Pat Rice to take over from Wenger….

Well he will for one game in the Champions League next season .  😛

So UEFA dished out a one match ban last night to both Samir Nasri and Arsene Wenger which will take effect in next seasons Champions League should we qualify.

Personally I believe the winner here is football, well, more like a bit of honesty in football. I am sure both Nasri and Wenger made their feelings about the van Persie sending off quite clear to the idiot Swiss ref on the night of the Barca game and I’m sure all that was said would not have been polite so UEFA had to ‘be seen’ to punish them. But, by only giving them a one match ban tells me that every man/woman on the disciplinary panel watched that game and agreed with Wenger, Nasri and everyone else, the ref naffed it up on the night.

Ok, we’ll miss Nasri but Wenger, I’m sure we will get by for one game…. I suggested yesterday that in all honesty, this will affect us about as much as a 10k fine would affect Man City..

Talking of Man City – sad to see them crash out of Europe last night, I’m sure I felt a tear in my eye, and then this morning I read that the Dippers crashed out too…… Sad night for English football eh 😉

Mad Jens has breezed in and woken Almunia up by telling him he wants the number one shirt, smart move Jens. I think he has little chance of getting it but if Almunia thought he was in for an easy ride over the next ten games, he’s wrong.
Remember when it was reported that Almunia had said this:

To have someone here who hates me is just amazing. I know he hates me.

Well, he’s here again Almunia and he want’s your job.

We have all seen the devastation in Japan which seem relentless – we were due to tour Japan in the summer but Wenger has suggested that this tour may not now go ahead:

It can affect our plans to go there. We were supposed to go to Japan, but I am personally not sure that will happen now.
We don’t know what we will do, we might go to a different country or we might even go to Japan for a charity game, we don’t know yet.

They have put the whole championship on old. The immensity of the disaster will be will so big that, knowing Japan, the whole country will be focused to get that right again and put money into that and rebuild.

I hope we get to Japan……..

That’s it for today, not a lot in the news I’m afraid…..

Morning Gooners, a charity game in Japan sounds good on many levels, not least PR, maybe we’d have Ryo in the team?

There are dozens of years that I say there are people in UEFA who want to buy a yacht at the expense of the Clubs…
3 Portuguese teams in the league europe! As always said, the group of Arsenal in the CL was complicated. Is to see where the Donets and Braga have content eliminated Celtic, Seville, Liverpool …
I think that game with the Albion is vital importance. The data has changed from one week ago Of the five that can win the League, Arsenal is the only one,who is engaged in the Championship. From my point of view, all others will be more focused on other competitions. If we comming off the barrier of 60 points with a game in hand, is almost starting to limit the title to two. Come a “stop” in the league and with the crucial month of April. But others, in addition to the league games are crucial decisions in other competitions. And MU is begin to join our “club” of the injured “out of sight”

  3. W.A.T.H says:

Bartley did ok Rico in the 2nd half Rangers went 4-4-2 and he was lots better and commanding than in a 5-4-1 but he do have a rather large rear end… looks to be carrying a bit to much weight but maybe his shorts were tight..? 😉

  4. rico says:

Hi kev, charity match would be good but a tour would be better, first time we have planned a ‘long distance’ one i think – i bet the whole of Japan were looking forward to it, lets hope everything soon settles for the people of Japan and we can still get there …

  5. rico says:

hi jj – i’m hoping jens presence keeps him on his toes and brings out the best in him…

    Madrid v Spuds

  6. T-buzz says:

    Morning y’all
Hope Spurs get Barca or Real Madrid.

Anyone see Balotelli’s sending off? I am so glad we dont have him in our squad, what a liabilty. He couldnt even manage putting on his training bib!!

  7. T-buzz says:

    Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ha ha ha!!!!!!

Excellent!! Come on Maureeen-hoe, knock those spurds back into the hole they crawled out from!!!

