German Trio in our sights, Sanchez confusion, Debuchy done and dusted & Ramsey models new kit….

Morning all.

The world of football was shocked yesterday by the passing of Alfredo di Stefano. Here he is with his 5 European Trophies.

R.I.P
R.I.P

Still a few mixed reports surrounding the future of Alexis Sanchez. Yesterday afternoon the Liverpool Echo printed an article which said his agent had told Liverpool FC that not only he didn’t want join them but it was likely his future would be in London with us. However, the Express suggest that the player favours a move back to Italy, where he was prior to moving to Spain.

Just have to hope that story holds no truth.

Barca apparently want him sold asap so they can fund the Suarez move and this week is their aim.

If he is coming our way, my view is the same as Wath’s, he’ll be in before or very soon after the Puma launch on Thursday. After all, what better way for Puma to show off our new shiny kit eh….

Looking Good....
Looking Good….

It’s looking highly likely that Mathieu Debuchy will be one of the first in the door as yesterday it was reported that he’d undergone his medical although other reports suggest that is a  bit previous but a medical for him expected in the next day or two.

Talking of which, here is a post from Kev:

The imminent signing of Mathieu Debuchy would be a very welcome change from Arsenal’s transfer policy of recent years, namely Last Minute.com…

It’s still early days but there are positive noises coming from Arsenal suggesting we’ve got one or two more new signings coming our way…

So, as it stands, Wenger has replaced the excellent Bacary Sagna with the player who replaced him in the French National team.

Lukasz Fabianski, who has joined Swansea, (good luck to him) is yet to be replaced.

Thomas Vermaelen is still an Arsenal player, and I sincerely hope that he remains one and despite rumours suggesting that Arteta, Podolski and Cazorla could be leaving, they’re also still all at Arsenal, and hear hear to that.

We are into the 2nd week in July, the transfer window is wide open and clubs are coming to terms with balancing domestic and foreign players in their 25 man squads as required by FIFA regulations.

The World Cup is almost finished, so where do all the major protagonists stand in relation to each other for the 2014-15 EPL season?

Chelsea have been the biggest spenders so far, with £32m spent on Diego Costa and £30m on Cesc Fabregas. Mourinho has re-couped £40m from PSG on the wild David Luiz, which is good business imo.

Ashley Cole is off the payroll and has joined Roma on a free and Wallace has joined Vitesse Arnhem on loan. Surprisingly there is no mention of Grommet…!

Louis Van Gaal has wasted no time in spending £27/31m on Luke Shaw and £29m on Ander Herrera. Alex Buttner has left for £4.4m, but I suspect that 3 or 4 Dutch based players could be in place at Old Bog before the season starts.

Liverpool were quickest out of the blocks in preparation for their biggest season in years, CL and all. In has come £4m Rickie Lambert, £25m Adam Lallana and £10 Emre Can. More arrivals can be expected.

Man City have been almost as circumspect as Arsenal, with only £12m spent on Fernando, along with Sagna. Pantilimon and Lescott have both left for free. I really cannot see this low key approach to the season, lasting much longer. Man City are nothing, if not cavalier going on reckless with their spending, so expect a City ‘blow-out’ any time soon?!

There are a few deals going through negotiations as I write this, Suarez, Sanchez etc, plus a few other earmarked for completion as soon as the World Cup final is over, so hold onto your hats! Stan, you hold onto your pants!!

A few ex-Gunners on the move:

Philipe Senderos, Aston Villa, free
Steve Sidwell, Stoke City, free
Alban Bunjaku, Derby County, free
Conor Henderson, Crawley, free
Luke Freeman, Bristol City, free
Stuart Taylor, Leeds United, free
James Shea, AFC Wimbledon, free.

Pff! No sell on fee from any of those…. lol

Finally, good luck to our German trio for tonight. 9pm they battle it out with Brazil for a place in the final of the World Cup.

No doubt all Gooners eyes will be on this match and our three players……..

    Morning again all…

Good post Kev, on a very slow old day. Nice to read something other than transfer gossip. Now who writes all that…. 😉

    Talking of which:

Reports yesterday suggested that Sanchez was set to decide between Juve and the Gunners having decided against a move to Liverpool.

