The Arsenal faithful are desperate for some good news, Good news being that we have signed a couple of quality players to help us get into the top 3/4 places in the League.
It seems to me that we are scraping the barrel when other teams sign a player that was mentioned in the same sentence as us we’re all moaning about losing out on them.
Wanting quality players is one thing being desperate enough to want anyone is ridiculous. Is this what it has come to that we are clamoring for players that are signing for any old team in the League, we the fans, just like we ask of the Board need to set our sights higher. We want the club and the Board to buy quality so lets not get carried away when Joe Soap signs for whoever…! Perspective on why these players are not being signed by bigger clubs not just us?
Arsene might be right, we cannot expect Arsenal to go out and buy new players every time we have a bad result, We’d have an extra 15 players by now if that was the case. Yes for sure we all need a big lift, the fans and the team. We need signings that can go straight into the team and add quality and make a difference. The finished article, players possibly with premier league experience or seasoned internationals. Arsene has 9 days to go, he has to get moving, or whoever is responsible for negotiations when money and contracts are being discussed. Arsene needs to concentrate on the team others who get paid to do so need to tie up the transfers.
The Walcott Saga cannot be used as an excuse for inertia anymore. For as welcome as Theo’s signing was, his signing doesn’t strengthen the squad. The squad remains as it was when we kicked off at Stoke RFU last August.
I’m not of the opinion that Arsene needs to buy 5 or 6 new players, he has never done that so we can’t expect him to do that now but we are also not that desperate either but he/we need probably two quality players who are winners fighters and bring a good mentality to the team/squad. Players who aren’t satisfied with their team mates doing just enough, but who want to see their team mates go above and beyond their best, game after game.
The kind of players that Arsene had many of, during his successful period. In his press conference yesterday he said we are looking to bring in two, lets hope so.
Being able to retain the British core of his squad was a great start to creating a squad that can once again seriously compete for honours.
So much of Wenger’s time and energy though has been wasted on too many players over the last six years, players who have not been worthy of an Arsenal shirt.
Only now can i see an improvement, both in terms of quality and character.
The question is, will Arsene be around to enjoy the fruits of his hard work with the currant talented youngsters?
I have my doubts…..
Enough of the future, Wenger and the Club need to do some serious transfer work for the present.
The EPL is gone, The Champions League is a fantasy, The League Cup is gone, Top-Four is a long long shot, very doubtful but not impossible…
We need to start by showing some intent tonight. The players have apparently had a big meeting with Arsene and he has told them yet again they must show belief in their talents and to show how good they are. Morale is low apparently, well stop sulking and earn your wages. I hope Arsene didn’t pamper them and actually told them they are letting him and themselves down. I few home truths should be told….. We also need to play for the full 90 mins not just one half of a football match.
We need to show the right attitude, roll our sleeves up get stuck in and then show we can compete with any team before playing our own game. We need the points tonight but we also need to show determination and the passion that has so been lacking of late. Lets get at West Ham and show Fat Sam we not a push over, we won’t let his team kick us off the park or get in our faces we will give as good as we get and more. Get the fans behind the team, show the effort and that will give the fans something to cheer about, one feeds off the other. We’re getting close to the point of no return, The team needs to show us what they are really made of and win tonight and push on from that over the next few months.
2005 was Arsenal’s last trophy. It’s been a long frustrating drought since that FA Cup success. If we can show the right attitude on the pitch we can make 3rd or 4th spot and maybe we can do well in the FA Cup. It would give everyone the boost we need and end the drought which would maybe prove to the team they are a good side and can win things when they work as a unit and as a team, Bradford showed them that last night and throughout all the games they have played in the CC games.
It would be fitting if Wenger was to finally to end his trophyless torment by lifting that famous old cup?
Have a good day and here’s to a good win tonight
Written by AllezKev.
Morning All,
Nice one AK…… Here’s to a win tonight and for the players to show they really do care..!
Top post Kev, just brilliant.
Morning all.
Evening Scott…!
Great post AK!
Enjoyed it a lot.
COYGS!
G’day Wath.
How is the feeling over there….confident of a win??
Nice post Kev – I think part of the frustration with the transfer window is, it has obviously been open for 23 days and in that time we have played 3 league games and taken just 1 point. You would also like to think that when the transfer window does open, it doesnt come as a complete surprise to anyone, so work and prepartion on deals should be going on way before the lead up to that window, and it didnt seem to take too long to get a couple out of the door. I know, I know apparently its not that straight forward and all deals have their individual complexities etc. But has our dithering, for whatever reason, actually ended up costing us points? 1 from 9 feels like it.
I think in general Scott most fans are not confident in any game at the moment as you just never know what your gonna get from The Arsenal at the moment…! We just never know what team will turn up…!
Ryan, does the club dither…? Are our scouts doing a good job, are the club negotiators stuffing up…? Are we not prepared to spend..? Are the board backing the signings that we have identified with the right funds…? Are we even looking…?
So many things can go wrong and could be the problem we just don’t know.
Good post AK, pondering over transfers with 8 days of the transfer window left…hmmm! It’ll be AW trying to pick up a last minute bargain. Why don’t we act like one of the richest football clubs on the planet?
This is the transfer window where our immediate requirements re most blatantly obvious, imo.
A DM and striker…….some would like a new keeper and defender brought in, but really, the DM and striker are the most important.
The days are counting down, and if we do not fill these positions, then we may as well wipe this season away.
That’s why we so rich Lee…………… We as tight as a ducks arse and ALWAYS looking for bargain basement buys…!
I have always maintained that history ALWAYS repeats itself.

It’s scary…..
That year we qualified for the UEFA Cup – a 2-1 home win v’s Bolton in the final game – goals from Platt and Bergkamp secured that.
Rioch was sacked a few days into the season after and Rice was made caretaker manager as we were waiting on Wenger. We immediately signed Patrick Viera.
That was the catalyst for our 1998-2005 success. An aggressive box to box midfielder, who would become a 107 cap international within the side that won the World Cup and Euro Nations Cup.
At the moment we need that catalyst. It is just a piece of the jigsaw ….
Abou Diaby or Coquelin is NOT the answer, nor is Diame…
Who is your pick, SYG??
The problem we as fans are concerned is we don’t actually know whose responsibility it is to crack the whip and make things happen. We suspect that Wenger is unaccountable but that is the remit of the board to make sure of what he is doing. We know that Kroenke hardly ever comes to London , so who is putting pressure on the board to make sure that things are progressing ? We don’t actually know what percentage of these peoples lives are actually devoted to The Arsenal ? PHW is just a figurehead some say , so if the chairman isn’t forcing things how do we suspect that things are happening? Too many questions of a tired old group whose motto certainly seems like
” Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow.”
WATH, you are right, we don’t know and I certainly don’t claim to know. What I do know is as Scott has said our requirements are obvious, especially in the DM role, after all we sold Alex Song and didn’t replace. What we also know is the window has been open since the 1st and didn’t open as a shock or surprise to anyone. We have seen some of our rivals make signings who have had impact and hit the ground running and we haven’t won a league match in 2013 so far, though hopefully that will change tonight. Like I say no idea what the reasons for this situation are, but whatever they are they just CAN’T be good enough reasons.
Morning all. Kev. That was a very good post and I cannot help but notice how much your feelings on Arsenal have changed since we first met and you tried the old “fiver on the floor” trick with that attractive young lady. 🙂
Hiya Scott – I don’t get paid £7M a year to condescend to journalists … and I have never had more than half a day in premiership management….
It looks that he is going for Yohann Gourcuff, who is possibly one of the best players in France… He’s the right age, the right size … Whether he’s the right player is debatable …. But at least it looks like we are trying….
Wenger likes to sign players who play “in the hole” or “on the wing” …. Maybe Capoue would compliment this “signing” and fill the hole that is our midfield as Coquelin, Frimpong and of course Diaby is a joke …
Good points Potter, we also have a CEO who is clearly bonussed in an incorrect manner.
SYG. From what little I know, Gourcuff is an immensely talented, injury-prone underachiever of notable proportions. Sounds perfect as he’s cheap because of all the above.