  8. W.A.T.H says:

Cheers Kev, Real will bury the yids from what I saw the other night. Chavs v mancs is a great draw for us though I said I wanted them to kick shit out of each other…. I like it 😉

  9. JonJon says:

the mancs have to play chavs three times now
that will take a load out of them..
if we dont capitalise on this and win the pl there is no hope for us

  10. JonJon says:

i may have read this wrong..
my maths is shit and this is why i need help
but the way i see it we owe more money now than what we did in 07..only its in bonds
    am i wrong??

  11. JonJon says:

    yeah
they play us and then week after they play chelsea
and they play chelsea in the cl before the fa cup

  12. Joaquim Moreira says:

No, Barca-Madrid maybe on the semi-finals, never in the final. Mu/Chelsea v. Inter/Schalke….
So, maybe chelsea or MU in wembley… :-((((

  13. JonJon says:

this is what i need clearing up rico..
i need it explaining in basic terms cos im confused
it looks to me that aloughh our net debt is down and the bank loan is zilch
everything has been transferred to bonds…
    which we still owe????

  14. rico says:

i can’t see that we would be able to do that jj, we either owe or we don’t – you are right, it’s confusing…

  15. Joaquim Moreira says:

    1) Porto – Spartak moscovo !!!! :-))
    2) Benfica – PSV
    3) VillaReal – Twente
    4) Braga – D.Kiev :-))

    Semi-finals: 1-3; 4-2
Arsenal official web site says Vela don’t play tomorrow…

  16. JonJon says:

lol i struggle with english wath..maths ive got no chance..
so we have been clearing the debts then and not just transferring the figures to make it look like we have??

  17. W.A.T.H says:

The one debt has indeed been totally cleared JJ, the bond is ring fenced and a set amount for yrs n yrs so not an issue at all, what the writer is saying is that yes we had plenty funds for players and do but we have spent a hell of a lot on 17 new and improved contracts…. That’s an argument all on its own as to if thats worth it or not along the lines of what we discussed yesterday but yes there are funds one debt paid and more funds will come in steadily but there is also money to spend but in theory not as much as ppl think as it was spent elsewhere with wages etc etc…!

  18. allezkev says:

Wath me o’ china, i haven’t been able to wipe this Cheshire cat grin off me mug since 11.14am. I just keep on larfing….

  19. allezkev says:

How is it the media/Press, don’t constantly drone on about the fact that Liverpool have won zilch in the last 6 years??? Hidden agenda maybe, or just that good old ‘Let’s all hate Arsenal’ they’re so adept at.

  20. W.A.T.H says:

The bond is over like 300 yrs AK so unless one of our directors would like to pay it off out of the generosity of his heart it’s a while, the thing is cos its a low interest bond its fixed adn doesnt impact with high rates if they climb and its also very manageable. We could in theory pay lumps of it off but why bother when 30mill would be better spent on a player or 3 than paying a lump of fthe bond to reduce its payment by maybe a million a yr..?

  21. rico says:

I have both WATH and still didn’t really get it, i blame jj, until he mentioned bonds i thought we were good in the finance department 😉 😉

  22. W.A.T.H says:

With a sensible hat on JJ i think it’s most definately money mis-spent….! No need what so ever to reward players for no reason, earn a raise fight for a rasie show improvement and hunger those are reasons. As we discussed the bosman doesnt make it easy but there are better ways than just thrusting huge long contracts in front of players that are yet to prove their worth.

  23. JonJon says:

    kev
its cos liverpool know they are not there and dont come out every year and say their team is ready
they also dont have a youth system so they dont leave them selves open to vultures
instead of ‘shame told you so you cant win anything the way you do it’… its ‘ok oh well at least you tried your shit but at least you know it and its funnier to take the piss out of wenger instead’

  24. JonJon says:

why have the bonds replaced the loans though
i would have thought that after 5 years of making 20-30mil profit the loan would be down anyway
it looks to me like weve just transferred all the loans into bonds which is about the same as the loan we had to begin with and that begs the question..
where have the profits been going…??

  25. W.A.T.H says:

The argument is all well and good from that article but is exposed slightly with what teh dippers did with the money from Torres, went and got 2 players for the outlay of only 6million sure the wages are slightly higher for two but 2 lots of shirts the club gets a lift so do the fans and maybe by winning something brings in extra revenue and sponsorship so you cant just judge on what a player costs and will cost for 5 yrs when you cant factor in what winning would bring in…!

