Luck of the Draw today, Drogba in January anyone?

Today is all about the Champions League draw and who we might face in the New Year.

The possible teams are:

Napoli
CSKA Moscow
FC Basel
Lyon
Bayer Leverkusen
Zenit St Petersburg
AC Milan

Personally I don’t think we should fear any of the sides but it would be better to steer well clear of Moscow and Zenit, only for travelling reasons.

My money is on us drawing AC Milan, we could all wave to Flamini on the bench!

The draw takes place, well more like the Sky Sports saga, begins at 11am.

One team who won’t be in the draw and who we face on Sunday is having further problems, reports this morning suggest that there was a training ground bust up between Mario Balotelli and Micah Richards and the latter had to be held back, preventing a mass brawl.

Shame, we could have done with Richards doing just enough damage to the Italian to keep him out of Sunday’s fixture.

It’s good to read that their camp is not a happy one at the moment, it’s a good time to go there and I think the pressure is on them, more than it is us.

Talking of Citeh and the Europa Cup, poor old Arry saw his side win 4-0 against Shamrock Rovers but it wasn’t enough to see them through to the next stage of the competition.

Bit of news on our players, Francis Coquelin wants to join Joe Cole at Lille, thankfully for a loan period only but with Frimpong looking likely to go out on loan next month, maybe we’d be better keeping the Frenchman, if anything happens to Song, we’ll need him.

Park has been talking about his chances which to date have been very limited and to be honest, quite disappointing but he’s ready to step up now.

All my team mates are great players, I do not expect a chance for me because a player is unavailable.

I will do my best to prepare myself to take any random chances at any time. I am new to this club and to the Premier League. I am trying hard to learn more and more.

Unless Wenger signs a striker in January, his chance may come sooner rather than later.

We have five fixtures in fifteen days, between Sunday and the New Year and very soon both Chamakh and Gervinho will be off to the ACON’s…. It’s going to be tough!

That’s about it, other than Drogba wants out of Chelsea next month, go on Arsene, take a risk…. 😉

Have a good day all…..

To pay Drogba GBP 200.000 a week, NO not AW at least. Good to ship him to Cina – he does not skor against us there.

We had quite a fall of the white stuff first thing but now its stopped 🙁

Morning AK, two more after today – hoorah 🙂

  3. rico says:

I love watching the CL coverage, they keep showing the Mancs going out and ‘Only two PL sides left in’ – How it must hurt them to say one is Arsenal 🙂

  4. Joaquim Moreira says:

    good morning
15,0000 for Poborsky ? I’m going to watch him today against Bayern. Arsenal scouts will be there too.
Basel maybe the best one. Everybody know now his potential and their qualities. It will be not a surprise now-
In March Zenit and CSKA will be not so bad… Russian League is finish now. They can now improve their teams or not. Sometimes, European teams got there for improve their teams. Of course, theu are strong teams.
Laverkusen is dangerous.Lyon maybe the worst of all of them. Don’t forget that both will stop few weeks next month,
Napoli and Milan are dangerous. Fist because Milan going to improve his team in January; second, because their performance in March will be better then now; third, because usually Italian performance teams usually grow up since the begiining until the end of the season. The probably reality now it will not be the same in aa couple months later.

Morning JM, i read that we are watching Podolski again today, it seems he is a real transfer target and a potential signing in january, hopefully you will be able to tell us just how good or not he is 😉

  6. allezkev says:

    Hi Stan.
Yeah Rico, i can’t wait until Monday & i’m on the train home.
You working then Lee. Thought a lot of the offices were closing down.
Damn those Japs, they never go on holiday…

  7. allezkev says:

Skys coverage starts at 11am. But i think the actual draw starts at 12noon.
Tbh i’m suprised that Sky didn’t cancel their coverage now that their little darlings ManUre are out!

  8. rico says:

David Miles was asked about the draw and, the transfer window, he says that if Wenger sees the right player, he won’t hestitate to add him in Jan 🙂

  9. rico says:

It will be tough JM, but we can go through…

IF we don’t suffer too many injuries and Wenger buys a striker and JV in Jan..

  10. Joaquim Moreira says:

I read now: The games will be play in 14 and 22 February; in this time, Russian League is stopped. So, no competition in Russia, So, later you will tell me who goes ahead: the russian Teams or those who playing against them,

  11. rico says:

Glad we are not going to Russia….