Morning All,
Great Lifting Post Sir AK, Thats more like it, should bring out the best of this team. I hope Wengers chat was as inspiring. I have come to the conclusion that new players are not high on Wengers list to do first. He is sticking to his views that we have a strong team, now he just needs to get them motivated. Wenger may believe that and if they start winning and carry on winning till the end of the season, i will hold my hands up and say the man was right,How can i say anything else when a manager has got us in the champions league won us the FA cup and Champions league beaten Man City Man Utd and the Scum, that would be some acheivment eh. But to come back to reality we just have to get past West Ham first should be a doddle eh. why do i get the feeling many are not sure.
SYG,
Gourcuff could be sensational, and if it doesn’t work out, at least he won’t cost the earth.
Capoue seems to have pretty much unanimous support here as an ideal player to bring in…..fingers crossed!?
Adam re your 10.33 – you could easily substitute the name Gourcuff with Rosicky there.
Morning all! Great read Kev.
Ryan, I think if nothing happens then whoever is responsible will feel the heat one way or another. We have highly paid execs who do very little and earn massive salaries. Everything is out of proportion for what is done at the club and Potter has touched on that as well but it still doesn’t resolve the issues of what’s needed to get this team back to winning ways and winning points.
Scott – He DOES have unanimous support here…. And I bet that only a handful of us have ever seen him play (Other that Youtube, which can make me look amazing, given the time and editing).
Rocky, what else can we go by???
Most on here would have been an advocate at some stage for a player they haven’t seen.
Would you be happy if we got him or would you prefer someone else?
Is the Celtic kid as good as plenty suggest?
Rocky. You are correct of course.
Do I not remember saying, after one of our recent pathetic surrenders that he was aiming to strengthen “in every area”? And what about his symbolic chequebook waving when he expected to have a “very busy” January? I bet he wasn’t thinking most of it would be spent playing mind games with journos or giving team pep talks.
The word disingenuous keeps rolling across my mind when I hear yet another Wengerism.
Morning Adam, I think the time has come for us to see Wenger actions not hear Wenger words….! He must be aware of the frustrations of the fans and he will know exactly who is to blame for whats going on….! Time to make it right.
On paper our first 15 are as good as anyone’s however we have similar players playing across the midfield along with a right back who was once one of the best in European football and a left back who it appears continually loses concentration.
That is our current problem. Definitely rectifiable
The midfield needs modifying and fckng Diaby isn’t part of that modification – He is the core of the problem. He is what is making Wenger NOT invest. Coquelin will never make it as a top player and Frimpong showed how much he rates himself when he opted to play for Ghana instead of England.
Sagna is/was an exceptional player. It would be nice if he came back to being just that.
Gibbs could be as good as Ashley Cole but I doubt it. He is very similar, however he needs to take the chip off his shoulder and buckle down to basics.
Gibbs along with Almunia bollocksed up our Champs League Semi-Final v’s Man Utd. Maybe he SHOULD think back to how Robin VPersie gave him a “shoulder to cry on”, when he was screaming in the face of Giroud during the Liverpool match for not laying a ball off… That tells you something about a player…..
The only transfer that’s looked attractive to me this January involves a swap of Wenger for Ancelotti.
At present Arsenal have four strikers – Giroud, Chamakh, Park and Bendtner. I think that at any other club in the world this would demonstrate that the manager has lost his way and needs replacing.
Syg, we seem to have plenty of players bitching at each other of late.
Frustration has well and truly set in.
Why not buy a player that seldom gets injured…just a thought.
Steve. You are forgetting Gervinho and the other three are out on loan. Doesn’t change the point though I admit.
Steve, isn’t Theo number 5 🙂
Because they cost more Lee lol.
Lee. That would be nice wouldn’t it?
I think if you are calling Theo and Gerviho ‘strikers’, it only re-enforces my point.
Hence the smile, Steve!!
Theo rates himself though….
Steve. Isn’t Theo our leading scorer this season? I think that, apart from being a rather fine slapstick performer, the jury is out when it comes to describing Gervinho.
But your point that Arsenal have appalling strikers for a supposedly top club is absolutely spot on.
Enjoyed this splendid post, AK
Fortunately it’s not only Arsenal with problems. It will be interesting to see if Diame plays this evening – according to reports he’s throwing a strop at West Ham over his release clause.
Our trouble is we have a few who should be coming off the bench under the right circumstances, but we do not have a top class one.
When was the last time we had one again???
Apparently Diame is threatening to report WHU to FA as they seem reluctant to honour the release clause.
Why keep a player who wants out?
I say the same about our guys who make waves.
True Scott, but people are REALLY going on about him, just on someone elses heresay. Don’t see the point of that. It’s a typical Arsenal fan reaction. Band-wagon jumping, in a hope that the player turns out to be good. I made that mistake with Gerv. I believed the hype, and started banfing on about how great he was before I’d even seen him play!
As for Wanyama – I’ve seen him play maybe 10 or so matches. He looks solid. I’ve seen him have a stinker, but generally looks like the sort of player me need. Kind of like a grown-up Frimpong.
So we may or may not be the English club who have made a late bid to hijack M’Villas move to Russia.
We also may or may not be making a bit for Wanyama, and we may or may not be placing a last day bid for Villa.
We may or may not actually make a signing.
It occurs to me that by the time Theo reaches 26 Arsenal Football Club will have invested approximately £45m in him. Does anyone know if he will be a world class striker at 26 ? How does that compare with going out and buying a 26 year old Suarez or Aquerro ?
Lee – Give a player who has never been injured in his life to Wenger. I guarantee you he will play him into the ground until he totally breaks down and is a perma-crock.
Fair enough Rocky.
I admit i see very little football other than Arsenal games.
It’s hard enough getting up to watch them.
Gervinho scored goals in France that no player without a lot of ability could score, he just seems so reluctant to pull the trigger in the PL.
The ability is there, but who knows if it will ever show up.
Exactly Scott! And I think we know which it will be! My hunch is “we will not”!
No probs Scott. It wasn’t a dig by the way…. It’s just a measure of how desperate we all are to sign someone…. Anyone… that may give us a boost!
It still amazes me that Hazard rated Gerv so highly. What happened to him on the flight from France to London on the day he signed? It’s like the confidence must have just been sapped out of him
Expect fuck all signings is the best policy…
Rocky. I think that when Hazzard said that he was taking the piss.
He must have been, Adam. There is no other plausable explanation.
Rocky, i really thought Gervinho was intimidated playing alongside RVP last season….he always seemed to want to offload.
This season, he proved me wrong, because he is just intimidated by playing in the PL….the occasion seems to get to him.
The reason so many of our better players break down is because we must play them due to a lack of alternatives.
The club is an a bad situation, but with some tweaks, could be great again quite quickly.
Tweaks can be substituted by bucks, pounds, euros or cash!!
what business continues to sell its finest assets and moves forward? and there by lies the tale that is Arsene (i will show everyone is wrong) Wenger
Come on Oz, we Aussies are supposed to be happy chappies….you’re letting us down mate 🙂
Hi Oz. The more I think about it and the more I read about Kroenke and of course the more I see Wenger and watch his team play, the deeper the shit I think we might be wading into.
Projecting various scenarios into the future I would be more than happy to hear from any folk here how they see things panning out that are remotely positive.
No you don’t Adam 🙂
Stan…..that is what stands between Arsenal having a positive future.
Adam if you want positive get an electric shock………….!
Or See Scott…..! He’ll come up with something for you even though he knows he’s wrong… 😉
That would be a good start Scott but still think he not the only problem.
As always Wath, as always lol.
Morning Gooners…
Morning Wath, that was one hell of a sub-edit….
Just shows what ‘you’ can contribute eh? 😉
Ah the old fiver on the floor trick Adam. it never fails….
Cheers everyone for the positive vibe….
Tbh i have noticed, in general, how the majority view has changed on here over the past 3 years i’ve been on here.
Frustratration at Wenger’s procrastinaion has driven many of us to the edge of despair as the club stagnates.
