So, after several months of crazy football results Manchester United finally secured the Premier League Trophy yesterday.
Well done to them I say!
My own view though is that not one side in this English league ‘truly’ deserved to be crowned champions this season. Instead of it being a league about who would win the most, this year it really has been about who lost the least.
I know that sounds stupid but the results have been bizarre this season. No one team has stolen the show but when it came down to the nitty-gritty, Manchester United showed that had a little bit more than those around them when it mattered….
I guess that comes from winning, the menality is stronger.
I still believe though, it should have been ours and had we had just a handful of players who wanted it a little bit more, it would have been. Story of our season really!
A word about the FA Cup too – for the first half Stoke were totally outplayed and Citeh could have all but wrapped the game up but they didn’t. In the second half Stoke came out a much better side but when Yaya Toure ran his studs down the back of Wilkinson’s leg, I was stunned he didn’t see red, in fact he didn’t even get a caution.
From that moment you just knew didn’t you – and the inevitable happened when the same player hit the sucker punch.
Well, as much as we have had our battles with Tony Pullis and his side, they did themselves proud against a side that cost millions and millions!
Anyway, that’s my niceties over for today… 😉
Today we face Aston Villa and Chelsea are at home against Newcastle. To remain in with a chance of grabbing second place we need a Newcastle win and then we beat Aston Villa.
More realistically though, we need to secure three points to keep the new FA Cup winners off of our back, we need to make sure we achieve third place at least so the Champions League qualifiers next season don’t have our name in there.
There is one thing I hope Arsene Wenger does today. Well, two actually – the first being securing us the three points, the second is to sit down with Gary McAllister after the game and tell him just how much he wants to buy Ashley Young, a true Gooner.
Make it clear to Aston Villas that Arsenal will offer what they want for their winger and they can have Denilson and Nik plus a couple of million pounds if they want. Tell him to talk to Houllier, remind him how badly Liverpool treated him and how he shouldn’t be thinking of doing any transfer business with them in the summer, certainly not for Ashley Young!
We need him, most fans hope that Arsene Wenger believes we need him too, so go on Arsene, after the game today, make it clear that you want to buy Ashley Young and make sure they know you won’t mess about with the transfer cost.
It seems that any hope that we had for a new assistant to join Wenger has gone, rumours are that he will stay on for at least one more season. If the rumour is true, let’s hope when he does retire it’s on a winning note.
Wenger admits a new voice in the dugout would not go amiss, adding:
“Yes, we always need that and I am thinking about it as well.”
I hope that ‘new voice’ is Martin Keown or Steve Bould.
Finally, this could be the last time we see an old favourite of ours at The Emirates – Bobby Pires was and always will be very close to every Gooners heart – a wonderful player for us from start to finish. I’m sure all Arsenal fans will give him a warm and wonderful reception today.
I still miss him to this day…….
I’m not mentioning the march of protest, other than to say I hope it goes peacefully and has the effect which is intended and I hope the board at OUR club watch and take in what is being said.…..
Have a good day all, enjoy the game, let’s hope it’s a top perormance for the last home game of the season….
Morning…..
some of the main reasons why I think the march will not have its desired effect is cos despite the BMM saying it aint about wenger outm many going on the march are attending cos the see it as a way of calling for wenger to be sacked, also they are protesting about lack of revenue streams by the club but protesting about increased revenue from ticket sales, surely a contradiction, as is several of their aims, and on the subject of their aims, its too many, too varied and too wide ranging, should have stuck to one main aim, also its laughable how childish they are being over the PHW idiots comment, they say its their right to voice any critisim they wish, but when PHW is critical of them, they want him sacked, maybe instead of black scarf they should try kettle black pot
hope keown comes in
Hi eduardo and afc
I think Keown’s presence is just what we need in the dugout, whether wenger will allow such a ‘big man’ alongside him though is a different matter…
our boys need shaking up during matches and MK is just the man…
arsene buying ashley young
no chance mate
he only buys from frnch league second division
hi arsenal fan, something has to change soon, we need width, we need players who have a true want in them to play for us, young is that player…
i know he probably won’t get him but 15M isn’t going to break his piggy bank…
hi rico,
i think he made his signing of the season in pat rice
vermalaen is the new cb we wanted n he will say henderson and frimpong are the new midfielders so thats it
i feel that is gonna happen for sure
next season will startout well but again this time next season it will be the same story
Nah, he’ll get some players in arsenal fan, just not anyone we have heard of 😉
Good one, rico. Can’t agree with your assessment of United more. I can’t and won’t say I’m happy, for them, but job well-done, it must be admitted.
Hello, all. 🙂
Morning all. The word is Henderson and Miquel are in the squad today. But no Lansbury???
