Puma and three signings announced…..

Morning All,

Well a big week ahead, the new Puma kit is officially released (Yes I know you can apparently buy it in Macau or also through AA so Micko says, No not alcoholics anonymous) many people speculated months ago that both Arsenal and Puma would want to make a big song and dance of the new Brand and kit launch and what better way than to unveil the kits and a few new signings. I think the closer we get to the official kit launch the more likely it looks that we will indeed announce player signings, is this the reason no player purchases have actually been announced…? Have Arsenal done deals and kept them under wraps until this week…? It would make good commercial sense and would also explain why it seems that we have been quiet on the players coming in.

We know the World Cup has made things difficult to tie up targets that could of been involved due to the fact yes we can deal with the selling club and agents but hardly easy to then sit down with a player and thrash out a deal and do medicals etc etc….!

I could be very wrong and will accept all the flak in due course if/when wrong but I think Arsenal have been busy since the end of the season. I think for a change we know exactly who we want and I think behind the scenes we have been trying to make it happen. As much as we moan about the lack of transfer activity at Arsenal and our apparent lack of nous when it comes to signing players the last few seasons the people running our club are certainly not stupid. They must know where they stuffed up and they will also know after the loss last August to Villa at home the fans know the funds are there to be spent, expect the funds to be spent and want to see quality players brought into the club, If not then reap the whirlwind. Those same people at the club won’t want our new sponsors thinking we are a club lacking ambition, Puma will expect a high level of player purchases to promote their Brand and allow them to promote Arsenal as a premium brand with quality players. What ever way you look at it both need star names at Arsenal and that’s why I think this next week will be a big week.

Along with the rumours and gossip there seems to be way too much smoke to think there isn’t fire on the Debuchy links and comments from him seem to indicate the deal will be confirmed soon. The Alexis Sanchez deal is obviously complicated and after all we’re dealing with those “A-holes” at Barca so we know they will want to milk the deal for every penny possible. Having said that it seems Sanchez genuinely does want to come to Arsenal and that he is now back in Europe to sort out his future, I think he will be unveiled as an Arsenal player along with the new kit later this week and to make up the three my money is on Schneiderlin also joining us, If it’s Khedira I will also be very happy but with him still involved in the WC can’t see that deal being announced so if it’s Khedira then only two players announced this week with Khedira to follow, I could live with that.

I know it’s a Sunday and I know most will laugh at my thoughts on this but think about it, Arsenal are money driven and want to consolidate and make the most of the Puma sponsorship, they need the exposure to be big and what better way than a few new players at the same time.

Keep your fingers and everything else crossed……..

Have a good day.

    Morning All,

Ok Ok so I’m in a good mood and I think this week will be a good week for The Arsenal… if you don’t agree that’s up to you but for once I’m on the positive side of thinking…..!

  2. Wath says:

Rico as for Ts, the second your back the stats appear……

He was under the impression you’d allow them as your a soft touch lol

He knows full well I’ll bin them and him… along with his made up stuff he admitted to earlier lol…..

    Now we know… 😀

  3. rico says:

    Morning Wath and all.

I think you may just be spot on with your thoughts, no way would Puma want to be denied a lot of glory with any new signings and what better way to present our new deal to everyone than to have a few signings announced at the same time or very soon after.

Or maybe I have simply been out in the sunshine too much…. 😉

And a huge thanks to you for looking after HH last week…. 🙂

  4. Wath says:

HH looks after itself Rico as the ppl on here make it fun and the banter is always good and never any problems with the regulars that’s for sure.

  5. Tonny Laudrup says:

I wil neva bliv in Arsene Wenger until every thing z confirmed. Thats how Mata n many mo playerz neva joined Arsenal.

  6. Wath says:

Well Wenger hasn’t said anything Tonny, so lets hope we get the players we want and who I think will join… If not everyone can call be a delusional idiot…!

Not yet either you lot… 😉

  7. rico says:

I know Wath, but you had to scribble most days 🙂

Tony, neither will most but this summer has to be different…. He wouldn’t have signed a new contract and then make few/no signings I’m sure.

  8. goonster says:

Hahahahah typical…it’s not gonna happen. Since when has wath ever been right? He barely knows his right leg from his left. I say wait for a last minute mad dash on Sept 2. Yes we ve signed debauchery but that’s it. Sanchez ain’t coming so get used to it. We re e fucked again. Don’t know why we keep falling for this every window. It’s just a ploy to make us renew our season tickets. Morning all.

  9. Wath says:

Stan you orange yank you don’t have a season ticket so no need for you to worry…. How’s your mate Mata…..!

I ate 3 shredded wheat this morning and am convinced this will be a good week for Arsenal…! We’ll see…!

  10. Luznic says:

welcome back Rico, Morning Wath and all……I think the Debuchy deal is done and dusted, the S deal is complicated because of Liverpool but I think he wants Arsenal I feel we will get Khedira instead of Schneiderlin, I like the positive post I know we will capture at least a superstar

  11. rico says:

Thanks luznic.. I think pretty much the same as you re Debucy and AS, the latter has apparently cut short his holiday to sort his future out, just hope all the stories abut him not wanting a move to Liverpool are true…

  12. Wath says:

Luz, anything that involves Barca is complicated, suits them to have an auction and to try get as much cash as possible for “S” but we are cash rich, we need to flex our cash muscles and to act accordingly…!

