Looking at Villa, Mbiwa & Wanyama? what now for Arsene?

Morning Gooners,
Well if you believe the papers we’re back in for David Villa as he has asked to leave Barca…. More chance of us buying a Villa in Spain.
Mbiwa didn’t turn up for his Newcastle medical and now two plus two equals we’re in for him and lastly Victor Wanyama from Celtic is again being mentioned.
Why have we left it so late yet again to bring in the players we need. Maybe it’s all a smoke screen so we can say well we tried up until the last minute like the club said last Jan.
Onto today’s post and thanks SP.
Sundays game with Chelsea FC, is over and gone, along with many Gooners hopes of a winning run, Chelsea’s dismissal of us was just too easy, and many Gooners have a bad taste in their mouths. The great Arsenal football club look to be far from the great Club it used to be, Managed by a Frenchman and co owned by an American and a Soviet. Arsenal football club are slowly sinking down the Premier league, Even our repulsive neighbours are above us and that in itself is enough to send shock waves through the red part of london. This English club today is no more English than your local Macdonald’s. not that that seems to matter anymore because the football that were seeing is a far cry from what it was.

Arsene Wenger believes in this team we have, he has said on numerous occasions that we have the fire power to compete with anybody in any competition. He states that the only thing missing with this present team is confidence, he also states that the spirit in this team is first class and the players we have have immense talent. At this present time of the season we have been eliminated from The Capital One cup we are  20 points behind the current leaders in the league, but we are still in the FA Cup The Champions League and sitting in sixth place in the league so it is still mathematically possible to win that as well.

Arsene Wenger has said that the league is probably out of our grasp now but who knows, he has said that if we drop more points we stand to lose out on a fourth place spot for a Champions league place, at the moment that does not seem the most important thing for this season, but survival is. We have  eight days left of the transfer window. and up to now we have added no new players, we have returned many bad performances in, and the team we have now have very little left in them. Our squad is weak we have very little spirit despite what the Manager says, he’s right about the confidence, but sadly that will not come back by bad results or being told how good they can be.

This Club is due a major shake up from Share holders down to ball boys. For Arsenal to get the Great back into it changes are needed. Arsenal FC have not brought top quality replacements for several years, all clubs sell players and Arsenal are no different, all the great names of talented  Arsenal players of the past are not here now, they have gone but we have not replaced with the same kind of player. Cesc Fabregas £35 million we sold him for. Thierry Henry £25 million,  Robin Van Persie £22 million to name just a few, but our biggest buy was 15 million Andre Arshavin 4 years ago. Arsenal for whatever reasons are letting the standard of Arsenal players go down they are milking the cash cow sell high and buy cheap. Arsene Wenger is the man in charge of all football related  matters’s of the club, its his responsibility to keep the standards up, but they are dropping. Our financial people are telling whoever will listen that a transfer Kitty is available for the manager to use, as and when he needs too. Figures of £70 million plus have been bandied about but probably that will now be put aside to cover the lack of Champions League football next season or we will be told by Wenger that he doesnt feel the need to spend it as the quality was not there.

When looking at who we have sold and who we have brought it is quite evident that the money is not equalled out , many millions have been made by our sales than what we have spent, so where is the problem. Its our understanding that Wenger runs the football side and others run the business side so where is the money, season tickets are the most expensive out of all the clubs in our division, so supporters are not benefitting so where is that money. We have currently many players out on loan, many have said they will never play for Arsenal again, we also have players who we cannot sell that are still in contract, Players that we hardly ever use these players some of who are having their wages paid by the clubs they are loaned  out to, may never play for Arsenal again so what is the point.

How can a Manager be allowed to carry on like this when its obvious to everybody that Arsenal are only going in one direction. For eight years now we have not been in a winning final, we have not won the league  in fact we have not won anything. Where the manager takes praise for top four finishes, and that has been seen as a successful season. We have seen New managers at other clubs takeover and many are above us now in the league, where we stick with the same old tactics that are proving to be unsuccessful, theirs are working. Where they are looking to win everything Wenger is only looking to keep making money, this has got to stop. A thriving business runs on investment, earn money and reinvest. Successful clubs use the money earned to make their clubs more successful and ultimately earn more money, but Arsenal’s reinvestment is miserly in comparison. The Board show no ambition or foresight and do not force Arsene it seems to do whats needed, they need to hold him accountable for results and actions and not be satisfied with being also-rans.

Arsene Wenger is Struggling his team is struggling to, the window is open to relieve the pressure but Wenger still waits, Points in the league have been dropped since the window opened we have gained no points at all in the last two games and still Wenger waits, many top players are looking for new clubs so plenty of talent about, no news from our club on trying to sell our deadwood off. Eight days left will Wenger feel more comfortable when the window closes, will he insist that the talent was not as good as he has already, do we have to wait for the summer window where we can start again, or do we look for a replacement Manager that will make the changes needed to make us Great again.

    Morning All,

Thanks SP very good read mate.

Well Wenger had a meeting with the players yesterday instead of a warm down and they thrashed out that player for 45mins out of 90 isn’t on…! We are lacking belief and confidence….! How many times must we hear that..? They are also lacking professionalism and mentality when they roll over so easily and play dead for a side that wasn’t that much better than us.

On paper we’re a pretty good side……….. I so wish we played on paper it would hide the fact we have no fight or passion in the team bar 3/4 players.

  2. W.A.T.H says:

It’s in the papers Matty….. They say he now supposed to turn up today and then at the same time they say he waiting for an offer from us…. They do love a make up story to sell a few rags..!

  3. W.A.T.H says:

We will hear they tried very hard to buy right up til the last minute…. the quality was not there… I have faith in this squad… We all know the excuses…! I say we’ll get no one as well but i so hope to be proved wrong.

  4. Kevvy says:

I’m not sure anyone arrived in Newcastle yesterday, the weather was so bad. We needed some new blood at the start of January before we played Man City and Chelsea, especially as Arteta got injured. I can only assume Wenger is not going to buy again. How sad is it that we are reduced to hoping that a no show for a medical might mean a signing for us!

  5. gunnerdna says:

The Crystal Palace player, who is said to be close to joining Manchester United, was repeatedly linked with Arsenal but Wenger said
‘If Zaha goes to United, good luck to him. We were never in for him, never.
Asked then about potential targets Wenger said that he was looking to bring in two players and added
“I will not give you any names. We are working very hard.”
He was also asked about Mo Diame to which he replied
‘He has a great presence in the games, I have seen him have a big impact’

  6. W.A.T.H says:

It’s laughable eh Kevvy, I thought the weather was probably the reason but as you say we then wishing it’s true that we have made a last minute bid. So much for moving from Highbury to compete with the worlds best and to buy the worlds best players. The board failed to mention and to line our pockets and rip the fans off.

  7. devilgunner says:

Good Morning my Esteemed Fellow Gunners.