Morning rico,
I see your brave enough to put your wants on the line, and hope you are not disappointed. It appears that its all about Northern clubs this year, maybe they are tougher up there. Ferguson again must be commended, the man is a legend and deservedly so, he knows what it takes to become a winner and over the years has had his goals, catching Liverpool and passing has always been top priority for him. Also to put United up there as the best English club through success, and I don’t believe that any supporter anywhere does not have huge respect for his achievements. The man is a genius without doubt. They say he rules with a rod of iron and I can believe that. I had hoped that Arsene Wenger when he came would put Arsenal in the same Bracket as United, but Sadly Arsene’s chance has well and truly passed him by, his legacy however will be that he moved our stadiun a couple of hundred yds and made us financially secure, and got us into CL for fifteen years on the trot, for that well done Arsene. But Now Arsenes reign at Arsenal must surely be coming to an end. we will have to wait for a new manager, to put us in the same league as United, in fact several managers, if in fact ever. Arsene has been quite a vocal Manager in his time but not always to the supporter he keeps everything he does close to his chest. He had been taken to most supporters hearts in his time with us but many have now started to turn, the impression he is giving out is not for success on the park but success in the business side of Arsenal, and that will never go down well with supporters, so although the most successful Manager in our history, that kind of behaviour cannot continue.
Young is a winger, we have Nik B to play there. So that is a no go.
Keown will be mean to Arsene’s babies, do you think Wenger will want that?
I am giving this club one more transfer window to resolve this and get what plainly is needed before I just quit on them.
Wenger is a bit ill at the moment
We send him get well soon cards and flowers
It helps i know
completely agree with u Will
And didnt wenger say he wasnt buying anyone at the flank
we have worldclass players there in walcot arsh and nik b.
Morning guys, If I was in London I would match may butt off the club be joking
Hi again guys, sorry i disappeared off to do the house work 🙁
Rico – Housework in the same sentence just don’t go !!
Think eduardo’s comment at the top is total drivel, he obviously enjoys being called stupid….! If the cap fits…….!
My apologies, morning all…..!
Erickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk where the F*** have you been………..? I was going to send a search party…!
Top comment Steve,
WhenWenger arrived and turned us into a winning side and playing such fantastic football i thought we were set up for years – he bought experienced players and some youth, the balance was just right. The here and now was being looked after as was the bright shining light for the future…
But then it all stopped and that is why we don’t win, Wenger has let experience go too soon, unlike Fergie who has kept the right experience and let go the wrong…
I feel Arsene has one more summer and my hope is that he knows it too…..
Morning agag, kev, Will and Erick.. 🙂
Morning to you too WATH, cheeky rat…. 😉
Surely Wenger can see what we need and I am hoping that Stan wants to get on the right side of the fans and gets us the players we need.
Howdy Wath been chasing paper or as you call it Wonga lol no need for the search party
Morning Will and Rico…Will to be honest Stan aint called Silent for no reason and Aw has no pressure to deliver so he will play us as usual
The big russian wants to meet up with Stan, hope he takes his cheque book with him…
Sunday Supplement..
Wenger won’t change
Wenger won’t spend
Wenger talks about buying experience, he won’t open his cheque book when it comes down to the nitty gritty
Arsenal are the vulnerable side in the top four, with Tottenham and Liverpool looking to replace them next season
2nd richest man in England Rico, it would be nice.
ashley young would cost atleast 25m so wenger would not buy him… he is what we need on on our left wing wish we get him.
Rico : “I feel Aresne has one more summer and my hope is he knows it too”
Sadly i’m not sure he does realise it. The Board are getting a bit twitchy that’s why someone had a word in his ear about trying to win the Carling Cup, but Arsene will plough on regardless, confident that he’ll be proved correct. I hope he is, but i fear he won’t and it’ll all end in tears.
Wath did you enjoy the Eurovision Song Contest last night???
terry, 15M has been set by villa, he’s in his last year of his contract…
Wouldn’t it Will, maybe that will be the partnership… 😉
The sun is shining here and its a beautiful day for golf and I was going to go, but I must watch this game today, to see if we can make that third spot our own, I hope I have not wasted a great opportunity to shoot a very low round, but I am going to keep the faith and watch these has been’s, and support them through thick and thin, and hope they show the heart that they need to be called Arsenal. if not I’m on the bottle.
then without a second thought we should go get him…
hes very good on free kicks and corners… dont remember when RVP last scored from a free kick.
also mayachi must stay onloan for another season then we mus sell arshavin and get mayachi as back up for ashley…. wht say ???
kev
I hope someone is having having a word in his ear about the future, it’s going to be tougher next season to get in the top four and if he doesn’t make changes we will be left behind and become a side fighting for the europa cup rather than CL
Thought you would have played 18 and back already Steve 😉
terry, would you take the 15M from the chavs for AA? reports are Roman wants him…
We all keep saying, wenger has plenty of players he could sell to make the money he needs…
kev, going back to your earlier, can lansbury be part of our squad today or does his loan prevent him even though his loan spell is up?
