Arsenal are reported to have accepted an offer from Borussia Mönchengladbach for defender Håvard Nordtveit, his contract expires in the summer and all talks have broken down so far. It’s reported that we have accepted an offer from the German club, the fee being the same as we paid for him. So there goes another youngster who had great potential, we signed him three years ago and he obviously believes he won’t get his chance. Makes a change though for us not to be letting him leave on a free.
Talking of young players getting their chances, last Tuesday evening saw Steve Bould’s side go through to the fourth round of the Youth Cup – 6-1 winners they were over Darlington. Chuks was the star of the show, grabbing himself a hatrick and setting up two – and Benik Afobe was not far behind him with two goals for himself. The sixth was scored by Daniel Boeteng.
So, Bould’s players score for fun, maybe the opposition wasn’t so strong but to score goals you have to be in the right place and once you are in the right place you must have the ability to slot home the chances. ‘Slot home the chances’ – well, Nasri apart, this seems to be one of our problems we have right now, we can’t get the ball in the net.
Afobe is away on loan at Huddersfield Town and he believes it’s doing him the world of good:
It’s very good experience for me at the age of 17 to go on loan. I’m pleased with the way it’s gone in the first month. I think I’ve adapted well and everyone has made me feel really welcome.
I think I’m going to come back to Arsenal a lot stronger. I feel a lot stronger in the month I’ve been away and hopefully that will continue in the next month.
The defenders in League One try and intimidate me before the game and even during the game but I don’t take notice of it and just try to play my own game.
It’s made me realise how much three points can mean. In a Reserve game it’s all about the development side but in League One, if we win ugly no-one cares as long as we get the three points.
I like his attitude, he’s right too, sometimes three points is all that really matters! Add to that, he told Barca to take a hike when they came sniffing…..
If he comes back in January, is it worth getting him involved more with the first team, he’s eighteen, he’s old enough and that’s because he’s good enough?
Even at seventeen, is it time to give him a few minutes from the bench, no doubt he’s watching just how good Jack Wilshere is doing, surely it’s time for him to have a taste??
We cry out for competition within the squad, well, in these two players we have just that. Then we have Henri Lansbury and Aaron Ramsey coming back in the New Year….
And, what about Ignasi Miquel, the 6′ 4″ Spanish defender.
He’s another one that will soon burst onto the scene – he’s already getting rave reviews could he be another option if our defence keep getting it wrong? I don’t know the answer but sure as heck, if Wenger isn’t going to spend in January, he needs to look at whats already at the club.
Maybe his trip to the youth cup was all about just that?
Chelsea or Sunderland await Bould’s boys in the next round, I bet they’ll be ready for either!
So, what is next for these three young players, a loan, a chance in the first team? Or will they end up like Nordtveit, get fed up with waiting for their chance and seek pastures new.
I’m not for one minute suggesting they get thrown straight in at the deep end, but, what realistically is next for them?
Have a good day all
Morning anyone 😉
Hi Rico, and good morning to you too! 🙂
A really nice Post and one I would have liked to have written.
These kids are going to be great. Pity about Nordveit. 🙁
Morning RA, thank you 🙂
It is a shame about Nordtveit, I thought wenger was in the process of turning him into our next right back…
Kyle Bartley is further along in his development than Miguel, and also has more to his game, and its likely he will be part of the first team squad next season, just ask sheffield utd fans what they think of Bartley if you want to know about this lads ability, they love him.
SNOW
hi eduardo, that’s good news re Bartley, he seems to have been around for years, he’s another one that deserves a chance then… My concern though is will they get their chances?
Thanks George, I had not noticed! 🙂
Eduardo is right. I watched Bartley for the youth teams, when he was not injured, and he is a classy player.
Miguel will be a star too, and hopefully for us rather than a Spanish club.