Watty is taking care of the ship today it seems!!!! Goody for you mate….although I miss the Lady and her steady and kind hand. Hope she is ok!

Lacking in confidence are they? Are they confident enough to lift their hand to take their paycheque? Oh wait. AFC deposit it in the bank for them. Well they should employ a fan a day to give the cheques to the players. I would be the first one in the queue to hand the players their cheques……….with some expletives on how they should perform as well.

More like lacking a professional demanour and laziness.

They all have a BA (Honours). That is not a university degree. But BAD ATTITUDE.

  8. sam says:

The last couple of years proved that when it comes to transfer, Arsenal are extremely unorganised lot. They have always adopted the policy of management by crisis and this window is no different. It is obvious for almost everybody what Arsenal’s weaknesses are, and one doesn’t need a rocket science to point these out. My feelings are as such, Arsenal are floating those rumours about signing this player or that to delude fans that they are genuinely serious but in reality they are not serious at all!

  9. devilgunner says:

The relationship between many AFC fans and AW is that similiar to what once was a beautiful couple but now are no longer the same. Yes we, and that means also me, used to idolise AW. But now that relationship has ended. Its like the moment of divorce. ITs not divorce which destroys a marriage. Divorce merely puts it black on white. That marriage has long been destroyed.

And the same with AW. When he walks off its not the end of a beautiful relationship. That relationship has long been destroyed. And trust is no longer there whatever he may do to end it. No. Not even signing Messi and Ronaldo. They will become useless like the rest of the players who are there at the moment.

  10. W.A.T.H says:

No idea Gdna… Think we have said on here many times say nothing rather than talk shit… Yet it seems we’ve been sold the looking at 2 players line again and working very hard….!

Was Zaha comments so the mancs ended up paying more…? lol

  11. Scott from Oz says:

Devil, sometimes divorce is the result of people forgetting why they were in love in the first place though, and need reminding.
It is Wengers last chance to remind us.
    Morning all.

  12. devilgunner says:

I think it that way WATTY. To push up the price of ZAHA. Pity he did not go for him. That would have made him the 7th Brit in the team.

  13. devilgunner says:

He will never take the chance Scott. He is too stubborn for that. He is so intransigent in his methods that now whatever chance he is given he will still fail.

  14. southyorkshiregunner says:

According to the bookies we aren’t close to signing anyone – the nearest they have us to is Cavani at 13/8 and that appears as realistic as Diaby picking up the 2013 PFA Player of the Year.

  15. devilgunner says:

But does AW hate you ……… Mr Ihate Arsene Wenger?

I still think he will take the piss out of you and all of us, whether you love him or hate him.

  16. Scott from Oz says:

Defil, i now raise the same argument as always…..what restrictions is he working under?
Once i get proof that Wenger truly is the master at the club, king of the castle and ultimate decision maker, i will start to blame him for everything wrong at the club.
Until then, i continue to blame the board.

  17. southyorkshiregunner says:

Hiya DG. Someone posted a YouTube compilation of zaha on here a few days ago. I think he did about 100 step overs v’s Sheffield Wednesday. We can only drool about him and Gervais in the same side.

  18. W.A.T.H says:

If he is not to blame Scott then he is the biggest hypocrite of all time…! For being as complicit as they are…!

Take all that out of the equation he is the one who has bought the players the last 7/8 years… he is the one who trains them sticks by them plays the formations and settles on the tactics…? thats all tits up as well so where does that put us… In pretty big shit I would say.

I will again say as have said before Aw leaving for me will solve nothing IF the board stays the same. The board needs to go first only then will we find out exactly how much blame Wenger needs to shoulder as well.

  19. southyorkshiregunner says:

Wenger: Arsenal never in for Zaha
    ESPN staff

Arsene Wenger has denied that Arsenal are interested in Crystal Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha, as Manchester United look set to complete a deal for the player.
Zaha, 20, has attracted the attention of the top clubs in England and is viewed as one of the most talented midfielders of his generation.
However, while reports suggest that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has opted out of a four-day training trip to Doha in order to tie up a deal worth £12 million, Wenger has claimed that he was never interested.
“If Zaha goes to Man Utd, good luck to him,” Wenger told a press conference on Tuesday. “We were never in for him. Never.”
Arsenal are still looking to bring in two players in January, with French trio Yann M’Vila, Yoann Gourcuff and Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue all linked in recent weeks.
Wenger, though, refused to reveal who has taken his interest, saying: “I will not give you any names. We are working very hard.”

  20. W.A.T.H says:

There you go SYG, least someone is working very hard lol……

You just knew that comment would pop up at some point… !

  21. gunnerdna says:

AW told reporters: “These players care as much [as the likes of Adams, Henry], maybe even more.” Stop from living in the pass those players are history…

  22. emma says:

I never rated zaha. We ve got Joel Campbell who is on loan to Betis. This lad is a dynamite. He had another good game yesterday

  23. W.A.T.H says:

Is he a proper winger though Emma or a striker…? We still lack width. Not saying Zaha was an option or an answer but why then does AW open his trap last week which then frustrates many fans…? most are sensitive and need a lift so comments like that deflate people when they then think same ole same ole we in for no one..!

  24. Kevvy says:

We probably aren’t close to signing anyone because we aren’t trying. At other clubs, the Coach identifies the players he wants and a trained negotiator goes and does the deal. We used to have one of these, David Dein! Unfortunately Arsene won’t let anyone else get too involved in such dealings which is why so many take so long to do or fall apart at the last minute. Remember Asharvin’s deal took place after the deadline, and Schwarzer seemed done only to fall apart right at the end.
We needed to get our business done early before we played Chelsea and Man City. It was disgraceful for us to be relying on Asharvin at Stamford Bridge. Now Coquelin is injured for the West Ham match, a must win! The whole situation is a joke.

  25. gunnerdna says:

@W.H.A.T he is insane, they care more because they pay him money when they fuck up, other than them loosing their place in the squad.

  26. devilgunner says:

I did not say he is to blame Scott. I said that the relationship has turned so much sour that now it is impossible to repair. Whether he is to blame or not is another issue which has been discussed so much that is making us feel so nauseatic that we dont have enough left to vomit. And it does make one feel a bit stale no.

I would like him to succeed at least to spite some of those who attack him as a person (which I do not like. I prefer to attack his actions) but honestly I can never see him manage to be successful again.

Unless we end the season as Champions League winners and put the scum out of their misery of a top four club once and for all.

  27. emma says:

Wath – He is a left footed player, technically astute and very pacy. Plays both on the wings and as a striker. He is very very good. I just hope arsenal are able to sort his visa so he can come in next season

  28. Kevvy says:

Emma, is that the Joel Campbell we can’t get a work permit for? The world is full of promising Arsenal youngsters on loan. We thought Carlos Vela was going to be great, Ryo cant get into the team at Wigan! How is Wellington doing? Brand ambassador for Pizza Hut I hear.