Stan and the Russian are worth over £16b between them. Now I am not suggesting a City/Chelsea style buy success but let’s get the top players we need to get us dominating before it really is too late.
Hey, rico. Working hard on a Sunday? That is sooo “No!!”
Erick, how have you been, Weeds?? Busy conquering the world, eh?
Good morning, will, AK, WATCH.
Not sure about Lansbury Rico, i thought once a loanee clubs season finished & the player returned, that he was available again? Could be something to do with registration etc…
And Steve and Terry, good day! 🙂
Will,
Citeh and the Chavs had to spend mega bucks as they were crap before they had money, we aren’t that bad off if we are honest – we need four players, they needed a lot more AND
We can sell players to make the amount we need to spend and have some change afterwards 😉
I don’t know for sure either kev, Lansbury struggled to get a first team place towards the end of his loan, he came off the bench – maybe Norwich wanted to do it with ‘their own’ rather than Lansbury going off the boil….
agag, usual for a sunday for me – don’t listen to what WATH says 😉
afc.com
‘stay online for the players lap of appreciation’
That will be very interesting 😆
Walkies time for me now, back in an hour….
Rico, I know, I just find it distasteful to spend £100m a year on players.
I think, spend £60m this summer, get in the 4 top class players we need and bang, we dominate and the kids learn from the best, not slightly older kids.
I read a story in a magazine or newspaper some while ago maybe quite a few years ago, and what it said was with spiraling costs of players and how much money is in football a lot of clubs were spiraling out of control, and that a big club had been approached to try an experiment into self-sufficiency, the piece went on and said they wanted the club to do it on their own with no help from outside agencies any loans made by the club would be made with ideas that they could pay back loans and still stay self sufficient. I have wondered for quite a few years now if that club had been in London, owing to Islington council refusing all grants and help for our stadia, what’s your view on this article, and what could it prove to every body if it were true
Where is the article?
it was in a dentist will, I picked up a mag or paper and read it and thought I would take it home with me but my mouth hurt and I forgot
going for a bath catch you later
Shame, that might have explained things but I can’t see any football club of our level agreeing to take part in an experiment that could result in relegation and loss of money.
Agag, sorry, very rude of me, good morning, how are you today?
Offski, see ya later.
Wenger said yesterday he’s not looking for players on the flanks because we have Nasri, Arshavin, Walcott and Bendtner. 3 of which are central attackers and one of which is a centre forward. So there is your answer regarding Ashley Young.
Nothing will be changing next season. Does anyone know of a bookie offering odds on us collapsing next March in exactly the same fashion?
Hi Agag, hope your well.
No wish I had kept the piece now Will, it was quite a write up, and I must admit I have forgotten most of it, and I agree with you it would of been a strange thing to take on but things have been a bit strange with us for quite a few years.
Jekyll, Wenger could be saying that because he wants flankers, he is a bit of a fencer on thing like that
Steve – he fences but it’s all parry, no thrust.
sorry got busy with sum work…
no i would not sell AA…
this is how my team would be:
scezny
sagna djouru vermy clichy
nasri song cecs young
rvp arshavin
or a 433
scezny
sagna djouru vermy clichy
wilshare cecs song
nasri/arshavin rvp young
rico, looking back on your comment at11.19 when we played City they with all their money and supposed superstars were very defensive, and never really threatened us did they, and as you say we need a few.
Yeh,good points Jekyll
terry, you think Vermy will get 90
On a different note, I have no idea how Man city fans can celebrate the FA Cup. It was bought.
whats with the celebration with their backs turned
that was my team for next season… today definately not… actually he shouldnt… dont want another injury to him guess last 30 minutes should be fine.
my thoughts too
Yann M’villa for 11.5m, ashley young for 15m would improve our squad vastly…
and we can include rosicky in the young deal..
we should sell denielson, diaby and almunia at any cost…
we could easily replace these 3 internally.
our priority should be to keep cecs and nasri..
Boo
Will
I’d love to see Wenger spend 100 Million this summer….
Hi Jekyll, i don’t believe a word of that about wingers, i’m ready for wenger to shock us with his transfers 🙂
Good morning all !
Vermalen on
Fabregas and Nasri off
I must watch today the match on Internet…
Hi JM
Are Fab and Nasri definately out?