Me neither 😉
I suppose this is what wenger means about killing off players if he buys, albeit i don’t agree with him, wenger would have been better to buy two older defenders in the summer who have 2/3 seasons in them at the top of their game, giving the likes of Bartly and Miquel chance to train with them and learn…
What’s Kos, 23?
i have 2 say well sed i agree with wot u say but to but them in might b a bit to much but next year with out fail they have to have some games in the prem they r just as talented as jack in chuks i do think we have a world beater he has the lot pace power and 1 hell of alot of skill
aaaa – I’m not sure about Afobe, I know he’s only 17, but he’s already out on loan gaining experience. I can honestly see him getting his chance soon. He’ll be 18 in Feb, i don’t think it will be too long a wait for him
I wonder how much the 25 man squad rule has had on the transfer of Nordtveit? It seems we need to cut our loses on some of the ‘homegrown’ players to keep up the quota…no?
Chuks – Arsenal
Afobe – Arsenal
Miguel – ?
Bartley – hopefully Arsenal
Frimpong – Arsenal
Coquelin – ?
others no
Hi DG, that’s a good question, i’m not totally up on the 25 man rule but doesn’t his age mean he doesn’t have to be named as part of the squad?
Chuks – Arsenal
Bartley – maybe
Afobe – Arsenal
Miquel – maybe
Frimpogn – Arsenal
Coquelin – maybe
others no
Hello!
I’m a big fan of both Aneke and Afobe, i really hope that Afobe will stay with huddersfield for the remainder of the season, and gain experience, and be ready for the carling cup next year. Aneke also looks the real deal for me, why not loan him out too? Bartley is strong, pacey and has that Campbell attitude over him… but they cannot all make it i guess.. I just don’t know why djourou isn’t getting any chances, he’s really strong, and better than both squillaci and koscielny IMO
I just checked on afc.com
Havard Nordtveit was under the age of 21 on January 1, 2010 and therefore it was not necessary to name him in Arsenal’s official Premier League squad.
Hi DK, JD is the one big mystery, for me he is our best CH on this seasons form, it seems wenger is reluctant to over play him due to his injury last season but i think most fans believe he should be starting… i know i do..
The two A’s, i see both of them making it with us but yes, both need a loan and Bartley is already gaining experience.
We knew these youngters were out there, just wish they were all two years older, now 😉
Hi Jason, I was gutted when Frimpong got injured, he really looked good in pre-season, he’s definately got a big future with us, i’m not sure on Coquelin, once a DM and now a RB, I don’t get that at all…
Miquel – well, i think he will stay with us too, unless his home comes a calling…
What I wouldn’t give for afobe and aneke to be 2-3 years older, i think they would be ripping defences apart in the EPL.
I’m just afraid, that if we don’t start winning the big trophies soon it will backfire on us for having so much patience with these youngsters… Afobe may have said to Barcelona to bugger off right now.. but for how long can he resist their “magnificent-out-of-this-world” football? 🙁
Thats what worries me too DK, could you blame them??
good enough = old enough in my book…
Morning all.good read again rico.the 25 man rule is already having an impact and youngsters who fail to peak early will have to be let go.its a sad scenario as late bloomers may not get the chance to blossom in top clubs.
Well i guess there is no much news today then.
Spineless Chavs cancelled their game 24hours before it was due, why? I don’t know. There was no snow yesterday, they could have cleared the pitch and the roads were all road worthy.
Health and safety ? I don’t think so i just think they got the chill and were not sure they were going to beat Manure Utd. Too bad though , i was looking forward to that game.
that’s what worries me too rico.. and I don’t blame them. I wouldn’t blame fabregas if he left right now, shutting his door on the way.. He’s still a legend IMO. he’s always given his best for us, but when he know that he can be a part of a team that perhaps is the best team EVER, why wouldn’t he take a chance? he’s been more than loyal towards us if you ask me.. for example, i love little jack, but he cannot play as many games as cesc, denilson, diaby etc. because he’s too young, and his body cannot cope with the pace just yet.. it’s the same with afobe and aneke, it would be putting too much pressure on them already, don’t you think?
Morning KT, thanks…
The 25 man rule doesn’t apply to the likes of these players in the post, their age means they don’t count and can be played whenever, sometimes i think wenger should throw a few into the mix, if nothing else it will kick the lazy ones up the butt and let them know their places should not be taken for granted..
