That’s in the headlines today.
Nuri Sahin was tipped to join Liverpool within the next few days on a season long loan but it seems that Arsenal have asked him to have a re-think. Alex Song appears to be on his way to Barcelona and Wenger wants Sahin to fill the void left. The player prefers to be at a club playing in the Champions League and it’s reported he favours joining us in any case, so we could yet see Nuri in an Arsenal shirt this coming season.
One we can’t wait to see fit and playing this season is Jack Wilshere and he’s our new number ten. The club are expected to confirm the squad numbers today before the new campaign kicks off tomorrow and of course the new captain will be announced. Thomas Vermaelen has to be favourite with either Mikel Arteta or Laurent Kosceinly as his deputy or maybe even Bacary Sagna?
Kyle Bartley, despite being given a squad number already this summer has now joined Swansea City in a deal believed to be around £1 Million. This makes me believe Arsene Wenger has plans to add a more experienced defender to the squad.
Hopefully one who can play anywhere across the back line, certainly left back as we still look vulnerable in that position.
That’s the gossipy stuff out the way…..
A year ago, Francis Coquelin was very much one of our promising young players, on the fringe of things.
Expectations for him were a run in the Carling Cup, maybe an appearance or two in the Premier League and Champions League.
Just 12 months later and Le Coq is very much a part of this Senior Squad with the prospect of playing a full part in the forthcoming season.
As well as Coquelin, we could also see a genuine home-grown lad emerging in Nico Yennaris.
Nico is a player of high technical ability and also one with a mature tactical head on his shoulders, a player who hasn’t looked out-of-place in an Arsenal XI.
These two are in the vanguard of an exciting generation of young players, one which begun with Jack Wilshere, that will gradually be fed into the Senior Squad from our increasingly productive Academy.
Believe me, we have a whole bunch of talented youngsters on the cusp of making the breakthrough.
Serge Gnabry, Thomas Eisfeld, Kristoffer Olssen, Chuba Akpom, all of these lads are quality…
Fortunately they have had the benefit of joining a Senior Squad that is now full of experienced, quality Internationals as Wenger’s transfer business over the last 12 months has seen a re-balancing of the squad with the likes of Arteta, Mertesaker, Podolski, Cazorla etc.
The balance between youth and experience looks right. There is a tightness to our team, a good shape and our defence looks like it can defend again which should help form the bedrock of a winning team.
It’s been a long time since I looked forward to a season with as much enthusiasm as i’m looking forward to this one!
I feel that Arsene has finally rediscovered that formula that he had temporarily lost, a trophy winning formula.
You can tell that we Arsenal fans are not alone in these feelings of optimism. Positive vibes can be picked up from the Press/Media.
A Media/Press that is staunchly anti-Arsenal..
Even those harbingers of doom cannot rain on our parade.
Those in the Media/Press have some of the biggest ego’s you’ll ever come across, they love to be right and they love to tell everyone about it when they are!
So if those egotists in the media are picking up the positivity, then we must have one hell of a good squad.
Not even the departure of one man can change that….
Written by Allezkev
So I am hearing that we had another Vieira situation, that RVP decided that he would stay, but before the Koln game Wenger told him that he was done and was no longer in Wegner’s plans, has anyone else heard this?!
Morning all. Nice piece again Kev, made better still by the non-mention of Van Persie.
http://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/song-valen-despistes-2186263
BBC report yesterday Paul.
By the looks of things the Sahin transfer may well come our way.
Anchorman?
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11670/7996600/Biglia-on-Wenger-agenda
Morning all….
Really good read Kev, upbeat and just what the doctor ordered. My hunch is that either Nico or Le Coq start at right back tomorrow rather than jenks…
I am going to try my hardest not to mention him today….
Saw that Biglia yesterday Syg, not the first time we have been linked to him this summer…
More on the Song transfer
http://www.mundodeportivo.com/20120817/fc-barcelona/el-arsenal-aprieta-song-25_54338103878.html
Anyone have the info on Biglia? What tipe of player he is, good average or bad?
You already read this, Rico?
http://www.ad.nl/ad/nl/1052/Premier-League/article/detail/3302500/2012/08/17/Gestoorde-Arsenal-fans-bedreigen-Bouchra-van-Persie.dhtml
Good Morning AKB’s
Good Morning Rico, very nice subbing there m’lady.
Morning SYG, cheers mate….
Was having a good chuckle at reading last nights discussion on ‘skirt’ between Stan & Cowboy…
And Stanley needs very little encouragement. 🙂
WHat’s the feeling on Sahin then?
We could all do with some more good news methinks.
Morning Paul.
TT – 5′ 10″ DM I read, don’t think he’s that bad 😉
Morning Kev, I can’t see why he would choose Liverpool over Arsenal, it wouldn’t make sense.
I’m with you on that one Paul.
Mourinho’s interference or Wenger’s hesitation is the only reason’s i could see in missing out on him.
Morning all…sahin and a DM, let’s go Gunners!!!
I think Arsenal will win trophy this year because of this squad
Sagna Subotic Verma Baines
Jeniks Mertis Kosci Gibbs
Song Diaby
M’villa Wilshere
Coqulin Sahin (Ramsey, Arteta)
Cazorla
Rosciky
Walcot Gervinho
Chamberlin Rosciky
Giroud
Podoliski
we really need to buy baines and Subotic for backup of Bartley and Djourou and we do not need Djourou in this squad, he is not good enough fr this club. if he is available, M’villa he is a good backup for song if he gets injured and Sahin on lone for Wilshere Backup and then believe me we will win not a trophy but trophyssss.
Early start today. Le professeur(wenger) has really changed. Quite unusual for prof to hold an early presser. Looks like we are going to see a ruthless wenger this season. which is a good omen. Glad Sahin deal is back
Don’t understand why Mourinho wouldn’t want him to join Arsenal? The player himself does want to join!
History between him and Wenger, plus his friendship with Rodgers i suspect Paul…
Hola Lee… On the beach?
Morning Emma. Yes, maybe a combination of Uncle Bouldy in his ear, his new glasses and RIP’s defection (from last January it seems) has had a galvanising effect on LeProf…
That’s all a bit silly by fans Syg….
Morning Kev, Reckon Sahin could be a possibility, he wants to join us, just seems Jose is the stumbling block….
Morning Lee, Syg, Esp, emma – anyone else i missed 😉
I reckon we need a defender, we can’t rely on Miquel and JD if we suffer an injury…
Thomas Vermaelen confirmed as captain, according to reports…
Arteta is vice captain
from afc.com
Wubeygunner
Can’t see AW getting those on your wishlist….
Wubey, like that squad Gooner, but Song and Sahin?
Think it’ll be or the other…
Subotic is a great call. KT will back you 100% on him…
But he’d never be just a squad player mate…
Having wrote/typed that (!) i’d take him anyday.
Vermaelen/Arteta, that’s the dream ticket for me Rico…
Two players leading the squad, who love the club and won’t be looking for a transfer next summer.
Good, sensible, pragmatic choices…
First captain to deserve the armband since Vieira.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted Alex Song could well follow Robin van Persie out of the exit door this summer.
Song has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, and it seems Wenger will need to make do without another leading star in the new campaign.
Asked about the possibility of more signings, plus the departure of Song, Wenger said: ‘Both can happen’.
Wenger said at a press conference on Friday morning that there had no actual bid from Barcelona for Song.
At last Kev, at last….
Agree there Esp…
Hiya Kev
Paul – Myles Palmer picked up on the BBC’s angle
“The BBC had a good online story by David Ornstein.
He revealed that the player was apparently reconsidering his decision to leave, having been impressed by the new players Wenger had brought in.
Ornstein said that Arsenal had prepared a contract offer which shattered their wage structure.
But after Wenger met with the player and the player told the manager he disagreed with the direction the club was taking, that new mega-deal was not offered to him.
Ornstein, a Gooner, said that Wenger told the player on the touchline in Cologne: You’re no longer part of my plans.
That revelation balances the saga beautifully.
On his personal website last month, the Dutch striker told his manager and the world: I won’t sign a new contract. In other words, Arsene Wenger is not part of my plans.
In Cologne, on the touchline before the final pre-season friendly, against Lukas Podolski’s old club, Wenger told the player: You’re not part of my plans.
There has got to be some truth in that Paul.
Next up SAHIN !!!
Hi Rico and everyone. That is way over the top by fans I think. If the BBC are to be believed Wenger pulled the rug from under van Persie’s feet after his infamous and quite stupendously stupid message to the fans. He made his bed that day and now he is lying in it. We are all free to wish him what we want but should keep it between ourselves.
I can’t imagine why Sahin would want to anything that Mourinho, that disgusting mixture of putrid excrement and decaying warthog sphincter, would suggest. After all what has he ever done for Sahin except buy him and then ignore him? But, if he wants to go to Liverpool, then that’s up to him.
Hi rico,
Wenger had a look at Mapou Yanga-mbiwa the other day. Don’t know if he is still interested. I think Sahin and 1 more will come in
The lunatics are going to have a field day with Verminators appointment as Skipper. They will be trying to sell him now to RM Farca Manure or Shitty 😀
We’re in for a seminal season Rico, things are a changing, and changing in a postive manner…
Hiya Lee, Emma …
Copped a King Prawn Tandoori starter and a Chicken Pasanda Tindaloo last night, Kev.
Amir, the owner was a bit sheepish last night … and asked me if I was okay?
I replied, “who’d turn down nearly £50M in wages when you’re nearly thirty?”
No football talk after that, just superficial and meaningless conversation.
Morning Adam
I’d much rather we signed a M’Vila or Capoue kind of player, and on a permanent deal. Both of those would no doubt love to join us and play under a French manager and in the CL.
Surely the player has the final word and as you rightly say, if Sahin chooses Liverpool then hey ho….
As for the other man, I have nothing to say any more, he has made his bed….
In the office Kev, bored as fck mate, very quiet!
SYG, that’s a good read….
Hiya Adam … Did I notice a hint of cynicism in your post !!!
Top gun
Syg. Do you have a curry most nights by any chance? 🙂
Syg. No mate. I am a big fan of Mourinho as you probably recognise.
Syg – it’s like wenger felt betrayed by RVP after being on the treatment table for 7 years. RVP infamous statement didnt help neither. He took a shot at wenger who had kept faith in him all this while . Just b/s he had one good season. It brings to mind the issue of Adebayor who became so full of himself after one good season. RVP will not have another season like that again. I have a good feeling about this season
Working from home Lee. Just watched the missus off the drive and noticed that some bastard’s had the end of one of the exhausts on the car.. I wondered why it was a bit loud over the past couple of days ..That’s what you get leaving your car on Frodingham Road in Scunthorpe until 2am !
SYG, hahaha…. love it.
Chicken Rezala for me, fantastico, and we talked cricket with the staff… 😛
Yeah SYG, that mirrored my conversation with the dudes in my local ruby house…
I recall you saying the other day about him emma, mr versatile across the back isn’t he, just what we need. I have little faith in JD and not sure Miquel is ready yet…
Him or Sakho who does play left back would do me 🙂
I sense change too Kev, just need one more to depart to the Spanish second capital city 😉
Morning Adam, What was that all about then…
Abusive messages to RIP’s wife…?
Not particularily intelligent!
Have a go at Robin, but not his wife….
Lee… 🙁
About three a week, Lee
I went over to Bangladesh a couple of years ago for one of my best mates wedding…. his mum makes the best pastry based starters on the planet ….
And i’m happy that Arteta is VC instead of Sagna. I love the guy and he is a lion but the only thing I can say against him is that he is not vocal enough. Aa skipper is a Sgt Major that represents the managers wishes and needs to be able to bark at players if needed.
Mourinho, Mankini, Adam, now that would an interesting dinner date…
I’d pay just to watch… 🙂
Emma. I think he was betrayed by van Persie. Morally, what he has done to Wenger, the club and the fans, is repugnant. Perhaps it is partly our fault for expecting the players share our love for the club. As I mentioned a few evenings ago, every time a player behaves like this it corrodes our attachments and encourages us to think of them as temporary employees. This, in reality, is what they are. Money has always and will always corrupt most everything it touches.
Cheikh M’Bengue reckons we are interested in signing him….
He’s a French-born Senegalese international footballer who plays for French club Toulouse in Ligue 1, as a left back.
Toulouse left-back Cheikh M’Bengue has said he is a transfer target for Arsenal – but his club have denied that the North Londoners have made an offer.
M’Bengue, 24, is under contract to Les Pitchouns until June 2014, and Toulouse owner Olivier Sadran told L’Equipe: “For me, everything is clear. The league has started and no one will leave.”
But M’Bengue said: “I still have two years on my contract and I’m a key player here. I have no clause or agreement to leave – but Arsenal is something you cannot turn down if everyone is okay.
“I hope he [Sadran] won’t block me if an interesting proposal comes up. Arsenal would be awesome.”
Asked whether he could meet the challenge of playing in the Premier League, he said: “I have played more than 100 Ligue 1 games and I’m a Senegal player. It’s a question which doesn’t stand.”
Hiya Kev. I told you what I think of him as the other evening 🙂
I noted your shock. 🙂
Cheikh M’Bengue sounds like a Wenger signing, Rico
Nice to here that Wenger has actually “mentioned” Sahin being a possibility and Song leaving
I would not have a goa at RIP at all who ever he used to be….can’t remember anymore to be honest.
Song AND Squillaci Rico…
Back off The Squillster Kev. 🙂

