Morning all.
It looks like the Alexis Sanchez swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan could soon be done and dusted and thank goodness for that. To be honest, I’m sick and tired of it. Sanchez, labelled a mercenary by some in the media is far from being the guy I thought he was. I thought football mattered to him above all else, but just like so many in today’s mad world of wages, he’s only about the money. Why I don’t know as it’s not like he’s poor is it? But as Merse said during the week, football transfer fees and wages are nothing more than monopoly money. Football as we all knew it back in the good old days is gone, gone forever unless Sky sports and BT Sport etc, implode.
A friend sent this video to me yesterday, it’s emotional, it’s strong and it’s heartfelt. This is what football used to be about, it’s what football and all other sport should be about but as said, those days are gone.
Enjoy the clip, enjoy remembering Wrighty as a footballer in his prime, remember Wrighty as a player for The Arsenal because I doubt you’ll see a guy with his passion for the game and our club for a long long time, if ever.
We certainly won’t see his kind of passion later today when The Arsenal take on Crystal Palace, the very club which gave Ian Wright the chance to fulfil his dreams.
And boy didn’t he take it…..
Morning Rico
I’m hearing that Welbeck is injured today, if so then why not start Eddie Nketiah on the right wing?
BREAKING
Quick update.Sanchez in Manchester to undertake his medical I understand no player exchange now as Arsenal decided on straight cash £41 million for the player good deal for the club financially not so good for the team
John Cross
Morning Kev, Lee and all.
Or Nelson Kev, or Perez if we still had him…
It’s all about the money. How much have the ‘club’ made this TW? And counting!
It’s all part of the plan to wreck the club before he goes. Wenger’s legacy……enjoy.
Morning Rico, Kev et al. A good win today will cheer us all up! I’m prepared to be disappointed, yet again, the though.
Miserable here but it is 4c, positively warm! Roll on summer.
Wenger with £41 illion is not to be trusted!
Morning Wavy, I fully expect Hodgson to get one over Wenger too..
Mornig all!
Charlie Nicholas is right. It’s just my opinion.
When I can replace AW?
Morning Rico and all. I won’t be disappointed if we don’t get Mikhitarian myself. He must certainly be a very talented player but, I have watched him quite a few times and I have never seen him make the difference. Not saying he hasn’t, just that I’ve never seen it. Watching that Wrighty video seem particularly poignant at this time. His story and emotion seems almost quaint by today’s mercenary standards. And this as another working class boy made good leaves to take the money and play for a psycho, our beloved club is teetering on the edge of relevance with a manager who has completely lost the trust and faith of a huge section of the fanbase but is raking in money.
I would maintain that the biggest newcomer the club need is a fresh manager who is strong enough both on and off the field and bright enough to get the fans back onside. If the club manage to keep Ozil then they should perhaps go all out for Martial. I’ve seen him make the difference.
If my respect for Ian Wright wasn’t high enough already . What an inspiration for any youngster making there way through life.
Never a mercenary just a hard working man.who new how lucky he had become and made the most of his opportunity .
Awesome! Sanchez hang your head in shame. Thanks Rico.
Don’t worry once Raoli has taken his cut Wenger will only have chump change and the board will swallow that into the American account.
Morning Adam.
I wouldn’t be too disappointed either and like you, I’d much rather we fought tooth and nail to get Martial. Rashford even, as he’ll score goals.
I admire Pep for backing out of the Sanchez deal, and in all honesty, I thought he would. He wanted him in the summer but since then, he has a settled team, a strong team and Alexis has hardly sold himself to Pep this season. Why anyone would want to play for Mourinho is almost as hard to understand as why they’d want to play for Wenger.
Jm, not quick enough that’s for sure.
Welcome Graham, well put. Wrighty is class which is why so many of love him and what he brought with him. Fun, cheeky, entertaining but above all, a humble guy who just wanted to play football and thankfully he was ours for a while.