Jack has shown age matters little when you have what it takes….
Hi SD, there is little news to write about, agree but i’m doing my best 😉
DK, you are right about their young bones and Jack needs a rest, to be fair though i think he is fitter than Diaby, Theo, AA, Cesc etc, he seems to go down, get up and shake off his knocks, he’s made of sturner stuff…
However, long term effect will be what hurts, Michael Owen is proof of that… But, at the same time why not pick and choose a few games to give them a place on the bench and should be be 3/4 up give them minutes at the end, just to keep them interested…
Bonjour Housers, first off it’s great to wake up & see the Arsenal in top2 even after the customary November disaster… Second, I’m not happy that we r letting Nordveit go. In the brief minutes that I’ve managed to catch of him, the impression I had was that of a sound young defender both technically & positionally.. Guess Wenger thought diff. On the other hand it also affirms my belief that leProf never makes a wild gamble on a defender
Hi Rennie, what about Kos, he’s a bit of a gamble 😉 😉
Seriously, like i suggested earlier, i thought Nordy was going to be challenging sagna, the club are holding talks and hope to keep him but it seems its the player who wants out…
Rico, good o’ U to take up a constructive theme despite being surrounded by ice-cold limpidity
Rico im writing a post specifically about theo.i have got this gut feeling that we’ll beat barça but i still don’t believe it.i feel theo,rvp10 and kozzer will play big roles.
I don’t think losing Nordveit is a big problem. He doesn’t have the pace to play RB and didn’t set the world alight on loan. Don’t think he ever would’ve made it.
I have a friend who is a mad Sheffield utd ran and he reckons Bartley is gonna be the real deal, best cb in the division and only 19.
Chuks and benik are interesting, I’d like to see them go out on loan to the same champ club next season, they have a great partnership so I’d try to keep it together. The fact that Chuks is too good for reserve football at 17 is remarkable, could be a bigger talent than Wilshere.
Thanks Rennie 🙂
Thanks KT, I have a post ready for tomorrow, so yours will really help out…
You have yo answer in yo question there Rico.. The very reason Wenger trumped up 7-8 mill on Kozzer when we had (what seemed like promising) youngsters already @ home leaves me with some assurance that he had done his homework on him & concluded that what we had was not that good or not yet ready. So he wasn’t trying to pinch pennies or blindly giving opportunity to youngsters who are nowhere near first-team ready.. I know we all wish that he had doubled the money & landed G.Cahill or B.Hangeland, but let’s be realistic he’s neva gonna break the bank for a defender, is he!
hi gambon,
good idea about sending the ‘double a’ out to the same club, i’d love to see them go to a prem club too.. one like west ham, where they would def get a game…
thats great to hear about bartley, eduardo posted similar earlier about how good he was doing…
Rennie, i thought he paid more than that for Kos? Thats a lot for an unknown quality…
Like you though, I would have rather we got cahill…
Gambon, I agree that Nordveit was never gonna make it as a RB.. I was hoping that he’d start of as a backup RB, get some valuable 1st team exp & then cut it as a technical CH in the end… As regards Bartley, though he has been earning good reviews in Sheffield, I don’t really think that Wenger would bring him into the 1st team yet. The stumbling block being he’s not that good on the ball with his feet (Wenger has always insisted that his offence starts from good distribution at the back).. But if he does make it, he would bring some steel in to the defense me thinks
What i like is:
Bartley – 6’3″
Miquel – 6’4″
At last, some height coming through, right now JD is our tallest…
If Ryo miyaichi turns out to be a gem we’ll finally have a dynamic dribbler to break down the bus.we could also make millions from the untapped Asian market.
Miquel looks very similar to pique but i hope unlike the stain he actually adapts to the PL especially against speedy and agile forwards.
Rico
What I like is;
Szczesny – 6’5″
Bartley – 6’3″
Miguel – 6’4″
Aneke – 6’3″ (still growing)
JET – 6’3″
Afobe – 6’0″
Even though frimpong is a bit shorter he’s an absolute tank.
