Morning all.
So, Jamie Vardy said no to Arsenal which is a shame for the club but for Leicester, it’s good. Sometimes one just has to pat a player on the back and say well done for staying loyal to a club which really made him who he is today. As someone said yesterday, it’s a great shame a few Arsenal players haven’t been as loyal over the years but they buggered off as soon as more money was offered.
My guess is Jamie Vardy wanted a four year deal rather than three and that’s just what he’s now got, even though he’ll earn £20K a week less each week. But he hasn’t spurned Arsenal as all the headlines suggest, he’s just stayed at a club which has just won the Premier League, something Arsenal haven’t done for years.
Personally, I think he’ll regret it, but so what, it’s over now and he’ll never get another chance. The most important thing is who Arsene Wenger now has in his sights because he’d have been foolish to put all his eggs into one big Jamie Vardy basket. Mauro Icardi is the man Arsene is now looking at according to TalkSport.
The Alexis Sanchez ‘in or out’ stories rumble on as Juventus continue to be linked with him and having had to sell Morata back to Real Madrid, it’s suggested that the Italian club will step up their interest.
But should Arsenal do all they can to keep him?
Over the last few days, weeks and months, there’s been many different views expressed about our Chilean. He’s not a team player say some, he’s a one trick pony say others, his game has been sussed out and like Arsene Wenger, he doesn’t have the ability to change said a few. Sell him is a constant view I’ve heard and read from Arsenal fans both around the blogshere and social media.
I was surprised as just two years ago, Alexis arrived at the club and those same fans were no doubt well and truly excited, I know I was. His first season was very good, last season, maybe not so good as his first, certainly not if he’s to be judged on goals scored alone.
But is it another case of not having the right players around him, players who aren’t on his wavelength, players who when he looks up, aren’t in a good place or the right place as is often the case when Ozil is on the ball?
Or is he really just a selfish player who only thinks about his own game and his own performance?
I personally love the player and hope he stays for many years to come but what about you guys, would you be disappointed if Arsenal cashed in on him already as long as he was replaced?

I think he is a one trick pony on the left by cutting in but seems so much better on the right.

Personally I like Alexis Sanchez. He had a difficult time last season but he did have an injury. For me he can be a game-changer and we don’t have many of those.
Ditto Adam, he and Ozil are a must to stay imo.
But as others have said, Wenger has to give him a proper rest after the COPA this time which is one of a few reasons why he needs to have a good transfer window…
Same with Ozil and Kos is their countries go far in the Euros. Wales should be out next round so Ramsey will get a holiday… 😉
Rico. I hope that Wenger signs great players, but I hope he signs players with character, desire and a degree of belligerence too. What he simply must not do is to sign flakey whingers and weak men like Nasri and Anelka and players of that type. We surely must reinforce the fact that we are Arsenal.