That frustration borne out of the fact the club/team isn’t ‘that’ far from success…
All we need is for someone at The Grove to grasp the nettle..
.
That is, spend some bloody money on the kind of quality that can go straight into the team and made an immediate improvement…
The million euro question is, do those at the helm of the club have the balls to spend some serious money…???
And that i doubt…
Not whilst we have that useless pile of American dung owning our club..
Wath, Wenger may well be a massive part……process of elimination though.
Wenger was present at the Kroneke meetings early on remember Scott – do you think he told him “my mess ups are going to cost you big time”? No, i say again they have manoeuvred a nice soft bed for themselves and are hanging on to it regardless
Hi all,
Good, level headed post Kev, nicely done.
I heard we’re trying to activate Reus’ buyout clause in his contract. Any one know anything about it or pure bollocks?
Useless pile of Amercian dung….classic Kev!!
Nothing to do with me Kev 😉
Scott, a massive elimination if we can get rid of the syrup for sure…! I’d agree Stan, then the board then wenger if he doesn’t change under a new owner then we would all know…!
Bradster, i read Wenger has been in Germany in the last day or two, but what do we believe??
That is not happy, Oz!!
Wath, that is all i have ever said.
I can’t guarantee Wenger is not part of the problem, he may well be a huge one, but nobody can be sure he is, either.
One way to find out……..
Oh, and i am talking OFF the field there.
We know he is making plenty of mistakes with the onfield stuff.
Wath. The fans could have a big say in the future. I can’t see many alternatives to that, apart from this creeping apathy that is taking over.
it boggles my mind people actually believe Wenger is battling against the board and is anything else than completely in bed with them. “i make the decisions” “i decide the transfers and targets” “i decide the wages” We know whats in the trading accounts, we have watched Wenger and his mate wages explode and we still question he’s battling them????
Oz, i will think for myself mate, and do not need to be told what is going on by someone as far removed from the club as myself, so enough.
Disagree…fine…no need for that though!
Morning all,
A top top post Mr Kev…
Just a little correction on AW not buying 5 or 6 players ever…. In 2001/2002 season we lost 10 squad players (Slyvinho, Pennant etc)after PV released his infamous letter dissing Arsenal for not buying from ‘Harrods’ in response to DD and AW telling him we had £25M to spend after selling Overmars and Petite for over £42M… Does that sound familiar?
During that season we bought 11 players including free agent Sol and the fox in the box Jeffers. AW then added Efstathios Tavlaridis and Inamoto just to balance the equation of bringing in world class Sol Campbell…
Exactly my reason why I ask why fans think AW is the reason why we are not making marquees signing. 😉 This last bit is for you Scott so stop moaning.. 😀
i was talking in general there Scott not firing off at you personally as you should well know
The Curry Club will re-convene on the 31st of this month, to celebrate Arsene’s stunning new signing’s….
Chairman Lee will lead the toast’s as he rejoices in the form shown by ‘Forehead’ for the Cote d’Ivoire…..
Secretary Adam will regale us with his admiration of Squillster and his entry into the Grand National…
Rocky will cheer us with his memories of the cheery conversation’s he has on his way home with a train-full of Spuds… Such joy…
Meanwhile i shall just sit, listen and marvel at those raconteur’s..
Ts I think the post means 5/6 quality players not 10 kids or unknowns and a free Sol Campbell. 5/6 quality players he has never done and never will do.
Oz, most of what you wrote is spot on and I think he is complicit as well it’s why I say he is a hypocrite BUT if a new owner came in would he spend and bring in quality or still be so stubborn is what we don’t know.
Lol Ginge.
Scott – just to confirm it was a follow on from Adam’s remark about the fans changing things mate –
Twitter rumours are Diaby injured again…….! Least he’ll be like a new signing in July…!
Bradster, Reus would a fcuking brilliant signing, but it should have happened last summer…
But don’t worry, Tom Fox is ‘on it’…
Ok Oz, but you did describe me and my line of thinking, and straight after my comment, so i hope you can understand my reaction.
All good….
I don’t pretend to know what is going on, but that is why i keep an open mind about it.
I may well, and probably will, be proven wrong, but little things that pop up time to time raise question marks.
Don’t get me wrong here…..i would rather see the turn come out either way, and would not be surprised with any outcome, but what is happening at present is not good at all for Arsenal, no matter who is at fault.
Tom Fox…..isn’t he one of your alter egos Kev??
Their has even been talk about us having another crack at Goetze.
How many is that we are in for?
Do other clubs get linked with so many players, or are we a media favourite guys??
Although as we all said yesterday if we had a proper big strong midfielder in the squad anyway Diaby would not of been rushed back to cover for Arteta being injured and would not of had to of played 4 times in ten days…!
Wath, if we do not AT LEAST sign a DM, then all hope is lost!!
I know Ginge, Wenger has done serious business in the past, but the common denominator there is a certain David Dein, not to everyone’s taste, but he is a proper Gooner and he got signing’s DONE…
WATH – agree and here by lies the problem – I do think however if he goes the American will cave to the Russians pressure – he has no interest in Arsenal at all other than money and with Wenger protecting his nest egg (and his own rather well) i think he would run off – only my opinion
On M’Villa, i just read Kazan have a transfer ban…..is that correct guys?
Scott, Tom Fox is a symptom of everything that is currantly wrong with our our club…
Another Yank dung-heap…
Oz. the fans have enormous power and could bring incredible pressure to bear. Game changing pressure. But, perhaps that is just what the syrup wants.
Oz, if that was the case, even i would sacrifice Wenger….anything to get the yank out.
Spot on allez it was a dark day when Dein left and after the death of Fizz the three Musketeers seized their chance, we’ve been locked in a bubble ever since IMO
Stan is the virus then, Kev??
Scott – i just fell off my chair 🙂 only kidding, i believe you would actually
Yes but when has Arsenal ever signed 5 or 6 world renowned players?
The fans have the power so lets do everything we can do get rid of the inept manager so that we can get Arsenal to the proper Arsenal we have always had until the mad French lazy crocked, bonus seeking £7m a year incompetent manager changed our world class buying club to basement purchases. Oh wait, but which Arsenal of the past as Tony Adams asked in October on T.V?
Enjoy your day…
Oz, the day Dein left, was one of the worst days i’ve had in recent years, relating to Arsenal.
I just kinda had this sinking feeling, and nothing that has happened since has lifted that feeling…
I’m not saying that Dein is the panacea for all our problems, but with DD in charge, we’d have a proper fan at the helm, who is also a shrewd business man, but a businessman who realises that you speculate to accumilate…
And since he left we’ve won fcuk all…
Now work that out???
I would Oz.
That is how strongly i feel that Stan is the single thing tearing the club apart, and all for a dollar!
Looking forward to it Kev.
You are on fire Ginge!!
TS. Not everybody needs to be locked into a historical pattern of behaviour that can be predicted by what went before. I am not advocating that fan power be used to get rid of Wenger either but rather to change the ownership and thus the direction of the club.
And to add to the America theme at the club, imagine an American called Dick calling the Wigan Chairman to ask about McCarthy… the call will go something like this…
Dave: Hello, who s this…
Law:Good Morming Mr. Whelan… its Dick here from Arsenal.
Dave: Yes, …eh … Dick what? Are you trying to waste my time?
Law: No Sir, its Dick Law from AFC… we spot the last time your club visited Arsenal.
Dave: Oh, the Yank… oh I mean I did not recognise you voice…
Law: No apologies, I get that a lot…
Fair point Scott – What the American needed was people firmly in his corner, it was a large investment, even if he still hasn’t paid for it all yet. He got that with Law, Gaz and Wenger. He ain’t worth his money for not being smart mate
Not sure that Kroenke is a virus Scott.
He simply lacks interest in our club and lacks ambition as far as developing our club back into it’s best as a competitor…
Ursmanov is ambitious, and as with the days that Henry Norris was replaced by Samuel Hill-Wood, the club needs new direction, to be able to compete in the New World Order…
Afternoon Gooners,
Kev fine read and nothing but a thrashing of W Ham will do.