Sanchez played in Italy previously with Udinese and it was thought that the Chilean may be keen on a return to Serie A.

But reports in Italy this morning suggest that after talks with the player, the Turin club have accepted they are not in a position to compete with Arsenal for the player.

It is believed that Arsenal have already agreed a fee with Barcelona for Sanchez and it now remains just a matter of time until personal terms are finalised.

Sanchez would then obviously have to undergo a medical at the Emirates, but it seems that barring any unexpected hitches, the move could be confirmed imminently.

Yesterday, Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta – speaking at the introduction of Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo – was keen to stress nothing had yet been finalised.

  2. Bt62 Gooner says:

Come on, come on, get them in and the rest. Good post Kev, on what our close rivals are up to, no mention of the spuds, then i did say close rivals,..lol. Morning all.

  3. rico says:

Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez is reportedly flying to London to complete his transfer to Arsenal after rejecting moves to Juventus and AC Milan.

The Gunners are reported to have agreed a £32million fee to sign Sanchez following days of speculation and the switch is now edging closer to completion.

According to the Italian press, the Chilean, who turned down Liverpool last week, received late offers from Juventus and Milan yesterday – both of whom were offering huge salaries.

However, he has rejected both clubs and is now heading for England to finalise his switch to the Emirates Stadium.

    Good old Metro 😛

  4. Nickie says:

    A fine read indeed Kev.

    Morning All…

I’m so emotionally up and down on the AS transfer lol

  5. rico says:

Starts from 9am uk time I think Scott, that’s when the first AFC shop opens with the kit on sale…

  6. Nickie says:

11pm Scott GMT…what an odd time, literally doing a deal to the wire in time for kit launch lol 😉

  7. Adam says:

Metro is my Bible. I believe it’s veracity to be only surpassed by the vile amalgamation of flesh, tissue and bone that is Adrian Durham.

  8. rico says:

I got that wrong Scott, sorry..

The new kit will be available from Arsenal channels as follows:

    ArsenalDirect.com, 11pm, July 10
The Armoury Store, Emirates Stadium, 10am, July 11
Highbury House Store, Emirates Stadium, 9am, July 11
Finsbury Park Store, 9am, July 11
Brent Cross Store, 10am, July 11

No idea then when the actual unveiling takes place…

  9. rico says:

    11pm Nickie??

How daft a time is that eh…

Mine too Adam, they do write some drivel, even worse than me…

  10. potter says:

Oh by the way , a throw back to yesterday’s post and this morning’s comments . Living in the country as I do newspapers do have at least one use . :- You have to light the fire with something.

If the Metro is not telling made up Porkies , we better get our resident cabbies to all London airports to be the first to get selfies with the man. Tell him not to come by train as the tunnel is blocked again apparently.

  11. Rick says:

Good Morning Rico and the House.
Good Post Kev its on my wavelength.
I have been catching up on yesturdays post Rico how long did it take you to think that one up.
As i see things there could be ins and outs before the end of this week and may be we could see something on the staff side.
Out to lunch today see you later.

  12. Nickie says:

I guess i’ve been a naughty boy lol. What a ridiculous time though. If they were going to do it, it should have been 6/7pm. People in from work, time to travel there etc. Not when people are thinking about going off to dreamland

  13. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to The Lady of the House and fellow Gooners in residence.

    Rico – Further clarification from The Express;

    http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/487461/Juventus-OUT-of-Alexis-Sanchez-running-as-Arsenal-close-in-on-32m-deal

I think all that is holding up Arsenal announcing the deal is FC Farcelona want to complete the Suarez deal and announce it before or at the same time as Arsenal announce the Sanchez deal. That way they have a player to replace the departing Sanchez and minimize the apparent loss and negative fan reaction. The Puma kit launch may also factor in for Arsenal’s announcement.

  14. rogerbij says:

Thanks Kev, 3 gunners in the semis – got to be good for us!
… When I wrote some months ago about the awesomeness that is ASanchez, I didnt really believe that we would get him. And now every day I get to wake up and press F5 with a coffee and feed my S-crack addiction. And then I read these comments and it fuels my day. Keep it up guys!

  15. Scott From Oz says:

It’s all comng together beautifully on the S deal.
Let’s just hope we get it over the line.