Following the £24m deal to sign Robin Van Persie from Arsenal, Manchester United’s shares fell to their lowest level since listing in New York a week ago. Shares traded below their $14 offer price yesterday, falling 2 per cent to $13.77 by the close in New York.
Football author Simon Kuper told the Financial Times, ‘This is clearly not a businesslike purchase – an injury-prone 29-year old [when] forward players tend to peak around 24. Manchester United’s supporters don’t like the Glazers, so it looks as if they have okayed a non-business acquisition that makes them look good to the fans.’
It is certainly a break from United’s normal practice of buying younger players on whom they can recoup their investment if they decided to sell later on. Authoritative United blogger Andy Green commented, ‘I think it’s interesting that there’s no resale value and I think it shows the Glazers have been under-investing in players and this is their response.’
Investors had been warned in the prospectus for United’s share offering that this year’s net transfer spend could be around £50m, one of the highest outlays since the Glazers took over at the club in 2005. That is predicted to drop around £25m in subsequent years.
Someone close to the shate offering told the Pink ‘Un that investors were not looking to make judgments on individual transfer deals: ‘This is not an investment group that knows much about football. The management pitched the club to investors on the potential for television advertising revenue that comes with the brand, not about transfer decisions.’
He sure does Syg, but what would that mean for Gibbs/Santos?
Adam, i was shocked by your revelations…
You are a man of strident opinion…. 😉
Sorry Adam…. 😛
Just read that Angel Rangel could be coming our way from Swansea, part of the Bartley deal…
Just love the rumour site 🙂
rico – when a player announces himself that we are interested, arsenal tends to backpedal away from such players. I think it’s just a ploy to up his price just in case other suitors need him. Remember kevin Mirallas
I don’t count Squilli Kev, he won’t even get a squad number today 😉
While sitting on a rock in London Zoo, flapping his flippers in anticipation of a dead herring, Sam Allardyce, through a cloud of fetid fish breath has made an astonishing claim. Half man, half Walrus Allardyce has stated that his West Ham side could be as big as Arsenal. Thought by some to be the sickening result by scientists to cross a man with a huge, blubbery sea creature Allardyce exploded a huge green belch and then slid back into the water, hopefully never to be seen again.
Angel Rangel????
Isn’t he a wrestler for WWE..?
Where’s Stan when you need him… 😉
Manure will definitely crash. It is corroding gradually. The club is heavily indebted. Rednose knows it and he is just after one more hurray before he retires. Then the club will go down the drain.
Give that man a pilchard….
Rangel was voted best defender last season Kev
I know emma, and who can blame him 😉
😆 Adam…
I like Kieran Gibbs. I just hope he can move forward and grow in stature and more’s to the point – not get injured !!
Thanks Rico. It is a powerful image isn’t it? 🙂
For ManUre 2012-13, see Liverpool 1990-91, when Arsenal finally broke the back of their domination from Anfield…
Unfortunately a lack of investment from the Arsenal Board and GG’s sticky finger’s, meant that Ferguson jumped into the void instead of Graham…
Has he passed his medical yet?? Not the ears, throat and nose but the ankles, knees and back??
What if he fails??
allezkev — You’re on a roll. Another great article and as Rico has already noted its informative and upbeat. Keep it up.
ESP — Yes finally we have a captain who has been appointed on merit not as a salve to a disquieted player.
It is good to hear that the Sahin transfer may be back on. Although I’m not sure he is meant to be a direct replacement for Song. He is a versatile player and could be backup for both Wilshere and a dedicated DM. I’d be chuffed if we got Sahin and Capoue.
You know Adam, I dislike that man nearly as much as I do Fergie, Jose and Floppy….
AK, I truly believe we are two players away from being real title contenders…
Hi CG…
I have a double date now with Mr Pledge and Mr Dyson….
Back in a short while….
I think, in calling him a man, you bestow too much praise on him RIco.
Thank you Canuck….
Agree Rico…
Now i must go to the gym….. ugh
Adam, shall I cancel the arranged night out with durham and ham allardyce??
Morning all….. Seems Wenger has sung a goodbye Song………….
Fingers crossed….! Seems Sahin waiting on us, he could of gone to livpoo days ago but he hasn’t as he is waiting for us to go back for him.
Get him and that “PROPER” defensive midfielder we all been on about and that’ll do me.
WHo mentioned the walrus………….. that soooooooooo put me off my breakfast I f’kin hate that horrible obnoxious cnut…!
Lee — I was talking to my ManUre supporting chum this evening. He was involved in a Machseter United Supporters Action Group campaign where they sent e-mails to all the banks, brokerages, etc. that were involved in their club’s recent public share offering. The e-mails, hundreds of thousand of them, basically said that the fans did not support the share offering or the Glaziers. The Glaziiers creamed of a large portion of the proceeda for themselves.
Some Arsenal fans have problems with Silent Stan, but it pales in comparison with the the ManUre fans’ feelings about the Glaziers. They took over a debt free club and have run up debts in the order of 700+ millionj pounds. All while charging the club sizeable ‘management fees’.
Pig’s head he’s got a fckin pig’s head!!
Cop this
Skybet have now got us at 8/11 favourites for Yann MVila to sign for us…
They also have us a 5/1 to third favourites to sign Llorente and 10/1 second favourites to sign Fernando Torres
Since the purchase of Cazorla we’ve now dropped to 40/1 to sign Kaka
I’m sorry to hear that youg Bartley has chosen to leave the club on a sale rather a loan. However, Wenger has usually been open and honest about their prospects of playing time. Bartley’s tweets indicate his decision was made on the likelyhood of him getting first team playing time. Good luck to him.
After reading comments from the fans of Rangers FC re: Bartley, I didn’t think he’d cut it here … They said he was good and raw, but as stated, the level of Scottish football at the moment is dire….
Le-grove “sort of” semi-mentioned why had Djourou had the chance and Bartley not. Apt point.
With the imminent departure of Song it ‘s nice to see us streamlining the squad … Hopefully for new QUALITY arrivals…
Tottenham have pulled out from chasing M’Vila and Sahin has put the brakes on a move to Liverpool… A move for those two will bring us the PL … and at odds of between 10/1 and 14/1 its worth a £50 punt.
SYG,we will get Sahin and M’Villa.
Evening all.
V’s Sunderland
Scz
Yennaris – Mert – Vermaelen – Gibbs
Cazorla – Arteta
Arshavin
Walcott-Giroud-Podolski
Hiya Scott.
Elvis has left the building, mate !!!
A better starting 11 than at any time last season,SYG.
And been replaced by me 🙂
On a sour note; I was disgusted to read some of the tweets &/or texts sent to RvP’s wife Bouchra by so called Arsenal fans. Regardless of what you may think of the player, that does not justify sending vile &/or threatening messages to his family. We have no idea what part, if any, that she played in RvP’s decisions.
Don’t these thoughtless morons relize that their message may be actionable. I hope they are caught and prosecuted, If found guilty, I hope Arsenal FC ban them from the Emirates.
I’d go out and attack Sunderland. They aren’t that good to cause us problems.
Arteta is well-placed to handle the defensive role and the inter-play between Cazorla and Arshavin could be massive for us … That’s of course if Wenger sees it that way ,,,, He’d probably rather have his love child in there rather than Arshavin ….
Scott — Good evening/morning? to you. We have similar, but opposite impediments to watching our beloved Arsenal. I’m 8 hours behind GMT and your 8-10 hours ahead. We both have to get up in the wee hours of the morning to catch some of the games live.
My votes go for Sahin and Capoue.
SYG — That set-up looks good to me, especially since they are starting with a makeshift backline. Add the speed of Theo &/or the Ox and it should be a very entertaining game.
morning all.
syg – 8/11 for m’vila is interesting considering things have gone quiet and the spuds bid was confirmed. perhaps he’s waiting for le boss’ call? i know he’s got attitude issues but he wants to play for wenger, that might be enough to calm him down.
sahin would be great, especially on loan to buy. if we grabbed sahin, m’vila and that montpelier captain i’d be nothing short of ecstatic `
As much as I despise RVP atm,I do not,nor wild I ever, wish any harm on him or is family.
It’s a disgrace, and anyone found guilty should be locked up for 20 years!!
CG….waking up at al hours is half the fun!!
I wear my tired, bloodshot eyes like a badge of honour!
Morning all,
Kev, your right, this time last year everyone was talking about Frimpong and what an animal/beast he was going to be for us, in that time Coquelin has snuck in under the radar and done a brilliant job for us. Frimpong really needs to knuckle down now and work hard on getting back into the squad for the New Year or he’ll be the next one looking at the exit door, less time tweeting on twatter and more time in the gym.
Micko,I have a massive question mark over Frimpong…..two major injuries in quick succession is a worry.
Coquelin is a gem,and will prove it this season.
SYG, think Coq will get the nod in midfield possibly with Arteta and Cazorla…? Lets hope no song n diaby….!
Spot on Micko, Coq has come on leaps and bounds lets hope more improvement this year and he’ll be a proper top player.
Scott — I can identify with your badge of honour. However, as I’m a night owl, I can’t agree with your “waking up at al hours is half the fun!!”. If it’s an early kick-off (i.e. 12:45 GMT) i’ll often just stay up.
CG,if it’s a 2am kick off,I go to bed at 10,lay there for an hour, jump back on HH for 30 minutes, attempt to go to sleep but end up just waiting for game time.
After the game,I get an hour and a half sleep, then up for work…..half the fun!!
Lee. No, don’t cancel, just invite Redknapp and Tony Pubis as well. Oh and Gambon.
Adam,where’s Gambon??
I heard through the grapevine that even Le Grovers now treat him like a leper.
And me Adam 😛
Hello again all….
Scott, Fraizer Campbell came back from the same injury as Frimpong, done both his knee’s and made his debut at Wembley last year so there is hope, he just needs to get his head down, competition in midfield is stronger than ever at the moment, it’s dog eat dog.
Ryan Giggs has welcomed Robin van Persie to Old Trafford; the Welsh Wizard said that he intends to “treat him like a brother…..”
The guest speaker is all booked up Adam, Bob Crow!!
Rico, you been doing the Shake and Vac dance this morning ?
He can do it Micko,it’s just not a definite.
I hope he does get back to full fitness….could be a great player for us.
Rico. I see you at the head of the table.
Scott. Gambon had to go back to hospital unfortunately.
Bob Crowe. A beautiful guy.
He’s safe there,Adam.
Apparently he had an anus transplant and the anus rejected him.

