Morning all.
So then, the ‘main man’ at Arsenal has finally put pen to paper and signed a new three year deal.
I’m not really sure what to think. I’ve been thinking about De Boer and Bergkamp and their links to the Premier League and I’ll put my hands up and admit that there was a part of me which hoped they were about to become integral to our clubs future.
It wasn’t to be….
So I guess it’s now time to get right behind Arsene Wenger again and trust me, I’d like to be right behind him kicking his backside through this transfer window because he sure needs it.
I want to stay and to continue to develop the team and the club. We are entering a very exciting period. We have a strong squad, financial stability and huge support around the world. We are all determined to bring more success to this club.
The club has always shown faith in me and I’m very grateful for that. We have gone through fantastic periods and also periods where we have had to stick together. Every time when that togetherness was tested I got the right response. I think I have shown some loyalty as well towards this club and hopefully we can make some more history. I am sure we can.
Well Arsene Wenger is talking the talk isn’t he?
He wants to make more history. Well I suggest he go and spend some of money available because otherwise, his next three years could be very unpleasant, in fact the first year will be just that if things don’t change in this transfer window.
But it’s not only about him, as behind him is a board and majority shareholder and both need to either support the manger in what he wants to do, or rule him with a rod of iron if he’s not prepared to spend good money on really really good players.
As Scott said yesterday on here, Arsene Wenger’s next three years could very well be decided by the way both he and the club act over the next three months!
Wenger isn’t stupid is he?
He’s sat in his comfy seat at The Emirates fiddling with his zip, listening to the fans make clear their views on more than one occasion this season.
Does anyone think he’ll want more of that?
I don’t!
He also knows that we all know that £150 million is in the bank crying out to be spent and I don’t think he’ll be stupid enough not to spend a vast chunk of that money.
I don’t think there is one fan who wants him to throw money at other clubs for the sake of it, the sensible amongst the Arsenal fans just want him to finally sign players who we truly need and stop plugging the gaps in the side with players who aren’t able to play in the position they are asked to.
Just have a squad which is strong and very deep by the time pre-season begins.
This truly could be a great summer and a equally great season ahead, IF, Arsene Wenger and the board want it to be.
But everyone at Arsenal need to sing off the same hymn sheet and if they don’t, the unrest will remain and it will only get worse….
It has to be a good summer… Doesn’t it?

Rico – I think Arsene/Arsenal will sign some good players this summer, not just bargain basement stand ins. There seems to be a lot more actually happening this year. We seem to be credited with actually making bids already on a few players.

Morning all in da house, good post Rico, spot on, it’s not just about spending money but spending it right. The right players for the right positions, not stop gaps. Arsenal need to be aggressive in the market and stop pissing about, get in early and hard. Not sure about the Llalana love in though, didn’t really standout that much in what was a pretty average game, against a less than average Peruvian side.Like some on here i to have had the Java plugin and other nasties on chrome. Potter, so far so good for me today ref java. Had trouble with it all week, just kept back clicking a couple of times and it went away, sometimes to return later. Looks like I have missed the fun and games today.
I did have some trouble with it yesterday but like Kev i am running AVG and they sorted it out. There are 2 versions Rico a free basic download from the net or a more advanced version which you have to pay for. I am using Firefox as my browser and have also Hitman Pro installed. I think AVG and the Hitman are a pretty good team and and keep my PC safe.

Bt, I think Remy will give us pace and directness, he not everyone’s cup of tea by a long stretch but he’s played in the premier league long enough to know that we should be able to rely on him getting us 15 goals a season plus… has to be better than what we didn’t have last year. Now add another pacy direct striker and we’re in business. I’d really try and get Sanchez from Barca I think he’d be proper for us or are we really really going for Di Maria…?