Hope you get a good stream…
Come on you Geordies 🙂
1-1
Where is everyone, 🙂
It sounds bitter but I can’t help but think the game yesterday summed up the season for Utd as hernandez dived for a penalty and kicked the ball away. I can understand them giving it, but you can’t deny the kid has made no attempt to keep the ball and has just gone for the pen, and that there was no real contact from the keeper that wasn’t completely manufactured by hernandez.
I count 11 times Utd have avoided clear red cards this season. Imo that has made the biggest difference. Vidic scored the winner against chelsea when he should have been banned, and that has been the case several times this season. Rooney should have been suspended when he helped to knock us out of the FA cup, as another example.
I agree with the start of the article, though, no one has truly deserved to win the league, but I think Utd have just had too many things go for them. On play I believe we should have been a lot closer to the title than we were. There are clear flaws in the side, but there are clear flaws in the other sides too. Utd’s petulance and foul play are just not exposed as often because referees allow them to get away with elbows and handballs and flying kicks and 2nd bookings over and over. Fletcher pushed webb in the chest in the first game against us, and the referee did nothing.
Anyway, it’s over now, and next season will likely be very different from this. We DO have flaws in our side that will have to be addressed or our place in the top 4 will be in peril.
Hi Davi
I’m not too sure that many will disagree with you about the PL winners – decisions always seem to favor them, it’s been the same for years, many think they have the FA in their pocket…
Wouldn’t be surprised if the FA, in attempt to dispel this banned Fergie for comments made…
We on the other hand always seem to get the decisions against us – which have cost us many points this season.
@rico – My impression of the FA is that they are relatively fair. I think they would have banned rooney for the elbow, for example, but they couldn’t because the ref wouldn’t report it. Unless the media flag up an incident like that though, I suppose the won’t act. They didn’t even question the Evans kick on Drogba last season, which I think resulted in a broken rib. I suppose the ref would have said that he saw nothing wrong with the incident anyway.
The only question I have on that is: who chooses the referees for each game- the FA of the referee’s association? Because Howard Webb for some reason referees the majority of games for Utd at OT even though he apparently is the kindest referee to them. This was in a BBC article.
I’m not so sure they are fair Davi – they may react after the event but by then they have little choice, after all, the papers, the news and sports programmes have repeated whatever incident has taken place.
By the total fairness, i mean the officials, they are representatives of the FA, most of which seem to gift the PL winners with decisions on a match day…
Howard Webb is the worst, but there are a few more too….
And it’s not always what they do during a Manure match that matters Davi, it’s what they do during the matches involvimng the clubs around them, just look at the Newcastle debarcle…
4-0 up and Dowd gifted them the way back and we fell for it….
Our referee today is Michael Oliver, never heard of him 😉
I’m not sure either about the FA really. I think they’re weak, and unless an issue is flagged by the media, they won’t do anything, but the media is very pro-Utd in general, and there have been times that the FA could have let them get away with things, but chose to follow through.
Definitely agree the referee effect is not limited to the Utd matches. It is such a contrast, the way they are treated and the way we are, it’s a wonder we are anywhere near the title. Of course we get lucky with big decisions at times, but I don’t think we’ve participated in a single PL game this season where the referee mistakes have fallen in our favour overall. Always, or almost always, the net-gain goes to the other side.
The newcastle game was ridiculous. I don’t know why you say we fell for it though. Diaby fell for barton’s taunts, and the ref justly sent him off. Vieira did that many times playing for us, and we would usually still win -we never would have drawn that game, at least. We didn’t defend well enough, but the ref then gave them at least one penalty, let nolan off with the same offence as the diaby one, and then gave them a nothing freekick for their equaliser. We could have defended that one better, but still. I don’t know what we could have done to stand up to that unbelievable bias.
@ rico – that probably means he will be decent. Fair at least.
But just in that Newcastle game Davi, Barton should have been dealt with before Diaby showed what a plank he was for reacting – but yes, having reacted Diaby had to go off…..
Hope you are right about the ref 🙂
Squilli and TV at the back, now I am sure someone here suggested that pairing 😉 😉
Gibbs is in too….
Szczesny, Sagna, Vermaelen, Squillaci, Gibbs, Song, Wilshere, Walcott, Ramsey, Arshavin, Van Persie
yes, I read in http://www.eurosport.com
Juventus maybe out for the Europe Cup next season.. if the scores still does now!
Yeh, I think squillaci is getting better, and should do well with TV. Hope that works out. Gibbs has been off-form all season. Hope he has a better game today.
JM, seen the team now with them both out…
Davi – Squilli and JD didn’t concede a goal i think when they played together, i could be wrong there though… ?
Squilli is ok for a 5th choice defender, use him wisely against sides and in the cup, but – he’d never be my first choice defender and to be honest, i wouldn’t mind him being sold and replaced with better…
from http://www.eurosport.com
The club have failed to win in all six matches against Big Four clubs this season – the only other clubs without a win against them are Fulham and Wigan.