  26. allezkev says:

Cheers JJ/Wath…. Now have a peek at our ‘Friend up North’s’ fixtures:

    Sat 2nd West Ham [a]
    Tues 5th Chelsea [a] CL
    Sat 9th Fulham [h]
    Tues 12th Chelsea [h] CL
    Sat 16th Man City FAC/SF
    Sat 23rd Everton [h]
    Sun 1st ARSENAL [a]
    Sat 7th Chelsea [h]

A few banana skins among that little lot, added to a lengthening injury list and a possible CL S/F to throw into the mix….

  27. W.A.T.H says:

No JJ they were 2 separate amounts and the loan was far more expensive and has been paid off…. there were two amount mate and both very different and seperate. Profits have gone on new contracts and are still in the bank…!

  28. JonJon says:

    another point from yesterday..
instead of keeping the deadwood and offering them contracts it would make more money if we signed a benzema or a hazard
shirt sales, merchandising around europe will go through the roof…
i dont see anyone walking round with a denilson shirt on…
they dont even know who denilson is in brazil cant imagine us being a merchandising monopoly over there..
as for the tours of austria?? yeah right that really helps..
we need to get ryo into this team and get over to japan for a month

  29. K-TR7 says:

Arry’s hotspuds have been given the easiest draw.with ballon d’Or holder bale in their ranks they shouldn’t find eliminating the 9 time champions a problem.

  30. JonJon says:

    im getting you now wath..
i still dont understand why we had no bonds in 07 and now we have a shit load but as long as thats separate and doesnt affect the team its all good..

  31. allezkev says:

Going back to what you told me Wath re: debt… Exactly how much of the cost of redeveloping Highbury and building the Grove, has club actually paid off??? Are we still in as much debt as we were, say 3 years ago. Because if we are, then that is just a monumental pile of bollox..

  32. JonJon says:

and they play chelsea right after
    harsh
come on utd beat chelsea in cl then come on chelsea beat utd in pl 😉

  33. W.A.T.H says:

Agreed JJ, our commercial dept is pretty crap but has been for many years now, we well behind a lot of other big teams.

Also agree with selling dead wood, incentive contracts and wages not just large for no reason and buy in players to win things and use commercially as we all know ppl love winners…!

  34. allezkev says:

Let’s not ignore the Mancs visit to Upton Park, always a tasty little encounter, come on you Irons.

  35. W.A.T.H says:

Oh nice, So we def want the mancs to win teh semi then but to sustain a few nice injuries along the way. Thanx for the dates KT.

AK looks like the stadium debt which was approx 36Omil now stands at 230mil plus we have about 30/40million to go back into the footballing revenue from outstanding sales of flats that we can spend on the footballing side. Thats as I understand it…!

  36. allezkev says:

So, as i gather from thosr figures Wath, AFC have paid off approx 130million in 5 years [am i right?]. Which at that rate means AFC will be, debt free in 2021???

  37. W.A.T.H says:

Ak, Gazidid in in charge of all the heads of department, head of commercial is I think the new bloke they brought in….! I think head of commercial is the yank they brought in, Tom someone…??

  38. JonJon says:

edelmann got fired for screwing up the stadium and shirt sponserships
we got robbed and make peanuts compared to other teams and we cant get out of it for 100mil years so he got the boot

  39. W.A.T.H says:

Thats it Tom Fox think his name is….! He’s head of commercial Dept but ultimately he answers to Gazidis Ak…..!

  40. JonJon says:

whoevers in charge now they aint doing much of a job either
we got this crack team of experts in to come up with all these ideas to gain revenue and the best they could come up with was to hike up ticket prices..

  41. K-TR7 says:

When madrid and barca win their respective games we’ll have 4 El Grand classicos to look forward to:2 CL semis,Copa de la rey final and a la liga clash at the Bernabeu…nice!