His parents did the same thing!
It’s official – RvP completes his move to ManUre.
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/van-persie-completes-manchester-united-move?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+arsenal-news+%28News+Feed%29
You a fan of Bob then Lee?
Apparently he went in for a circumcision but the proceedure couldn’t be done. The surgeon said there was no end to the prick…
Something like that Micko 😉
Adam, as long as he remains within reach…..
At least in Manchester van Persie’s kids will be learn how to handle automatic weapons.
As you are of durham.
Press Conference: Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he had “no choice” but to sell Robin van Persie to Manchester United http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/press-conference-arsenal-boss-arsene-wenger-says-he-had-no-choice-but-to-sell-robin-van-persie-to-manchester-united/
Lee. 🙂
He was such an ugly child his mother fed him with a catapult!
To get their pet dog to play with him she had to tie a pork chop around his neck.
Rico. Please allow me to apologise for the uncouth nature of some of the remarks. I don’t know how Lee gets way with mentioning Durham’s name so often. 🙂
Lee — That joke is an old gem.
Did the surgeon end up getting the sack !
😆 Lee, and yours Adam…..
Like me CG!! 😉
afternoon all…good post Kev (as always)…
If I ring up talkshite and scream cnut as loud as possible, will it get through or is it delayed?
Even the pork chop ignored the bastard!!
Adam is merely deflecting his own indiscretions!
emma — An interesting press conference; but Arsene, the consummate politician as always, says very little that he can be held to. At times, it was obvious that he had his tongue firmly in his cheak. No definite answer to how or if he will spend RvP’s transfer fee. As usual he leaves his answers open to interpretation/misinterpretation.
I think there will be another player or two still to come.
CG, I like the cut of your jib.
I’m off guys. Sean’s last game of the season tomorrow, followed by the might Gunners first!!
A massive day.
See you all tomorrow night.
Be good Scott, good luck Sean!
Cheers Scott…! Hope the little fella bangs in a few more 2moro…!
As posted on twitter
The King is dead… Long Live the King JW10….
Good night Scott.
Night Scott.
afternoon all!
Lots of speculation chaps so I may as well lay out my predictions. I actually believe it will only be 1 out 1 in from this point and that is likely to be Song for Sahin. I don’t believe we will do any more than this. I also think feel that we now have a number of quality players who are able to cover different positions which gives a greater squad strength to cover injuries than we have had in the past. As an example TV is best at CD but can play LB as can the young Miquel. Coquelin is best in DM but can cover full-back. Podolski can play wide attacking, number 10 and could even lead the line. cazorla and the Ox can play wide attacking, number 10 or attacking CM. We have a great adaptability within the current squad.
AW said yesterday that he had already pre-bought for RVP’s replacement. Initially i thought noooo, this is not what we want to hear and we were being fobbed off again. Once I sat back and thought about it I realised he was probably right. The only thing we have lost from our attacking unit is RVP while we have added Podolski, Giroud and Cazorla. As a squad I actually believe we now have a stronger and more varied attacking unit than last year when we had RVP. RVP obviously would have made us even stronger still but could also have caused problems with having too many players with some top players not getting enough playing time. I am actually very happy with our attack now and the only thing I hope is they gel and settle quickly. I have a good feeling they will.
The only 2 things from here I would want sown up in our forward department is firstly Walcott on a new contract, and secondly (maybe slightly more controversial) I would extend AA’s contract by a year and look to utilise him as one of our players who can play in the hole next year, as he looked very sharp and dangerous in this role against Cologne when he came on. I would forget completely about playing him as a wide player and wouldn’t necessarily even consider him as a starting 11 but he certainly gives a quality strength in depth and it is probably the position he should have always been played in.
In midfield I believe we have enough attacking options. In DM if the Song for Sahin deal goes ahead I believe AW will look at Sahin, Coquelin and Frimpong as his options for this role. Frimpong will be more our midfield destroyer while the other 2 will be slightly more technical DM’s. The fact that both Arteta and Wilshere always put in their shift in DM, despite offering more than the above 3 going forward, could mean we are well covered in all areas in midfield.
I don’t think he will buy any more defenders either. Many of you would argue about another CD or left full-back and while i would not disagree with you I would also argue that we may have what we already need and that more importantly it is about Bould improving our defensive tactics and discipline. We have TV, LK, Per, Djorou and Miquel as CD options while we have Sagna, Jenkinson, Yenaris, Coquelin, Gibbs, Santos, TV and Miquel who are all either full-backs or players that can cover full-back.
All this is why I think the only thing that may happen now is Song out and Sahin in and I for once would go with AW if this is all that happens.
Laters Scott, this pre-season has flown by, can’t wait.
Finally finished – hoorah 🙂
Adam, I won’t read back then 😉 😉
Gooner B, agree with most that you have written how ever I am thinking more and more the Sahin deal will not happen…. We were looking at him to cover for JW not to replace song… Sahin isn’t a DM just a very good all round player. If we expect Jack back mid to end of Sep we are probably thinking why get anyone in to cover for him we have enough. If song goes then we need to get in a proper defensive midfielder hence M’Vila or Capoue would be my call. I think Sahin would be a great deal but the more I think about it the more I feel we won’t pursue him if we think Jack is close to fitness and wenger has his love child fit again and we all know how much he loves diaby..!

No, don’t Rico. Cover your sweet, innocent eyes. 🙂
Wishere on getting the no10 shirt….
Funny how no mention of “him” at the end lol
Jack Wilshere has spoken of his immense pride after being handed Arsenal’s coveted No 10 shirt.
The young midfielder is currently nursing an ankle injury which has kept him out of action for a year but he is back in light training ahead of the new season.
Wilshere, who has been with the Club since the age of nine, says that following in the footsteps of some former greats gives him extra motivation.
“It’s such an honour for me,” he told Arsenal.com. “Getting the No 10 shirt again at the Club means so much to me as I wore it all through the youth teams at Arsenal.
“It has a special place for all attacking or creative players. I feel proud to wear it now after some real Club legends have worn it, such as Dennis Bergkamp.
“Now I am even more excited about returning to action and honouring the shirt.”
🙂 Adam…
Jack Wilshere, I love you 🙂
Great guy and a proper Gooner…..
GoonerB, it ain’t looking bad is it, are you going tomorrow ?
I’d love to see a bit of competition for Song but it seems too good to be true, he is after all the teachers pet.
Think we might yet see a defensive minded player come in to help out the defense.
Biglia been linked with us again, from what I hear he’s a Carrick type of player, more mid-table profile, it would be a big step up for him coming to us, got everything crossed for M’Vila.
GoonerB — As for W.A.T.H., I agree with most of what you say. I don’t think we have had this much depth or versatility in the squad since the Invincibles. I still think we are after and I hope we get Sahin. Not as a direct replacement for Song, but as cover for Wilshere and for Song. If Song goes, I would like to see Capoue as his direct replacement at DM. Although I wouldn’t object to M’Vila, I was impressed Capoue in France vs Uruguay.
It is good to see the No. 10 shirt going to the likes of Wilshere. I was disappointed when Arsene let Gallas have that number; especially of the back of DB10, the greatest Arsenal player to wear the number. Wilshere has a lot to live up to.
M’Vila or Capoue = goals against halved….
Goals against halved = title contenders, bring it on.
Amen Rico. Till tomorrow fellow Gooners.

Cheers CG……
Song out 2moro Micko, seems the teacher is rather pissed off with his nawty little children thinking they something they not…!
I like the fact AFC.com didn’t wish “him” all the best in the future either, just thanked him for what he had done for the club…. Think he’s really annoyed and upset and disappointed a lot of people…! Good.. Hope TV smashed him to bite when we play them… that’s if he ain’t already injured of course 😉
As for our Jack, he knows a legend… DB10 take a bow…!

You look at Barca and you think who is there best defender…..is it me or am I missing somethink…you see I can’t see a standout defender……
My point is: We need a defensive Midfielder…….but above all,we need to defend as a team.
When I coach young players one of first things I tell them to do is……. get back behind the ball.
I don’t see this in the arsenal players,we seem to get done on the counter attack every time.
Come on steve and neil sort it out.
Agree there CG, Gallas wearing number 10 was simply stupid….
I personaly think Even Vermalen wasn’t happy with the way he behaved because Verminator was quick to tell his team mates to forget RVP. RVP must hatHee himself now, apart from his check book .He simply let the media get into his head , just shows his level of intelligence ,reports even suggested that Arsenal were ready to break the bank for him but he spoke to soon .

Man City were on course for being League Champions back in 1971/2. The team had won as many trophies in as many years since 1968, and as a unit they played a hard pressing game.
In early 1972 and racing away in the league they bought Rodney Marsh for about £2.4M in today’s money.
Marsh was the most sought after talent in England – a very skilful performer and goal scorer.
They bought him and they lost the title to Derby.
Although Marsh was a cracking player, and that there was no doubt he was lazy, ill-disciplined and a showman.
City’s one and two touch power football lost its pace soon as Marsh collected the ball. He slowed their game down, which resulted in the likes of Bell and Summerbee’s power play turning into a case of running out of position and leaving great voids, when Marsh lost possession,
Marsh scored the goals and made the assists, but he was detrimental to the dynamics of the side.
History always has a habit of repeating itself.
Song leaving is the best news any Arsenal supporter could wish for.
His replacement at 8/11 would generate a ream capable of winning the PL. Him gone and M’Vila in WILL possibly win Arsenal the title.
CanadianG – I’m not fussed re: Diaby in the No. 2 shirt or Santos with the No. 11 shirt. Gallas wearing 10 was sheer idiocy.
Great point SYG, Asprilia to Newcastle was a similar scenario….
Sleep well CG, catch up later….
Flipping heck Kev – I forgotten about him.