  16. Nickie says:

LOL Roger. I’m the same, get the shakes when there’s nothing new on twitter. Need my coffee, I get my good and bad hits from S-Crack…It’s dodgy old stuff mate

  17. rico says:

Morning Cg, I saw the Express one too thanks, I suspect it’s from that report that the Metro put 2 and 2 together….

    Fingers crossed eh….

Barca probably need the money in first….

  18. Wath says:

Sort out WP Rico… It keeps putting everyone into moderation…

Wait til Stan arrives and throws his dummy out the cot cos he’s in the sin bin and obviously blames me the blonde Donis…!

  19. Canadian Gooner says:

Kev – Good article. Also, it is great to see your AllezKev persona is stable lately. If you have to switch, please have Napoleon Solo standing by on channel 2 for instructions from Mr. Waverly.

  20. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – I was fairly confident ‘S’ was coming to Arsenal when Morata’s agent said he Alvaro was moving closer to a move to Juventus. They couldn’t afford ‘S’ and Morata unless they sold one of their gems.

  21. goonster says:

God am willing to make a bargain. Let sanchez come to us and am willing to let the world cup go. Who cares about the oranje anyway. It’s filled with Ajax feyeenoord and psv players. Arsenal on the other hand is my beloved. My first love make it happen lord. In jesus name amen 😀
    .

  22. goonster says:

Adam it’s the transfer window. Sanchez ll improve us brudder. He’s going to be immense. Trust me. He ll tip it. Can’t wait for him to score a hatrick against the spuds. It’s been a while we put 5 past them.

  23. rico says:

Wath, haven’t a clue what is going on 🙁

Me too Cg, but until he’s in the door, I’m taking nothing as read…

  24. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – I’m with you there.

Scott – It’s Rico that counts her chickens, just in case someone has made off with one of her beloved chooks with the intention to fricassee.

  25. Wavy says:

I saw a chicken crossing the road the other day…….it got squashed!

Count nothing till the fat lady sings! I haven’t even heard a tuning fork yet!

I hope this is real and I’m not going to wake up and find it was all a dream with no Mata of fact in any of it!!! It just seems soooooo déjà view.

  26. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – Are you off work with your broken ribs or are you trussed up like one a grande dame in a ball gown?

  27. goonster says:

Well pardon me maam but an American is our largest shareholder. So there you have it. Who knows they probably know we ve got sancheeeeeeeeeeeez 😀 am buying his shirt got me and brianna.

  28. Canadian Gooner says:

Wavy – To paraphrase to the Yogi Beara (famous ‘mericun baseball manager) – let’s hope it isn’t “déjà vu all over again”.

  29. Canadian Gooner says:

    I’ll have to see if I can find the old Dinah Shore TV commercial from the fifties “See the USA in your Chevrolet”. As if that kit wasn’t bad enough, you should see the new Dippers kit. It is even worse;

    http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/387669/The-kit-is-s-and-worse-than-Man-United-s-Liverpool-fans-blast-lauch-of-new-third-strip

One thing is for sure this season, our team will be better dressed than those for ManUre and the Dippers.

Stan, the very same tuttoshit that yesterday said he was joining Juve……….. I told you…. Stick to Beano….!

  36. goonster says:

Wath it’s really happening. Yikes I can barely contain my self. Mark my words gooners in 2 years he ll be in the top 3 players on earth. What a player we have on our hands. Christ help me.

  39. Wath says:

Nice one Wavy, please educate Stan on Dan Dare…. lol

Think he needs helps but even more so than usual….. 😉

  40. Wavy says:

Goonster calm down, if he comes be sure Mr Wenger will not make any great improvements to his game, in the short term. By the end of season 3 ‘S’ (if he comes) will just be getting to grip with the EPL, as Arsene retires to his pad in …….Alsace perhaps!

  41. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Guten Nachmittag, Liebe Freunde

Hey Goonie……you ok??? or pissing in your short G-strings afraid of tomorrow?

    Good article habib.

I feel that the Debouchy and Sanchez deals will be announced by Friday. I have a feeling that Aurier and Remy will come in as well while Jenkinson and Campbell will go on loan to a premiership team.

Why Aurier and Debouchy? Well Debouchy will be the proper RB while Aurier will be the versatile defender who will get ample play time resting players.

