It’s coming to an end! If you can get through this without a tear, you don’t care!

Morning all.

It looks like the Alexis Sanchez swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan could soon be done and dusted and thank goodness for that. To be honest, I’m sick and tired of it. Sanchez, labelled a mercenary by some in the media is far from being the guy I thought he was. I thought football mattered to him above all else, but just like so many in today’s mad world of wages, he’s only about the money. Why I don’t know as it’s not like he’s poor is it? But as Merse said during the week, football transfer fees and wages are nothing more than monopoly money. Football as we all knew it back in the good old days is gone, gone forever unless Sky sports and BT Sport etc, implode.

A friend sent this video to me yesterday, it’s emotional, it’s strong and it’s heartfelt. This is what football used to be about, it’s what football and all other sport should be about but as said, those days are gone.

Enjoy the clip, enjoy remembering Wrighty as a footballer in his prime, remember Wrighty as a player for The Arsenal because I doubt you’ll see a guy with his passion for the game and our club for a long long time, if ever.

We certainly won’t see his kind of passion later today when The Arsenal take on Crystal Palace, the very club which gave Ian Wright the chance to fulfil his dreams.

And boy didn’t he take it…..

Morning Rico

I’m hearing that Welbeck is injured today, if so then why not start Eddie Nketiah on the right wing?

It’s all about the money. How much have the ‘club’ made this TW? And counting!
It’s all part of the plan to wreck the club before he goes. Wenger’s legacy……enjoy.

Morning Rico, Kev et al. A good win today will cheer us all up! I’m prepared to be disappointed, yet again, the though.

Miserable here but it is 4c, positively warm! Roll on summer.

Morning Rico and all. I won’t be disappointed if we don’t get Mikhitarian myself. He must certainly be a very talented player but, I have watched him quite a few times and I have never seen him make the difference. Not saying he hasn’t, just that I’ve never seen it. Watching that Wrighty video seem particularly poignant at this time. His story and emotion seems almost quaint by today’s mercenary standards. And this as another working class boy made good leaves to take the money and play for a psycho, our beloved club is teetering on the edge of relevance with a manager who has completely lost the trust and faith of a huge section of the fanbase but is raking in money.
I would maintain that the biggest newcomer the club need is a fresh manager who is strong enough both on and off the field and bright enough to get the fans back onside. If the club manage to keep Ozil then they should perhaps go all out for Martial. I’ve seen him make the difference.

If my respect for Ian Wright wasn’t high enough already . What an inspiration for any youngster making there way through life.
Never a mercenary just a hard working man.who new how lucky he had become and made the most of his opportunity .

Don’t worry once Raoli has taken his cut Wenger will only have chump change and the board will swallow that into the American account.

Rico. Sanchez would have played for Stalin if the money was right.

Wavy

Adam, question is would Sanchez have avoided the Gullag? That’s where he’d have ended up. Greed, avarice and self aggrandisement was in the sole gift of the politburo! He would have lost the lot, confiscated by the state and reinvested in real estate in Georgia or one of the Ukraine seaside resorts. Sanchez would have found himself mining for salt in another chilly environment.

Do you think manure will end up in the same apple art as Carillion? I believe sooner rather than later one of the big clubs in Europe will go bust and the disaster will be cataclysmic. Of course it won’t be Arsenal as we have an internationally recognised and admired sustainable business! Even sadder, if the whole game goes tits up there will be no other clubs to play or a premier league left to compete in!

Am I being too pessimistic……probably but like Crouch going to Chelsea, unbelievable though it may appear, it could happen and much sooner than we think!

There is absolutely zero chance of Arsenal getting either Rashford or Martial, it’s not worth even thinking about.

£41m eh?
That’s a great result for Kroenke.
We won’t get Aubameyang either.

The performance wasn’t that bad just typical arsenal. Great in one half and shit in the other. Just another Wenger trait that rubs off the team. The sooner he leaves the better.

He frustrates the hell out of me. Jay jay okocha’s nephew?? I don’t think so but I can live with him it’s bellerin that irks the fuck out of me. He has regressed to the point of no return. This guy can’t cross shoot or make a simple 5 yards pass. We need a new RB Rico bellerin is not cutting it for me and don’t start me off on his defending.

And gave away the inevitable goal. A six or seven would have done the power of good for morale.

Goonie , the kid is full of pace but something stops him when he gets one on one with space in front of him. It’s got to be the coaching. Lacazette and Giroud would benefit from early crosses but it’s almost as if he’s been told not to do it.

Goonster
Goonster

Potter sir he’s shit. When he broke into the scene he was taking on players and beating them for fun. He was making beckham-esque crossings and his overall play wasn’t that bad. He was 19 then and we saw a glimpse of world class about him but lately he’s been the worse arsenal player I ve seen in a while.

If you believe Paul Merson , and why would you , Wenger wants to replace Wilshere with Maitland Niles which is why he is buggering about on the contract renewal. He wants Jack to leave but make it look as if it’s all Jack’s doing.

Can’t find that anywhere too Rico. Hopefully it ‘ll be announced soon and we all can go back to what really matters. Football. Heard we had our first bid for auba turned down. It wasn’t far off from what Dortmund are requesting for so hopefully we ‘ll go back with a better offer. Let’s wrap this up real quick.

Evening all and thank you Rico…………………and thanks for making my eyes sweat !

Yes we won, but why no Alexis in the team , he`s still our player isn`t he ?

For once I agree with Wenger……….about Manshafter, they may have a debt, but so do we, they are manageable ones, theirs is £261M according to a news report. well thats nothing to the juggernault money making machine that they are as their revenue is massive !

Same report says Arsenal`s debt is £6M………..these accounts are from August 2016 for all on this report…………………….nothing stated for Chavs, but they were loaned £1.14B from Roman !……………………nothing stated for Bindippers, but they have a bank loan of £55M and FSG loan of £110M………………………………………Mansour City……£11M debt…………………The Sheiks have invested £1.21B in the club since take over upto 2016…………………………………….yes I cant resist it……………..Kroenke has invested £0

Contradicting Lee`s 10:02am………………………………………..Wenger says Alexis transfer will only happen if Mkhitryan comes to us !…………………….so Kroenke will be gutted for 41 million reasons !

I only think it is a good TW if we get PEA, just swapping Alexis for Mkhitryan would be us losing the better player, it needs PEA aswell to make it better.
I think we will get PEA or someone else as Wenger knows he is in the last chance saloon in trying to win us fans over, he knows losing Alexis and just getting Mkhitryan is not good enough with top 4 looking less unlikely unless someone above us emplodes and winning EL is only just less harder than winning CL, so no CL next year is more likely than getting it, he needs to keep us fans off his back and knows only quality signings will go some way to appeasing us as he`s up to his neck in it !
A great window would have been Alexis and Ozil re-signing, PEA, a top DM and a top defender !

Adam

Morning Rico and all. The no-plan plan has paid considerable dividends since its introduction alongside the no-defence defence. It’s just these unwanted transfer windows that get in the way.

Adam

Rico. I may be wrong, but it does seem that events are controlling Wenger as opposed to the other way round.

Adam
Adam

Rico. We don’t know how Mkhitaryan will work out but, as I said yesterday, I haven’t seen much from him and he has done very little at MU. At this moment this seems to me like a much better deal for them than us. But, perhaps Wenger will get more out of him. As for Alexis? Nobody moves to a Mourinho team to become a better footballer. A couple of million a month is a massive incentive.