Team News: Koscielny, Walcott and more
on Jack Wilshere (ankle), Tomas Rosicky (tendon) and Bacary Sagna (leg)…
They are all doing well but of course they are not available tomorrow. It is good news for them all though. Jack is moving very well and quickly forward now. Rosicky is running, Sagna is running too. They should all be available soon. It is more or less a month for all of them to start training properly.
on Mikel Arteta…
He is fit and available.
on Emmanuel Frimpong (knee)…
He is three weeks until he is training so that is a bit ahead of schedule. It is very good. We think he will be back competitively in October.
on other team news…
We have a few tests today because some players came back today [from internationals] and played 90 minutes, like Cazorla in Puerto Rico. Some players like Song have little knocks. We will see about them today.
on Walcott (thigh)…
We have to assess Walcott, who had to pull out of the national team. But he should be OK to play.
on Koscielny and Oxlade-Chamberlain…
We miss Koscielny and Oxlade-Chamberlain for the injuries they got in the last game against Cologne. They had to pull out of their respective national teams as well so those two will miss the game tomorrow. Oxlade-Chamberlain has an ankle problem, Koscielny a calf. Both have a chance to be fit for Stoke.
He has a “knock” apparently Micko….. make of that what you will lol
Yeah, SYG, Seaman played with cracked ribs strapped up like a mummy.
Had a great game all the same…
Six squad places up for grabs then Kev, at least six of those listed could be gone in the next two weeks 😛
V’s Sunderland
I’d go…
Scz
Yennaris – Mert – Vermaelen – Gibbs
Cazorla – Arteta
Arshavin
Walcott-Giroud-Podolski
win 3-0 (Arshavin, Giroud 2)
Wenger will go
Scz
Coq – Mert – Vermaelen – Gibbs
Song – Arteta
Diaby
Walcott-Podolski-Gervais
1-1 (Podolski pen 89)
SD – I don’t believe the club had any intention of keeping ‘him’…. I did do, but not any more.
Imho, AW has made all the right comments in order to let everyone believe he wanted him to stay and for one reason alone…
And that was to get £24 million…..
15 days to go Rico…..
Plenty of time to move at least three of that lot on; Song, Squillaci, Bendtner.
And replace them with two players, hopefully Sahin and one from M’Vila, Capoue or Biglia…
Selley and Morrow. Two disciplined players with little skill who made the most of what they had….
England 39-3 🙁

afternoon rico and all of those still here,
bearing in mind they usually don’t have anything to do with wenger’s actual plans, is there any publicly available justification for our odds of signing m’vila?
SYG, you told me you were good at these sort of things the other day.
I dont understand why most people are thinking selling Song is a good idea, he was one of our best players last season .
Not when England are involved Micko 😉
L’equipe
Yann M’Vila will not the shirt of Tottenham. André Villas-Boas, the Spurs coach, confirmed “he will not come to Tottenham – we were interested at first, but it is no longer the case. He has defensive characteristics and we seek a more creative player.
If Alex Song was to join FC Barcelona, Arsenal could seek M’Vila, for which demand Rennes 20 million euros. (EQ)
syg any chance of giving me the gist of what they’re saying im on mozilla and the page wont translate :l ? Capoue or mvilla? i like capoue more as a person but u gota say mvilla is a fantastic player!
Exactly Kc….
Syg, Sahin & M’Vila in would be nice with Song out… Can’t see it though….
Hi b1727 – I hope we get him….
Sorry about your earlier comment Andrew, you’ll go straight on now…
I can Rico. Be the optimist !!!!!!!!
SD, he has been misbehaving according to reports….
Selling song isn’t a good idea it’s a great idea SD, he thinks he’s an attacking genius and neglects the defensive part of his play to the detriment of the team, he made 10 assists yes but how many did we let in that were down to him..? He does not protect the back four and we have flair players that are far better than him so what exactly does he bring to the team, he is slow on the ball slows the tempo down and lacks discipline and thinks he’s Pele hence the bad attitude in training I believe..! Let him go bring in a proper defensive midfielder and watch how much better we operate as a unit..! Just my opinion of course mate…!
Hiya Andrew. Tottenham don’t want M’Vila.
My feeling he’s he don’t want the Tottenham move and he’s waiting for Arsenal to offload the dink-machine and for Rennes to get itchy-feet and take what Arsenal offer…
Sahin is definitely angling for the Arsenal move…
what they’re saing *about sahin*?
WATH. Well said. His replacement will be the final piece of the jigsaw that is the first 11.
SYG, I heard Rennes would accept 12million for M’Vila now….. Doesn’t he only have a season left as well on his contract..?
Sahin knocked the yids back twice and M’Vila has obviously told them to go do one as well lol lvoe it…..!
SD London check southyorkshiregunner says:

Please read it and try and understand its logic.
those would be cracking signings if true! mvilla’s character i heard isnt so good!.. and we’ve enough of players screwing us about!….
Coquelin’s one for the future! so i wouldnt want his chance so limited either! Agreed about song though he only digs in and grinds when he wants to ! dissapointing cos he could be so much better
Yesterday could be seen as a black day, but I don’t feel it WATH – honestly. We got a bad deal, but Man Utd’s was worse.
Both SAHIN and M’VILA angling to come here …. ? It would be amazing.
🙂 Syg, well I hope you are right but after AW’s comments about the midfield, I see only one coming in and that depends if Song goes or not…
In France and compared to Frédéric Antonetti, Wenger is the Mesiah. He basically “made” Anelka, Henry, Petit, Pires etc.
M’Vila’s character would change… He’d be part of a fantastic playing squad who could finally make a play for the Champions League and P,L and not part of some mediocre French side in Ligue 1..
He could Andrew but he’s not young and he should have learned by now, he is the weak link in midfield imho, get a proper Dm in there and we’ll halve our goals conceded…
And with Santi, Giroud and Podolski, we’ll score more too…
In all honesty SYG did we get a bad deal…? we have already got in two quality international strikers and we’ve let a 29yr old go for 24million…!?!?! It irritates me he has gone to those tossers but also makes me laugh they have spent so much on him…! If he has a good season then so what as long as our new two have a better season…! The jury will be out on if he can stay injury free so for me it was a win win… My biggest concern is selling song and then getting in a PROPER replacement that for me is the priority as Cazorla is gonna be a top top signing, give him a destroyer in midfield next to him and we’ll be flying… add the quality then with JW10, Arteta, Rosicky, Ramsey, Coq and I suppose diaby if he in the mood thats pretty strong.
Song has gone. It’s not just been announced. Arsenal are just angling for as much as we can get Barcelona or whoever to cough up…
http://www.arsenalnewsreview.co.uk/index.php/news/2596/30/Song-and-Van-Persie-have-left-Arsenal-for-Barca-and-Man-UJtd
I stick by that.

I make you right on song as well SYG, I think he’s gone….. We just waiting for someone to stump up the right amount of dosh and that’s it.. done deal…! As has been said would that then mean we have no players on the books of Dick Dein as their agent..?
From Denmark’s top Sports broadsheet

Bendtner to AC Milan
for DK40M …. sort of equals about £4.21M
Despite having a mega sale of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic of over DK400 million. AC Milan has deep economic difficulty and therefore Bendtner will be a cheap solution…..

hey rico, how’s it going?
Afternoon all.
Worrying times for us Gooners methinks. Looking at the first team squad Imo.
Goalkeepers= Szczensy(ok but still alot to learn) Fabianski(sh*te)Mannone(sh*te) So if chez gets injured what then.
Defenders= Sagna(best rightback in the EPL but not fit to start season) Mertesacker(good pro but slow and getting slower) Vermaelen(our new skipper nuff said) Koscielny(most improved player last season) Santos(a midfielder and should not be near the defence) Squillaci(sh*te) Djourou(sh*te) Jenkinson(not ready to be a first team player) Gibbs(positioning needs sorting out) Bartley(now with swansea) so thats nine defenders 3 of which are sh*te imo one is a midfielder(santos) that leaves 5 to call on for the season.
Midfielders= Diaby(never fit) Rosicky(never fit) Arteta(solid pro) Wilshere(class but when will he be fighting fit ) Ramsey(needs to step up bigtime)
Song( might be with barca by january)Cazorla(proven quality but not in EPL yet) Coquelin(promising but not the real deal yet) Arshavin(class on his day and when he can be arsed) Frimpong(twitter king) Thats not the strongest mid the EPL.
Strikers= Poldolski(proven quality but not in the EPL) Giroud(quality in the french league but not in the EPL) Walcott( needs to step up bigtime)
Gervinho(tricky but the head seems not to know what the feet are doing)
Park (who is he) Chamakh(sh*te) Bendtner(TGSTEL) Oxlade- Chamberlain(promising kid with the world at his feet) so thats 8 strikers and Bendtner and chamakh with more than 1 years experience in EPL.
We need to get the dross out and classy players in.
so what’s your point bro?
All good thanks Goonster..
GM – nah, good times ahead, two more players we need, that’s all and we’ll be the strongest we have been for 3/4 seasons….
Get the dross out!!
One dimensional you say Stanley……….. Sounds like your brain…. non stop pant creamer…! It’s ok though we know what your like…! little boy in a candy shop with no money lol
dude we have the strongest team in ages yet you complain!!!!!!!! God give me strength. now gunner mac, please do manure’s!
Afternoon Mac
Non- worrying times for us Gooners me thinks…
Things are looking great mate.
The final piece of the jigsaw is Song gone and quality midfielder in.
Van Persie was a lone forward with no other options.
Ever watched Jimmy Grimble? “Give it to our Gordon”
That was our game plan last season. Kick it to Robin.
We had to. Look at the other options – Chamakh or Bruce Lee. That’s why an over-the-hill Henry got drafted in.
hahahahahahahaha W.A.T.H me old poopie daaper. anyway i had fun last night. HH is just the place to be guys. rico, i duff me hat for you me lady. you rock. and just under 2 years huh? how did you do it?
Goonster!
adam!!!!
Goonster i really hope your right, oh and iv’e had 7 years to perfect the art of complaining!!!!!!!!! And god never helped me neither..
Afternoon all.
Merlin’s next big prediction:
Arsene Wenger is tired of it all….and wanted to return to France…..PSG offers him a way out with a provisio:
He is to be Head Coach of Qatar WC2022 squad….starting with a bunhc of 14, 15 & 16 years old from all over the globe and wil be given Qatar citizenship within 7 years time if they make it into Qatar WC2022 squad.
If Qatar makes it into 2nd Round, Arsene Wenger will be rewarded with US$100-million bonus.
You think Arsene Wenger can resist this challenge in 2013 with Qatar buying out the remnants of his contract (1 year only) and offer unlimited funds and carte blanche to select any 14 to 16 years old players anyway and groom them into WC2022 challenger to reach teh 2nd Round?
No more disloyal players;
No more worry of generating at least 20-mil per annum;
No more Gazidis, no more Kroenke;
ANd doing what he loves best – nurturing, coaching and guiding youths to stardom.
Of course, I love fairy tale and sci-fi……and supporting Arsenal FC is one helluva roller coaster emotional ride……
Goonster!! I am off to that place known as Utrecht soon. Do you know it Stan?
Gmac, am always right. just ask my acolytes…….