They have conceded 15 goals in these six matches. In total, they have not won in their last 11 matches against these clubs since a 1-0 victory at Manchester United in December 2009.
15:35 Since Arsenal last won the title in 2003-04, they have played 264 matches and picked up a total of 515 points. In these last seven seasons Chelsea (593) and Manchester United (587) have picked up over 70 points more than them – an average of over 10 points more per season.
15:30 Arsenal and Aston Villa have met 163 times in the league. Arsenal have won 66, Aston Villa 59 and 38 draws. They have met 37 times in the Premier League. Arsenal have won 18, Aston Villa six and 13 draws.
15:25 Arsenal thought they would be fighting for the title at this stage of the season, but instead they are battling to cling on to third place. The good news is that Thomas Vermaelen plays for the first time since September.
15:20 ARSENAL: Szczesny, Sagna, Squillaci, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Song, Wilshere, Walcott, Ramsey, Arshavin, van Persie… Subs: Lehmann, Denilson, Eboue, Chamakh, Henderson, Miquel, Bendtner… ASTON VILLA: Friedel, Walker, Collins, Dunne, Luke Young, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Delph, Downing, Bent, Ashley Young… Subs: Marshall, Pires, Agbonlahor, Albrighton, Bradley, Heskey, Cuellar… Referee: Michael Oliver (Northumberland)
Juve definetely out of the european competitions last years. (Buffon? Melo ?)
Porto unbeaten in Portuguese League
I actually think squillaci could force his way into the side next season. He has tonnes of experience and a good reputation. His major problem seemed to be a lack of undertanding with koscielny, and I think it took him a while to adjust to the team/league.
Buffon JM, in a flash 🙂
He certainly has experience Davi, maybe you are right about next season, i’m yet to be convinced though, mind you, i’m not convinced about Kos either…
Let’s win this one shall we?
Come you Arsenal, you can go into second with a win, show a bit more guts will you!!!!
AA is like a headless chicken….
CRAP!!!!!!
Fuck it, tuirned the game on just as they score.
Davi – i think that just about says all about Squilli!!
IS it another case of walking around Rico?
Yep, I was one of the many who thought Villa had over paid on Bent but…………
Seems that way Will, we are slow, sluggish and just rubbish…..
Super goal though by Bent, his first and second touch was just sublime – crap defending but credit where its due….
FECK…….
we need a goal pretty darn quick to stay in this game….
2-0? Sack the fucking entire club.
Get Arshavin off, he is doing nothing!!
Will, it’s 10 v 11 right now….
This is pathetic.
We are shit.
And we know we are…………..
And this is our bench!!!????
Denilson, Eboue, Chamakh, Henderson, Miquel, Bendtner
We are just starting to play a bit now….
Penalty???
If cesc and nasri leave…
That was a pen.
If they do they do Kt, our club is bigger than either of them, should they go, we rebuild…..
Look what the dippers have done since selling Torres….
That is not teh bench of a title challenging side.
How rubbish are we??? It is almost funny…
And that was a free kick on RvP just outside the box…..
Wenger isn’t going to rebuild rico.thats the problem.
Will, no it’s not – i know it’s the penultimate game etc etc but i don’t think anyone expected the start Villa had..
In someways, good – wenger needs a wake up call….
Pass pass pass. Pointless.
agag, i’m not laughing …. much 😉 😉
Kt, none of us know that for sure, not yet!
Rvp and the post again!
Kt, I stand by what I always say, if players do not want to play for OUR club then they can shove off – we should not be holding them to ransom or trying to persuade them to stay….
Cesc £50M
Nasri £30M
Arshavin £15M
Speaks for it’s self really…..
TV, Sagna, Wilshere, Walcott, Ches, Song, RvP, Chamakh, Kos, Gibbs, Ramsey, Lansbury, Afobe, Chuks, Frimpong, Coquelin, Ryo etc etc etc……
They are our real future – build on them….. and 100M will certainly build on them….
We must be the worst team in the league at the moment.
It just makes you sick. This sums it all up. No, we haven’t been great, and let in two goals through poor defending, but we could have had those back but for the referee. Pen and that ridiculous freekick against van persie. What is going on?!
Absolute shite….. Something has got to change!
Now tell me this refereeing isn’t fixed what the hell have we done to get a shit ref every time we play
How was f*** was that a rvp foul?
Well, that show’s we need more than a new centre back, i dont think this ref will be happy till jacks broke his leg
I think was a penalty and a red card.
But it’s Arsenal not MU…
Wallcott again. What’s is doing? If he can’t appear behind the backs, in speed, he is completely out of the game.