It will be hardvto bully future arsenal teams.(that said i dont think JET is really in wengers plans).
Rico, I think the fee was less than 10mill.. (not sure tho) I kno it looks like a gamble but he really hasn’t done that bad for me. He’s very fast, remember he easily outpaced Torres in the opening game… What surprised many was how he managed to stand his ground with the Drogster in the game against the Chavs despite being very lightweight! But he’s rash in going for the ball & thereby leaving gaps around, but I think he’ll improve & repay that hefty fee… Lets judge him after he’s played a season at least
Rico, you are doing a good job i just thought it was dry news wise out there.
Also MAnu Adebayor(Does anybody remember him)might be linked to Westham loan. How are the Mighty(oops)i mean the stupid fall.
What was he thinking leaving Arsenal in the first place ?
Are U guys sure that Miguel & Aneke are that tall?.. They sure don’t look that in the pics. That means we have players who could end up growing taller than LeProf.. I always found it strange that he’s been buying players so small especially in defense, generally tall guys have that superiority complex dont they?
lol SD..
I believe the prob with GreedybaWHORE is that his brains are not where they’re supposed to be (further down south, way further 🙂
morning all. interesting – and somewhat illuminating – comments from cesc regarding our vaunted “mental strength”. some of us have long suspected this, and certainly we have froze on more than one big recent occasion.
And I think it was Wenger’s decision to let him go (GreedybaWHORE woulda stayed had we upped his pay).. I mean who in their right mind wouldave kept that whorin’ b@st@rd?
The answer to that is equally numb skulled geniuses who have oil for brains
Hi oliver.cesc has finally said what we long suspected.its about time our sports psychologist, jacques crevisier, attended to this.if barça smell that fear they’ll dominate us similar to the first leg opening stages at the Emirates.
morning k…yes, like it or not – and i don’t like it, not one bit – chelsea and man united have owned us during the past few seasons. until we beat both of them again – and the players show themselves they can beat these sides – we will probably continue to see both performances and results similar to the one at old trafford last monday. we try again in one week’s time against chelsea – we just have to keep at it, sooner or later, we will beat these sides.
More of a forgone conclusion Oliver… The question is how do they rid themselves of that ‘fear of losing’ as Cesc calls it?
Winning one of these bouts should build up the confidence, but u can’t win with that fear in the mind… Its a vicious cycle I tell ya.. We need a voodoo charmer to break that!
and i don’t mean to limit this strictly to chelsea and united. witness our performances in the second half against the spuds and the entire match at braga. more often than not, when the pressure is at it’s highest, we seem to struggle.
KT, i hope this guy recovers from his broken leg 🙁
gambon, re your earlier, i cannot disagree more, roll on eh, and i like frimpong, big time, shame he’s chosen not to play for england…
Rennie, i’m not writing him off just yet, changing to the pace of the EPL cannot be easy, just think wenger isn’t helping him by throwing him in at the deep end..
SD, was just kidding you 😉
Morning oliver..
Oliver U’re right about all the panicing in the spuds game (2nd half), but I don’t think that was the case for the Braga loss… On that night they defended well & we didn’t have our offensive game goin, then they hit us with a sucka punch… Not sure where I’m goin with this, guess what I’m trying to say is that losing to a lesser team on an off day is acceptable, happens to anyone… Consistently losing to yo main rivals when U r expeced 2 bring yo A game, is not a characteristic of a title winning side!
Oliver i fully agree.man for man we are better than the mancs but they seem to own us.the game at old trafford we were afraid not to lose and thats why when we won the ball our players never got forward effeciently for fear of being countered.we did not impose our game on them unlike in the same fixture last year.barça will play the same way against everyone as they have that belief that we don’t especially in big games.our fragility in defense plays on our players minds and i suspect thats the root of the problem.a convincing perfomance and result and maybe a cleansheet may go a long way in beginning to resolve this problem.
ah, the cesc comments, now that is my subjsect for tomorrows post, all done and ready for debate 😉
now its doomed 😉
Rico koscielny has been getting lots of criticism but while some is justified others aren’t.vermy adapted immediately but kozzer needs 6 months to do so as he doesn’t have much top flight experience.i believe apart from some rash challenges he is our best defender on the ground and thats why i have said he will be vital against barça.lets hope he’ll have settled by then.