Henry gone….(Van Persie)
Pires gone…. (Walcott?)
Gilberto gone… (Song?)
Suddenly, a new MIDFIELD – Hleb – Cesc – Flamini – Rosicky
And a STRIKEFORCE of Van Persie, Adebayor, Eduardo…a raw Walcott and who else?
A CB as a Captain in Gallas.
Dodgy FB in EBoue and Clichy….
A clown of a goalie in ALmunia…
Now?
MIDIFLED – Arteta – Cazorla – Diaby
FORWARD – Walcott – Giroud – Poldolski
On the bench: Ramsey, OX, Rosicky, WIlshere, Gervinho.. more new buys?
Now, let’s hopw we have the same scintillating satrt as winning 6 games on the trot and remain undefeated into October/November and 5 points clear in February…
Yes Stan. Apparently there are some great tango dancers in that area and I am going there to increase the intensity and passion of my dancing.
Prediciton anybody?

Looks like Arry’s got himself a new job on Match of the Day, that should please everybody, hate to see him go hungry.
Syg. Any chance of a loose translation?
Micko. Can’t agree there mate. I would love to see him go hungry. But then I am a wicked sod.

Ignasi Miquel , former militant squad now Barca, Arsenal emphasized in COM Radio that “Alex Song have that versatility of power play and also the central pivot. has played more of a party there and does not clash at all. ”
As also said, the Cameroonian “has some similarities with Yaya Toure, but l I see different. ”
In addition, Ignasi Miquel said ” is a player who brings a lot offensively and defensively is the one that always puts the leg. ”
For the former Barca squad, Song is “one of the most open of the costumes, I do not think you have problems integrating “in Barcelona.
” If signed for Barça will be a big step for him, ” he concluded.
Stan. Mrs Adam is pleased with my dancing prowess but I am getting in practice to sweep innocent little RIco, as you think of her, around the floor at the HH Christmas party.
NEWSFLASH
L’equipe state:
Song at Barca: a matter of hours?
Alexandre Song has never seemed so close to joining the Premier League and FC Barcelona. Since Arsene Wenger announced Friday that a transfer of Cameroonian midfielder was possible, the media Iberian revved. Thus, El Mundo Deportivo reported that the arrival of former townsfolk in Catalonia was only a matter of hours.
It was the dog I was really worried about Adam, should have made that clearer.
Merlin, 4 nil sounds good to me, Podolski brace.
I agree he is one of the most open of the costumes and always puts the leg. Can’t really argue with that.
you re gonna have to get by me first adam……..hey micko,
Stanley, i’m gone for 5 minutes and your off…..
I wish it was a matter of minutes rather than hours. Especially in the costume with the leg. How can Arsenal compare with that?
i ll go for 3 nil…….giroud with a brace and arteta with the other….a red card for lee’s younger brother( cattermole)
Hello Stan, I’ve got a new nickname for you, think you’ll like it but can only reveal it after the 9 o’clock watershed.
But Stan you don’t have a visa to visit the UK and I figured you would be dancing the fandango with Agag anyway.
Merlin, you are such a doomer sometimes 😉
Merlin, it isn’t gonna be a walk in the part.
Martin O’Neill will ensure that…
If we win 2-0 i will be absolutely delighted…
A clean sheet is a priority to me.
Scoring goals is no problem.
park
Rico. I hope you do save the first dance for me. 🙂
i ll get kev to smuggle me in via calais…….between him and W.A.T.H it ll be a piece of cake……….micko, spill you twit!
I have a wooden leg Adam 😉
Maybe he isn’t playing tomorrow so that he can have a medical in Spain Syg??
Rico, you never told me you could Tango…?
Any win will do me Kev, as long as we don’t concede, really need this defence to start getting some confidence….
In that case Stan I would concede honourable defeat and watch Rico and your handsome blonde pouty-self own the dance floor.
There is a lot you don’t know about me Kev 😉
Prefer 7Up myself though 😉
No excuses Rico and no escape from Goonster I fear.
Come on Mick, you twit, i can’t wait…. 😉
Why did Snow White just pop into my head !
Handsome prince Micko. Has to be Stan.
Rico,i’m learning all the time… 😀
adam, thank God you know when to throw in the towel…..all the ladies are mine!!
Ok, but rico will have to look way.
Stan, i think you should change your name to TWP (The Walking Penis)
Rico, I picked up somewhere that Song has a “knock” .. maybe the website…
If so, you’re probably right…
D @AFCAMDEN
Alex Song has officially left Arsenal. Announcement expected over the weekend/monday.
Stan, you are the Lothario of HH.
Of that, there is no doubt….
I think you’ll find Adam, I will have the last say on that 😉
Micko, go on, i am feeling brave 🙂
Syg – It’s on afc.com and Wath posted his ‘knock’ earlier, hope it’s not enough for him to fail a medical…. 😉
emma – I think ANR started that story…
Naturally Rico. 🙂
goonie….was lara fair in complexion with a little gap in her teeth?
You know what Mick, i gotta say, you have gift for the succinct…
Myles Palmer no less. It must be true then. He is the Julian Assange of Association Football.
Can’t see a deal for Song going through that quick tbh…
Barcelona will be faffing about over the transfer fee for at least a week i suspect…
But Wenger can still bring in Song’s replacement in the meantime…
What embassy is Palmer hiding in then Adam?
nah bondie…..she was dark with huge titties. hey kev, who is lothario?
Wait until he has his first training session with the Catalans and they see his first touch and his willingness to pass the ball directly to the opposition.
I hope we get the Sahin deal sorted soonest
Where did Lee disappear off to?
I reckon he sneaked off to the pub with Wath 😉
hey why am i in moderation? W.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.A.T.H!
Oh please don’t………..that’s killing me.
Ha ha Adam….
Kev – I can, I reckon IF he is off, it’s done, all money agreed and now it’s down to him passing a medical. You know what AW is like, he wouldn’t suggest Song could go if he hadn’t been promise a few pounds…….
Adam, let’s hope the Catalans don’t keep their receipt 😉
The Pub Micko 🙂
So Sahin as a backup for Arteta? If Arteta gets injured, who do we really have in the “Pirlo” role? M’Vila straight swap for Song? Then we would have a better organized midfield with slightly more depth. I think we need them both as Arty is getting up there and I’m always worried about those knees.
I can’t wait until tomorrow! Tomorrow, right? Thanks to those who supplied me with some links for watching the game online…gave up cable and FoxSports to save 100 bucks a month! All I watch is news and Arsenal anyway…headed to see my Cowboys tomorrow in San Diego! Only preseason, but I’ve got my white afro wig and Elvis blue shades ready to go! My girl is going to wear the Arsenal ladies cut jersey (Ramsey) I got her to the game to represent the Gunners…she is a Ramsey, btw.
Anticipation is abrew!
Guys am having a heated debate here with a spuddie…….who has scored more goals against the scums, bobby pires or ade the whore?
Neither…Heurelio Gomes.
Arteta or Jack Cowboy, def need M’Vila though once Song has gone to pastures new….
Stan, are you ok…
can’t understand this, Chelsea buys… Eden Hazard, Oscar and Marko Marin…Arsenal buys Carzola, podolski and giruod….arsenal looses rvp, chelsea looses Dd…still, simon bird thinks they have a better chance to win the trophy..
hahahahahahaahahaah gomes huh? howdy partner, how’s texas this fine afternoon?
let them be bondex……..we ll surprise a few this season.
Morning all. Another good post AK.
Players come and players go, we remain! Let’s unite and get behind the team this year! Feeling optimistic for the first time in years.
Oh to, oh to be, oh to be a Goona!!!
Stan, do me a favour, go back to Goonster…
Sry, afternoon all!
On night shift so it’s all a blur right now.
Afternoon all.
My last words on Van Persie. He is 30 next birthday, has a shocking injury record and even if he stays injury free, he has 2 0or 3 years left at the very top. Remember, he is no Bergkamp.
nope kev…….micko wants me to be the walking penis……..i am the walking penis!
Cheers Lewis, i agree, i think, despite the doom and gloom coming out of the usual biased and ignorant sections of the media, that we’re in for a fantastic season.
Let them write us off, just as they did 12 months ago.
The media still haven’t got over Arsenal finishing 3rd, an achivement that those hypocrites hardly ever mention.
The media really are a bunch of shameless scumbags.
bondex – don’t let them worry you, it’s only their hate Arsenal campaign….
Stanley, there’s ladies on here, now the joke is over ok….
Stan. Try though I may, I can’t see Rico referring to you under your new name, apposite though it may be.
ok sheesh, you cant take a joke can you kev?
Hi Lewis, spot on..
You are right Adam, I won’t be…..
Tbh, i still prefer GoonerStan….
Well done Stanley…. 😉
Perhaps if you left the word “walking” out Stan?
Yep they really are. Where does all the anti arsenal stem from? We get all the s**t, every year, I mean they even kissed and it would seem still kiss the arse of redknapp, a scumbag of the highest order. Is it Arsene?could fleet street be accused of xenophobia?
seriously guys…….am gonna lose a tenner to a spuddie if you guys dont respond soon. who has scored more goals against the spuds in a arsenal shirt? bobby pires or ade the whore?
Nicklas Bendtner has confirmed that there are ‘serious’ negotiations ongoing over his departure from Arsenal.
The striker has made it clear he does not see his future with the club, whilst Arsene Wenger and Arsenal have confirmed he does not figure in their plans.
Now the 24-year-old Denmark international is closing on his departure – with clubs in Italy, Spain, France and Germany all linked.
AC Milan are reportedly favourites, but Bendtner did not reveal who he was in talks with.
“It is not an option to stay at Arsenal, that is something neither I nor Arsenal desire,” Bendtner told the Danish media.
“I am expecting that the club issue will be resolved before the transfer window is closed. There are serious negotiations going on.”
The striker admitted that he already has rejected some offers, adding: “Yes, I have.
“From the start, I had three requirements. In case they are not fulfilled, I have rejected them since they are not interesting at this point.”
Whilst Milan are favourites, Italian agent Francesco Di Frisco, who is one of those helping to move Bendtner, confirmed Inter Milan could also be an option.
“AC Milan and Inter on Bendtner? He may be a good alternative for the Nerazzurri’s attack, we will see,” he told Calciomercato.
Adam, don’t start him off mate…
Kev, amazing what editing can do 😉
goonerstan? who’s he?
Kev. 🙂
Rico. Where is DG these days?
Where is the condemnation of the glazers and the like? Know here. Every year we get the same arsenal in crisis, well f**k them, let’s make this year our year. Cazorla PFA player of the year! Nice ring to it!
come on guys………you dont want us losing to the spuds even before the season kicks off!!!!!!!!!! come on already. i stand to make a tenner or lose mine and boy am broke as hell…..unless you all want me to file for bankruptcy!
Lewis, you are pushing at an open door mate….
The is an undercurrant of anti-French and anti-foreigner running thru the Press/Media in this country, AND among the FA and our referee’s.
You only have to listen to the absolute tripe trotted out by pundits on MotD and the radio…
A bunch of idiots living in the Stone Age…
Stan, i think it’s Pires
goonster – Bobby and Ade both scored the same number of goals against the totts…. Alan Sunderland also scored the same amount….
Eight goals by the way….
goonster did u see my post on lara james?
you think!!!!! God give me strength. i need specifics kev. come on. where’s merlin or KT when you need them. God, am gonna lose my lunch money.
Hey Walkin’…not in Texas anymore…in Cally. Things are good…gotta go get a window AC unit today though and put that baby in! Is everyone else on the edge of their seat today?
eight goals a piece huh? good, so i dont lose my ten bucks. hey who is alan sunderland? bondex, yes i did and i said she dark with huge tits! why did you ask? and a gap tooth girl sounds like a freaky fairy!
Goonster…you’re still going at it, eh?
Lewis, the media love old red nose, just wait until he retires, then we’ll see a change in their view…..
Same with the tiny totts, they loved old Arry but see what happens now AVB is there, they still laugh at him for what went on at Chelsea….
Super Bobby 12 games eight goals against spurs sorry no idea how many Ade scored
Rico, Editing is a very usefull tool… 😉
cowboy, mine broke last week. the handyman said i ll need me 3000 bucks to fix it. i told him to go to hell!
goonster, you don’t know who Alan Sunderland is, honest??
oh ok goonie saw some one with identical name thats all.
rico, i didn’t watch black and white TV! sheesh for crying out loud am just 25!!!!! what do you want from me?
History books goonie 🙂
for real bondex!!!!!! what does she look like? she cute? gosh i miss lara james.
Stanley, you could try reading a history of Arsenal, books won’t bite you know, sheesh…. 😛
wow those guys look really mean. the goal keeper looks like a cuter version of kev…….boy, players back then must be mean hairy bastards!
Rico, he’s off on one, nattering about some Lara bird…. 🙄
Got some chores, see ya in a bit…
Goonster…get a window unit! Kinda trashy, but better than being the Frying Dutchman.
i dont read kev……..how do you think i wound up in raleigh NC!
Stan, you are mad….. 🙂
cowboy my man, i ll be alright……..hell am dutch!
Catch you later Kev, just got lost watching us spank the Mancs, and I feel that we may finally break our rot against them this season….
how’s that kev? mad!!!!
lovely clip there rico…….can you get me the title decider against the scoucers? or the one against everton when tony adams scored the winner. please i need to know my history. thanks maam.
Evening all,
Blinding post AK, made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Alex Song has left us for pastures new Barcelona Talk shite tells me, another see’s his future elsewhere shame but we don’t want players who want to be somewhere else good luck to you Alex you will need it.
Kev, another good one!! I absolutely love how we are now looking forward to the new season; rather than dreading it. And mygod, it’s high time we had some proper football. 🙂
Hiya, rico. 🙂 🙂 Howdy?
You sure you’re not 15, stan?? Micko, don’t you be giving goonie, ideas!
Hello, Cowboy and bondex. 🙂
goonster – don’t be so bloomin lazy, go and look them up on youtube yourself… 😉
Hey Steve – how you doing??
And hiya to you too agag, all good thanks, you??
hi sir sp, how are ya? when are you gonna send some fish my way? am starving man………..hey baby, how re you doing? cowboy’s gonna take me camping in manila soon. maybe i ll run into you in a very dark alley!
Spot on Steve, he’ll need luck all right….
i have but i dont know the dates……..sheeesh, we didnt have a black and white TV!!! Just help me rico for old times sake.
Bartley to Swansea confirmed…
Hi Rico, we seem to be having a clear out only i’m not sure of the ones were getting rid of, i have positive feelings for us this year and by my reckoning we have so far not spent a penny of our own money but seem to have a better squad.
Who has actually gone now?
Howdy, AGAG…
you don’t need dates goonster…
What goes on through these players heads? What sort of tripe do their agents say, making them believe they are better than they are?? Song is not our worst player, but he’s nowhere near “best”!! Go on. Go to Barcelona. Good riddance to bad rubbish!
rico, Robin is trying to convince himself about all that he’s said… 😀 😀 He looks miserable.
goonster, I’m not one you’d want to run into in a dark alley. 😀 I’m more convinced by the day that you are 15. 😆
Hi, SSP. 🙂 🙂 Where do you keep disappearing off to?
Hi Will, not sure but quite a few….
Goonster, you are hilarious. SP1…you are right about us having a better squad…for the first time in quite awhile, I have true confidence about our team. I’m leaning forward instead of back.
.
OUT
Carlos Vela
Manuel Almunia
Gavin Hoyte
Alban Bunjaku
Oguzhan Ozyakup
Pedro Botelho
Robin van money bags…
Kyle Bartley
.
ON LOAN
Joel Campbell
Denilson
Samuel Galindo
Benik Afobe
Ryo Miyaichi
Wellington Silva
Cowboy, do NOT encourage goonie. 😀
Will, Song seems to be off to Bankruptlona. Can’t say I’m all that bothered, really.
If we get M’vila, at least, we’d be seriously challenging for the title this year, SSP. 🙂
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay thanks maam………..God i love the arsenal. come on you gunners. come on.
Hi Agag been looking for that dark alley a healthy gooner girl is sort after over here. hope you well. Stan hope your keeping out of trouble and not upsetting your mum. Hi Will according to talk Shite on the way home Alex song has left us and joined Barcelona, not sure of the strength of that info seeing how it came from a really shit program.
AGAG…I wonder if the Wenger telling the lying dutchman, “You are no longer in my plans,” is true (while on the field at Cologne). What a moment that must have been! I sure hope it was…I’m glad le Boss is back to being a Boss. Bullied by a man of glass? I don’t think so! I hope it’s true, so Wenger could have at least enjoyed having the last denial/refusal.
sorry maam but what year did was that? the everton one that is.
Hi Cowboy were going to be a force this year and i am realy looking forward to this season.
We really are having a clear out. Makes me feel positive about the season.
Cowboy, and I imagine AW would have delivered that in that deadpan voice we all know so well.
Fergie boasts that Robin turned down other offers. Sure, but only absolutely derisory ones. I hear we didn’t even offer him one. That must have hurt. The van Persie camp overplayed their hand. There weren’t as many “takers” as they thought there would be. 🙂
OK…off to install a window unit for the kiddos. enjoyed the escape…what time is the game? Anyone have other suggestions for seeing the game online besides:
http://www.eplsite.com and vipbox.com? How I miss the old mp2p.eu with all of the sopcast links…another one that was really good was rojadirecta.com…but it was seized by US ICE! Yowsers!
i ve got tears in me eyes……pires kills me.
I guess since wenger started wearing his glasses his vision has become clearer. I am so optimistic about this season. COYGs
Yeah AGAG…I picture RvP stepping back from the reply shaken and a bit dazed…
SAF said, “The boy wanted to come here.” Well take him. I don’t wish bad luck on anyone. I would love nothing more than to beat ManUre at full strength with all of their “best strikeforce in Europe” present and able. i can’t wait!
😛 SSP. If I run into Robin, in a dark alley, I think I would knee him in the privates. 🙂
I’d love to understand what Miquel Ignasi said about Song. Seemed very “engrish” to me, much like:
http://www.engrish.com/
Will, yes, things are looking up!
The 0-5 at the lane where Brady scored. I was there.
emma, had we known!! We’d have sent AW gift cheques to the eye doctor!!
He still looks dazed. Couldn’t even manage a smile while posing beside Fergie and his new jersey.
🙂 🙂 agirl
Hi agag. I am shocked that you would bring your knee abruptly into contact with van Persie’s bits. 🙂
And in a dark alley too.
Goonie would probably enjoy it. 🙂
will how old are you fella? brady played in the 1800’s didnt he?
adam you bet i will…….i wouldnt even mind if she rams a rolling pin on my head while at it. pain and pleasure me pal, pain and pleasure.
Steve – re your earlier, we certainly are and we have signed real quality, it’s looking good eh 😉
more videos rico……..please!!!!!!!!!
Adam, oh I’d wear knee pads with spikes. I thought about using a shoe with a skinny heel; but naaah. Don’t want to dirty my shoes. 😀
goonster, pain you say??? rico shoots rodents. And she doesn’t miss targets. 😉
Goonster, I am 43 and you are not too old to be…..
It’s funny though isn’t it, even though we here look at all that is going on at Arsenal and we see much hope. We see clearly that the 3 signings made totally outweigh the one ‘real’ loss we have suffered so far during this transfer window…
Yet still on other sites, all is doom and gloom, the calls for Arsene Wenger to be sacked are still there and I really struggle to understand why…
He made sure that he who left, left for very good money by telling the world he wanted him to stay.
He is making sure that a very average midfielder will soon leave for a good price…
And he has finally, after many seasons, appointed a captain who really is a captain and with a good back up.
We have 14 days left in this transfer window and we have money to spend.
We have a few really talented young players coming through and we have Jack Wilshere very close to a return…
For me, this is the most exciting times we have experienced since we robbed the Mancs of the FA Cup in 2005…
I posted that 7-0 because I was in St Lucia when we played them, I called my Mum to check on the score after the game and she told me – 7-0…
I said ‘who scored’?
She said ‘Everyone’……
I laughed…..
God i remember watching this game in a cast……cheered me up really nice. those were the days we used to pulverize teams. hopefully we are gonna get there again with this current team. i have a good feeling about the new season. COYGS.
whoa your mum is a gooner too!!!!!! Gosh am so jealous! my mum only watches soaps!
Alex Song set for £17m Barca transfer after demanding to leave Arsenal
Alex Song is on his way to Barcelona in a deal worth £17million after telling Arsenal he does not want to stay at the club.
The news comes after manager Arsene Wenger spent the last seven days deflecting questions about the future of the 24-year-old, who is a subject of interest from Spanish giants Barcelona.
As Metro revealed on Thursday, Wenger has been seeking a one-on-one meeting with Song after learning that his agent has been offering the player around Europe’s elite clubs, despite him having three years left to run on his current contract.
This has deeply angered Wenger in a week when he was forced to hand over his captain Robin van Persie to rivals Manchester United for £24million, following another dispute over contracts.
It is understood Song trained with the Arsenal squad this morning ahead of their Premier League opener against Sunderland tomorrow, but met with Wenger afterwards where he asked to leave.
Wenger has now sanctioned the sale, and Song has already cleared out his locker at the club’s training headquarters, and said his goodbyes to players and staff.
Arsenal are hopeful of agreeing a deal to sell Song over the weekend, and continued negotiations with Barcelona to find an agreement late into Friday afternoon.
Song, who has already agreed personal terms with the Catalan club, won’t now feature against Sunderland on Saturday, as the two sides close in on completing a £17million deal.
Arsenal are hopeful of bringing in Nuri Sahin from Real Madrid as cover, but will also attempt to sign a natural defensive midfielder, with Yann M’Vila, Etienne Capoue, Victor Wanyama, Lucas Biglia and Kara Mbodj among their targets.