  13. Bt62 Gooner says:

Afternoon all in da house, Wath you inspire me! lol….Rico, is the sun still shining.?..lol

  14. goonster says:

Rico 😀 am ecstatic. We showed character last night. Champions stuff. I heard hereeven Amsterdam Rotterdam and my beloved Arnhem was buzzing last night. It’s our time rico. It’s time for the dutch. Wath take a hike bozo 😀 oraaaaaaaanje

  15. Wath says:

Holland would indeed of been buzzing last night… Everyone would of been off their nut…..! Orange yank donis…. lol

Bt, I think that haze from Holland affected my brain… I just think the Puma deal is a huge opportunity that both puma and Arsenal will want to make the most of…! As said will probably be way off and totally wrong but hey ho….. lol

When am wrong it’s back to the grey goose for me…..!

  16. potter says:

I’m just getting more and more disillusioned by the whole football thing. Watching the antics at the world cup , listening to the ex players justifying the whole cheat and win scenario , It’s not the game I grew up with anymore. It’s like a drug that I wish I could walk away from. I am fed up with the effect that money which has pervaded the whole thing is now more important than the game itself. I always told my son and his mates that sport was good for you because it taught you lessons in life like the ability to take losing in your stride and give you the reason to come back and win next time around. Now it seems losing doesn’t matter as long as you get paid. Do players actually want to play or just take the cash .Do managers , owners , national coaches even care about how things are achieved and do fans that used to be the moral arbiters only look at the result. They might as well throw loaded dice.

  17. goonster says:

Rico he cut it short cause he heard juve are interested plus shitty could just blow us all out of the water. Higuain anyone? Not going to happen. If it does I ll pee on the Lincoln memorial 😀

  18. Wath says:

I agree potter and the rot started with sky getting involved and since then the downward money spiral has been in free fall….! We just the plebs who love our clubs and cannot and will never walk away yet the mercenary players just get rich with zero feelings for any club and it’s purely a job to them now.

  19. Wath says:

Jide, that’s purely media speculation…. it may well happen BUT if we buy two quality strikers would you be upset..?

Campbell looks the business but until he has done it in an Arsenal shirt we really can’t get to excited.

  20. goonster says:

Hahahaha rico that’s what you said during the second round and quarter finals. We re the best team in the tournament. We ll win it in a counter. Yesterday was a huge test and we blazed it. Messi and his cohorts ll just be another step on the ladder. We’re winning this maam. Watch this space. Oraaaaaaaanje.

  21. potter says:

Jide :- Loaning Campbell is another dilemna for him , I f he keeps him then he has to let Sanogo go on loan. That might be step too far for his personal ego.

  22. rico says:

Jide, mixed reports surround Campbell, most of which have come from a guy purporting to be his agent, but he’s not….

  23. Adam says:

Hi Potter. I tend to agree with those sentiments. I was at a big outdoor wedding yesterday and got chatting to an ex-Southampton director about Arsenal and their transfer dealings re Schneiderlin. Interesting insights.
It seems that most down there think Pochettino will get the sack within 12 months.

  24. goonster says:

Wath we ain’t getting no 2 strikers you twit. It’s debauchery a freebie keeper and we re done. Wanna bet? 200 quid each?

  25. Wath says:

Potter…. Sanogo…. indeed a big decision to be made but ego aside the sensible route is a loan with a european side who will play him regularly so the kid learns…!

  26. rico says:

If Holland win, so be it but it will be far from deserved after watching Robben dive so much, but then the antics of other sides leave a lot to be desired to, as have the performances from many officials.

The WC has been a dreadful advert for the proper game of football imo….

  27. Wath says:

Stan, you couldn’t tip shit out of a bucket so what do you know…. 200 quid… you couldn’t afford 2 p…..!

  28. goonster says:

Hahahahahahhaha you bet I csn afford it if it’s just to spite you. Heck I ll even rob a bank. It’s on wath. 200 pounds each. Rico and the whole if HH is our witnesses. I ll rub your nose in the dung wathy boy. Watch out.

  29. rico says:

Just a thought, isn’t AW in Rio until the WC ends?

Should he not be at the club when the new Puma deal is announced?

  30. Bt62 Gooner says:

Wath, i agree the Puma launch is a big opportunity, also does the Emms deal, not have performance related clauses inserted in it? AW cannot afford to stuff it up again…or can he?…

  31. Luznic says:

wath like I said some days ago barca has no honor, Rico are we sure he cut his holiday? so far the dotted line is not ready he can speak through his agent, cutting holiday is just to put the heat on fans and clubs interested and goonie stop thinking your flying Robben will win u the world cup the end is near, Germany will win it and we are going to witness another Italia 90 final again, Tony and Jide………..what do you want for once? let’s leave Arsene to make his decision I have a special feeling his plans will work fine this time…..he is Arsene remember even though I am not his fan right now but never forget his achievements and he is as normal a man unlike that Portuguese dwarf

  32. Wath says:

Now France are out will he return to London Rico….?

Stan do you not have a nappy to go wipe…? Dry your eyes……..

  33. Gogo says:

A Sanchez Puma shirt will be the highest ever seller at the club! will outsell the Bergkamp & Henry shirts of the past. Cannot wait!!!!

  34. fatgun_ug says:

    Hi all HHers,
    Welcome back rico.
We are going to sign Loic, just vs his rumours have died out and ofcourse Debuchy.
They both are French, cheap with prem experience and that is our main yardstick for transfers. Any transfer that gets reported in the papers as almost done never happens. We usually get to know when people are having medicals.
I.pray am.wrong cz I can’t wait to see Alexis in the red and white

  35. Bt62 Gooner says:

Stan, have followed the Dutch for years in tournaments, but just can’t get behind this Dutch side.

