Chelsea V Liverpool in todays FA Cup, 6th V 8th place in the Premier League but would you rather be at Wembley watching us play in the FA Cup Final, with us sitting in either of those positions in the league?

Or, would you rather be sat waiting for 12.45 UK time to arrive, knowing that a win will get us three points and with it, a big toe in the cement to secure us that 3rd place spot?

As much as I’d love us to be Wembley, I’d hate for us to be in Liverpool’s position in the league but Chelsea, well, it could still go either way for them – they could win the Champions League to secure their status in the competion next season, but they could very well lose that final and finish exactly where they are now.

That of course would mean that both of todays finalist at Wembley could be playing on Thursday nights next season….

Would you really want that?

Anyway, only one fixture involving a Premier League side matters today and that’s ours against Norwich at The Emirates…

Norwich

  • Norwich have lost their last three Premier League matches, their worst run of defeats since their return to the top flight.
  • The Canaries have conceded nine goals since they last scored. They haven’t scored in their last two matches – they haven’t gone three without a goal so far this season.
  • Norwich have kept just two clean sheets in this season’s league, fewer than any other side in the top flight.
  • Grant Holt has scored 13 Premier League goals this season, the most for an uncapped Englishman.

Norwich left-back Adam Drury is a doubt while defenders Zak Whitbread, Marc Tierney and Daniel Ayala are all ruled out of the season.

Captain Grant Holt and striker Simeon Jackson are pressing for a recall as the Canaries look to halt a run of three straight defeats.

Arsenal, well we don’t need stats or injury updates as we all know who is missing or not and yes, Diaby is out today and next weekend, sums up his season doesn’t it.

Ninety minutes, just ninety minutes to play having rested for the last week.

Surely this Arsenal team selected today can give their all for that short period of time?

Start the game as we mean to go on and fight for the right to retain our current third spot and fight for each other from the off.

No excuses about fatigue, none about the pitch, none about lacking ideas – we don’t want that and we don’t need to hear it afterwards.

We are Arsenal, we are at home and we should be beating Norwich!!

I hope Arsene Wenger and his players make sure we do…..

Finally, this could the last home fixture that we see Pat Rice sitting alongside Arsene Wenger, doesn’t he deserved to leave his seat on winning ways?

Let’s hope it’s a great day……