  29. Scott from Oz says:

Chelski have spent an absolute fortune, and are third….miles behind the two Manchester sides!
Can everyone stop carrying on about other clubs have identified and purchased players they need and just ell us all…..who have Chelski signed??

  30. gunnerdna says:

Someone sent this to me just now… more delusionary stuff…TEAM NEWS: Coquelin out with hamstring injury, Podolski and Oxlade-Chamberlain could returnWenger; ‘We missed the start of the [last two] games. We have to respond, we have our backs to the wall’Wenger: ‘This is a very important game of course. We have to transfer the potential we have shown into pointsWenger: ‘These players care as much [as the likes of Adams, Henry], maybe even more’Wenger on transfers: ‘It is not the number that counts, only the quality. I won’t give you any names’Wenger: ‘What’s worrying is that we don’t win the big games, the points difference [to Spurs] is not dramaticWenger on Arteta: ‘He is still out. We are short in that position, Mikel is a player who gives us stability’Wenger on Zaha: ‘We were never in for him, never’ – WTFFFFFF?!!? Said we were?!?!Wenger on Diame: ‘He has a great presence in the games, I have seen him have a big impact’

  31. W.A.T.H says:

Think this year on loan again Emma means he’ll get a permit for next year as the internationals played will kick in to give him more that 75% in the last 24 months..!

  32. Scott from Oz says:

Kevvy, maybe you need to ask the relevant people why it is some clubs never have problems with work permits.

  33. emma says:

Kevvy – This lad is different. When he started with Betis he wasn’t a regular but now he is first on the team sheet. I will upload his yesterday’s performance on Youtube when I finish editing the video

  34. W.A.T.H says:

That has to be up there with his best ever most dumbest comments… They care more than Adams do they…. There really is no answer to that.

Scott, most will say the Chavs spent fortunes over the last decade and again in the summer to get rid of their over aged squad, if we had done proper business in the summer we would not be needing players this Jan…! We all know who and what we need the question is will the club deliver..?

  35. Scott from Oz says:

Can anyone at all show me a quote from Wenger saying we are negotiating with Zaha or Crystal Palace please?
Not some media scoop, or an “insider”, just an actual quote from Wenger.
Not interest, not looking, not liking….NEGOTIATING!!

  36. Kevvy says:

You only have problems with work permits when you shop in the bargain basement, and buy players without international pedigree.

  37. Bradster says:

    Morning all,

Looks like youth promotion seeing that we’re thread bare on the bench. Isn’t Miyacchi back from loan?
At least we can use that boy, even for 30 mins.
If Ox is back he needs to be told he’s not Walcott and needs to track back and put in tackles.
Great to see Arteta back this week, wonder when he’ll play.

  38. southyorkshiregunner says:

Chelsea signed Mata, Cahill and Hazard all of whom were heavily linked with us. They also bolsted their side with Oscar in summer.

Last year they won the Champions League and FA Cup.

  39. Scott from Oz says:

Kevvy, on the work permits, that isn’t true.
We hae issues every season, yet some clubs sign players of similar pedigree and have no problems.

  40. tsGH says:

    Morning all…

A fine write up Sir Steve…

Zaha for that price would have been like buying a young Yao as SYG rightly said.

For that price I would go for 3 Tom Inces(es). He looks like a fighter and is efficient. No need for stepping over a ball if you can just shoot.

Anyway I am certain Gouchuff will arrive in next week. Le Coq is pulling a fast one because he does not want to go back to France as part of a deal even though he has periodically claimed he wants to go back. The London Lights ehhh?

Yao Gerv was also meant to go according to rumours to OM but again he has refused to leave London.

  41. W.A.T.H says:

Least Yennaris training again as well….. Another who will run through a brick wall for you in his Arsenal shirt….!

  42. Scott from Oz says:

Syg, the only one we went hard at was Mata….god knows what happened there.
I still find it amazing that the 6th best side in England can be the best in Europe……is there something wrong with that scenario?

  43. Kevvy says:

Emma, I’ve seen the videos, he may be very good, but he can’t solve our problems in front of goal now! Wenger needs a marquis signing to give the squad a boost and bring something new to the squad. A bit like Asharvin did 4 years ago. I don’t think Zaha would be the right one, but it’s a shame we aren’t even considering him.

  44. emma says:

Dont know why we have issues with that at arsenal. Manure and chavs don’t seem to have such problems. Could it be ££££$$$?

  45. wale says:

arsenal needs more good player dan any other club in europe bs of her pedigree but instead of our economist to buy a very good player he would rather experiment on d old player.let me tell u all arsenal fans across d globe arsen was not planning to buy any player n he has asume that arsenal would defeat mancity n chelsea.

  46. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, you’ll find we didn’t really go hard at Mata, we wanted Santi and thought it was done so enquired after Mata but when Malaga came in for Santi it blew our deal out the water and by which time we’d then lost out on Mata…! Eggs in one basket scenario again…!

  47. Scott from Oz says:

Should we bite the bullet and play Yennaris, Frimpong, Ox, Jenks and Eisfeld?
We are treading water anyway, so why not make it count for the future and blood these kids??

  48. tsGH says:

Emma I only saw the last 15 mins of Betis match. How was Joel?

Ryo needs to get back to Colney. Aneke is pulling trees at Crewe but his loan is over so will he be the Young Yaya for us in the centre of the park.

It appears it may be Frimps and Diabolic in midfield tomorrow with Le Coq ‘faking’ his latest….

I love AW but he is not ruthless when he has to be…

  49. devilgunner says:

Emma et al………..the chavs and Manure do like to lick big ***ks that is why they never have problems with visas.

  50. W.A.T.H says:

Tom Ince is a very good option Ts and he also an Arsenal fan…! A proper winger with fire in his belly as well.

  51. W.A.T.H says:

Yennaris only started training again Saturday Scott, he not ready to play. Miguel also just back from injury.

  52. southyorkshiregunner says:

Hiya Ginge. Enlightening post at 10:39 am

what’s the story re: Coquelin and Gervais? That would be interesting if we could get them out of the door.

  53. emma says:

kevvy – couldn’t agree with you more. Like I said Wenger will loose my support by feb1 if we don’t bring in reinforcement.

  54. Scott from Oz says:

Wath, you see my point though…bugger the top dollar boys, get the kids in and see where some effort and resolve takes us.
    They are our future.

  55. Kevvy says:

If certain teams don’t seem to have problems getting Visas, does anyone think they won’t get around the FFP regulations?

  56. tsGH says:

WATH I thought both Mata and SC19 deals were to do with lack of cash because Barca did not want to pay the a huge cash up front?

The best news thus far is your revelation that the future of our midfield Yennaris is back! Is any privvy to why over the last 3 years he always goes down ill over the winter period?

