Firework night tonight, so keep the kids at home and when will Wenger learn?

Kids v’s Yids do not go together!!

And I mean that, why go and play a bunch of ‘kids’ against our most bitter of rivals and not give ourselves a chance of winning a trophy this season.

Added to that, it’s not a game against Crewe or Oxford, it’s against the spuddies down the road, a side who have a few players already giving it the ‘Spurs are better than Arsenal’! Well they are not, they never will be and tonight we can’t give them any reason to think otherwise!!

Yes, rest Arshavin, play Chesney instead of Almunia. Play Gibbs instead of Clichy but at the back, lets see Koscienly and Squillaci carry on where they left off on saturday – at 94 minutes I mean not the added few seconds! Play Eboue at right back, that’s a pretty good defensive unit, now go and build on that Arsene!

We have no Song as he has a one match ban, no Diaby so that leaves either Denilson or Eastmond – me, I’d play both in there.

Lansbury can play the creative role and the stick the big boy JET on the left!

I hope then Wenger plays Chamakh and Vela up front, both want to play, both are on form. Just imagine how desperate Chamakh must want to win over any doubters… He’ll know that a couple against the Yids would do that. Play him Arsene, for him and for us all! As for Vela, he deserves to play, he is a wonderful player and he could destroy the opposition tonight.

So there you go, that’s my team for tonight, bet Wengers or yours is nothing like mine 😉

Chesney

Eboue Squilli Kos Gibbs

Lansbury Eastmond Denilson JET

Chamakh Vela

On Sunday I expressed my view on how tedious our boss can be following his push on the 4th official following us conceding a last gasp equaliser to Sunderland. My view still stands and today he’s been charged by the FA with using insulting and/or abusive language and behaviour amounting to improper conduct.

The man is a fool sometimes and Saturday was one of those times. When found guilty and he will be, because he did push Atkinson, we are left with the very ineffective Pat Rice overseeing us from the dug-out! Don’t get me wrong, I love Pat Rice but as a number two, he’s crap! Excuse the pun!! Trust me, I bet the FA are sat rubbing their hands together with this latest outbursts from our boss and you just watch the big book come flying his way if they get the chance.

I just hope for once he admits being wrong and accepts the charge. Do that and cough up £8000 and he only gets a one game ban. Be his usual ‘I did nothing wrong’ and he faces a long time in the stands!!

For that alone, he will remain Highbury Houses Villain!!

So that’s it for today all, just one thing is left and that’s the game tonight…..

Arsene needs to realise they are our sworn enemy, the pretenders from down the road the team that loathes us out of jealousy and envy.  Why do they celebrate even a draw against us as if they have won the World Cup?  Well it’s because they know full well they will forever be in our shadow!

Tonight Arsene Wenger needs to play a team that shows the fans that he cares that we beat our biggest rivals. He needs to show he cares that the fans are happy and he needs to put that shower in their place and beat them, because we all know that they really are just a s**t  team from North London!

Arsene, tonight MATTERS…!

morning rico. i am in agreement on all points – arsene did neither himself nor the club any favors with his petulant behavior on saturday. i am quite tired of it, and he makes it so difficult to defend him in instances like this. he would have been much better served by simply completely ignoring the time issue, praising the team for holding on with ten men as long as they did, and making a frank remark about our inept first-half performance – from there he could seque into praising the side’s togetherness and mental strength.

bad news about cesc – i am skeptical of the three week estimate. hammys need rest, so it could well be longer. i would not be surprised to see him miss both chelsea and united.

saw the szczesny quotes, and i am a bit skeptical. as usual, the inflammatory material (broken promises, considering my position, etc) makes me think at least some if it is contrived. i am sure he is frustrated that he is not getting first team action – i had hope that arsene would at least change his second choice keeper if he did not bring anyone else in, but that seems like that is not happening yet.

i am sure both szczesny and mannone must be wondering what they have to do to even get a look. giving repeated chances to fabianski undermines the concept of accountability – the message seems to be that you do not need to perform to stay in the first team. if arsene were to justify selecting fab on the basis of him not yet having a competitive match to prove himself this season, i would counter that he had more than enough chances last season, and made a mess of each of them. dropping him to the bottom of the pecking order and giving either szczesny or mannone the opportunity fabianski dismally failed to take last season should have been the natural progression. this is exactly the kind of situation that can fester and ultimately have a deleterious effect on team cohesion and spirit later in the season.

enough of that. as you can see, i am rather less than impressed with arsene today.

the last i will say on fabianski is that i hope he succeeds and proves me wrong. arsene is banging on about fab’s “strong attitude and strong response”, how hard he works in training, etc, etc. while i acknowledge that i do not have the opportunity to observe fab in training, real pressure comes in match situations, and fab has been found wanting – again, and again. the fab i saw late last season and in the legia game is a mentally weak, broken shell of a goalkeeper who seems utterly unable to put mistakes behind him. as much as arsene loves that guy, there has to be a limit. many of our current back four were not fit or at the club for fab’s games late last season, but i should think they know full well what happened – think they will be a little edgy and nervous tonight, knowing he is behind them? this can very easily infect the entire team and inhibit them. this is a situation where i fear that arsene is cutting our nose off to spite our face.

