lol rico you are all for signing any player that won’t be a threat to your darling brit players. I got you.

  120. goonster says:

Gee why ll I wanna watch that shower of shit DNA when I can just play with brianna’s poopy diaper 😀

  121. ktr7 says:

Also don’t forget Goonie sagna was our 4th choice CB.Since he has left and Vermy is likely to follow suit we may need 2 CBs.I’ve heard Aurier can play there (if he comes) but its too risky to my liking for a 21 yr old in his 1st season to be expected to play there.that makes it about 7 players we may need even before considering cesc.

  122. goonster says:

Verm is not leaving. Arsene won’t loose three players in one season. Maybe 2 but 3 is really pushing it. Verminator is staying. End of.

  123. Gunnerdna says:

Goon i went because of a new wag met at a Wizzard game in DC. The sun was so hot both teams was struggling, Kenny Doglish was the coach. The wag told me the dude Liverpool sold to Swansee looks scary, forget his name. lol

  124. Gunnerdna says:

Ktr7, what about keeping TV and pairing him with either Lescott or Ashley Williams, still got money for Lord Fabregas. lol

  125. goonster says:

Hahahahah lord fabregas I like that dna. Come on arsene do this and I ll forget all your past transgressions. I might even name my son after u. Please # bringbackcesc

  126. ktr7 says:

Goonster we need one.In the PL especially.I would personally like a more physical Arteta imo would be ideal.in the big games away from home teams blew past us due to lack of physicality in the middle. The likes of Barkley yaya had a field day against us for this reason.we need that option.Mourinho beat city by fielding matic and luiz to combat yaya and it worked.we need that option too.Last summer i thought the same as you do but now i see you need that option.

Madrid could play that way since the CL/La liga are not physical contests like the PL.

  127. goonster says:

Kt the question is how many dms did Ferguscoont deploy during his tenure? Is Carrick a dm? What about Anderson or oshea? Come on bro. Dms are outdated nobody plays with dms anymore. Loserpoop don’t have one so does barfa Madrid and co.

  128. tsgh-The Hidden Hand says:

AW won’t sign Cesc because CF doesn’t want to; I said the same before Yanited attempted their poor bid… Goonie stop romanticising football… lol

I will rather get Gundagon, Gabi or Koke…

    Afternoon all. Good read Rico

  129. Gunnerdna says:

Rico, i know u don’t rico, u never gave me the impression that u care where the players are from, u r more about the team doing well although, you fail to give the thumbs up on El Capo Lord Fabregas. lol

  130. tsgh says:

Kt you have a point about how Jose beat Shitty.. but the difference is that chelsea have no luxury players…

We can Gattuso and Rijkarrd as your double pivot however if you have 3 or 4 other players who are tactical inept at the top then…

  131. Gunnerdna says:

Rico, what about McCarty from Everton, him and Ramsey will run for 4 days straight allowing Ozil and Cesc to murder people.

  132. tsgh says:

Khedira as a DM? not at all..

How was he in the role in the CL…

I know a few h disagree with him when I have said Khedira is not a DM but even Alonso said Khedira was not a DM when Graeme Souness said he was… before the CL final…

  133. ktr7 says:

Goonie i have said a more physical Arteta would be my preference hence why i mentioned morgan schneirderlin of southampton.if we can’t get such a player then buy a DM for some matches.fletcher carrick and anderson are not classic dms but they would never be bullied in a game.we need that physicality in the middle especially in the PL No 2 ways about it.In the CL not so much but in the PL we must have enough physicality in there to compete.just rewatch the thrashings at chelsea pool everton and city to see what i mean.

  134. tsgh says:

    Dna, no I wish I could though…
    Are you?

Interesting development re. Qatar and WC… I said over a year ago that some serious news will start coming out …

I like McCarty but in my view, he lays better when he is told to mark someone out of a game… AW will never do that so…

  135. ktr7 says:

I hope vermy stays as he is as good a 3rd choice CB as you can get but i don’t see him staying.

hi ts.Khedira is not a dm.he is a box to box midfielder.

  136. tsgh says:

My fave midfielders apart from the boy wonder are Koke, Gabi, Gundagun, Vidal and Schnerderlein…

AW has to get one at least Barkley because to me he is exactly what I like in a midfielder…

A cheap one will be Afriyie… but he opted for Ghana so I guess Aw won’t go there…

  137. rico says:

Gdna, I’m honestly not fussed who the players we sign are or where they are from, as long as they can do what they are supposed to well and are grafters.