  42. W.A.T.H says:

Ak, the stadium debt is the one thats a bond, I could be very wrong here but I think its a 20yr bond, similar to a mortgage just with a set interest rate, they will not pay it off sooner as it has very little impact on the yearly repayments and as said extra money is then better put to players, as an example the mancs are paying +- 75million a yr on their depts we are paying approx 20million.

  43. W.A.T.H says:

JJ the stadium was 15 yrs and the shirt deal 10..? wasn’t it, they both not the same length am sure… or they could both ne 10….? I know it wasnt a good deal it should of been double what they got…!

  44. JonJon says:

yeah wath there was two separate deals rolled into one im not sure of the lengths i thought they were both the same.. but the same amount of 10mil.. i think we make 20mil a year from our shirt and stadium sponsers but emirates mugged us..
when u consider the dippers make more, the chavs and mancs make double that, a year on their sponsers its robbery..
but the at the time the club needed the money to help finance the stadium but instead of selling ourselves edelman took the first deal that came and we got stung..

  45. W.A.T.H says:

Spot on JJ, we could in theory buy out the shirt deal and get one for double the money which is what the chavs did with Samsung

  46. JonJon says:

my pal whos an accountant said we should have asked the RBS to sponser us and then we call it quits.. 😉

they dont give us anything for letting us put their name on our shirts and around the stadium and we dont give them anything for the loan..

  47. oliver says:

morning all…a bit depressing to see the cl q and s/f draws without the name arsenal coming out of the hat. hopefully we’ll be back in the latter stages next season…

  48. oliver says:

ten matches left, i just hope we can make it count and win the league. it is there for us, we just need to take it…

  49. s j little says:

The PR Dept is another failure as they seem unable to stop Mr Wenger insulting Arsenal fans. Fancy comparing his present outfit with these behind his successful years like seaman dixon keown adams winterburn bergkamp parlour all of whom he inherited and apart from Jens he has never found defenders as good since!

  50. W.A.T.H says:

Oliver, we’re about to find out how much the players really want it 2moro, it’s def there to be won it’s a matter of are we up to the task and never will it be more obvious thatn 2moro if we have the fight the commitment and mentality to go and win a game to get us back on track a little…!

  51. rico says:

tomorrow is massive, a win and the confidence can come back, anything else and it will just like we saw a few seasons ago…

its up to the players, we’ll soon see if they have any guts or not…..

  52. K-TR7 says:

    C’mon Adebayor.show the hotspuds who’s daddy…Benzema has a chance to become a gooner favourite.SMASH ‘EM!!!

  53. oliver says:

agreed, we blew this one in the group stages…many rightly point to our poor performance at braga, but i think we sowed the seeds of it in donestk – theo scored immediately and we should have built on in and put them away…that would have effectively clinched top spot, but we let shakhtar off the hook, they came back and beat us and we wound up needing a result (as of kickoff time) against partizan to qualify…

k, would you consider chelsea winning the european cup worse than the spuds becoming the first london club to do it? logic says mourinho is unlikely to lose to them, but who knows how these things turn out? as long as they (spuds) are in it, they have at least a chance…

  54. K-TR7 says:

Oliver stop scaring me!if the spuds win it they’ll forever rub it in.we’ve been in the CL for 14 years but done f*ck all;they win it in their 1st attempt?…HELL NO!

  55. rico says:

oliver, i think once we got the 9 points (could have been 12?), wenger relaxed too much and took it all for granted with the team selection, his approach carried on through the squad imho and they all relaxed a bit too much – each season we all say ‘secure top spot’ then rest players, yet again he didn’t and it came back to bite him on the bum….

  56. rico says:

Rotten for him WATH, Rangers still have a bit to play for, hope is scan tells different and he’s back in a couple of weeks…

  57. oliver says:

rico, i agree that we may have let our mental guard down a bit. i think the squad was a little too casual in donetsk. but i also thought they were tense and nervous in braga – arsene didn’t pick his strongest squad there – most likely intending to rest some players and get others some match practice…i suspect that he may have sent the players out to keep the ball and get the point we needed at the time. i thought we should have gone for it – braga are garbage in my humble opinion – but i think arsene wanted to try and get at least point with a weakened squad…it didn’t work out, but i can understand his possible line of thinking, even if it is not what i would have done…

  58. Will says:

    Hi guys.