k, i think cesc’s absence definitely will impact us. we can only hope it is not prolonged, but hamstring injuries are very difficult to assess. resting is the only way to make them better – and cesc is worryingly prone to this sort of injury.

my point on cesc is that as he played himself back to full fitness, his form got better and better. the side and our style of play are all built around him. we have capable deputies in nasri and wilshere, for instance, but i think the team will still suffer for not having cesc available for selection.

i’m not…i acknowledge this is the manager’s call, and i am not the manager, but the evidence we see is compelling – fabianski is simply not ready and may never be good enough. what is there to convince any of us this is something more than blind faith on arsene’s part?

oliver

i’ll have to go back and read it. like i said yesterday, a bad weekend for my teams only heightens my sense of annoyance. i am not so down about the result, but find myself much less tolerant of arsene’s “act” and his team decisions than normal.

perhaps when i take a deep breath and step back, i may see things a bit differently. after all, arsene has to choose the team and make his post-match comments as he sees fit – not as i see fit. neverthless, he behaviour this weekend only fuels the contempt that the media, other managers and fa have recently shown him. i am sure he can care less about that, but i maintain it is not healthy for either him or arsenal football club as a whole.

K-TR7

Oliver i think we might be better without him in this game.He may be our best player but he plays as a second striker where he is up against mikel/Essien who easily outmuscle him.our play goes through him which results to us having no cuttind edge there considerind RVP10 is also absent. No doubting his talent but i think this game is made for Rosicky.

Rosicky plays one touch football and as we have seen on occasions he is very willing to interchange with the wide players especially Arshavin which will bamboozle Mikel.AA during different phases of the game will get chances to run at Terry which can only result in one outcome.Just remember the FA cup clash at Anfield where he deputised for FAB4.He is also very good defensively.

red nose’s bitter, delusional, frankly insulting remarks about liverpool following sunday’s match are the textbook illustration of being a graceless pig in victory. i hate to see arsene sink to that level, but he is not far away.

yes, some things went wrong…yes, we are all frustrated…but this is not one big conspiracy to make arsene wenger unhappy – for once, try to look at things objectively. the point we ultimately held on to may prove very useful at the end of the season. we did not deserve the half-time lead and i feel we were lucky to escape with the solitary point.

instead of some snide comment about timekeeping, how about saying something along the lines of “i waited for the full-time whistle once four minutes elapsed. that said, i understand that the match officials were under added pressure this weekend because of the fallout over last week’s events at goodison. in this instance, we were burned. nevertheless, my team battled hard and did everything they could to hang on to the three points. i am very pleased with the attitude and spirit they showed.”

the above states arsene’s greivance about the time added, while still praising the team and effort. more importantly it neither praises (which would have been false praise) nor criticizes the match officials – it does not personalize the remarks towards them, which has been a big recent problem of arsene’s. it still makes his point, while not making him look like a crybaby.

the above is what i immediately thought when i considered doing a post for you. in hindsight, i probably should have…

k, i agree that cesc probably should not be involved for tonights match, even if fit and available. with a trip to beograd and the chelsea and united fixtures looming, we will need cesc for those more than for tonight.

oliver

i imagine that is sheer speculation on sky’s part. undoubtedly, some will feature: fab, vela and jet look like certs to me. but their specualted side still looks too youthful. if arsene should choose to field a similarly young side, i urge him to think seriously about it first – does sending our younger players out in this fixture like lambs to the slaughter really do our younger players long-term good? it certainly does not do anything for this club’s supporters.

i do not want to bang on arsene all day, but i also wish he would be more judicious about playing kids in the cups. cup fixtures against the likes of our top four rivals – and the spuddies – should not feature an overabundance of kids. field a couple in the starting eleven with a couple more on the bench, but make the bulk of the squad up with experience, either second choice players from the starting eleven or reserves. someone to guide the kids through the match. if you want to make the bulk of the side up with kids, wait until we draw a side like oxford united (no disrespect intended to them). i know we have won with young sides at places like bramall lane, but those occasions have been less and less frequent in recent seasons.

that said, i also understand that fixture congestion and injuries are a huge selection factor to consider in these cup ties. nevertheless, a better mix would give our “best and brightest” a chance for first-team cup tie action, while giving reserves/second choice some needed action as well. in theory this should result in a better learning experience for the kids, and better results in the cups. perhaps we could even win one of them. if it backfires, then it backfires. you may still get a better idea about some youngsters, just not all at once.

Afternoon y’all!

So Chezzsny has had enough of L’Boss’ manure dishing… I dont blame him. Its like having a Jo Hart in the reserve and constantly choosing a Masimo Taibi ahead of him!
I have come to the conclusion that: Wenger Loves To Shoot Himself In the Bunion!!
If the likes of Chezzsny leave arsenal and prosper elsewhere, it will be an unforgivable act on Wenger’s part.

Unto the game tonight…
If Pavlyenko, Bale, Mordic, Defoe are out,we have a bit of a chance we could take it to penalties or nick a win. Whichever way, I hope the Spurz get sinked on their home ground, i really do!