  57. emma says:

tsGH – Campbell did very well yesterday. Way better than Zaha I must say. Miyaichi has being out injured for over 4months(arsenal DNA). Heard he will be back playing within 2 weeks

  58. W.A.T.H says:

Who says we missing out on him Scott, seems your twisting things with those beers… Wenger said last week in his presser than he was a player he liked and was looking at him and then this week says we never went for him never… Yes it’s double speak and not the same looking and buying but when we crying out for players many see that as wenger pulling the wool over fans eyes again…!
On players like that you never know what you’ve missed out on until they prove themselves in the top league.. thats of course if you ever do but back to the point, when asked last week why didn’t wenger say not comment on naming players or who we are or are not interested in… stops the question instantly.

  59. Adam says:

Me am loving di Wenger man me self. Am full up wiv de respect fur di man for him doin for de Arsenal club of champion.

  60. Musinguzi says:

I think if he leaves juggen klopp is the right replacement en am sure he won’t buy any player claiming he didn’t offers 4 the deadwood. Bring back bendtner

  61. W.A.T.H says:

Scott I’d take a few proper Arsenal lads over the ones who been going through the motions every time… The problem is they will come in under extra pressure due to other not performing…! IS that fair on them sink or swim you may say but still a lot of pressure to come up trumps.

  62. Will Win says:

Wenger will not sign anyone this January. He has already have a complete squad, with leaders like Ramsey and defensive rock in Kocielny, who needs M’biwa and Wanyama.

We didn’t play bad against Chelsea, it’s just Ramires penalty that killed that game. Other than that, Arsenal were superior in the game.

West Ham next and with Coquelin out, Ramsey and Diaby will play in the midfield. Great. Both of them are superb in losing the ball and of course, they’re like Wenger’s kinda players nowadays. Injury prone, unreliable, incompetent and of course, paid lotsa money for playing badly every week.

The fact is now, with the squad and a senile and arrogant manager like Wenger, all we can hope for is not to be relegated this season. Munich will slaughter us, Brighton will beat us and of course Liverpool’s Suarez will run riot against useless Arsenal defenders.

  63. Kevvy says:

Scott, Uefa don’t have the balls to get going with going with goal line technology, they certainly wont have the stomach for taking on Sheikh Mansoor and Roman Ambramovich in court.

  64. Scott from Oz says:

Wath, every player we are rumoured to be in for is a miss when they sign elsewhere.
The only pressure on kids would be from Gooners demanding success each week.
How would fans cope with a period of rebuilding?
Don’t say we have done that for 8 years, because it is not true.
As i said, we have been treading water for that time…..just doing enough to keep our head above water, but going nowhere.
Could we fans handle two seasons of mid table to give these kids a chance to grow and become a proper side?
    I doubt it.

  65. Adam says:

    Devil. Good morning old chap.
I had a long chat with my Maltese neighbour yesterday about rabbit stew and cheese pastries. He tells me there were huge hail stones there last week.

  66. Adam says:

Ya Wath me brudder i lirv de gooooolden syrup. just like me man Stun Kronkite, but I see de plonker am ere agin.

  67. JW says:

Yet another wholly negative and totally depressing post, it does no more than re-hash the same old moans and groans. Frankly I have better things to do with my time than read any more such boring and repetitive outpourings.

  68. tsGH says:

SYG, I am not going to pretend to know an insider of the club but I get bit of news from an Indian boy who hangs with some of the footballers such as the Ferdinards and Defoe etc and helps them source certain types of cars.

From what I heard both Gerv and Coq were looking to exchange their cars for LH drive cars recently…. I am probably just making a mountain out of a mole hill but…

  69. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning all, Many thanks Wath you made it readable 🙂
Many fans feel that Arsene Wenger is being blamed by everybody while many feel the board are at fault. I on the other hand feel that Wenger is his own man, if things are not going his way i can see the toys being kicked out of the pram. In my eyes Wenger is responsible, if money is being held up i believe he would walk, i feel he is a stubborn man he wants to do things his way he listens to very few people his arrogant and he has an answer for everything. He pokes his nose in other peoples business when the job at hand is getting away from him. No i dont blame the board Arsene Wenger is the big cheese and if he is not very careful he will get his ase kicked.

  70. W.A.T.H says:

Here’s the problem Scott, we should not have to cope with relying on a new load of kids when if we sold all the crap in the squad and had all the free wages available plus all the money in the bank then we can and should be buying proper players. Those kids then get integrated into a team that isn’t struggling so the pressure on them is far less. If the club had told the fans 8 years ago the truth there would be very little expectations as everyone would of known what the vision was and what the plan was…! Lies spin and bullshit have caused mega damage.

  71. W.A.T.H says:

Sorry about that JW but reality is what it is….. maybe if we had better things to discuss or a team that was performing better then there would be happier posts.

  72. Scott from Oz says:

I am off guys…..i would say keep the faith, but so few have it now….it is a rare commodity.
Arsene can restore it with some signings, but for plenty, that will not be enough.
Still, it wll be a start, and i still think 2, maybe 3 are coming.
I just hope he does’t buy a cheap arse, no hoper like Eisfeld who we all now want to invite into first team football 🙂 🙂 🙂
    Had to throw that in.
    Night all.

Tell ’em that I’ll pay their ferry fare to Calais providing it’s one-way. If Diaby fancies it, I’ll pay his as well.

  74. W.A.T.H says:

I didn’t touch it SP, proper post mate and all good valid thoughts and points in my opinion.

Ts, you missed the obvious mate… Gerv obvious cant run on the right hand side nor can he drive on the right…!

  75. Scott from Oz says:

Wath, how many of the deadwood were people complaining about when we bought them though?
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but something Wenger isn’t allowed….plenty of fans seem to use it when it suits though.
Seriously, JW is right in a way……we merely reword our same comments and opinions each and every night of late….me included.

  76. JW says:

Sorry Scott, but I would rather spend my time shovelling the snow off of my drive, it’s certainly more productive than trying to change closed minds.

  77. W.A.T.H says:

I’ve often said Scott that the reserves are over loaded and lets be honest quite a few of who we bought the last 5 years have hardly filled us with hope have they.

  78. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning JW, Yes we do seem to read the same old things, iM sorry you feel depressed mate, but you feel no more depressed than the rest of us. If Arsenal gave us good news you would be the first to read it here i can asuure you till that day comes we will continue to bang the drum untill someone does something about it . Do us all a favour and write a post that we can all smile about you will get my vote.

  79. tsGH says:

Scott, I love a fight but some times I think it is better to let go sometimes…Personally, I get very tired of re-typing the same thing every day.

I respect when someone takes time out to write a post because on the 3 or 4 times I have written posts it has taken we at least 2 hours to be able to put things together.