  36. rico says:

luznic, no I’m not sure, but that’s what the papers report… lol

Good point Wath, let’s hope so…. Can’t see him missing any kind of glory… lol

  37. goonster says:

Bt it’s only right I support them. Half the known world knows of my hatred for robbing van herpes. But hey I gotta be patriotic. I hope we win it for my beloved netherlands. We re the only super power yet to win it. Us and maybe Portugal.

  38. fatgun_ug says:

Right about what?Loic and Debuchy? Only? If we add Schnerderlin, that will do for me. The least we can expect

  39. frednerk says:

Hope your right wath..Puma wanting quality players,
takes me back to the bank….
after loaning us the money for the new stadium, the bank added that

It would be in the best interest for all if the arsenal spent the money which we would have from the new 60,000 crowd on players to fill the seats.
What did wenger do..sold our best players, and gave everyone a pay rise.

  40. Wath says:

Fatgun, Remy alone won’t be enough or acceptable even with Campbell… The fans won’t settle for that either.

We need a Sanchez type player and a Sanchez type quality signing… Preferably two….!

Schneiderlin or Khedira would be top notch as they the kind of players we also need for central midfield in my opinion it’s still the first week of July, plenty time yet as long as the donkey work behind the scenes has been taken care of…!

  41. Wath says:

I hear ya Fred but I think ever Mr stubborn has realised the fans won’t put up with it any longer…. they excuses and tales of having no cash won’t wash we all know it’s there…!

Puma won’t settle for excuses either and I think more and more who are “upstairs” at the club also know things need to be done properly.

I think the pay increases certainly came back to bite his arse when we had so much dead wood sitting doing nothing due to their wages and being unable to move them on and them being unwilling to move just happy to earn their pension from us.

  42. frednerk says:

wenger said he would only bring exceptional talent to arsenal now
what did he do….go’s and signs
a geezer with a broken back,
a geezer who pissed off for for free
a geezer who could’nt score in a brothel
and a geezer who could’nyt catch a cold.

  43. frednerk says:

Wath anyone else on this planet would have burned a hole in their pockets by now..I no I’ve said it before but,
Wenger will never be one of my drinking mates.Tight bastard.

  44. Wath says:

I don’t want him as a drinking mate Fred I just want him to buy the right players….!

I am thinking his contract took so long because certain areas of buying players has been taken out of his care and worry so all he now has to do is identify and then convince a player once the groundwork been done on a deal… Again just an opinion but that’s how it should be and also how can he be in Brazil and nothing gets done if it’s now not like that..?

  45. frednerk says:

Ronnie Biggs stole less than the average England player gets paid a week,
yet he managed to stay in brazil for effing 31 years.

  46. goonster says:

Hahahahah wath are you smoking wath I want some. Puma won’t stand any excuse he says. Since when does the board and wenger listen to anyone and FYI puma needs us more than we need them. There ll be no strong hand tactics. We ll sign fuck all. Ozil was one off. It won’t happen again not on this side of judgement day.

  47. frednerk says:

Unless it’s all changed wath regarding transfers
wenger being in brazil and all that, surely the signings would have been done by now.

  48. ktr7 says:

Good read. Its incredible how Robben gets better with age.Since bottling in the 2010 WC final and 2012 CL final he has become so decisive nowadays.he may be a master at theatrics but he is very very good at football.

  49. goonster says:

Lee my brudder…keep watching just enjoy the world cup for in 7 days time I ll be saying I told you so. Oraaaaaaaanje. Come on.

  50. rico says:

fred, we have to hope we will be seeing a ‘new Wenger’, one who wants to last the full 3 years of his contract….

  51. goonster says:

He’s still a coont kt. Most dutch fans can’t stand him either. He brings the game and us dutch man into disrepute. Bald Eagle looking twat face walking like his nappy’s gonna fall off anytime soon. Man I hate that turd face twat. Cost us the world cup 4 years ago in south Africa. I ll never forgive him.

  52. Lee says:

Robben and Suarez great footballers but cheats so that un does how good they are…… same as that Argentinian cheat Maradona!!!

  53. Wath says:

Same as Thomas Muller Lee….! Great players but ruined due to the fact they just cheats…!

  54. agirlagunner says:

Like you, WATH, I’m feeling positive about this transfer window. Can’t wait for our three top signings in their Puma kits. 🙂 🙂 It makes good commercial sense to get these players in concurrent with the launch. Already, I am excited.

Hello, Lady rico. Hello, all!! 🙂

  55. allezkev says:

    What’s this….?!!!

    A new post!!!!!

    Is it today’s post???

Or is tomorrow’s post, early???? 😀

  56. AndrewH13 says:

Hope you right Wath, we really do need quality of Sanchez or Di Maria. Big week.

What’s with Skybet suddenly listing Walcott at 6/4 Man Utd and 21 Pool? Have I missed something?

  57. Wath says:

Hi AGAG, yep I think if we don’t get new players in this week then not only are the board and the deal makers negligent they have also missed out on a massive opportunity.

  58. agirlagunner says:

The Ozil kit must have been the top seller last season; it stands to reason that the :S” shirt would be, too.

  59. Wath says:

A new star player will always sell lots of shirts….! If the player then does the business on the pitch then the sales boom…!

The marketing department along with Puma would be dreaming of star players to join in line with the new Kit unveiling…! The worldwide exposure would be massive and as said if it’s just the new kit would that not be a little bit of a let down…! All about opportunity and hitting the market the best way possible…!

  60. AndrewH13 says:

I’d like to believe their odds on 1-2 for us getting Sanchez. But if we are outbid this time it will be more than disappointing. Walcott and Sanchez flying through for Ozil passes. Giroud knocking back into Ramsey’s and Cazorla’s late runs. Can dream can’t I as its Sunday?