Of course I’d love us to sign Suarez, both Benders, Juanfran, Di Maria and a Gk..

But the likelihood of that happening is nil… 😉

  138. Gunnerdna says:

Ts, no bro, i wish. although I would never go for the games, me and OG12 would be swinging. lol

  139. ktr7 says:

I know LB is not a priority but Luke Shaw looks so good.when we went to southampton he absolutely dominated that flank giving Sagna a torrid time.id love him here.

Schneirderlin was also excellent that day.we couldn’t get past him.i hope we buy him.

  140. tsgh says:

    True Rico…

where will Ramsey and JW play though? I think Ox needs games this year or he may want to go imho…

  141. rico says:

    Ox/TW/Gnabry on the right Ts.

Depth – we need depth to ensure both JW and AR don’t end up being injured through overplaying….

I’m not daft enough to think AW is going to sign both Benders and Khedira.

I just hope he signs one midfield player who will plug the gap that’s been so exposed this last season. Arteta/Flamini are not the answer, certainly not when we play against the likes of Chelsea, City and Liverpool etc…

I personally think that Morgan is the most likely.

  142. ktr7 says:

Remy is fine ts but as a back up only.most teams we face like to sit deep against us abd this would require having a technical CF who has the ability to link up play in tight areas and the ability to dribble.remy is average at those 2 aspects.his strengths are pace and finishing much like walcott.he would be a better WF than ST imo.

What we need is a pacy and lethal forward who can both dribble and link up play as our 1st choice ST.who can we get?…thats for the scouts and wenger to decide.

  143. tsgh says:

    lol… Rico. I agree

In my view we have the best tackler in the EPL in our team and one of the top 5 in the whole Europe..

The issue is that AW needs to grow a pair and tell players where to play not where they think they want to play…

Before Aw buys another CM or box to box player… he needs to decide where Ramsey and JW’s future lay…

I would love Khedira if Ramsey will play the holding role..

But as in the FA cup when Ramsey was made to play deeper; no other player was tactical fluid enough to push the game until we had our 3 most intelligent players on the pitch with TR07 and MA08 holding allowing Ramsey to push forward…

Until sections of EPL fans start to value midfield players who do not score often; young players like JW, Ox and Ramsey will always think they have to play for themselves to get appreciated…

  144. ktr7 says:

Rico am with you on the need for a box to box CM alternative to Ramsey but knowing Wenger he will insist Ox/Jack can fill in when required.Last season they were horribly exposed especially chelsea/pool away but wenger will counter that by saying how good the Ox was against Bayern.his activities in the market will give us a better indication.

  145. ktr7 says:

Muriel looked so promising earlier on but he faded for some reason.Cuardado is more of an old school winger who hugs the touchline and beating his FB.we don’t play with those so that rules him out.Cabella was very good against us in the CL away…worth a punt because he has the right attributes.

  146. rico says:

Ts, imo, Ramsey shouldn’t be held back, if there’s one player who deserves a free role, it’s him.

I didn’t see Tomas ‘holding’ in the FA Cup, he was bombing forward trying to win the game. lol

Arteta is going to have to accept a bit part this coming season imo, another year older and he’s already not the quickest.

I know you rate him highly but for me, he’s got to be a squad player only.

Same with Tomas, AW has to use them wisely if both stay…

  147. rico says:

Kt, after signing a new 3 year deal, I don’t think AW can afford to ‘fill in’ as if the wheels come off, so will his managerial career at Arsenal….

  148. ktr7 says:

Of all our young brits i find Ox the most intriguing.i have no clear idea on how he’ll end up but i think he has the highest ceiling. He was so good at the Allianz Arena especially in terms of directness.he completed 10!!!take ons that night more than the entire Bayern team combined…if he stays fit next season…

  149. rico says:

Swansea have agreed a deal for a new striker, must mean Bony or Michu are on their way out….