On the other hand I do not have to agree especially when people choose to forget that the so called legends who gave a shite were bought for peanuts and made into stars.

And AW is not the reason why we do not buy stars because apart from DB10 we have never ever bought stars…

  80. W.A.T.H says:

If we want to be positive and ignore whats in front of our noses maybe we should watch dvd’s from yester year and ignore whats going on now then. Least we can do happy posts and all gloat about how good we used to be…!

You can’t really discuss things that are not real… the state of the team is the here and now and it’s real, it’s happening. If some want to ignore that and pull the wool over their eyes thats their choice.

  81. Adam says:

I thought that the comedy had gone when Eboue left, but I am delighted to say that the tradition continues with Gervinho though his double act with Chamakh looks like it is on hold for a while. A great shame as the tactic of beating the opposition by leaving their defenders in stitches was starting to look promising.

  82. W.A.T.H says:

I get sick of re-typing the same thing every day as well Ts, if only my team gave me something decent to type…. Effort would be a grand start…!

  83. Adam says:

Wath. I agree. Comparing 10 years ago with now is daft as is thinking that something that worked then will work now. For those who think that way I might suggest a daily dose of Untold where everything, including the recession and the snow is the fault of that insufferable shithead Mike Riley and the corrupt referees. HH is quite a unique blog actually. We have a laugh while there is a general acknowledgement of the stark realities we face. It has the whiff of social media about it and this obviously means that not everybody will agree with each other. The best lesson I learnt online was to ignore the twats and hope they ignore you. It is part and parcel of blog life and the reason why I do read Le Grove posts occasionally but never the responses as I find them depressing and disrespectful.

  84. devilgunner says:

Watty can you kindly forward to Adam the photo I sent you of Malta covered with snow last week? Thanks

Besides the snow we also had hail Adam. The insurance companies are up to their necks in it mate. At least, the two cars which I restored, the Escort and the Lada were safe inside during the hail storm. Snow I can handle as it floats. But hail is another matter

  85. devilgunner says:

Miracle. Miracle. Adam has become sane in a matter of minutes just a moment after he was under the effect of brandy. I was told that alcohol takes around 24 hrs to start diminishing and around three days to go out of your system. But Adam must be a sort of super man. Well done mate.

  87. Adam says:

Devil. It’s my morning shot of crack. It does me in completely every day. I started it again after our recent victories against Chelsea and Man City.

  88. W.A.T.H says:

I’ll forward to him now Dev not a problem…..!

People see things for what they want Adam, some see reality as being something they don’t want to accept as it’s not what they want to feel when it’s not good. If reality is that things are not well it’s not negative it’s dealing with it. Our team is what it is and at this moment in time there are many things wrong and many questions to be answered but we don’t get many answers just more questions as performances don’t seem to change much.

  89. potter says:

it’s certainly more productive than trying to change closed minds.

JW some of us could say the same ,And Ts I agree that buying tailor made has never been Arsenal’s forte but all I want them to do is bring in something to plug the obvious holes we have at the moment.I have long argued that we tend to buy players for their ability and try to mould them to the masterplan as opposed to looking at the problem and trying to solve it.

  90. W.A.T.H says:

Morning Potter, the square pegs round holes scenario….! Buy a player to change them instead of buying a player to fit… wouldn’t that be novel.

  91. Adam says:

Wath. I think you have a tremendous future, when all the money runs out, as a marriage guidance councillor. You could have guided me through several divorces 🙂
You are of course, horribly right,

  92. devilgunner says:

One you can mould. Maybe two. But certainly not more. You cannot have 5 defenders and 5 attackers in the same team…which is basically what AW is trying to do. He wants 5 players who are defenders who can change positions and defend and 5 attackers who can interchange at will and fit in any attacking positions. If it was 5 footballing defenders and 5 footballing attackers then fine. But we simply do not have them. So its idiotic to say that such system will work. It never did and it never will. It simply makes everyone confused in what each is supposed to do.

  93. W.A.T.H says:

Wait til you get my bill Adam i do take a nice comm % on the divorce obviously… mates rates for you though…! 😉

  94. W.A.T.H says:

Makes everyone confused…. you saying footballers are thick Dev….
Or is it us the fans who get confused…. I think I need some of that stuff Adam is on…!

  95. devilgunner says:

No not thick WATTY, although some of them surely are. However having 10 footballers on the pitch and you expect them to make certain decisions in the heat of the moment without training it beforehand will make even the most astute player confused.

And please do not confuse footballers with players WATTY. We have many players but only one or two footballers at the moment.

  96. W.A.T.H says:

Don’t worry about that Dev, I know who’s what, huge huge difference between the two although a lot would have no idea what your on about..!

  97. stevepalmer1 says:

This crack stuff sounds the business so i thought i’de have some feel a bit better now, but the beds in a right state, looked out and its all lovely and white so thought i’de go and mingle in it for a bit, walked down my path and slipped over and the white stuff is fffing freezing picked myself up all bruised and battered and am now rubbing my wounds and feeling like i want to write another post. sod that crack she can keep it 🙂

  98. devilgunner says:

only the enlightened few know the difference Watty. Cesc was a footballer, RVP was, Nasri (love him or hatehim) was. Adebayor and Squilly are another story though 😉 Are they honestly even players?

  99. devilgunner says:

There you have it……….from PHW favourite mouth piece. So put your bets on him ………….

FORMER Chelsea and Tottenham star Gus Poyet has claimed he wants to become Arsenal’s next manager.

The Uruguayan has the chance to pile more pressure on current boss Arsene Wenger, when his Brighton side host the Gunners in an FA Cup clash on Saturday.

With Wenger recently admitting Arsenal face a struggle to qualify for next season’s Champions League, missing out on another cup competition could increase calls for the Frenchman to finally end his reign at the Emirates.

Earlier this term, Arsenal suffered an embarrassing loss to League Two side Bradford in the Capital One Cup, to add to their poor league form.

And the ambitious Poyet sees no reason why he couldn’t one day take over from Wenger.

Before becoming Brighton boss, the 45-year-old previously enjoyed a successful playing career at London rivals Chelsea and Spurs.

“I want to manage at the highest level and would love to manage Chelsea or Arsenal. Why not?” he told the Evening Standard.

“Does my Chelsea or Tottenham past mean I cannot be Arsenal manager?”

  100. devilgunner says:

Arsene Wenger is set to make a final check on the West Ham midfielder on Wednesday night before giving the go-ahead for the Gunners to trigger the £3.5 million release clause in his contract.
Arsenal face competition from Tottenham and a string of other Premier League clubs in the race for the Senegal international, who has been offered an improved contract by the Hammers but has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.

The north Londoners have registered their interest in Diame after Goal.com revealed the club had identified him as a target in early December.

At his media briefing on Tuesday morning ahead of Arsenal’s home match against West Ham, Wenger admitted he is an admirer of the midfield powerhouse.