  61. agirlagunner says:

WATH, I hope the AFC recruitment group is reading our blog. 🙂 They can’t be dumb, surely, even if their dealings in the transfer market may often appear that way. 😀

All is looking bright, Andrew. rico, two top, top signings will suit me fine. 🙂

  62. allezkev says:

    Afternoon All….

    Wath, I was up at 7am , I’ll have you know… 🙂

It was actually a very good post…

Rico, I reckon that Wath should do at least 50% of the posts from now on, just to give you a regular break…

I’d love to see Arsenal signing all those really top top players out there.

Wath, have you decided where we’re all going, when you get that £200 off of Stan…?

  81. agirlagunner says:

KC, we can’t afford the biting S. 😀

Gtid, certainly hope it’s true. Fingers crossed.

rico, not a fan of either Djokovic or Federer; but I’ll guess I’ll go with Wimbledon’s golden boy. Although it feels icky saying that.

  82. rico says:

    I like McEnroe – sadly he’s not playing… 😉

But he’s there and looking mighty fine I have to say….

  83. allezkev says:

Agag, the driving is good, thanks.
The sun has broken thru and I’m topping up my tan… 🙂

What about the Oxford Arms Wath….?

  84. agirlagunner says:

FIFA only cares because it’s the host country’s golden boy; when Giroud challenged the Swiss defender for a ball; the latter came off much worse and fractured a cheekbone/eye socket. FIFA didn’t so much as bat an eyelash. Not that I want Giroud suspended, of course… 😉

  85. Lee says:

“S” has not got an Arsenal shirt on yet but I’m feeling positive!
Ozil will be threading balls through on to real pace and Giroud next season…..

  86. Wath says:

Don’t frequent many round there Kev, The Robert Peel and sometimes the Worlds End thats it… rest of the time it’s a few places round the back of Hol Rd and down the Cally…!

  87. goonster says:

Not gonna happen lee..don’t get your hopes up. This stinks of mata all over again. Plus wath is in on it meaning It’s off. He’s a jinx that fella wath. Howdy agag Federer is a coont. Am a Nadal boy 😀

  88. Wath says:

The only thing the mata with Stan is he still devastated at looking a complete twat telling the whole world it was a done deal lol

You know it makes sense Lee 😉

  89. agirlagunner says:

Federer always seems so churlish. Can’t even be gracious in interviews. I like Nadal, too, goonie. 🙂 🙂

  90. agirlagunner says:

rico and Wath, today’s post is already in the top 10 of AFC’s page at Newsnow. 😉

  91. Kc says:

A front three of ox sanchez and theo..honestly, I would like Theo to be played on the left wing..don’t know if it will work though

  92. rico says:

    🙂 Wath..

Me neither Kc, surely this week we’ll know…

    I didn’t notice that agag 🙂

  93. Kc says:

Schneiderian or khedira, let’s break the bank for Vidal and TS will change his name to ARSENE FOREVER

  94. Kc says:

Rico..I think Theo will be more of a goal threat cutting in from that left side and will be picked by ozil passes..don’t realy understand why he rarely interchange factoring that the crosses he provides from the right wing are wasted since we are useless scoring from crosses

  95. Wath says:

I think Schneiderlin over Khedira purely down to having prem lge experience but as said before either would do me…! Big strong central midfielders both of whom are also good on the ball.

  96. goonster says:

    Keep telling yourself that wath
You re a jinx and you know it. Sanchez is a good as dead as soon as your crummy hands typed he is a done deal.

  97. rico says:

Kc, the Newcastle game convinced me he could be far better playing on the left, it makes sense to me but then I am no football coach or manager… 😉

Wath, plus he’d cost a lot more than Morgan who is already proved in this league….

  98. Kc says:

I like Schneiderlin too and think we are in for him..only tine will tell us starting from next Thursday

  99. Kc says:

    but then I
    am no football coach or
manager…don’t be one ,we love YOU here, you gives us the pleasure to be theoretically football managers here ..lol

  100. Nickie says:

Wath 11.54am…you said I was silly for being positive or believing! welcome to the dark side lol

Nice post Rico, nice to have you back.

    Afternoon all

  101. Luznic says:

Every ITK reporting S deal is almost done, Barca accept arsenal’s £32m deal and personal terms also concluded……..this news won’t still trump the Ozil deal

  102. Wath says:

Stan you are a delusional donis… find me anywhere that I have said the “S” deal is done…? your so bitter and twisted cos you stuffed up Mata……. Ok now go clean a nappy it’s all your good for…!

  103. rico says:

🙂 Kc, trust me, I will never be one, nor will I ever try to make out that I could be one. I’ll leave that to other armchair managers across the internet and trust me, there are many…..

  104. rico says:

    Hi Nickie, it’s Wath’s post today… 😉

Can’t say I’m glad to be back but thanks… lol

  105. Wath says:

Nickie, your daft for being positive but i am having a happy sunday but 2moro I won’t believe a word of what I wrote 😉

As said for some reason I just think this week is a huge week in our transfer window, if we don’t but big it could also be a very bad week as well as huge…!

  106. AndrewH says:

Thanks rico, awaiting Thursday then … if not before.

Hi agag, hope you are correct, Sanchez and a good holding midfielder.

One paper made me laugh, said we are close to signing Debuchy ‘AND IT MAY NOT BE THE LAST ARSENAL SIGNING THIS SUMMER’

I bl@@dy well hope its not the last having let go two reserve strikers, a goalie, a full back and probably a centre back!!!