  150. snaparse says:

agree with Rico we need a hm midfielder…… my preferred choice would be Fernando but I think he is going to city so…..goonie barca had busquet as their holding midfielder and he rarely crossed the center line….juve has Vidal and pogba to run for pirlo…even ancelotti had to switch to a flat three and get di maria to help modric and Alonso in defending truth is if ur playing ozil carzola and Walcott and u always need someone to pluck the gap as Ramsey alone can’t tackle all over the pitch it mustn’t be a destroyer but someone that can cover distance…like Sven and gundogan….swheni and khedira etc its one of the reasons why kross and shweini never works and why Bayern where beaten by madrid….if u noticed Bayern started dominating when Martinez came in the second half…..its all just my opinion but I think Wenger will do something about our DM position as in the big games almost all the goals we conceded came after we had given the ball away in midfield and there was no one to recover the ball back

  151. tsgh says:

cabella could push OG12 over the 25 goals a season mark imo… due to their chemistry 3 to 4 years ago at Montpellier..

I like Cuardado as he also defends..

Muriel the Colombian Ronaldo… his weight issue is the problem but he had it all…

Lol Rico.. what I meant by holding is TR07 realising Ramsey to bomb forward… before he came on Ramsey was playing very deep…

I rate both MA08 and Sven… I agree both need to start playing sparsely but I still believe Sven, Lars are not better than MA08.. they still need improving imho..

  152. tsgh says:

Inler was very good in Basel.. he fell off but he has improved under Rafa so.. he has the right mix of skills…

    Hi Snap..ditto re 4:11

  153. ktr7 says:

Apparently we have scored only 11 direct free kicks in the last 8 years…

ts how would you fit in cesc?

  154. tsgh says:

Kt- I rate Ox highly but to me he is not a CM or DM…

AW needs to use him as a winger only..
I know Scott has suggested we should try Ox as a striker but based on how Ox plays I am not so sure…

As I use to say about JW before even AW used the same exact words I used on here…

the way a player shields or receives the ball tells you if he is naturally a central player…

To me Ox struggles when he has a decision to make or with his back against goal like most English midfield players apart from Barkley, Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes…

4 of the goals we conceded against the top teams came from Ox having too much time on the ball in CM and with him deciding to switch play across midfield… Chelsea’s 2nd and 3rd goal comes to mind…

I was at Stamford bridge that day when Ozil had the ball from deep he most probably expected Ox and Sc19 to make certain manoeuvres that they both failed to do… it coursed Ozil to dwell on the ball until he was dispossessed.

  155. snaparse says:

I like cuadrado but I just love draxler more for our lhs……he has a higher ceiling than hazard imo

  156. rico says:

‘higher ceiling’? That’s a new one on me.

What difference does the height of their ceiling at home make? 😉

  157. rico says:

snaparse, a player who is excellent at his job, a player who won’t shrink when we play in the big games, a player who truly wants to play for Arsenal FC and who is prepared to fight from the start to the finish every time he plays…

I don’t care whether that player costs £1 million or £20 million, I just want the right one…..

  158. tsgh says:

    definitely covering Rico… lol

Kt, sorry re Cesc…too many cooks comes to mind.

My solution will be to swap Ozil for Kroos and get Cesc as the no.10

  159. ktr7 says:

ts wenger’s philosophy has always been about having an AM on one side and a WF on the other.I think Ox could occupy the former role well since he has the advantage of having the pace to take on a FB unlike say santi.I think he should rotate with santi not theo since he doesn’t like to make many runs in behind and thats why we need an alternative to theo in the squad.

  160. tsgh says:

With Cesc,I think it will all depend on what role JW and Ramsey will be prepared to play…
A player making an average of 3 tackles a game imho should be doing what he does best in the team… Rijkaard was never turned into a Gullitt; neither did Davids or Cocu…
Even the likes of Makelele, Hassler, Keane and PV04 did not make 3 SUCCESSFUL tackles per game

Look at Juve with Vidal’s new role… they haven’t pushed on even with the addition of Tevez and Llorente; Vidal is a WC box to box midfielder but Juve needing to breach 2 rolls of 4 defensive lines in most games made Conte push him in a more attacking role… he is doing well but Pirlo and Podga do not have the same presence in the deeper role as Vidal..

  161. rico says:

Re Cesc, I think everyone is complicating things.

    It’s pretty simple imo,

Does AW want to resign him?

And if he does, does Cesc want to return?

Until that has been decided, trying to work out if, or where would he fit in, is a waste of time…

  162. ktr7 says:

ts am also hoping the RB we sign can make overlapping runs like Zabaleta does.he causes so much havoc since he knows exactly when to attack the box or hug the touchline.Sagna was average to say the least at that.Aurier looks promising though…

  163. frednerk says:

Been waiting for Ts to post a list of how many players linked to us so far.
I know she just scored rico ..but I’ve always rated Kelly Smith, she’s the best I’ve seen.