  43. BrainwashedKev says:

CG, I have resigned from the United Network Command for Law & Enforcement…

  45. BrainwashedKev says:

    Afternoon All btw…

Thanks for the positive vibes from ya’ll…

Coach, maybe the Egyptian geezer is gonna be Arsene’s versatile defender signing?

Looks like Di Maria is off to Serie A, if the rumours are correct.

But Khadira is still on methinks?!!!

  46. Hell Raising Devil says:

Egyptian Geezer???? Allah forbid. Frimpong would have been much better to keep.

  47. potter says:

From reports and i am not claiming to have seen a lot of either of them, both seem to have the reputation of being better going forward than Sagna with more accurate crossing but defensively not so good. That’s why i think it will be one only. We have Jenks and Bellerin whether a loan to someones bench will do them any good I am not sure.

  48. AndrewH says:

After Higuain, please let this happen with no more scare stories. Don’t like that Skybet moved him from 7-1 Juve to 5-1 to 5/2. We are 1-3 but were 1-4 yesterday.

  49. Nickie says:

We were 1/8 at one point Andrew. Betting suspended for Drax, Suarez, Hig….take it with a pinch of salt

  50. AndrewH says:

Nickie, never know if it’s bets being placed that alters odd, or latest gossip. When it’s in our favour, I always dream they are in-the-know.

  51. BrainwashedKev says:

Yeah Draxler, forgot about him, wonder if Wenger would consider a late bid for him?

  52. Wath says:

I like the idea of three signings in the next week and three more to cherry pick last week of the window…! That would work for me…!

Sorry mate bit late but good post Kev…. 😉

  53. BrainwashedKev says:

I have to say, that I really cannot understand all the fuss surrounding the new Puma shirt…

I like the fact that Puma are now our kit suppliers as I’ve always liked their designs and clothes, but the new shirts, they look just like, well, Arsenal shirts.
No big design changes, except the socks, and I’m glad of that.
I like the away shirt, yellow and blue, as it should be…

Yep, it all looks good, but please save us from the hype…

  54. emma says:

Bkev – I am floating same boat with you.
All I am interested in is when they put on that shirt, irrespective of the supplier they should make us proud on the pitch

  55. agirlagunner says:

Kev, you’re on a writing roll!! 🙂 Good one, buddy. I hope Verm stays; couldn’t bear seeing him in a United kit; and I’m sure van Purse has put in a good word for him.

S and Debuchy to feature in the kit launch; the rest to come in the next two weeks. Kev, I’m happy with what I’ve seen of the kits; at least they’re not ombre or with some barfy overly graphic design. 😀

    Hello, emma, WATH and George!

  56. BrainwashedKev says:

Can’t argue with those sentiments Emma, but it good to see our players running out, looking the part….

Anyone out there remember that appalling green & blue shirt in the 1980’s

    Ugh!

  57. BrainwashedKev says:

    Hey Shopping Buddy, how’s things?

Got a couple pairs of trainers yesterday, very stylish… 😉

    You made any purchases lately???

  58. Wath says:

    I’ll shoot you……………………

Kev, 1982…. I wonder if anyone kept that rotter of a green top… collectors item now…!

  59. goonster says:

Emma how are u my favorite liverpodian. Is there such a word? Man who cares we ve got sancheeeeeeeeeeeez. Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaah

  60. agirlagunner says:

Kev, one of my parcels cannot be located!! 🙁 🙁 Good job on the trainers, btw. 🙂 🙂 Something to pair with the new kits? 😛

Is Mundo Deportivor reliable? 🙂 Not that we were ever in doubt. 😀

goonie, you have to pay WATH 200 quid, buddy. We were all witnesses, remember? 😀

  61. Hell Raising Devil says:

he will pay more like 200 wanks

he has never seen 200 quid in his whole life. 😛

  62. BrainwashedKev says:

    Agag, that is the pits….

Not the kit Agag, no, for when I’m out and about…
    Very nice they are too…

  63. agirlagunner says:

Kev, can’t be worse than traffic in Manila. 😀 😀

Goonie, calm down. You said you’d sworn off transfer talk until September. 😀 😀

  64. BrainwashedKev says:

That list parcel Agag, it didn’t have your new Torres quilt cover in it I hope? 😛

  65. agirlagunner says:

Nickie, goonster is sui generis. 😀 😀 Let him tell you about that time he had to do community service because he got into trouble with some Spud. Lol.