  107. john says:

We will wait, like last summer, and come up with something big. Probably only Debuchy if anyone to be unveiled on the 10th. Either way, I’m happy, as long as the likes of Akpom, Bellerin and Gnabry are still given a chance to win a place amongst the squad.

  108. Joaquim Moreira says:

Casillas? why? Horrible in the crosses, etc…
Valdez? why? Failed fitness tests in Monaco this week
They are very expensive, old goalkeepers and they won everything.

  109. agirlagunner says:

    Later, Kc. 🙂

Some pretty good tennis being played at Wimbledon, rico. 😉 kvitova played a near-perfect game yesterday; and today, both Djokovic and Federer are really pushing each other.

JM, I agree. Maybe, we could bid for one of the great keepers at the WC. But it would e an inflated market, to be sure…

  110. rico says:

Love Kvitova agag, super super player and still only 24….

Loving the mens final too, great tennis….

  111. allezkev says:

Not sure if Wenger is gonna sign a big-name goalkeeper.

He had stuck with Szczesny so far, and he had a pretty good last season, so why bring in a Casillas type?

  112. allezkev says:

Casillas would want to play, and would need too play.
He’d also be on big big wages…

  113. agirlagunner says:

Who do you want in goal, Kev? I do not have a preference at the moment. But I am happy that Fabianski got a winner’s medal before he left. That’s a nice send-off. 🙂

  114. rico says:

I don’t think so either Kev, there’s a couple of freebie keepers on offer, maybe we’ll get one of those…

  115. Joaquim Moreira says:

    i’m still waiting new players
Now, i’m watching Wimbledon. Before, I’ve watched Le Tour (York-Sheffield)

  116. allezkev says:

Ben Sheaf, the kid we signed from West Ham, has a younger brother, who is already at Arsenal….

Good to them keeping it in the family…

  117. allezkev says:

JM, waiting for transfers, is like waiting for a bus…

You wait for ages, and then three come along together at the same time.

    Here’s hoping eh? 😉

  118. allezkev says:

Agag, I ain’t really sure tbh.

I haven’t been totally happy with our goalkeepers since Lehmann left.

Szczesny is good, but is he Cech quality or Seaman quality.
Keepers that give you a psychological edge?

Casillas has been great and a move to England could revitalise his career.

It could also be a disaster…

What do you think, your a sensible fan, except when it comes to Torres. 😀

  119. allezkev says:

    Rico 😆

Yeah, I tend to agree with you re: Keeper.
Wenger will go the cheap option…

    He knows no other way….

  120. rico says:

But why spend loads when there are a few for free Kev?

Just need a keeper who will push Szczesny each week….

  121. SteveKO says:

It’s going to be more of the same in fact worse now that Wenger has a new contract in his pocket and pressure off following FACup win.

I will be amazed if we sign 1 world class player, even now the likes of Debuchey are being mentioned and he is a 28-29 yo defender who didn’t look that crash hot in the WC! Sanchez won’t be signed …. as for Khadeira do we really want a player like him who makes a host of mistakes?? Now Schweinsteiger … hell yes, but that won’t happen. And is anyone else worried how bad AFC players have been doing?? Big Mert dropped after constantly being “found out” Ozil on the brink as he is continuing to look very poor, continuing his displays for us for most of the season, Giroud failed once the going got tough and looked a lumbering mess in this company! Carzola looked out of his depth when he came on for Spain, as did Wiltshire, but to be honest to these 2 they weren’t given that much playing time and were in very average sides.

All in all not really optimistic for the new season, I think the fight for us will be 4th/5th with Man U & sp*rs …. especially with ManU’s opening 3 months fixture list … given the easiest start by far of any of the other top stars …. bit of favouritism at the FA anyone think???

  122. bob john says:

Djokevic just proved that you can cheat in tennis. Didn’t look very injured at the end!

  123. Wavy says:

Rico we.come home, it’s been soooo long!
I’m afraid most of last week just Wathed over me!
We had some good and provocative posts, as always. There’s always something in the store cupboard of the House. Nice to have you back though.

As for transfers well when I see the shirt in their hand(s) and signed Arsenal.com then I’ll believe it! And not one second before! If I had three wishes though…………mmmmm nice!

  124. allezkev says:

Silvio Berlusconi is still moaning about the deal that never was…

A supposed £35/€35 million deal with an un-named EPL club (rumoured to be Arsenal), going down the swanny after Balotelli’s rubbish performance in the WC…

I wonder if it’s a deal that Wenger might revisit later in the TW, if things go tits-up with his other targets, and maybe at a more reduced fee?

  125. Gunnerdna says:

    Guillem Balague ✔ @GuillemBalague

I am convinced that if Arsenal put on the table the money Barcelona want for him, around 30m, Alexis will end up at the Emirates.
    6:56 AM – 6 Jul 2014

  126. Wath says:

Like Jilly Ballagey knows what we have or have not offered… he getting as bad as that knob Hunter…!