We will also need fabianski on top of his game against barça since his superb reflexes will be put to the test.he is also a good reader of the game and that will be vital as he’ll have to come off his line to collect those through balls that barça love using.
He’s a bit slow though KT but he does read the game, i don’t even think his challenges have been rash, i just think he’s a victim of pace, pace which has yet to adjust to – have to say though JD is my best defender this season…
rennie, i felt our team played tight and inhibited at braga – and against a garbage side, no less. we were nervous, unable to get our passing game going, and i thought afraid to take risks lest we jeapordize the point we needed for the round of sixteen. i absolutely thought we played scared there – against one of the worst teams we are likely to see for a long, long, time.
morning rico…sorry that we stole your proverbial thunder…
I don’t think Fabianski will be playing by then, Szczsney will have the number one shirt, however, thats just my opinion, the next few matches will determine if Fabianksi is injured, or he’s been dropped.
If he’s injured, i find it quite strange that he was on the bench for the mancs…..
Ha ha oliver, it matters not honest, its one of two topics in a post and to be fair, posts are just something to get us all chatting, we all go off and talk about whats on our minds, thats what its all about…
🙂
Expect more sales, Wenger will be buying in the next month without question, he has started to build his funds, i expect he has somebody lined up, it is just about has he got enough yet, no doubt in my mind though a new player will definitely be coming
Hi Steve,
I am not sure our club has ever had more money in it’s account than right now, i’m not sure he needs to be saving…..
gambon, you still around??
just wondering why you think JET is not in wengers plans?
Hi Rico, the mans a scrooge he hates to spend money he has believe me a new player is on the way
Rico, even if we don’t have to sell for financial reasons, we havta sell to create space to bring in someone new. Already there are rumblings in the squad from players who aren’t getting any action on the pitch. No way can Wenger keep harmony in the squad if he did buy without letting go those who play all the wrong notes
Steve, we’ll soon find out, the window opens Jan 1st, if he has someone in mind then we will see them signed within the first few days of the window, plenty of time then for them to be ready for Barca in Feb…
Rennie, my hunch is a few could go in jan too, nikki and vela are top of my hunch list, not that i hope vela goes, but….
nikki is looking more likely to move, where does his partner live?? Is he a dad yet he/she was due over the last few days
Ah, she had a little boy 🙂
Could be a Happy New Year i predict a double signing Drogba and Parker but it could still be a couple of Chinese for the restaurant
CH and DM would do me Steve, i’d be happy with that… keep what we have until the summer, sales are always better in the summer 😉
Don’t forget, there’s a hell of a lot of work coming up in Russia, Abramovich would not go to all the trouble of the world cub bid and getting Arshaven involved i can foresee a mass exodus
Not being funny Steve, what has Russia winning the WC bid and us got to do with eachother??
You suggesting AA will go?
Talking about the WC, I now know why England didn’t win…. 🙂
Ok, I’ll share…
Brazil are hosting the 2014 WC but they are in a bit of pickle, there is suggestion that they may not get all they need to ready in time for the competition.
In 2012 the work in Brazil will be assessed and if they are not going to be ready, the WC will be coming to England….
I know you dont want to hear it but he’ll go, if not now in the summer had it been my decision i would sell him, a man that cannot find fitness is a passenger and our team as it is, cannot afford passengers
Sorry Rico, we will never see another World Cup in this country in our lifetime, if there were problems they would get aid and support from everywhere even us
Steve, i am not fussed whether AA goes or not :)actually, i am not fussed about the WC either 😉
Hello everyone.
rico, i can’t comment on the reserves because I never get to see them, however how many home grown players have come through the ranks since we lasted tasted success ?