  66. goonster says:

I made no such promise agag. Only said I ll piss in front of the white house remember? Heck I ll piss in front of no 10 downing street for added measure cause we ve got sanchez y’all. Sancheeeeeeeeeeeez am I dreaming? Someone clubber me. Clubber me please*sobs*

  67. Wath says:

  68. agirlagunner says:

Goonie, when was that again? A couple of years ago? And you couldn’t blog for a while. 😀 Lol. I forgot what it was about exactly.

  69. goonster says:

George, I always think the same, if a player wants to leave then so be it, long as we bring in the same or better quality then fine…..

    Did someone mention “S”…………?

  75. goonster says:

Still milfed we didn’t get aurier cause I think debauchery ll be targeted but hey we ve got sanchez to soften the blow. Sancheeeeeeeeeeeez. Yeeeeeeaaaaaah. Come on you fucking gunners. Come the fuxk on. Yeaaaaaaaaahhhh.

  76. agirlagunner says:

Bruised banana shirt lol agag…i wear that in the gym here and get allsorts of looks hahahaha

  86. BrainwashedKev says:

There’s a few of them down Old Hampton St, Stan…

You must let Adam, Lee and I take you there when you visit London…

  87. agirlagunner says:

Oh, I see, Rick. 🙁 I read somewhere that Theo has started running though. Yay. One has to wonder about Ryo; why is he alwaaaays injured? He’s doing a Diaby. 😉

rico, no other news on our other Chilean signing, Vidal. 😉 Haha.

roger, imagine all those shirts we’d sell. 😀

  88. BrainwashedKev says:

  92. Bt62 Gooner says:

  93. Rick says:

He certainly was Kev and whats more he was doing it with a smile on his face.I wonder why?
Have any of you. had the chance to read what Ian Holloway had to say about Jack Wilshere. Who the hell does this idiot think he is ,
no wonder he cannot keep a Managers job

  94. agirlagunner says:

Ian Holloway says controversial things because he is increasingly irrelevant, Rick. Although I did not hear Jack’s interview in its entirety, I doubt he meant to be disrespectful to either Roy or the England team.

    Chill pill, stanley. 🙂

  95. rico says:

I was surprised by IH’s comments on Jack, always like Holloway as a manager but not any more…

I honestly dont know what was expected of Jack. We were allready out of the cup and there was no meaning to the game, Was he expected to bust a Gut pick up another injury and miss the start of the season. As for the interview I wonder why they did not talk to Jones or Smalling. Rant Over.

  100. Woody says:

My god, I can’t believe it. I’m actually really really shocked and amazed if this is true about Sanchez.

I always believed we could get him, but by early July and so soon after the World Cup?

I know it’s not confirmed, but it seems that it is going to happen!

    WOW!

  101. rico says:

I won’t until afc.com confirm it, this is the negotiating skills of Arsenal at work we are talking about… 😉

  102. Woody says:

Haha – I hear ya Rico.

I dunno though, it just seems to much. In the past I’ve sat listening to these stories about players leaving us and I always held some hope that they were all wrong and never were.

Even with Higuan and Mata I never saw that news on the yellow scrolling bar at the bottom of SSN and we have that with Sanchez.

It also says that Arsenal expect to. Not someones agent, or a man working for Marca..Arsenal. So someone within Arsenal has said this…

  103. Rick says:

Kev here is another one just for you .
    They have found Galindo.
It seams that a year ago he went Walk About and no one knew where he was. The are now saying he went home and he is training
with a Bolivan side . I hope they don’t give him back pay.

  104. Gonerjoe says:

Sky will have a lot of egg on their face if S’s transfer does not come off after last couple of hours.

  105. BrainwashedKev says:

    Galindo has gone Rick….

He was at Colorado Rapids a year ago, but injury did for him again.

12 months and his contract with Arsenal expires…

A few more will join him, I suspect, once Jonker has a sort out…

  106. Joywedsjeff says:

Evening gooner familia…Hopefully Sanchez finds the right airport unlike Higuain. Getting Sanchez to london colney is a big task but an even bigger task is getting m’vila out of the medical room. He refused to vacate it for Ozil last august hence we had to do it in Germany..