  164. rico says:

    You talking football fred? 😉

Kelly Smith is a super player, shame she popped off to the States when she did….

  165. tsgh says:

Rico, as I said earlier though Cesc is not coming back… I am as sure of that as I was with us signing Ozil last summer

  166. rico says:

None of us know that for sure Ts. Yes we have an opinion on what he might do, but that’s all…

Ozil? Not sure anyone saw that one coming until the dying days of the transfer window…

  167. rico says:

    Smith 35 years old

    Yankey 34 years old.

The new ladies manager will struggle to replace those two…

  168. tsgh says:

No one knows for sure Rico… because it depends on a lot of factors as we all know

On Ozil, when we were being linked with Benzema, and Di Maria I did mention it will most probably be Ozil but it will depend on the player… way back in May and June

  169. Adam says:

Afternoon Rico. Just watching the ladies who are doing well but they should be a couple of goals up.

  170. frednerk says:

Deed read somewhere that Fabs girlfriend wants to live in london so her two kids can go to school here.
Not sure but did shy buy a place in chelsea, when shy split from her husband.

  171. tsgh says:

    lol Fred… exactly;

I am sure he is a nice man but he has had his time… we need new ideas tactically…

  172. tsgh says:

Germany vs Cameroon later will be a game and a half.

Dna, I am watching the ladies game so…

  173. rico says:

Afternoon Adam. Me too and I agree, although Everton could have scored just before the break….

  174. allezkev says:

Hmm Fred, that is quite a conundrum…

Do I, or don’t I, walk around with Bender on my back???

You know what, if we sign him, and he is shit-hot, then I still will probably give the Bender shirt a miss…

No doubt the lads in The Rocket, will still dream up some kind of risqué, but comical little ditty that we can all cheerfully sing along to on the New North Bank and the New Clock End…

  175. Adam says:

2-0. Yes, Danni Carter is tricky. Smith is using her experience well and I like the two Japanese girls.

  176. Gunnerdna says:

    Ben Fairthorne @BFairthorne · 8m
Arsenal have made contact with Darren Dein in relation to resigning Cesc Fabregas.

  177. Adam says:

Yes and Ohno was unlucky after a great move. I wonder what sort of contracts these girls are on?

  178. rico says:

Certainly a lot better contract than I was ever on Adam.. 😉

🙂 re Atkinson but I bet you are right….

  179. rico says:

I wonder if Stan Kroenke is at the ground supporting the ladies.

    Bill Kenwright is supporting Everton….

  180. Adam says:

Harsh Rico. You were at full stretch for the last one. You almost ‘did’ my cruciate. 🙂

  181. tsgh says:

Kev, Klopp has bought Immobile from Torino…

We stayed away because allegedly Juve and Torino owned the player; watch out for him next season…

    AW you tw**

  182. tsgh says:

Where is my fave scouser Emma btw?

Did I not say last season Isco won’t make the WC squad if he joined RM? lol

  183. allezkev says:

Adam fortunately you avoided serious injury because of your powers of anticipation…

Memories of Peter Storey came flooding back… 😛

  184. allezkev says:

    Don’t know Rico…

If he has, then that’s it, all sorted…

Been a nice warm day in London Town today…

  185. rico says:

Just kidding Kev re Cesc and his many homes which no doubt will be reported by the press halfwits….

  186. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Immobile goes to Dortmund
    Arsenal Ladies? 2-0?
    Portugal 1-0 England (Toulon)
Manaus (Brazil) “in the middle of nowhere…” said the live commentator ofe England v. Peru 😉
In fact, Manaus is in Amazonia… a very hard place

  187. Hell Raising Devil says:

Ginge that miss was incredible. Even Baggio’s penalty was not so laughable.

the only explanation was that he kicked it with his middle foot. 😆

    Good evening chappies and lasses.

Just back from a 5.5mile run. Lungs are on the verge of explosion.

Good to see the ladies win 2-0.

  188. tsgh says:

lol Dev was that a 5.5 minutes run? 😛

    Le quiff indeed… lol

Adonis stop dreaming mate… if Cesc comes back presumably on his original salary we have to give Ozil an improved offer as he took a pay cut to join us…

Cesc will be unveiled in due course though just to sweeten folks…

  189. Hell Raising Devil says:

    night Lady.

no Ginge……..a 5.5mile run mon ami.