By the way me being a fshion icon, how can cesc wear a smoking /dinnerjacket with a white shirt and purple tie ?
i wish tomorrow’s post was up today, as i have a lot to say 🙂
AA’s quite the character! I kno he’s not the kind that many like, but I do like what he brings to the squad… It would be foolish to let him go without bringing in someone similar and NO there is no one that gud who can play in his position in the youth team right now
Hi kelsey, i used to watch the reserves when ATV was on ESPN, but sadly the club put an end to that, its a great shame…
you’ll just have to wait until tomorrow 😉 and re cesc, i would say no 😉
Rennie, have you ever considered Cliche in that position,he gets a fair bit of stick for his defending but he is still a very good all rounder Gibbs can fit in left back no probs in actual fact be interesting to see them share the roles
Rennie, i wouldn’t choose to let him go but something is missing from his game, i don’t know whats wrong with him this season, well apart from being on the porkie side 😉
Steve, i would say no on Clichy playing there, his crossing is dire… Maybe Gibbs would be the better option but if AA goes, lets get a proper player to replace him, enough of make doing…..
Hazard?? Is he a left sided winger?
Steve, playing Clichy forward would give us extra width on the left side, but would that lead to goals?.. With AA, U can expect a goal or an assist every other game.. However Clichy as a winger is a great idea, it’s Clichy as a defender that’s beginning to cause a lot of underwear soiling
Not disagreeing with you Rico but how often has the super AA sprinted down the wing and fired a left foot cross over, he cant kick it further than ten yards anyway
Traore was tried playing more forward and if anyone gibbs could fit into that slot.
I often wonder when our players are amongst the elite as how rarely they can put a decent cross into the box.
That’s not fair Steve.
The trouble with AA is that the pace of the PL together with his lack of stamina over a full 90 is his downfall, which makes him a bit of a luxury player.
regardless of his assists, his play this year has sometimes been very poor .
Rico, E.Hazard is actually very much like AA – right footed technical wizard who plays on either side of a striker & cuts in to take a shot at goal.. Stands a whopping 5 ft 7inches too, would make a typical Wenger signing. But he’s not a Winger!… We desperately need a proper Winger who can take on full backs in the wing, it’d be splendid if he was a lefty to boot
Trouble is, wenger likes to keep the ball on the ground, no doubt all the training is around the short sharp pacey passing, maybe its time to add crossing in to his training methods, oh and shooting, and defending and goal keeping 😉 😉
I don’t think he’s that bad Steve but i agree with kelsey, he fades in a game quite quickly, too many pies and pasties and not enough pasta in his diet…
Thanks Rennie, i thought Hazard was an out and out winger, how wrong a girl can be 😉
kelsey, is much being said in spain about Barca hoping to sign Denilson??
Eljero Elia, a young Dutch winger who plays for Hamburg, is an excellent prospect! I’ve seen him play a handful of times for both Hamburg & the Oranje. He’s got silky skills & he looks to be equally comfortable on either wing… He would be expensive but not overtly so & havin already lost out on Afellay, I really want us to bring this guy to the grove
Rennie, forgive me but you are looking at clicky as a left back, that is where Wenger goes wrong, he is a left back when he plays left back, but we really need utility players in our team so many players get injured and if we never try these players in different positions we could be missing out, the same as Walcott he is not and never will be a winger but Wenger perseveres with playing him there, he could be a great center forward, or on the left its about teamwork, and trial and error
Rico, don’t wanna seem too fawning, but from where I come from it’d be a miracle to find a sport loving representative of the fairer sex like yoself. U’d be one in a million, a helluva catch 😉
rico, Spain is like 2 countries with the catalans and us down here. When spain won the WC the barca players were hardly mentioned,so all the local news is always about R.M.So i have read nothing about denilson.
Rennie, i understand where you are coming from, but haven’t we seen enough young players come through the doors? Personally I’d prefer a 25 year old who’s already a good/great player to be bought….