  107. goonster says:

I can’t rico….how do I stay calm when we re about to sign a truly world class player. This ain’t higuain mata*spits* or mvilla. This is sancheeeeeeeeeeeez*sobbing profusely* lewis fucking sanchez. He’s right there with the best in the world plus he has not even peaked yet. Have you seen this guy play? Oh Lord somebody give me a chair. I feel faint. Sancheeeeeeeeeeeez. Yeeeeeeaaaaaah

  108. rico says:

We all know how good he is Stan, just wait and calm down, , jeez you are a Dad these days… 😉

  109. goonster says:

Gee rico you had to play the dad card. You re right. Am kinda too old for this. Guess brianna won’t want a raving lunatic for a father. Am sorry maam. Am composed now….but lord God in heaven we re about to sign sanchez rico. Alexis fucking sanchez. Am sure brianna won’t mind. Sancheeeeeeeeeeeez. Yeeeeeeaaaaaah. Come on unveil him already. I ll have to voice left by Thursday. God help me. Sancheeeeeeeeeeeez.

  110. Hell Raising Devil says:

    why worry regarding Merts Rico?

Its best for us if they do not play at all.

I support Germany, but first and foremost its ARSENAL.

  111. rico says:

Agreed, and then the commentators will say Ozil is poor but the service to him has been woeful….

    2-0 😛

  112. Hell Raising Devil says:

the krauts are proving to be ruthless.

another 3 this side of half time will do me fine.

  113. tsgh says:

    Yesssssss Loose…kroos pure class.
schweinsteiger showing hr is a top play maker.
Khedira doing his best Ramsey impression tonight.
    Loew you read Hh.lol
    Evening
    Kroos 3-0

  114. Micko says:

Back from the Tour de France, what a great weekend.

Kev, when you have a minute you’ll need to let us know your thoughts on the Nissan NV200 !

Klose, scoring goals for fun, nitey nite Brazil.

  115. tsgh says:

    what a pass from kroos?
Matt Lawrence thinks Kroos is not good enough? Lmfao
Ozil going about fluidly in the game.he deserves a goal too…

  116. Micko says:

tsgh, the Jerries are doing it for Carlos Valderrama, he made you complete !!! All we want is justice.

  117. BrainwashedKev says:

The German finishing has been of the highest order…

Almost every chance, put away clinically…

    Vorsprung Durch Technique

  118. rico says:

Well said Shearer, ok Brazil haven’t been fantastic but Germany have and that’s why they are winning, not merely because of Brazil being bad Mr ‘twit’ Hanson!

  119. agirlagunner says:

Marcelo has been particularly woeful. He is the worst of the rotten lot. And that Dante, haha.

  120. BrainwashedKev says:

    JM, where are you…

    What is Portugese for:

Your boys took one hell of a beating… 😀

  121. Micko says:

Same stadium 1950 England got done by the US of A 1 nil, the grave-yard of dreams as the commentator put it so nicely.

  122. Joaquim Moreira says:

Khedira was the best player on the pitch in the first half
Brasil mut play with 3 midfileds players (for instance Ramirez and put bernard out) and say to both full backs for not attacking at the same time.
Germany is fantastic tactic and technical

  123. agirlagunner says:

Plus, Khedira would have no trouble settling in, we already have a German contingent.

  124. Kc says:

    Guillem Balague @
    GuillemBalague 1m
All agreed for Alexis. Will be
    anounced soon, possibly
    tomorrow.Arsenal will pay
    FCB £27.5 plus £2.3 for
    objectives. 4 years plus 1
    optional

  125. snaparse says:

even if we had 50 diabys I would still want kross……top top player shame he is going to Madrid though

  126. Micko says:

Agag, did you see my earlier post, I predicted it would be 5 nil at half time but wath deleted it !

  127. agirlagunner says:

Oscar has done absolutely nothing to justify his selection for Brazil, much less his starting place.

  128. snaparse says:

ts Ramirez is seriously underrated……great player IMO hate to player against him tireless midfielder

  129. agirlagunner says:

Time to bring in Per, shore up the German defense. Klose has his record, best get someone more defensive in.