Adam
This is the restaurant I mentioned last night. The offer came from Groupon.co.uk. ,find London deals with 50 to 70% off. Including food, events, clothing , jewelry and much more….
http://www.superocakbasi.co.uk/ £44 for a super mix feast for four, including grillicious lamb chops, chicken shis, mixed meze and lots more. Worth normally £119,00
Maybe a call could hustle a deal for 31 January. Half of the world is owned by enterprising minds.
agree again allez
Oz, i do not actually blame Stan at all…..i blame those who opened the door to the bastard.
He is an investor, and has never pretended to be anything but.
Factions, politics and infighting can tear anything apart, and it appears people put their own egos in front of what is best for Arsenal.
Anyway, i am off for some kip…see you all at kick off.
Night guys.
TS – Alex Ferguson has never signed 5 or 6 world class/renowned players in one season either. 4, yes. 5 or 6? no.
TS. Was that an imaginary conversation or did it actually take place?
Nice thought Adam but how realistic is it? – they are very firmly entrenched and with it being trendy now days to be seen at the football, they will fill seats regardless or whether they are real fans or not?
Just a play on words Kev, after you labelled Tom a symptom….terrible attempt at humour!!
Night.
Scott – night mate
Sounds good Adam, but does the Ocakbasi have a barbacue pit the size of an iron-ore works, like Lee’s regular haunt???
Oz… the yank will look at selling up only when the tv money comes in and the Nike deal has been renewed with who ever, that will prob peak his shares prices and he can sell out after asset stripping us and selling all our best players.
Night Scott…
Lastly point … Usmanov said in his later in July that the board convinced Stan to buy the club on the EXPLICIT condition that he would not have to spend his own money.
Usmanov stated that AW had to make money to ensure players and staff are paid as well as pay of the debt…
So if people choose to ignore all these key facts that the expected Mahdi/Messiah of Arsenal said then….
Later
Oz. yes, they will or a while but as the prices inexorably rise I think it will become increasingly difficult to sell tickets for a whole season. All this 7 year waiting list is nonsense. And let us not forget the atmosphere which is pretty bad now. I see it as a circle, a declining circle. Everything depends on the performances on the pitch and as we see, they ain’t great,
Night Scott see u later on…!
Oz maybe your also spot on, If wenger was not there who in their right mind would take over with no money and no backing even to earn 7mil a yr and who would placate the fans… would the share price go tits up and then Syrup feels the need to run back home to his ranch… Even if the shares drop doesn’t AU have to pay the highest price he paid for a single share in the previous 12 months…? if So Syrup can afford to take a risk long as 12 months does not pass that he looses the best single share price offered.
Kev. Your 12.30 was a great post.
I think flame pits are de rigeur in Stoke Newington.
Only good things can come of a flame pit….
Rocky. I can think of a few things that I would like to see go into a flame pit. 🙂
Funny that Ts but when AU isn’t even on the board how does he know what the Board did or did not tell Stan..? We are all well aware of what the club must make each year to service the debt but again they pay someone 7 miullion a year to carry the can why not tell them to go take a hike and go earn more elsewhere..? Far to many if’s and but’s and no one knows it’s as simple as that. Yesterdays economics are not today’s, not with the money still pouring into the game.
the issue here is, Dein invited Stan to meet the board lets not forget, i think then, after some furthering of the Dein/Kroneke friendship DD realised he was not the man for the challenges ahead. Welcome Usmanov, competitive, no nonsense, straight shooter with a No1 or nothing attitude. Perfect foil against the overseas money that DD knew was coming to the game and was going to hurt his club big time. The boards initial reaction to Stan was “we don’t care for his kind around here” and they blamed DD directly – DD then had the impossible task of convincing them Usmanov was different, they weren’t buying, DD was out on his ear.
Since then Wenger has drawn the lines in the sand and several times has made it very clear, he’s with Stan. “We don’t need him” was one of his recent interviews – WE DON’T NEED HIM!!! Who the hell is we?? Its obvious who we is. If Usmanov comes Wenger is gone no even though the Russian has chosen carefully his words so as not to alienate any Wenger supporting fans.
Stan sporting his syrup would be a step in the right direction….
God help us. So we still haven’t signed anyone. AW is still looking for top top top quality when we have £70m of transfer fund sitting in the bank. We know were the problem is in the team(DM/Box-box & Striker). There are bargains all around and we do nothing. For the striker position it will be difficult to get a top top top striker in jan except you are ready to spend above the odds. But for a DM it’s inexcusable. If nothing is done this window get ready for thursday evening on ITV4 if we are lucky
I think my post at 12:03 was misunderstood… what I was trying to say and to further emphasise what Kev said in his brilliant post is that even when AW buys so many players including obvious signing like Sol, he also buys a couple of ‘Gervinhos’ to balance things out.
My point was never to say AW buys world class… the fact that I added Inamoto and Skúlason who hardly played for us was to point out that he always bought bad players too. But in the last few years the gamble has not worked mainly due to the fact that we sell our better players unlike in the past where the Van Bronckhorst of this world where not brought in and put in the position to make us potential champions immediately.
WATH.. you are forgetting the AU and DD relationship. The fact that DD stated that we would not be competitive if we built our own stadium because he knew how the non-footballing board members were shafting the club in the short to medium term with the loan to benefit themselves and their families….
When we visit the Emirates we see the home of Arsenal FC. A concrete edifice, built on the back of Wenger’s astuteness. When Kroenke visits I imagine he sees a future shopping mall and apartment blocks. If the crowds fall he can always move the team to play at The redeveloped training ground and develop the stadium and the land around it most profitably. Perhaps Josh Kroenke could take control of the project? The Wal Mart stadium even. How about London Colney Arsenal, or The Hertfordshire Heathens, The South Mimms Syrups, sponsored by the company make Stan’s wigs. Whoever will pay the most for the naming rights I suppose.
emma – how many times have you heard this ‘top top’ line and of the transfers he does make, how many of them fulfil his “change the world” predictions?? I think he as well lost his magic in the transfer market and for some years now and we are clearly not the appealing club we once were anymore either – players read papers too
What I’m looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an ‘ot dog, know what I mean?
Oi clubhouse carnivores
Just checked some snapshots of the venue, besides plenty broomy syrups to be spotted, it looks Istanbul contemporary and not that updated on comfort. Just giving a heads up.
The Yanks love snobbery. They really feel they’ve arrived in England if the upper class treats ’em like shit.
I’m glad I found out in time just what a partnership with a pair of wankers like you would’ve been. A sleeping partner’s one thing, but you’re in a fucking coma! No wonder you got an energy crisis your side of the water!
Thank you Bob Hoskins.
Was that from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Lee?
Or The Long Good Friday?
Hook….
I think we need Harold to broker for Arsenal…
Harold Steptoe?
Mr Hoskins at his very best…..!
TS, the thing was DD knew full well the Board would not re-invest adn we would suffer short term but lets not also overlook the fact he has also lined his pockets selling to AU and made himself a tidy packet.
What DD wanted was to be Chairman and when DD jumped into bed behind the Boards back that was enough for PHW to have him frog-marched off the premises. DD shafted himself big time with that deal. Only when the Board then saw DD with Au did they want the syrup on board. The rest is history…!
Lee. Is that true what you said about Yanks in your 1.05?
Agree WATH but in fairness, you could see why he might have changed direction from the American
Wath. Do you know what caused the original rift between Dein and Fiszman?
Lee, you watched St Georges Day…?
wath, that’s a film I can’t see myself EVER watching!
Adam, it’s a Hoskin’s quote from TLGF.
Adam, Yes sort of… Potter also has a good idea we discussed that a year or so back… It was all down to Biz….! Not AFC biz either…! that then soured the relationship very badly…! It made things within AFC very very nasty and splintered.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Dein
St Georges Day Rock…??
DD got left holding the baby for the Cole affair as well if memory serves.
Top film for its time, Lee.