“He has a great presence in the games, I have seen him have a big impact,” said Wenger.

  111. W.A.T.H says:

We can have footballers without thinking of those Dev, there are plenty out there still and a lot with heart and fight..!

  112. Adam says:

From The Daily Dickhead .Arsene Wenger is fervently hoping that another club, probably Spurs, come in and buy Diame while he ponders a move. Wenger has, in recent years, turned pondering into something of an art form after achieving a Pondering degree from Strasbourg University many years ago. Wenger claimed earlier that while totally rejects press criticism of his side’s recent performances, he is pondering a fuller response.

Arsene Wenger has a decision to make over Abou Diaby

    • Wenger: Arsenal have character

With Mikel Arteta still injured and Francis Coquelin having suffered a hamstring problem in the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday, Wenger will now have to decide whether to start Abou Diaby, who is himself not fully fit. Wenger revealed that the player has pushed himself to the limit after having come back from a three-month injury, and is now in need of a rest. That, however, would leave Arsenal short of players who can fill in there.

“We have [an issue there], I agree, and it is a position where we are short,” Wenger said. “Anyway, we are short when Arteta is not there because he is a player with a lot of experience. He gives us stability and you could see that in the last two games. It is a position where we are a bit vulnerable at the moment.

“Diaby is one of the guys I will have to check today. He started… you could see that he was not completely physically fresh from the start on. He did dig deep on Sunday to do what he did. He played four games on the trot having been out for three months, and I will have to check him today.”

Should the midfielder not be capable of starting, Wenger said, “that’s a problem I will have to sort out”.

Wenger did confirm, though, that Lukas Podolski and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have returned to full training after recent illnesses.

“Everybody else has to be assessed today, individually, but there is no major injury. Podolski is back in the squad because he’s back to full training today and maybe Chamberlain [will be] back in the squad. He has been sick but maybe [he will] go out today and practise. [Podolski] was sick, in bed, but in full training today.”

  115. rockyrocastle07 says:

Does anyone actually think that Afobe and Aneke will ever play for the first team? They’ve been banded around for years now and still nothing.

  116. Adam says:

Lee. Strange that. The other day we weren’t going to buy a midfielder as we were overloaded in that area. I must say I am shocked that our players could sustain injuries. I must ponder the situation further.

  117. Lee says:

Apparently Warwick Davis has just completed his medical and is about to sign on the dotted line! All our DM worries are behind us now…..

  118. allezkev says:

Looking forward to Diaby breaking down during the West Ham game…

  119. allezkev says:

Juventus are ready to rival Arsenal for the signature of Barcelona ace David Villa, according to reports in Spain.

The Italian giants are in the market for a new striker as they look to tighten their grip on a second consecutive league crown, with Athletico Bilbao’s Fernando Llorente expected to join them before the end of the window.

However, with Bilbao playing hardball over a fee, Juve may be forced to wait until the end of the season to land the man with just six months left on his current contract.

Juve general manager, Giuseppe Marotta, recently said: ‘If we find an oppourtunity to improve the team that won the championship, we will recruit in the January market.’

One of those ‘oppourtunities’ is said to be Villa, and Spanish reports claim the Italians have already contacted Barca over the forward, who is weighing up a move away from the Nou Camp.

Villa, 31, has struggled to regain a regular place in the Catalans’ starting XI since breaking his leg last year, but is still highly regarded at the club, and Barca would be loath to offload the striker for anything less than £10million.

That figure appears to have put off Arsenal, who are also understood to be tracking the star, and Juve will likely want clarification on their pursuit of Llorente before making a final decision on whether to bid for Villa.

  120. allezkev says:

    TEAM NEWS
Arsenal welcome back Lukas Podolski and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, both of whom missed Sunday’s defeat at Chelsea through illness.

However, the Gunners are short of midfield options, with Abou Diaby doubtful (thigh) and Francis Coquelin (hamstring) ruled out.

  121. allezkev says:

Arsene Wenger admits he is worried by the inconsistent form that has left Arsenal seven points adrift of a Champions League spot. After back-to-back defeats to Manchester City and Chelsea, the Frenchman concedes that his side just “do not win the big games”.

The Gunners have indeed won only once against a side currently above them in the table. That means it is doubly important they develop a ruthless streak against clubs in the bottom half.

    Misfiring Gunners
Arsenal have 34 points from 22 league matches – their lowest at this stage under Arsene Wenger.

“The position we are in now is a bit backs to the wall because we have to respond,” Wenger admits.

“I’m confident we will, but the team was very down after the Chelsea game.”

  122. emma says:

  132. stevepalmer1 says:

The trouble is if we buy experience early it sends shock waves through the players who currently play, that could cause them to want a move. at least a late buy means that the players have to sit for six months before they assess themselves. but if the deal falls flat they also know he’s looking. I would think that the message would tell them to pull their fingers out, i bet their confidence would build just that little bit quicker. Surely he has to buy he realy has no option.

    Alan Pardew the hypocrite.

Alan Pardew after Arsenal beat Real Madrid in 2006

“I saw a headline saying Arsenal are flying the flag for Britain in the Champions League, but I had to wonder where that British involvement was when I saw the team,” he said after Arsenal had put out the Spanish outfit with a side consisting again entirely of foreign players.

“The foreign players and coaches have added massively to the game, but we are losing the soul of British football and English players should be integrated into the teams.”

It was a valid point from the West Ham boss, but it brought a stinging response from a Gunners’ manager who is more used to verbal jousts with the likes of Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho.

“It is really disappointing for two reasons,” snapped the Frenchman. “First we are trying to kick racism out of football and I think racism starts with that sort of remark and second, when you’re a manager you want to accept a technical opinion but not remark.

“It’s very, very disappointing to hear that because it’s a regressive way of thinking.”

  137. Lee says:

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott claims the club is getting better every year and insists his side should not panic in its bid to secure a Champions League place this season.

After suffering a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Arsene Wenger’s men now sit sixth in the Premier League, seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham and nine behind Rafa Benitez’s side, which is in third.

The 23-year-old finally signed a new long-term deal with Arsenal last week after months of speculation and the England international claims the improvement of the squad persuaded him to commit to the club, reports Goal.com.

“I signed my new contract because I believe this team is getting better and we don’t want to be standing still,” Walcott told reporters.

“We’ve got to start clocking up points fast. We were out of the top four for quite a while last year as well and still managed to finish third, so we can’t start worrying about what Spurs are doing.”

Despite suggesting the personnel in Wenger’s squad has improved, Walcott concedes the players lack confidence and has urged his teammates to start stronger in matches after goals from Juan Mata and Frank Lampard saw Arsenal trail after just 16 minutes in Sunday’s defeat.

“I think there’s a lack of belief here. We need to start realizing just how good we are. We’ve got some very, very good players but some of them don’t believe they are good enough at times,” Walcott said.