He get’s knocked a lot these days for what he say’s on TV, but imo, he speaks as a fan because he cares about the club he loves.
Rico. Sanchez would have played for Stalin if the money was right.
Adam, question is would Sanchez have avoided the Gullag? That’s where he’d have ended up. Greed, avarice and self aggrandisement was in the sole gift of the politburo! He would have lost the lot, confiscated by the state and reinvested in real estate in Georgia or one of the Ukraine seaside resorts. Sanchez would have found himself mining for salt in another chilly environment.
Wavy. I bet he would have spent most of his time moaning at the guards anyway. 🙂
Sadly Adam, it seems you are right.
What made me laugh was Wenger’s comments about Utd generating their own money etc etc so Alexis going Utd was better than going to City blah blah,…..
How many millions are Utd in debt?
Rico. I think it’s about a quarter of a billion quid. Reports vary though.
Do you think manure will end up in the same apple art as Carillion? I believe sooner rather than later one of the big clubs in Europe will go bust and the disaster will be cataclysmic. Of course it won’t be Arsenal as we have an internationally recognised and admired sustainable business! Even sadder, if the whole game goes tits up there will be no other clubs to play or a premier league left to compete in!
Am I being too pessimistic……probably but like Crouch going to Chelsea, unbelievable though it may appear, it could happen and much sooner than we think!
Adam, precisely, how can that be applauded? It can’t…
I hope so Wavy, taking Mourinho with them..
So no mhki then? Bummer. Oh well onward and upwards then COYGS!
Afternoon guys…adamant.
Adam, what is Arsenal debt ?
Are they in any debt Bt… ? ?
Charlie Nic on Sky Sports is telling it as we do..
There is absolutely zero chance of Arsenal getting either Rashford or Martial, it’s not worth even thinking about.
£41m eh?
That’s a great result for Kroenke.
We won’t get Aubameyang either.
You’re such an optimist Kev.. ?
I am growing increasingly miserable Rico, the whole charade sometimes known as Arsenal Football Club, now better known as Arsenal Franchise KSE has gradually drained away all my enthusiasm and made me even more intolerant than I was before. ?
Ha ha Kev, I’ve given up on them, just ticking along until Wenger goes…
Arsenal XI: Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Elneny, Wilshere, Xhaka, Ozil, Iwobi, Lacazette
Bench: Ospina, Chambers, Mertesacker, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Nelson, Nketiah

Goonster.
Hey BT. I don’t know the amount but we’re still cash rich aren’t we?
Hi Adam, we are certainly cash rich..but still had debt…
Agree with you on Mikki, no thank you…
Now off to watch the match..
my streams are not working , what has anyone got
First Team winning 4-0
U18’s winning 1-0 at Anfield in youth cup
4 nill and playing like Brazil. .
Typical arsenal. .blowing hot and cold.
No mkhtatryan is good with me.
Ian wright is a legend
and so is rico ??
Potter, the Apple App Store have links, good ones..
Ha ha Kk, always knew there was something I liked about you… 😉
The media will have a field day if we don’t concede and score a couple more…
Rick, good. Be nice to beat the Dippers good and proper.
We look imperious guys ???we ‘re purring like a well oiled German world war 2 tank. Wilshire has been immense in the last few games. My player of the month by a mile. Give that guy a new contract and wrap him up in cotton wool. Alexis who?? We don’t miss him. COYGS
Special mention to nacho. How we ve missed him. One of our unsung heroes. Wish hes still in his 20s. Shame really. Oh well enjoy him while it lasts.
Too many tricks and flicks though goonie, certainly after the fourth went in. Need to use this game to close the goal difference gap if Palace don’t get any better.
Hope his injury isn’t serious goonie.
I think it’s just precautionary Rico. We do need him against the chavs. He didn’t look like he was in any kind of pain. Ran off the pitch too. He ‘ll be alright.
Come on arsenal. Looking sloppy already. We don’t need to concede any goal in this game.