Will, he’s over mine before yours….
St. Lucia = honeymoon. 🙂 🙂 😛
rico, there is no pleasing some people. Sad isn’t it, how those who claim to be supporters are so unbelievably negative?? They’d be complaining if we got Messi; because we should have gotten Messi AND Ronaldo…
Song for THAT much?? Now, that is goooood business. I’d be surprised if we don’t get M’Vila now. 🙂
Will and rico, are you guys sure??? He’d enjoy that… 😆
😆 😆 agag
I know, crazy isn’t it. Kev always says it’s busier on here after we lose than it is when we win and he’s been right……
Mind you, that was before we were joined by so many fab bloggers as we have today…
Let them moan, must be a dull old life…
I’d be moaning had we not signed who we have but, hey, let’s give AW credit where it’s due….
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay shit head is on his way out! now watch our transmission from defense to attack. this bugger slows us down big time. get someone in there who ll release the ball as fast as he wins it and we ll really rip them. bring on the season already. i can’t wait. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
So would I be surprised agag and the more clubs he turns down makes me think all that stuff in the news about a deal with us being agreed was/is true…..
We just needed to make sure we got the right price for Song first, hence the backtrack….
Trust me, goonie wouldn’t like it 😉
I am telling you guys, the RvP deal was a great bit of business.
goonster 🙄
I think we all know that Will…. Fergie has been robbed….
Off for dinner, back shortly
With Song and van Persie gone the team will play in a completely different way. Wenger really has an opportunity here and I hope he takes it.
Agag is right. We have incredibly negative vibes. Look at Spurs, if you can bear to. They are going to sell their best player Rodent-Man for £10 million less than they were offered last year by Chelsea. Levy, for all his posing, has really messed up big time as they don’t have CL football either. This is obviously a joyful event for every right-thinking individual. But where is the criticism? They have to sell the burrowing creature before they can buy a total scumbag like Adebayor.
rico, we might have signed and/or sold someone by the time you get back!! 😀
That’s why I don’t even bother reading those sites. Some of the posters are just vile.
hey, why are rolling your eyes on me rico? i didnt do nothing.
Goonster.
Adam, surely it wouldn’t be too much to at least give the new boys a chance. You would think we didn’t bring anybody in, the way some of these guys are talking!!
And tango, really?? So your next trip is trripping the light fantastic?? Niiiice.
adam!!
Hello al… any transfers yet ? I hear song is on his way out and some talks devoloped bw cowboy and goonster
dont encourage him AGAG…….
Yes agag. My friend got me into it.
I am looking forward to the game but it’s gonna be hot in the stadium I think.
All that shed erecting strengthened my back and I am ready for the passion of the Tango now.
Hey STV, how’s it going bro?
I bet you can’t dance, goonie. 😆
Hi, STV!! Tell me you are finally done with school 😀 from all accounts (well, twitter, at least) Song’s a goner. After the Robin saga, quite anticlimactic, really.
Adam, that shed thing was a on-day affair! 😛
It took about 5 hours agag. As Rico so rightly pointed out, that length of time over a single erection would tire most people out. But I did have some help. 🙂
Will, i was on the top tier of the East Stand at the Lane that day…
Remember all those Scummers gobbing all over Liam Brady and his smart full-length leather coat before the game as he left the field.
I knew then that he would make those scumbags pay, and didn’t he just, he absolutely destroyed them…
Nice memory Kev.
hahahahahahahaaha KEV is a 100 too…….hey AGAG dancing is for panzies. am a real man. we do something else………..care to know?
Stan, you bum….. 😆
Isn’t there a toll free number you’re supposed to call if your erection lasts longer than four hours? It’s bad for your health.
hey was there colour in the stands too………cause anything beyong 86 feels blurry to me. kev i ll bet you look like a real bastard back then. with side burns and all. hahahahahahahaha
Agag can do a hoola hoola dance….?
CG. This is a shed erection. 🙂
Evening all, Adam, Agag, Stan Canuck and STV, just lovin’ the positive vibe on here.
It’s the best i’ve know in the 2+ years that i’ve been blogging.
We’re on our way back Gooners, i can feel it in me water.. 😀
I should hope you had some help, Adam. 😛
Boo, Ak! 🙂 A post brimming with positivity.
Not particularly, stanley. 😀
Fine goonsterter hw you doin all good I hope..
Yes AGAG a while ago 😉
It’s better him gone by all accounts He was a very average player when he arrived here on loan from a relegated french club he’s not perfect one even now
He can go there and fill the mighty shoes of kieta.. fo
Kev. You are a positive guy and as I know, quick to smile. We must be positive, at least until we start moaning. And even then we still have The Walking Goonster.
Sideburns Stan, I’ll give you bloody sideburns….
I was a skinhead, so you better watch out….. 😉
Kev, I was there as well, I was a kid in full arsenal gear and I walked home through Tottenham after the match.
Oh no Adam, DON’T SET HIM OFF……. 😛
True Kev It’s People like you always drives the club forward not kroenkes..
Will, i’m sure we’ve compared notes on this before, you used to live at Northumberland Avenue and i lived in Lordship Lane opposite Bruce Castle Park.
We moved there in 1965…. From Newington Green.
You old bat 😛
Many thanks STV that’s very kind, but i’m really not the only one you know, Will is also positive, so are most of you, it’s the bloody media that bring us down. I simply won’t allow those tossers to poison my love of Arsenal.
Adam, you have become a lot more positive since you’ve been on here. I’ve noticed.
Allezkev — I agree. Now if we could only get through to the Doom & Gloom Set and all start pulling in the same direction and give the team a boost. Unfortunately some people seem to enjoy wallowing in misery.
Adam — I know, but I couldn’t supress the urge to be impudent. The Viagra add is a constant play on evening television over here.
RIP opened his United mouth for the first time!!
We don’t have TV ads for that CG. It would tap too heavily into our insecure national sense of Carry On movie humour.
Tbh Canuck, i now avoid the blogs that are set on being negative about everything….
I never go on Le Grove anymore….
Nothing to do with the guys that run it, they helped Rico set up and she’ll never have a bad word said about them.
But the bloggers they attract are really quite corrosive, so better to steer clear…
hey scratch that kev was adam a doomer once?
I’ve had a go on ACLF, AA and Untold, but this really is, in my experience, quite a unique blog in terms of sensible comment and a welcoming atmosphere.
Kev. Give me a chance. The games haven’t started yet. But, have I really been more positive? I can’t even remember how long I have been here really. Not as long as you.
Not a doomer Stan, but he was a very frustrated fan when he came on here, is that fair comment Adam?
legrove is a DOOMERS heaven!
It’s more like a social club than a pure Arsenal blog. Was I a doomer Goonie ?
I could still be frustrated Kev. I see a clear opportunity in front of the club and if Wenger, who has the finances, doesn’t grab it and instead relies on Diaby etc. I will get the hump again.
Tbh i can only think of two bloggers, who have come on here and really pissed me off, Spectrum & Gambon.
Spectrum got me very wound-up, Gambon i just ignored.
allez – I used to go on Le Grove as well. Too negative for my liking esp the lad called Gambon. Glad i found HH where everyone have positive vibes about the season
Adam — Now there is something I haven’t watched in years, a Carry On film. I think most, if not all, are available on DVD.
Kev — There are a few I still check, including Le Grove on occasion. Their trouble is that there is next to no moderation of the comments. I don’t mind a good argument/discussion, but if the response you get is simply a personal attack with no counter-point it is a waste of time. That is why I continue to return here “Where It is OK to disagree”.
Yeah Adam, i totally understood exactly where you were coming from as well mate.
I also get frustrated as well, i went ape-shit when lost to Birmingham, so i tend to leave it alone if we get a bad result now…
Absolutely Adam, i love the chat about food, wine, holidays, cars, watches, Stanley’s underpants,it is like a social blog.. 🙂
All thanks to Rico, the Tango gal….
both legends kev………i love them especially retrum spectrum. he’s my hero. then there was one fella back then in legrove too…….jaguar. we had a heated debate back then he called me wenger’s ass. i was in limbo for months until rico(bless her heart) started up HH. ahhhhhhhhhh a bloggers’ paradise.
Emma, great to have you here, we need more ladies, your very welcome….
Stan, your a real sport mate.
Adam, I remember one of your posts from last season after we had just lost a game at home about being stuck in the car, not able to listen to the radio, not able to watch MOTD on the telly that night and not able to read the back pages the next morning, it really struck a chord.
Kev, skinheads have more hair than brains…fact.
The only doomers still standing here are Alan and wath and they’re both too old to change their ways now.
jeez kev, must you mention my underpants everytime? you just cant go a day without talking about it can ya?
Gambon is very famous!! I’ve seen the name mentioned here many times !!
Jaguar something or other, yeah, i remember him Stan, i think he was Maltese…. honest!
You know when rico started this, there were like six or seven of us blogging regularly. 🙂 1965?? My parents hadn’t even met. 😛 😉
Adam, yes you have “brightened” in disposition over time. 😛 😛
Hiya, CG.
Mick, i was joking mate, i was too wimpy…. 😉
hahahahahahaah good one micko, W.A.T.H is so old he needs carbon dating to determine which era he’s from!
Stan, the story of your underpants has gone around the entire globe…
People in small villages in the middle of nowhere actually discuss the state of your underpants…!!!
Your famous Stan, er, well, your underpants are!
Its looking like Sahin is off to Liverpool for some reason unknown to me.
yeah AGAG, thank fuck i finally met ya. talk about meant to be.*swoon*
one of 6 or 7 😉
That took longer than I thought 😛
Kev, was born and bred there to my eternal shame.