“We showed some great stuff in the second half at Chelsea and that didn’t surprise me. But we can’t be coming out of the blocks as slowly as we have done.

“As soon as we pressurized Chelsea after the break we showed what we can do. But we need to play like that for 90 minutes, not just the second half.”

  138. stevepalmer1 says:

Theo must have said that with a smile on his face after recieving £90,000 a week, while Sagna was left on his own as right back and right wing and he’s on £60, 000

Back to Lidls again then it seems and acting like paupers instead of showing that ambition in the transfer market thats been lacking for years.

  143. Gunnerdna says:

Lee AW i don’t trust AW to do anything in world football it’s whatever. I was just saying if AW is interested in Diame why loose to WH before he gets him.

  144. DutchGooner10 says:

Would Arsene ever send his squad on training camp miles from his nose and stay in head office himself?

Fergie does. He doesn’t need to hold hands. Arsene want confidence? Stop being a father figure. Some players are beyond teenage years. They are not moody, they lack responsibility.

(ManU on training camp in Qatar, Red nose sticks to old toilet if his presence is required to sort any businesses).

DNA, re your 2.21 – Exactly. You just know that he will hurt us, probably scoring the winner before joining us the following day.

  150. Gunnerdna says:

Rocky something drastic need to be done because this has become embarrassing, the guy action shows he doesn’t give a rats ass, it either his way or no way.

  151. DutchGooner10 says:

    Afternoon Steve

Indeed, alter the fundamentals if the commons ain’t working. We’re bottom feeders at best.

  152. Gunnerdna says:

SD AA23 performance was awful, when he came on it was 9 vs 10, I thought santos would be a better option, but AW have more experience than any other in world football, so I guess it was the correct decision.

  153. rockyrocastle07 says:

I especially liked AA23’s attempt to skin their full-back, only to smash the ball out of play with a terrible touch! And his hair looked terrible too.

  154. Adam says:

Fergie is older and a bitter, self centred, spiteful, egotistical, cantankerous old git but he gives Man Utd fans cause for optimism. If he wants a player he usually gets him and bugger the cost.

  155. Adam says:

Rocky, I think that was the Russian-lank version of the Stan Kroenke Commemorative Syrup that Arshavin was wearing.

  156. SD London says:

Thank you Adam , i thought it was me reacting strangely but nowadays when Arsene Wenger talks or makes selection or just appears on pages you get this strange feeling that he is not going to do or say anything that will be favorable.

How did he changed form Zaha is a good player to we were never looking at him never.

Asked if he is in the market , he said he can mention names and we have 8 days to go , 8 days.

Then I remembered 2 weeks ago he said the transfer window is strange that a times the best business are done 48hrs too the end of the window.

You see , all this just makes you feel 🙁 and i am not the only one not totally confident about the West Ham game.

    TRANSFER LATEST
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce says he is finding it tricky to bring in the defensive reinforcements he needs. “We’ve been trying in the whole of the window to try and bring in a defender, but not been able to clinch a deal yet,” he said. “That is probably because we have been looking for a short-term deal in loans, as in terms of not permanent deals.”

Squillaci Sam, Squillaci, come and get him fatso….

  160. DutchGooner10 says:

Linked players are the work of imaginative journos and/or cunning agents, right?

Well quite frankly, I would be massively embarrassed if those names where never on our scouting list to begin with.

  161. stevepalmer1 says:

Its all right Kev, we don’t want to make it worse, but he is still picking up a wage. He is probably the only loanee that Wenger would let play against us. Imagine Bendy Heading and Czez diving we could all have a laugh

All you need to do is think this 20 times a day….
“Arsenal linked with (Insert any players name in the world you can think of). Then 2 hours later, think “Arsene Wenger insists he likes the said player but isn’t looking to sign them”

  173. goonster says:

gerwanko looks good in every game the problem is the premier league sont suit him. he’s a thinker, the league is meant for bruisers like shrek, stevie me and karl henry!

  204. rockyrocastle07 says:

You serious Micko? How much would that be? I checked the season ticket prices at Stevenage recently, and they don’t look too bad.

I’m teetering on the edge rocky, I’ll snap out of it eventually, hopefully before the summer of 2014 all going well, used to do the odd game or two down at Stevenage myself a few years back, remember them playing Woking and Clive Walker didn’t half take some stick, that was there big derby match back then.

  210. eastsidepaul says:

Sick of Wenger’s yapping… yap yap yap. He will run his mouth until midnight on the 31st without a signing…
Newcastle are really making some shapes.

  211. goonster says:

  212. W.A.T.H says:

All quiet on the western front Scott apart from the shocking news that Gervinho scored for Ivory Coast, Saw it too Adam on sky now…. Pretty decent although did he know much about it lol

  213. Scott from Oz says:

    Gervinho…..aaaahhhhhh.
I am the first to admit i thought he would improve immensely the is season but alas, he is still the same nervous, anxious player he was 12 months ago.

  214. goonster says:

hahahahha WATH has chased everyone off HH, where is rico? WATH is a bad moderator. hiya scott, what’s popping?

  215. W.A.T.H says:

    Frustrating and very weird Adam.

  216. Scott from Oz says:

Not vanished Wath, just at work.
Hiya Stan…..How are things in your part of the world?
Is everyone over there naming their dog Wenger so they can give it a good kicking each morning 🙂
Still, if he signs no DM (at least) in the next week, i may well line up myself.

  217. potter says:

Hows the Camden marathon going boys ? We used to do that every Saturday , Highbury train to Belsize Park turn right , Start at the George on to the Rosslyn , King of Bo, Bird in Hand , King Will , Cruel Sea , Coach and Horses , Hollybush, Duke of Hamilton , White Bear and home . Up in the morning Hackney Marshes or The scrubs to run it off. There used to be 29 pubs in a square mile from Hampstead Heath to Belsize Park but a lot have gone to trendy wine bars. Oh I forgot The Flask. Happy days the 60’s

  218. goonster says:

hahahahahah mama wrings my balls?? are you crazy? mama is almost 60…..adam i said it before, i ll say it again, i dont think most of our players are shit. its a coaching thingy. the epl is just too fast for the likes of gervinho.

  219. Adam says:

Wath. Yeah, I know. He is just part of the package of frustration that is our old club these days. The more I listen to Wenger and watch the team, the more bewildering the whole thing seems to become. I have heard pro and con arguments but there is something really strange about Arsene these days. As I said earlier, there is just no feel-good factor from him at all any more. No new sense of drive, power or ambitious energy at all. He just seems to have set himself against the world and decided that he knows best. Don’t I remember him, a couple of years ago, going on about everybody judging him at the end of some season or other on his results. And is that what this 4th place is a trophy stuff is all about? Some sort of justification of his methods and the strange way he seems to conduct Arsenal’s business? I can think of few managers who have enjoyed such support and goodwill as he has over the years and I find it completely odd the way that he has set himself on this lonely course of action. Putting criticism aside for the moment, I look at him as a man, husband and father and can’t help but feel sorry for where he seems to be heading with all this stuff.