What the statistics say? The some, I believe…
Spuddies are now in the European cup
Villa have had 3 shots 2 of which are goals.
IS it bad?
Steve, Spot On!
Stone wall penalty, red card for Dunne and things would be oh so different…
The weakest link is AA, he is having a dreadful game….
Another one Steve, how much does LJ have to take???
The mancs would’ve had 2 penalties already.chick/shrek would’ve taken a dive if they were in rvp’s position.ramsey’s would’ve been given no doubt.
Not a happy bunny and have started on the Vodka
It’s hysterically angry laughter, rico. Grrr.
Steve, you wasted your golfing day, it seems.
Will, you can turn on the telly. Doesn’t matter. Not when our team is this pooooooooor.
Boo, KT!
3-2 anyone??
Have one for me Steve….
Chamakh for Squillaci???
Blimey….
That middle tier is empty, a point being well proved i think….
Look at the empty seats, unbelievable.
Spooky Steve 😆
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the fans walk out.
Chamakh is on.
Keep up Kt – already said that 😉 😉
They will before the lap of applause agag…
4-4-2 is looking good so far.
not good enough….
Had a really good day. Did some shopping. Was in a pub having a lovely meal when my phone bleeped twice. ‘Ah’ i thought, that’ll be my son texting me the news that we’ve scored, twice. Finished my meal, looked at my phone and just cried out wtf is going on? Well Gooners, what the f**k is going on???
Nasri is so interested, he is not even watching the game!!
Cue Wenger saying signings can’t occur till we secure CL qualification.
we conceded two soft goals kev, that’s what has been going on, and yet again, deprived of a stone wall penalty…
Nasri is probably confirming his holiday reservations in Miami…
Come on Arsene, get AA off….
Oh dear AA is dreadful…
I’m hoping he’s securing a deal elsewhere if he doesn’t want to stay….
We’re all asking the same thing, AK. Grrrr.
WTF rvp/gibbs?
That sight thrills me, but i guess Nik could be better than AA is today…
Couldn’t he??
Nah, I doubt it…..
here comes our saviour Bendy
Saviour Steve, not what i’d call him.. 😉
Half an hour, thats all we have left to save face…
Dunne shouldn’t even be on the pitch!
Agag, i haven’t got a link & BBC5Live haven’t got the game, so i’m relying on you guys
How the hell can Wenger say we don’t need a winger?
kev,
we started very slow, AV got two goals before we even woke up…
AA has been dire, clear pen for us not given, which should have seen Dunne sent off also.
other than that, same old same old..
TV slipped for their second, squilli faffed up for the first, to be fairt on bet though, his first touch was awesome and his finish was what we would love to see one of ours doing….
Collins/Dunne are gobbling up everything in the air…
Kt, why do you believe what Wenger says still?
He talks as much rubbish as Nikki B does….
Attendance 60058…
Song has been pretty darn good today….
Villa should be down to 9 men…
we are still cack though….
Kt,
that figure is wrong, they include ST holders, and by the looks of it, many haven’t bothered to go…..
Can you blame them, they are making a point and good on them too…..
For a supposed gooner Bent loves scoring against us.
Bollox, that is a crap decision, great header by Chamakh….
Ak one of them days where we are throwing everything we have at them but we couldn’t score if villa went home, you know the score tippy tappy fucking useless mate you are missing nothing having said that Chamakh scored no the ref dont like it no goal it was a good goal too
Who the fudge is this ref???
Steve, cracking goal, really strong header by chamakh… should have stood too…
This ref is some kind of c===t he sure dont like us thats for sure we couldnt have bung him
Michael Oliver agag, i’ve never heard of him….
you got too many ===== in there Steve 😉 😉
But yes, he is….
He’s another one I hate, now.
rico, on Steve’s C-word. Lol.
StevieP, just heard on SkySportsRadio. Chamakh scored a good goal… You’ve gotta wonder if, with so many Northern referee’s on the EPL, if there isn’t some hidden agenda? After all Riley is a Fergie bum boy!
Wenger is throwing bottles again.
81 mins gone villa sound at the back Arsenal knocking but villa not opening the door arsenal getting the hump as time runs out villa have been a fortress
agag, i’m furious, this ref has bashed us today, and it truly pisses me off…. i know we haven’t played that well but a proper ref would honestly made a difference today – i’m sick of it…..
We pay a fortune for tickets and then get robbed by incompetant/bent referee’s. Make your own choice. But nothing happens, the FA just continue with these useless officials. Nothing happens unless it affects ManUre.
bad feeling but ref is protecting villa should realy be down to ten men even nine but this ref likes them
arsenal sloppy and giving the ball away nicky trys a cross never got off the ground tosser
walcott ttakes a throw ball comes in robin blasts and misses another tosser
How many points have refs cost us this season??? This referee is inept beyond all possible belief.
i can accept losing when we are shite, but when a ref has totally faffed up the way this one has, it’s wrong….
ok, we were poor for the first half hour but after that we have dictated the game.