I do want Cesc back. but not at the expense of Ozil.

  190. tsgh says:

    Just teasing…

Cesc will be a nice marquee signing… the pundits will no doubt say something negative though…

I love Ozil; I just do not see how Cesc and Ozil will fit in especially with Santi still around…

  191. Hell Raising Devil says:

Cesc can play further back Ginge. a sort of Pivote. like Xavi at Barca and Pep before him.

Ozil cannot play that position but can play on the wings.

    So there is this permutation……..

    Flamini Ramsey
    Ozil, Cesc, cazorla

    Or this permutation….

    Cesc, Ramsey
    Theo, Ozil, Cazorla

    Or this permutation……

    Cesc, Ramsey
    OX,Ozil, Podolski

all of them can fit with JW10 in any of the b2b and AM position. So Jack can rotate with them and keep the rest of them fit. And himself as well.

With Cesc we have the following players for 5 positions…..Cesc, Flamini, Ramsey, Wilshere, OX, Theo, Cazorla, Ozil, Podolski.

That is 9 players for 5 positions.

Snap, it will make several people happy so… 😉

I believe AW will allow the bidding war to proceed and take the cash… moreover can we realistically match his salary? Will he want the arm band ahead of MA08?

  193. Hell Raising Devil says:

Ginge………MA08 will have to go then.

If we get Cesc yes. He will be sold or told to find a club.

  194. Hell Raising Devil says:

TR07 will be kept I think. For the simple reason that he can play in all of the positions above. And also rest them as well.

I would keep TR07……although I like MA as well. However it would be unkind to MA08 to hang around with places so limited for him.

  195. tsgh says:

I am with you Dev but I still maintain MA08 is our best DM…

He excels in all areas ahead of Flamini..

You, Snap, Kt and I all suspected MA08 will be ahead of Flamini if all were fit and indeed Flamini could not displace MA08…

  196. Hell Raising Devil says:

Brain wise and tactically wise he is better than Flamini

But leg wise he is not. His legs have gone mate. His speed is very down.

  197. tsgh says:

In my view, there is only 1 way for Cesc and that is down hill.. it all depends on how sharp the gradient will be…

Unfortunately for him he was approached his peak at 19 y.o.. at his age he has played at the top longer than even Iniesta who did not peak until 26/27…

Yes Cesc still had the highest assist in La liga with 24 over 2 years but unless he starts to play deeper like he did 2 seasons before he left us and I doubtful he will replicate his form…

I am also surprised Enrique of all people wants to sell Cesc…

  198. tsgh says:

But re tackles and interception, Flamini does not even make top 20 in the EPL…

As slow as MA08 is he is still top 5 in the EPL in terms of tackles and interception amongst Lucas of Liverpool, Morgan, Ramsey and the Aussie kid from Crystal Palace…

MA08 even made more tackles than Man city’s Fernandinho…

  199. snaparse says:

I love arteta but he should be a squad player that the kids can learn off from next season his legs are gone and he struggles to play so many games..

  200. tsgh says:

true dev,,, you have been banging on about kruse since…

lol Snap… that omission of Kruse was suicidal in my view

  201. Scott From Oz says:

I have one thing to say on Fabregas.
On FB last night, I wrote a post on him, and the bloody IPad corrected his name to Fibreglass.
It was the joke of the night.
    That is all 🙂
    Morning all.
On a serious note, IF Cesc was on fact a problem in the dressing room, then I don’t want him back.
If that rumour is incorrect, I’d give my left arm to get him back.
We get would know, and if we don’t chase him, I would assume the rumour is factual.
We have team harmony, and no single player is worth upsetting that.

  202. Scott From Oz says:

    Ginge, that is interesting.
I’ve never seen the guy play, so can’t offer an opinion.
    Plenty like him, though.

  203. rico says:

    Morning Scott and all.

The England players have been told to sing the National Anthem in Rio.

Utter disgrace, they shouldn’t need telling, they should proud to do so!!

  204. tsgh says:

This morning reports reckon shitty and the dippers are not interested in Cesc anymore…

Where is Malaga Gooner when you need reliable info? 😛

  205. tsgh says:

France vs Para’ last night made me miss Sagna even more…

A top top professional he was; shame we couldn’t match his salary expectation…

Remy and OG12 looked good too… AW did not comment on Remy though…