  220. Adam says:

Ah, The Flask. Hi Potter. I have never been a drinker myself but I know the area well as I come out of Liverpool Rd at the Highbury end. Wath knows it.

  221. potter says:

I’m sure , anyone that has done the Hampstead drinking tour will have sampled the Flask in Flask Walk. A lot of the others have now closed I am told , last time I went back home to visit friends it was hard to find a decent pint. Plenty of Caesar Salads though and the like and chardonnay on tap.

  222. Adam says:

Potter. It does seem so doesn’t it? Watching his interview today he seems vaguely irritated by everything. I know, as most of us will agree, that football has changed beyond recognition and it really makes no sense at all. The quality of the PL has dropped. There are no stand out teams. Great teams like Arsenal used to be. The best football I have seen this year has come in short bursts from Man City. When the history of this period is written I believe that Abramovich and more lately the sheikh of Man City will be seen as facilitators of the demise of the game. For me, the fact that a lot of these wanker footballers are earning nearly £1 million every few weeks is actually quite sick. But it is what it is. I see Wenger as a dinosaur, but a weirdly moral one. And I see a Kroenke as a parasite. The truth seems to be that, if you don’t spend the big bucks you probably won’t have any enduring success and your better players will be spirited away by some insanely rich individual while decent people are living on the breadline. Arsenal have all the right infrastructure in place, but no desire to spend the sort of money required. Wenger’s time is nearing an end. What happens next will be interesting and a bit scary too.

  223. Micko says:

Its all good in the hood wath.
Scott, Wenger says he’s after two players so hopefully he’ll be true to his word even if he does say it with an annoyingly stupid smirk on his face.
Potter, did you ever manage to squeeze in a game of football inbetween pints.

  224. potter says:

Kroenke a parasite , I totally agree. I often read the Denver Post on line and see comments made by supporters of the Colorado teams he owns, there is a remarkable similarity. Everywhere he has bought in has a real estate value because that’s really where his interests lie. To him The Arsenal is prime property in Central London with prospects for development ,. Just recently he purchased a large ranch in Montana and yesterday I saw that he has bought two shopping malls too
    .
Arsenal as a team will make him very little money, but the equity in the stadium and surrounding lands will drive the share price higher and make him a killing.

The football is second fiddle to that.

  225. potter says:

Micko the pints were on Saturday after the match , the football was next day, training Tuesday and Thursday surprisingly we were pretty fit as well. Couldn’t do it now though , most of the pubs have shut.

  226. Scott from Oz says:

Micko, for his sake, the clubs sake, the fans sake, i hope he does.
This will be the final straw…for me, anyway, i know most are past that…because it is so bloody obvious what we need, and there is no need to spend 50 million to do it.
If he can’t get what he needs, he either doesn’t realise it, or truly can not get the funds, but either way, this is it….get it done or get out.

  227. potter says:

But if he had gone with Usmanov it would have opened the door for David Dein to return to the club something that Fiszmann couldn’t stomach.

Adam :- no I was born in Gospel Oak and lived in Hampstead ( the lower half) until I was 21, then I lived near Barcelona for a couple of years , came back to England ,got married and found out that I could not afford London property anymore`so moved out eventually to snowy Norfolk.

  228. W.A.T.H says:

Potter, The Flask is indeed still around so too the bull and last, many others have indeed vanished over the years, Trendy wine bars gastro pubs although Steeles is still rammed out and good for live music still.

Our team is going the same way as the pubs… in decline for sure…! We’re a yank franchise owned by someone who knows nothing of football cares not for football just cares about his tangible asset and thats his share prices, They will prob peak when the tv money comes through and the new shirt sponsorship deal is signed.

  229. potter says:

The Richard Steeles that was the other way down hill to Chalk Farm. We used to train in the school opposite the station and there was another pub The load of hay which was a boxing pub and had a small hall with a ring out the back. Is that still there ?

  230. Adam says:

Potter. I know Gospel Oak well.
Yes, the whole Dein/Fiszman thing was a curious turnout. By some odd fluke I happen to know something about it through an old friend who knows both families.
I doubt whether Danny would like what is apparently going on at the moment. And of course, it was Dein who really found Wenger and helped him establish his early success. So many angles to that one.

  231. W.A.T.H says:

Steeles is still there The Hill is still there the Havistock has gone no gym though and the school you would not recognise. The load of Hay def not there lol

  232. potter says:

We will have to meet up some day , I would be curious to hear from the Horses mouth or at least close so to speak.

  233. W.A.T.H says:

Night Adam….. Take it easy mate.

    Go on Bradford….. 😀

We must plan a HH get together for a game when the sun shines Potter…!

  234. potter says:

Wath , we used to have a maniac trainer , when he was severely pissed off with us he used to make us run down to Chalk Farm and get the tube to Hampstead station and make us run up the stairs and then down the hill to the school again. As I said we were pretty fit despite the over refreshment on Saturday nights.

  235. W.A.T.H says:

Thats a decent bit of exercise that is Potter lol…. A sadist trainer as well by the sounds of it, maybe he made you lot run and nipped into the local for a swift pint…!

  236. W.A.T.H says:

I was thinking Indonesia Scott in July/August….

August in Sunny London town can be rather pleasant…!

A very well done to Bradford, shows what passion commitment and attitude can do for a team… Learn a lesson Arsenal.

Limited liability companies formed by the Kroenke Group of Columbia, Mo., controlled by Stan Kroenke, recently bought two shopping centers in Colorado Springs, Colo., for $31.5 million.

The companies purchased the 215,000-square-foot Uintah Gardens and the 84,000-square-foot Academy Place from Houston-based Weingarten Realty, the Denver Post reports.

In November, Kroenke bought a $133 million Montana ranch with nearly 5,000 cows.

Kroenke also owns the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rapids, Colorado Avalanche and the Colorado Mammoth, not to mention the St. Louis Rams and London’s Arsenal soccer team in the English Premier League. He ranked No. 358 on Forbes’ 2012 list of the world’s billionaires with a net worth of $3.2 billion.

Kroenke recently bought out partner Michael Staenberg’s interest in THF Realty, one of the region’s largest private companies with $230 million in revenue, and Kroenke has recently sued Staenberg in relation to their former partnership in THF.

    G’day Kev.
I know i fly against the wind here, but it seems blatantly obvious to me where our problem lies, and Stan is the man, unfortunately.
Arsene is making plenty of errors, but i still refuse to accept he is happy with the way things are at the club.
I might well be wrong, and i really hope the truth comes out sooner rather than later.
    Stan….just piss of, will ya??