Pierce Brosnan is only a kid in it …And the para medic from Casualty or Holby City is Hoskins’ henchman….
In fact wath, Keeley Hazell is the only reason it’d get anywhere near my dvd player!
Nope not seen it.. a cracking quote “what’s the difference between an American and a vagina?” “A vagina can’t make a right American of itself!” Use another word for vagina though…
For Rocky
http://www.keeleyscorner.com/
bless him . Lol
Wath. Yes, I agree, but nobody talks specifics. That rift has been the root cause of so much shit and is essentially a great part of where we are today. It allowed The Syrup to slide in and establish this seemingly unshakable grip on the club. I believe it is stifling the club in fact.
It always amazes me how stupid these very rich, successful businessmen are. Fiszman put his own irritation with Dein over and above what was the best for AFC surely and there has only been one winner.
ah the yellow bikini girl
God bless you SYG… God bless you!
Top film mate right up your street worth getting/finding/downloading
the price of the ego hey Adam? You are right mate, we have paid for it ever since
The cast looks shocking wath! All the old cockney wannabe’s all in one film! Foreman… Fletcher…. Moran…. teh knob who played Rod in Football Factory… The knob who played Frank in football factory…
right, off to the gym… see you n a bit
The Dein /Fiszman spat to my understanding was over share prices. Dein wqanted to buy in to Arsenal but didn’t have enough cash and went to Fiszman and borrowed some cash and Fisman bought in as well. The agreement was that when Dein had enough to buy the shares he would buy Fiszman out at no loss including normal interest rates. When the day came however Fiszman decided not to sell and they fell out.
That is a rough parody of what I was told , it may be correct or not . I am open to anyone else that may have heard differently or in fact knows the facts. ,
Very close to what I was told Potter although there was something else mentioned outside of the shares that went on between them.
Rocky, it’s worth a watch mate…. I enjoyed it…!
Cockney wannabe gangsters Lol….
Kenneth Cranham was Harvey Moon in one life; and in Layer Cake in another and calling everyone a “cant” …..
At least on Le-Grove they can spell the word ….
And in the meantime Dein had persuaded the board that Bergkamp would elevate both the status and the success of the club and he was right. Then Dein found Wenger and without Wenger we can only guess at what would have happened and where Arsenal would be now. Almost certainly the Emirates would not stand. I would have thought that these things alone would have been enough to convince these two that, for the sake of the club, they had to maintain a working relationship. My friend in the know says that everyone within the families is absolutely schtum on the matter. All we know is that there was a big falling out and that money was probably a big part of it. We are all living with the consequences of that because I can’t imagine Dein sitting playing with himself like Kroenke is while the team flounders. Dein could obviously all to Wenger and push him towards finding real-world solutions. Gazidis can’t it seems.
No one knows what lies ahead in the future, Adam.
We know that history always repeats itself in some form or another, and that being the case, Arsenal WILL be great again.
Dein could come back at some point, but he is 70 years old … seven years younger than the buffoon that is PHW… anything could happen.
SYG. least we know with your take on history repeating itself is that the swampies will ALWAYS be shit………….!
I’m surprised by the repulsive confrontation you lot seek with narcissism. It’s been around since Roman Empires and beyond. The globe is not a planet, it’s a business.
HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF….
As already said – at the moment we are EXACTLY in 20 January 1996 mode, but with a few games in hand and a better goal difference …
Newcastle United were 12 points clear at the top of Manchester United, but they bottled it and Man Utd won the league … The Keegan interview LOL
Arsenal came 5th with 63 points
Man Utd won the FA Cup ….
QPR got relegated …
Aston Villa got to the League Cup Final LOL …
Bradford went to Wembley for the first time and won 2-0 against a team in white
Bayern Munich beat English opposition in Europe 5-1 in England and 2-1 in Munich to progress to the semi-finals … Ouch
Not as shit as us at the moment….
Hi Steve, your analysis at 11.11am is very thoughtful , i wonder if this is how the Cheseas and the Man cities think and they get quick result.
Then to think that Walcott could still leave at 26years of age after we would have spent £45Mil on him just questions Wenger’s wisdom all together.
30 October 1995 – 31-year-old striker John McGinlay scores for struggling Bolton Wanderers as they achieve a surprise 1-0 home win over Arsenal.

21 October 2013 – Grant Holt goal gives Norwich first win of the season as they beat Arsenal 1-0
Younes Belhanda could be available after Inter Milan appear to have passed on the player and Turkish club Fenerbahçe’s offer was rejected.
Montpelier chairman Laurent Nicollin told French newspaper Midi Libre…
“I’ve had no firm offer from Inter and we refused Fenerbahçe’s offer to pay in three instalments.”
Arsenal were reportedly interested in the player in the summer and there was a point where it appeared that Belhanda would be following Giroud to The Emirates.
Last summer Wenger wrote about Belhanda in his blog for French Eurosport.
“He plays without any complexities, his real talent is dribbling, passing and he has good technique which can influence any game.
“I love this player.”
He would be available for between £6-8 million, but quite where he would fit into the current Arsenal set up remains to be seen, maybe as a long term replacement for Tomas Rosicky.
This is another transfer that could got to the wire, just the way Arsene likes it.
Thanx for Ruining that for me Lee, I was feeling happy then for a split second.
Good Afternoon my Esteemed Fellow Gunners.
An old, blind cowboy wanders into an all-girl biker bar by mistake.
He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a shot of Jack Daniels.
After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender, ‘Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?’
The bar immediately falls absolutely silent.
In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says,
‘Before you tell that joke, Cowboy, I think it is only fair,Given that you are blind, that you should know five things:
1. The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat.
2. The bouncer is a blonde girl.
3. I’m a 6-foot tall, 175-pound blonde woman with a black belt in karate.
4. The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weight lifter.
5. The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.
Now, think about it seriously, Cowboy. Do you still wanna tell that blonde joke?’
The blind cowboy thinks for a second, shakes his head and mutters, ‘No…not if I’m gonna have to explain it five times.’
BDW……..good post habib.
Even my old XIH liked it and said well done.
Inter dismiss €14m Belhanda claim
Inter have reacted quickly to dismiss reports that they have done a deal with Montpellier for Younes Belhanda.
“It’s sad that we have to contradict the President of Montpellier, but Inter have never made an offer for their player Younes Belhanda,” Nerazzurri technical director Marco Branca noted.
Branca made the statement this afternoon after the French outfit claimed that the Beneamata had landed the attacking midfielder.
“There is an agreement with Inter,” Louis Nicollin told AMKSpor. “Fenerbahce offered €8m, but Inter bid €14m and that is why we accepted it.
“Inter made a bid last Thursday and I opted to accept it seeing as negotiations with Fenerbahce didn’t turn out positively.”
The Moroccan trequartista is a 22-year-old who has been on the books of the French club since 2003.
Inter have room in their squad for a player like Belhanda given that they sold Dutch international Wesley Sneijder to Galatasaray this week.
I was speaking to a mate about that lot and he said they haven’t got any better we’ve just descended to their shite level! Sad but true….
Adam,Wao two selfish bastards,
I hope they are proud of themselves now,
Because of share price they have left us in a dark hole
and left Wenger to be dealing with all things player related, stadium, salary etc which i guessed never used to be his problem.
Dein would have done a somersault before we could sell Henry , not to talk of selling Fabregas or Toure or RVP.
He would have had a stroke first before agreeing to sell those people.
I also suspect that wen Dein left, all the good scouts left with him as well. They probably went to look for jobs in Chelsea, Man utd , Spuds and maybe Man city because all of a sudden this teams now knew how to buy good players.
Very selfish in my opinion.
lil something to lighten the mood lol.

Thumbs up for the cliffhanger joke. LOL. Catfight setting very much Tarantino-sque. Reminded me of From Dusk till Dawn.

Has anyone noticed that there is a game of Premiership football being played this evening?
II’s between two London teams, one from North London and the other from East London, that makes it a London Derby. The game is being played at a place called The Emirates.