Haven’t managed to read all the comments but has anyone commented on the fact that the chosen team have all but been given a bye to the next round?

  59. K-TR7 says:

We are really shit without theo.we miss his pace and the fear factor he carries.he is always double marked creating space for rvp/nasri/cesc.

  60. rico says:

I’m agreeing oliver, i think we won our first three or four then took the foot off, that was a big mistake by Wenger, but he/the team do appear to have a tendency to think a game is won before its even played…

Maybe if Wenger approached every game as if if was a title decider against say Chelsea, we would win more….

  61. JonJon says:

    gus cesar..lol..what a player..
hes right though kev arsenal need to set up in asia
    china hong kong japan
its where the cash is a few high profile games out there every pre season and revenue will increase more than raising season tickets will..

  62. allezkev says:

Yes Rico, he gave us all some worrying moments, not least the 1988 Littlewoods Cup Final.
Just seen some brief highlights of the Stiffs 2-1 win vs L’pool. Freeman got two cracking goals, hope he gets a loan next season, preferably to a better club than Yeovil.

  63. allezkev says:

Hi JJ, yes mate, that’s why a pre-season tour is so important and lucrative. Hopefully to Japan, but Hong Kong [ultimately China itself] and Malaysia as well.

  64. JonJon says:

it dont matter about the injuries tomorrow
if we cant take three points from that then somethings not right
ive got a feeling we are going to make hard work of it but ive also got a feeling bolton are going to do manutd tomorrow so its three points please lads..
    no denilson…..

  65. JonJon says:

    ktr
can you imagine if ryo got a work permit, we bought hazard and sold AA
can u imagine our widemen for the next decade??
    theo/nasri/eden/ryo..??

  66. rico says:

I think thats why we are due to go to Japan this summer, i’m surprised it has taken Wenger so long to have a pre-season in Japan bearing in mind his connections there… No other seems to worry about pre-season distance…

  67. allezkev says:

I wonder if playing away will help the team, the away support is always so good and nobody gives us a chance anyway? Arsenal tend to be at their best when everyone is writing them off.

  68. JonJon says:

i think we have the best away record all season..
which also helps when 6 of your 10 remaining games are away

  69. K-TR7 says:

I’ve maintained that all along.a direct winger and a pacy striker will complete our attacking department.

  70. JonJon says:

im not expecting anything either ktr
the seasons done as far as im concerned im just left clutching at straws and praying for a lot of luck..

if i keep believing we can do it il only be left heartbroken so im not doing it to myself..

  71. allezkev says:

I don’t blame you at all JJ, one game at a time and see where we are at the end of April. Better to be suprised in May than to have high expectations dashed.
What do you think the 18 will look like. Anyone think AW could be forced to have Miquel or Henderson on the bench?

  72. rico says:

jj, he was alright at the beginning of the season, if that form comes back, i’d be bloomin happy…

  73. JonJon says:

i think wenger will pull out rico
the board no it..hence the reason they are testing the water with club level tickets..
then in a few weeks they’ll raise them across all levels and hey presto..dont need to go to japan..
off to raise our profile in good old austria we go..

  74. JonJon says:

    will was right..
hes always been right but whilst the team was doing well i didnt want to admit it but we do need one..
    a good one

  75. Will says:

Yes I have Rico. The one thing we don’t have is a clinical striker.

As for the champions, it seems to me that Wengers excuse for Austria is utter tosh.

  76. rico says:

I know jj, but thats what happens – when we are scoring from midfield we were getting away with it but now those goals have dried up the reality is apart from Robin, none of our forwards are ‘doing it’….

If we had an out and out goal scorer things could be so different…

  77. allezkev says:

I think Will is absolutely right, we are screaming out for someone who can finish [and stay fit].

  78. Will says:

Kev, I have been saying it for ages. Chamakh is a shock troop and Nik B is shocking. We stick Vela on the wing and then complain when he doesn’t score and we sell Eduardo.