  127. Gunnerdna says:

    Gonçalo Lopes @_GoncaloLopes

Done deal: Markovic signs for Liverpool. 25m€
    10:59 AM – 6 Jul 2014

  128. tsgh says:

Kev, this Balo bid has AW all over it…

AFC knows Milan need money! And Aw rarely slates a player but for once he went out of the way to say Balo’ had a very poor WC…

  129. Wath says:

It’s a fact and I have the stats to prove it… lol

You not posted stats in the last week though 🙂

Oh and change that orange profile pic… lol

  130. tsgh says:

potter says: at 12:23 pm- welcome to the club Sir…
With ex pro’s in shorts and slippers being paid with my hard earned TV licence fee telling the viewers how a certain player is world class was not what I had in mind but hey… 😉

What has happened to S. Robson this summer btw? Is he on secondment to Australia? 🙂

  131. Scott From Oz says:

Rico, it’s usually this time of year when I get the shits with people telling us all how crap Wenger is, and he won’t buy a solitary player blah blah blah.
Well this year it will be different.
    Why?
Well, I shan’t waste time or effort reminding these doom and gloom merchants of the name Mesut Ozil.
I mean, he is obviously French and came in on a free transfer in their eyes 🙂 🙂 🙂
Morning all, except those Gooners out there who can see no good in the world at present.
To you I say I hope it’s a bastard of a day, so you can revel in the chance to say “I told ya so” 🙂 🙂 🙂

  132. tsgh says:

You are more than consistent mate… legend!

Where is Micko btw? Is he still sulky because Ireland didn’t make the WC? Lol

  133. Scott From Oz says:

Micko is still searching Macau for the mystery Puma shirt.
Harder to find than the abominable snowman 🙂

  134. tsgh says:

lol… Micko is also Stan Kroenke’s ears on the street assigned to HH… 😛

You never see Malaga Gooner and Micko posting at the same time… 😛

  135. goonster says:

Ginge am kinda worried about alexis. He ll be mauled in the epl if he hugs the ball for too long like he does in the la liga. Shawcross and his cronies must be licking their lips. If we end up signing him and it’s a massive if…Arsene needs to have a word with him. We don’t want another Eduardorambo leg break.

  136. Scott From Oz says:

Stan, keep building up your orange mob bud…..it’s gonna be one massive fall when they come undone 🙂 🙂 🙂
Sanchez will be better than Suarez mate…….he will fly for us.

  137. goonster says:

Nah I swore no such oath at least not yet…still a dutch man ginge. It ll take much more than uncle Sam to rid me of my dutch heritage.

  138. tsgh says:

Very true Goonie… but I think in this world cup he has held onto the ball longer than he normally does..

Tbh with you, I rather you or the Krauts win the WC; A brazilian team with their 2nd striker so poor he could not start for Everton is not deserving of the wc.

  139. goonster says:

Scotty oz you re still sore huh….Gosh I wished we spelled out Australia. A 9.0 score line would have wiped off that smug look on ur face 😀

  140. goonster says:

Thanks ginge…but I ll rather us. The Germans have 3 world cup titles to their name…we have none. Do the math 😀

  141. tsgh says:

    FC Barcelona: News ™ @fcbarcelonaorg · 2h
BREAKING NEWS: Barcelona have accepted €40M bid for Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. The deal could be wrapped up in few days.

  142. allezkev says:

    What’s that, about £32.4 million…

    God, I hope thag’s not a wind-up…

Typical, Wenger is in the USA, and Arsenal get some business done early.

Do you reckon that Wenger can go to the USA for a month next year?!!!

  143. goonster says:

Yikes so it’s really going to happen? Blimey wath has been right all along…Gee so this is what it feels like to lose a bet. Well am not paying. And you lot can’t make me 😀

  144. goonster says:

I just saw it on Darren arsenal….so it’s really going to happen. Lord God in heaven. We ve got sanchez? Really? ? Somebody pinch me with a jagged but sharp plier. Sanchez in red and white? Critos redemptos. I need me a drink.

  145. allezkev says:

    Hiya Stan…

Don’t tell me that your gonna welch on a bet…

No true Gooner would do that, even an Irange Gooner. 🙂

    I am good btw, thanks…

How are you and the family…

  146. rico says:

Thanks for the welcome home Wavy…

Scott, hopefully all will come good, like you, I think it will… 😉

  147. Scott From Oz says:

Adam, let’s hope it is completed ASAP…no stuffing around, hey?
We tend to do that, on the odd occasion hahaha.
    Rico, keep the faith 🙂

  148. allezkev says:

I have just enjoyed a delicious bottle of Cobra…

To toast our first ever Chile player…

Is it Chilien or Chilian or Chilen?

    Adam help…

  149. Scott From Oz says:

I never got it with Pink Floyd.
    I’ve tried, I really have.
Maybe you had to be there and be on something 🙂

  150. rico says:

Night Kev, in fact night all, two small glasses of Amstel and I’m ready for bed… 😉

    Stay safe all….

  151. Wavy says:

Nobody thinking that Barca appealing for a bit of gazumping then?

When I see it on the Arse web site, then I’ll believe. I will truly believe!

  152. goonster says:

Sancheeeeeeeeeeeez!!! Oh bloody hell. We re really going to sign a second world class talent in less than a year. Christ help me. Hope this don’t blow up in my face like the mata deal. I ll seriously need therapy if that happens. Come on you fucking gunners. Yeaaaaaaaaahhhh

  153. goonster says:

It’s not dna it’s everywhere my man…it’s everywhere. Man I hope this guy’s ain’t messing with my head dna. This is just too good to be true.

  154. goonster says:

These journos can really be cruel sometimes. Lead a man off a cliff if they can just to sell stories. God help me. Am hyperventilating.

  155. Wath says:

I don’t trust barca as far as I can throw them so anything on their sites or linked sites is meaningless….. When we see it on AFC dot com we know it’s true…!.

Lets get this done Arsenal 4 days for the kit launch….!

  156. Gunnerdna says:

Goon, Darren and Geoff ran some story about personal terms being agreed before Sanchez went to the WC some day ago, but i can’t find the tweet about fee agreed, can you post it?

  157. goonster says:

Hahahahahahhaha wath you ll get your money. I ll send you a cheque. Dna it’s no longer there. Funny huh?