Fans of any club except, Arsenal it seems, would be excited by the prospect of playing in such a derby match and would be chattering about who should be starting, what sort of game it will be and what outcome is likely.
On HH? No chance!
Just the usual moaning and groaning!
Sad isn’t it?
Yes you are!
Going then are you JW, if you think people are moaning and groaning then no one makes you read or comment and it’s all personal opinions but you seem to also have your own and no one is allowed theirs or they must forget reality.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
ALBERT EINSTEIN
Remind you of anyone
And you’re not?
Stop the negativity everything is fine.
Fred what you reckon the score tonight? Your hamster mates will be on ya case!
5-0 Lee………..
Lee
Feel sorry for me to-nite,no win sitch for me
Going to the game with the west ham boys
dogs abuse going and even if we win ,dogs abuse on the way home.
Such a bunch of tosser’s
Lee
Alway’s fancy us winning even when were 4 down
Feel sorry for me to-nite,no win sitch for me
Going to the game with the west ham boys
dogs abuse going and even if we win ,dogs abuse on the way home.
Such a bunch of tosser’s(when it comes to football)
Fred I feel your pain…can I recommend copious amounts of alcohol, it’ll ease the pain?!?!
Fred, your a glutton for punishment mate but fair play…! Good on ya…!
No W.A.T.H. As a pensioner, on a limited income living about a hundred miles from The Emirates, I am not able to go, I only wish I was.
As to me denying anybody their opinions, the suggestion is ludicrous, everybody and his dog is welcome to post their comments but I don’t have to either like them or go along with them.
Perhaps the habit of moaning and groaning has become so ingrained, in some fans, that they are blinded by their own prejudice.
JW
So far this season, Arsenal are nothing more than an accomplished bipolar personage, I will read their mood when the tea time interval occurs. Will they turn up before or after? Restore faith one match and demolish it the next. I feel I’m being yoyo-ed indifferently.
Wish I could pick my mates
family’s a lot easier to ignore
Or Wenger’s indoctrination and bullshit is wearing off of some fans…?
hiya pals, when is the game? am all fired up. 6.0 to the arsenal. grioud and theo with a brace a couple of own goals! COYFGS!
howdy lee, how’s it going?
DG
If we don’t turm up late in the first 45mins
can the BFG…fine the bastards
Well seems to me JW all you do is come on here and moan about other peoples comments yet when you were moaning how crap we were the other week it’s fine. A few would say your blinded by the fact you see/think that everything is fine and great so why are they blinded and your not..? purely because you think they should not react to the reality of whats going on..? You can’t moan at people just because you perceive them to be negative or pessimistic when they don’t throw comments at you for being ignorant of the things that are going on? works both ways.
DG
If we turn up late in the first 45mins
can the BFG…fine the bastards
hahahhah WATH becomimg the voice of reason??? what’s the world coming to?
Stanley, I’m good mate…3-0 to the good guys tonight!
At Arsenal the menu is not the meal.
I thought that was the whole point of a blog…some moan some are negative some are positive some sit on the fence and some have their heads stuck up their arses BUT we are all Arsenal supporters.
nah lee i ll double it. the boys are all fired up. we ll turn them over. 6.0! hey DG, how cold is it really back home? cause mama has been calling and complaining. i think the heater broke or something!
Jovetic any good?
hhahahh and some are lotharios huh lee? or deluded peewee coaches like devilgunner!
1995-96 season we did the double over them home 1-0 (ian wright pen 75) and away 1-0 (John Hartson 2)
As history this season is repeating itself we’ll beat them 3-1.
The real voice of reason Sir Stanley-Nail-a-lot….
SYG you’ve gone all chartist on us!
OMG SYG you plonker where in blazes have you been?
Afternoon Stan
Weather casting predicts horror temperatures come weekend. Heard -10/-15 Friday till Sunday. After that the worst is done.
Arsenal points after 22 PL games from 1996/7 to present….
40,38,39,43,39,41,46,52,48,37,39,51,41,48,43,36,34
W.A.T.H.
I came on here a couple of weeks ago and stated my opinion that we had had a crap game! What I have not done since is to endlessly repeat my opinion.
Where have I ever said that I think everything is “fine and great”? I certainly don’t think that things couldn’t be improved, it’s just that I don’t repeat those views ad nauseum.
Why can’t I state my opinion that many, if not most, of the comments on here are negative and pessimistic? Am I not entitled to my opinion?
I can assure you that I am not “ignorant of the things that are going on” I just feel that endlessly repeating the same old arguments is futile in the extreme.
Still, if you feel that some disagreement with the prevailing body of opinion is unwelcome it’s a sad day for Highbury House.
Sorry about the double posts computors playing up a bit.
We agree on here I think? that wenger was the greatest thing since chicken madras yer.
But…he has lost respect for the supporters firstly,
nearly every arsenal man you talk to ,will tell you the same
we need a defensive m/fielder.
we all know top 4 is very good position to be in,
But our young/old fans need a big win(small cup) to brag about,
I just don’t think wenger understands that.
wow that’s DG, that’s kinda too cold for her old bones. poor mama.
I’ve always liked facts and figures, Lee…. this season resembles 95-96…
We were also dumped out of the FA Cup 0-1 by a lower league side and knocked out of the league cup with a 2-2 and a 0-0 …
That team who knocked us out was the same team who Bradford beat last night….????
Dutch, re your 2.44: Didn’t Belhanda say he didn’t want to come to us, but go to the Spuds instead recently?
Lee says:

Sweet Lord, is JW moaning again?! WHy even bother coming on ghere if the content offends your delicate eyes so much? I really don’t get it. I await your next post eagerly JW… Sure it will be a belter and contain nothing we have ever seen before as that seem to bother you so much.
Stan if she takes out her teeth the vibration from head to toe will lessen. 😉
shut up rocky, let sleeping dogs lie! am the moderator today and i ll bin your ass if i hear a peep out of you. LOL.
hahahhhahhh DG you ll bet am telling her that. she ll come for you. you old rotten no good rotterdamer!
Stan if your the moderator, I’m pretty sure anything goes!!
Goonster – “Where the blazes have you been…..?”
If it wasn’t for the “Plonker” within the post I’d have assumed it was Dr. Watson blogging
… instead it’s that plonker Stanley…!!!!
I’ve always been here … I rarely post outside of silly season’s…
SYG is a bit of a sadist you see Stan…. He knows the anger and rage will be at fever pitch during the transfer window, and that’s what he feeds off!
WHU are 7.5-1 to win tonight…
Take it Lee.
hell yes rocky……..everything and anything! how re ya today buddy? cold huh? i ll bet AK is freezing his butt right about now just to make a few quid! what a plank! hey AK get indoor where its warm you old wind bag!
Emotional hedge? Not for me but….
Emotional hedges are the best you can hope for at the moment!
Rock. Didn’t pick up those comments from Belhanda. But I imagine those are the kind of words thrown at our face considering the league table paired with yesteryear’s consistency from the swamps.
I’m great thanks Stan. Looking forward to going home though. Yeah, pretty chilly and snowy in Covent Garden at the minute.
He’ll be swindling someone Stan? 😉
Stan for President….National Nailing Day!
I may have been wrong Dutch. Just tried looking online for it and couldn’t find anything. May have picked the wrong player, although Belhanda really rang a bell. Unless I read it in the Bleacher Report, in which case it would just be a load of gash anyway!
Lee, every day is National Nailing Day for Stan.
Nice one Rocky !

Diaby 2, Walcott – Diame
Post match interview content
Wenger: “We started with zee handbrake on – I always knew Diaby was World Class – He has both zee qualiteee and zee mental Strenssss – If he was fit he’d be the first name in the France team – I told you we didn’t need M’Villa or Capoue, he’s like a new signing ..”
Sorry had to do somerthing, JW, I could care less what you think about what people say or think or what you think but when you come on with a comment about moan moan moan thats all we get on here it’s rather ridiculous to say the least. Go elsewhere and see the crap thats written and then you may change your opinion.