  79. K-TR7 says:

JJ the mancs mexican chick doesn’t do much.he can’t even dribble but when the crosses come in he taps them in.rvp has a unique combination of qualities but sometimes he lacks explosive pace resulting in him over-relying on nasri/theo.bendy/chamakh give us an aerial option.we need a 3rd option:raw pace and finishing.

  80. JonJon says:

i wouldnt mind but we dont even have any austrian players
    its just a bye preseason
go out there and tonk everyone 10-0 and create a false sence of winning mentality

if we bought hazard and felliani and took everyone to belguim along with tv i could understand it

not sure belguim has all that much cash but if everyone in belguim becomes and arsenal fan then we wont do too bad…as well as tonking everyone 10-0
    but fucking austria???

  81. K-TR7 says:

If we had the old eduardo at old trafford he would have scored a couple from the excellent crosses sagna put in.every time vds spilled a shot/cross he would’ve been there.

  82. Will says:

I agree JJ and the fact we win nothing while teas that go to Asia and America win everything shows up Wenger’s theory.

  83. JonJon says:

    ktr cos hes a finisher
    just a born finisher
he fits manus style cos they use the wings and bang it into the box and hes always there for the tap ins

whenever we use the wings and bang it into the box theres nobody there cos the player who should be tapping it is normally the one banging it in the box…

vela could do the same but its like will says we play him on the wing and expect him to get on the end of his own crosses…

  84. rico says:

But it’s still publicity in Asia jj, the only reason we will play only a charity match is if the country isn’t fortunate to be back on it’s feet – if it is, i have a sneaky feeling we will go there for our pre-season tour…

And play a charity match to raise money for Japan…

  85. K-TR7 says:

AK Eddy was sold because he lost 80% of movement in his ankle.as a result he lost pace and flexibility.he was also psychologically scarred as we saw him start pulling out of tackles.he couldn’t also play as a CF/WF in the 4-3-3.

  86. allezkev says:

JJ in the short term we won’t make any money. But can you imagine the Japanese if Arsenal turn up with Miyaichi in the squad! Half of Tokyo will be wearing Arsenal shirts.

  87. rico says:

Kev, we sold Eduardo for the sake of Eduardo’s career – Wenger hoped he would return to his old self but it was clear he never would in the PL, it’s too dirty with little protection…

  88. allezkev says:

Yeah KT, your right, it’s just such a bloody shame, how i hate Birmingham, the town and it’s poxy football[?] teams.

  89. allezkev says:

Rico… no… you got it all wrong. Shawcross and co are all ‘good honest lads’….. bullshit

  90. K-TR7 says:

JJ i hope vela develops that toughness at w.brom.when he lead the line at the spuds in the CC he was invinsible.i believe he can play CF if he just had more belief in his ability.he has wicked ball control and dribbling.maybe Aw is thinking like we are and is banking on vela instead of buying a CF to play 2nd fiddle to rvp?…

  91. JonJon says:

rico we need to be raising money for arsenal 😉
japan aint skint they can afford their own relief..
its not like pakistan or hiaiti…its japan…

    exactley kev
but if we play arranged friendlies in places like tokyo then we get half the gates as well
and you know what the japanese are like they’ll have ryo action figures and lot 😉

  92. K-TR7 says:

Come to think of it vela may be the solution.we just have to tweak tactics a little bit to accumulate him.if anyone doubts vela’s talent just watch his perfomances in the CC in 08-09.he looked like messi at times.we just have to rebuild his confidence.

  93. JonJon says:

i can see the range now
mad jens lehmann action figure comes complete with kung fu grip to wrap round denilsons throat..

  94. Will says:

This might not make sense but at the moment, for the front three we play so the one sets up the two, if we have Vela, we would have to play the two setting up the one.

  95. JonJon says:

    they’d go nuts..

ambulances will be named after tomas rosicky

the abou diaby first aid kit…

we’d fill the pages of argos with arsenal merchandise..

even get the boys to record a pop song….