I’m told Arsène Wenger called Nuri Sahin earlier. Personal touch has worked. He would be cover, but Arsenal also want proper DM.
I’m off for a bite of lunch and an afternnon of chores. Tomorrow is a big day; up early to catch Arsenal’s first win of the new season then a long trip to my oldest son’s for a family barbecue. Should be the start of a great weekend.
Till tomorrow fellow Gooners.
Jamie Sanderson@YoungGunsBlog
Arsenal are negotiating with Barcelona at present. Want at least £17m. Song has already agreed terms
See ya tomorrow Canuck
There’s someone in NC who’s not getting any action. Tsk. Haha.
STV, yes, of course! 🙂
rico, we haven’t signed or sold anyone. 🙁 😉
emma, gambon used to post here occasionally. I think.
what did you have rico? i had me some rice crispsies and chicken……hmmmmmmmm
what did you have rico? i just had me a bojangles chicken and biscuits……….delicious. that’s some good news there kev.
I have missed a few very kind comments …. Thanks guys and gals, but you know I always say that its the bloggers who make HH, I just write a lot of the rubbish and you all chat away after, it’s certainly good fun… 🙂
Thank goodness HH has a lot of guest writers, at least you get to read something sensible every now and again 😉
Apparantly the last time Arsenal started the season at home to Sunderland was 1947-48
We won the League that season….
hey who’s messing with me comments again? goddamn you W.A.T.H.
Veggie chilli goonie…
Have a good one CG 🙂
agag – but we will 🙂
JS is a bit slow Kev, that personal touch is in the post 😆
Rico, you must have a post or two from Adam in the pipeline…?!
Looking forward to them…..
And Sir Stevo will soon take up his mighty pen again….
But Rico always needs a bit of help, and there’s some pretty smart people out there, how about it..?
Rico.. 😀
i ll write me a post soon AK…..wait for it!
We’ve come a long way, lady of the house. 😉
Have a great day, CG! 🙂
What comments, stanley?
Sunderland won’t be easy though. But then again, we have a few good ones in. Maybe, we won’t be so easy to figure out. 🙂
Good omen Kev…
yes AGAG we sure have……cant believe i go by the name “goonerstan” then! i mean what’s that all about???
One thing Cazorla will bring which we haven’t had since Cesc left is the ability to play in through balls into the strikers. Otherwise known as the classical ∆ ball!
We sure have agag and i love it…. 🙂
i miss red arse, oliver, erick and DK! hey and jonjon too! whatever hapened to those guys?
ESP, dont make start creaming all over again. God i just cant wait. the anticipation is killing me.
Agree there Esp….
Not too long now Goonie, just hope Santi is fit for tomorrow….
Santi might start on the bench Rico…
me too maam, we ll be too much for them. i only fear sesegnon. he ll give us a torrid time on the wings. we need to keep our shape maam or we ll be punished.
We have’nt won the league since a crook decided to join us.now ..
so who do you figure will start AK?
I hope he starts Kev, rip Sunderland apart from the off and show the PL that we mean business….
If Bould has done his work, we’ll be ready for their threat goonie…
I second that goonstr., They were awesome here.I wish they start posting here again
I did read that Sessegnon is out Stan…
STV, i like you man but i love your avatar more. hey rico, not fair everyone’s got a cool looking avatar while mine looks like something W.A.T.H passed out in a drunken brawl. what did i ever do to you? its not fair maam.
I am off. Good night, friends!! 🙂
I’m done guys and gals….
You all enjoy the rest of your day and catch up tomorrow, a day when the new AFC begins….

