Olivier Giroud stands no chance. Players dropping like flies….

Morning all..

Day two of the boring break, however, there is a bit of Arsenal news….

Olivier Giroud has been nominated for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award for March.

Our big Frenchman has had a pretty good time recently hasn’t he, scoring six goals in the same amount of matches, including a goal and an assist against West Ham United as well as nabbing both goals against Newcastle United at the weekend..

The nomination is great for Ollie and in my opinion, thoroughly deserved but he’s up against stiff competition for the award.

Harry Kane
Eden Hazard
Jordan Henderson
Marouane Fellaini

For me there’s only one winner and that’s our man, mind you where’s Francis Coquelin? I’d bet my last pound that the latest English golden boy will pick up the award….

Staying with Ollie, he’s been subjected to quite a lot of criticism since he arrived at Arsenal. He’s slow, cumbersome, enjoys a bit of off field naughtiness and his thumb sucking celebration together with his little quif have annoyed many. Certainly me….

But right now the one thing we can say is he knows where the back of the net is and a few of his recent goals have clearly shown how good he can finish. His goal against Monaco was superb….

Ollie may divide fans, but he’s an Arsenal player for a while yet I think, and if carries on in the same fashion as he is now, then good because we need his goals.

As usual when the International fixtures take over, clubs around us announce injuries, most no doubt are just a way of giving their players a bit of rest and Liverpool seem to be the latest to catch on. Mignolet needs a scan on his ankle before joining up with the Belgium side. Lallana and Sturridge have both been definitely ruled out for England and Sterling is rumoured to have a sore toe and could join them. Dejan Lovren will miss Croatia’s game with Norway on Saturday too after suffering a recurrence of an abdominal injury. How handy eh…

But I bet all are miraculously fit and healthy a week on Saturday….

Meanwhile, most of our squad will be off playing for their country but at least Per Mertesacker and Francis Coquelin will get a rest and our injured have two more weeks to recover…

That’s it for Tuesday, have a good day all…

Morning all.
Coquelin would most definitely have been worth of mention, but at least one of our lads made the grade.

Good morning to the HHers, Salute to the lady of the house.
been quiet for long but I still get time to the daily read of the only genuine Gooner site.
still happy i can be part of this wonderful group of supporters for the mighty Arsenal.
the more le Coq stays away from the media mentions, to me, the better for we need him to continue doing what he is doing… we can not give the media another candidate for the hate campaign.. Up gunners

Was Arsen Wenger nominated for Manager of the month as well. I’m guessing he should considering we won all games in February

I have long felt that players that withdraw from their internationals should have to miss their team’s next match. I think it was suggested some time ago but certain clubs were against it.

television , laptop, tablets, more television , walking on crutches , watching my wife doing all the heavy work , feeling guilty about that and then hopefully some sleep. Hospital said about 6 weeks of this . I will owe her big time.

Haha rico, even his quiff looks good these days.

My only gripe, for such a big fella I wish he’d throw his weight around a bit more.

Another 20+ goals this season will see us secure top 3 !

Potter, never forget what you pledged each other when you married, “for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness or in health…….” Sometimes you just have to call these vows in! As Rico said, six weeks will pass in trance and you’ll be like a sprinter on those crutches by the time you’ve done!
Good luck with all that and let’s hope the Arsenal results, during your period of incapacitation bring us all, joy! And after too!
Nice one Rico, I missed the award for Ollie stuff, well his pick at least. Nice to know someone’ sip with what’s going on.

It seems, according to Nigel Winterburn, that Arsene Wenger and Theo Walcott had a big bust up recently, on the training ground…

Now obviously, there are disagreements and rows at all football clubs between players and between players and coaching staff, it’s normal…

But maybe this one points to the increasing tension between Theo and his manager…?

Wenger has yet to ostracise Walcott yet, a la Kanu, Wiltord and a few others. But it kinda points towards a reduction in the bargaining power of the ‘Embassy’…

And good job too!

Arsenal handed triple fitness boost as Jack Wilshere, Mathieu Debuchy and Mikel Arteta look set to face Liverpool….

The headline in the Daily Mail…

I hope it’s true, but it was written by Sami Mokbel, and he is famous for writing complete tripe…

Sterling out of the England game as well…..hope all these wankers miss our game with them!
So Cech is for sale for £10m but ONLY to foreign teams…..

allezkev
allezkev

There’s no chance of Cech moving to Arsenal, forget it…

For £10 million there has to be some really top top goalkeepers around Europe, who are better than what we have…

Lehmann at £1.5m was the most AW had spent signing a goalkeeper before he signed Ospina (I think?)…

He’s a total skinflint when it comes to that position, it seems…

Morning All

Walcott n Welbeck in the England squad…

That’s no problem.

Theo needs games.

Danny needs goals.

I don’t care what Liverpool do, we’re better than them and ought to show it on the 4th April…

I agree with Rico, I can’t think of any keepers for that dough BUT as Kev said there’s no way he’ll be playing for us, so might as well forget that!