Haha JJ and the Wenger version with a blindfold on. But also the speaking version ” I did not see it” or “Footballistically” or even “Denilson, my long lost son”

  97. JonJon says:

the nikki b chewing gum collection…

japans really there for the taking i dont know whats taken us so long 😉

  98. JonJon says:

they could get denilson to be the next karate kid

could just imagine mr myaghi saying those famous words..

wax on wax off daniel son…

  99. K-TR7 says:

They’ll even make dolls of denilson’s head bobbing celebration to be put on dashboards of taxis…

  100. rico says:

he was on the panel, the quiz show A League of Their Own, James Corden hosts it, its very funny….

Clichy is a really nice, funny funny guy…

  101. JonJon says:

    ktr is that really true
is that the show with jamie redknapp rico??

i dont watch it but clichy is supposed to be a bit of a ladies man..

  102. K-TR7 says:

Its true.fans even die when Arsenal lose.Kenya’s prime minister is a massive Arsenal fan;in most of his political speeches that i’ve heard/read he barely fails to mention fabrègas.trust me Arsenal is huge there.

  103. allezkev says:

Well i only got it in the first place for the football. But it grew and grew, sky sports 3, sky sports extra etc, they just got too greedy Rico, so now i watch games on-line. It’s a shame as i miss the cricket and Football First highlights, but there ya go.

  104. allezkev says:

KT, wonder why that is, you kinda expect to see people in African countries wearing Manc/Chav shirts, Scousers even, but Arse? Do you have any idea why that is??

  105. K-TR7 says:

Who would want to don the shirt of a granny shagger or a wife cheating bastard with one of his own teammates?…

  106. Arsenalisto says:

Pat Rice will most likely retire at the end of this season according to reports from earlier this season lol

  107. rico says:

Arsenalisto, I’ll believe that when i see it 😉

kev, i know what you mean re sky, its crazy, i sometimes think is it worth it….

    Thierry Henry.

  109. allezkev says:

KT, i wouldn’t bet against Moaninho doing it again with Real Madrid. Knocking out the Scummers, then Barca and finally stuffing ‘Red Nose’ in the final. I’d drink to that.

  110. K-TR7 says:

True Will.i read somewhere that 76% of Eastern Africa is Arsenal and most of those fans started supporting us due to him.

  111. K-TR7 says:

AK I don’t think Mourinho has the players to shut out barca.if he tries to attack them they’ll be vulnerable.i may be wrong but it will be interesting to see his tactics to prevent another 5nil tonking.

  112. K-TR7 says:

Nwankwo Kanu was also an icon in Africa.even most recently Adebayor and Toure.the mancs have no Africans at all.even Essien himself was pictured in an Arsenal shirt in Ghana.Drogba was an Arsenal fan when growing up.

  113. allezkev says:

Yeah KT, i know what you mean, but i reckon, since that 5-0 that he’s been working out some system to tie Barca up in knots. If anyone can stuff Barca then he can.

  114. K-TR7 says:

Also most of our frenchmen have African links:vieira with senegal, nasri with Algeria even the likes of Sagna have roots in Africa.

  115. K-TR7 says:

AK im sure he’ll watch our recent CL games with them.we lost 4-3 and we were very close to knocking them out.we like them are not Inter and am sure he’ll be looking to improve on what we failed to do at the Camp nou.

  116. K-TR7 says:

Its hard to believe that we had the chance to sign Drogba for £100000 pounds!…but we had henry, bergkamp, rvp and reyes so i see why we passed up that opportunity.

  117. rico says:

Guys, I’m heading off for the day – enjoy the rest of your day and catch up tomorrow…

    Be good….

  118. allezkev says:

    See ya tomorrow Rico.
Yeah i’ve heard that before KT, but 100 Grand… Even being wise after the event, why didn’t they take a punt? Could it have been something to do with a work permit… Didn’t AFC miss out on Edmilson for that reason?

  119. allezkev says:

Just read that Kyle Bartley is out for 6 weeks. There must be some kind of a curse on Arsenal…

  120. allezkev says:

KT, your not very impressed with the linkage to Mario Gavranovic? What do you know about him mate??