  158. goonster says:

Dna if this turns out to be true. The league is ours. Against park the bus teams this guy can unlock their defense. Bro we have a huge talent on our hands. Hope someone is not playing a cruel trick on us. God help me.

  159. goonster says:

Dna this guy ll be immense. In two years Madrid ll bid 80mill for him. He’s in the messi Ronaldo Suarez robben class. Just needs a platform to perform. I can’t wait. Come on you fucking gunners. Yeaaaaaaaaahhhh

  160. Wath says:

Stan, we need more than just him……….. He would be the catalyst for more players coming in and make no mistake he’s top top quality but he isn’t enough to make league champions..!

  161. Gunnerdna says:

Goon, we need more than Sanchez to win the PL imo, just saw John Cross reporting we are back in for Lars Bender.

  162. Wath says:

Can’t see us bothering with Bender Gdna not when Schneiderlin and Khedira are on the wanted list…!

  163. goonster says:

Wath we ve got the ozster rambo santi and theo. All we need now is a fucking dm and the league is ours. Wath we led the league till January. Had we strengthened we could have won the league.

  164. Gunnerdna says:

Egypt international Ahmed Fathi is set to undergo a trial with Arsenal following the conclusion of the Egyptian Premier League this week, Al Ahly football director Alaa Abdel-Sadek confirmed.

  165. Wath says:

Says it all Gdna, he talks as much shit as the rest and likes to think he is ITK…..

We need somene for the central midfield role Stan I agree and also for centre half as I think TV will be off…! Ginter would be ideal in my mind as he can also play DM if need be.

On top of “S” I would really grab Remy as well as I think value for money it makes sense and gives us plenty options offensively..!

  166. Wath says:

A couple of those Egyptian players were very good Gdna, quick direct and caused the Germans lots of problems.

  167. Wath says:

You could be right there Gdna, Ok best I redo the headline on the post and make it four signings not three lol 🙂

  168. Wath says:

I’m off, have a good night all… Take it easy… you to Stan you big Robben lover………… 😉

  169. GoonerEris says:

Lol, Wath. It was the Algerians who played against the Germans, not the Egyptians. Both have similarities in playing styles though.

  170. Lee says:

I see FIFA have changed the rules allowing Silva to play for Brazil in the semi final tomorrow?!?!? You can’t make this shit up can you? I fucking hope Brazil get absolutely spanked tomorrow!!! Wankers!

  171. Jamescadar says:

I don’t trust wenger with signing of any player, i’ll wait till d last day of the transfer market. This Sanchez rumour is just a smoke that will disappear soon let’s not put our hope that it will happen.

  172. richard in spain says:

Moring Rico lets get back to the bagels we know they are happening ,did they turn out ok and no bad after effects?

  173. Scott From Oz says:

    Hi guys.
    I’ll stick with Germany.
They were my tip at the start, and are looking strong.
    Best all round squad.

  174. rico says:

Hi Adam, surrounding the World Cup?

No, there was little talk about it but I did watch a few matches early evening….

  175. Adam says:

The only good thing is that Alan Hansen is going to vanish from our screens for good. His vitriol re Per Mertesacker the other evening was crass. I can’t stand him.

  176. Scott From Oz says:

I think I’ve watched 3 games in total.
Highlights packages are good enough for me.

  177. Adam says:

Scott. Me too. Highlights have been limited and crammed between bouts of cheating, abysmal refereeing and players holding their hands towards the heavens while spouting the word ‘puta’.
Such acts of spiritual devotion cannot be ignored.

  178. tsgh says:

Lol Barca… They have given Juve up until Wednesday to match our offer of ‘S’.

I thought it was first come, first served?

Cuadrado is moving to Barca for £18m…

  179. lee says:

So it seems Sanchez has seen the light and isn’t heading to the land of the shell suit and permed hair!?!?

  180. Adam says:

No doubt he will make several tearful returns when the documentaries on Hillsborough hit our screens.

  181. rico says:

    Daily Cannon:

Ahmed Fathi, the Egyptian international right back who currently plays for Al Ahly, is set to join Arsenal this week for a ten-day trial. The defender, who can play anywhere along the line and as a defensive midfielder, will travel to London according to his club’s football director, Alaa Abdel-Sadek. He said “Fathi is staying with us till the last game of the league and we will not let him travel to England before the match against Smouha. “Fathi did not ask to start his trial period at Arsenal before the matches against Zamalek or Petrojet. “We have not yet guaranteed winning the league title so that we can allow Fathi to travel to England. We have a decisive match against Smouha which will decide who wins the league.” If Arsenal are interested in bringing in the 29 year-old in addition to a deal being close for Newcastle’s Mathieu Debuchy it would bring up the possibility of Carl Jenkinson leaving on loan. With Jenks seen as the future for that position, another season of hardly playing is not really going to do much for his development as a player. Fathi spent six months on loan with Hull last season however they did not try and sign him permanently after just one start in seven appearances. This would be the player’s second trial with the Gunners having tried out for the side back in 2004 when he was just 20 before he joined Sheffield United. He has over 100 caps for Egypt and is out of contract this summer. Al Ahly’s game against Smouha will take place on Monday in what will be a title deciding game. Al Ahly need only a draw to secure the title on goal difference while Hamada Sedky’s men need to win outright if they are to finish the season as champions.

  182. tsgh says:

Hi Rico, not yet… it seems Barca need cash big time. They have a deal with Turan, Cuadrado on table like AW/AFC does with transfer targets but haven’t made final push…

I sense clubs are getting together to shaft us….