Seriously I can’t stand iwobi and bellerin. Don’t know what they bring to the team except running around aimlessly.
Simple pass to laca and it’s 5.0 but he chose to go for glory. Selfish twat.
Bellerin is shit. End of.
Quick question why don’t we ever have the same intensity in both halves? It’s either we ‘re shit in the first and world class in the second or vice versa. Why can’t we just sustain the same level? God in heaven.
Typical.
Bellerin makes me want to tear my eyes out. What does he offer to this team I ask again?
Hope so goonster.
Great result, not a great performance though…
After 90mins 2-2 at Anfield.
Extra time being played
The performance wasn’t that bad just typical arsenal. Great in one half and shit in the other. Just another Wenger trait that rubs off the team. The sooner he leaves the better.
I thought the same when Iwobi went for glory, a simple ball through into the path of Lacazette was the only option.
Second half was dire, disorganised and ball chasing.
Yep, so Wenger…
Shame it’s not on live Rick.
He frustrates the hell out of me. Jay jay okocha’s nephew?? I don’t think so but I can live with him it’s bellerin that irks the fuck out of me. He has regressed to the point of no return. This guy can’t cross shoot or make a simple 5 yards pass. We need a new RB Rico bellerin is not cutting it for me and don’t start me off on his defending.
Went from quick quick , quick quick , quick to slow, slow ,slow slow ,slower.
And gave away the inevitable goal. A six or seven would have done the power of good for morale.
We lost in the 2nd half. Typical or not class and belief?
I hope some improves to this team.
We can’t continue playing M-Niles on the left,
Goonie , the kid is full of pace but something stops him when he gets one on one with space in front of him. It’s got to be the coaching. Lacazette and Giroud would benefit from early crosses but it’s almost as if he’s been told not to do it.
Potter sir he’s shit. When he broke into the scene he was taking on players and beating them for fun. He was making beckham-esque crossings and his overall play wasn’t that bad. He was 19 then and we saw a glimpse of world class about him but lately he’s been the worse arsenal player I ve seen in a while.
John Jules has put us 3-2 up .
Come On my boys
If you believe Paul Merson , and why would you , Wenger wants to replace Wilshere with Maitland Niles which is why he is buggering about on the contract renewal. He wants Jack to leave but make it look as if it’s all Jack’s doing.
Could be a coaching thing like Rico says but we definitely need a new RB pronto.
How long to go Rick..
I don’t think he’s shit but I do think he is being stopped doing what comes naturally.
I’m of the same opinion re Bellerin, there’s a great player in there, just Wenger can’t find it.. Or rather Wenger can’t help Bellerin find it.
I doubt it potter nacho crosses so does kolasinac and AMN. I think he’s lost it believing his own hype. Another young player that has regressed under Wenger. I see why reiss wants to leave.
Against Chelsea, why not Debuchy at right back in a four and Bellerin on the wing. Between the two they should stop Hazard…lol
15 mins Rico.
The di[pers are coached by ME ME ME and are undefeated this season.
Amaechi and Smith Rowe having a great game.
Thanks Rick, I forget it was him as their coach. Even more reason to win..
Sanchez confirmed as Utd player…
According to reports, we get £35 million for Sanchez, and Mkhitaryan….
Is that a fact rico??
I thought it was a straight swap no money was supposed to change hands? What is going on?? That’s a great deal Rico ??? sven is working already. Long live the king. Haha COYGS
What a cracking game we won 3-2
As i have said there is silverware for the academy this season and could mean promotion for Ampadu
more later.
Headline in Daily Mail goonster, just checked elsewhere but nothing so they might be previous.
I read yesterday on LG that money was involved…
Great news Rick, we’ll done to the boys.
Can’t find that anywhere too Rico. Hopefully it ‘ll be announced soon and we all can go back to what really matters. Football. Heard we had our first bid for auba turned down. It wasn’t far off from what Dortmund are requesting for so hopefully we ‘ll go back with a better offer. Let’s wrap this up real quick.