    Flamoney goonster…

alan, hopefully the rift will get to their lot before sunday…

    Gotta larf at the media.
BBC5Live seem to be writing Arsenal off already.
Milan [a] has definately given them a hard~on!
    Well bollocks to them.
This Milan isn’t the Milan of Maldini, Costacorta, Gullit or Van Basten.
And does anyone imagine that when the draw was made that there was a massive hooray at the San Siro when Arsenal came out of the hat..?
A trip to a warm Italy in February is just what our lads could do with to get away from a miserable English winter.

  13. allezkev says:

ManUre & Shittie both have difficult ties.
They cannot afford to play Carling Cup teams in their matches.
But they should both go through.
And that’s what is best for Arsenal.
Hope they meet in the semi~final.

  14. devilgunner says:

Hiya Folks. Afternoon guys and chicks of the Gunners’ faith.

Milan is not an easy draw. But its not the worse one. We can do it.

However we cannot salute Flamoney. He is out injured and will not return before March.

    However we can outgun them.

  15. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all, nice one Ricolicious.
Milan eh, the way this years Champions League is going i would think we stand a good chance of winning it this year, of course most people would think that Barcelona would make the final, I reckon they will be put out before that, Two out of the best 3 are out so basicly we only have to get through to Barca beat them and Parade the cup, I know if i asked you all, that if we were to win two trophies this year what ones would you take

  16. devilgunner says:

I am feeSing sagna and Wilshere will be fit and we will progress….they will be more upset with the draw….weve a great record against the italians

  17. rico says:

alan, their egos were always destined to break 😉

Hi DG, that’s sad about Flamoney….

Afternoon Steve, thanks re the post

  18. devilgunner says:

SUNDERLAND footballers Lee Cattermole and Nicklas Bendtner have been arrested in connection with a car-wrecking spree in Newcastle city centre.

A number of cars were damaged in Stowell Street in the city, just yards from Newcastle United’s St James’s Park.

    lol.

  19. rico says:

They have been bailed now, said earlier that Wenger won’t like that behaviour, if his afc career wasn’t already over, it is now….

  20. devilgunner says:

Been bailed??? That is something I can never stand Rico. If there is enough proof leave them in jail. Whoever it is. AW should tell him to stay away from Arsenal forever.

  21. rico says:

It means the Police allow them out but they have to return to police station on a said date – in the meantime, they make further enquires to find out whether they will have enough evidence to prosecute them or not…

In other words, they have no evidence as yet 😉

  22. Micko says:

Oh well, that’s march sorted for me, Villa and Milan in the same week, cushty.

Lee, behave yourself today, people are still talking about you from last years office party !

  23. Micko says:

Can’t see us signing dogpoo from chelsea myself, I mentioned the more likely target the other day and nearly got lynched for it.

Bendtner, if your reading, your a prize plonker.

Have a good evening folks, catch you tomorrow.

  24. rico says:

Seems everyone has gone, so i’m off too – guess christmas preparations are getting in the way of blogging 😉

nighty night all, have a good one….

  25. allezkev says:

    Morning Rico.
As for Lee? He could be anywhere, spending the night on some obscure station in East Anglia…
Hope you get home in one piece mate… 🙂

  26. smudge says:

Guys lets make this blog platinum ! Get on the blog and talk FFS!
Rico I love Arsenal with all my you know what . All you guys hold on to your birds and enjoy! FFS!!!

  27. allezkev says:

Apparantly Alban Bunjaku has agreed to join those East London ‘giants’ West Ham United..!?
No interest from Chavs, Shittie, ManUre etc.
    Why???
    Was it about money?
Or, was it about the lack of playing time?
A shame, but we move on!

  28. allezkev says:

To me, Ivan Gazides faces his most important 8 months at the club to date.
A period that could set the seal on his time as CEO.
If he fails during this period, then how could he possibly retain his position?
Any lasting creditability that remains with the fans would be lost.
He has to ensure, that the transfer business needed to show RVP & Theo that their future is at Arsenal, is concluded successfully.
And he has to ensure that RVP is kept out of the clutches of Shittie AT ALL COSTS.
Losing Robin to those Arab tossers would not be forgotten or forgiven.

  29. allezkev says:

Gazides has a maximum of the next two transfer windows to save his reputation in the eyes of the fans i believe.

  30. rico says:

    New post up

Smudge – you’ll have to get on a bit earlier in the day 😉

    AK, that’s a real shame about Alban Bunjaku, maybe he’ll think again – he’s a fool….