Whats changed in the world of Arsenal for people to change what they think or what they can write about…? People write and say what they think on whats topical and what is going on day by day how do you expect people to write about things that are not happening or not going on..?
I’m off out now things to do then pub… We can carry this on 2moro JW, as Lee says we aint here to agree disagree talk shit what ever we all Arsenal I just find it strange you see fit to moan at other people perceptions thats all and if your not then thats how it’s coming across.
Have a good evening all and lets smash those spammers later and hopefully see the boys get stuck in and give us something to be happy about…!
hahahaah national nailing day?? wow WATH ll be thrilled! i ll bet that plonker can barely stand erect let alone his mahoska!

tell me about it AK, WATH is a bloody incompetent. what a plank. put me in charge and see HH bloom!
Enough locking horns peeps. Move on……please.

Diame to play tonight Adam???
what time is the game guys?
gosh rocky and AK exchanging text!!!! i feel so left out. grrrrrrrrrr.
Who knows Kev? All this stuff about Arsenal checking him out is total tosh surely. They must know who they want. They should have known in November or December. I think Wenger is busking it now.
You’re probably 100% correct Adam, i guess a part of me still lives in hope of a couple of half-decent signings, even though i should know better….
Stan, 7.45 mate…
And your never alone on HH either….
Where there is life, there’s hope Kev. As JW points out every day, we are all incredibly positive on HH, even if we do repeat it to the point of tedium.
Well i’m offski…. Got an appointment with a kebab…..
Adam, keep warm mate, hope the boys give you and Mrs Adam something to warm your cockles…
Stan, hang loose buddy….
Cheers Kev. Gone in 5 minutes.

Interesting?

Off to the EMS to freeze my fingers off. Hope it is going to worth it!
Does anyone know if the game is on the TV tonight?
JW I have asked before but you have never answered but which part of Norfolk do you come from.? Have you heard of The Norfolk Arsenal Supporters club , they are based in Norwich have regular meetings and have people with views right across the spectrum regarding the Arsenal. They have a website and a google search should find them. I live on the broads and have been to many functions where I met up with people from Diss ,Attleborough , Wymondham , Yarmouth ,Thetford Kings Lynn and of course Norwich. sorry forgot Dereham and Fakenham
It might be worth you having a look.
SYG my French is not that good, I can make out most of it but probably am missing certain nuances and probably getting the wrong end of the stick.
Paul, no its the Swans v the chavs on the box…..

No striker on the bench. Why allow Chamakh to go out on loan?
COYGs!!
SunSport Now@SunSportNow
West Ham team v Arsenal: Jaaskelainen, Demel, O’Brien, Reid, Tomkins, Noble, Taylor, Nolan, Collison, Vaz Te, C.Cole.
No Diame??????!!!!!!
James Olley@JamesOlley
So, Diame on the bench for #whufc & Diaby left out by #afc. Makes the midfield battle intriguing – important role for Ramsey.
OLI Price-Bates@OliPriceBates
#AFC in 4-3-3 with no DM: Szczesny, — Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, — Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla, — Walcott, Giroud, Podolski.
Another sackable offence, no Dm. This got to be a comedy club..
You Are My Gooners@Youaremygooners
#arsenal Subs: Mannone, Jenkinson, Santos, Koscielny, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Frimpong, Arshavin #goonerfamily #afc
Think we missed a trick not insisting he plays against us as part of the loan deal if you ask me.
Evening all and you Mr Meldrew.
LIVE STREAM LINKS. ENJOY FELLOW GOONERS. COYG!!!

Evening Micko… the natives are revolting!!
After his horrific mistakes (1st goal, abysmal crossing) and his apparent lack of confidence and discontent Wenger sticks with Sagna instead of Jenkinson. Why not use Frimpong and use Ramsey as a DM is beyond me. What’s the meaning of having him if we don’t play him?
And Ramsey is error prone too.. Where is the physical size in midfield and up front. Only Giroud. DM acquisition is a must. Ramsey is a good squad player and a better one when coming from the bench. Diaby out again? Lol.
Interesting at least the fact that Diame is kept at the bench. In all likelihood he would have a monster game today physically against our midfield and therefore a potential transfer is kept at a bay?? Highly unlikely.
Snow White’s midfield for us…..
“@BBCSport: Rubin Kazan complete the signing of QPR target midfielder Yann M’Vila from French Ligue 1 club Rennes
Morning all.
I think JW is just trying to get a oittle enthusiasm out of people, because like it or not, we are going over the same topics on a daily basis.
I too question the personal benefit in being so negative, but hey, each to their own.
4-0 or 5-0 winners today guys.
COYGs!! Fingers crossed.
Evening all.
Quick sweep-stake. How many times will the empty seats be mentioned and how many times will 7 years be mentioned?
Ramsey not to get a yellow card
Hope everyone saw that pass from Ramsey…..brilliant.
Another poor pas From Aaron there Scott leading to counter attack. Poor covering also .
Brilliant run from Podolski finished with a bad pass.
Which one?
Haven’t seen him turn it over….Merts on the other hand, twice and counting.
Clear the fcking ball for once!!
well I guess thats all the effort…
so many players are so robust and stationary it gets really frustrating… how can a footbaler not move around, little sprint here little sprint there… what is wrong with this squad… ?
well done down again…
Here we go, another couple of shocking decisions against us.
Collison scores and should not be on the field after the tackle on Jack!!
Why is it we are continually stung when a decision doesn’t go our way?
Still, no one marking the man on the edge of the box???
Again why the fuck noone dived to the ball at the shot? Is this the passion Arsene spoke of??
really can not understand managers persistence of playing players who do not show any intention to actually contribute to teams success…give a run to some youngsters rather than the lazy men…
Podolksi, best left foot around.
I said it before we signed him…the guy has a cannon attached to his leg!!
my boy podolski… =DDDD
We need Cazorla and Wilshere to make the fcking last ball and Podolski at the end of it.. And while i was writing Jesus what a strike!! a bit of RVP magic there..
The ref is allowing west Ham to arrive a little late in the tackle which means our players have to pull out or risk injury. We need proper refs.
Gunnernet, you reckon West Ham fans are asking why nobody dived in front of Pods shot?
It would have taken their head off 🙂
Ramsey saving off the line.
Nothing wrong with his work rate.
we need as DM, not 5 game a season Diaby, not Ramsey, not Arterta… because none of them are the DM, so yeah, we still need a … D ‘fucken’ M …
This Vaz Te will end up sent off here.
hahaha good one Scott.
agreed on 8.15 Gunnernet
Is this idiot giving us any 50/50?
Giroud is a beast up front. He hasn’t lost a single header. If only he he had better technique and first touch.
Look out for Poldi’s left Scoot.. 🙂
Make a fcking foul to stop the counter attack early..! WTF..This team never learns.. Football basics..
this ref realy needs a reality check, and his eyes too…
Come on boys lets beat fat Sam!!
Still room for improvement (stating the obvious) but Arsenal should win this game, West Ham will eventually run outta steam…
Maybe the introduction of AOC in the 2nd 45 will tip the game in our favour…
Think that our midfield are doing a good job…
Podolski is having a very very good game…
Our midfield is fantastic tonight.
Giroud….not a bad touch hey Gunnernet 🙂
Sorry mate couldn’t resist!!
Giroud first touch. I will eat my tongue! 🙂
I am Gunner be late for work AGAIN!!?
That goal by Giroud was worked on the training field. A peach of tactics.
Now it’s Ramsey’s turn for a screamer Scott! 🙂
He scores when he wants!!!!
was that Kanu vs middlesbrough revisited???
What a last ball by Podolski. Outstanding stuff! Arsenal from the past..
Podolski 3 assists. The man can’t pass. He should be at the end of them not creating them…. 🙂
I reckon no signings then..
Gunnernet… 🙁 you know that!
despite the lead we’re still chasing the ball. THAT is the arsenal of old.
Can we start all the games from second half please??!
Surely Cazorla or Wilshere can get a rest
Why always Podolski?
Why not Wilshere?
That’s it Wenger. Burn out the best players when the game is easily won.