English Division One
Arsenal 3-1 Sunderland
Blackburn Rovers 2-3 Everton
Blackpool 3-0 Chelsea
Bolton Wanderers 0-1 Stoke City
Charlton Athletic 4-0 Sheffield United
Derby County 0-0 Huddersfield Town
Grimsby Town 3-0 Aston Villa
Liverpool 3-1 Preston North End
Manchester City 4-3 Wolverhampton Wndrs

We won the league that year. Ronnie Rooke the leagues top scorer .. I’d take 3-1 v Sunderland, Winning the PL and Giroud getting 33 goals and winning the golden boot ….
The results are from Statto but the rest I knew !!!
Just had a meal and come in and watched some old Sgt Bilko DVD’s
Hope everyone is ok ???

It’s a spectacular late winter day…..not a cloud in the sky.
I’m watching a replay of Citeh 6-1 over UTD.
I’m sitting here thinking that even though they missed the title by an inch,UTD aren’t actually that good.
They have an aura aout them built over the last 15 years, and sides are beaten by them before kick off.
That aura may well be busted now,and I’m seriously thinking even RVP might not be enough for them.
A great club on the slide,I reckon.
Hope you’re right Scott.
If you ever want to watch a total team performance try and find a video of Portsmouth 1-6 Arsenal at Fratton Park in the FA Cup 6th round. It was the year Arsenal should have won the treble.
We were 0-6 up after an hour and eased off. We could have had double figures.
Catch you later kidda.
See ya mate.
U lot all gone to bed or what SYG where are ya…?
AK a skin head… Now the old fart just bald… Sorry Grandad…! 😉
79 NLD I got absolutely terrorised after that game at the lane….! Not a nice experience…! the worm turns though…!
Apparently there’s a clause in RVP’s new contract that his seat in the stands at Old Trafford is of equal quality to that he so frequently used at The Emirates.
Morning Wath.
Just saw some footage of Sahin.
I have one word, and one word only to say.
Go and get him Arsene!!
Is it me or does Arshavin look fit as fuk in the pic on dot.com…?
A fit and keen Arshavin could be a potent weapon for us….. As SYG said the other day when he is up for it AA is without doubt one of the best players in Europe… Such a shame most of the time he can’t be arsed…!
Wath, was he being overshadowed, intimidated or castigated by RVP?
Was RVP an unsettling influence?
I have absolutely no doubt we will see the best of Gervinho BECAUSE RVP has gone.
Scott, make no mistake… Sahin is quality mate….
Got a piss funny email from a mate earlier will send it to you now… No swearing at me 😛
I’ve heard AA is not liked in the dressing room…………… Big headed and arrogant BUT bottom line is we know when the little fella performs he is a class act…!
He’s a superstar…world class,without question.
If a grat player doesn’t fit in at a club,he doesn’t fit in.
There can be no stand out reason,it just happens.
People questioned Podolski after his time at Bayern, and it was a fair call.
However,he was a great player before and after the Bayern stint,so it’s just a case if a square peg in a round hole.
I’m glad Sahin hasn’t made Real home….let’s give him one.
Give him a decent shot in the right position, and we can see what Arshavin can do.
hi guys…..looks like he’s coming our way. sahin that is. hi ya W.A.T.H
Let’s hope so!!!
Agreed mate, have always said the little man is so gifted yet wasted at Arsenal, why do we play him out wide….??? technically brilliant lets please make the most of his talents…!
Email sent Scott… No abuse now you hear lol… ok ok go on then you know i don’t give a crap 😉
Arshavins cross to Henry v Sunderland was one of the single most brilliant pieces of football I’ve ever seen.
I reckon Cesc and mayb one or two other plays in the world were capable of it.
Hi scott, i really like ashavin. just hope this is his year cause arsene seems to be in a ruthless mood this summer….and i must say am loving it.
Wath,we always make jokes about the Kiwis being sheep shaggers lol.
I can take it though.
Greetings Stanley…. I’ve been told it’s a done deal “IF” we want him…. the one doubt is is seems the club do want a proper defensive midfielder and thats the priority then do we need Sahin if and when Jack is fit….!?!?!? That’s what they deciding on…!
I’d say get both it can only help the quality of the squad and also cover us for injuries that we all know we seem to pick up… i still say keeper is a worry.. Chez gets a knock as we fucked…!
Wenger is taking no shit, and the players remaining at the club will respect him for it.
He’s been too kind on his guys, and that works to a certain extent, but when it comes down to it,he MUST be the boss.
I knew you’d have a giggle at that Scott, soon as I got it I thought of you 😉
Stan, AA is a quality player no doubts and he has a brilliant footballing brain, half the time to good for others on the pitch but the fact he comes across as lazy doesnt do him any favours… Play him in the position he wants… let him flourish and we benefit surely..? You can’t waste class like him…!
hope song fucks off by tomorrow. since that prick started playing for us our transmission from defense to attack has been pretty slow. get a real DM in there and see us rip it. i have a good feeling about this season guys.
spot on W.A.T.H, he did look the business during the euro. maybe arsene ll finally unleash him this season. hey did he really play through the centre against cologne?
Scott, I think it’s a club issue…. for what ever reason it seems they have decided enough is enough… No more player power no more being held to ransom if you don’t wanna be here then fuck off and it’s to be commended in my book. The only proper Arsenal people you can rely on are the fans.. the players by and large are loyal only to a pay packet…! If the club realises that then it’s a change of heart and though and can only benefit the club going forward, treat the players and you know they would treat us… given the opportunity of more money they will crap all over us so be harsh and make the rules.
We can give the league a shake.
Off to Sean’s game….gonna try and get some video footage, see if he backs up my wraps.
See ya guys…..can’t wait til tonight!!!
He played on the right up front Stan. not in the “hole” then again vP was playing up front on his own and did very little…! AA in the mood is a player that will rip you to shreds with decent players around him..!
night scott…….
Good luck to Sean mate hope he has a good game… Keep him grounded Scott but it seems you do which is good…! Chat lata just b4 the game…!
i just wanna see the old AA again. the one that shone during euro08
Me and you Stanley and NO i am not telling you where to get hot Booty in Texas 😉
In LA maybe but your not there so am not gonna get you all excited lol
so what’s your line up for tomorrow’s game W.A.T.H?
The one that dragged us by the balls into the CL in his first season would do me Stanley… AA is class simple as that and that you never lose so why is he so lazy and why does he play like he could not care less…? upset because he is out of position? Annoyed at team mates not on the same wavelength as him…? Any number of reasons BUT i would love to see him pull his weight in an Arsenal shirt…! he really is top notch..!
No watch us flog him next week lol……………
there you go W.A.T.H just when i was going to get all “civilized” and have a proper football talk! jeez, where is kev when you need him?
Stanley your such a plum lol……………… 😉
My team for 2moro… Hmmmm well I’m a little torn… do you want a team that I would play or a team that I think Wenger will play…???
We’re obviously a little limited with a few injuries but you also have to look at the players Wenger seems to hold faith in…! That for me is a slight problem as I dont have the faith he has in certain individuals..!
is carzola out? well if he’s not here’s my team……..sir chesny, nico, mert, verm, lecoq, arteta, santi, walcott, gervinho and prince poldi. i ll keep giroud on the bench for this one.
diaby and oxcham to come in and rip them in the second half…..i ll go for a 3.0 score line. gervinho with a brace and arteta with the other.
Not bad Stanley…
My team…
Chez
Yennaris BFG TV Gibbs
Coq
Cazorla Arteta
Walcott Gervinho
Podolski
yikes i left out my LB, i ll go for gibbo too W.A.T.H
Wengers team
Chez
Yennaris BFG TV Gibbs
Coq
Diaby Arteta
Walcott Gervinho
Podolski
Bench
Cazorla
Ramsey
Santos
Djourou
Giroud
Coq
Fabianski
Yeah he ll start diaby wont he? oh well atleast no song in there to mess things up.
I think wenger will go for his love child Diaby but either way it’s a decent team….
With Coq playing the holding role and Arteta and Cazorla pulling the strings I think we could steam roller sunderland the balls inbetween the back four and behind the defence into the gaps for Gervinho and Theo will be non stop from Cazorla and Arteta and Podolski will thinks its Xams with that kind of service…!
We could Also go 442 which I would love or 4411 with Cazorla in the hole behind Podolski
Chex
Yennaris BFG TV Gibbs
Theo Coq Arteta Gervinho
Cazorla Podolski
If we get anything over 10 million for Song I think thats another club we’ve just ripped off 😉
I really can’t believe Barca want him… talk about land with your arse in the butter…! Wait til they realise he’s actually pretty shit lol….!
i dont think wenger ll ever revert to 442, he ll admitting defeat. its not robust for our kinda game. if we get sahin and a good DM i see us playing a 343. the likes martinez employed towards the end of last season.
W.A.T.H dont alert them! come on let them stump the cash for him first. then we can all laugh our butts out. song is shit. i dont see him displacing biscuits in that mid field.
hi gunners,hi rico and adam!!after van per$ie`s departure,i`m now a different gunner.i`m urging wenger to spent the money and also sell all the player that wants to go next year after a good season with us.
also this one goes the scum bag`s wife(per$ie`s wife)let her stop that hypocrisy,i think she`s trying black name the gunners faithfuls.
Well maybe they see him as a centre back…? stranger things have happened but one thing is for sure in the current financial climate lets make sure we get CASH up front
Seedou, I hear your anger but in all honesty no need to commetn on vP’s wife, if we wanna slag him off then say it to him she isn’t the issue here and pretty poor for anyone to slag her off, take your anger out on him…!
i’m off Stanley you have a good evening…! Behave as well you delinquent 😉
W.A.T.H i don`t have gut feeling for his wife but she shouldn`t go to the newspapers and say Arsenal fans are abusing her,cos thats not good for our image.i will boo van per$ie any time they visit emirates.
somebody is asking me about his son, shanqueel who we were link with before,is he gonna train in our academy?
Robin listened to the “little boy inside” when deciding on his future.
He should smack the kids arse til it’s red.
Is the same little bastard we’ve seen a thousand times with a football, wearing an Arsenal shirt? 🙂
Arshavin could be a big factor if his heart is in it…I agree with ya’ll on that one…
morning all….bright day ahead….arsenal 5..sunderland 0
Morning all….
wow bondex, you that confident 😉
Come On You Rip Roaring Gunners….
Morning AKB’s
Morning Kev….
New Post up
Bondex, if you are right, i will buy you a pint when you visit England…