Just hope Wenger doesn’t jeopardise the Aubameyang Deal goonster.
Saying that, Wenger couldn’t manage Alexis so how will he manage Aubameyang and his strong character…
Evening all and thank you Rico…………………and thanks for making my eyes sweat !
Yes we won, but why no Alexis in the team , he`s still our player isn`t he ?
For once I agree with Wenger……….about Manshafter, they may have a debt, but so do we, they are manageable ones, theirs is £261M according to a news report. well thats nothing to the juggernault money making machine that they are as their revenue is massive !
Same report says Arsenal`s debt is £6M………..these accounts are from August 2016 for all on this report…………………….nothing stated for Chavs, but they were loaned £1.14B from Roman !……………………nothing stated for Bindippers, but they have a bank loan of £55M and FSG loan of £110M………………………………………Mansour City……£11M debt…………………The Sheiks have invested £1.21B in the club since take over upto 2016…………………………………….yes I cant resist it……………..Kroenke has invested £0
Here`s the link…….
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/01/premier-league-finances-club-by-club
Kroenke doesn’t need to invest his own money Lc, the club has plenty of its own to spend on players. Something we’ll find out I suspect once old Ebenezer Wenger departs..
I’m offski, catch up tomorrow guys…
Contradicting Lee`s 10:02am………………………………………..Wenger says Alexis transfer will only happen if Mkhitryan comes to us !…………………….so Kroenke will be gutted for 41 million reasons !
🙂
Deal done we get Micky mouse they get a bundle of trouble! Announced on BBC news just now.
Good win but we still managed to lose the second half. No change there then.
It’s been reported on sky now. Mhki to have a medical in 48 hours. Now get auba done pronto. Looks a great Window so far. If we get auba then it’s the best in years if not decades. COYGS ?
https://twitter.com/bbcsport_david/status/954816899342323717?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.101greatgoals.com%2Fnews%2Fsocial%2Fornstein%25e2%2580%258f-memes-mkhitaryan-sanchez%2F
I only think it is a good TW if we get PEA, just swapping Alexis for Mkhitryan would be us losing the better player, it needs PEA aswell to make it better.
I think we will get PEA or someone else as Wenger knows he is in the last chance saloon in trying to win us fans over, he knows losing Alexis and just getting Mkhitryan is not good enough with top 4 looking less unlikely unless someone above us emplodes and winning EL is only just less harder than winning CL, so no CL next year is more likely than getting it, he needs to keep us fans off his back and knows only quality signings will go some way to appeasing us as he`s up to his neck in it !
A great window would have been Alexis and Ozil re-signing, PEA, a top DM and a top defender !
It seems that Arsenal under Wenger, the plan is not to have a plan!!!!
Morning Lee and all.
That sounds just like a Wenger plan. Elneny got a lot of stick on twitter after the game apparently.. I guess someone has to get it after a 4-1 victory… ?
Morning Rico and all. The no-plan plan has paid considerable dividends since its introduction alongside the no-defence defence. It’s just these unwanted transfer windows that get in the way.
Morning Adam. Little makes sense really does it..
Rico. I may be wrong, but it does seem that events are controlling Wenger as opposed to the other way round.
It’s seemed that way for a while Adam. I can see why he’s been adamant about getting Mkhitaryan in the Alexis deal though. That makes sense to me.
Rico. We don’t know how Mkhitaryan will work out but, as I said yesterday, I haven’t seen much from him and he has done very little at MU. At this moment this seems to me like a much better deal for them than us. But, perhaps Wenger will get more out of him. As for Alexis? Nobody moves to a Mourinho team to become a better footballer. A couple of million a month is a massive incentive.
Adam, I agree it looks better on paper but who knows as you say. Mkhitaryan might relish being wanted, Alexis might not enjoy as much playing time or might even upset the camp which is possible. Time will tell I guess…
New post up now…