I am beginning to think Barca’s move for Cuadrado is only to force our hands with a higher offer…

  183. rico says:

    Hi Ts,

but if we are to believe reports in Spain, Barca have agreed a fee for AS. For sure they need to make a bit of money to get Suarez, so I’d have thought they’d want any deals done asap.

  184. tsgh says:

The good news is that the bin-dippers are officially out of the ‘S’ swap deal with Markovic signing…

2 horse race between us and that dubious ‘old lady in Turin’…

  185. tsgh says:

    Very true Rico…
Allegedly, we have only offered £20M cash down with the rerst in installments…

Barca are waiting to see how much more Juve are willing to pay up from… someone from Al Jazeera spot… the same source of Ozil to Arsenal.

  186. tsgh says:

Apparently the Barca hierachy have not all agreed on LS07 buying… several are against it and are waiting to clarify with FIFA to see how sanction can be manipulated as, they can’t make money of his signing if Jaws can’t do promotions etc

It could all fall to pieces with Liverpool buying more than they can spend.

Allegedly Pelle’ &RM are waiting to see what happens in BArca’s board room…

  187. rico says:

They must still owe us money for Song and the sale of Fabregas, so I’m not convinced by any of the figures quoted, I doubt anyone knows the truth… Outside the two clubs that is…

  188. lee says:

Generally by the law of averages Rico, all these fictitious i.t.k wankers will get one right!

  189. BrainwashedKev says:

    Morning All

    Morning Rico

An Egyptian international, who can play across the back-four and in midfield.
29 with 100+ caps for Egypt.

    The replacement for Vermaelen?
    On a Bosman…

    Classic Wenger.

    Straight out of Lidl’s….

  190. BrainwashedKev says:

Morning Lee, seems you was right about Sanchez then?!!!

I must confess, that I had my doubts, but Wath’s assertion of a unveiling along with Puma is gaining momentum…

  191. Scott From Oz says:

    Hiya Kev.
I heard Sanchez has had a medical, but a new injury had popped up from his ride to the airport……dodgy cabbie, apparently.
    Is he a nice guy 🙂 🙂

  192. tsgh says:

Mu understanding of the last financial report published and swiss Ramble past reports, Barca only owed us an extra £2.5m and that was only if Barca had won the UCL or La liga title…

  193. Mr Wath says:

Do you lot not listen….. Told you the other week they owe us approx €6million still for Song, Cesc was paid up

    Oh and morning…!

  194. Gene says:

Gudmorning all….if Sanchez is gonna come , then it is a big plus to the team and ma hopes are high that he will. Am jex looking foward to see that lad on a red shirt and white tug.

  195. tsgh says:

Morning Wath… you sound like you have a bad hang-over from the bootleg GG you have been feasting on… lol

  196. tsgh says:

Arsene: “World Cup years have always been very quiet until the end of the World Cup, with no players reachable.” lmfao

    you can’t make this up…

  197. tsgh says:

The same AW who went to South Africa 4 years ago without his blackberry phone… maybe he is unreachable not players. lol

  198. lee says:

I’m told they’ve still not fully paid the Fabregas monies….. cheque in the post! Bit like Stan when lemons get knocked out of the world cup!

  199. tsgh says:

All performance related Ric; some clauses include number of minutes a season he plays etc…

The murky world of contracts… the same as AW apparently not playing TR07 so he doesn’t get extra bonuses…

  200. tsgh says:

These days if a player wants to move he will do what it takes…

Herrera recently used his own money to help meet his buy out clause from the mighty Yanited…

Cesc paid nearly Euros8m of his own cash to leave us…

Balo’ took a paycut to join his childhood club…

  201. tsgh says:

Barca never finished paying us for Overmars/petit fees either several years ago… they never met the clauses that would have triggered those fees.

It could be worst we could be the sperds who are officially the feeder club for RM… lol

  202. rico says:

    Ts, who is Ric; 😉

I know there are other stipulations included in some contracts, but i’m talking about the £15 million transfer fee which they have yet to settle…

  203. Wavy says:

I’m sure barker are playing the Dutch auction game. They need a shed load of cash if they are going to buy vampira! Selling Cesc and one or two others will provide a little but the bulk has to come from a big sale… ‘s’ perhaps. The more they they can get the better! He has reportedly said he will not go to the dippers so the sale’ is on! The highest bidder will prevail! Will it be us? Fagin Wenger will not be held to ransom, eg Cahill and Bolton, so I reckon we can kiss the Chilean Bon voyage as he sails off to, well probably, Juventus!
It’s been fun discussing his ‘move’ now it’s time to move on. How about an Egyptian defender, for free! Much more Arsenal. You know where you are with ‘free’!
Morning all. He I’m wrong, but I’ll bet my porridge I’m not!

  204. Mo says:

“We know the World Cup has made things difficult to tie up targets that could of been involved due to the fact yes we can deal with the selling club and agents but hardly easy to then sit down with a player and thrash out a deal and do medicals etc etc….!”

    “Could of been” is wrong;

I believe the author’s intention was to say “could have” or “could’ve”.

This is common mistake by Britons…

Also, please care to punctuate and make sentences smaller. When it comes to online reading, it is better to make few lines for each paragraphs.

I am an Arsenal fan and quite enjoy reading all Arsenal related blogs. This is an attempt to help you impove and no way putting you down.

P.S English is my third langauge

    Mo.

  205. rico says:

Mo, this is a football blog, not a piece of writing for submission to the headmaster for review…

Thanks for your English lesson, but perhaps it would be more polite to stick to discussing football…

No badges supplied for English being your 3rd language…..