What is wrong with the guy?
what happened to the guy on the ground?
this is not looking good… hope he is fine, regardless of team, dont wish no1 no bad…
so WHU made 3 subs and we still got like 20 mins to play including added time, so its gona be like 13-1
looks like it could be spinal injury,or a broken collar bone, smth extreme anyway…
@ Tlailaxu Kozzer will score too. So probably 13 – 2..
Breaking News… : Eden Hazard has been sent of for… KICKING A BALL BOY!!!…
=DDDDDDDDDDD
F… me that is funny as hell, how can a footbaler in EPL kick a ball boy… =DDD
Why Walcott is playing through the middle? He signed the damn contract… 🙂
=D … yeah, thats what I thought, put in in left back position…. AAAAAAAAAAAAAA …. 12 minutes added time…
Hilarious.. 🙂
But i admit that this young lad is quite annoying..
no… didnt get to see it
…copyrights
Chavs out….
So even Swansea will win a trophy this year!
ok…saw on youtube… outrageous, I guess I’m glad we didnt sign him but hey, dont know what the kid was doing with the ball like that… none the less, what hazard did is inexcusable and its gona take him forover to get himself out of troubsle for this one, could easily be banned by FA for extended period for this …
ok boys, night night… good game btw… =)
Thought that Ramsey had a great game tonight.
In fact the midfield as a whole showed a huge improvement in work rate and closing down
Not sure what Santos brings to the team?
Don’t we have anyone else to put on the bench??
I’d rather see Eisfeld as a sub…
Podolski had to have one of his best, if not ‘the’ best game, he’s played in an Arsenal shirt…
Finally showed what he can bring to the team. Now lets see that kind of form on a consistant basis..
Gibbs also showed some great tackling, and is coming along nicely.
He still has a way to go, but i like him a lot and think that he’s gonna be as good as Ashley Cole eventually…
Ramsey showed you need brains not brawl to play DM.Excellent, like D.Fletcher of 3 years ago…
Now they have to show the same application at Brighton this weekend…
Night Gooners
Aaron was great, Podolski was great, Giroud was great.
All the guys were.
The ballboy had slipped over which the youtube clip does not show.
Hazard MUST get 12 months, surely.
Ke, you touched on it, and i say it every week…when we have movement on and off the ball, we play well.
It is simple, but so am i 🙂
Go you good things!!
He played the ball!
Should have been a dropped ball!
Ref got it all wrong.
Ball boy needs to be put on a bread and water diet! Weight loss absolutely essential, he could have smothered the ball and the chavs would never have seen it again
Both in the wrong. Hazard 3 games and ball boy – no more mcdonalds for 3 weeks!
Hazard 12 months.
Afternoon Scott – again our jeckle and hyde nature on full view again – 24 attempts at goal. Vital win and the score reads 5-1 and that is what the focus will be on, a good looking win. – Poor old Fat Sam, so keen to get one over us, maybe next time hahaha
I doubt Hazard will get any punishment particularly after the idiot kid is on twitter talking about wasting time – shows where the morals of the game are going
Agree on Pod allez, impressive.
That ball boy was tweeting before the game that it was his last match and he was going to slow the game down as much as possible.
Totally in the wrong imo BUT funny the chavs are out!
hahah agree mate – what a strange final!
Afternoon all.
If a kid back chats me, can i now clip him over the year?
No, Hazard had no right to do what he did and deserves 12 months, imo.
An adult should no better, and if i was the kids dad, he wouldn’t be a little arsehole and do such a thing, but Hazard would be in hospital for a month!!!
I wanted Hazard at Arsenal in a big way.
I am glad we missed him.
You can not buy class.
Chelski goooooneeee……love it.
Wenger on signings ” No I have nothing to tell you. That is why I have to shorten the press conference, because I have to do some work!”
Just watching the replay, and Podolski has gone bbbbbooooooooommmmmmmmm!
What a bloody strike!!
It gets better every time i see it!!
Lee, we will get players in, mark my words and hold me to it bud!!
I am fired up.
Had a huge day at work.
Early start.
Few beverages afterwards and the Arsenal are playing…..life is good.
Oz, i am going down to Victoria to pick up a new greyhound pup on the weekend, and there is a little Arsenal syndicate being formed, the dog will have an Arsenal based named, as will the syndicate…let me know if you want in!!
$500.00 gets a 1/5th share, and nothing til the start of May, then $45 a month.
We have 3 members and counting.
He kicked the ball from under the kid who was deliberately lying on it…a 12 month ban are you serious??
That Poldi strike was like an exocet!!
Yes Lee.
Answer me this…what would you have done if a player on hindreds of thousands a week did that to your son??
I would have jumped the fence and belted shit out of him.
No, my kid would never be such a little arsehole, but that is irrelevant, imo.
He kicked the kid, and should be penalised big time.
The kid should also be banned from ever being a ballboy again, but there is a reason adults have different rules to kids….we should know better.
That third goal was just sensational…..vintage Arsenal.
How many will give Ramsey the credit he deserves for the perfomance guys?
Let us see.
He kicked the ball from under the the fat cheating welsh kid imho. I’d clip my son round the ear for cheating.
Hardly a ball boy he’s 17yrs old.
It will just die a natural death i expect
Morning all,
Not a bad game. Bit disappointed we only played for 10 mins but I guess Pott’s injury stopped our momentum.
1) Giroud proved me wrong that he’s a poor finisher
2) Confidence in each other and their own talents goes a long way
3) Pod and Gibbs really own that left side
4) Ramsey proved that he can fill in for Arteta with a 95% pass rate and great clearance
5) Walcott really cannot take free kicks
6) I really hope the “work” wenger needs to do gets done soon and perhaps includes Wanyama or M’vila.
7) Still feel Wilshere or Cazorla could’ve come off. I wonder which or both will play the weekend and again against Liverpool.
What actually happened to Potts guys?
I missed it this morning, and even the replay skipped over it…
Clash with Sagna….
Lee,
I just saw a different camera angle and yep, Hazard was silly but not nasty.
He will cop a few games suspension, but yes, the 12 months i suggested was totally wrong.
We really missed a chance v Bradford, didn’t we??
amazing, the raffle that is cup comp’s hey?
Yep.
You know it’s gonna be a late deal for David Villa…..
As long as we get him Lee…better late than never.
Morning All, top player David Villa but I don’t want him…. rather put the 10 million add another 10million and get a 21/22 yr old quality striker… Jovetic would be proper..!
hasn’t Barca already squashed all this stuff?
Villa’s trying to force a move….I’d rather Cavani or Jovetic but beggars and all that!
Morning lee, Wath and Oz. Nice to see Allardyce get some last night.
had my choice, i’d flex our feeble muscles and go after Dzeko personally 🙂
Oz, Barca keep saying no, But Villa keeps saying he wants out, so who knows what will happen.
Wath, it is certainly unlike Wenger to be looking at a 31 y.o.
After last night I think it’s clear we don’t need any more players.
Hey Adam, yeah especially how he was giving it big about enjoying his wins over Wenger hahaha Had that coming for sure
Has anyone actually got any links to Villa saying he wants out?
Yes Oz. I don’t think the irony of that was lost on the crowd either.
Agree Scott – i would be very surprised if there are any strikers on Wengers hit list – Could be the boy from Swansea and Celtic lad are serious options
60183 customers over there too Adam…..?
At least Lee. They queuing back to Finsbury Park, fighting to get in when I arrived.
Ker fuckin ching……
New Post up you lot……!
Good Morning my Esteemed Fellow Gunners.
First….to get it off my chest. I am with Hazard on yesterday. Dont get me wrong……….I do not condone what he did. But the boy had it coming. Try to ask me what if it was my son? Well I would have boxed his ears if he had done that sort of thing. That is what is wrong with society today. We focus on the secondary action and pillory Hazard (which may be right also) but we should not forget the primary action. And that is the intentions and execution of the spoilt brat’s actions.
I would have kicked his face in if he did that to me.
Now I can discuss yesterday’s performance in piece.
Positive vibes….
Did we win last night?