We lack a few and now its in one mans hand…
Will he or won’t he will be seen over the next few weeks….
87 mins and were attacking no lost it bent offside free kick to us attaccking goal v pers thank fuck
Rvp!!!
At least RvP got a record goal scoring tally ever in an Arsenal shirt, well done him…
Just think how many he may have scored had he been fit……. 🙁
90 mins 4mins xt free kick to us its now or never heskey on
I like the Walcott free kicks, if only someone could get on the end on them….
van per in the deep of it andis worked up were attacking free kick just outside
We won’t will we????
bollox….
robin takes and no good
seconds to go and it looks bad time wasteing all over anothe loss bollo
Well, thats it then, another home loss ….
Wakey Wakey Arsene, that should be enough to let you know just what needs to be done….
I’m not a happy bunny…..
ak what can i say we never won mate and didnt deserve too, lots of empty seats and i am not suprised some of the fans must have stayed in the pub after their walk i fucking hate referees
I feel sorry for oliver if he is writing the match report….
i tell you wenger needs to go
Vodka rico
Attendance 60023…lol.
right at the end of the bottle will have to go out and get another i still have some feeling must be the red bulls, better cut down on them
I need a shot or two, too, Steve. Will help me sleep.
Mers recons Cesc is a gonner i think he’s right, a message has been made by the fans only a few stayed for our teams lap of honor Wenger must have the message by now buy or fuck off
How many stayed?
We had opportunities to win the game. Contrary to what some may say, did not seem there was any player, little desire to win.
Taking a “hot”, the truth is that the team failed to score goals. Today he had the opportunity to score.
The first impression is that Arsenal failed to take advantage of the speed of Walcott and Arswavin, making passes to the backs of defenses. This forced them to play more centralized, with no room to maneuver and most importantly, they can apply their greatest weapon: its speed.
The second is the stubbornness to play with a 9
The third is that Song is very slow to implement what he think
The fourth is that week by week, found himself losing a goal. The next, is not to be in 4th
The fifth is that AW has finally made a substitution at the interval.
The sixth is that Squillaci is in two goals.
The seventh is that the referees’criteria vary between badges.
The eighth is that in the last four games we lose three, having won in advance who would be more difficult.
I’ll see a little of the Twente-Ajax …
I still want to know if it’s been the board or Wenger who won’t spend…
Even if its the board, Wenger is still acrook to take his wage….
I hate Vodka Steve, but right now I wish I didn’t….
Does anyone remember my 25% rule?
‘2nd is like a trophy…’ ‘my best ever Arsenal squad…’ ‘Judge me in May’…that mug Wenger has got to go.
JM, good comment….
Will, I don’t…
Kt, Wenger needs to be the one to judge Wenger right now….
Sorry Will was having my dinner Merson said about 5 thousand
Goodbye cesc.you will go down as one of our best servants.go and fulfill your potential son…
Agag wouldnt pay for me and you to get on it together tonight we’d be crying all night and moaning maybe i should drink Gin
If I dream tonight I hope its not about football
Nightnight, all. What I wouldn’t give for celebratory drinks! Steve, go get started on your next bottle.
17 corners with f*** all scoring threat.
Night agag just broke it open.
Since the CC final:3 wins,5 draws and 6 defeats…any manager in Europe would get sacked for that.
Rico, I said 25% of all shots should be a goal.
So, we had today: 24 shots at goal.
We should get 50% of target so that would be 12 on target
And we should get 50% of those as goals so 6 goals.
Or, 25% of all shots should be a goal.
He aint going anywhere KT you know that, but the missing fans may cause him a sleepless night
Fabregas out of Fulham while nasri has a little chance according to Wenger…sounds like cesc has already played his final game in the red and white shirt.
Night agag…
Kt, I see you are resigned to Cesc leaving??
Will, I remember now, albiet its not a happy truth…
Thanks for info Steve. There’s not really anymore anyone can add to what’s been said over these last few weeks. It reminds me of the terrible run Terry Neill had when he said his team couldn’t beat a team of dustbins…
Will anything change? The word is Kroenke has given Wenger £30million. Add that 30mill to whatever he earns on Fabregas and SPEND IT…
kev
most think it’s all about the sale of cesc fabregas, but what about all the others we have who could be sold?
If we sold them and used the money to really strenghten our squad, cesc and nasri would want to stay….
Rico i know, but Cesc was always going to leave, i think he and Wenger came to an understanding last summer.
The problem is, who is gonna take our rubbish and pay them the stupid wages we pay them?