  130. snaparse says:

ts agag I think scolari is an arrogant man he didn’t want to listen to opinions and chose players he liked…how did firminho not get a call up when he had a better season that the average hulk Jo Fred and even Oscar(I like him)?……mirande is their second best defender after thiago silver IMO and he didn’t take him coupled with the fact that he took Jo of all people lol

  131. tsgh says:

    Snap, Loew shad really improved…
Interesting how FIFA appointed a Mexican for a Brazilian match after complaints of FIFA helping brazil in previous matches…

  132. Hell Raising Devil says:

I think it will be a final of two popes now…….

    The Argie Francis 1

    The Kraut Benedict 16

  133. agirlagunner says:

No Benatia, ginge? Thiago and Kos for me. Plus, I think Varane is the most promising of the young center halves.

  134. Micko says:

tsgh 10.30, Van Gaal is more than a pretty face you know, didn’t he also bring Kroo’s and Muller into the fold ?

  135. agirlagunner says:

Rico, now is when he should be crying. Haha. I am alittle embarrassed at how much this Brazilian team cries.

  136. Wavy says:

And the 5th panzer division sing on! Uber ales!well they got that right!
You have to wonder what FIFA will do to fix the final so the Krauts don’t win!?
Who will they play? Argies who are soon to invade the Malvinas, again or the oranges?
Who can say? It’s in the gift of the governing body.

  137. rico says:

    🙂 agag…

I’m off for the day guys and gals, don’t stay up too late laughing at the Brazilians 😉

    Night all…..

  138. rico says:

    Just seen this:

Arsene Wenger wants to add £8million Loic Remy to his revamped strikeforce.

The Arsenal boss is closing in on a £30million deal for Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez.

And spending on the Gunners’ attack, which relied almost entirely on Olivier Giroud last season, will not stop with the Chile World Cup forward, as there have been talks with Queens Park Rangers about Remy.

The 27-year-old France international – who scored 14 Premier League goals for Newcastle last season while on a year-long loan – is keen on the switch, having been spotted in the stands at the Emirates during an April match against West Brom.

A deal between the clubs is close, although personal terms have not yet been agreed.

    Gone now…..

  139. Micko says:

Ozil should have made it 8-0 before they scored, flog the turk !
    Nite rico.
Agag, neymar is still waiting on his flowers and lucozade, it’s touch and go, nite all.

  140. agirlagunner says:

Ozil, how could you have missed that?

That was Oscar’s only meaningful contribution to Brazil’s campaign. Lol.

Anyway, over and out. good night, guys.

  141. Canadian Gooner says:

Devil – “the krauts are proving to be ruthless.

another 3 this side of half time will do me fine.”

Very prophetic! What does your crystal ball say about the scores for tomorrow and Saturday.

  142. BrainwashedKev says:

Sami Khadira and Mesut Ozil in the Arsenal midfield…

    What a fantastic thought…

Tony Kroos looks a very good player and that Muller, what a fcuking nuisance, but a great player, would love him at Arsenal as well…

  143. Canadian Gooner says:

Kev – A Netherlands vs. Germany final only if Germany can humiliate The Oranje like they did the Seleção.

FIFA suicidal would be good for the sport of football. Throw Septic Bladder and all his corrupt cronies out and replace them with people who love the game and put it first, not themselves.

  144. Adam says:

    Morning Rico, Scott and all.
Though it is not nice to see grown men cry, in the case of Luiz and Oscar I am prepared to make an exception and confess that I enjoyed it greatly. But then I am evil.

  145. Scott From Oz says:

Adam, I must be as well.
Though I didn’t watch it, seeing the updates was bliss.
    Morning mate.

  146. rico says:

    Morning Adam, Scott and all…

I absolutely loved watching the Germans batter Brazil. Karma.

  147. tsgh says:

    Morning Scott, Rico et al…

Apparently Aw has said at least 2 more players after Debuchy and S… he hopes he can get a 5th player before the international break.