😳 😳 Rennie… kind words my friend, thank you…
Ah, i forget Spain has the divides, just like the Uk kelsey, why i’ll never really understand…
The Daily Mail are running the story today, a different paper ran it a couple of days ago, they suggest Cecs is too expensive so they want denilson, didn’t they get Afellay? How many midfileders do they need, they’ll soon have as many as us 🙂
why do i always spell midfileders wrong 😉
Rico,
Brazil will never let an opportunity to host a world cup pass them by. They will rather borrow and slip back into their debt ridden years than lose hosting rights to the world cup.
England should forget hosting it and get back to the politics of making sure its own people are planted in the FiFA governing board. Simples.
Also don’t forget that Brazil is doing fantastically well economic wise.
Guys and Gals, i have to go out driving in the snow 🙁
Catch up later on, if I get stuck, i’ll catch you tommorrow 😉
SD, a case of another stupid story in the paps then, why do they bother…
The Daily Mail story is from “a reporter”, and is full of ifs and butts.
There is a huge influx of South Americans here in Spain, so IF Denilson were to go,i would presume Spain would be his preferred choice. Is he really good enough or a replacement for cesc, purely based on price ?
If you think of it very few S.Americans stay in the PL that long, compared to their european counter parts especially from northern Europe.
With Barcelona it’s not the weather it’s the culture.
Yeahp Rico
Brazil, have one major problem and that is crime with plenty of no go areas.it is an issue.
Kelsey!
If i am given a ticket to the Quarter finals through to the finals, all expenses paid with feeding and 5 star accommodation to the world cup in Brazil?
I am still not going .
Hoorah, i haven’t got to go out now 😆
So we play Chelsea next week , i think they were glad it snowed. They wouldn’t have coped with playing us just after playing Man utd .
But i think it might be a blessing in disguise because if they had lost against Man utd they definitely will not like to loose against us.
So right now they will have no clue how to approach the game against us, i just hope Wenger has a clue and the guys are not scared; according to CESC.
kelsey, if denilson was that good, they or another big club would have snapped him up by now, or, he would have been playing more for us.. 😉
mme, i wouldn’t go to brazil either to be honest, so many off the track places that can end up in all sorts of trouble, bit like in London really 😉
I think cesc is bluffing.he is really looking over his shoulder at city and spurs as well as the mental block with United and Chelsea.
You’s be nuts to go to brazil 😉
Mexico is worse
Rico,
I have just seen Young Guns reporting that our young Brazilian left back Miguel has had such a wonderful season that any number of clubs want to sign him.
And he is 6’4″. Only a year left on his contract with us at the end of this season. Typical!
You must have been watching someone else’s reserves on ESPN, because I paid £10 to watch our kids on Sentander. 🙂
Kelsey, there’s an awful lot of coffee in Brazil! 🙂
Looking forward to your Post tomorrow. I am intrigued! 🙂
afternoon all…ra, please don’t ask me about the collapse – it simply does not get any worse than yesterday afternoon.
Really SD & Kelsey?… Guys don’t play havoc with my dreams. I’ve been thinkin of saving up for a vacation in Rio 4 quite some time now.. The beaches, the Samba beauty Queens, all that awesome stuff to get high on.. & some WC footy action on top.. TOO much temptation to put up any sorta resistance me thinks
I’m allergic to them kelsey 😉
Hi RA, you are right, Setanta 🙂
Oliver, let’s make a deal …. I won’t ask, you don’t tell! 🙂 Disappointment in the EPL and the NFL.
I actually watched most of the game Oliver. 38:31 Pah! 🙁
Rico, I spelt it wrong, so my joke backfired on me! 🙂
Hi oliver
RA, don’t get too excited about tomorrows post, you should know me by now 😉
Its just a thought i have 😉
ra, for 52 minutes and 32 seconds, it was heaven – the best team in the nfc. the final 7:28 however, once the game was all-but-won….
Hi all.barça scored 31 goals before conceding 1 which was against espanyol.if we are off-key it could get ugly…
anyone live near or in London on here,as my daughter is booked to fly in on the 26th and come back on the 2ndJanuary and must be in Madrid for the 4th.I think it might be a risk as I hear that more snow is forcast. What do you think ?