I’ve got a post for you if your interested. It’s a bit of a rant…
I reckon we have problems, more than what I thought we had Cesc is almost a cert to go and Nas Man also, replacing them is gonna cause us probs plus we need extra players in as well, Wenger has never had a time when he will be busier in a transfer window, if it pans out as it looks now, and Wenger does what he gets paid for, this team will look very different next year and when I say different that’s not saying better just different.
Let’s stop talking about selling our best players, let’s talk about getting players in as good as them and win the league.
kev – every player of ours can be bought, yep, even denilson 😉
Of course interested, send it on in 🙂 thank you…
oh, forgot – so do i re the last summer cesc deal…
hey ho, if it happens it happens….
Steve, i don’t think Nasri will go and i’m still not sure about cesc – but, if they are both sold, you can bet your life wenger will do something to compensate for their loss….
I’m just looking forward to the final whistle at Fulham next sunday and then see what happens…. There are plenty of players up for sale that could make us world class again, over to wenger to get it right…
let’s see eh…
And on that note, I am off for the day…
Sick and tired of feeling sick and tired of watching Arsenal football Club right now…. 😉
Nighty, be good and enjoy the rest of your day……
Til tomorrow 🙂
Yes, the summer is now more exciting than the season.
nte nte rico, and yeh i think i’v had enough for one day nte nte all. O and be careful out there.
See ya Steve, thanks again mate.
WENGER OUT!!!
Not Wenger out but someone with balls in and someone to question the FA on why we have so many bad decisions against us.
Stop to Think
A few months ago, said those who first reach 75 points won the League. It’s confirmed. Arsenal had that chance and failed. Who can not win over 20 games, can not be champion.
The second point that merits consideration is why Arsenal failed when he could get to a place or approach, and as today, set definitely one of the first 3 places.
The third point is because he feels it does best performances and results with the top clubs (MU, chelsea, spurs, m.City, Liverpool, Barcelona, etc) and it failed with the others. And here I insist on my theory that if I became particularly evident after some games and Braga-Arsenal.
The theory is simple. As you play a team that felt it was inferior to Arsenal? As an equal? No. That play good teams with which we balance results and we have overcome. The teams have changed their system of play. As in years past, for example, asserted eleven. But in a different way.
The difference was no longer defend as advanced. This allowed to create spaces behind, providing quick counter-attacks against Arsenal, to facilitate the rapid exchange of quick ball allowing Cancellations, running behind the ball to no avail.
The solution? Join rows. Do not stand at the front, but to defend with 11 entering the area, not allowing counterattacks, plenty of space for the movement of the ball, block and play aggressively. Against the team, that not gives up shots from outside the area, has no great advantage in corners and free throws, the ball always across the grass, avoiding the crossings to the area, where all progress is made through tables, the solution is to close all roads in block, make your opponent tired, tired as little as possible, because the initiative is alwais for the Arsenal, who is unnerved Arsenal, who wears it is Arsenal, who must seek solutions is Arsenal. And the statistics are worth what they are worth: more possession to Arsenal, more corners, more suffer fouls, more shots on the side of the goal, etc.
And the opponents play for a draw? No, not to lose. Do not attack? Attack. Exploring the set pieces and always putting forward a strong win for faults and prevent progression of defenses. If they can endure the first 20 minutes (where Arsenal played really fast and often earned advantage … but over time it lost that speed), gained confidence and trust in turn, in the last 20 minutes. How? a) Relying on tax and mental wear Arsenal b) placing a more advanced function, similar to what was playing.
With the loose physical and mental, Arsenal fail in lucidity, it makes more fouls, more cheer for the opponent. Replacements add little to the team because the game model no longer works. Physical strength begins gradually to excel to the strength of the technique. It is the “power of football”against the ” football power”. In times of fatigue, mental exhaustion, the inability to score goals, “football power” has always outperformed the “power of football. ”
AW did not realize this reality. I wrote a few months ago, in my opinion, Arsenal had to look and study the opponent and what was coming, where they were to see their potential weaknesses and put a team to meet those needs. Have you always played the same way, while opponents, technically weaker, adopted a more reserved tactics, investing in a more closed and defensive solidity and united using upwards, its main advantage: the physical strength. (“football power”)
Arsenal lost the league not with the “big five”but with all other opponents which requested a different way of being in the field.
Dont usually post on here but i think it’s time to cut our losses with Wenger!! time to jettison the old fool!! sorry but cant see no other way forward for our club as the player’s that he has assembled are not good enough to wear the arsenal shirt……….
Morning..
Sorry you were stuck in moderation reggie, pop back anytime, your comments will go straight on now…
Thanks rico!!!!
New Post up…
No probs reggie, hope you pop back sometime 🙂