A colleague at work who claims to be itk and has not been far of especially with S fee etc and Ozil reckons, Aw had a chat with 1 German midfielder’s agent and the player is happy to join if an agreement can be reached…
But the down side is Arteta is more likely to leave if that German comes…

I damn hope its not Bender…

  148. BrainwashedKev says:

    Morning Lee

    Morning Rico, Adam, Scott…
    Morning All…

Seen loads of Hi-Viz yellow tops this morning, but not a single Brazil shirt…
Into the back of the wardrobe for another four years methinks…

Btw I got a Chilean guy in the back of the cab… 😉

  149. Scott From Oz says:

    Poor Brazilians.
Can’t see Argentina losing tomorrow, but equally, I can’t see them beating Germany in the final.

  150. potter says:

Spanish press all saying it’s done and dusted re Sanchez , so lets move on to the next one. If it is Khedira in and Arteta out then as hard as that may be as he has been a totally professional member, it can only be progress..

  151. Adam says:

On the Plonker’s Panel last night, only Rio ‘”I’m gutted for de geezer” Ferdinand picked the Krauts. Shearer and sad, tired old knobhead Hansen went for the Brazilians and what the hell is going on with Lineker’s barnet? Is he trying to look like and Eagle Owl?

  152. Nickie says:

Don’t think i’d get rid of him this year, keep him about. FA Cup winner, his experience will help new players settle quicker. He is a model pro. 1 Year left on his contract, so wouldn’t cost us much to keep him the year. Can play in early stage FA, Carling, Weaker premier league games. He’s not done yet (our Kim Kallstrom of this up and coming season)

  153. Scott From Oz says:

I’d love to see Arteta stay.
Against teams with less pace, he is fantastic.
Versus teams with pace, keep him off.
    Simple.

  154. rico says:

Arteta is in talks over a new deal apparently and a couple of Spanish clubs are keen to snap him up…

  155. Nickie says:

ooo maybe a 1 year extension as Rosicky finishes 2015, good to keep an older head amongst the youth(not so young anymore) Shame to just bin him after he’s been with us through some of the more difficult times in recent history

  156. BrainwashedKev says:

It’s a bit cloudy in London this morning, but once the cloud disappears it’ll be a hot one again I reckon…

Alan Hansen, Tall, Dark and a Cnut…

  157. potter says:

He would look back fondly at Arsenal , he got the medal that he would not have got at Everton.

  158. rico says:

Says a lot imo Nickie, one injury to Kos and we are suddenly struggling in defence.

If TV is off to Man Utd, we need a really good replacement signed imo…

  159. Wavy says:

Where would we have been without Arteta, after the trolley dash disaster result 8-2? He became the glue that stuck the then 1st team together. Without him we would not have finished 4th that year, not anywhere in the top half. He is an ageing genius. Please don’t sell him yet Arsene.
I think he should be kept for at least one more year and if he has any coaching ability he should be shovelled off to the training pitches at the Colney.

Morning all. Mrs Wavy was well impressed by the Krauts being half a one herself!

  160. Nickie says:

I love Mert and think he is a great defender given his limitations. His performances for Germany have worried me though. Maybe he isn’t in his comfort zone with the German squad, not sure if Boetang is the best defender to partner in the first place

  161. Scott From Oz says:

Wavy, Arteta is such an intelligent footballer, I can’t see him being anything but a great coach.
I’m with you….I hope he sticks around.

  162. tsgh says:

Hi Kev, I just managed to catch up on your post… a very good one btw it must be said.

Scott, you keep on saying nice things about Arteta, 🙂

  163. Scott From Oz says:

    Lol. Ginge.
You just keep sending those cheques hahahahaha
Nah, I’ve always thought he cops a raw deal from plenty.
His only flaw, in my opinion, is his lack of speed.

  164. tsgh says:

Exactly my buddy re Arteta. Imo he is still our best midfielder.

I hope folks last night who doubted a few of us saying Khedira is not a DM agree now…

Khedira unfortunately will need an Arteta or Rosicky next to him…

Last season him, Asier and Modric was not solid without an Alonso next to them…

    gone now later

  165. Nickie says:

If we get the CDM why not put Arteta in his prefered role for a few games. Sit him behind Giroud/Sanchez lol

  166. rico says:

That might happen in certain games Nickie, guess we’ll have to see who we get in midfield and who goes..

Oh, and see if Diaby stays fit 😉 😉