“The beaches, the Samba beauty Queens, all that awesome stuff to get high on.. & some WC footy action on top.. TOO much temptation to put up ” said rennie.
I have got all of that here on my doorstep.
Oliver,
Stop it. It spoilt my Sunday evening, big time. Inexplicable! 🙁 To give away 28 points in the last 8 minutes. Sheesh! Jackson’s return punt leading to the winning touchdown was too awful to stomach. Eli played well I thought, as did Manning. It sticks in my throat to admit it but Vick did play well for them.
Now we are at the Packers next Sunday and I’m not sure I can bring myself to watch.
Anyway …. enough said!
Kelsey,
It depends on whether it is Heathrow or Gatwick.
Heathrow has really got its knickers in a twist. Friends of mine who were booked to go to Canada for a family Xmas reunion had to sleep on the floor, and then their flight was cancelled.
Gatwick seems to be running more normally now. The forecast says it is slated to snow at Heathrow tonight and with a possibility of heavy snow on Wed/Thurs.
Many trains/motorways have come to a halt. Eurostar is buggered.
Sorry not to give you better news. Hopefully the forecasts are wrong and it will work out for your daughter. Fingers crossed.
Thanks RA,
it would be Gatwick.
ra, i think we will win in gb – as long as we don’t sulk and feel sorry for ourselves this week. they lost at ne in last night’s late game. qb aaron rodgers may still be unavailable through injury, and our d-line should be able to dominate the o-line.
predictably, all the bill cowher to nyg stories resumed this morning. john mara quickly rubbished them, but we’ll see what happens at the end of the season – in my mind, keeping coughlin just got a little more difficult. if they don’t make the playoffs, or lose in the first round, i think tc is done at the end. and the next head coach will be either cowher – who won the sb with pittsburgh in 2005 and reportedly is waiting for this job, or john fox, who will be out in carolina, and has links with nyg, as the defensive coordinator on jim fassel’s 2000 sb team.
Oliver,
I just don’t know what would be the best for us.
Bill Cowher seems OK but I think I would prefer to stick with Coughlin.
Who knows?
Nikki B is not planning on going then, he says he’s out to show how good he is, fighting talk eh, good….
Kelsey, if that’s true then U r one lucky bloke!… But not everyone’s fortunate enuf to have all that in their doorstep. So the rest of us, we go seekin’ & that’s what I believe some call a pilgrimage
Rennie,
I think that’s what some call being male! Asl Rico. 🙂
Bendy is always talkin’ the talk. It’s about time he walks the walk.
Too right RA, Bendys words are cheap to date….
Rico,
You are a sweetheart! I thought I had been abandoned!
Now I must whizz off, as the beautiful vino is calling. 🙂
BTW, where are Agag, Wath? I miss them! 🙁
Tomorrow. (I have a great photo montage for you but I am having difficulty sending it as my stupid email system is playing up. I will try tomorrow again.) 🙂
I dont know where they are RA, my guess is busy at work, they always are 🙁
You been writing, good news that is RA, you make sure you keep trying to send your email 🙂
Enjoy the vino and the rest of your evening….
Nite Rico, 🙂
Nighty Night RA, I’m following you off for a glass of vino 😉
Catch you all tomorrow, stay safe all….
Ignasi Miquel has no loyalty to Barca. They let him go at the age of 12 telling him he wasnt good enough.
Aneke,Afobe,Bartley and Miquel are all quality and all will be Arsenal first team players.
This FA Youth Cup side has better players than Jacks winning side.Jack carried that team and i can only see Bartley,Lansbury and Frimpong along with Jack making it at Arsenal.
This side has Damian Martinez,Ignasi Miquel,Nico Yennaris,Oguzhan Ozyakup,Kyle Ebicilio,Benik Afobe and Chuks Aneke.
Hi Sean, sorry for the delay, you were held in moderation, comments will go straight up from now..
Re Miquel, I have no dobt he has no loyalty to Barca, but so many Spanish players seem to want to return home these days, especially ours, Reyes, Merida and of course the on going saga with you know who…
New Post up…
